This is awesome because I have a kid and teenagers like to drip things absent-mindedly or maybe conscious-mindedly.... But the point is they don't often pick up their own spills. 😂 So it helps there."

"Also I didn’t like how much data the Narwal sent to servers. ... In the 2 weeks I had it, my firewall logs showed the Narwal sent over 20 GB of data. ... I had the remote video disabled so assume it was for vision AI analysis. ... Still, it shouldn’t need to send that much data."

I think the Dreame L/X40 Ultra (choose whichever is cheaper) would be a better fit for you with the TriCut brush. Best object recognition and obstacle avoidance (Narwal is similarly as good) Better vacuuming than the Narwal but not as great as the Roborock Curv (I don’t think that the price justifies its performance) The Eufy S1 pro and the Narwal Freo z are great at raw mopping performance but the Eufy can’t deal with hair well and it seems vacuuming is a bit of an issue. Dreame’s eh raw mopping is compensated by its onboard CleanGenius to help it decide whether to go over areas.

Yep this is sadly true. Dreame, roborock, and Narwal don’t have good customer service compared to Eufy and Xiaomi (if this brand is available). It seems iRobot is also struggling with customer service so I’d recommend buying robots from an authorized retailer like Costco for easier customer service if you need to return it if it’s defective.

What is your purchasing region? I recommend you pair it to your phone then share the robot with your grandparents’ account or log into your account on their phone. You can then set it up for them and put it on a schedule. Roborock’s app ui seems to be the easiest. NarWal’s app also looks pretty easy to use. NarWal’s base station will be the easiest to clean and is easily compatible with a water exchanging module that can be hooked up to your water line. Of course you need to give it a good clean once every few weeks or so. Dreame’s app is simply too overwhelming with all the customization.

Would you like it to extend and wiggle the mops? I think this feature is best for cleaning stains under things like fridges or cleaning along the edges if your dog likes to drool along the edges too (mine does). There are three ways for anti tangling to happen. 1. Combs in the brush compartment. This is the least effective way. Ecovacs uses this method but reviewers have found it does get tangled with long hair. 3i and Eufy also uses this technique and I don’t know what reviewers say. 2. Active cutting of hair when it gets tangled Dreame uses this method. This method relies on the hair first getting tangled and then the hair strands will enter a groove where there is a hidden knife to cut the hair, sending it into the dust box with the vacuum fan’s help. Dreame’s brush is also engineered for the hidden knife to move like a razor after 23 revolutions. In my experience, it’s been stellar at long hair and my long haired corgi’s fur. Hair can get tangled on the sides if you use their old brush cover, they have a new brush cover now to cover the non-brush compartment of the TriCut brush and it works great at preventing any hair from getting to the sides. Midea also utilizes this method in a different way. It has really small razor blades built into the top of the brush compartment and is programmed to vibrate like a shaving razor up there to cut off any hair and the vacuum will bring the hair into the dust box. It seems to work well. The less efficient way I’ve seen this implemented is the base station having a blade cut the hair at the brush. The Mijia M30 Pro does this (stupid 3i Robotix) and it doesn’t work very well. The last way is using the airflow itself to get rid of tangled hair. There are brushes shaped like an archimedes screw with the brush fibers at a certain angle so any tangled hair will move to the narrow end of the brush and the vacuum inlet at the narrow end will suck it into the dust box Narwal does this. Dreame’s new models (currently only in mainland china) do this with two conical brushes, one rubber and one rubber and fiber bristles to suit both carpeted and hard floors. They solve a current problem with this conical shape as the narrower end of the brush will have less to no contact with the ground, reducing its cleaning ability. Dreame hid the narrow end and only the parts where it can have contact with the floor are exposed. Roborock also does this with a twist. Instead of the narrow end being to a side, it uses two brushes where the narrow ends point to each other and any hair will hence go to the middle instead of the side. Both the cutting brush and the conical brush design is great for any long hairs. The dreame cutting brush method is more economical as it isn’t restricted to one model only. If you wouldn’t like to carry your base station up, don’t get the Narwal. Although it has a handle for easier carrying, the lack of an onboard water tank means it can only clean about 5-15 square meters before having to clean its mops again. I also wouldn’t really recommend it as after any robot mop combo with a mop cleaning station makes the mops really wet after cleaning it, which doesn’t seem great for your wood floors. https://www.reddit.com/r/CleaningTips/comments/o011xc/how_do_you_properly_cleanmop_wax_finished_floors/?rdt=59160 Roborock does great too. The Q Revo Master Edge is also very tangle free with the duo divide brush. Best computer vision and related cleaning algorithm would go to Dreame’s X/L40 ultra. It’s smart enough to detect pet areas and give it special attention. Next year’s dreame X50 will have double rollers that are designed to be even better than the current TriCut brush. I heard it doesn’t do so well with much thicker strands that can’t fit into the razor compartment so the airflow approach to de tangling hair seems to be a lot better. I would have recommended the Eufy S1 Pro if it was good at dealing with long hair. It is a very solid robot mop. I also have qualms about the ozone generator in the water tank as I’m worried it could degrade the rubber sealing and leak….

