It is at least equivalent, if not even better. With physical disabilities I wouldn't pick a Vibrarise robot, because cleaning the dock might be a pain. Much easier with a revo mopper. You can just take the tray out for cleaning.

Let's make some corner points. \* What moves will eventually break. So you may possibly not want the most tech cramped can-do-it-all robot like Saros 10R, because repair cost would not be cheap. \* Do you need it to climb thresholds >2cm? Then look at Qrevo Curv/Edge and Saros for their AdaptiLift feature. \* Long hair and pets -- A robot with the DuoDivide main brush system is recommended. It's doing a great job with anti tangling hair removal. My best guessed pick would be a Qrevo Edge S5A or Curv S5X, depending on which dock design you prefer. The robots are technically the same. These are light versions of Edge and Curv, don't have the adaptive body lift, don't have camera and voice assist. But you save quite some $$. Qrevo S5V is an economy choice, also having the DuoDivide roller brush. For lower maintenance, go with a revo mopper. Don't get a Vibrarise / sonic mopper.

Qrevo EdgeT with some extra consumables, definitely. Costco made another deal to sell an exclusive model. I guess the EdgeT will not be available at Amazon or Roborock store in the US. But ehm... what's that name? Another naming scheme violation. "Ultra" was always a dock with the washing system for a Vibrarise robot. So "Ultra" contradicts with "Revo". But who cares if it sounds cool and could be sold in huge quantity? I guess Costco customers will love it. Its configuration makes sense, even when you cannot get the high threshold climbing for this price.

Best anti-tangling system on Roborocks is the Duo Divide brush, that is two half brushes with the gap in the center. You find it in any Qrevo Curv, Qrevo Edge and Saros 10 / 10R. If you don't need \- Climbing high thresholds \- Camera+Video \- Voice assistant then you could consider the light variants Qrevo Edge S5A or Qrevo Curv S5X. You may choose Curv or Edge just from the dock design. The robots are quite the same.

Curv, Edge and Saros, all models with AdaptiLift can stretch their legs to go over long pile without getting stuck. But don't expect them do do any good vacuuming while being raised.

Duo Roller is never better than the DuoDivide of Edge. Master has a design problem. The revo mops plus DualRoller make the body so cramped that only a very tiny dustbin remains. And this even has a flawed design and cannot fill properly. But if you don't have a hair or dust problem at all, it still might be the right model for you.

Absolutely worth it! But if you’re on a budget consider the Edge S5A. We have 3 cats and a very sheddy dog. We upgraded from the Q5 Max+ where the rollers constantly needed defuzzing. After 2 months of constant use we haven’t had to touch the roller on the Edge S5A.

Ditched my horrible shark for a Mova P50 Pro Ultra and have been very happy. Roborock Qrevo Edge S5A was my second choice. Both do great with hair and have good suction/anti hair wrap measures. The p50 gets you the ability to automatically leave the mop pads at the dock and has a hair cutting blade in the roller. I know you aren't concerned with mop functions but most good vacs include it now. Mova also has the P10 pro ultra which ditches some features and is super solid. You can also look at Dreame, of which the Mova is a sub brand of. Look for sales. Most mid tier and above vacs will do everything you want, and unless you are nit picking while testing head to head, the average consumer wouldn't be able to tell a difference in performance. I'm not sure how much they are charging up in Canada vs. the USA but I got my P50 Pro Ultra for $799 USD I've seen the Roborock on sale for $899 USD The P10 Pro Ultra was on sale for $499 USD Having had both Shark and Roomba in the past i'd recommended staying away from them. Apps/mapping are garbage. They are buggy, and parts/service can be hard to get.

