"Roborock q10 s5 will suck up everything"
"best vacuuming particularly if you pair it with an auto empty dock"
"does a fantastic job cleaning. ... I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc."

"The mop visibly rise up when it detects the carpet. ... I tested it on my low pile rug, didn't had the guts to check high pile carpet. Really good device. Would highly recommend"
"Honestly it's super duper easy, you just open the top rack, take out the water tank and fill up with tap water, and click it back in. No issues whatsoever."
"it’s the vibrating type (so not purely dragging the mop around) and it does a great job with it."

"Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration."

"The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient"

"and yeah it absolutely gobbles up tiny objects. I think the avoidance of tiny obstacles is only guaranteed with robots with cameras."
"All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns."

"The only thing I don love is how difficult it is to get into the tank and to swap out the mop pad. ... With the Q10 and the dock, you have to pull the robot out of the docking station to access the mop pad because it is on the dock side ... and to remove the water tank, it doesn easily pop out of the robot from the user side. You need to left up the top lid, and then lift out the water tank."

"for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better. ... Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc."
"Carpet not so much."

20%Notes: this is a placeholder so you can bookmark. I'll begin filling this in as prices come off embargo. For a list of every single prime day deal, [go here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1ljl8wd/prime_day_deals/). These are not the cheapest robots in each band, these are my recommendations based on the final Prime Day prices. Some prices do not fall off embargo until 7/8 (Prime Day) so you may not see them until then. I will be incredibly busy during Prime Week, so may not be able to answer comments. I haven't tested every vacuum on the market, but I've tested a lot of them. Not offended if you have a differing opinion and voice that, my opinions are based on real world testing in my home, which I write about on Lifehacker. The links below will be affiliate links, you don't have to use them, but it is appreciated. # Best vacuum under $100 Controversial opinion, but I don't believe there is a best under $100. Infact, robots worth the investment under $700 are rare, as I explain in [this post.](https://www.whatrobotvacuumshouldiget.com/2025/06/20/are-budget-robot-vacuums-worth-buying/) So these robots should be viewed as tech toys you're playing around with, rather than cleaning tools that will make your life easier. Buy whatever strikes your fancy, it's unlikely to be useful as a robovac, but might be a worthy cat toy. # Best vacuum under $300 People just don't talk about the Switchbots enough in here, and I wish I knew why. Aside from having a kick ass brand identity (chonky robots that bridge a technology gap for people), they are affordable and work better than most tech products out there. I'm a huge fan of their smart home sensors and the SwitchBot button. When I got the [K10+](https://lifehacker.com/tech/switchbot-k10-plus-robot-vacuum-review) to test about 18 months ago, I was just tickled. First, it's tiny. It's like an M&M roaming your floor. At 8 inches, it cuts a tight radius around your chair legs, and can get into tiny spaces. There's no advanced tech on here, it just does a bangup job vacuuming, and then returning to its humbly small self emptying dock. Sure, there is a "mop", kinda sorta... but its just a swiffer situation, and it sucks. Ignore it (easy to do). This is a vacuum, and can more confidently manage carpet (under your bed, too!) better than most I've tried. Sure, you'll have to unclog it occasionally, but that's what you get at this price. The pro took the suction from 2500Pa to 3000Pa, which doesn't seem like much, but I can go on for hours on a nerdy rant about how much suction doesn't really matter. Whichever you get, this is the bot to beat at this price. The only interesting nugget about the 3i when I agreed to test it was that it promised to never need a water refill. i'd just finished testing the narwal Freo Z, which has to be topped up a few times a day and an autonomous robot sounded fantastic. You shouldn't like the 3i. It looks like an exhibit in a kids science museum. It weighs like 50lbs, and there is nothing notable about the robot itself. it looks like a generic robovac. I was so blown away by the performance, I