"the self emptying vacuum feature can get loud"
I would recommend Roborock Q5+ Pro it has self emptying dock you just need to change vacuum bags when it's full. I have 2 cats and before I got mine I had to vacuum every single day. And after I started using it there's no hair on the floors, and it's also really good on the carpets. It deals with long hair well not getting tangled on the rollers. Also Roborock's app is the best in the business you got various of features you can choose to get the most of your robot. Q5+ pro is not really made for mopping even though it has that ability, but I only care about vacuuming since I mop myself anyways. And it has no obstacle avoidance but if you pick stuff up from floors that can be sucked up you got nothing to worry about, obstacle avoidance has gotten overrated imo some more expensive models with that function still sucks things up as it's no guarantee. Save some extra bucks and go with the Q5+ pro. Hope this helps:) Cute puppy btw
r/RobotVacuums • I need recommendations for an easy to use robot vacuum! ->Roborock Q5 pro+
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum - Don't care about Mop ->It is the best bang for the buck if you don't care the slightest about mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum - Don't care about Mop ->5500Pa suction is good enough to do vacuuming it's enough to pick up screws and other heavier smaller debris than normal dust. I have owned one of these and they are also good on carpets due to the dual roller system. The models with higher suction also comes with more focus on mopping performance
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum - Don't care about Mop ->I have Roborock Q5 Pro+ with self empty station I would recommend it to 100% I would say if you don't care about how well it mops, but the vacuum part is insanely good and doing really good on big carpets. I have also 2 cats and the floors are spotless from hair after a cleaning session. I picked it up for around $400 on sales. Also Roborock's app is the best in the business.
r/RobotVacuums • Planning to Buy a Robot Vacuum: Should I Try a New Brand? ->Object avoidance is a joke on my master. It offers zero tangible improvement over my Q5 Pro+ with LIDAR alone. The only redeeming factor of the camera is being able to see where the vacuum is - and / or help rescue it if it indeed got stuck on something.
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->These models should be under 500 in the US, please share your purchasing region (usually country). The Q5 Pro Plus is a good choice.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum for shag carpets? ->For a vacuum only option, the Q5 Pro is a good workhorse :)
r/RobotVacuums • UK Recommendations ->Maybe a refurbished roomba for carpets but navigation is an option. A roborock would be better at navigation. The Q5 Pro with no autoempty station would be better at not disturbing people if it will autoempty during working hours but the Q8 Max+ or the Q5 Max+ can be considered if you’d like one with an autoempty station.
r/RobotVacuums • office carpet - 70sqm. - best value for money vacuum robot? ->What’s your purchasing region? Perhaps the Roborock Q5 duoroller model with no self empty station or the Eufy L60 would be a good choice.
r/RobotVacuums • 650 sqft Apt, no carpet, robot vacuum recommendations ->The roborock Q5 Pro+ is a popular model that seems to last rather long with proper care. The dual rubber brushes do best to pick up fur and hair, especially on carpets, and will best resist tangles.
r/RobotVacuums • Q5pro+ eufy l60, eufy x8pro ? The decision is stressing me out ->If I were you, I’d spend a bit more for a combo and look for a reliable and good vacuum only model for the top carpet only floor which is generally cheaper than a combo model. I’d also consider the dreame L40S Pro Ultra (£799) is going to be better for heavy fur shedders since it has the onboard fur compression feature which works when it’s vacuuming to best utilize the dustbin’s space that has a volume of 395mL. The dual brushes mean it’s better for fur pickup on carpets but won’t be as good for just vacuuming carpets compared to vacuum only models . The E25 will be better for raw mopping performance which is better suited for homes with more hard floors than carpet. The E25 will also be a good option for the bottom floor. I’d get something like a cheap second hand roomba or a roborock Q5 or Q8 with or without an autoempty station for the upper floor.
r/RobotVacuums • Narrowed my choices down to 3 options - which one do you recommend? ->Vacuum only: roborock q5 or q8 max+ or the switchbot k10+ with a tangle resistant all rubber brush. Vacuum and mop combo: MOVA P10 Pro ultra at 399 (I think on Amazon US). This is a de facto last gen flagship and the antitangle TriCut brush (may ship in a bundle or needs to be bought separately from MOVA/dreame but AliExpress resellers can be cheaper) worked great with my long fur corgi’s fur and tumbleweeds. This one is least likely to get stuck compared to the previous options. Compared to other vacuum and mop combos under 400 which are solid budget robots, the p10 pro ultra blows them out of the water. As for the curved legs, I think the MOVA may at first try to ride up them then eventually learn how to properly avoid them. I have the MOVA V50 ultra and after it humped tripod legs on the first day, it was able to “learn” how to smoothly follow the tripod legs and avoid riding up on them on the third day (second day produced mixed results).
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum for german shepherds ->That’s fair! My home simply is fur mayhem so I love the autoemptying. Check out the roborock q5 or q8 without an autoempty dock.
r/RobotVacuums • Another request for best vacuum for pet hair ->I literally just purchased a Q5 Pro+ for $360. Is it worth switching to the max instead? Scared to open my package now haha.
r/RobotVacuums • First time buying a robot vacuum, recommendations needed ->Q7 is outdated. Q5 is the better and even cheaper successor. Don't be fooled by the "5" vs. "7". Q8 is the same as Q5 but with obstacle avoidance. Q7 and Q5 have none. Still don't trust the Q8 avoiding pet waste. It works most of the time but never risk an accident. With the idea of running 2x a day the "+" dock is surely a must-have.
r/Roborock • Best Roborock under $400? ->Roborock S5 was such a low complexity model, going strong for many years. Now with more recent models, vacuum-only limits the search to Q5, Q7, Q8. Most of these claim to be "vac + mop combo" but that's just a passive cloth dragged behind. Not really worth discussing. They all have very good mapping and navigation in common. Roborock is famous for that and even the cheapest model does the job well. So depending on what you want, what you actually need, you might be perfectly satisfied with a Q7 M5+ or Q8 Pro+. One thing to note, Spending more money on a Roborock doesn't automatically mean the robot would be built with higher quality and last longer. It has just more features then. More motors, more moving parts, more wear and tear. Second note, Prices do not necessarily reflect the value. Roborock has some strange pricing strategy that no-one understands. For example, Q5 Pro+ is currently at $600 which is insanely expensive and cannot be recommended right now. I guess there's some tariff glitch included whatever.
r/Roborock • What's Roborock's best vacuum-only model for long-term use? ->Q5 is NOT an everyday mopper. The mop is completely passive, does no scrubbing, and you have to wash and mount/unmount it yourself all the time. I.e. cannot go over carpet while mop is attached. Really serious active mopping starts with Qrevo, which comes with a full automated washing dock and water management. Even much better than the standard S7+ was. You can make a good deal on this during Prime sales.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->You are right. I didn't expect the Q5 still being available anywhere so I had Pro in mind.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->Q5 / Q7 / Q8 aren't real combos. They have a mop add-on for occasional use. That's cheap, has no motors and consists of a plastic plate with a cloth. Worth $20 maybe, added manufacturing cost somewhat <$5. So almost all models have these add-ons so they can be sold as "combo". Real mopping starts with scrubbing robots like S8, Q10 S5 or Qrevo.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->If you don't want to use mopping, save some money. Consider Q5, Q7 or Q8 instead of the S8. Q7 economy price but louder (because older model) Q5 silent Q8 is similiar as Q5 but with obstacle avoidance sensors
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->Yes. Navigation and mapping is excellent on all currently available models. There are no noticeable differences. That's what Roborock is famous for. The laser scanner turret on top of the robot is doing an awesome job.