Hello, so I have been using Roborock for over 7 years now, I had the first initial version, upgraded and the. Upgraded again when my older roborock was still working and was send to my parents. So I have been using Roborock for a while and I have my reasons. I tried Eufy in the middle and shark too. So firstly recommendation wise: 1) Qrevo curve/edge amongst which I would recommend the curve for your needs https://amzn.to/4jBzdGh In general the Qrevo series seems to be pretty good Reasons: - I have used curve and it can go over transition areas quite smoothly which is one of your needs - I have a dog instead of a carpet that shed a lot!!! And curve works pretty well at picking that up even when it's hair comes out as balls - Edge is good too https://amzn.to/4kgzrDQ but may not transition as easily but works well as well (my relatives have it) - overall Qrevo series has been a hit and by every new model they did get in some new features especially anti tangle etc - Roborock spare parts are easy to find hence easier maintenance 2) don't recommend the Saros just yet - it is not seeming to be worth the price as I have heard of many issues navigation wise and even 2 3 cases where the station started heating up. Many returns as well as it wasn't working well in the first go. Heard through 4 people I know and Reddit too has these complaints so do check if you decide on this. https://amzn.to/3F4P8P1 In a nutshell, Roborock curve might work as a good upgrade Reason why I am discounting Ecovac or Eufy - difficult to get spare parts and very bad post services also not keeping up with the tech just yet

Get the Roborock QR 798 or Q10 PF/VF or its + variant if you want an automatic empty station included. I'm in Southeast Asia, too! I have had a Q7 TF (similar to Q10 without a vibrating mop and obstacle avoidance) for three weeks, and I love it. I mainly use it to clean hard floors and low-pile rugs. - Q10 has two versions PF (lifting mop) and VF (vibrating mop similar to S8 Max and Saros 10). The + variants included the auto-empty station. - QR 798 is similar to QRevo S but slightly cheaper at least in my country 🇮🇩 - Xiaomi X20+ quite similar to Dreame L10 series and cheaper than QR 798 and L10 (in 🇮🇩). It already has obstacle avoidance features, but unlike Roborock Q7TF and Q10 PF/VF, it doesn't have an anti-hair tangle feature. - Xiaomi X 20 Max - Dreame L10s Ultra gen 2 All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns.

For crevices, you need a robot with a bristle main brush. Dreame L series and Mova usually use rubber brushes, which, according to reviewers on YT, don't pick up dust in crevices well unlike bristle ones. Some Roborock model like Q5 Pro, Q8 Max, Qrevo S, and QV35A/S also uses a similar brush. I think if you don't mind with prices, E28 or E25 is a good candidate because its roller mop is superior. Roborock also has a new lineup called S5A which is the cheaper version of Qrevo Edge. Now it's $899 on Amazon. S5A uses a similar Duo Divide split brush as in Qrevo Edge and Eufy E28, a self-empty station, and obstacle avoidance but only using structured light without a live camera.

For Roborock, choose their model with a DuoDivide brush for the anti-tangle feature. It comprises several models: - Qrevo S5A/S5V (cheaper) - Qrevo Edge - Qrevo Curv - Saros 10 - Saros 10R (expensive flagship) S5A/S5V only have structured light-based obstacle avoidance sensors. The rest uses a combination of structured light and an AI RGB camera, which should perform better in detecting pet surprises. Only Saros 10 uses a vibrating mop pad while the rest uses a spinning-style mop. The mopping result differs between a vibrating mop and a spinning mop, but it depends on your house environment. People here reported different results between them.

It's both for the vacuum and mop for the edges. I do like how it cleans the corners perfectly. Uses quite a bit force also when extending the mop arm. Make sure you go for the Master and not the lousy "update" they call the Master-upgrade (S5A). It lacks some sensors and is manufactured as cheap as possible. I do think it's worth it for the edge cleaning alone! 200/300 dollars aint that much when you're already spending this much.

I got it in today! I really like the edge-cleaning. The arms extend on the right spots and it really does reach new places my old QRevo couldn't reach. I also like that it's way more silent during cleaning (even max). Smart plan is also useful. You can place stuff like where your animals are in the map (in my case, bird cage) and it mops and cleans that place extra. Overall happy (for now lol, I hope it stays like this).

