"Roborock has the best Matter support I've used. ... They support 1.4 which allows you to choose a room, whether to mop or vacuum and it's not just on/off functionality like Matter 1.3. ... Robo’s is the best so far that I’ve used. ... You get rooms and a few other features with 1.4, maybe even being able to select mop and/or vacuum. ... Also, in iOS Beta 26 we now have charging status support."

"Auto mop washing is probably one of the most worthwhile features of any robot mop. ... The rotating mops have been so successful compared to vibrating partially because the washing system is so simple. ... Since the pads rotate on the robot itself, the dock doesn’t need moving parts to clean the mop. The pads simple rotate quickly on what is basically a fixed washboard and the dirty water is sucked out. Way simpler and therefore cheaper, hardly anything to break."

Update : got a refund and bought the new Roborock Q Revo. Hopefully it’s better for us.
I’m in Australia, and after much deliberation bought the Roborock Qrevo EdgeC during Black Friday. Loved it, however it had a fault - wouldn’t empty out debris into the dustbag. None left in stock with no ETA so I back ordered a Dreame L40S which I ran for the first time today. Three cats. They’re mostly on par for performance - quiet, works great (found cat hair pickup on carpet better on turbo setting). I liked that the Dreame leaves mop pads in the dock while vacuuming. Only ran it today for the first time so I’ll still figure things out. But they have a lot of similarities, doesn’t feel much different. Little nice to haves: Dreame came with cleaning fluid, Roborock did not. Dreame has a cover on the top. Roborock had a longer power cord I think - I needed the length for the space its in. It’s fine, but a noticeable difference.
Definitely the qrevo edget if the price difference is only 50 extra
You’d definitely want your robot to clean frequently. I run mine twice a day. Dreame L40S Pro Ultra is 1799 at JB HIFI and will clean just as well if there are no thresholds up to 2.4cm. QRevo edge will be better for higher thresholds up to 3cm. However, the MOVA z50 ultra will mop much better than both models.
They're basically equivalent models! Only differences are going to be with firmware.
I’d go with the edge. It has a larger dustbin at 325mL which is better suited for fur and the Saros 10r’s dustbin is at 270mL. Unless you need the Saros’ short height of 7.98cm, I’d go with the edge too. The Saros 10R mops are compatible with the edge’s mop pad holder so you can switch them around and see if they make a difference.
Awesome I never knew the edge was sold at Australian Costco, will keep this in mind for other Australians :)
Otherwise they’ll all clean about just as well. I prefer the roborock edge and Curv to be easier to clean as the mop washboard is removable unlike the dreame X40.
Do you mean the L40 Ultra AE? I think the edge is a better choice if it is at a similar price.
I’ll go for the edge . It has better corner cleaning than the l40 ultra AE as the l40 ultra AE has no extendable side brush. Wires will be an issue for the edge so do put a no go zone or put them away. I’d get it from Amazon for easy returns so if the edge doesn’t work you can get the l40 ultra AE :)
How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.
The QRevo Curv/Edge (with a lot of numbers behind it) should have no RGB camera. The QRevo Edge C is one of them.
After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.
https://www.smarthomeassistent.de/saugroboter/ Narwal robots and Roborock’s spinning mop robots have the easiest to clean mop washboard as they’re completely removable (the autoempty Narwal models have a disposable dustbin attachment to avoid cleaning it but I find that rather wasteful). The roborock base qrevo is already a pretty good robot as it’s pretty tangle resistant with an all rubber main brush. Roborock’s generally vacuum better than the Narwal but the Narwal has an antitangle conical rubber and bristle brush that works great with the smoothest obstacle avoidance for camera enabled models with the best smart clean mode. As for models, the narwal’s Freo Z ultra is at 549 euros. However it’s very water hungry and requires constant water tank refilling and emptying. This should be the most cost effective choice if you are mainly concerned with ease of maintenance.
Bigger dustbin + good use of dustbin when it comes to fur (no empty space should be in the dustbin when fur clogs it) + frequent autoemptying = better for dealing with hair and fur. For a vacuum only model, the roborock Q5 Max+ and the Q8 Max+ have a sizeable dustbin and uses the dustbin space well and has an autoempty station. The dual rollers help with fur pickup. In the US Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra fulfills these requirements as a combo model. So does the MOVA V50 Ultra for Canadian customers. The QRevo series has the same issue with some dreame models where the dustbin will be clogged with fur but there’ll be a lot of empty space on the sides. It’ll be good for picking up fur on carpets with its dual brushes but I think the eufy X8 should be better for dealing with finer dust.
Qrevo EdgeT with some extra consumables, definitely. Costco made another deal to sell an exclusive model. I guess the EdgeT will not be available at Amazon or Roborock store in the US. But ehm... what's that name? Another naming scheme violation. "Ultra" was always a dock with the washing system for a Vibrarise robot. So "Ultra" contradicts with "Revo". But who cares if it sounds cool and could be sold in huge quantity? I guess Costco customers will love it. Its configuration makes sense, even when you cannot get the high threshold climbing for this price.
Best anti-tangling system on Roborocks is the Duo Divide brush, that is two half brushes with the gap in the center. You find it in any Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge and Saros 10 / 10R. If you don't need \- Climbing high thresholds \- Camera+Video \- Voice assistant then you could consider the light variants Qrevo Edge S5A or Qrevo Curv S5X. You may choose Curv or Edge just from the dock design. The robots are quite the same.
Curv, Edge and Saros, all models with AdaptiLift can stretch their legs to go over long pile without getting stuck. But don't expect them do do any good vacuuming while being raised.