Dreame/MOVA models with an RGB camera and Narwal camera enabled models are best at obstacle avoidance. As for hair: dreame/MOVA models with the TriCut brush will do just fine with human hair and pet fur. For longer hair, I’d look at the dreame L/X40 and newer (MOVA P10 Pro Ultra and newer) as the new side brush design is more tangle resistant compared to the previous one. If your pet sheds a lot, I’d recommend the Dreame x50 ultra as it can compress fur in its dustbin as it vacuums. Narwal’s Freo Z Ultra is a good choice for hair and fur too. It has great obstacle avoidance and will have the best smart cleaning program. There is also the LDS-only Freo Z10 which will be able to mop closer to edges and untangle any tangled hair on its side brushes These models all are combo models that mop much better than a swiffer. Upcoming models that will mop better than the previous models: MOVA Z50 Ultra and the Narwal Flow.

Eufy E25 or E28 for roller mop robots. Both are the same in terms of robot. E28 comes with a spot remover which can be useful. Since it appears you’re in the US, I cannot recommend the MOVA Z50 Ultra which is much better than the ecovacs X8 Pro omni at mopping and Eufy S1 Pro for vacuuming and mopping. For mopping with spinning pads, the Narwal Z10 will be the best (if you don’t want a camera which isn’t recommended if your dog makes messes). It autoempties and has full anti-

Roborock’s QRevo series and the Narwal Freo series with the all in one base station have completely removable mop pad cleaning trays (narwal’s Freo X Ultra, Freo Pro, and Freo Z’s entire bottom tray can be easily removed for cleaning). There is also the dreame x50 ultra with the AceClean system but I think it’s too expensive right now

How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

Depends on your purchasing region. I’d recommend one with autoemptying and for it to have an all in one base station if you want it to mop so it can clean twice a day for you. My robot runs twice a day and at 20,000sqm cleaned, it still works great. Vacuum only ones: Roborock Q5 Max+ or the Q8 Max+ (I don’t know much about the other new roborock models so I’ll wait for other users to report their experience to consider recommending them) Combo ones Xiaomi is a popular cost effective brand. I’d recommend the X10+, X20 Pro and the X20 Max. This is if you want it to vacuum and then mop (which I use since my corgi drools a lot). The TriCut brush compatibility also means it’ll deal with corgi fur well. Xiaomi is not available in the NA market. Dreame’s L40 Ultra and MOVA’s P10 Pro Ultra have been sold in the US for 499-599 (the price fluctuates) and are essentially the same robot. It is also compatible with the TriCut brush. Narwal Freo Z10 will be recommended as it is the cheaper autoemptying model.

I’ve been in your shoes before, trying to find the perfect robot vacuum for a home with pets and carpets. I finally tried the Freo Z10, and it’s been a total lifesaver. I was really impressed with how well it handles high-pile carpet and picks up pet hair—I mean, my dog sheds like crazy, but this thing takes care of it all. My cat and dog leave toys everywhere, but the Freo Z10 just glides around them without any issues. It’s also surprisingly affordable, which was a huge plus for me. I’ve been really happy with my purchase, and I think you’ll love it too!