haven't shut up about it since. In the history of my testing, i have kept 3 robovacs, and this is one of them. I just place new robots I'm testing in front of it, because I'm not moving that Gdamn tower for anything, it lives there now. Theres the design: these 2 forward sweeps rotate inward, and have constant downward pressure on the floor. They're huge, and very effective. The roller doesn't get clogged. Let me repeat. I let it vacuum up dog toy floof. Mulch. Receipts. NOTHING deterred this robot. And the mop was very effective, too. Was it the best mop I've tested? No. But it ranks up there. And the water cleaning actually works, I know because for a week, we had it mop up anything we could think of. Vinegar. Black dye water. Maple syrup. Tomato juice. And not only was the resulting clean water tank crystal clear, I used PH strips to test it, and it remained stable. It just metabolized anything we ran it over. It's been a few months and I've never had to refill the water, not once. It's finally an autonomous robot, and for that, it'd be worth it at $1899. But for $1139, I don't need to think about whether its better to spend less on a high end Roborock, the 3i is cheaper. |3i S10 Ultra|$1899.99|$1139.99 w code: S10USAVE5|40%|[https://amzn.to/3GsRZlm](https://amzn.to/3GsRZlm)| |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-| # Best vacuum if you have no budget Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you have thresholds The good news, since many of you are trying to decide between the Saros 10/10r and the Dreame X50 Ultra, is that I can make it easy. Get the Dreame X50. You won't like the reason I recommend it, though. It's simple: the Roborock Saros 10 is not, for reasons I don't get, on Prime Day special, only the 10R is. While the 10 and 10r are [supposed](https://lifehacker.com/tech/roborock-saros-10-vs-saros-10r-robot-vacuum-comparison) to have very similar builds with a lifting chassis, they don't act like it. The 10 is a better robot than the X50, so if you can afford it, buy it. If not, the X50 is a fine robot. Genuinely. And I never got tired of watching it yeet itself over thresholds and steps. The AI onboard helped the robot get better over time at navigation, and if anything, my only complaint is that it had to return to dock all the time to top up or recharge, so cleaning a whole house took a long time to get done. Worth mentioning: I recently tested the Mova P50 Ultra, and while I thought the robot wasn't worth the price (by a lot), it did delight me in how it sailed over thresholds but also turned sideways to actively clean the threshold itself (but don't buy it, the build sucks). |Roborock Saros 10|$1599.99|$1599.99|0|[https://amzn.to/40xGAHO](https://amzn.to/40xGAHO)| |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-| |Dreame X50 Ultra|$1699.99|1199.99|29%|[https://amzn.to/3GrCzhm](https://amzn.to/3GrCzhm)| |Roborock Saros 10R|$1,599.99|1,279.99|20%|[https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W](https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W)| # Best vacuum for pets Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you don't want a mop Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you don't want an auto-emptying tower This is absurd, you should want the tower, or there's almost no point in getting a robovac to begin with. Autonomy is the point. But, if you absolutely, totally insist, (and the Switchbot K10+ tower isn't small enough for you, because that sucker will fit anywhere), I very reluctantly offer the Roborock Q10 S5. I hated the Dyson 360Visnav, and the iRobot Roomba 205 was a total flop. r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day Recommendations by Price Band - These are the robots I'd buy ->Roborock!! I have 5 dogs plus a rotating foster dog. 2 huskies, a shepherd, a Pyrenees, and a Malinois. Foster is a shepherd/husky mix. I finally caved on prime day and got the Roborock Q10 S5+. I am EXTREMELY pleased with it. It does an awesome job at keeping up with the hair. A friend of mine also has 5 German shepherds and highly praised Roborock which is why I went with that brand. Very glad I did!!
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum for Dog Hair? 4 dogs!! ->So I got the black one for $300. Not sure why the black one is back up to $550 and the white one is still marked down to $350 lol. But I would buy this for $350! It does have the mop function though. Black Friday will probably hold another good sale if you want to hold out. But from one person with a lot of dogs to another person with a lot of dogs: this thing is life changing!!!!
