"I’ve found the narwal tangle free brush solution to be excellent. ... Yes with my daughters long hair and constantly shedding Rottweilers the narwal is the first that hasn’t died or become too much hassle within the first year"
"The narwal freo z ultra and freo x ultra both have anti tangle brushes. ... In my 1+ months of using both of them, no hairs has ever got stuck in the brush or the axle. ... My wife has super long hair which always annoys me - gets stuck on the regular vacuums brush and the roborock s7 (axles, not on the rollers). But with the narwal, I never had to clean them once. ... The only thing holding me from returning the narwals was/is the anti tangle brush."
"Both have a roller brush that does not clog. Over a year later and no hair tangles. ... No. They use a circular pattern of airflow. That pulls the hair to the side of the roller brush that is not mounted. The X Ultra has been in use for over a year now and has yet to have a clog."

"The time saved alone from not sweeping daily is huge for me, totally worth it."
"the narwal can sense if the area isnt clean yet and go back and clean it ... if it goes back to finish and leaves a cleaner surface than a single pass during a typical mop session from a different vac, the end result is the narwal will leave the area cleaner."
"I do about ten minutes of maintenance a month, that the app tells me to do, like emptying the bin or replacing the pads."

"The Narwal sensors have "pet detection" so it will stop when it sees my dog in its path."
"He mostly ignores the Freo Z Ultra, but when they do come close to each other, it pauses just like any other obstacle."
"Narwal is normally #1 in the industry with Object Avoidance."

"Of my robots, the Narwal maintains the cleanest base station and mop pads. ... That's their trademark (because using lots of water to wash works!) and I suspect the Flow will continue that trend."
"the Narwal will have the best smart cleaning mode and mopping ... Z50 is going to be a much better mopping robot than the ecovacs and eufy robots with a roller mop"
"Een van betere dweil apparaat vergeleken met andere merken."

"The Narwal Freo X and Freo Z are both under 60 dB on Quiet Mode."

"Its a mostly fine robot but not a fan of their mapping software. ... The basic and simple and frustrating issues with the Narwal software have been there now for well over a year. ... Issues like mapping open concept spaces and having easy to use and manipulate split and merge lines have been solved years ago by other companies like Roborock and by Dreame. ... There is no excuse that Narwal - who has most definately been made aware of these issues long ago - has either chosen to ignore fixing 'merge/split' options (and more) or the current team is incapable of doing so. ... As a homeowner with a large open concept layout their mapping software is crap and pretty much renders using their robot useless unless I want to compromise how I use a Narwal. ... Something that is not an issue with Roborock or Dreame or Mova (and probably others also). ... So if a home has basically traditiona wall spaces.Sure. Narwal is great. If the layout is open concept. Then....Narwal no."
"splitting rooms or modifications to the map also has some quirks that annoy me so much."
"the mapping/ map updating kinda sucks sometimes and both the robots I had to re-map the house at least 2-3 times."

"Also I didn’t like how much data the Narwal sent to servers. ... In the 2 weeks I had it, my firewall logs showed the Narwal sent over 20 GB of data. ... I had the remote video disabled so assume it was for vision AI analysis. ... Still, it shouldn’t need to send that much data."
"I also had some concerns on privacy"

"While I had it, it would ram full force into things in a way that was almost comical."
"I don't trust it 100% not to suck up a hairball or vomit. That's asking for trouble."
"It also occasionally tangles itself in stuff like string on the ground"