I had the same issue with my old vacuum, especially with pet hair and the mop not working well. I ended up getting the Narwal Freo Z10, and it’s been a huge upgrade. It’s a bit more than $500, but the LIDAR mapping, anti-tangle feature, and self-cleaning are worth it. The mopping is also way better than my old one. If you can manage to save a little extra, it could be a great investment in the long run!

I totally get what you're looking for! I was in a similar situation and ended up getting the Narwal Freo Z10. It's been a game-changer for me. The mop function is really effective, and it does a great job with hair, which is super important with a dog and long hair in the house. The Freo Z10 has a special anti-tangle system that works really well, so you don't have to worry about constantly cleaning the brush. Plus, it's got a smart cleaning station that makes maintenance a breeze. And the best part? It's all under your budget of €1000. You won't be disappointed!

I got the Narwal Freo Z10, and it’s been a breath of fresh air for my home. I had the same hair and maintenance issues with my old vacuum, and this one has really made a difference. The anti-tangle brush works surprisingly well—I rarely have to deal with hair wrapped around it. Plus, the dustbin is big enough that I only need to empty it every few weeks, which is perfect for a “set it and forget it” approach. It’s also smart enough to avoid cords, so no more constantly unplugging them. The design is sleek and not bulky, and it fits well in my space. It’s a bit of an investment, but it’s worth it for the hassle-free cleaning experience.

The only system that really seems to work to prevent tangles is the single-ended roller design. The cutter systems aren't cuttin' it. The only two bots that have that currently are the Roborock Qrevo Curv and the Narwal Freo Z. Both use bags, though. The Curv's biggest limitation is obstacle detection and avoidance. The Freo's biggest limitation is app functionality. Another possibility is the Shark PowerDetect 2-in-1 with the Pro base because it's probably the best bagless model, if that's important. It has combs to prevent tangles, but I haven't found definitive reviews to indicate how effective it is, and I'm skeptical.

I am very interested in the Matic from a tech POV but it seems to early to lock in into one. Both tech wise and company future-wise. They're not available in Canada yet, which makes that reasoning a lot easier. I think the Narwal is doing pretty well. Cat toys are always tricky. Some are so close to dust bunnies that it'll lead to false negatives not picking up dust bunnies.

I like my Narwal but it has gotten stuck on a pretty common Ikea chair. That really surprised me. Other than that I have been very impressed with its obstacle avoidance. Its edge cleaning also could be a lot better, I hardly ever see it do the twist. Also treshold detection. It tends to ride up to them and not clean the inch next to the treshold because of that. Toe kick cleaning is in my experience non-existent. Maybe mine are too low, I'll have to clean those 2 inches by hand.

Yeah, a robot that gets stuck is as useful as no robot imo. It's why I went for the Freo Z. Its obstacle avoidance is one of the best. Or at least was when I bought it, and it definitely has been really good in that regard. I rather have a so-so robot that doesn't get stuck than a top notch cleaner that invariably gets stuck before finishing even half of the job. If Matic goes all-over the place but doesn't get stuck, I'm good. I am also keeping an eye out on them, cuz I do like their more pragmatic approach, rather than all the bells and whistles that put more and more points of failure on the bots.

Both Dreame and Roborock are excellent choices as they provide good customer service, product updates and software development. An option I came across here on Reddit was a post from a user about a deal on the Dreame X40 Ultra from the Dreame store in LA (I subsequently posted about this deal as well). I never imaged buying the X40 as it was very expensive and initially earned a top spot on Vacuumwars. However, the LA store offered it for $548 including tax, shipping, 3-year warranty, support direct from the store, 1L cleaning solution and tri-cut brush. Needless to say, I jumped at it. It is the best performing robot I have ever tested (and I have tested a number of them). The support from the store has been superlative. In fact, they replaced my initial unit due to a couple of issues and shipped a replacement even before I return the defective unit. You call them, they answer the phone, answer your questions and follow-up. Just food for thought. Good luck to you. Can't make a mistake with any of these choices.

