"but now I live in the north and with snow and ice and mud I needed mopping too. ... But I also have a pot belly pig that always brings in mud. So the Roborock works great for that"

"for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better. ... Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc."
"Carpet not so much."
Here in Australia we have a Q10V plus. Similar situation where I couldn't find a review on it but decided to go ahead with it. Absolutely love the device. I did a quick this vs my dreame d10s plus (previous vacuum) after my usage with the device. Here's the subreddit if anyone would be interested: https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kidons/roborock_q10v_vs_others/
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Hey guys A quick update for those who are waiting. So I ended up buying q10v+ from jb HiFi for 662. Here are my initial thoughts, of course based on comparison with dreame d10s plus. Quality: quality is sturdy, how a few nooks here and there definitely yells out budget vacuum. For example, for the base of the system is a sticky plastic to prevent mop from leaking water. Compared to dreme, definitely dreame gets the points. Map: ok so this was new to me. Dreame used camera and lidar. Whilst mapping it went to every corner of the room to get the map working. I was tad bit surprised with roborock as it only went not even half way, but got the mapping pretty spot on. Though I would have to redo but boy was I wrong. Point roborock. Initial setup: dreame was pretty darn seamless with initial setup, however, roborock struggled a bit. We eventually got their but took us a few tries. Point dreame. App: hands down roborock. So many more options, quick and snappy. Point roborock. Overall vacuum performance: boy roborock really shows it's 10000 pa as compared to dreame 5500. Did notice it vacuumed my living area and kitchen twice even though I had to vacuum once. Seems like roborock was intelligent enough to not be happy with the first attempt. Point roborock. Battery: this one is a tough one, roborock went from 100 to 29 whilst vacuuming my living area and kitchen, where dreame used to average around 60 percent. That could also come down to higher power and having a few gos. Mop: I hated my dreame for it's mop performance. Broke down twice. Roborock also has somewhat similar mop pad but with added pressure and vibration it gets the job done. Point roborock. Overall: hands down roborock. The performance of the vacuum was so much better. Though dreame used to follow a similar pattern, it tend to miss a few craves, roborock really outshined. Quality wise I would still say dreame was better quality vacuum and base, but don't be fooled by roborocks budget tag. It's performance is far superior. Also, some might find the comparison a bit counterproductive as I am comparing a 2023 model with 2025. But for the price, this little vacuum is a must have. Thank you all.
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->Q10 X5 is a strange thing. The mop does not vibrate, but has a lift. Maybe it can do equally well with mixed floor type rooms. But honestly if mopping is a real concern, I would always pick an active scrubbing robot. They are so much more effective with dried stain.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->Just got the Roborock Q10 X5+. We have a very shedding English Retriever and this thing is great. We absolutely love it. So far no issues with hair getting stuck etc. It does an amazing job with obstacle avoidance also. App is great and very easy to use.
r/RobotVacuums • Which model is best at obstacle avoidance and not tangling hair? ->i recently caved and bought one too lol. i was on a budget so i went with this one. i chose it because it had the highest suction power available within my budget. i've been really happy with it so far. i have found that sometimes the lidar thinks the big fur clumps are an actual obstruction, so i usually go around the room with my hand vac real quick to get the big clumps before i let the robot vac do its thing. https://a.co/d/6DfeqXE
r/germanshepherds • We are finally caving in… which roomba do you use? 😂😩 ->For the Q10, it's the X5 version that could lift its mop pad, and I see on Amazon it's not released yet. S5 is the vibrating version that is now available on Amazon.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->Get the Roborock QR 798 or Q10 PF/VF or its + variant if you want an automatic empty station included. I'm in Southeast Asia, too! I have had a Q7 TF (similar to Q10 without a vibrating mop and obstacle avoidance) for three weeks, and I love it. I mainly use it to clean hard floors and low-pile rugs. - Q10 has two versions PF (lifting mop) and VF (vibrating mop similar to S8 Max and Saros 10). The + variants included the auto-empty station. - QR 798 is similar to QRevo S but slightly cheaper at least in my country 🇮🇩 - Xiaomi X20+ quite similar to Dreame L10 series and cheaper than QR 798 and L10 (in 🇮🇩). It already has obstacle avoidance features, but unlike Roborock Q7TF and Q10 PF/VF, it doesn't have an anti-hair tangle feature. - Xiaomi X 20 Max - Dreame L10s Ultra gen 2 All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for tiles and rugs with object avoidance ->I love my q10 upgrade from a basic roomba. Its amazing
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->I just upgraded to a roborock q10 with mop from a basic roomba and live it so much. I feel super smug every time it does its job and it does it far better than I ever did
r/Roborock • I was a Non-Believer ->Got my Q10v today, literally got my feet up tuning it at the moment, and after a couple of hours of my willing attention it knows the house perfectly and I can deploy it to the furthest room in under 40 seconds!