Mopping isn't too agressive as you can set the amount of water it uses. You can also point your floor direction so it cleans in that direction. No automatisc detergent dispenser tho!

I would only say having the new brush designs (both main and extending) and not having an extra tall tower are positive and the S5A, and obstacle avoidance is not good enough on either to matter.

So far I've had a great time with my unit. My house's all marble floor, and I run the robot on all the rooms besides the bedrooms. Our house is kinda like an expo hall. From the front to the back porch, therets no partitions. We have huge windows we open daily, so the polution is real. I have a Husky and she sheds like crazy, but the vac does an excellent job picking up all her furs. One thing to note, our house's all marble flooring with no carpets, so I can't comment on how well it'll do on carpets. Everyday it'll vac at 22:30 pm and finish at around 12:25 am with about 45% battery remaining. I set it to mop some rooms every Monday, Wednesday, Friday at 5:00 am. Have to clean and refill water every 2 cycles. I don't use any solution, doesn't really work well on the marble floor. Plain old tap water is good enough. My house is a clutter, not with things on the floor, but with decorative furniture. The first week I had the obstacle avoidance on and it skipped quite a lot, so I've had it turned off and now it cleans everything. For furniture I don't want it to bump I set a no-go zone. For the rest, I let it bump and clean everything. I have a smart plug set to manage charging hours, and it's plugged through a voltage stabilizer to reduce battery wear.

The only stepping in is a quick pick up around the house while looking out for accidents, check the water tank levels and refill/empty as needed, and then press the start button. I have the Qrevo Edge S5A. I only use water (no cleaning solution) and my floors are amazingly clean, even right up in the corners and edges. Certainly far better than it is with manual cleaning. When you factor in just how much time you're buying for yourself to get other things done (and maybe even relax), it's so worth the cost of entry. Something that I really like with this robot is it's ability to automatically detect if not doing a thorough enough cleaning on any section, and deciding to come back for another run, and not only that, even deciding whether that second run should be both vacuum and mop or just the second mop run. Sometimes that happens because my kid came in and didn't want my feet , while other times my dog tracked in extra do it, and other times it's because someone made a mess while eating.

So here's how I figured out I could consistently position the chairs around the dining room table in about 4 seconds. What works for my furniture obviously what necessarily work for yours, but one of the problems was the robot getting stuck between the legs of the chairs and the legs of the table, rather than getting stuck between chairs. So by positioning them the way you see in the picture, the gap between the table legs with the chair legs in the way it makes it absolutely impossible attempt to go through where it always used to get stuck. And with that in mind, i've also reduced the number of spots around with the robot has to navigate, and everywhere that there is a gap , there is enough space for the robot to clean between legs. https://preview.redd.it/ledngnedy1ff1.jpeg?width=2160&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a9f08e8c04a6868a61426575a60de5185c472cf0 Hopefully this will inspire you to come up with some arrangement that will work under your own table. I will say that my new Qrevo Edge S5A is far less prone to getting stuck than my old S6.

I came from an S6 and recently got a Qrevo Edge S5A. Quieter, sucks way better, now more removing hair from the brush, high temperature mop cleaning, and both the side brush and mop auto extend to the wall, and it doesn't get stuck in any of the places my old one used to get stuck. My floors have never been this clean. Totally worth the extra above your budget if you can squeeze it. Also worth the little extra over the S5V.

The hot mop washing was one of the things that tipped me towards that model instead of the one you have. It's very effective, and leaves the mop cloths mildly warm when it leaves the dock to hit the next room (on my old S6, I used to hand wash the mop cloth right before running the robot every night, so I didn't want to take the step down). So if you set it to wash the mop after each room, the mop will remain at least mildly warm while cleaning. And now that I've seen the edge cleaning in person, that is an awesome feature that I didn't realize how much I would like that. And the cherry on top of all of it is that the Edge S5A supports Matter after updating the firmware, so now I can integrate my robot vacuum into my Smartthings routines. It basically has all the features of the Qrevo Max except for the camera, with a price point halfway between the S5V and the Max.