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->If you go ahead with the replacement, here are three options -- two that are common recommendations, and one that's new as of this year, but may be worth a look. If you're wanting to change brands, look at the Roborock Q5 series. The Max+ has no mop, while the Pro+ has a mop. I only mention the Pro+ because a few of the sales seem to have the Pro+ cheaper than the Max+, and the only difference is the presence of the mop, so check which one is cheaper. Both have a dual-roller brush, which is reported to do better with hair tangles. If Eufy is still on your list, there are two interesting options. The L60 SES/Hybrid is a pretty good option. The Hybrid has a mop; same story as the Roborock. It has a blade in the base station that cuts hair tangles off the roller. If you're willing to take a little risk, Eufy just released the E20. It's a bit pricey, but is essentially a vacuum unit that can be used as a vacuum-only robot, a handheld cordless vac, or a cordless stick vac. You can switch back and forth pretty much at will. It's risky because it's new, and pretty much all the reviews available are sponsored, so of course the E20 is revolutionary and game-changing. :-) Independent reviews and real user reports are starting to come out, but it's still pretty slim pickings. Of your requested features, the one you might have to compromise on is the obstacle avoidance. For whatever reason, the manufacturers don't put the best obstacle avoidance on vacuum-only robots. All of the above have some level of obstacle avoidance, but your current X10 is going to be better than pretty much all of them (with the possible exception of the E20).
r/RobotVacuums • Best vacuum only (no mop) robot vacuum for hardwood, tile and one low pile rug? ->Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back. The S8 also has a pad attached to the back, but includes a scrubbing motion via a plate that vibrates at a high speed. It's better than the Q5 and Q8. The best mopping will be on the Qrevo and Eufy X10. They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock. Of the last two, each has its strengths and weaknesses. The X10 will be better at obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo is a Roborock, which has a better reputation for quality and reliability than the Eufy, and is also rated a little better than the Eufy at a lot of things: vacuuming performance, mopping performance, etc. It also can swing out one of its mop pads for better edge and corner cleaning, something the Eufy can't do. In some cases, obstacle avoidance is really critical, in which case I'd recommend the Eufy. Otherwise, the Qrevo is likely your best bet.
r/RobotVacuums • Home Depot sale. Are these a good buy? ->Sort of. There's also the Eufy L50 and L60 models, which are almost the same except for less suction and a lower price for the L50. Also look at the new Roomba 105 and 705, many Shark models, and the Dyson 360 Vis Nav. As always, check reviews; the Roombas in particular haven't reviewed well. What's more common is a vacuum-only robot with a stationary mop pad that's just stuck on the bottom. Technically, it's a combo with mopping, but the mop is just an add-on, and can be ignored. An example of this is the Roborock Q5 Pro and Pro+, which is the Q5 Max and Max+ with a mop tacked on and a few cosmetic changes. Sometimes, the Pro is even cheaper than the Max, which makes the Pro the smart buy. Just throw the mop plate in a drawer or in the trash. Be careful, though, that you're not sacrificing dustbin space for the water tank. The very similar Roborock Q7 M5 does this, while the Pro has the water tank as part of the mop plate. The most notable model that technically supports mopping, but only as an add-on, is the SwitchBot K10+. It comes with little disposable mopping cloths that attach to hooks on the back of the robot. Ignore the cloths, and you have a very good small robot that can get into lots of tight spaces and which has been reviewed to vacuum well.
r/RobotVacuums • Is the Roborock Q5 MAx+ still the best mop-less robot vac? ->Sort of. There's also the Eufy L50 and L60 models, which are almost the same except for less suction and a lower price for the L50. Also look at the new Roomba 105 and 705, many Shark models, and the Dyson 360 Vis Nav. As always, check reviews; the Roombas in particular haven't reviewed well. r/RobotVacuums • Is the Roborock Q5 MAx+ still the best mop-less robot vac? ->So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.
r/RobotVacuums • Airzeen Q10 Pro Saug - Fake Reviews? ->I wouldn't buy a shark from complaints I've seen on reddit, I have owned the l60 and the Q5 Pro which is pretty much the same as the Q5 Max but has the water tank. The L60 only has a 2600 mah battery compared to 5200 mah battery for the Q5 Max and the L60 seemed to bounce along low pile carpet for me and I've seen other people complain the same thing. I'm very happy with the Q5 Pro. Good Luck
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->I had a Eufy L60 SES and the problem with it was that it only has a 2600 mah battery compared to the Roborocks standard 5200 mah battery. I did return it and got a Roborock Q8 Max + and like it much better. Another problem with the L60 is it seemed to hop along carpets rather than run smooth across the carpet. The Q8 Max has 5the electronic pump water for mopping which is just drag behind mopping. If you don't care about mopping I think your best bet would be the Roborock Q5 Pro +. It has a water tank on it for mopping but it really is useless because it is just gravity fed water and many times doesn't even wet the floor. That will do a good job of mopping and vacuuming. They are good at cleaning and navigating. You can set them on a schedule or run whenever you want. They are both still at black Friday prices and are a steal at these prices.
r/RobotVacuums • I'm searching for my first robot vacuum under a budget! ->For just vacuuming you should look at the Q5 Max+, Q5 Pro+ or the Q8 Max+. For the Q8 Max Plus you are paying extra for the electronic water pump for mopping that the Q5 products don't. You can compare up to three Roborock products at the following link Good Luck [https://us.roborock.com/pages/robot-vacuum-cleaner-compare](https://us.roborock.com/pages/robot-vacuum-cleaner-compare)
r/Roborock • What is the best model for just vacuuming? ->The Q7 only has 4200 pascals of suction and I believe is on close out. The Q5 and Q8 both have 5500 pascals of suction.
r/Roborock • What is the best model for just vacuuming? ->I have two long hair dogs and a long hair cat and cannot live without a robot vacuum to help keep hair off the floor. I’ve had multiple Roombas, including the fancy ones that take a dirt dump into the self-contained bag. In the spring, mine crapped out and i decided to shop around. Roomba QC has deteriorated and the replacement rollers, etc. are crap and crazy expensive. I replaced it with a Roborock Q5 Pro + and have never looked back. It’s crazy quiet, the mapping is excellent, and in the almost six months that i’ve had it, i haven’t had to replace the rollers or spin brush once (unlike Roomba, which had its spin brush break every three weeks.) And it’s so much less expensive than a Roomba
r/malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly picked during this time period? ->I recently went from a s5 Max to a q5 pro+ and im super happy. It gets alot more from the corners and general dust/debree. The old struggled to pick up the small litterbox grains that the cats drag out with them, no problem for the q5 pro+. Its relatively reasonable priced in my country atleast. You can get the same model without the dust collector station for cheaper aswell.
r/Roborock • S6 MaxV as first Roborock? ->I've bought the eufy x8 pro SES 2 days ago, but it still get tangled with long hair, x8 pro SES and L60 SES is same price here, so I chose the x8, but I don't think it's worth the extra $200 for you. For Q5 pro+ I've found that it doesn't have no mop zone option, that will be a deal breaker if you have carpets/rugs which you don't want to get mopped. So I would suggest you to go for the L60, the hair cutter in base station might be helpful, but don't expect much, so far my understanding is all robot vacuums struggle with long hair, so be prepared to untangle manually occasionally.
r/RobotVacuums • L60 vs X8 Pro vs Q5 Pro+ ->It's the same product, only the pro has the mop feature (which is useless anyway), so if you don't need the mop and the products are the same price, you can keep your q5 pro+ and just use it as a vacuum.
r/RobotVacuums • First time buying a robot vacuum, recommendations needed ->So we have a Q5 Pro +. At the current Amazon prime deal, it's within your budget. We had an Anker G30 hybrid before, which was ok but not great cause we have a dog that sheds hair like mad, and it wasn't managing. We still needed to do a manual vacuum once a week at least. The Q5 is so much better though, and does a thorough job on it's own. Mapping was quick and easy, but apparently, it's not amazing at mopping. If you not worried about that like we aren't, then it's definitely a strong contender.
r/RobotVacuums • Advice on best robovac for carpeted apartment (~$150–$250, like-new on marketplace) ->I have the q5+. I suspect that it is house geometry, obstacle, and rug specific, but I find mine gets lost and stuck a lot, and has trouble picking those pesky little black sock bits out of my white carpets. It requires a lot of babysitting for me. I would be surprised if it is really the best, though I still find it useful and am glad that I have it.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum - Don't care about Mop ->But to answer your question, look for the roborock Q5 pro+. I believe that is the auto empty robot. Maybe the Q5 Pro is cheaper and without the auto empty. Regardless, buy a refurbished one directly from roborock on eBay. It will come with 2 year warranty backed by all state. If any issues happen after the 1st year, all state will fix or refund you the entire amount you paid. This paid off for me with my previous ecovacs robot.
r/RobotVacuums • Simple robot vacuum, what to buy? ->But to answer your question, look for the roborock Q5 pro+.