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum for Dog Hair? 4 dogs!! ->I have 5 dogs + a rotating foster. 2 huskies, a GSD, a Pyrenees, and a belgian Mal. I feel your pain on the dog hair. I just got the Roborock Q10 S5+ for prime day. I am thoroughly impressed with it so far and I don’t think my floors have ever been cleaner. I do not have rugs though, hard floor only. It also is a vacuum mop combo but it does self empty. I paid $300 on prime day for the black one. The white one seems to still be priced at $350. I chose Roborock because I have a friend/fellow dog rescue volunteer that has 5 GSD’s and she spoke very very highly of her Roborock and she has an older version. I concur with her high praises!
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for german shepherds ->Definitely Roborock. [Q10 s5+ is also on sale for $349](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q10-S5-Self-Emptying-Anti-Tangle/dp/B0DWXBCQVP) with the clippable coupon. It’s the q8 max+ upgraded. Better suction power, Object avoidance and nav.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum for Dog Hair? 4 dogs!! ->Maybe the roborock Q10 S5+ since it has vibrating mops which are better than passive swiffer-like mops. Please remember to wash and dry the mops after every cleaning run. 299 USD.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot vac for floors that can't get too wet? ->I had originally bought the Q8 Max+ for $399, but a day later they released the Q10 S5+ for $379 and The Roborock website offered an additional 6% discount ($356 total), so it seemed like a no-brainer to return the Q8. I think maybe that low price was just for a few days initially, it’s now around $419. The Q10 has more suction power and the vibrating mop pad were a nice upgrade. The only thing I don’t love is how difficult it is to get into the tank and to swap out the mop pad. The Q8 with the docking station had the mop pad and the water tank facing the user and it was easy to access both without having to remove the robot from the docking station. With the Q10 and the dock, you have to pull the robot out of the docking station to access the mop pad because it is on the dock side, and to remove the water tank, it doesn’t easily pop out of the robot from the user side. You need to left up the top lid, and then lift out the water tank.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10 S5 first impressions ->I'm a new owner of the same model you linked and I can confirm it sounds suitable for you if you're happy with the price. The mop vibrates which probably means it does a slightly better job than the fully passive pad (which a lot of people here think is useless but even it helps a great deal when you don't normally mop often). The control you get within the app is pretty granular, so you can easily set up routines for rooms that might require different water levels or number of passes. Eg I've set it to double mop my tiled kitchen because it gets the worst pawprints; and mop with the lowest water level on my laminate wood floor living room. At this price point you're not going to get much in the way of automated mop cleaning and water refilling, the former of which would be a big value add for you given your disability. This is the one slightly annoying bit - having to take the mop pad off for cleaning, and dampening it before reattachment (the water provision only goes to the centre of the mop and doesn't soak to the edges when the mop is dry). I'm fully able bodied but lazy and this does bug me a bit - but I find the mopping functionality is good enough to be worth doing it. Just wanted to raise the issue in case your personal tradeoff calculation may be different. Vacuum wise it's great at picking up loads of husky hair, even on dark wood floors where it's super visible. I'm also very impressed with the job it does over rugs on a single pass (default behaviour is to boost the suction and lift the mop when it detects carpet, which works really well). Hope this helps! If you have any other everyday use questions I'm happy to answer them.
r/RobotVacuums • Budget Robot Vacuum + Mop Suggestions ->I prefer ROBOROCK as well and have used EUFY as well. Prefer ROBOROCK as it lasts more , easy to get parts , I had Eufy just for upstairs but needed more maintenance than roborock and i felt it did not get app upgrades that made it stale sooner than Roborock.. Some tested vaccum only or optional mop from roborock a d vaccum.in order or prefeence especially for long hair and dogs ( I have 2 dogs + long hair) 1) https://amzn.to/3TiJqMI Q5 Max+ roborock vaccum only, self empty 2)https://amzn.to/3SHgEoY Q10 Roborock anti tangle with a light mop if needed one in a while. Mop is ok and I have used in bathrooms etc but not like a spinner mop 3) if you want to consider Eufy then l60 is decent at the price as it's modified for pets https://amzn.to/4kZaexG with anti tangle etc
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy or roborock? ->Yes, but X20+ doesn't have anti-tangle features, so you will end up with the main brush full of hair after each cleaning session and you have to manually clean the brush after that. Roborock Q10 S5+ is the continuation of Q8 Max and is around the same price (better to check it out), and it has a comb system to detangle hair from the main brush.