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->Awesome update! I got my Q10v today and went online afterwards looking for validation that I made a good decision, thank you!
r/RobotVacuums • Roborock Q10V+ vs Others ->This is why I am hesitating on the roborock q10 pf in my country. It is the q10 x5 in US. Will the spare parts be found in 3 years? Only if sales are good enough. The spare parts if too different may not be found so easily. Like the Dreame D20 (only with charging dock) in my country that is not the Dreame D20 Ultra in any way. And so far I have been unable to find the spare parts or know its equivalent elsewhere. For my Xiaomi 1C, I have managed to find parts to it. I have sent it in to get the wheels switched out under warranty, I have changed the filters and brushes at economical prices and I have switched out the batteries twice so far. The new ones are larger capacity but cause the robot vac to be a bit haywire. Perhaps I need to service the front wheel and clean the sensors? Either way, I am undecided between the roborock q10 PF and Xiaomi S20 or S20+. The S20 seems to fit my needs as a basic vacuum and is more compact allowing it to get into slightly tight areas but feels like just a little upgrade over my 1C that still works albeit haywire sometimes. It gets fixated on areas some times. I have put furniture risers ro accommodate the LiDar puck as that was the only hindrance on the new vacuums.
r/RobotVacuums • This doesn't have to be an agonizing decision. ->Roborock has upgrade version of Q5 max+, so if you don't have any extra needs, you can go pick between Q7 and Q10. Q10 S5+ is a nice one, greater suction power and not over-priced as well.
r/Roborock • How does one decide which Roborock to get ->YES, it is worth it. i had my doubts, and im only using the Roborock Q10V+. No better dog hair feedback than a Husky owner here!. We have two adult size huskos and the amount of dog hair this thing collects is unreal! Before, I was manually vacuuming twice daily or more, and there would always be fluff flying around regardless no matter what i did. Now dam man, I barely even touched the vacuum. I make it run 3 times a day, and it might be overkill, but honestly, the house hasnt looked better. I have not seen fluff or hair anymore. It really has taken the load off me. I highly recommend these vacs. They are fantastic! Truely something I thought i didn't need or was going to be gimmicky and it exceeded my expectations!
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->You schedule it through the app. There, you can pick different times and how strong you want it to vac, deep clean, mop, or use water options. Morning and lunch I just do regular, nighttime is deep clean. The house stays immaculate (again im going abit over kil here). The only real risk is if your dog isn’t fully toilet trained has an accident or of course gets sick. To avoid that, just don’t run it when you’re not home or place your dog in another room while you go to work. (its really up to you). If i do set my midday one. I usually aim that when im working from home. My huskies just lay there, and it cleans around them its funny as. Most pet owners worry about the “surprise smear” but it’s easy to avoid if you schedule smart. Even once a day on deep clean/max vac works great. Another tip Since my huskies shed like crazy, I pull their fur out of the bag with gloves on straight into the bin and reuse it to make it last longer. I also grabbed replacement bags from Temu to save money, and they work fine. Honestly, just fit it into your routine. I can’t go back without one. It's changed my life and has taken that whole chore and never ending battle. If this one dies, I’ll replace it straight away. Again, i have honestly found it's not gimmicky or just a "oh guess its ok." it really does clean really good and does its own thing. I legit still haven't vac'd my house in months. About the only thing I do is mop, lol. This model has better Suction then even some of the higher up models in its range for comparison. Goodluck! 😎🇦🇺
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->As ive answered this. Like i said im going overkill with 3 times a day. But that's because I'm a clean freak and I have a large place. I could honestly get away with once a day deep clean.