->Look at the Roborock Q5 Pro + for currently half the price on their web site. Most vacuum specs are largely nonsense in the real world. What you want for pet is double rollers and a bin that big enough to not tangle pet hairs in the rollers.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair? ->The dock is nice for people with pets, as some would need to empty the bin daily. But I agree that for vacuuming there is no reason to buy the more expensive models except that Roborock prefers to have more of your money. The Q series has the full Lidar system and the nice software. I went from S6 to Q5 and now also have the Q5 Pro +. There is little difference in vacuuming performance since I've owned the Roomba Red 20 years ago. I have hardwood floors, and would never regularly robomop. So I don't know about mopping performance. Eufy is another high value brand to consider. But I stick with Roborock for performance and software.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair? ->Yes, it will do the job.👍 The dust bin is quite big and it's easy to remove hairs from the rollers if anything get stucked.
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->I use roborock q5 pro, i belive that should be in your range. I have 3 cats(2sibs) and have this running downstairs where toilets are 2x/daily and im happy. Once budget allows it a dyson handheld vacuum is also life changing xD
r/SiberianCats • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Hair? Best options under $200? ->Good to know, thanks. Our old Wyze had to stop and recharge in our single-story house but Q5 Pro has better battery life so I think it will get the job done on a single charge no matter what setting we use.
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->For someone with multiple dogs that shed, it’s a godsend. I have all carpet, so I got a dual rubber roller model with high suction (Roborock q5 pro). I still vacuum with my big Dyson once or twice a week for a proper deep clean, and it does pull up a good amount of dirt, but the robot vac does do the day to day for me just fine.
r/homeautomation • Can robot vacuum truly deep clean your home? ->I bought the Roborock Q5 pro about 6 months ago based on the recommendation of vacuum wars. It is still holding up as well as it did the day I bought it. It's not as powerful as an upright vacuum but scheduling it to vacuum once a day and cleaning the brushes once a week keeps on top of the hair from 2 cats very well. I don't even vacuum anymore I just set off the robot while I clean up the rest of the house, it's especially good for hard floors and also has a mop pad it drags behind itself which doesn't really mop but instead picks up the smaller particles the vacuum isn't strong enough to capture.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I have this same vacuum! Yes, the ends pop off to make cleaning easy. I run the vacuum daily so I have to do it every other day or so. Kinda frustrating but it’s not hard and I guess it’s better than it being on the floor.
r/RobotVacuums • How often do you all have to clean hair from the edges of the rubber brushes? ->I have been a faithful user of iRobot for over a decade. However. My latest (expensive) Roomba looks like an absolute JOKE compared to the Roborock Q5 Pro & Q5 Max Plus that I now own. I have three stories plus a sunken living room so a plethora of robots.
r/homeimprovementideas • Robot vacuum for home - what is the best under $500 ->I got a Roborock Q5 Pro in November and have been really impressed with how well it handles pet hair. Unlike the other model the hair almost never gets tangled up around the brushes but it still clearly does a good job vacuuming the area rugs. I generally prefer roborock over other brands because they have excellent lidar navigation. My oldest one is ~5 years old and doing fine, but has been relegated to the upstairs.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->Based on what you shared, I would rank them like this: Roborock Q5 Pro then Q7 M5 then Q10 S5. I put the Roborock Q5 Pro first because of its High suction (5,500 Pa) great for feathers, pellets, dust. No frills — mopping is minimal, which suits your needs. Simple, affordable, and reliable navigation. Handles small obstacles if floor is mostly tidy. And it is within your budget. Q7 M5 is Decent unit but lower suction, older motor design. Mop lift is nice but you don’t care for mopping. Usually more expensive than Q5 Pro despite less suction. Q10 S5 is a Great vacuum, strong suction and smarter sensors. But unless on big discount, it’s outside your budget. You will have to pick up small toys regularly if you go with Q5 Pro since it doesn’t have advanced AI object avoidance like the Q10. If you're okay with buying used or refurbished, the Q10 S5 may be a killer deal if found under €280. If you have more specific needs, [this comparison](https://technoranks.com/compare-products/?compareids=1969,2343,2342,1931) table would help. Good luck.
r/RobotVacuums • [Advice] Choosing Roborock — Q7 M5 vs Q10 S5 vs Q5 Pro? ->Absolutely love my Omni S1 Pro and Q5 Pro.
r/RobotVacuums • I analyzed the 25 most recommended robot vacuums on Reddit ->The omni is excellent at mopping and cleaning, good edge clean and obstacle detection. It’s very quiet too. The Q5 is good on carpet, much cheaper but needed it for upstairs where there’s mostly carpet. The apps good on both too. I came from a 7 year old Neato D7 that had gone senile so a bit of a jump!
r/RobotVacuums • I analyzed the 25 most recommended robot vacuums on Reddit ->My understanding is they are the exact same for carpets and dog hair. The Q5 is a bit cheaper with a bigger dustbin and no mopping. Q8 has the mopping. Where do you see the sale on Wayfair at?
r/Roborock • Between the Q5 DuoRoller+ and the Q8 Max which is better for cleaning with a husky? ->Works great. A daily run and keeping the rollers and the machine clean will do the job.
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->Im happy af with q5 pro. What i need to do is change bag once for 3-4months and that's it
r/RobotVacuums • Are robo vacuums worth it? ->We just bought a Roborock Q5 pro as it was very highly recommended everywhere, and is currently on sale at Amazon for Cad$283
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop IYO? Is it really worth its expensive price tag you paid? ->I can't get my q7 max to connect to my phone anymore. It's so frustrating. No issues with q5 pro, but not sure I'll go when roborock again.
r/homeassistant • What is the best robot vacuum currently that's really worth buying? ->I bough a roborock q5 pro from amazon a few weeks ago. It was on sale for $250 so I pulled the trigger on it after watching some reviews on YouTube of it. I have a smallish place with carpet in the bedroom while everywhere else is tile. It does a good job on both surfaces and has been able to pick up everything on my carpet. I run it every other day to keep the dust under control as my place is often dusty. I was using a Dyson vacuum but it’s been in the closet since I got the roborock. One of these days I’ll empty the Dyson and do a vacuum with it to see if the roborock is leaving anything behind. I bought mine assuming it wasn’t going to replace my normal vacuum and I just wanted it to keep my place looking fresh in between vacuums. In reality, it’s exceeded my expectation and I have not used my normal vacuum since I got it. I think they are worth it assuming you get a good one. This is the amount of stuff mine picks up every time it cleans https://preview.redd.it/bouadjz8hsme1.jpeg?width=3024&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7e5cff134294ae84ad47a7e297f47fcc8ebc3ab7 Edit: also be aware that some of these robot vacuums have consumables (parts that you’ll need to replace after a while)
r/homeautomation • Can robot vacuum truly deep clean your home? ->Even on the mid-range Q5, I never noticed any corner spots with crumbs or dust that it missed. The suction seems plenty strong, you can just run it on turbo when not home. The more challenging spots are behind the couch/TV where there are wires on the floor, or legs it can't fit between. I'm okay with that I just vacuum those manually infrequently.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->Can't go wrong with Roborock. I have Q5 Pro, great vacuum performance, it maps and cleans unattended. For pets you might want the vacuum dock. Under $400-500USD. The higher end robovacs are all about mopping, avoid them if you don't care about that, go mid-range.
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->I got mine for $200 on Amazon sale. Perfect for vacuuming hard floors. Downsides would be the mop attachment, doesn't do much, you fill it with water and it only wipes not scrubs. The rubber brushes are fine for throw rugs, would not do well on deep carpet. Only had several months, but it been sturdy and parts can be replaced. The app shows life of each part (filter, brushes, etc.)
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->My Q5 Pro sometimes could get on it, sometimes not but when it could vacuuming it was no problem.
r/RobotVacuums • Ist this carpet an issue for modern robot vacuums? ->Got the Q5 pro (with dock) on black Friday for around $250 and it's honestly all we need in our 2B with a mix of hard floors and carpet. The mopping never gets used. Be prepared to set no go zones in tight corners and where wiring is exposed.
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->I bought the Roborock Q5 Pro and it was $130. I couldn't imagine spending over a few hundred on a robot vacuum since they likely won't last for that many years. The mopping feature seems useless on most robot vacs, we use ours to vacuum and then quick mop things manually as needed. We love our Roborock, but had it been over $2-300 bucks I wouldn't have been able to justify the purchase.
