If Q7, then I would pick the latest variant Q7 M5 for the same $200. [https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q7-M5-Anti-Tangle-APP-Controlled/dp/B0DSJ93KPD?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q7-M5-Anti-Tangle-APP-Controlled/dp/B0DSJ93KPD?th=1) It has improved suction power and better anti-tangling brushes. Q7 Max is comparably old and noisy. If you are very short on budget, there's a refurbished Q5 Pro here ($170) [https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q5-Pro-DuoRoller-Navigation/dp/B0D9QF6BF2?th=1](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Q5-Pro-DuoRoller-Navigation/dp/B0D9QF6BF2?th=1) Which would be newer and even better than Q7 Max, and much more silent. Don't fall for "5" is less than "7" because it's not. ;-) However the Q5's are about to be phased out.

Then also consider Q8 Max. This is mechanically almost the same as Q5 Pro/Max, but has additional obstacle avoidance sensor. There's also a very new model "Q7 M5", which has the strongest suction of all baseline vacuum-only robots.

Q5 / Q7 / Q8 aren't real combos. They have a mop add-on for occasional use. That's cheap, has no motors and consists of a plastic plate with a cloth. Worth $20 maybe, added manufacturing cost somewhat <$5. So almost all models have these add-ons so they can be sold as "combo". Real mopping starts with scrubbing robots like S8, Q10 S5 or Qrevo.

That's not the point. Roborock has been supported well for ages, although somewhat inofficially. People are buying Roborock vacuums because you could trust them in being supported. Now there's two new models where they messed with the API for no good reason.

Your Edge C doesn't have the API issue. Affected models are Q7 L5/M5 and Q10.

Watch Just A Dad's review of this model on YouTube; he did a review weeks ago. I think the model without the empty station is cheaper than the one with it. But, I think for your case you could buy the lower model Q7 M5 without the self-empty station, which is cheaper and worth it for your small apartment as you don't have pets and mostly hard floors. But the mopping system is just dragging the pad, not vibrating like in Q10 S5, and there is no obstacle avoidance sensor. The battery capacity is 3200 mah; another robot with similar specs to the Q7 M5 with a larger battery is the Dreame D9 Max Gen 2 with a 5300 mah battery, which could go longer without recharging during the cleaning session.

Better to go with Roborock even though both Tapo RV and Roborock Q7 M5 are made by ODM, but Roborock support and consumables are easier to find.

I have this model and it's working great since I bought it months ago. But the filter mesh inlet is very small compared to its competitors in the similar range, which easily gets clogged after a single cleaning cycle, so she has to clean the filter every time after using it. It doesn't have a carpet sensor for auto boost on carpet, but in the app, you can manually set the carpet location for auto boost. This robot also doesn't have an obstacle avoidance sensor, so beware if there is a pet in her house. The battery capacity is around 3200mAh, which is suitable for a small to medium-sized house, but not suited for a large house, as it would take longer to vacuum the house because it needs to pause the cleaning and go back to recharge.

Usually, Roborock, Dreame, and Mova are known for their apps' granular settings. I can set a cleaning schedule and cleaning settings for individual rooms in my budget Roborock Q7 M5.

It's fine, but it's better to choose a robot with lifting ability like Roborock Qrevo with adaptilift or Dreame X50 because some people here reported that their robot without such a feature couldn't even climb thick carpets. I have Roborock Q7 M5, idk about its climbing over threshold ability cause my house doesn't have one, but in the app, it has a threshold marking function. Basically, it told the robot to pass through the threshold without cleaning.

Based on your needs, Sados 10r is an overkill except you are planned to move into larger place in the next months. For Roborock, if you don't mind washing and changing the mop pad before every mopping session, you can go with Q7 M5/L5/TF with + designation for auto empty station. The Q10 S5+/X5+ gives more features above Q7 like obstacle avoidance sensor, vibrating mop pad and lifting mop pad unlike passive mop like in Q7. If you need a bit more automation, you can spend a little more on QV35A/QV35S (different only in suction power 8000Pa vs 10000Pa), and Qrevo S (7000Pa but come with warm air mop drying unlike ambient temperature drying in QV35). The QV35 has other names in some regions called Qrevo L. For Dreame, you can go with their D9 Max Gen 2 (no auto-empty dock), D10 Plus Gen 2 (with auto-empty dock), D20 Pro Plus (upgraded from D10 with more features like obstacle avoidance, extendable side brush, dual roller main brush great for anti tangle, and 13000Pa suction). There's also D20 Plus with almost similar specs to D20 Pro Plus but without the extendable side brush for corner cleaning and obstacle avoidance sensor. If you need a bit automation, there is D20 Ultra (offered in certain regions), L10s Ultra, L10s Ultra Gen 2, and so on. There's also Mova (Dreame's cheaper sub-brand) with S10 (cousin to D9), E30 Ultra for a bit more automation but cheap (cousin to D20 Ultra), S20 Ultra, or P10 Pro Ultra. You could also try to check Xiaomi's robots if available in your place. Their customer service is mostly decent and their robot is designed by Dreame using Dreame's older design and sold at cheaper and competitive price than Roborock, Dreame, and Mova.

