I just bought a Narwal Freo Pro from Costco, and I'm a bit disappointed in the avoidance features. It keeps getting its mops tangled in the power cables and other charging cables on the ground.
Is there a model that has a good enough avoidance system that I wouldn't need to pick everything off the floor before running it?
No pets, 1100 sq ft, no carpet (except shower and door mats, which also causes problems for the Narwal, but at least it detects them and I can choose to avoid it in the app).
I got a pretty basic narwal freo pro recently from costco for $499 CAD that has really impressed me with its mopping! vacuuming seems good too but I am brand new to robot vacuums so have no other reference. It doesn't have auto empty but I have been just taking the bags out of the robot and manually emptying them even tho you are supposed to wait till they fill up, toss the whole bag unit and put a new one in.
narwal freo pro is a great deal at costco currently. comes with tons of accessories and is really good at mopping/vacumming, but it's my first vacuum so I don't have any other to compare it too

I'm a recent robot convert. It's nice to see that there are several brands that seem to make solid products. I got mine on black Friday sale. I got a Narwal freo pro. So far so good. If i had more area to cover I'd look into a fancier one. Went in the middle.
You dont need a robot vacuum you need a wet dry vac. They can pick up wet debris like this, and mop at the same time. I recommend the Narwal S30 Pro or the Roborock F25 Ace Pro.
If you’re regularly dealing with wet food spills like peas, rice, pasta, or veggies, a standard robot vacuum isn’t the right tool. They’re not built to handle wet debris. When that kind of mess gets pulled through the robot and into the base station, it can spread inside the tubing, spoil, smell, and become extremely difficult to clean out.
For situations like that, you’re better off with a wet-dry vacuum that’s designed to handle both liquids and solid food particles without turning into a maintenance nightmare.

Not sure why you think wet/dry vacs have some sort of cumbersome maintenance process but that’s just not the case.
Again, I don’t know why you think wet dry vacs are so cumbersome to maintain. They are specifically made to pick up wet food mess like this. The dirty water tank pops of quickly for disposal.

It’s not an outdated idea. The only roller mop that can claim less maintanence ins Narwal. Even then it’s still more maintenance that spinning mops.
On top of that they chug water and you will be refilling the tanks twice as often
They will keep a clean floor clean but they won’t clean a dirty floor.
There are trade offs. More maintenance, more complexity, high chance of failure vs spinning mops. If you deal with a lot of wet spills they’re a good choice
