"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"

"Like 500$ these robots are currently the steal of the century ... You can get a mova p10 pro ultra (cannot remove its mops), equivalent to the l40/x40 for 500$ after a discount code"

"For an open style earbud, these genuinely surprised me with their overall performance in sound at this price point. ... IMHO, these Soundpeats PearlClip Pro are probably the best I’ve heard in this under $50 price category when it comes to this style of earbuds. ... These are one of the best clip-on earbuds in this price category especially when it comes to price to performance in sound quality and feature set"

"I absolutely do not regret buying the robot vacuum. ... My room is a lot cleaner and dust-free now, and I can tell just by wiping my floor with a wet toilet paper and seeing barely anything picked up. ... I've been getting allergens a ton less, most of which not even in my room. ... All this for the commitment of a weekly emptying is miles more convenient than vacuuming traditionally, as opposed to making a few taps on my phone. ... looking back it was definitely worth the investment."

"My cat has very bad mite allergies, and this vacuum is a must have for us for keeping the floors clean of all dust, dander, and dirt."

"The second floor of my house is all carpeted, and I used to clean with a Dyson V8, but since I got the E28, I haven't vacuumed myself."

"It’s is SO MUCH more quiet than the s7 it ramped up the suction power from 4000 to 19000 yet I can let it clean my office room while being in a call now."

"Extremely quiet compared to our last one to the point where we can have it running while my partner is in work meetings (besides emptying water and dust bin, but that is 10 seconds of loud x 2)."

"I work from home so I have it clean the side im not in during the day and after work it cleans my office side. ... In the morning it starts around 830am and takes about an hour to vac and mop 500 sq feet 1 time. It takes about 30 minutes at 5:30pm to vac my office with carpet and rugs. ... I also have a separate weekday and weekend schedule too. ... If my dogs eat messy, ill send it to their area to clean only."

"It gives up quickly and does not map well. ... For example, first time out, it was unable to leave the kitchen. ... So it mapped the kitchen and a space outside the kitchen that it could see was called a room. But it was only able to see 30% of the actual room. ... It did not update the map as the dreame would each run. ... Sent out for a remap. Got the center room and failed to get the hallway that did not have a threshold to cross, got 20% of another room it could't get in and didn't place a wall where there was a wall."

"my Qrevo Edge was not able to avoid some cables or other things like small pet toys my puppy would bring out at times. ... Once it even ran over a little log (of shit) my puppy left out for it which caused me to have to open it up and clean it out."

"the bot frequently and randomly loses the map so you have to babysit it as you help it remap, and you have to redraw all the virtual boundaries."

"the Roomba left little crumb piles everywhere."

"IMHO the brushes are my main eco concern with these, the rubber ones get ruined relly fast by long hair and larger debris."

"But the filter mesh inlet is very small compared to its competitors in the similar range, which easily gets clogged after a single cleaning cycle, so she has to clean the filter every time after using it."

If Q7, then I would pick the latest variant Q7 M5 for the same $200. [https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q7-M5-Anti-Tangle-APP-Controlled/dp/B0DSJ93KPD?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q7-M5-Anti-Tangle-APP-Controlled/dp/B0DSJ93KPD?th=1) It has improved suction power and better anti-tangling brushes. Q7 Max is comparably old and noisy. If you are very short on budget, there's a refurbished Q5 Pro here ($170) [https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q5-Pro-DuoRoller-Navigation/dp/B0D9QF6BF2?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q5-Pro-DuoRoller-Navigation/dp/B0D9QF6BF2?th=1) Which would be newer and even better than Q7 Max, and much more silent. Don't fall for "5" is less than "7" because it's not. ;-) However the Q5's are about to be phased out.

Then also consider Q8 Max. This is mechanically almost the same as Q5 Pro/Max, but has additional obstacle avoidance sensor. There's also a very new model "Q7 M5", which has the strongest suction of all baseline vacuum-only robots.

