I just got the Roborock Qrevo Edge and it’s been doing great so far. I got 3 dogs (husky, aussie, min pin) and a cat. It’s picking everything up and moping pretty well. The only con so far is the price tag. It’s a little on the expensive side but I read the brand is really reliable.
RobotVacuums • What’s the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet ... ->Roborock Qrevo Curv/Edge both have adaptilift that raises the entire robot 10mm in addition to the brush/arm/mop 10mm raise. I have one and it can cross mats and pads without getting hung up.
RobotVacuums • Will any robot vac be able to cope wi... ->Works fine for me. 😁 I have a raised carpet at the front door threshold for my elderly parents walkers and it climbs onto and off it just fine plus picks up whatever gets tracked onto it without issue. I was sceptical at first but it works so I'm happy. My master would get hung up there and my X10 would hit it's bumper on it and couldn't clean it.
RobotVacuums • Will any robot vac be able to cope wi... ->This is cool, but I'm not sure how useful it is. Maybe instead of simply positive or negative, it could drill down into more specific, e.g. "Good for pets?", "Good for carpets", "Easy to maintain", "Easy to use app" etc. For example, the obstacle avoidance in the Q Revo which has the highest rating here is pretty terrible. It will easily drive through pet waste spreading it all over your home and basically destroying the robot. I have two Q Revos, but no pets :)
CleaningTips • I analyzed the 25 most recommended ro... ->I love the vacuum, but getting it to integrate with HA is a pain. I wish it was just plug and play.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->I got it set up once, but the only options were basically to start (clean the whole house) or to stop. No ability to clean just a room, or to change the cleaning type. I just went to uninstall and reinstall, and now I can't even get it set up. When I try, I get a message "No device found within your Roborock account".
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->I bought the Q Revo two months ago and kept it for a month. When the Pro version came out, I returned the Revo and purchased the Pro. It's a fantastic vacuum (I upgraded from the S7; I've also owned a Roomba). For me, the Pro was worth the extra cost because of the flexible mop. The regular Q Revo can't get within a few inches of the edge of a wall, and for me, that was important. No other noticeable differences between the two models for me besides the flexi mop. I know the pro has more suction, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me because my house is 90% hardwood.
Roborock • Any reviews on the Q Revo Pro? ->I disagree. Got a roborock q revo with vac and mop, also with a station that washes and dries the mops and it is very good and helpful.
RobotVacuums • Wirecutter says don't get a robot vac... ->The Revo for me too! Using the HACKS roborock integration that works with Xiaomi!
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->This community: Wait, the next model will solve all problems. For what it's worth, we have dogs and I bought a Q Revo last week. Works great. Not 400 m\^2, but 300 m\^2 anyway.
Roborock • Best Robot Vacuum + Mop for Pet Hair? ->App calls it just Q Revo so I assume normal?
Roborock • Best Robot Vacuum + Mop for Pet Hair? ->As a qrevo owner, I'd get that if you aren't willing or able to find a spot for the auto drain then I'd either reduce the amount of cleaning (or do it when you're not at home). That said spinning heads are very good at mopping and I make sure not to put stuff around since it will get stuck at a left over cable.
Roborock • Is Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra worth the $$$? ->I have a Roborock Q Revo in our 2 adult household and love it. I sweep out the corners occasionally since a round vacuum obviously can’t get into a 90 degree corner, but I don’t have to vacuum or mop anymore unless I just want to. My MIL also bought the same model, and they have three dogs in their home. One of whole sheds A LOT. He’s a corgi/lab mix and blows coat like a dandelion. It keeps up with all their hair, just needs more frequent dust bag replacements. It is so worth buying the right kind and getting a quality robot vacuum/mop. The cheap ones simply aren’t worth it. My father has a roomba (to excuse himself from ever actually cleaning) and it is awful. It will run over the same piece of hair multiple times without picking it up and then straight up avoid a certain dirty spot on the floor repeatedly. It runs on a random track of going until it bumps into something and then goes a different direction. He has also had problems with the batteries crapping out constantly and needing replaced because the capacity deteriorates so badly. The Roborock goes in a pattern; first does a perimeter sweep then goes in a grid pattern of vertical then horizontal rows. The Roborock takes floor plans of your house so you can select individual rooms for cleaning. There is a spot cleaning feature as well where you can drop a box to enclose a specific area that needs cleaned. You can set up scheduled for it to keep your house maintained and ignore it beyond weekly maintenance. I dump dirty water, fill the clean water, and wash mop heads once a week. I love it and would never buy anything else. Especially a Roomba.
