I have the Q7B. Despite good enough specs IMO it just feels cheaper. In real world it gets stuck a lot more frequently than my 3 other robot vacuums (combination of Roborock and Dreame) Mopping setup is more annoying than the others also but functionally is as good (bad) Would say that the firmware has updated a couple of times and it seems to function better, get stuck less, so maybe long term it’ll be ok but not ready to call it yet.

Just upgraded my Roborock Q7B to a QRevo Edge C. $950 in Aus, and I think it's worth the price, but there are some things I could see it handling better. For reference I have a Border Collie x Samoyed with a double coat that blows out every 6 months + meds that make the hair growth problem worse, 1 long haired adult, 1 baby that refuses to keep food off the floor. House is mostly tiles with bedrooms carpeted, and a large wool rug that's still shedding. My vacuum is a Dyson V8. It clogs up on the rug but handles everything else OK. What I like about the QRevo EdgeC: * Duo divide brush does not get hair clogs, unlike the Q7B's single brush * Suction on max pulls the hair out of the wool rug * Pet avoidance is good, the Q7B frequently tried to eat my dog's tail * Obstacle avoidance is excellent * Auto-empty feature successfully pulls the combined hair and wool rug clump out. On the Dyson you have to set it to max temporarily every 30s on the rug or it gets blocked. * Flexiarm brush and mop do a decent job of corners * Fairly quiet What I don't like: * Mop pressure isn't sufficient to get 2hr-old sweet potato off the floor, and it struggles with kitchen grease * Wifi performance is a bit shit, although I've just swapped networks so will see if that improves * Models that leave the mop at the dock seem more useful for mixed-cleaning modes - the mops stay on for this one, but it does lift them over the rug Bagged seems easier than bagless. Bagless dustbins with vac & mop just mean you have to scrape the wet, dusty gunk out yourself (Q7B got gross, fast). I don't have any thresholds so I can't comment on that, and this model doesn't have an RGB camera to chase pets around if those features are important to you. No auto-detergent dispensing feature either, you need to pour the capful in to the main tank like a peasant. The next model up was at least another $400 and there's no way I could justify the price difference.

Yeah, the mop lift for me is enough to not wet the carpet - or you can change the settings to vacuum first, then mop. Some vacuums have better mopping options, like swapping out mop pads or a roller mop that's continuously refreshed with clean water etc etc. I've only had it a week or so, so I can't tell you yet how much the bag will hold. At its current rate I'd estimate I'll get 4-5 weeks out of a bag. The way I decided on a robovac is that I bought the Q7B for $200 on the Black Friday sales last year. Worked out what I liked (it got into corners that I would never see, it kept on top of the endless hair), worked out what I didn't like (manual cleaning of everything, always trying to eat my dog and cables, constant hair tangles, static mop was useless), and then found something that fixed the things I didn't like. The tech is only getting better, what's flagship this year will be discounted the next year. I'd save your money and buy mid-range and then accept that in a few years' time something even better will be out at that price point. EDIT: should also add that the EdgeC does not have the adaplift chassis. I don't have thresholds, so it's not in my priorities for the price.

I just got the Q7B on sale for AUD$200 and so far it seems brilliant, really impressed with the mapping capabilities. It's got a drag mop function, but just leave the mop plate off and don't fill the water tank and voila, you have a vacuum-only model. It auto-detects whether the mop plate is installed. I haven't even tried the mop yet, I may or may not do it once in a blue moon when we're on hand to keep an eye on it, but I'm mostly intending this as a semi-regular routine clean of the hallway and kitchen to pick up all the hair the cat keeps shedding everywhere. And sometimes sending it into the carpeted bedrooms. There's an auto-empty dock version (robot is the same), but it was an extra $150 and I couldn't see enough justification for that, I'd sooner buy two robots.

I recently bought the cheapest Roborock Q7 BF or something and to be honest I am very happily surprised. But I have 2 cats and an apartment, so for me, it was purely against the cat hairs and I expected nothing more. Having worked at an online retailer, I know how many times people called, (a lot) because their robot had some sort of issue no matter which brand or version. So I bought the cheapest with the least amount of functions, no dock where it empties itself and I don't use it to mop either. It's a round robot on your floor, keep that in mind. Your house won't be cleaned by it and there are still parts you have to vacuum yourself. Paying 800-1000 eu/dollar for one of these is just insane marketing with gimmicky stuff and a big box. DON'T DO IT. The robot will still get sometimes stuck or tries to vacuum something that won't fit to then start calling for help. I don't want China to have access to my phone, let alone a LIDAR scan of my house, so I just press start and it does the rest. I don't use any app, neither should anyone tbh.

To clarify my opinion at least, the 360 visnav is the best robot I've used vacuuming wise. Where it manages to vacuum, it does it extremely well. But the actual navigation efficiency and software parts are some of the worst, meaning it often wastes a ton of time or misses huge areas of the space. The vacuum part is amazing, the robot part is amazingly bad. Making a new robot to drive around the vacuuming parts would have been incredible. Roborock's current Q7 (the newest one, older Q7 versions were not. Gotta love roborock's confusing naming) is definitely made by Picea (I don't know about the q10). And it's mediocre at best. Vacuuming performance is poor, build quality is meh, navigation is adequate, bin design and filtration are absolutely awful IMO. I don't get the praise for the current Q7. Every Picea made robot I've tried has been mediocre at best.

Getting a robot vac as a suplement to perform a daily sweep and help keep on top of the floors can be helpful ideal. Replacing a normal upright entirely with a robot is not such a good idea. No robot can match the rug cleaning performance and power of a normal vac, they can't reach a lot of spots or vacuum furniture and corners either. I would always recommend having a normal vac around for deeper cleaning. Robot vacs do require maintenance themselves especially if long hair is involved. The rollers, even "anti tangle" ones accumulate hair in the brush roller ends which need to be cleared out regularly, on top of the regular filter cleaning and emptying. Plus they can struggle if cords, sock, and pet toys are laying around. All that said and if you think the maintainence won't be a burden, I'd look at the roborock q7 and q10 series of models. I've had relatively good luck with robotock machines, and they should help keep up with the floors. I wouldn't pay much attention to mopping functions either. Usually they're more work than help.

Honestly if mop functionality isn't something you'd use, I'd look for vacuum only models or models without the mop washing docking station at least. Even if they include a basic mop, usually it's removable and you can just stash it away. Roborock Q7 or Q10 for example. You'll get equally good vacuuming for a lower price and smaller footprint. Personally I find carrying a robot between floors to be annoying, I prefer to just have separate ones on each floor. You might be able to get two vac only robots for close to the price of the QV35A and save yourself having to move them between floors.