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->Same here. Had it for a few weeks, and so far very happy with it. One cat and hardwood floors, so mostly picking up tracked litter and some car hair. Great app and not very noisy. Wish it was a bit less tall, doesn't quite fit under my sofa like my Eufy 30C did.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->There's a $90 off coupon... I bought one a few weeks ago, very happy with it .
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->I did some research digging and found the roborock Q5 pro was best for my 3 dogs and mostly hard floors. So far it has been a dream for setup and the app is amazing too for mapping and scheduling.
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->Roborock q10 s5. I have a q5 pro and it’s pretty good. But the q10 has twice the suction.
r/RobotVacuums • A great functioning robot vacuum WITHOUT self-empty feature and WITHOUT mop ->I have the Q5 Pro and just don’t attach the mop and it has a super big bin onboard. It’s recommended in this article https://www.theverge.com/23846479/best-budget-robot-vacuum-robot-mop
r/Roborock • Is the Roborock Q5 Max+ the best option for carpet-only cleaning? ->\+1 for Roborock Q5 Max or Q5 Pro. I've got the Q5 Pro, which is basically the Q5 Max with a very basic mop attachment included in the price. I believe you have to buy the basic mop separately for the Q5 Max. You can also opt for the Q5 Pro+. The "+" means you buy the vacuum with the larger self emptying dock. No "+" means you only buy the vacuum with the basic charging dock. My Q5 Pro works great in my apartment with one Shiba. I went for the basic charging dock because the large 770 mL dustbin is larger than other models usually around 300mL so it's adequate for my one dog and apartment (tiles and hardwood floor. no carpets). Also means with a basic small dock, I can hide the vacuum under a cabinet.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum for cat hair ->I’ve got a Roborock Q5 pro and love it. Got hardwood / tile floors and a Shiba Inu in my apartment. Picked the Q5 pro for the large dustbin and duo roller. I don’t want any mopping function or auto empty. I just park my charging station next to the trash bin and empty the robot daily.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->I've been in the robot vacuum game for awhile. Had an OG Roomba Pro back in 2003, then a Roomba 500 series in 2008, Roborock S6 in 2020, and just got a Roborock Q5 Pro a month ago. The budget models of today are SO GOOD and SO CHEAP, that it is very hard for me to justify any of the higher tier models. I got the Q5 Pro for $139. Considering it has similar features but better cleaning performance than my S6 but costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6, it is the best value option out there imo. While the techie in me enjoys all of the latest features, I think adding pumps, water, and moving base parts is an order of magnitude more complexity and increases the odds of breaking something. My Roomba 500 still runs and it just needed battery replacements and a new vac motor over its 12 years of service. Granted, I have the perspective of having a robot vac for 2 decades, so picking up things on the floor that it'll get stuck on is second nature.
r/RobotVacuums • [deleted by user] ->For crevices, you need a robot with a bristle main brush. Dreame L series and Mova usually use rubber brushes, which, according to reviewers on YT, don't pick up dust in crevices well unlike bristle ones. Some Roborock model like Q5 Pro, Q8 Max, Qrevo S, and QV35A/S also uses a similar brush. I think if you don't mind with prices, E28 or E25 is a good candidate because its roller mop is superior. Roborock also has a new lineup called S5A which is the cheaper version of Qrevo Edge. Now it's $899 on Amazon. S5A uses a similar Duo Divide split brush as in Qrevo Edge and Eufy E28, a self-empty station, and obstacle avoidance but only using structured light without a live camera.
r/RobotVacuums • I just want the best robo vac available and the research is killing me ->I have just the Q5 pro with 5500 suction. Paid $179 on Amazon. Got it because I didn't want to have to deal with expensive bags that it self empties into. Super easy to empty..just barely press button, pull out cannister and tap. Take time to brush filter or better yet blow out with compressor if available. The filter is the lifeblood of your roborock suction power. Keep it clean as possible. I don't mind cleaning myself as it literally takes 2 minutes.
r/Roborock • So thrilled with the Roborock Q5 Max+ ->Maybe every 3 cleanings and even then filter is much more dirty than cannister is full.
r/Roborock • So thrilled with the Roborock Q5 Max+ ->I have been super happy with my q5pro. Handles pet hair like a dream, which was all I was looking for.
r/Roborock • Best robo vacuum under 1500 ->Are you in US? If so get Roborock Q5 pro - currently on sale for $140
r/RobotVacuums • Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. Amazon has a lot of sales going on. Wondering if anyone has favorite brands OR brands to stay away from? ->Roborock Q5 Pro is alright for that case and very cheap as long as you're fine emptying it, filling it and rinsing it yourself.
r/RobotVacuums • Best (budget*) vacuum with mop function for small apartment ->The [Roborock Q5 Pro](https://www.amazon.com/s?k=Roborock+Q5+Pro&crid=238S673WWZ5OG&sprefix=roborock+q5+pro%2Caps%2C307&linkCode=ll2&tag=sedx3d0d-20&linkId=565fcfddcf209b6758b5f878207cba93&language=en_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) is a great value-for-money robot vacuum. It offers strong suction, good navigation, and a reasonable price.
r/RobotVacuums • Overwhelmed with so many options. What's the best value-for-money robot vacuum? ->Roborock Q5. I believe the Q5 “Pro” is the only model available now and does have mopping but it’s a simple mopping feature and you don’t have to use it at all if you remove the mop. Maybe it’s not MSRP under $200 but pretty sure it’s been on sale for near $100 a few times in the last couple months. My Q5 has been going strong for about a year and a half handling everything my corgi puts out. I can hear it running on its scheduled morning clean as we speak. I have to empty it daily since I didn’t get the version with a dock.
r/puppy101 • Best Budget Robot Vacuums for Pet hair under $200 ->Damn, I was just about to suggest Roborock. My Q5 Pro has been rock solid
r/HomeKit • Suggestion for best robot vacuum in 2024 under $500 ->Heavier rugs are fine. They struggle with lighter ones though. At least in my experience
r/HomeKit • Suggestion for best robot vacuum in 2024 under $500 ->Just get a roborock q5 pro or q7 max. q5 pro has better vacuuming (no large docks) q7 has better mopping. Its sub 200$ and works great. you dont need to empty every time. Probably twice a week if you run it every day. I had a q5 pro (5500 kpa suck and dual rollers) and it worked great for a 2000 ft house. I paid like 179. I’m upgrading to l40 for mopping features.
r/RobotVacuums • How should I make the right choice between budget and features? ->Q5 pro has no problem on extreme high pile carpet. I mean what some users call a "shag". The robot doesn't give a fuck and take speed to jump on to it. I'd call OPs carpet a medium pile carpet.
r/Roborock • Can Robotock do better on Carpet? ->Yes. Especially with pets and/or kids. Consumers usually come online to either ask about a product like you, or ask about issues they're facing. Even if 0.01% of consumers of a million face issues that's still 10.000 owners. Some simple rules to live by. 1. Check the floor for any pet hairball or droppings. 2. Pick up anything that might get tangled in the robot. Toys and yarn for example. 3. Clean the robot(and dock) once a week or at least biweekly. I have faced four issues with both my roborocks but they were minor fixes that i did, both are running fine at 400hours runtime(q5pro) and 1500hours runtime(s5max). Most issues have been ironed out or have available solutions online.
r/RobotVacuums • Are robot vacuum's worth it? ->I have a roborock q5 pro and it can take the whole hours worth of hair easily what it takes to clean the house. It has a self emptying dock but a few times it haven’t been able to empty the bin when it gets clogged with hair.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->It gets this bad about every 3 days for me. It’s exhausting and tedious spending 20+ minutes picking at it with the tweezers and scissors. Is this normal? We have 2 cats, 2 dogs, and 2 long haired people in the house. Roborock Q5 pro.
r/RobotVacuums • How often do you all have to clean hair from the edges of the rubber brushes? ->I have the Q5 pro. I love it! I bought a Eufy and it worked like a toy, didn’t dock and had to get a refund. I don’t use the mop function since it’s upstairs in the bedroom areas. But I run it everyday multiple times a day if needed. It leaves beautiful lines, I highly recommend the Q5. My ex had sharks and went through them so quickly. Shark had to keep sending him models because they kept breaking or having errors.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->My ex had sharks that kept breaking. He hates them but they keep replacing them in the mail with another broken vacuum robot. I highly recommend the Q5. I have the pro without the self emptying, it’s perfect for 1,300 sq ft and two cats. I can go a week without emptying but I empty it every few days. Highly recommend the Q5
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->I second the roborock Q5 pro recommendation. I started off trying a Eufy L50 because I was able to pick it up from Walmart, it did great at everything besides getting dog hair out of my rugs. The Q5 pro does everything just a little bit better than the L50 in my opinion and I paid $50 less for it. I was somewhat shocked at how much better it was at getting hair out of my cheap door mat type rugs. I'd get the Q5 pro + (the + comes with SES) if I was you, you have over double the space as me.