I find a lot of good information on YouTube and also I've had robots since they came out in the beginning cuz I was into rescuing dogs! I had three different robotic Vacuums at the same time two of them were mop combos dreamy x40 and the narwal freo z.. I liked both really well but I thought that the Narwhal was a bit better at mopping and the dreamy was better at vacuuming and also had a better battery life but since I had a robot that also vacuumed I stuck with the Z. I get a lot of information from people that have them and I also get a lot of help because people try a bunch that I haven't tried and I get to find out real world experience with them. Just like I got an e25 you fee and I'm telling people how I really think about it. I really think that they are coming a long way fast! The other difficult thing is that everybody's got a different type of house or apartment and so what works really well in one house may not work well in another.

I also use this one in mop and vacuum mode after roomba goes 1st cuz that seems to help it go closer to cabinets.. I clearly have an issue cuz I want to keep them all! They need better battery life, and faster processing to finish jobs..seems more innovation more problems so depends on your particular house but don't give up the roomba just yet lol I've had mine since it came out!! And it keeps going even with same battery it came with but I take care of it / them maintenance wise..

The Eufy is genuinely worth considering even if it has more maintenance. Its performance is just so good for mopping compared to the rest. Like FarConcern said, Freo Z is probably a great option here. IMO I'd avoid the Freo X, it does not seem like a great option at all. The curv is good for your needs, but you said the price difference is not worth it. Do you have a budget in mind at all?

Robot vacuums aren’t buy it for life. You will probably need a multi pronged approach to cleaning. Robot vacuum (I like the Narwal Freo Z) and a canister vacuum (Miele C3 brilliant or cat and dog, or Sebo airbelt e3). Try to get the canister vacuum from a local dealer to get the additional warranty and ease of service. Usually sebo is easier to service than Miele.

I just got a Narwal Freo Z last week at Best Buy for $1099. I like it so far. My floors look clean. We don't expect perfection, just get us by until the monthly deeper cleaning with a full vacuum and mop. The current Narwal iOS app has a battery drain bug I told Narwal about. They responded within 12 hours and escalated to their engineering people. Otherwise the app experience is decent, if a little wonky at times until you figure out the idiosyncrasies and options. I've had no issues with the robot at all. My firewall said the robot sent 2.5 GB to Narwal after a cleaning on Sunday. That bothers me, but I don't know that any of the Chinese manufacturers are strong for privacy. For the price I can't justify the slightly better performance, onboard water tank, and mop pad dropping from the Dreame X50 or Saros 10r. This video has a great breakdown of the three and Ecovacs T50 Pro. The video is really thorough. I recommend slowing down the playback speed, lol [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SI5wVdZeV4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SI5wVdZeV4)

I had a freo z ultra for a couple weeks and took it back for a saros 10r. Mopping on the Narwal was pretty good, vacuuming just ok. The iOS app has a pretty bad battery drain bug right now too. Also I didn’t like how much data the Narwal sent to servers. In the 2 weeks I had it, my firewall logs showed the Narwal sent over 20 GB of data. I had the remote video disabled so assume it was for vision AI analysis. Still, it shouldn’t need to send that much data. We’ll see if the Flow processes more locally. The Saros 10r by comparison has sent maybe 100 MB in a week. I’m guessing Roborock is doing more AI analysis on the robot.