Duo Roller is never better than the DuoDivide of Edge. Master has a design problem. The revo mops plus DualRoller make the body so cramped that only a very tiny dustbin remains. And this even has a flawed design and cannot fill properly. But if you don't have a hair or dust problem at all, it still might be the right model for you.
Let's make some corner points. \* What moves will eventually break. So you may possibly not want the most tech cramped can-do-it-all robot like Saros 10R, because repair cost would not be cheap. \* Do you need it to climb thresholds >2cm? Then look at Qrevo Curv/Edge and Saros for their AdaptiLift feature. \* Long hair and pets -- A robot with the DuoDivide main brush system is recommended. It's doing a great job with anti tangling hair removal. My best guessed pick would be a Qrevo Edge S5A or Curv S5X, depending on which dock design you prefer. The robots are technically the same. These are light versions of Edge and Curv, don't have the adaptive body lift, don't have camera and voice assist. But you save quite some $$. Qrevo S5V is an economy choice, also having the DuoDivide roller brush. For lower maintenance, go with a revo mopper. Don't get a Vibrarise / sonic mopper.
Q(X)revo is an excellent entry level active mopper. A huge upgrade to an S5. Welcome to the world of active scrubbing and autonomous washing with water management. You will enjoy it.
I’ve got the roborock qrevo edge c and love it.
I bought a Roborock Qrevo Edge 5V1 for 499€
Sure. German Saturn/Mediamarkt: https://www.saturn.de/de/product/_roborock-qrevo-edge-5v1-mit-18500-pa-und-ki-hinderniserkennung-saug-and-wischroboter-2992257.html They sell it on eBay too for 499€: https://ebay.us/m/kLySqW But I'm not sure if the price is the same for other countries.
I just bought this last night. 50% off black Friday deal. Roborock Qrevo EdgeC Robot Vacuum and Mop https://amzn.asia/d/2ogKwPh
I caved and bought the Roborock Qrevo Edge 5v1 (Don't need the jumping feature the Edge has, the house is level all around.) Just got it for 600 usd on sale! Can't wait for it to arrive!
Honestly I'd recommend avoiding Ecovacs, look at their reddit community. I ended up buying a Roborock Qrevo Edge 5v1 and it's been awesome. Cleans edges real well and doesn't leave streaks on my marble floor.
So far I've had a great time with my unit. My house's all marble floor, and I run the robot on all the rooms besides the bedrooms. Our house is kinda like an expo hall. From the front to the back porch, therets no partitions. We have huge windows we open daily, so the polution is real. I have a Husky and she sheds like crazy, but the vac does an excellent job picking up all her furs. One thing to note, our house's all marble flooring with no carpets, so I can't comment on how well it'll do on carpets. Everyday it'll vac at 22:30 pm and finish at around 12:25 am with about 45% battery remaining. I set it to mop some rooms every Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5:00 am. Have to clean and refill water every 2 cycles. I don't use any solution, doesn't really work well on the marble floor. Plain old tap water is good enough. My house is a clutter, not with things on the floor, but with decorative furniture. The first week I had the obstacle avoidance on and it skipped quite a lot, so I've had it turned off and now it cleans everything. For furniture I don't want it to bump I set a no-go zone. For the rest, I let it bump and clean everything. I have a smart plug set to manage charging hours, and it's plugged through a voltage stabilizer to reduce battery wear.
Never tangled on the roller! My sis and mom also shed (hehehe) but their hairs don't tangle too
So glad you're enjoying yours as well! Yeah, the map kinda updates every run so even with furniture moved around, it won't really need to re-scan map. I turn off the obstacle avoidance feature, it's cleaned close to every corners it can get to. I potty train my pets, they only potty at a corner of my garden so the house is poop and pee free lol
Yes, it has a headlight that I have seen turn on when it goes under furniture or in a dark room. BTW, another poster here pointed out that the EdgeT is on sale at Costco for $799 as the QX Revo Ultra. [https://www.costco.com/p/-/roborock-qx-revo-ultra-robot-vacuum-and-mop-with-18500-pa-hyperforce-and-multifunctional-dock-30/4000376184](https://www.costco.com/p/-/roborock-qx-revo-ultra-robot-vacuum-and-mop-with-18500-pa-hyperforce-and-multifunctional-dock-30/4000376184) Here it is on the Roborock site - [https://global.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-edge-series](https://global.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-edge-series) To me it looks like a Qrevo Edge with the CurvX's retractable LIDAR and obstacle avoidance. I already have a CurvX and was looking for a second one for upstairs. I think I'm going to buy this one.
I recently bought a Roborock Qrevo EdgeT for my 80+ square meters flat. I have a lot of furniture though, so the effective area for the robot to clean is around 50 square meters. It cleans the floors twice, both times vaccuming and mopping, returning to the dock to clean the mops every 20 minutes. It takes almost exactly 2 hours for all that, leaving the battery at around 30-40 percent. So I'd assume that it can clean 75 meters on one charge no problem. Even if it didn't have enough charge, it would recharge and complete the cleaning later. A full bucket of water on the dock will last about 3-4 cleaning cycles. I love how much customization the application allows, and how much presicion the robot delivers. I can set an area that has a 'carpet' that the robot must avoid (a dog pee mat). The robot cleans the area around, never touching the mat. It automatically boosts vacuuming power while cleaning all carpets (also customizable). As far as I can say, hair don't get tangled on the rollers. I have a wife and 3 pets living in here, and the rollers are pristine. The app suggests cleaning the internals once a month, so overall the machine is very low-maintenance: refill the clean water bucket, and empty and rinse the dirty water bucket once every 2-3 days, replace the dust bag every 2-3 weeks. The thing also detects pets and doesn't move towards them when close, so I imagine it would work the same way with toddlers.