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->I have a Roborock self emptying one now and mostly got that because it could vacuum and mop. Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc. but now I live in the north and with snow and ice and mud I needed mopping too. I also now only have one German shepherd, my other dogs don’t shed as much. But I also have a pot belly pig that always brings in mud. So the Roborock works great for that but for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->Don't spend $1000 on one, go for one around $350-$400 with an auto emptying dock. Roborock is my favorite. You'll get 99% the same features and function as the $1k one, and if you like it then you can get a second one and still be under $1k!
r/RobotVacuums • Are robo vacuums worth it? ->Thirding roborock. Love mine. I splurged on the self emptying model….totally worth it.
r/CleaningTips • Which robot vacuum is really GOOD at handling PET HAIR? ->We have two shedding dogs and we love our Roborocks. The first one, while it was fantastic filled kinda quickly (not their fault, our dogs shed A LOT) so it was a minor inconvenience to empty it halfway through it's cleaning 2700sqft. My brother became disabled so I gave him that one for his apartment. He loves it and his helper can empty it and help him with harder care items so it saves him money (he was initially being charged an hour every day for vacuuming, now he's not). The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient and does a fantastic job cleaning. I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc. Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->Get a self emptying Roborock one. Roombas are crap that are basically all about their name now. You will have to clean the fur out of some spots on it at times, but if you run it every day it will keep most of it out of the way.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->Second the OP. I'd recommend getting a Roborock or similar with self emptying vacuum. It works best on hardwood floors. Carpet not so much. Look into robots with high suction power. Like the other OP, you will still need to dyson up nooks and crannies manually, but the ability to schedule frequent self vacuum in high traffic areas cuts down on your workload significantly. The self mopping feature imo is not worth it, but maybe the newest models have improved. From experience, you will want robots that can detect animals (I've seen videos where the robot runs over the dogs tails, gets stuck, and terrifies the dogs). Also look for ones that can detect objects like poop, so you don't come home to a Jackson pollock painting. Look into the clearance height of the robot as well, and compare to your furniture if you are looking to have the robot go under couches and stuff. For example, our roborock barely fits under the couch, and even with 1 cm clearance, will avoid going under the couch if it detects the under-couch fabric is hanging too low (we fixed this by reholstering the bottom of the couch). Worth mentioning if you work from home that the self emptying vacuum feature can get loud, but it is usually very brief and you should be able to schedule emptying times. The robot vacuum companies get you on the replacement parts, which are not cheap. You do get what you pay for though, and routine maintenance (cleaning sensors, replacing brushes, untangling hair from rollers) goes a long way in longevity. I haven't found a robot vacuum that does not pick up hairs in the dog roller yet, so expect to periodically open up the robot to remove hair (usually very easy). For replacement parts, you can go third party for cheaper. Especially so when buying replacements for big brand/popular models. For example, you can get an unofficial 5 pack of vacuum bags for the self emptying vacuum for the same cost as 1 official one (or something like that). For carpets, I'd just go with those manual carpet brushes. Picks up way more hair more efficiently than any vacuum. Just my 2 cents.
r/goldenretrievers • Roomba vs Goldens? ->Roomba's have pretty subpar mapping & navigation compared to most other brands. We have one (older) Roomba that relies on VSLAM for navigation and one Roborock that uses LiDAR; the difference is night and day. I would avoid iRobot on that alone until they change their tech.
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->For the price (£250) I am very impressed with mine. Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc. Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out. Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle. Definitely does not replace vacuuming as a whole though as it just cant physically get into the corners, and the vacuum itself isnt enough to really suck stuff out of the carpet, more just pick up things on top. I treat it more like a broom than anything else, but having a pet it helps me keep on top of things.
r/gadgets • Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn ->So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.
r/RobotVacuums • Airzeen Q10 Pro Saug - Fake Reviews? ->Yes! Don’t get the Curv plus it’s cheaply built and ugly. The S8 MaxV has premium materials. They are all plastic but the Curv and Q series feel flimsy.
r/Roborock • Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Review from a 7-Cat Household ->You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol
r/Roborock • Upgrading from Roborock S6 MaxV – Best Model for Pet Hair? ->The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