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->Roomba is overpriced garbage that relies on its brand recognition rather than consistently improving its technology to match or surpass its competitors. For navigation, I'd stick to something with LiDAR. I have what I believe is the cheapest Roborock model (Q5 pro) for around $150 and I was very impressed with it's navigation and vacuuming abilities.
r/RobotVacuums • Roomba j7 soured me on robot vacuums. Is it time to try again? ->Yep, bought one when we got our dog a year ago. Haven't run in to any issues. Our house is about 50/50 hard floors and carpet. Does a sufficient job at both and haven't had any problems with hair tangling. We set up the charging dock right next to our kitchen trash can so it takes 10 seconds to empty the bin every few days. Really like it at it's price point so if it does get destroyed by the dog, it's not a heart breaker to replace it. Plus the thing is so simple and easy to clean compared to the higher end models with a lot more mechanical parts. Big fan, highly recommend
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->Yep, we have the Q5. With a German Shepherd, Jack Russell and 2 cats it manages just fine. We sent it round once a day and has no issues.
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->I just sent it round on Max power. There’s enough battery life on one charge to do both floors of the house.
r/Roborock • Roborock Q5 Pro for vacuum cleaning incl. dog hair ->As a new parent I say absolutely worth it if you get a good one. I got one at the beginning of the year for less than $200 (roborock q5 pro it was on sale) and it's pretty much my main vacuum right now even though I have an upright vacuum. I haven't used the mop feature but this thing is pretty great for basic vacuuming. As others have mentioned you need to get the big stuff off the floor / pull the chairs out from the table so it can navigate around the legs. But other than that I just push a button on my phone and let it do its thing. it navigates pretty well and has only got stuck on shoe laces I didn't pick up. Sure you might need to do some tidying up around corners once in a while but it will get the majority of your mess clean enough for most of the time.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->Roboroc Q5 None better. If they no longer make that one, go the next number higher.
r/homeowners • What's the best Robot Vacuum value for money on the market rn? ->Roborock Q5+ duoroller. I also vacuum with a Miele canister vacuum. German Shepherd and 3 cats. I only have one throw rug and the rest is solid floor. I will note though that I break my house up into sections. 1 day 50% is vacuumed the other day the other 50%. I have a 3 bed 2 bath ranch house with a small dining room. IDK the SQ FT but it's not big but it's not small. I broke it up into 2 sections otherwise the vacuum gets a little full if I forget to use the Miele that week.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I can't imagine not having self empty. You will absolutely love that feature. If you're sure you don't need a mop (I didn't think I needed one, but I really like it and I don't even have kids or dogs), I would look at the Roborock Q5+ duoroller or similar. I highly recommend getting a robot with lidar navigation. it works so much better than older bump and turn systems. iRobot kinda sucks these days from what I understand. You can definitely have a robot vac run in a different room while you're cleaning elsewhere. That said I think the best way to use a robot vacuum is to set it on a schedule. I have a robot on each of the two floors of my house. I have our fancier Qrevo Pro vacuum/mop the kitchen everyday and do the rest of the floor twice a week. Downstairs I have a Roborock Q7+ that vacuums the back entry way everyday and the rest of the floor twice a week
r/RobotVacuums • I need recommendations for an easy to use robot vacuum! ->I second this. I think I only paid $200 for my Q5? Mine doesn't mop or auto empty, but very good on the vacuuming front (and has all the good mapping, navigation, multi floor modes the other ones do). And they do have models with the mopping and auto emptying things.
r/unpopularopinion • Robot vacuums are expensive and a waste of time. ->This is more of an uninformed opinion than unpopular. I can run mine when I'm not even home. I can adjust the noise level of I am home. I can even have it do just one or 2 rooms if I want/ and have it do places I'm not occupying. I did save money and get one that I have to manually empty...but guess what? Emptying it takes me a LOT less time than vacuuming the entire floor. This sub is for opinions, but you're factually wrong on it being a waste of time, because it is saving me time...the only way it would be wasting my time is if the alternative was to not sweep or vacuum the floors at all...
r/unpopularopinion • Robot vacuums are expensive and a waste of time. ->Roborock. I have a q5 and an S8 Max v ultra. Both awesome machines.
r/RobotVacuums • Overwhelmed with so many options. What's the best value-for-money robot vacuum? ->Older roombas are simple, reliable, durable, effective, and cheap. But they don't have smart navigation or mapping where you can ask them to clean specific areas. If you want navigation they become less cheap and less durable. I have a 10yo 600 series roomba and a new Roborock Q5. Q5 is great but I'm skeptical that it's going to last as long.
r/homeassistant • Robot Vacuums Under $500: Are They Worth It ->I had a roborock Q5 in my apartment. Myself and my cat. Loved it, it was fantastic. Easy to use, easy to set up custom cleans if I made a mess, and easy to set up no go zones with the app on my phone. Never had any issues with it. I have a shark now in my house, and will absolutely be replacing it with the one I used to have because I hate my shark.
r/Apartmentliving • What are the best robot vacuums you've tried - Do they really keep the apartment clean everyday? ->great news! Almost ANY roborock you get (for that matter, any robot) is going to far surpass your i7 experience. I would not grab the Q5, TBH. There is, actually a very big difference between $500 and $1000 robots, but if I may recommend... I'd say the best CURRENT value on a Roborock is the Curv/Edge, the S8 MaxV Ultra and the QRevo MaxV. While the Saros are great... I don't think they're better \*enough\* than the models listed about to justify the price. Also, I'd wait for Prime Day, regardless. Also, I test robots for a living for Lifehacker, and am not sponsored by anyone, and test robots in my very real house.
r/Roborock • How does one decide which Roborock to get ->I had a Samsung Jetbot that broke after a year and a half, and would have cost me $150 to fix. I went back and forth on fixing it, but ultimately realized that I could buy a brand new robot for that price. The Roborock Q5 happened to be on sale for exactly that price, so I ended up buying it, and have been using it obsessively to clean up the buildup from the past several months. I didn’t realize how much dust and hair had accumulated on my carpets in that time (I live in an apartment, and don’t own another vacuum), and looking at what a difference it’s made to have a freshly-vacuumed carpet has just given me so much tranquility. I have a cat, but really the buildup had come from me, because I have long hair that tends to shed. There was literally a mouse-sized amount of hair tangled up in the side brush after running the vacuum four times, with the main rollers covered in hair. The advice that was given to me by folks in this subreddit is to make sure you get a robot with Lidar. Lidar is the mapping technology that actually allows the robovac to clean every inch of the floor. The robovacs without Lidar just kind of bounce around, and aren’t nearly as effective at cleaning because they don’t keep track of where they’ve been. They go in zig-zag patterns, and Lidar robots go back and forth. It’s more expensive, but to me the difference is worth it. I’ll also say that what convinced me to get a robovac in the first place is that someone told me it forces them to keep their floors clean. You can’t have your floors cluttered because it will block the robot and stop it from doing its job, or even get it tangled up. So that’s just one more reason to get one.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->That's the really, really old ones. They're not great. The new ones map the environment, and do a proper pass of all areas. Like the Roborock Q8 or Q5 are great.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->Roomba 105 said “docking? never heard of her.” If nav + no-go zones matter, go Roborock Q5 for laser brain, pet-hair beast. Shark Matrix is better than old Shark, but still a bit lost sometimes. Just pick the smart one.
r/RobotVacuums • Affordable lidar vac that docks on carpet? ->Switched to a new Roborock q5 from eufy bc it was damaging engineered floors. Eufy does great on hardwoods, beber, and tile.