Get a roborock with adaptlift feature. They can raise their whole body a bit so that they don’t get stuck in high pile carpet. No need to go Saros line. Getting an edge or Curv (watch out, not the S5A or S5X models, they are trimmed down version and have no adaptlift among other things missing) gives you pretty much flagship level for a bit cheaper

Best vacuum in terms of what? Without camera, obstacles avoidance is garbage, except the S8 line, excluding the maxv. If you don’t care about avoidance then the pro is quite basic, you can get the Edge S5A or Curv S5X

How tall are the thresholds? Most can handle 2cm with no issue but only the x40 ultra (24mm) and the QRevo Curv/Edge (30mm for a single threshold, 40mm for two consecutive thresholds that are 30mm +10mm) handle higher. Otherwise, you’d have to use a ramp

Generally: Dreame will have the best edge cleaning. This is on the x30 ultra and newer with the L/X40 ultra and newer models having an extendable side brush with the best extension algorithm right now. Mop extension lacks a spring which means it can ride up on quarter round floor moldings if your home has any. Roborock Saros 10R and the QRevo Edge/Curv are nice choices if there are no cables or pet accidents for it to eat. Narwal is a very solid option. The Freo Z ultra has the best smart cleaning mode. It’s okay taking care of things like hair and visible dust but still isn’t as good as vacuuming as it is at mopping. Eufy s1 pro is a very solid mopping option. Won’t edge clean as well as the above models but mops pretty well.

Any dreame model with a self cleaning mop tray? This would be the Dreame X/L30-40. It’s worked well at cleaning my corgi’s fur balls to the drainage area. The mop extend has worked well mopping his drool from the edges of the rooms where he likes to sleep. You can add any TriCut brush and the cover that prevents hair from going to the side to any Dreame model. It’s worked great at preventing tangles. Roborock Q Revo models are also worth looking at. Only the one with the DuoDivine brush is truly no tangle. The other brushes will have the hair and fur tangled on the sides. I recommend rotating mop models as they are better at cleaning off drool. These two brands are pretty good at obstacle avoidance and cleaning overall. There are roller mop models but Eufy’s ozone generator poses a long term risk in terms of reliability as someone reported ozone generators could degrade the rubber seals. Eureka J20 (Midea’s W20) doesn’t seem to be great at obstacle avoidance either.

Bald dogs 😂 You asked this at just the right time when anti-tangling tech has essentially matured in robot vacuums. Dreame (DuoStream or TriCut brush), Narwal (conical brush), and roborock (DuoDivide) offer great antitangling solutions for their main and side brush. It’s become cheaper too as this feature has matured.

How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.

Most high end robot vacuums have learned to avoid this area with some models marking it as “furniture likely to get stuck on”. If the chairs’ horizontal legs are shorter than 3cm, both the roborock models with Adaptlift and the Dreame X50 Ultra/MOVA V50 Ultra will lift themselves to get over it. If higher than 3cm, only the dreame X50 Ultra and the MOVA V50 Ultra can cross it.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

You’d definitely want your robot to clean frequently. I run mine twice a day. Dreame L40S Pro Ultra is 1799 at JB HIFI and will clean just as well if there are no thresholds up to 2.4cm. QRevo edge will be better for higher thresholds up to 3cm. However, the MOVA z50 ultra will mop much better than both models.

I’d go with the edge. It has a larger dustbin at 325mL which is better suited for fur and the Saros 10r’s dustbin is at 270mL. Unless you need the Saros’ short height of 7.98cm, I’d go with the edge too. The Saros 10R mops are compatible with the edge’s mop pad holder so you can switch them around and see if they make a difference.