r/RobotVacuums • Cat litter and lots of hair ->Get the Roborock QR 798 or Q10 PF/VF or its + variant if you want an automatic empty station included. I'm in Southeast Asia, too! I have had a Q7 TF (similar to Q10 without a vibrating mop and obstacle avoidance) for three weeks, and I love it. I mainly use it to clean hard floors and low-pile rugs. - Q10 has two versions PF (lifting mop) and VF (vibrating mop similar to S8 Max and Saros 10). The + variants included the auto-empty station. - QR 798 is similar to QRevo S but slightly cheaper at least in my country 🇮🇩 - Xiaomi X20+ quite similar to Dreame L10 series and cheaper than QR 798 and L10 (in 🇮🇩). It already has obstacle avoidance features, but unlike Roborock Q7TF and Q10 PF/VF, it doesn't have an anti-hair tangle feature. - Xiaomi X 20 Max - Dreame L10s Ultra gen 2 All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for tiles and rugs with object avoidance ->Roborock has upgrade version of Q5 max+, so if you don't have any extra needs, you can go pick between Q7 and Q10. Q10 S5+ is a nice one, greater suction power and not over-priced as well.
r/Roborock • How does one decide which Roborock to get ->Roborock has upgrade version of Q5 max+, so if you don't have any extra needs, you can go pick between Q7 and Q10. Q10 S5+ is a nice one, greater suction power and not over-priced as well.
r/Roborock • How does one decide which Roborock to get ->I couldn’t find any reviews either, but I decided to give it a try—and I’m really happy with its performance. It’s my first robot vacuum, and the Q10 VF+ has definitely impressed me, :-)
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->I recently got the Q10 VF+ as my first robot vacuum, and I’m truly pleased with it. The app is also very intuitive and user-friendly. I had considered the Q7 as well, but after comparing the features, I decided to go with the Q10 to avoid any regrets later on. A happy mind makes for a happy life...
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for tiles and rugs with object avoidance ->I also considered Xiaomi's robot vacuums, but the X20 Plus was the only model available in our area. After learning that it still requires some manual cleaning due to water dripping, I ultimately decided to go with the Q10 VF+ instead.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for tiles and rugs with object avoidance ->Hope this helps: Under $300/400 look at the Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2, roborock Q10 S5+ Under $600 look at the Mova P10 Pro Ultra, roborock Qrevo Series, Dreame L40 Ultra Under $1000 look at the Mova P50 Pro Ultra, Narwal Freo Z10, Narwal Freo Z Ultra, Dreame X40 Ultra Love Narwal for pet hair so with 2 dogs and 1 cat I think that might be the way to go with your hairy household! If I had to pick the P50 Pro Ultra, either Narwal you would be happy with. The Mova P10, Qrevo Series, L40 Ultra are very respectable as well!
r/RobotVacuums • Purchasing Recommendations ->Hey guys A quick update for those who are waiting. So I ended up buying q10v+ from jb HiFi for 662. Here are my initial thoughts, of course based on comparison with dreame d10s plus. Quality: quality is sturdy, how a few nooks here and there definitely yells out budget vacuum. For example, for the base of the system is a sticky plastic to prevent mop from leaking water. Compared to dreme, definitely dreame gets the points. Map: ok so this was new to me. Dreame used camera and lidar. Whilst mapping it went to every corner of the room to get the map working. I was tad bit surprised with roborock as it only went not even half way, but got the mapping pretty spot on. Though I would have to redo but boy was I wrong. Point roborock. Initial setup: dreame was pretty darn seamless with initial setup, however, roborock struggled a bit. We eventually got their but took us a few tries. Point dreame. App: hands down roborock. So many more options, quick and snappy. Point roborock. Overall vacuum performance: boy roborock really shows it's 10000 pa as compared to dreame 5500. Did notice it vacuumed my living area and kitchen twice even though I had to vacuum once. Seems like roborock was intelligent enough to not be happy with the first attempt. Point roborock. Battery: this one is a tough one, roborock went from 100 to 29 whilst vacuuming my living area and kitchen, where dreame used to average around 60 percent. That could also come down to higher power and having a few gos. Mop: I hated my dreame for it's mop performance. Broke down twice. Roborock also has somewhat similar mop pad but with added pressure and vibration it gets the job done. Point roborock. Overall: hands down roborock. The performance of the vacuum was so much better. Though dreame used to follow a similar pattern, it tend to miss a few craves, roborock really outshined. Quality wise I would still say dreame was better quality vacuum and base, but don't be fooled by roborocks budget tag. It's performance is far superior. Also, some might find the comparison a bit counterproductive as I am comparing a 2023 model with 2025. But for the price, this little vacuum is a must have. Thank you all.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->I love my q10 upgrade from a basic roomba. Its amazing
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->I just upgraded to a roborock q10 with mop from a basic roomba and live it so much. I feel super smug every time it does its job and it does it far better than I ever did
r/Roborock • I was a Non-Believer ->Got my Q10v today, literally got my feet up tuning it at the moment, and after a couple of hours of my willing attention it knows the house perfectly and I can deploy it to the furthest room in under 40 seconds!