r/CleaningTips • Which robot vacuum is really GOOD at handling PET HAIR? ->What are some of the missing features? I have a Q5 and I'm curious what I'm missing out on
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->I've owned a few, my experiences with different brands in order of ownership: Neato - My first and way ahead of it's time. I loved this vacuum, it had lidar way before the rest of the competition. Didn't save maps but navigated the house systemically and did a great job cleaning. Lasted from 2013 until 2019. I wish this company had continued to improve their product lines but they've sky rocketed in price compared to their competition without really adding new features. ECOVACS DEEBOT- The shortest lived vacuum I owned, less than 6 months. Piece of shit. iRobot Roomba 960 - Had it from 2019 until 2023. Claimed to map rooms but it didn't really short battery life forced it to recharge at least 1 time and often 2 while cleaning my home. Honestly...I didn't care for this vacuum and was happy when it died as it was the perfect height to get itself stuck under my kitchen cabinets in 1 spot nearly every time it ran. Claimed to map rooms but just did the iRobot crash into things random path thing. Shark RV2502AE - It was good...until it wasn't when the lidar died, just over 6 months in 2023. I bought it new off Amazon, but Shark claim it was refurbished, the refurbisher claimed it was out of warranty, and Amazon is impossible to get someone on the phone with any real power to fix things. Even beyond those issues, the app was wonky and always very slow to connect. I will never buy another Shark product after that experience and I was almost to the point of giving up on robot vacuums. Roborock Q5 - Current, had it for almost a year. It's a great vacuum so far. It cleans quick and is smart enough to know when it hits rugs/carpet so kicks in extra power at those points. It did get stuck once under my bed, but I've since used the app to make it a no go zone and never had another issue with that. My 1 issue with it is not with the vacuum but it's empty dock design. The bags do not seal perfectly allowing some dust to escape which will clog a vent preventing proper emptying. Not a huge deal as...well it still can run 5+ times without needing it cleaned out. I bought an extended warranty with this one.
r/RobotVacuums • Planning to Buy a Robot Vacuum: Should I Try a New Brand? ->Ya it’s crazy. Yesterday I vacuumed and mopped with the Dyson and a few hours later the cats and dogs had hair everywhere. It’s nice waking up and coming home to a fully vacuumed and mopped house. These newer robots are so much better than the roombas my parents had 20 odd years ago.
r/RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vacuum-mop combo. Do you agree? ->Funny I just bought a roborock q5 and its amazing. Did not expect it Actually vacuums Mapped the whole apartment in detail Cleaned carpet pretty well Dead simple Has a mop (to test out this weekend)
r/RobotVacuums • I fucking hate this thing ->Well I dont want the best mop, I wanted a simple robo vacuum....mop is bonus
r/RobotVacuums • I fucking hate this thing ->I’m hesitant to compare to the S7, because I don’t know what that has. In terms of cutting edge technology, Roborock has some crazy new things coming—like one with a robot arm that will pick up and move objects in the way. And it will raise itself up over transitions, like to a carpet. The Saros10 model came out in the past year and is supposed to be fantastic—at $1200 to $1600. I’m just saying that for $179, the Q8 is better than what I have. There are 2 rubber rollers on the bottom (rather than one), and it’s great for dust & pet hair. The phone app is easier to use and edit. I’ve had no problems with docking or finding the dock. And the small-area-clean button works great, which my Q5 didn’t have.
r/gadgets • Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn ->Stay away from these no-name brands. Stick with Roborock, Dreame, Eufy, Irobot, and Shark. Roborock Q5 is a great deal at the moment. The no-name brands are almost always worse in functionality, much harder to get spare brushes and filters for, impossible to get other parts for etc.
r/RobotVacuums • Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. Amazon has a lot of sales going on. Wondering if anyone has favorite brands OR brands to stay away from? ->It'll help keep up, but no robot is going to really handle that much hair without daily or twice daily running. And you'll be emptying it a lot. The q5 is still a good performer from what I've heard and will help.
r/RobotVacuums • Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. Amazon has a lot of sales going on. Wondering if anyone has favorite brands OR brands to stay away from? ->Unfortunately it's all in the market pressures, certain sets of requirements or categories of robots have been totally eliminated. For example it's really hard to find much choice of robot mops, everybody has switched to making combination all-in-one robots which are much more expensive. It can be really frustrating. What I will say, avoid models with AI obstacle avoidance camera systems mounted on the front bumper. This should help limit privacy concerns. A lidar sensor can give a basic layout of your house and furniture placement but it can't really see details, it's basically a 2-D image. Edit: obviously all images are 2-D lol. What I meant is, it's only seeing your house through a really thin laser beam shining out from the top "turret". This means it can see shapes on that line of sight and nothing else, basically it doesn't steer that laser up or down. It can't see details of people, pets, objects not at floor level etc. It'll see four furniture legs, with no way to tell if it's a sofa or a dining table. Obviously having a literal camera is a totally different story there. And luckily a lot of the more basic options lack cameras (for now anyway). Models like the eufy L60 or Roborock Q5 might be ones to look at.
r/VacuumCleaners • Good robot vacs that don't use an app / scan your house? Preferably self-emptying. ->We have a roborock q5 I believe and I like it. When talking with a friend about them, her complaint was that it took too long and in the amount of time it took for the robot to vacuum one room, she could have done the whole downstairs. And while that is true, if that’s the complaint then she’s not doing it right. I pick up all the stuff off of the floor and run the vacuum while I do other things like fold and put away laundry, the dishes, organize rooms where the vacuum isn’t running. I find it helps keep the amount of cat hair and litter everywhere down and I like that it keeps crumbs at a minimum. Does it replace actually vacuuming? Most people say no. And if you are actually vacuuming your home currently every few days, then it’s not going to do as good of a job. But I personally was only vacuuming once every couple of weeks (I know, gross) so it’s made a big improvement in our home for sure.
r/homemaking • Best robot vacuum recommendations - Do they really ease your burden with cleaning up? ->Roborock Q5 all day!! great nav, eats pet hair, real no-go zones. Shark’s still kinda dumb. Privacy? They all spying.
r/RobotVacuums • Affordable lidar vac that docks on carpet? ->>A deep clean should be done before using and they should be vacuuming every day or so and mopping every few days. A tiny robot cannot do what a large upright or stick vac can do. This is true, but I am always amazed how much my Roborock q5 can vacuum up
r/RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vacuum-mop combo. Do you agree? ->Just the Roborock Q5, nothing more to it's name
r/RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vacuum-mop combo. Do you agree? ->Just vacuum, the Q5 pro does both though I believe
r/RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vacuum-mop combo. Do you agree? ->Please dont buy an roomba maybe an refurbished roborock they also haf great quality and longeity. Maybe an s7 ore the q8 q7 q5
r/RobotVacuums • $100 Robot Vacuums: Worth It for Small Spaces? Please help me... ->Maybe try a roborock q5? I have an old model roborock e4 or something like that has been going for years and does a good job for my corgi.
r/dogs • Seeking best Budget Robot Vacuums for Pet hair under $200 ->Really? I have two Roborocks Q5s and they are definitely inferior to iRobot’s S9 which I also have. Worse mapping, worse suction by far. The Q5 struggles with any elevation differences: it struggles to get over thin rugs or floor transition strips. That said, I got the Q5 at a cheap price and it’s been OK. I would just rather the S9 if the price was equal. Of course, Roomba has its own problems.
r/RobotVacuums • Should I be considering any Robot other than the S9+? ->Robot vacuums have good quality control now, like Roborock, Eufy, and Dreame. There were no problems with my Eufy L60 and my Roborock Q5. I can't give you a definitive answer based on time, but I believe quality is also important.
r/BuyItForLife • For a robot vacuum, how long is considered BIFL? ->I clean after every use of my Robbie (Roborock Q5). The ends are removable and the hair just slides off. Pull the white end and pull the hair out of the rod. No tools or tweezers are required.
r/RobotVacuums • How often do you all have to clean hair from the edges of the rubber brushes? ->I just got the Roborock Q5 and it is the second best thing I've ever bought for my house! Litter robot was the first lol. It saves soooo much time and soreness and my floors are clean even when I'm exhausted! No complaints so far, it mops and vacuums and hasn't had any issues yet. We have 2 dogs and a long haired cat, and one of the dogs is a Newfoundland with an insane amount of fur!
r/ehlersdanlos • I got a robot vacuum/mop and it’s worth every penny! ->Roborock, my husband did a lot of research. We have the Q5. Catch one on a sale.
r/workingmoms • What's considered the best Robot Vacuum Value for Money rn in your opinion? ->I have similar setup and use a Q5 which works great. I have a cat and dog and no issues with clogging.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot vacuum for tiled floor with area rugs? In Europe ->Thanks! That’s more than one vote for the roborock Q5
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->Thanks so much! I’m comparing the Q5 models right now! What is SES?