Bigger dustbin + good use of dustbin when it comes to fur (no empty space should be in the dustbin when fur clogs it) + frequent autoemptying = better for dealing with hair and fur. For a vacuum only model, the roborock Q5 Max+ and the Q8 Max+ have a sizeable dustbin and uses the dustbin space well and has an autoempty station. The dual rollers help with fur pickup. In the US Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra fulfills these requirements as a combo model. So does the MOVA V50 Ultra for Canadian customers. The QRevo series has the same issue with some dreame models where the dustbin will be clogged with fur but there’ll be a lot of empty space on the sides. It’ll be good for picking up fur on carpets with its dual brushes but I think the eufy X8 should be better for dealing with finer dust.

For vacuuming only: Roborock Q8 Max+ or the Q5 Max+ For combos: Tricut brush (works great with a long-haired corgi and long-haired people in my home) compatible: most dreame models in the 10 series and newer Roborock's QRevo Curv and Edge can also be considered if dog "gifts" aren't a concern since they do well with dog fur. The upcoming Roborock Saros 10R can be considered if you'd like it to remove its mops when vacuuming the carpet. If dog "gifts" are a concern: MOVA's P10 Pro Ultra is currently the best bang-for-buck combo model at 659 USD. If you want a mop removal feature (I've seen many complaints about the feature not working as intended on the L40 Ultra), there are Dreame L40 Ultra, X40 Ultra, and X50 Ultra.

At the moment it does everything I want from it, only thing I'd like is a bit better obstacle avoidance, specifically not climbing on furniture.

I just got the edge and I love it (coming from an S6 MaxV), but obstacle avoidance, and specifically the cords that you’ve mentioned, tend to really be the weak spot of this model, at least when mopping. I found that the cords will tangle around the rotating mop brushes and eventually cause them to fall off.

I bought it recently as well and agree on many of those points: -it’s not vacuuming crumbs very well on hardwood floors. Definitely doesn’t pick up pine needles from a Christmas tree -when i do vacuum + mop, it would just mop over the crumbs -it did make little piles of hair all over the place on the carpet which i just ran around picking up afterwards. -the app was awful when it first started making the maps. Sometimes the maps would just go missing and I’d have to map again. So far so good though, they haven’t disappeared in a few days Positive note: when i reached out about returning it the customer service was fast and they sent me all the details without a fuss. I just (yesterday) brought home the Qrevo Edge. So far I absolutely love it. I was coming from a very old S5 so the jump was huge. I put in the extra for the edge purely because I have a 3.5cm threshold that effectively splits my house in half and putting a ramp there is really ugly because it’s right in the main hallway (ie wife disapproval). The edgeC (or whatever you call it in the US) seemed near identical except for less intelligent AI and the lack of adaptlift chassis.

I've owned both (Edge not curv but they're identical besides the base). My Qrevo Edge stopped working after a month so I just returned it instead of getting it replaced under warranty and waited for the Saros 10R instead. I've had the Saros 10r for a couple days now and ran it multiple times so there may be some things i'm not aware of yet but the main things i've noticed so far is that the Qrevo had bigger tanks so you don't need to fill the tank / clean out the dirty tank as often. Qrevo obviously has a bigger base footprint as a tradeoff. The Saros mapping was better/more accurate than the Qrevo and was able to accurately depict problem areas / pets. It automatically was able to map out my shoe rack, bed, couches on the map as well as all the rooms and carpets very accurately. The Qrevo wasn't bad by any means but the Saros has definitely been slightly better. I have a little 2 inch step up going from my kitchen to living room and both had no issues dealing with it. Both the mopping and vacuuming are of similar quality from the few runs i've done but i've also not had any extreme messes either. In terms of object avoidance, my Qrevo Edge was not able to avoid some cables or other things like small pet toys my puppy would bring out at times. Once it even ran over a little log (of shit) my puppy left out for it which caused me to have to open it up and clean it out. I haven't had this issue yet with my Saros in terms of pets. Fortunately my puppy is slightly older now so it's not shitting in the house so I can't say for certain the Saros would avoid it. I primarily used the Smartplan feature for both and both are good enough to handle my 2 dogs hair with no issues. I think the Saros 10r is a very slight upgrade over the Qrevo Edge/Curv but I don't think it warrants "upgrading" if you already have a Qrevo. It's definitely less of an upgrade if you have massive areas to clean as you'll need to swap out the water tanks far more often but that's also just an expected tradeoff. I do personally think if you're in a return window it's worthwhile to do so but realistically it's a very minor difference.