Q5 / Q7 / Q8 aren't real combos. They have a mop add-on for occasional use. That's cheap, has no motors and consists of a plastic plate with a cloth. Worth $20 maybe, added manufacturing cost somewhat <$5. So almost all models have these add-ons so they can be sold as "combo". Real mopping starts with scrubbing robots like S8, Q10 S5 or Qrevo.

r/homeassistantWhich robot vacuum is best with HA right now?

That's not the point. Roborock has been supported well for ages, although somewhat inofficially. People are buying Roborock vacuums because you could trust them in being supported. Now there's two new models where they messed with the API for no good reason.

Your Edge C doesn't have the API issue. Affected models are Q7 L5/M5 and Q10.

I have a Roborock Q7 M5 which is pretty mid range, and I feel like it does a pretty good job, even on carpet. I upgraded from the Q7 Max, and have been very happy.

I have a five year old Roborock and recommend this brand. There are a number of models, but the non-self-emptying ones seem to be a current bargain. Q7 M5 40% off for $179 at Amazon makes me want to get a second one (the M5 has more suction power than the L5)

Thanks, I was looking at the Q7 M5 at $179 as a basic replacement. We're in a habit of emptying the bin each day before we run it that I don't feel I \_need\_ the + to auto empty. The bump to 10k Pa is nice.

I have two German shepherd mixes. I run my q7m5 upstairs and clean bin three times per week. I run my q7m5+ daily and it’s on auto collect into white disposable bag I empty weekly. 20$ on Amazon for sixteen. Occasionally (rarely) I vacuum or mop floors manually. Top floor mostly carpet and main floor combo carpet, wood, tile. Clean floors, patterned carpets, bridge upstairs less dust. Despite two hairy love bugs. Absolutely worth it

Out of those four, the Roborock Q7 M5 is almost certainly the best choice. I also agree with the recommendation of the Eufy C10, and generally the utility of a self-empty dock. If you like the Q7 M5, the M5+ (same thing, but with auto-empty dock) is $279.

r/RobotVacuumsIs the Roborock Q5 MAx+ still the best mop-less robot vac?

Sort of. There's also the Eufy L50 and L60 models, which are almost the same except for less suction and a lower price for the L50. Also look at the new Roomba 105 and 705, many Shark models, and the Dyson 360 Vis Nav. As always, check reviews; the Roombas in particular haven't reviewed well. What's more common is a vacuum-only robot with a stationary mop pad that's just stuck on the bottom. Technically, it's a combo with mopping, but the mop is just an add-on, and can be ignored. An example of this is the Roborock Q5 Pro and Pro+, which is the Q5 Max and Max+ with a mop tacked on and a few cosmetic changes. Sometimes, the Pro is even cheaper than the Max, which makes the Pro the smart buy. Just throw the mop plate in a drawer or in the trash. Be careful, though, that you're not sacrificing dustbin space for the water tank. The very similar Roborock Q7 M5 does this, while the Pro has the water tank as part of the mop plate. The most notable model that technically supports mopping, but only as an add-on, is the SwitchBot K10+. It comes with little disposable mopping cloths that attach to hooks on the back of the robot. Ignore the cloths, and you have a very good small robot that can get into lots of tight spaces and which has been reviewed to vacuum well.

If the Roborock has LIDAR (should have a short tower in the middle), then get that one. The G50 doesn't, and some kind of LIDAR is going to be better.

So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.

I bought two. Our home has one very fluffy cat and a guinea pig. -roborock Q8 Max+. This one I intend for our main level. It’s hardwood with area rugs. One tiled bathroom (that is large) and one carpeted bedroom. I don’t know how often I will use the mop function. Hardwood makes me nervous for a robot mop, and I don’t mind doing it myself if the floors are vacuumed. -roborock Q7 M5. Then I wanted something very inexpensive for the 2nd level. Separately I ordered just about the cheapest roborock available. This level is all carpet, some tile. Mop function is sort of unneeded but we’ll try it out. (Biggest bathroom has some tile issues so I prefer to mop myself. 3 other tile areas are very small, very awkward shape) This is to replace our Eufy G30 Verge that we loved and used well for 4y, but only runs 5 minutes at a time. Do I pay for battery replacement? Either way, I plan to put this in the basement which is laminate or lvp (I don’t know the difference. Easygoing fake wood :) and some unfinished concrete.

r/RobotVacuumsBest vacuum under $350??