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->Awesome update! I got my Q10v today and went online afterwards looking for validation that I made a good decision, thank you!
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->This is why I am hesitating on the roborock q10 pf in my country. It is the q10 x5 in US. Will the spare parts be found in 3 years? Only if sales are good enough. The spare parts if too different may not be found so easily. Like the Dreame D20 (only with charging dock) in my country that is not the Dreame D20 Ultra in any way. And so far I have been unable to find the spare parts or know its equivalent elsewhere. For my Xiaomi 1C, I have managed to find parts to it. I have sent it in to get the wheels switched out under warranty, I have changed the filters and brushes at economical prices and I have switched out the batteries twice so far. The new ones are larger capacity but cause the robot vac to be a bit haywire. Perhaps I need to service the front wheel and clean the sensors? Either way, I am undecided between the roborock q10 PF and Xiaomi S20 or S20+. The S20 seems to fit my needs as a basic vacuum and is more compact allowing it to get into slightly tight areas but feels like just a little upgrade over my 1C that still works albeit haywire sometimes. It gets fixated on areas some times. I have put furniture risers ro accommodate the LiDar puck as that was the only hindrance on the new vacuums.
r/RobotVacuums • This doesn't have to be an agonizing decision. ->YES, it is worth it. i had my doubts, and im only using the Roborock Q10V+. No better dog hair feedback than a Husky owner here!. We have two adult size huskos and the amount of dog hair this thing collects is unreal! Before, I was manually vacuuming twice daily or more, and there would always be fluff flying around regardless no matter what i did. Now dam man, I barely even touched the vacuum. I make it run 3 times a day, and it might be overkill, but honestly, the house hasnt looked better. I have not seen fluff or hair anymore. It really has taken the load off me. I highly recommend these vacs. They are fantastic! Truely something I thought i didn't need or was going to be gimmicky and it exceeded my expectations!
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->You schedule it through the app. There, you can pick different times and how strong you want it to vac, deep clean, mop, or use water options. Morning and lunch I just do regular, nighttime is deep clean. The house stays immaculate (again im going abit over kil here). The only real risk is if your dog isn’t fully toilet trained has an accident or of course gets sick. To avoid that, just don’t run it when you’re not home or place your dog in another room while you go to work. (its really up to you). If i do set my midday one. I usually aim that when im working from home. My huskies just lay there, and it cleans around them its funny as. Most pet owners worry about the “surprise smear” but it’s easy to avoid if you schedule smart. Even once a day on deep clean/max vac works great. Another tip Since my huskies shed like crazy, I pull their fur out of the bag with gloves on straight into the bin and reuse it to make it last longer. I also grabbed replacement bags from Temu to save money, and they work fine. Honestly, just fit it into your routine. I can’t go back without one. It's changed my life and has taken that whole chore and never ending battle. If this one dies, I’ll replace it straight away. Again, i have honestly found it's not gimmicky or just a "oh guess its ok." it really does clean really good and does its own thing. I legit still haven't vac'd my house in months. About the only thing I do is mop, lol. This model has better Suction then even some of the higher up models in its range for comparison. Goodluck! 😎🇦🇺
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->As ive answered this. Like i said im going overkill with 3 times a day. But that's because I'm a clean freak and I have a large place. I could honestly get away with once a day deep clean.