I have 5 dogs and run a doggy daycare and boarding business out of my home. I've had a few different brands of robot vacuums and vacmops, which have all died just after their 1yr warranties. Did a ton of research and decided to make a huge investment in the new, $1600 Qrevo Edge. I've had it about a month so far (halfway through my 60 day trial period), so here are some thoughts from a superuser: PROS: - I love how it looks (simple but true) - It empties and refills itself, which is amazing - Also love that it cleans itself - It's not as loud as some of the others I've had - it's pretty easy to clean CONS: - It doesn't clean the floors nearly as well as a $1600 mop should... - Supposedly it also cleans the carpets? I have that function on, but it doesn't seem to be doing anything - the app is not user friendly at all - it's supposed to let me see my dogs...how? Where?? Don't see this functionality - this thing has gotten stuck just about every time I've run it, something my much cheaper versions didn't do - it's also the only robovac I've ever had that ran over dog poop... 1mo review summary: this thing is nowhere near worth the price, and if I end up returning it within the next 30 days, I won't be going with roborock at all again

Basically, if you want the best vacuum and obstacle avoidance, you will want one of the top bots! Currently the top dogs are the Saros 10 / Saros 10R and last years models the S8 MaxV Ultra and the Qrevo Egde / Curve. We mop A L O T and like, besides emptying the dirty water tank daily / every second day and refilling daily / every second day, i only have to do "deep maintenance" which involves washing the water filter (its hard plastic so no drying time) and washing underneat it and the smaller mop with a damp cloth, and thats for someone who does the deep+ program once a week. If you just do regular vac & mop, depending on how big of a house you have, and the program you use, you wont need to refill the water tank more than like every 3 days realistically, and it only takes like 30 seconds to do so! Feel free to DM me if you have more questions or just ask them here :)

For example dreame x40 ultra is now discounted in my country, but after reading dozen of posts of people who have problems with this brand, I decided not to buy it. I've ordered the qrevo edge. Was holding out for the curv but given it's virtually the same with just a different looking dock decided to pull the trigger on the edge with the free H5 as part of the launch offer. The CES robots won't get in Australia till late this year I believe, given how long it took to get the edge/curv. I hear dreame support isn't very good. Other than that dreame maybe a good option - keep in mind the x40 ultra doesn't spin the side brush on carpet which makes it a no go if you have edge to edge carpets. I'm coming from a roborock s7+ and my experience with roborock has been great. Wanted that newest with spinning mops, fully automated dock and threshold climbing and so decided on edge! You may not need the threshold climbing or may not have edge to edge carpets and perhaps you want better obstacle avoidance - then go for dreame x40.

I am living the same nightmare! And each time I start tending towards a vacuum not from roborock, I remember this is nearly impossible to find any spare parts for non roborock models. With roborock vacuums it is not that easy either but I recently found (easily) an original replacement fan for my roborock S7. Unfortunately I broke something else just before finishing my repair, hence the research... I am currently considering the Qrevo Edge the most because it seems to be good enough at obstacle avoidance and obviously way better then my S7 in that regards considering it has no obstacle avoidance whatsoever. But it seems that I might have a better quality/price ratio with models from other brands (with poorer spare parts availability). Does anybody have any input on spare parts availability for all those brands? (I am based in the EU) If my S7 needed a fan replacement after 4 years, I would be reassured knowing a 800-1000 vacuum could be repairable 4 or 5 years from now.