"doesn't have auto empty for the vacuum bin"
"ive not been impressed by their user support. ... They replied with "You should buy our Freo Z Ultra that has auto bin emptying"..."
"we do have to empty it once a day"
They are cheaper. It used to be 2k, but the older versions are like under 400, for the versions that were 2k before. Look especially around black Friday. I have the narwal freo x ultra, used to have the original narwal freo The dreame L10S ultra was coming out at the same time as that, and now that's under 300. Idk how reliable it is a I never got it and decided not to after some research and clogging. I went and stayed with the narwal freo and got the automatic water exchange system so I don't have to empty or fill the water again. The original lasted years, and the new one is running even better than that one. You'll have to look at features and pricing. Don't get the best and newest version if price is an issue. The older versions used to be top of the line and those work really well still. Do research and look at the prices and see if they're what you're willing to spend.
I am using Narwal Freo x Ultra from last 5 months(With proper maintainance). Sometime available at 35k on CC offer on Amazon, I am Totally satisfied with both Vaccum and Mop. There are also 3rd party accessories available at cheap rates.
NARWAL is super good - we bought during Diwali for 18k , very satisfying
if any defect they replace , otherwise product is very sterdy , very user friendly and we have had no issues , 100% imported units
We have a Narwal Freo X Ultra and absolutely love it. It’s been the best robot we have ever owned and we have owned quite a few brands in the past 10 years.
I have a Narwal Freo X Ultra that works pretty well and with minimal human intervention. I got it from Costco for about $700. I have used the cheaper ones in the past and they are garbage, constantly getting stuck. I had one get stuck in the square of my rug pattern… the cheap ones are cheap for a reason… get a decent upright vac instead.
I have a Narwal and it's really not that bad noise wise. I had a Switchbot before that was quite noisy.
I have a Narwal Freo X Ultra. It navigates pretty well with lidar and lazers and doesn't have the privacy concerns of a camera. The roller is attached on a single side and never gets clogged with hair or fur, and there are several animals living in the house. The mopping is really nice. It doesn't empty dust into its base. I feel like Narwal does a better job of engineering solutions into the robot than other companies, but I'll note that they are upgraded and changed so quickly maybe someone else is putting out something better. The maintenance is pretty easy, fill and empty the clean and dirty water respectively every week or so, empty the dust every couple of weeks. There's a bit more maintenance beyond that, but none of it is too bad. I've really been blown away with it. I previously had a vacuum only robot that navigated with just lidar, and it would get stuck on things constantly (I am not the absolute best at keeping the floors robot ready with the pets).
A Narwal Freo X Ultra.
Have the Narwal Freo X Ultra. Really like the actual robot, does a really great job cleaning but ive not been impressed by their user support. Sent a suggestion to them about adding an "empty bin" mode (it autofills/emptys the mopping water, but doesn't have auto empty for the vacuum bin) where you could set the location of your trash bin and the robot would just go there and wait until you emptied it and sent it back home. They replied with "You should buy our Freo Z Ultra that has auto bin emptying"...
So, long story short, I have a Newfie, and so far the Dyson is the only thing that works on the floof. Which for those who don't know, is long enough to wrap around most brushes and gum them up, but also is ridiculously waterproof and basically scotch-garded - the dog can be swimming for half an hour and his skin is still dry, it's ridiculous. The problem is, it's expensive and really isn't designed for the duty cycle it's put through - no self emptying and the plastic body and glued on parts don't hold up well after a year of use. Plus, the exhaust is to the side, so it usually needs two passes to fully clean a room. I've tried the Narwal Freo X Ultra and a Roborock (I don't recall which, I had it for all of a week but it was the highest end vacuum only they had), they both fail to pick it up at all and just push the fur around. The Roomba S9 did OK on full power, but because the pickup wasn't full width everything not in the path of the pickup would end up wrapping up the rest of the vacuum and it needed to be cleaned out after every room. The only definite requirements are: * Vacuum only, or at least no mop pad normally on the bottom * No spinny side brush to get gummed up * Full width roller/bar that at least goes in front of all of the mechanics behind it * High suction I'd also prefer something USA/EU/Commonwealth based, but I realize that's probably not realistic.
In our testing, the Freo X Ultra (Similar to the pro) got 7.5/10 on hard floor pickup, and the Qrevo got 8.5/10. The Qrevo also did better for mopping and carpet debris pickup. Both were bad at pet hair on carpet, and both got hair tangled in their brush rollers, and both allow you to easily remove the hair. Both are bad for obstacle avoidance, so you'll have to tidy loose cables and socks before running them. The Freo has a debris compression feature and does not have an auto empty dock like the Qrevo. We tested this and found that their claim of 7 weeks was a bit off, as we ran it at a testers home with two cats and found it lost suction around the 25-day mark (of running it every day). If you're looking at the N30, might be best to go with the newer T50 Omni, as they are the same price right now (I'm in Quebec so it might be different for you). I haven't tested either, but we have tested the X8 Pro omni, which has the same brush roller so they should perform the same (8/10 on hardfloor). It did a little better with pet hair on carpet than the Narwal and the Roborock. From what I've seen on this Subreddit, Roborocks do tend to be more reliable over time, but since we don't test longevity, I can only go based on user commentary. From my experience of testing both robots, the Freo had so many bugs at the time, and the app was far less feature rich and stable than Roborocks. However, this was back in mid 2024, so it's possible those issues have been ironed out. Boxing Day sales usually start the same week as Christmas, so maybe hold off for those to see if a better vacuum goes down in price, like the QX Revo Arc (Qrevo Curv rebranded) or the Ecovas X8 Pro Omni. Hope this helps and happy holidays!
The narwal freo z ultra and freo x ultra both have anti tangle brushes. In my 1+ months of using both of them, no hairs has ever got stuck in the brush or the axle. My wife has super long hair which always annoys me - gets stuck on the regular vacuums brush and the roborock s7 (axles, not on the rollers). But with the narwal, I never had to clean them once. Narwal does a pretty good job of vacuuming and mopping but the app isn't mature and the same goes for the robots themselves. They have some quirks - the mapping/ map updating kinda sucks sometimes and both the robots I had to re-map the house at least 2-3 times. Also, splitting rooms or modifications to the map also has some quirks that annoy me so much. I also had some concerns on privacy so I returned the freo z, still have the freo x, will use it for a bit and decide. The only thing holding me from returning the narwals was/is the anti tangle brush.