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->I bought the Roborock Q10 S5 during the Amazon Prime sales, 230$ before tax. It’s my first robot vacuum and I’ve be running it for less than a week and I love it. No more pet hairs, litter or pet food on the ground. I’ve used the mop function which is vibrating on this model and it’s good. I can’t speak of its performance against other robots tho. It doesn’t have a self emptying base and you need to manually wet the mop before use if you want to use it (it has a little tank of water but not enough to initially wet the entire mop) but I don’t mind for the price.
r/RobotVacuums • Budget Vacuum recs? ->I have a Q10 S5 and it’s working pretty well. It has a mop attachment but you can remove it. It navigates and avoid obstacles amazingly. Moreover if you ever feel like trying the mop, it’s the vibrating type (so not purely dragging the mop around) and it does a great job with it.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum without mop without station ->Since nobody has written anything about this model so far, I am taking care of the task. I couldn't find any direct experience with this model beyond some promotional material on youtube and the Vacuum Wars [Roborock 2025 Buying Guide](https://vacuumwars.com/ultimate-roborock-breakdown-2025-buyer-guide/) that described its features. I live alone, I have hard floors, no pets, wear no shoes inside and I was mainly looking for a vacuum-only model without a gigantic ugly dock, so that I could house the robot below my coffee table. Moreover I find the idea of having to replace bags very abhorrent: I can empty the canister myself well enough, thank you very much. Initially I ordered a Eufy C10 for 270 euros... oh boy that was the wrong choice (maybe I'll talk about it on r/eufy): I returned it after a day. Eufy's navigation was slow and awful. I then briefly considered the very cheap Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2, whose base wouldn't wouldn't have fitted under my coffee table. What really pushed me to the Q10 S5 was Roborock's famous superior navigation and the fact it has proper obstacle avoidance. The optional vibrarise 2.0 mopping system with onboard water, and 2 extra mopping pads for 300 euros in total sweetened the deal. And yeah this thing is a beast at navigating. I wish it had the extending brush like the Eufy C10 but it seems to be cleaning well even without it (and I'm sure Roborock is eager to create a new annoyingly named SKU featuring it). The app is much better than Eufy's, although Eufy's can make you edit how you want each room to be cleaned (this after always hearing Vacuum Wars saying how "granular" Roborock's app was). And yeah the mopping is great, despite hearing that the Vibrarise method isn't as effective as other mopping methods. Eventually I guess that I'll upgrade to a higher end model with a proper mop cleaning dock - one that doesn't look hideous, maybe the Curv's - when an Amazon sale comes, but for the moment I can throw the pads in the washer myself and I'm quite satisfied.
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Hi! First, a dogmatic premise: I'm a dock station hater. I don't care for the current robot docks that exist for the only purpose of washing your dirty mop pads. I find them unsightly, big, and hard to meld them into most homes' decor. Most of all, I find them highly inefficient: these things take hours to wash and dry these mop pads. All the while I could just replace those pads with some clean ones and put the dirty ones in the washing machines waiting for the next wash cycle. This works for me and the use I do of my robot. Given this situation: which would you consider to be the best almost-stand-alone **mopping robot** with no pad-washing dock (it's ok, but not necessary, if the dock puts the dust in a bag. It's also ok if the dock only charges)? It seems to me like all the most advanced mopping robots are tied to cumbersome dock stations. I currently own a Roborock Q10 S5 and I quite like, but I was wondering if something even better was out there. Does anybody know? I had my eyes on the DREAME L10s Pro Gen 2 but my real *DREAM* would be to have one with an extending brush and - I might be wrong - it doesn't seem to exist yet. Thanks for reading!