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->That’s what I decided on! Thanks!
r/RobotVacuums • Dog parents! What vacuum-only robot works GREAT for pet hair? ->That exact Roborock is my first robot vacuum. We have two Pyrenees/Lab mix (one white, one black), and two cats. I generally schedule rooms individually after my docking station started to clog with debris and hair. The Q5 Is amazing, but it'll pickup clothes and socks if they are on the ground. Just have to make sure things are off the floor before the vacuum starts it's schedule and you're golden. I've been running the cheap Amazon special bags and filters and haven't had any issues yet.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->I have a q5 roborock without the self emptying dock because I think that’s a waste of money. I’m going to buy another one for my second level. It was only 150 bucks on Amazon and it has been a game changer for pet hair. I have mostly hardwood floors, a few rooms with carpet and some rugs, cleaned them all with no problems. Highly recommend
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair? ->I bought a Roborock q5 for $140 and it has been fantastic. I must be getting old because I’ve never been this excited about a vacuum ever. The app is easy to use. The LiDAR mapping worked great, it hasn’t gotten stuck on anything. It has different levels of suction, and it changes depending on the floor type. Higher levels are louder, but it’s still not that loud. We have some pets who shed a lot and it works wonders. It does have a mop attachment but you don’t have to put it on. Mine runs once a day and cleans three rooms with hardwood floor and two rooms with carpet, and then I bring it downstairs and it does four more hardwood floor rooms. I like it so much I’m going to get another one so I don’t have to carry it downstairs. But this thing has been a game changer in a house with shedding pets.
r/RobotVacuums • What vacuums are worth getting if I don't care about mopping? ->Mine has not. When I bring it down and tell it to clean, it does a little dance to figure out where it is and then goes to work. It made a new map and it’s also saved in the app. I’ll also mention is pretty easy to clean. I did notice hair being spun around the end of the rollers but they come apart and cleaning them was a breeze. Like you can do it in less than ten seconds. I did have to take the rollers out also because a Christmas ornament my cats knocked down got stuck behind the rollers. But it still finished its cleaning cycle and went back to its dock. I only noticed because it sounded different.
r/RobotVacuums • What vacuums are worth getting if I don't care about mopping? ->I absolutely love my Roborock Q5 (\~4-5 years old now) and it has been a champ to keep up with two kitties and the insane amount of litter that gets tracked through our apartment. I think I paid around $300 or so originally. Ours just has a vacuum function, but quite a few other models also can mop which I've actually heard works pretty well. It does a great job at mapping our floorplan and from there you can easily clean by room, zone, or do a full vacuum. Overall the app is really easy to use and I really have no complaints. I don't think it replaces vacuuming yourself entirely, but it has helped us get through the week by just running that on busy weekdays and doing a deep clean once on the weekends. Biggest thing is to just keep up on cleaning / swapping components like filters and the brush as you would with any other vacuum and it should hang around for quite a while
r/CleaningTips • Robot vacuum VS dog hair… battle to the death 💀 ->I can echo some of the advice here and also tell you that your criteria are the right ones. I think the #1 issue with mopping vacs is that they are still a relatively new technology and they are still trying to figure out how to automate the drying and disinfecting of the robot and the dock. That's the #1 reason to purchase a newer, more expensive model. I have the QRevo Curv and have frankly been blown away by its ability to stay clean and dry and odor-free compared to older models. That being said, it still doesn't do that all by itself. However, it has remained spotless for a year and a half by doing these 3 simple things: 1. In the fresh water tank, I have the silver ion module (don't know if it does anything), and I put a tiny amount (half capful) of cleaning solution in the fresh water tank when I refill it. 2. In the dirty water tank, every time I empty it, I put a little splash of bleach in the bottom, and I spray a little bleach-based mold-mildew cleaner around the crevices. An occasional denture cleaning tab can help, too. 3. I have a calendar reminder to remove the dock tray once a month and thoroughly clean it. It doesn't take long. That thing reliably develops a dark residue that might be mold, but once a month seems to keep it in check. As for vacuuming, if you look at the tests, apparently the models with long dual rollers technically do a better job than the models with the Duo-Divide brush, but honestly, they ALL vacuum much better than the vacuum-only models of a few years ago, and I thought those did a pretty good job already. The Duo-Divide brush was a game-changer for me. We have long haired women in this house and I've had this thing for 18 months and I've never had to untangle anything from the brushes. It's crazy. I have a Q5 on another floor and I have to religiously clean those brushes. But the Curv? I stopped even checking underneath. There's never anything to untangle. So my advice is to get a Roborock (best software) and to get one with rotating mops and the Duo Divide brush, and to get a newer model with the best washing/drying dock. Other things that could swing you one way or another: Does it need to get under furniture (the Curv is tall and I have slim-robot envy. I have a half dozen pieces of furniture that a shorter vac could get under), does it need to climb over thresholds (that matters in my house). Does it need to recognize dog poop (newer models definitely have better object recognition). I don't place any value on object recognition (I turn it off), but I don't have an incontinent pet, either.
r/Roborock • Should I Get a Roborock or Another Brand? I’m Lost ->I have two (I have a slight split level). I got the Roborock Q5 for one floor and the Q5Pro for the second. I didn't want the "mop" when I bought the Q5 because there are rugs on that floor, but in hindsight, I should have gone with the Q5Pro again and just taken off the little mop rag. It does the job, but that one has given me more issues (disconnects from wifi randomly, gets stuck more (could be the places it goes), and the rollers have the brushes which just collect my hair and get clogged up. The capacity of the collector is smaller than the Pro version too. I have zero complaints about the Pro. And at the end of the day, I no longer have little tumblefur balls rolling around the rooms. Saves me so much time and effort to have them run every day.
r/Catownerhacks • What robot vacuum do you recommend? ->I wholeheartedly agree. I’ve done extensive research and reviewed numerous sources, and I’m thoroughly impressed with my Roborock Q5. There haven’t been any complaints, and the robot is incredibly easy to disassemble, repair, and clean.
r/RobotVacuums • Overwhelmed with so many options. What's the best value-for-money robot vacuum? ->I've got 3 Q5 for 2 years and they work fine still despite daily cleaning of their areas.
r/Roborock • I was a Non-Believer ->I've had the Q5 and Q8 maxand I will say the Q8 is markedly better. The "mop" on it is not really mopping, it's more like a light wipe-down with a damp rag, which is good enough for me. I don't want to deal with the added complexity and potential leakage with a true mopping setup. The app is the best I've seen so far. The Roborocks in my experience don't get stuck as much either. The navigation is more intelligent.
r/RobotVacuums • So many mixed reviews, the more I read the less I feel I know! ->For the record - I recently bought Roborock Q5, and I'm pretty disappointed. Carpet everywhere. It performs as good or a bit worse that the first version of the Xiaomi Vac Robot. The only improvement is the app.
r/RobotVacuums • Big Changes on the Vacuum Wars Top 20 List Today ->Agree!!! We have an older roborock Q5 and it is still a powerhouse!!! Won’t be without one ever again
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->Roborock q5, I believe they stopped selling the q5+ which self empties but it’s a great robot that’s cheap too
r/RobotVacuums • Best Vacuum Robot without camera / at least without remote monitoring function ->Yes it’s a great vacuum. But be aware, you’ll want to upgrade in the future. Question is if you’re okay with that.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->Are you joking? It’s Roborock’s cheapest, least featured product. It’s missing everything. I have 2, I’m not knocking it, but there *obviously* tons of features it’s missing that OP might want.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->Google banned in your country or something? It’s literally the most basic model.
