I went Roborock as the reliability is meant to be better than Eufy when I done reading into it (Alot of Eufys dying in only 2 years of use) Got a Roborock Qrevo Curv S5X for £450 in black Friday and it's been great. Washes the mops in hot water too which is handy. Routing and collision avoidance is good and it hasn't attempted to throw itself down the stairs. It's normal enemy are cables lying on the floor though which it doesn't recognise then gets confuse4d. Dreame were a close second for me as they're meant to be solid units too.

I have a Roborock QRevo Curv S5X, it does all of that. Our house is 3600 sq ft, 4 humans, one dog, and I have hand-scraped hardwoods. The floors look great every day. Vacuum daily, mop every other day

Good question. My one dog is small & doesn’t shed. My sister has 4 pugs and it handles her floors (she has same model). Not sure whether the amount of shedding is similar or not.

I have had it since August. The vac can me loud if on the turbo setting, but I rarely use that. Mopping is very quiet. Our bedroom is not near the kitchen/dining/pantry, so it does those at 2am vac then mop (has never woke me up, just have to remember to leave pantry door open before bed). It does my hall/bathroom/bedroom/guest bath/laundry at 10am, then our offices (2) at 5:30pm. Basically it works where we aren’t.

I have never had mine fall downstairs, and there is also the ability to set the “no go” zone there. I will say that I have seen on Reddit that some people got a dud and had to get it replaced, but I (and my sister) have had zero issues and the floors are spotless 🤷🏻‍♀️

Qrevo Curv S5X downstairs and Qrevo Edge S5A upstairs. Main difference is the docking station shape/color. Otherwise equivalent.

Same. Got ours in November and the floors are spotless. Complete gamechanger

Agree. Does my hardwood floors and tile floors perfectly, and raises the mops for rugs

Nvm found it, Yeah I see the Curve S5X only negative thing is that it has Reactive Tech and that obstacle avoidance is even worse than my older S8 :/

Exactly what I was looking for. I chose the QRevo Curv S5x. It’s basically the QRevo Curv without chassis lift and camera. It comes with extendable brush and hot mop washing.

I am happy with it, there are two people with long hair in our household and we have zero issues with the divided brush. I don’t miss the lift, we do not have door steps, only a 1cm height difference between bathroom and hallway wich is no problem.

Mapping went super well, edge cleaning is ok. Obstacles avoidance works for me but we usually clear the floor so we do not provide a good test environment. It won’t run over my crawling baby though :D

It works well with regular corners / edges but I think it should get closer to some cabinets oder out bedframe. I think it’s way better than an robot without extendable brush though.

Probably the qx revo arc because its the only one with roborocks duo divide brush, which basically makes it have zero tangles at all. Which you will probably need because your dog is a heavy shedder. Just be warned that all those models have pretty bad obstacle avoidance, so you will need to tidy up before you run it. Sadly it seems like the qx revo ultra isnt in stock or isnt there all the time, which is basically the best option from costco.

Im pretty sure its good with carpets, the whole curv line in general is really good with carpets

The Arc is the same as the curv s5x [https://makerworld.com/en/models/1251457-roborock-qrevo-curv-s5x-x-dustbin#profileId-1274103](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1251457-roborock-qrevo-curv-s5x-x-dustbin#profileId-1274103)

Id say your best options are probably the Mova P10 Pro Ultra Gen 2 or the Roborock Curv S5x

Yeah went for the curv yesterday for £550 in the end. Got fed up if going round in circles. Just hope my dog doesn't eat it not for that money. Should have maybe got a cheap one for him to get used to first.

It seems to be so. It’ll be worse on the S5X model. There is the MOVA P50 Pro Ultra for €749 and that could be worth checking out.

> -It should automatically clean the pads in the charging station with hot water and automatically refill the robot with cleaning solution and water. I don’t believe the Curv has a dedicated detergent tank for this so you’d manually have to add some detergent to the clean water tanks -I want as little effort as possible, except for filling and emptying the tanks. You still should tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning runs, and give the robot and its home a good clean once every two to three weeks if run daily.