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum with no mop pad washing dock? ->Interesting! It’s like a slightly more premium version of the Q10 S5 I have. Mine has a 10000 pa of suction and a single hybrid roller (it’s not completely smooth, it has some bristles which I think help to avoid tangling) and no side sensors. And I guess the obstacle avoidance is also not as advanced as the S8’s but it’s ok as I don’t have clutter. Both have vibrarise.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum with no mop pad washing dock? ->Q8 Max wasn't really made for mopping. Since it cannot lift the passive mop, you have to detach the mop everytime you want vacuuming. Make the no mop zones a little wider, even when risking a small strip remaining not mopped. Serious multi-mode cleaning with active mop and lift for combined hard floor / carpet rooms starts with S8 or Q10 S5.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->Well, the S5 vibrates and also has a mop lift. So it's both here.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->S5 data lists VibraRise 2.0. It's the same tech als S8 Pro Ultra had. Also the name tells that the mop vibrates and is rising.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->I just picked up the same one on Amazon and so far I’m thoroughly impressed with the tech and functionalities for the price. Huge upgrade from my old Roborock E5. I read this model came out just a few weeks ago so looking forward to the overall rating and reviews!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Cheers from Canada, set mine up just a few days ago and it’s incredible!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->The one from the post, the Q10 S5.. and yes very happy. It’s excellent value!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Q10 S5(+) is best value
r/Roborock • Which model of roborock should I get to replace my old one? ->I recently got the Q10 S5 as well. The Robot vacuums fast and mopping is actually usefull. I was able to add it to Google Home, but I am unable to start specific room cleaning. It just starts full cleaning when asked to clean a specific room. Anyone managed to get specific room cleaning to work with the Q10 S5 and Google Home?
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.
r/RobotVacuums • Airzeen Q10 Pro Saug - Fake Reviews? ->The Q7 has the dock, but the Q10 has significantly better obstacle avoidance and significantly better mopping. So, the question is: which is more important to you? Self-empty base stations are definitely useful. Besides the obvious labor savings from not having to empty the robot's dustbin frequently, it helps make scheduling effective; since you're not directly interacting with the robot to cause it to clean, you tend to forget a robot on a schedule, which will lead to a clogged dustbin and ineffective cleaning in just a few weeks. Plus, most self-empty stations have a way to seal the dust bag when removing them from the station, which prevents the cloud of dust that comes from emptying the robot's dustbin. OTOH, better mopping and obstacle avoidance are also useful, so it's your call. I can't see you going wrong with either deal.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me choose: Q7 M5+ w/AutoDock ($279) vs Q10 S5 no dock ($269) ->Roborock q10 s5 will suck up everything and leave you just needing to mop.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot for mopping ->Roborock q10 s5. I have a q5 pro and it’s pretty good. But the q10 has twice the suction.
r/RobotVacuums • A great functioning robot vacuum WITHOUT self-empty feature and WITHOUT mop ->yes, worth it. I just got a Q10 S5, and it usually finishes the job where as an older wyze robot (lidar but no camera) always got stuck on stuff. it still can't see totally flat objects, but it's petty good.
r/RobotVacuums • Worth upgrading for obstacle avoidance ->I had a Qrevo Curv for almost 2 weeks. When it arrives I vacuumed all my apartment with Curv and then with my old S5. I attached an image with the S5 filter after full vacuuming after the Curv vacuum the same area. I expected S5 to get some dirt but not so much. https://preview.redd.it/3p4yx23c2n6f1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e583317de0212ac550d57f79ad68f750ae506539
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->QRevo has been great , has most of the top line functionality at a reasonable cost. Have two of them going on now. Our old S5 was still working great and relegated to basement now. Apart from accessories, the only thing I changed was the battery.
r/homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Recommendations Today for Busy Folks? ->I have a Roborock self emptying one now and mostly got that because it could vacuum and mop. Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc. but now I live in the north and with snow and ice and mud I needed mopping too. I also now only have one German shepherd, my other dogs don’t shed as much. But I also have a pot belly pig that always brings in mud. So the Roborock works great for that but for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->Don't spend $1000 on one, go for one around $350-$400 with an auto emptying dock. Roborock is my favorite. You'll get 99% the same features and function as the $1k one, and if you like it then you can get a second one and still be under $1k!