I'll first point out: make sure what you get is compatible with 240V power. You don't want to fry your new robot when you get home. I'd also echo FarConcern2308's warning about warranty issues. Multi-floor support is likely to be more about the manufacturer than the model. Dreame, Roborock, and Narwal seem to be the safe choices. Eufy can do it as well, but it's a bit more annoying to use from my experience. Shark multi-floor support is basically nonexistent. iRobot is behind in navigation generally. For mopping, there are basically two choices: the Eufy S1 Pro, and everything else. Feature-wise, the S1 Pro is a bit behind the other robots; this includes things like extending mops, AI mess detection, automatic re-mopping, and the like. But the S1 Pro has the best mop on the market, in my opinion. Most of the better mops today use two spinning circular pads on the rear of the robot, but the S1 Pro uses a roller mop along with an onboard mop cleaning system and dirty water tank. This means that the mop surface is constantly being cleaned as the robot is mopping, while the other robots can only add clean water to their pads, and have to go back to the base every so often to clean them. I've got a S1 Pro, and am really happy with its mop performance; like you, I mostly need mine for hard floors. For hair tangles, my beloved S1 Pro is unfortunately middle-of-the-road, particularly on carpets. You'll need to clear the main brush axles of accumulated hair every so often even on hard floors. Dreame seems to have the best system here, with their tricut brush that can be added on to most of their newer robots. Amazingly, a budget vacuum (the Eufy L60 with self-empty station) gets top marks here as well, although the mop performance is more in line with a budget system and not very good. It doesn't sound like object avoidance is as big a deal, but just for completeness: the high-end robots from Eufy, Narwal, and Dreame are going to be best at avoiding stuff on the floor. Anything with LIDAR should be able to steer clear of taller objects, but the Eufy S1 Pro, Dreame X40 Ultra, and Narwal Freo Z have multiple front sensors and advanced software for the smaller stuff. Roborock is a step behind, generally, although there are reports that their most recent releases have improved in this area. I'll also point out that some of the manufacturers have sub-brands that are nearly as good and often cheaper. (Or super-brands; some Roborock and Dreame models are re-sold under the Xiaomi name, though not so much in the USA.) I hope that helps. Do check out the online reviews; a few good places on YouTube are Vacuum Wars, Just A Dad, and Jamie Andrews. There are also a lot of good people here, some of whom might disagree with some of my conclusions; definitely pay attention to those differences of opinion. No one robovac can do it all just yet, so the biggest thing is prioritizing your must-haves and deciding what weaknesses you can live with. Good luck!

Of those, only the Narwal Freo Z is a reasonable recommendation. The Roborock is an old model; it's decent, but for the money, you can do a lot better. The Ecovacs has terrible navigation, and the Roomba's mopping is likely to be disappointing.

I got the Narwal FREO Z recently and I like it. I'm new to robot vacuums but I had the Mova P10 Pro Ultra for about a month before and it had annoying hardware issues, which I think stem from Amazon's crappy handling of packages. The first vacuum I had the mop wouldn't raise up when it should. The second had a very annoying rattle like something was loose inside while vacuuming. I got the FREO Z exclusively because it's available at Costco and their return policy. I got it when it was on sale for $1000 but it seems like it's still out of stock. Mova (Dreame)'s app was must more optimized compared to Narwal, but it's able to do most things. My home is primarily wood floor though, and I have some rugs that it's decent at cleaning.

I have the narwal freo z. I've only had it about a month I think but I've noticed a good difference for me. I would say that almost any robot you're still going to have to get the corners now and then, and whether that's once a week or once a month for sweeping or mopping probably depends on your house. I have a couple of cats, they don't usually make huge messes but they do get litter everywhere in the kitchen near where their litter box is. One of the huge pluses for me is that I have scheduled it to tidy that up just that one zone, and around the food dishes, once a night. And I have it hit the litter area again in the morning before I get up. I schedule a daily full house vacuum, and then a full house vacuum and mop on one day of the week. One of the other big bonuses I noticed besides the cat litter is that my floor is just not normally sticky in the kitchen. This is awesome because I have a kid and teenagers like to drip things absent-mindedly or maybe conscious-mindedly.... But the point is they don't often pick up their own spills. 😂 So it helps there. I'm REALLY intrigued by this one https://amzn.to/4fVD5jF but people have warned about the quality of the company. It just came out but it's incredibly expensive. It actually extends to the wall for the mopping and has a bunch of other really cool features I'm considering.... I just don't know if the object avoidance is good as the one I have. Overall, I like the vacuum I have but there are a lot of areas that they can improve on over the next few years.