Most robots should do well with chair legs and clean more closely to surfaces. The LDS only curv s5x will basically eat every cord and sock as LDS-only systems aren't great at identifying small objects, so please tidy your home up before it runs. Only the Ecovacs T80 Omni and the Mova P50 Pro Ultra have an RGB camera. The t80 omni requires ambient light because it lacks a flashlight, whereas the p50 pro ultra has one and performs better with smaller obstacles like cords and socks (ecovacs’ obstacle avoidance is pretty poor compared to other brands). MOVA/Dreame has the best corner and toekick cleaning algorithms for its extendable side brush and mop, but the extended mop can ride up against wall moldings when extended. If you have wall moldings, I’d recommend the Curv S5X to avoid this. I heard of P50 Pro Ultras having their front caster wheels break, but MOVA has stated that the production issue has been fixed. If you want this model, I’d buy it from a retailer with a generous return policy so you can return it if you get the older, defective batch.

Many good options exist! Very happy to report that my robot can battle my long haired corgi’s fur and drool. 3rd party consumables are easily accessible on other platforms like AliExpress/taobao Will say that the eufy e25 has been noted by some owners to be loud when autoemptying. Other than that it should work fine in your home :) I’d really go for a robot with a larger dustbin (300-500mL) and can fully make use of its dustbin space. Models would include something like the dreame 20 pro plus/mova e30 pro plus for a cheaper vacuum focused robot but higher end robots like the roborock QRevo Curv S5X (I’ve seen several cat owners put cat ears on their robot’s base station) or the dreame x50 (found for 699 at their US physical store which ships for free and the higher than average battery consumption should be fine since you live in an apartment)

3.6 inches/9.1cm is quite a generous clearance. If you worry about it being good at avoiding things, brands like DJI, dreame, eufy, matic, mova, Narwal, will fare better than ecovacs and roborock at obstacle avoidance. Out of the brands I listed, dreame/mova models with a spinning mop and a retracting lidar will fit. If you’re okay with tidying up, ecovacs (t50) and roborock (Saros lineup, Curv X) also have options that are also short enough to fit under there. As for long hair, dreame/MOVA and roborock do better mainly because they rely on the airflow directing any tangled hair into the dustbin instead of combing it like ecovacs.

I've posted a comment recommending a QRevo C for those in Australia with a strict budget of 1500 AUD and the Dreame L40S Ultra for those looking for flagship performance at a cheaper price of 1999 AUD.

I'd recommend the Roborock Qrevo C, priced at AUD 1,298 at Harvey Norman and the official Roborock website store (I've seen negative reviews of the roborock store in Australia so I'd choose Harvey Norman), which offers Product Care for up to two years. The Dreame L30 Ultra S was considered but ultimately rejected because the QRevo C offered the same functionality at a lower price. Do tap the dust out of the filter once every few cleaning cycles, and clean it once every few weeks. The removable mop tray on the QRevo makes cleaning easy. If you wanted to go above your budget, I'd recommend the Dreame L40S Ultra at 1999 AUD, as its better suited to deal with pet fur for its onboard fur compression feature which means it will use the dustbin more effectively and won't get clogged with fur, with space still present in the dustbin. It will also clean the mop pad's cleaning tray more effectively (less cleaning for you) and can clean its own filter when auto-emptying (the need to clean the filter will be reduced to about once every few weeks, as the need to tap the dust out of the filter is eliminated). It also cleans quieter, which will be helpful for any skittish pets. It can remove mops for rugs.

If your budget is up to 2000 AUD, I’d recommend the Dreame L40S Ultra at 1999 AUD. This is because it’s currently the easiest robot to maintain and empty and is best suited for pet fur and dust. It is a flagship robot at a not so flagship price. 1. Most robot vacuums’ filter easily get clogged by dust. I run mine twice a day in a dusty city (AQI PM2.5 is usually at the high 70s) and I need to tap the dust out of the filter of an older robot at the end of every day. However the new dreame robots (L40S ultra, L40S pro Ultra, and the X50 Ultra) in Australia cleans its own filter when it autoempties. For pet fur: The dual anti-tangle main brushes work great for pet hair and the same models can also compress the fur in the dustbin as it vacuums. I have a heavily shedding corgi and the old robot wouldn’t be able to handle his fur as it’ll be clogged with a lot of empty space on the sides of the dustbin to the point that running it twice a day would mean he wouldn’t shed enough for this to happen. However, the models with the fur compression feature will be able to push any fur to the end of the dustbin and will not be as easily clogged with empty spaces. It can also remove the mop for cleaning the carpets as the mops dragging on the carpets will reduce the carpet cleaning efficiency. For maintaining the mopping part: The AceClean dryboard (its mop pad cleaning tray) on these models is currently the best self cleaning mop tray that can clean its mops as the only maintenance required is to occasionally clean a removable palm-sized drainage filter and wipe down the flat dryboard (no nooks and crannies for dirt to hide). If your budget is 1500 AUD, I’d choose the roborock QRevo C (1298 at Harvey Norman). It has good navigation, coverage, and does well with pet hair tangling around the brushes. However, the maintenance won’t be as hands off. Luckily, the mop pad cleaning tray is completely removable for cleaning. It uses the friction between the mop pads and the nubs to clean the mop giving places for dirt to hide whereas the AceClean dryboard uses water jets to clean the mops like a dishwasher.