The only difference was the rug in our bedroom. I setup a testing area to highlight the performance of the 10R over the Edge with object detection on rugs. I believe so, the unit definitely needs better firmware. Currently I’m using the stock firmware with “Less Collision” set to None. I also discovered I need to tell the unit to “ignore” items within the map, something I’ve never had to do before with the Qrevo Edge. This makes me believe the Saros 10R has some amazing obstacle detection via hardware, just poor software behind it. I’m hopeful Roborock will apply better updates soon.

Thank you for this wonderful review. I returned my US$1,599.99 2024 Roborock Qrevo Edge because its obstacle avoidance was bad, getting caught on wires and cat toys that my much older iRobot Roomba and Neato Botvac robot vacuums avoided easily. I was planning to get the Roborock Saros 10R because I figured the Starsight was the next big tech upgrade from Roborock, but I'm reading too many reports that it isn't quite there yet.

The Edge will perform the same as the Master as it relates to object avoidance. The Slim is only slightly better. My guess is you will find it to be sufficient for your expectations. Come back and let us know what you think!

The Curv and the Edge are almost identical. It is a good thing you did not choose to go the same route a second time! What did you not like about the Edge? My guess is vacuuming ability. If this is the case, you will love the S8!!! Any S8 model is a vacuuming beast!!! There is a bit of a cost for excellent vacuuming ability. It will require about two minutes of your time once per week. You will have to remove the rollers, pull off their ends, and remove the wound up hair that collects around them. These two minutes of effort will provide you much better vacuuming capability than any model by any manufacturer with auto detangling rollers. Here is another free tip. Order at least one spare air filter today! When you maintain your rollers, remove the dirty air filter from your dustbin. Rinse it thoroughly under hot water from both sides. A small nylon brush can help dig out the gunk and fuzz from the filter during rinsing. Be gentle! Set the wet air filter aside to dry for at least 48 hours. Put a clean, thoroughly dry air filter back into your dustbin and you are all set. The next time you swap them back. One should do this with any robovac from any manufacturer!!! I hope this helps!

How does this compare to qrevo curve? Thats what I just got causeni didnt wanna wait the one week for the 10r. Also cause the buckets were small and we live in a big open house. Did I make right choice or should I return and rebuy 10r? Lol

Yeah I have the edge, not curve. I misspoke I itislly lol. Brand new ti me and knew I was looking at curve edge and saros. But I have edge too. And I do have a big space its running in so the tank size is important for me. Guess I’ll hold onto it for now!

The "duo divide" or something like that. Some of the 2024 models had that brush design too. Other ones that are good with hair are the narwal and the new eufys (e25/e28) have the same brush design.watch vacuum wars or the hookup they test handling of hair. That said I have an older roborock s6max and 2 golden retrievers. It picks up the hair pretty well I just have to clean hair off fairly regularly. And if it's been more than a day, I have to empty the bin multiple times per cleaning. I want to upgrade to a eufy e25 depending on the reviews.

Roborock Qrevo Curv/Edge both have adaptilift that raises the entire robot 10mm in addition to the brush/arm/mop 10mm raise. I have one and it can cross mats and pads without getting hung up.

Works fine for me. 😁 I have a raised carpet at the front door threshold for my elderly parents walkers and it climbs onto and off it just fine plus picks up whatever gets tracked onto it without issue. I was sceptical at first but it works so I'm happy. My master would get hung up there and my X10 would hit it's bumper on it and couldn't clean it.

Check out the youtube channel Vacuum Wars, he does a ton of comparisons and yearly roundups. I have one of the more recent Roborock ones where the roller on the bottom is split in the middle, and hair rolls inward (they call it DuoDivide). I have found it to do a good job of not tangling due to the way it's designed and it has worked great for me, though the thing definitely wasn't cheap. That being said, I wouldn't call almost any electronic device BIFL, especially ones with a lot of moving parts.

Duo divide is incredible, more than a month of use without a single hair on the brushes. 2 cats and a long hair woman in the house.