r/Roborock • First Robot Vacuum: Is a Q5 worth it? ->I've been using a robot vacuum for about 7 years now. I only vacuum once every 3 or 4 months in spots the vacuum can't reach, which is only a handful of very small spots. Doesn't take me more than 5 minutes total (~1000sq ft home). Overall, I HIGHLY recommend it. Most modern ones can vacuum hard floors and carpet. You can set it on a schedule (i have mine vacuum twice a week while I am at work). Their software is smart enough to map your home and have the ability to vacuum specific rooms of you make a mess. Only downsides are you can't leave tiny items on the floor, sometimes gets stuck on a cord or rug (maybe once every few weeks), and it can get stuck under furniture depending on how toght of a squeeze it is. I got used to all of that, and I just don't leave tiny stuff on the floor, don't let loose cables lie aorund, and don't own much furniture the vacuum can get stuck under. I have owned 2 Roombas and currently a Roborock Q5. I like the Roborock the most out of the 3. Not sure why people are commenting that they aren't worth it, and vacuuming yourself is better. I will never go back to non-robot vacuum. Some brands/models are better than others. Just do your research and rely on customer reviews when you buy. I researched for a while, and my Roborock Q5 is wonderful. I would WAY rather take the vacuum back to the dock once every few weeks than vacuum all the time.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->This. every manufacturer is making a ton of money on mopping models so not really any reason for them to focus on vacuum only models. If I was too buy something right now and focus was NOT on active mopping I would choose the Roborock Q5 series. You'll still get the gravity mop system but no need to use it. Just be aware that in regards to software development and so on you'll probably be left behind at some point.
r/RobotVacuums • Is there high end robot vacuum without mopping? ->The Q8 already has a bit more "mop" stuff, as the water tank is internal and with the dust bin. And you can control the amount of water dispensed. The Q5 is the least "moppy" one, as the water tank gets attached to the bottom, along with the mop and there's no active water strength control.
r/Roborock • What's Roborock's best vacuum-only model for long-term use? ->Yes. The roborock has been a gamechanger.
r/CleaningTips • Robot vacuum VS dog hair… battle to the death 💀 ->I started with a dumb robot and spent a lot of time 'robot proofing' the house so it wouldn't get stuck on cords, or trying to go under sofas and dressers. Adding bumpers under couch edges, raising up furniture with foam pads so it could go under, etc. and it still got stuck somewhere random 20% of the runs. the lidar and mapping go / no go zones completely changes the ability to complete the job. That is easier than dealing with a dumb robot. My roborock S7 rarely gets stuck. A roborock Q5 is $140! You could buy a new one if it broke after warranty and it'd still be cheap.
r/RobotVacuums • Best "Dumb" and Durable Robot Vacuum? ->I got the q5 on a nice Amazon sale. I never use the mop function, only vacuum. So far it’s been great, and we have two dogs and a cat. We get the house cleaned once a week and I’ve been running the robot once a day, or couple days to keep up with it. So happy on this ourchase
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->I have the Roborock Q Revolution Master and also the Pro. They have these features and are good machines.
r/RobotVacuums • Best price robot with all the technologies included ->Oh I had it, it’s even worse. Try testing out its avoidance with almost anything, especially on carpets.
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->If you don’t have pets, the pro is definitely the best for the price.
r/Roborock • Roborock Obstacle Avoidance Sucks ->This and a stick vac to spot clean is what I have
r/BelgianMalinois • Best robot vacuum for Pet Hair, option under $200, what's your pick? ->If you don't need obstacle avoidance here you go: -Roborock Qrevo Pro/Plus/S -Roborock Q5/Q7/Q8 series -Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2 -Ecovacs Deebot N20 Plus
r/RobotVacuums • Robovacs with self empty base and no camera? ->They absolutely have no camera
r/RobotVacuums • Robovacs with self empty base and no camera? ->I have a Roborock self emptying one now and mostly got that because it could vacuum and mop. Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc. but now I live in the north and with snow and ice and mud I needed mopping too. I also now only have one German shepherd, my other dogs don’t shed as much. But I also have a pot belly pig that always brings in mud. So the Roborock works great for that but for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->Don't spend $1000 on one, go for one around $350-$400 with an auto emptying dock. Roborock is my favorite. You'll get 99% the same features and function as the $1k one, and if you like it then you can get a second one and still be under $1k!
r/RobotVacuums • Are robo vacuums worth it? ->We have a self-emptying Roborock that vacuums soft surfaces and mops hard surfaces. We love it sooooo much. I can’t imagine the state our floors would be in without it 🫣
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->Depends on your flooring and needs If carpets - Roborock - best vacuuming particularly if you pair it with an auto empty dock (most newer models) If hardwood and no pets (Read not an inordinate amount of vacuuming) - Eufy S1 Pro - Best mopping hands down along with pretty good vacuuming
r/smarthome • What is the Best Robot Vacuum that Homeowners absolutely love and recommend? ->Thirding roborock. Love mine. I splurged on the self emptying model….totally worth it.
r/CleaningTips • Which robot vacuum is really GOOD at handling PET HAIR? ->We have two shedding dogs and we love our Roborocks. The first one, while it was fantastic filled kinda quickly (not their fault, our dogs shed A LOT) so it was a minor inconvenience to empty it halfway through it's cleaning 2700sqft. My brother became disabled so I gave him that one for his apartment. He loves it and his helper can empty it and help him with harder care items so it saves him money (he was initially being charged an hour every day for vacuuming, now he's not). The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient and does a fantastic job cleaning. I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc. Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->Get a self emptying Roborock one. Roombas are crap that are basically all about their name now. You will have to clean the fur out of some spots on it at times, but if you run it every day it will keep most of it out of the way.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->Second the OP. I'd recommend getting a Roborock or similar with self emptying vacuum. It works best on hardwood floors. Carpet not so much. Look into robots with high suction power. Like the other OP, you will still need to dyson up nooks and crannies manually, but the ability to schedule frequent self vacuum in high traffic areas cuts down on your workload significantly. The self mopping feature imo is not worth it, but maybe the newest models have improved. From experience, you will want robots that can detect animals (I've seen videos where the robot runs over the dogs tails, gets stuck, and terrifies the dogs). Also look for ones that can detect objects like poop, so you don't come home to a Jackson pollock painting. Look into the clearance height of the robot as well, and compare to your furniture if you are looking to have the robot go under couches and stuff. For example, our roborock barely fits under the couch, and even with 1 cm clearance, will avoid going under the couch if it detects the under-couch fabric is hanging too low (we fixed this by reholstering the bottom of the couch). Worth mentioning if you work from home that the self emptying vacuum feature can get loud, but it is usually very brief and you should be able to schedule emptying times. The robot vacuum companies get you on the replacement parts, which are not cheap. You do get what you pay for though, and routine maintenance (cleaning sensors, replacing brushes, untangling hair from rollers) goes a long way in longevity. I haven't found a robot vacuum that does not pick up hairs in the dog roller yet, so expect to periodically open up the robot to remove hair (usually very easy). For replacement parts, you can go third party for cheaper. Especially so when buying replacements for big brand/popular models. For example, you can get an unofficial 5 pack of vacuum bags for the self emptying vacuum for the same cost as 1 official one (or something like that). For carpets, I'd just go with those manual carpet brushes. Picks up way more hair more efficiently than any vacuum. Just my 2 cents.
r/goldenretrievers • Roomba vs Goldens? ->Roomba's have pretty subpar mapping & navigation compared to most other brands. We have one (older) Roomba that relies on VSLAM for navigation and one Roborock that uses LiDAR; the difference is night and day. I would avoid iRobot on that alone until they change their tech.
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->For the price (£250) I am very impressed with mine. Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc. Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out. Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle. Definitely does not replace vacuuming as a whole though as it just cant physically get into the corners, and the vacuum itself isnt enough to really suck stuff out of the carpet, more just pick up things on top. I treat it more like a broom than anything else, but having a pet it helps me keep on top of things.
r/gadgets • Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn ->Yes! Don’t get the Curv plus it’s cheaply built and ugly. The S8 MaxV has premium materials. They are all plastic but the Curv and Q series feel flimsy.
r/Roborock • Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra Review from a 7-Cat Household ->You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol
r/Roborock • Upgrading from Roborock S6 MaxV – Best Model for Pet Hair? ->The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