Both the Saros 10r and the QRevo Curv have the same self-cleaning functionality since the squeegee based mop pad tray is shared. Anti-tangle will be the same for both robots. Is Xiaomi available? As far as I am aware, only Dreame’s models with the dual anti-tangling brushes (excluding the one with the track type roller mop) has the ability to clean its own filter when autoemptying.

Both the QRevo Curv and Saros 10r have the removable mop tray. The MOVA P50 will be better at cleaning the mop pad tray with their water jet-based approach with the AceClean dryboard. There’s only a palm sized filter that needs to be removed and cleaned every once in a while. The rest of the mop tray isn’t removable but there’s barely any nooks and crannies to be cleaned there so it is easily cleaned with a Clorox wipe.

If you need it to under furniture with much lower clearance (like about 9cm) and automatic detergent adding is a non negotiable, get the Saros 10. If not, the Curv itself is a good choice. Are there any sales soon? If so, I’d wait for those.

The QRevo Curv/Edge (with a lot of numbers behind it) should have no RGB camera. The QRevo Edge C is one of them.

For spinning mops: Station Self cleaning: Dreame X50 Ultra > roborock Curv/Edge Saros 10R > Dreame L/X40 Ultra >≈ Ecovacs models with wipers in mop pad cleaning tray marketed as the 150 day cleaning free tray > roborock qrevo > all other dreame and ecovacs robots

Bigger dustbin + good use of dustbin when it comes to fur (no empty space should be in the dustbin when fur clogs it) + frequent autoemptying = better for dealing with hair and fur. For a vacuum only model, the roborock Q5 Max+ and the Q8 Max+ have a sizeable dustbin and uses the dustbin space well and has an autoempty station. The dual rollers help with fur pickup. In the US Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra fulfills these requirements as a combo model. So does the MOVA V50 Ultra for Canadian customers. The QRevo series has the same issue with some dreame models where the dustbin will be clogged with fur but there’ll be a lot of empty space on the sides. It’ll be good for picking up fur on carpets with its dual brushes but I think the eufy X8 should be better for dealing with finer dust.

Best anti-tangling system on Roborocks is the Duo Divide brush, that is two half brushes with the gap in the center. You find it in any Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge and Saros 10 / 10R. If you don't need \- Climbing high thresholds \- Camera+Video \- Voice assistant then you could consider the light variants Qrevo Edge S5A or Qrevo Curv S5X. You may choose Curv or Edge just from the dock design. The robots are quite the same.

Best value is found in the midrange. That's the Qrevo series. \* Qrevo S5V is a complete standard model without the expensive bells and whistles. Above that, \* Qrevo Slim if you need it to go under cupboards with low clearance. It is also the last model with the famous DuoRoller design. Intense working on carpet. \* Qrevo Curv if you like the design and need it to cross thresholds, or like the camera and voice control stuff \* Qrevo Edge S5A or Curv S5X only differ in dock design. Be aware they are less robot than Curv / Edge despite having more fancy letters. Prefer a DuoDivide brush model if you face long hair and want some anti-tangling.

When it comes to AdaptiLift, the value for me personally would be exactly zero. But just because I have neither steps, thresholds nor high piles. If you intend to get a clean shag with AdaptiLift, expect no big satisfaction. It will enable the robot to cross it, but not vacuum well with the body lifted. The rollers will just touch the surface, but there's no deep vacuuming possible. In general, if you'd need a lift to conquer a carpet, it is too much compromised to clean effectively, so the feature is pointless. Except for crossing thresholds, here it makes sense.