Recently upgraded from my old Q5+ to [this](https://www.reddit.com/user/Medium-Ship-4873/comments/1q09luh/roborock_q7_m5/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button) . For a non-ultra bot (no auto-mop washing), it's been a solid workhorse. The self-empty base is clutch, I basically never touch the dustbin. The dual brush system is way better for pet hair on my rugs. That said, the mopping is a 'maintenance' thing. It's fine for light daily dust and spills, but it won't scrub a dried-on juice spot. For a house with kids, you'll definitely still need to pull out a real mop now and then. If your main goal is crushing crumbs and pet hair with a decent 'damp clean' on schedule, it's great. If you're trying to fully replace manual mopping, you'd want to step up to one of the auto-wash models."

r/RobotVacuumsTapo RV20 Max Plus vs Roborock Q7 M5 — which one is actually better?

Better to go with Roborock even though both Tapo RV and Roborock Q7 M5 are made by ODM, but Roborock support and consumables are easier to find.

I have this model and it's working great since I bought it months ago. But the filter mesh inlet is very small compared to its competitors in the similar range, which easily gets clogged after a single cleaning cycle, so she has to clean the filter every time after using it. It doesn't have a carpet sensor for auto boost on carpet, but in the app, you can manually set the carpet location for auto boost. This robot also doesn't have an obstacle avoidance sensor, so beware if there is a pet in her house. The battery capacity is around 3200mAh, which is suitable for a small to medium-sized house, but not suited for a large house, as it would take longer to vacuum the house because it needs to pause the cleaning and go back to recharge.

Watch Just A Dad's review of this model on YouTube; he did a review weeks ago. I think the model without the empty station is cheaper than the one with it. But, I think for your case you could buy the lower model Q7 M5 without the self-empty station, which is cheaper and worth it for your small apartment as you don't have pets and mostly hard floors. But the mopping system is just dragging the pad, not vibrating like in Q10 S5, and there is no obstacle avoidance sensor. The battery capacity is 3200 mah; another robot with similar specs to the Q7 M5 with a larger battery is the Dreame D9 Max Gen 2 with a 5300 mah battery, which could go longer without recharging during the cleaning session.

r/RobotVacuumsThose of you with small apartments, what robot do you use?

Based on your needs, Sados 10r is an overkill except you are planned to move into larger place in the next months. For Roborock, if you don't mind washing and changing the mop pad before every mopping session, you can go with Q7 M5/L5/TF with + designation for auto empty station. The Q10 S5+/X5+ gives more features above Q7 like obstacle avoidance sensor, vibrating mop pad and lifting mop pad unlike passive mop like in Q7. If you need a bit more automation, you can spend a little more on QV35A/QV35S (different only in suction power 8000Pa vs 10000Pa), and Qrevo S (7000Pa but come with warm air mop drying unlike ambient temperature drying in QV35). The QV35 has other names in some regions called Qrevo L. For Dreame, you can go with their D9 Max Gen 2 (no auto-empty dock), D10 Plus Gen 2 (with auto-empty dock), D20 Pro Plus (upgraded from D10 with more features like obstacle avoidance, extendable side brush, dual roller main brush great for anti tangle, and 13000Pa suction). There's also D20 Plus with almost similar specs to D20 Pro Plus but without the extendable side brush for corner cleaning and obstacle avoidance sensor. If you need a bit automation, there is D20 Ultra (offered in certain regions), L10s Ultra, L10s Ultra Gen 2, and so on. There's also Mova (Dreame's cheaper sub-brand) with S10 (cousin to D9), E30 Ultra for a bit more automation but cheap (cousin to D20 Ultra), S20 Ultra, or P10 Pro Ultra. You could also try to check Xiaomi's robots if available in your place. Their customer service is mostly decent and their robot is designed by Dreame using Dreame's older design and sold at cheaper and competitive price than Roborock, Dreame, and Mova.