I give Matic the Platinum award for industrial design. It's friendly, fun and blends in. Most people wouldn't even know it's a vacuum. The Gold goes to Narwal. They've really cared about this since the beginning and their competitors—Roborock Curv and DJI Romo—have copied them which I also really like. Silver goes to Eufy's S1 Pro. My family calls it the "Tron vacuum" because of its translucent plastics and illuminating ring. Bronze goes to the MOVA P and V line. I like the white version and I actually prefer the glossy because it's easier to wipe clean. I'd give the Dyson 360 Nav an honorable mention just because it looks beefy, like it's ready for business and comes in a cool color.

95% of them are sponsored, so take that as you may. But the Narwal Freo Z is great at mopping as it can apply quite a bit of pressure for tile and returns to its base to wet/clean its mop pads often. It doesn’t just spin around dirty mop pads and rewet them. However, It uses a ton of water, even on its lighter settings and has poor edge mopping. Not great, but not the worst on carpet if you turn the settings all the way up. I find their cleaning algorithm annoying, but their AI avoidance is at the top. The Eufy S1 Pro is excellent at mopping (maybe the best!), terrible at carpet and lacks edge cleaning also. It’s a tank though with a nice app. I’m waiting on Roborock to do a roller. I like their app the best, but I just don’t care for rotating mop pads. I’ve been happy with my S8 Max V.

I have an inside/outside cat. He mostly ignores the Freo Z Ultra, but when they do come close to each other, it pauses just like any other obstacle. Now, I don't trust it 100% not to suck up a hairball or vomit. That's asking for trouble. My cat doesn't have accidents unless sick. Anyone that has a Eufy S1 Pro or variant knows cleaning out the onboard dirty water reservoir is a PITA. Narwal has decided to keep that reservoir internal and use some new tech/methods to keep it clean. There's a paddle in the base station that keeps the dirty water mixed and easier to suck up and the Chinese reviews that have removed the onboard reservoir after a few months of use, seem to be favorable. Personally, I think you are going to see more and more of this concept as no-one wants to clean an onboard water reservoir. You still have to clean the dirty water tank on the base station. I suspect, like the Freo Z, the Flow will use a ton of water to keep the track-style mop clean and require refilling after every 1 or 2 uses. Of my robots, the Narwal maintains the cleanest base station and mop pads. That's their trademark (because using lots of water to wash works!) and I suspect the Flow will continue that trend.

You can turn off the hot water washing feature on the Freo Z. So, I expect you'll be able to on the Flow, if you are concerned but it doesn't have an onboard heater. That water may come out warm, but by the time it fills the internal tank up, gets the track mop wet and takes off. It will cool down quickly. It's not like it's a steam mop.

If you look at the dust container before vacuuming it into the station, you can see that it even pulls dust mites/feces out of the carpets. Special vacuum cleaners only do that. I've never had this happen with any robot. I'm really impressed. Wiping is also very neat. Unfortunately the navigation doesn't really make me happy, then it would really be perfect.

Do not depend on it for mopping and it is only for nameshake, although cleaning is quite good. I am using Narwal brand Freo, but Ecovacs and Dream are also quite good with a good service network. While I do not yet own a Yeedi S14 Plus I do own a Yeedi Cube. It's been with me for a over a year now. The brand itself is essentially a sub-brand of Eco-Vac (think Lexus vs Toyota) with Yeedi being the latter. The performance has been great relative to its pricing, the parts still work well and the mop is using a single pad vibration mechanism. This is not as good as my Deebot T30's dual spinning mop pad system but it's enough to remove most winter time salt stains from my tile flooring as well as most other light to medium intensity dirt marks in a single run. IMO one of the things that makes Yeedi good is that it's durable, it's motor and mopping tech is not as competitive as Narwal or Ecovac (on purpose) but out of all the robo vacs I have owned and used it's the only one I have yet to replace a single part for (dust bin just once). People often buy robo vacs based on feats but the really good ones are the ones that last past the 12 months mark once the wear and tear really kicks in. To play the devils advocate however I will say Yeedi's app is very mediocre compared to most other brands though. In 2025 you still cannot select the number of runs per operations for example. No amount of new hardware will fix a bad app sadly. Btw this isn't some paid/affiliated propaganda lol. I have owned a Narwal Freo, Ecovac Deebot T20 and T30, Euxy X8 and the Yeedi Cube (I am a YouTube reviewer so I work with these brands) and I have owned each one for a prolonged period of time and can give you a practical take on it. My fav robo vac to date when taking budget, tech and durability in mind is my now 3 year old Eufy X8 which is old tech but it wins in longevity hands down. Hope this helps! I may review the S14 Plus next month but that's TBD. I will share my unbiased opionion on this thread if it's still open.

