"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."
"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"it saves so much time and hassle."
"Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration."
"does a fantastic job cleaning. ... I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc."

"It gives up quickly and does not map well. ... For example, first time out, it was unable to leave the kitchen. ... So it mapped the kitchen and a space outside the kitchen that it could see was called a room. But it was only able to see 30% of the actual room. ... It did not update the map as the dreame would each run. ... Sent out for a remap. Got the center room and failed to get the hallway that did not have a threshold to cross, got 20% of another room it could't get in and didn't place a wall where there was a wall."
"my Qrevo Edge was not able to avoid some cables or other things like small pet toys my puppy would bring out at times. ... Once it even ran over a little log (of shit) my puppy left out for it which caused me to have to open it up and clean it out."
"the bot frequently and randomly loses the map so you have to babysit it as you help it remap, and you have to redraw all the virtual boundaries."

"it is also way more prone to tracking pet messes about, that happened once with a pile of cat vomit and I was a little traumatized."
"if you take if off the dock yourself it loses the mop function unless you restart it literally 10 times"
"for the love of God please don get a roomba combo model. They don work… ever."

"everytime I turn it on it says "error 2 bumper stuck" ... I tried to fix it but no luck. ... It is useless now and I feel scammed."

"And it was a disaster on our cotton area rug, even on the lowest setting. I ended up with a ton of lint and a roughed-up rug!"
"My only real gripe with mine is that it’s not a very powerful vacuum at default settings. ... The 10R seems to struggle with picking up heavier, aerodynamic debris like rice grains or seeds, on its default settings."
"vacuuming and hair tangling is very poor."

"it's anti-tangle my ass. ... I have to dismantle the whole robot after cleaning because although the hair doesn't tangle around the rollers, it makes up for it by tangling heavily around roller axles and inside the roller (roller ends are hollow)"
"IMHO the brushes are my main eco concern with these, the rubber ones get ruined relly fast by long hair and larger debris."
"If it doesn't get run at least once a day, the roller brush will get clogged."
Go with the Roborock Q7 L5, It’s $250 (CAD), it doesn’t have the auto-emptying charging base but it has all the other leading features and a mop feature too, which makes it very dependable without spending $500>
I love mine. I love on a ranch so have soooooo much dirt and mud. I also have three kids and a husband. This helps knee down on the dirt and dust that feels overwhelming at times. I run it almost every day. It also makes you keep the floor decluttered. I’d recommend it !
I have a five year old Roborock and recommend this brand. There are a number of models, but the non-self-emptying ones seem to be a current bargain. Q7 M5 40% off for $179 at Amazon makes me want to get a second one (the M5 has more suction power than the L5)
I have a Narwal and a Roborock. Wanted to try different brands. We use the Narwal Z10 for mopping and it's great. Sometimes has hiccups where it slams on the breaks every 5 feet (like it detects something that isnt there), but restarting it fixes it. The roborock is a cheaper model, Q7 L5+, but just used for vacuuming, also does an amazing job vaccuuming pet hair especially at the price point.
I got the q7 L5 and it vacuums well, I have two cats that shed quite a bit. I haven't tried the floor washing function yet, but if you're interested in a deeper wash, the model with the rotating mops is better.
That's not the point. Roborock has been supported well for ages, although somewhat inofficially. People are buying Roborock vacuums because you could trust them in being supported. Now there's two new models where they messed with the API for no good reason.
Your Edge C doesn't have the API issue. Affected models are Q7 L5/M5 and Q10.
I got the Roborock Q7 L5 recently, I didn't want to spend a lot because I was skeptical but honestly, it's been great! I run it every day or two, it vacuums everything and then I run it again with the mop. It's not perfect but it saves so much time and hassle.
I had the similar criteria and am happy with Q7 L5. Got it on sale for $230CAN. It was on sale for $199CAN on Prime Day but thought it was worth the $ I paid and didn't bother returning and repurchasing or ask Amazon for a price match. It has passive mopping feature but I don't use it. My floor is already clean and I like steam mopping to keep it clean. I find it interesting how people keep making recommendations about mopping feature even when the person explicitly stated it isn't what they want/need.
We love ours. It’s so nice to start the vacuum right before we go to bed and wake up to a clean floor. We've learned to manage those things that trip it up like wires, rocking chairs etc. You may have your set boundaries for things like a fireplace so it stays out.
If you have long hair, you definitely need a model with an auto-empty station. The dustbin can be full rather quickly without the ability to empty it automatically. I have the same model as yours, and my hair also sheds a lot. It has a 3200 mAh battery capacity, so I won't crank it up to max mode when vacuuming. Usually, for me, the quiet mode is enough on a hard floor, and I will set it on Balance for carpet and activate the Carpet detection mode to automatically increase the suction power while on carpet and turn it down when leaving carpet. To save the battery juice for a single cleaning session, I set each room's suction mode, cycles, and cleaning route separately according to how severe the dirt accumulation in each room is. For areas with high traffic, I set it on a deep cleaning route. If the area is wide, I set it to balanced. If hair accumulation is high in one area, I set it in balance. Carpeted area, I set it on balance + carpet detection. With this strategy, I managed to use only 12% of its battery power when vacuuming in one cleaning cycle. For the mopping part, I use the lowest water level setting to avoid making my floor too wet. I don't do Vac and Mop altogether cause it will make all the dirt become sticky grime inside the robot, and it's painful when cleaning it. I only vacuum once a day in the morning and mop once a day at night when I am home.
Based on your needs, Sados 10r is an overkill except you are planned to move into larger place in the next months. For Roborock, if you don't mind washing and changing the mop pad before every mopping session, you can go with Q7 M5/L5/TF with + designation for auto empty station. The Q10 S5+/X5+ gives more features above Q7 like obstacle avoidance sensor, vibrating mop pad and lifting mop pad unlike passive mop like in Q7. If you need a bit more automation, you can spend a little more on QV35A/QV35S (different only in suction power 8000Pa vs 10000Pa), and Qrevo S (7000Pa but come with warm air mop drying unlike ambient temperature drying in QV35). The QV35 has other names in some regions called Qrevo L. For Dreame, you can go with their D9 Max Gen 2 (no auto-empty dock), D10 Plus Gen 2 (with auto-empty dock), D20 Pro Plus (upgraded from D10 with more features like obstacle avoidance, extendable side brush, dual roller main brush great for anti tangle, and 13000Pa suction). There's also D20 Plus with almost similar specs to D20 Pro Plus but without the extendable side brush for corner cleaning and obstacle avoidance sensor. If you need a bit automation, there is D20 Ultra (offered in certain regions), L10s Ultra, L10s Ultra Gen 2, and so on. There's also Mova (Dreame's cheaper sub-brand) with S10 (cousin to D9), E30 Ultra for a bit more automation but cheap (cousin to D20 Ultra), S20 Ultra, or P10 Pro Ultra. You could also try to check Xiaomi's robots if available in your place. Their customer service is mostly decent and their robot is designed by Dreame using Dreame's older design and sold at cheaper and competitive price than Roborock, Dreame, and Mova.