While I’m little shocked about the price (looks like that would’ve totally been enough for me vs. my Qrevo Curv) it looks to me like it’s “at least” missing the flexiarm side brush which does make quiet a difference (I needed to manually sweep around all edges with my S7 while this extending side arm really helps to clean the corners). I doubt that’s worth the ~400€ I payed extra for the Curv though.. DuoDivide is really as great as everyone already stated here so I’d definitely get one that has that, maybe wait a few days for this model if you can live without the extending arm (the mop still does extend).

Also owning an OG QRevo. The mop cleaning is noisy enough through doors and we have a decent difference in floor height between rooms that always takes it a few attempts to lift itself over. Not mentioning emptying the bin at the end of a cycle. It’s a decent machine. Will continue to use it till it breaks down permanently (wasn’t an inexpensive purchase for us).

Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back. The S8 also has a pad attached to the back, but includes a scrubbing motion via a plate that vibrates at a high speed. It's better than the Q5 and Q8. The best mopping will be on the Qrevo and Eufy X10. They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock. Of the last two, each has its strengths and weaknesses. The X10 will be better at obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo is a Roborock, which has a better reputation for quality and reliability than the Eufy, and is also rated a little better than the Eufy at a lot of things: vacuuming performance, mopping performance, etc. It also can swing out one of its mop pads for better edge and corner cleaning, something the Eufy can't do. In some cases, obstacle avoidance is really critical, in which case I'd recommend the Eufy. Otherwise, the Qrevo is likely your best bet.

So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.

I was in the same boat, but with Black Friday sales both the roborock qrevo (refurbished)and dreame l10s ultra (new) are available for $359. For that price it’s hard to justify spending 2-3x as much for a few extra features which don’t seem to make a huge difference in the actual functionality of the product. I bought a l10s ultra and hope to not think about it again for at least a couple years.

Any guesses on MSRP for the Z1? I have 2 acres and probably 1.4 acres of it to mow. I have a 60" commerical Exmark mower but I'm getting more sick of mowing by the year and yard companies want $200/week to do it, so that is a hard pass. I already have two Roborock vacs (S7 Max Ultra and Q-Revo) and have been fairly happy with them, so this would be a nice addition if the price isn't like Yarbo's pricing structure.

+1 for Roborock, the q revo series with the spinning mops and auto docks have been amazing for me. There have a few different models so I'd compare them all but we have the slim and the master and love them both. They often go on sale - I got each of them for 1k or less. I had the s7+ and the mopping was disappointing. I'd avoid any simple dragging mops.

I have a roborock revo with a dock.  The thing I don't like it that there is no setting for "go empty in the dock after x minutes" like there is for the mop. So to deal with this, I created a routine for each room individually.  It then empty after each rooms. Do that once a day, and no clogs.

I absolutely love my Q Revo. I bought it with intentions of it being supported by Valetudo, but honestly… the app works, the HA integration works. I have a geofence that runs the full vac/mop when I leave in AM thru HA. I trigger a night mop of kitchen at 1am via HA. I have automations that notify on the TV when the buckets need to be filled/dumped. I’m planning to 3D print replacement buckets with auto fill and dump — this is my only issue… needs that water and dumping based on size of house and how often you run the mop.

So I bought a q revo and dreame l10s and compared them directly and ended up keeping the l10s because it seems to do a better job of mopping (and is willing to mop in skinnier areas of my hard floor around rugs). I don't mind the worse app with dreame, it's completely usable and reliable, just with weird translations. I genuinely like the roborock carpets first feature but I don't miss it with scheduling. If you can afford the l40 ultra, that's what I would buy for the best features (hot water mop washing, self cleaning washboard, water turbidity sensor, mop extend & lifting brush, hair cutting roller). How much more expensive are the premier q revo models in your area (the master, slim, edge, curv)? If theyre the same price (or you can afford the slight increase) I'd get those for the best of both worlds: premier features and the superior roborock app.

You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol

The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