I think a standout feature of the Narwal that differs in real-world performance vs benchmark testing used by vacuum testing channels is that there is no restricted test parameters. So for example the narwal can sense if the area isnt clean yet and go back and clean it. So one pass over a dried stain might not be as good as another robot but if it goes back to finish and leaves a cleaner surface than a single pass during a typical mop session from a different vac, the end result is the narwal will leave the area cleaner. Now I'd perfect the smarts of the narwal paired with the best mopping capability naturally and I think the Narwal Flow will fill that niche but something I realized while doing far too much research on this is that benchmark testing doesnt tell the full story at all. It's like buying a dodge neon with a huge engine vs a porche with a slightly smaller but still big engine. Just a random musing while trying to decompress from too much research into buying a new vac lol

Ecovacs is just not as good as Narwal or the newer Roborock's model in that aspect. And if the test "fails" in that category, how can I believe other aspects of the review? Is it ust a coincidence that Ecovacs triumphes in every category with many of their robots?

I tried the Roomba first before giving the Roborock a shot—it’s like night and day for avoiding hair clumps. For mopping, Narwal’s practically the Baymax of vacuums, so no surprise it’s at the top of your list. Yeedi has some solid feedback on its roller mop tech, though I’m still a bit skeptical until I see fewer water skid marks. Also, services like ConsumerRating often have more insights on models like these if you want the nitty-gritty details. Good luck in the spring sale showdown!

I have 3 cats and two Narwhal robovacs, and they are a godsend for pet fur and tracked litter. Sometimes an upright is still needed for some tasks, but for day to day maintenance, they keep the floors looking great. I have them vac and mop.

What I am focusing most is looking at the reviews for snippets showing how robots clean edges and corners. When the robot boasts its extending mop pad/roller, and I see that because its navigation its cleaning the edges so bad it might as well have not extending mop, I take it as a signal of "we dont care if the feature is implemented properly, we care that we can boast it in marketing materials", and completely drop the brand from my considerations. So far Ecovacs and Yeedi (which have the same owner?) are especially showing bad signs of this, and I say that as someone who blindly bought their top of the line robot in about 2020, and been kinda happy with it since. When brand releases top-of-the-line robot at top-of-the-line price point with something as basic as vibrating mop pad, I cant shake of the "Lets see how many suckers will buy this if paid youtube shillers astroturf it to the moon", so there goes the Saros line, and a Roborock name gets a huge minus. Then theres Dreame, which looks solid at first glance, and after watching hundreds of videos I had to drop it too. They seem to want to be percieved as pioneers, offering retractable lidar, huge threshold crossings, and those features actually work, but the core navigation again shows that my floor would be cleaned very inconsistently, namely around edges. Then theres Narwal, a huge potential that seem to miss the mark every release. I want their Flow to finally fix their issues, but have little hope. And then theres Eufy, which to me remains the only brand limited by their technology and not programming. Missing extending mop means no edge mopping at all, but man when I look at any video how it hugs walls/chair legs, or how it navigates around corners, I am impressed. Apart from carpet cleaning performance and weak corner reach brush, they seem to done everything right, so I am waiting for what they drop next (aka S2). If they include edge extending mop+brush, I think its a clear winner for me. I dont care about carpets, the mopping is undisputed, the programming (navigation) has no match neither. Oh, and then theres Mova, which I am eagerly awaiting their Z50 Pro Ultra (which should have extending mop too), but theres so little info about that brand that I forget about them most of the time.