Get the Roborock QR 798 or Q10 PF/VF or its + variant if you want an automatic empty station included. I'm in Southeast Asia, too! I have had a Q7 TF (similar to Q10 without a vibrating mop and obstacle avoidance) for three weeks, and I love it. I mainly use it to clean hard floors and low-pile rugs. - Q10 has two versions PF (lifting mop) and VF (vibrating mop similar to S8 Max and Saros 10). The + variants included the auto-empty station. - QR 798 is similar to QRevo S but slightly cheaper at least in my country 🇮🇩 - Xiaomi X20+ quite similar to Dreame L10 series and cheaper than QR 798 and L10 (in 🇮🇩). It already has obstacle avoidance features, but unlike Roborock Q7TF and Q10 PF/VF, it doesn't have an anti-hair tangle feature. - Xiaomi X 20 Max - Dreame L10s Ultra gen 2 All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns.

Maybe try the Q10V+ because you could save some money. I have a cheaper Q7 TF, which is basically Q10 PF/VF without a vibrating mop pad and obstacle avoidance sensor. It did a good job as a hard floor sweeper even in quiet settings, and it already has anti-hair tangling features, which, in my case, I never had a single human hair strand stuck for three weeks.

Oh, that's the Australian version of Q7 TF (Asia), Q7 L5 (Canada), and Q7 M5 (US). I have Q7 TF for 4 months and it works great for me. Mine has larger suction power (10000 Pa) vs Q7b (8000 Pa). The anti-tangle brush works great for human hair (but idk for pet hair since my cat is always outside). The mopping is ancient like a Swiffer, but the electronically controlled water pump valve is better than the passive/gravity one in the older Q5. I would like to have the plus version, but at that time it was out of stock, so I took one without the self-empty dock.

The reliability is also related to the brand reputation. I have a budget Roborock Q7 and for me budget model means cheap enough to be replaced if it's broken in 2 to 3 years. Try to find a model where you can easily find replacement spare parts and you can service it by yourself.

It's decent if it's used for a small room like a dorm and has no carpet at all. I have Xiaomi E5 alongside Dreame F9 and Roborock Q7, it did quite well picking up dust on hard floor (not carpet obviously). But, the less efficient gyroscope navigation drains the battery more than my F9 and Q7, and takes half an hour to clean my small studio-size dorm. My Q7 takes only 15 minutes, F9 is 20 to 30 minutes, and E5 takes 30 to 40 minutes.

I have a Roborock Q7 M5 which is pretty mid range, and I feel like it does a pretty good job, even on carpet. I upgraded from the Q7 Max, and have been very happy.

I got the q7 m5 for $160 during prime day deals. Working great for my needs.

I have a five year old Roborock and recommend this brand. There are a number of models, but the non-self-emptying ones seem to be a current bargain. Q7 M5 40% off for $179 at Amazon makes me want to get a second one (the M5 has more suction power than the L5)

I have a Q7 M5 that i only use for vacuuming. 3 rooms have low pile carpet, the rest is tile or hardwood. I don't see the point in mopping with just cold water so I leave that to once monthly via my house cleaner. I'm realistic about how clean i can keep things on a farm with lots of cats and dogs and two people who don't always take their shoes off at the door. All that to say i am happy with what the Q7 M5 can do. The self emptying feature is reliable. The app is obnoxious but I did finally figure it out. For the price I would say get 2 rather than carry it up and downstairs. They are heavy and a little onerous to carry if your hands are compromised by arthritis.

Thanks, I was looking at the Q7 M5 at $179 as a basic replacement. We're in a habit of emptying the bin each day before we run it that I don't feel I \_need\_ the + to auto empty. The bump to 10k Pa is nice.

I have two German shepherd mixes. I run my q7m5 upstairs and clean bin three times per week. I run my q7m5+ daily and it’s on auto collect into white disposable bag I empty weekly. 20$ on Amazon for sixteen. Occasionally (rarely) I vacuum or mop floors manually. Top floor mostly carpet and main floor combo carpet, wood, tile. Clean floors, patterned carpets, bridge upstairs less dust. Despite two hairy love bugs. Absolutely worth it