r/RobotVacuums • Are robo vacuums worth it? ->Depends on your flooring and needs If carpets - Roborock - best vacuuming particularly if you pair it with an auto empty dock (most newer models) If hardwood and no pets (Read not an inordinate amount of vacuuming) - Eufy S1 Pro - Best mopping hands down along with pretty good vacuuming
r/smarthome • What is the Best Robot Vacuum that Homeowners absolutely love and recommend? ->Thirding roborock. Love mine. I splurged on the self emptying model….totally worth it.
r/CleaningTips • Which robot vacuum is really GOOD at handling PET HAIR? ->We have two shedding dogs and we love our Roborocks. The first one, while it was fantastic filled kinda quickly (not their fault, our dogs shed A LOT) so it was a minor inconvenience to empty it halfway through it's cleaning 2700sqft. My brother became disabled so I gave him that one for his apartment. He loves it and his helper can empty it and help him with harder care items so it saves him money (he was initially being charged an hour every day for vacuuming, now he's not). The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient and does a fantastic job cleaning. I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc. Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->Get a self emptying Roborock one. Roombas are crap that are basically all about their name now. You will have to clean the fur out of some spots on it at times, but if you run it every day it will keep most of it out of the way.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->Second the OP. I'd recommend getting a Roborock or similar with self emptying vacuum. It works best on hardwood floors. Carpet not so much. Look into robots with high suction power. Like the other OP, you will still need to dyson up nooks and crannies manually, but the ability to schedule frequent self vacuum in high traffic areas cuts down on your workload significantly. The self mopping feature imo is not worth it, but maybe the newest models have improved. From experience, you will want robots that can detect animals (I've seen videos where the robot runs over the dogs tails, gets stuck, and terrifies the dogs). Also look for ones that can detect objects like poop, so you don't come home to a Jackson pollock painting. Look into the clearance height of the robot as well, and compare to your furniture if you are looking to have the robot go under couches and stuff. For example, our roborock barely fits under the couch, and even with 1 cm clearance, will avoid going under the couch if it detects the under-couch fabric is hanging too low (we fixed this by reholstering the bottom of the couch). Worth mentioning if you work from home that the self emptying vacuum feature can get loud, but it is usually very brief and you should be able to schedule emptying times. The robot vacuum companies get you on the replacement parts, which are not cheap. You do get what you pay for though, and routine maintenance (cleaning sensors, replacing brushes, untangling hair from rollers) goes a long way in longevity. I haven't found a robot vacuum that does not pick up hairs in the dog roller yet, so expect to periodically open up the robot to remove hair (usually very easy). For replacement parts, you can go third party for cheaper. Especially so when buying replacements for big brand/popular models. For example, you can get an unofficial 5 pack of vacuum bags for the self emptying vacuum for the same cost as 1 official one (or something like that). For carpets, I'd just go with those manual carpet brushes. Picks up way more hair more efficiently than any vacuum. Just my 2 cents.
r/goldenretrievers • Roomba vs Goldens? ->Roomba's have pretty subpar mapping & navigation compared to most other brands. We have one (older) Roomba that relies on VSLAM for navigation and one Roborock that uses LiDAR; the difference is night and day. I would avoid iRobot on that alone until they change their tech.
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->For the price (£250) I am very impressed with mine. Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc. Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out. Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle. Definitely does not replace vacuuming as a whole though as it just cant physically get into the corners, and the vacuum itself isnt enough to really suck stuff out of the carpet, more just pick up things on top. I treat it more like a broom than anything else, but having a pet it helps me keep on top of things.
r/gadgets • Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn ->Yes! Don’t get the Curv plus it’s cheaply built and ugly. The S8 MaxV has premium materials. They are all plastic but the Curv and Q series feel flimsy.
r/Roborock • Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Review from a 7-Cat Household ->You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol
r/Roborock • Upgrading from Roborock S6 MaxV – Best Model for Pet Hair? ->The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