I don't have other comparisons, but myself (long hair) and my cat have had a Narwal for over a year and I've never once had the roller clog with hair. It's got a tapered roller and apparently this is successful in keeping hair from getting tangled.

I hope you have a great experience with Eufy, I bought S1Pro. It was cleaning beautifully, a big upgrade from my Narwal, then 8 months in I had a fan error. From that point on and about 12 emails, customer service said the same thing in each email, I had already done the troubleshooting before. Couldn’t talk to CS, finally called Amazon and they helped me get a refund…but Eufy has 30 days to issue and then Amazon takes about 2 weeks. Needless to say, I am extremely careful about my next purchase.

My GSD hates my Narwal. He especially hates when he sees the underside. I think he may think it’s a big monster. The spinning mop pads are the eyes and the flat roller brush is its mouth. Your cat, were it to get in a beef with a neighboring cat, would certainly have some impressive / intimidating muscle he could bring along.

Personally I'd get the Narwal or Eufy. Both are very good all around, but are two of the best mopping robots as well. The Q Revo Curv would be my pick if that price wasn't so astronomically inflated. It's only $1300 right now here in the US.

I just replaced my J7 and Narwal last week (2 of them). I had the M6 prior and it's simply awful. I got the Eufy e28. It's terrific. I know that you had issues years ago, but they came a long way. I've cleaned my entire house 4 or 5 times, and it barely used any water. I think that it should last weeks before refilling.

Narwal. Not the top of the line, but the next one down. It’s been really great. It adapts to changes without any issue. We really like it. I don’t know about home assist compatibility.

My dogs freaked out at first with my Narwal, but we gave them high value treats every time we started a cycle and pretty soon they ignored it. The Narwal sensors have "pet detection" so it will stop when it sees my dog in its path. Since you have cats you could take them into a room with the robot and have Churu on hand. Just let them come up and sniff it, Churu, more sniffing, Churu etc.

I bought one of the new ones and returned it for a Narwal. Much happier but Narwal needs to fire their UI people and redesign their app from the ground up.

I went with a Roomba (just the vacuum) as I liked my older model and I'm not a fan of this one so I'm trying Narwal next. Generally the Roomba is fine but the obstacle avoidance is lacking to the point where it climbs over the ground level support bars of my chairs, and therefor doesn't really clean under the kitchen table, where it often needs it most. Supposedly smart obstacle avoidance was a part of its selling features. Otherwise it's maybe a bit noisy, has a very small filter, and doesn't seem to have a lot of suction. The map seemed to work which surprised me with my past experience with them.

I have a Narwal and am pretty happy with it. That said you have no way of knowing what works for your situation without trying. That’s what the return policy is for. Just keep trying and see what works for you. As for wires - really no solution to that. Some can detect some wires some of the time. The best solution is to simply clean up the wires or prevent the vacuum from going where there are lots of wires.

I have a narwal and it's fucking awesome. With the plumbing kit it just sits in the laundry, drives itself out, cleans the house, then returns to the base station to clean its own mop pads, empty the vacuum bin and recharge. Then it does it all again the next day. I do about ten minutes of maintenance a month, that the app tells me to do, like emptying the bin or replacing the pads. It also occasionally tangles itself in stuff like string on the ground, it has a really nice vacuum system to avoid hair getting tangled though. There's also nice configurable extras like cleaning the mop pads after doing the toilet so you don't spread contamination.

My Narwal broke within a month and the warranty process was god awful. While I had it, it would ram full force into things in a way that was almost comical. Couldn't have been happier to move on to a different company, Went to Roborock in my case but the other products mentioned by others also seem interesting.

Blades are shit. Effective are the rollers that direct the hair towards one side like some dreame or narwal or to the centre like roborock