Apartmentliving • What are the best robot vacuums yo... ->I have the QRevo Curv and so far I love it. I have 4 cats, 3 of which are long hair. I’ve not had a single hair tangle since I purchased it. My older vacuums the S6 Max V Ultra was constantly wrapped up in hair.
RobotVacuums • The best robot vacuum for a couple wi... ->Roborock Qrevo is expensive but works very well. We have two long-haired dogs who can shed a third dog before noon. The Qrevo sweeps and mops. We usually run it in the morning and again in the evening.
Appliances • What do you think are the best robot va... ->Update: the qrevo edge does clean and traverse the mats just fine.
RobotVacuums • Best Robot to Vac/Mop tile.floor with... ->I've ordered the qrevo edge. Was holding out for the curv but given it's virtually the same with just a different looking dock decided to pull the trigger on the edge with the free H5 as part of the launch offer. The CES robots won't get in Australia till late this year I believe, given how long it took to get the edge/curv. I hear dreame support isn't very good. Other than that dreame maybe a good option - keep in mind the x40 ultra doesn't spin the side brush on carpet which makes it a no go if you have edge to edge carpets. I'm coming from a roborock s7+ and my experience with roborock has been great. Wanted that newest with spinning mops, fully automated dock and threshold climbing and so decided on edge! You may not need the threshold climbing or may not have edge to edge carpets and perhaps you want better obstacle avoidance - then go for dreame x40.
RobotVacuums • Best high end robot vacuum to buy RN ->Qrevo edge is my pick. It’s technically a few months old but only came out in Aus last week. So even if there are new models coming we probably won’t get them for another year. Roborocks software is a step above the other brands
RobotVacuums • Best high end robot vacuum to buy RN ->I had one of the higher end Sharks, can't remember the model, and I thought I liked it. It touted laser mapping, advanced schedules, etc. But then I got the Roborock Q Revo and it absolutely blew me away; made me realize how shitty the Shark was. At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->Agreed, it's awesome! Mopping great if you have any wood. Only downside to the more expensive ones is the lack of camera to detect cords, which isn't a huge deal.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->Same, and it has been worth every penny for us!
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->Got the same one, for 400€ it's great! Navigation is awesome but it indeed just won't detect cables… The ones that can automatically search for your pet and allow you to see it while further controlling the robot remotely are pretty cool, but it's not really a big deal to not have that feature.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->I have a Roborock Q revo and I'm loving it :)
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->I also purchased one of these and have been happy with it. Does a great job. I recommend watching vacuum wars on YouTube. He purchases every single robot vacuum and tests them all.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop... ->Two long hair cats checking in with the Curv- no tangles and a spotless floor!
RobotVacuums • The best robot vacuum for a couple wi... ->I'm using Roborock Qrevo right now. The price is budget-friendly, and the integration is native (support local based on the document).
homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Ro... ->If I were buying today, I would focus on one that fills/dumps the water automatically. I have the Roborock Q Revo and it is solid… I just have to dump/fill the tanks after about three mops. I’ve got all the parts in my Amazon cart to automate this. My hesitancy has been about how much automation/metering do I want and how much safety net do I want!!
homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Ro... ->Just bought a Qrevo Curv yesterday. Super excited for it. I’ve never had a good bot, just a 10 year old Roomba that wanders around aimlessly with zero navigation.
RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum is everybody lookin... ->Nice! Mine arrives tomorrow! I can’t wait.
RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum is everybody lookin... ->The Q Revo has been perfection for us
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Probably close to a year. Filtered tap water
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Same. I got it a few months ago and my floors are fucking awesome now.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Not so plug and play then
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Just an observation, doesn't mean it's not easy or doable. Just means it's not plug & play in terms of what that actually means. Plug & play means in this case that you add the vacuum to HA and it immediately fetches all available information including created routines. All you then need to do is to show that information on a card for example. Just pointing out what the term means. Looks like it requires a bit of effort to get going, which doesn't mean it's going to be hard, but it means it's not p&p. Apologies for the seemingly snarky remark.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Saw a few posts from people cursing how difficult it was to include routines, and how much yaml was necessary to make it all work. I'm talking mopping intensity, vacuum power, what rooms to do in which order and so on. I just gave up mentally before I looked into it more. You're saying it's easy, should I look again?
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->How tall are the thresholds? Most can handle 2cm with no issue but only the x40 ultra (24mm) and the QRevo Curv/Edge (30mm for a single threshold, 40mm for two consecutive thresholds that are 30mm +10mm) handle higher. Otherwise, you’d have to use a ramp
RobotVacuums • Best mop vacuum in the market for har... ->Generally: Dreame will have the best edge cleaning. This is on the x30 ultra and newer with the L/X40 ultra and newer models having an extendable side brush with the best extension algorithm right now. Mop extension lacks a spring which means it can ride up on quarter round floor moldings if your home has any. Roborock Saros 10R and the QRevo Edge/Curv are nice choices if there are no cables or pet accidents for it to eat. Narwal is a very solid option. The Freo Z ultra has the best smart cleaning mode. It’s okay taking care of things like hair and visible dust but still isn’t as good as vacuuming as it is at mopping. Eufy s1 pro is a very solid mopping option. Won’t edge clean as well as the above models but mops pretty well.
RobotVacuums • Best mop vacuum in the market for har... ->I see, too much water just spreading the dirt around! Maybe a design flaw for the Curv
RobotVacuums • I Was Wrong About Robot Vacuum Mops a... ->The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
RobotVacuums • I'm searching for my first robot vacu... ->I know the Roborock Qrevo Curv and Edge do. There may be others.
RobotVacuums • What’s Your Top Priority When Choosin... ->Qrevo and qrevo pro are awesome!
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->We have the Roborock Q Revo and it's a workhorse.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Roborock Q Revo is IMO the best price/performance ratio while shipping with most flagship features, esp. the self-emptying station that also cleans and dries the mops.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->I have a Q Revo that I'm not the happiest with (not great suction, mopping is decent, and obstacle avoidance is terrible) and like you, I was planning on replacing it with an S8... until I saw the Kickstarter for the S1 Pro and instantly backed it. Seems to address all of my complaints and can't beat the price ($899!). I plan on doing a review when I get it next month.
Roborock • Thoughts on Eufy S1 Pro ->I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. Another thing is, with the eufy if you spill something, or just want to do a cleaning after cooking something, it's super simple and quick to just walk over to the base, press the play button and have it do a quick run. With my Q Revo I have to go find my phone, open the app, select a mode, and then click start. It's more involved and requires enough steps that I often forget to do it until later on. What I think the eufy needs that would help a lot with really stuck on stains though, is a deep mopping mode where it increases water usage. I suspect that will likely get added with a future update. Regarding the non-lifting vacuum roller, from all of the reviews I've seen it doesn't really get dirty unless it goes over a wet mess that has chunks in it like tomato sauce. But even then, from the reviews where I've seen it pickup freshly spilled milk, peanut butter, etc., the only thing that left (a minor amount of) residue on the vacuum roller was the tomato sauce chunks. Jamie Andrews review will be out in a few days and I'm hoping he tested this more.
Roborock • Thoughts on Eufy S1 Pro ->Jamie Andrews replied to someone else in this thread saying that his review will be out in the coming days, so we have that to look forward to. I commented above with a counterpoint as to why really stuck on stains aren't super realistic though. I'll repost that here in case you didn't see it: >I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. Another thing is, with the eufy if you spill something, or just want to do a cleaning after cooking something, it's super simple and quick to just walk over to the base, press the play button and have it do a quick run. I suspect that will likely get added with a future update. Another good thing with the eufy and its roller mop, is that it also cleans much, much faster than other robovacs since it doesn't have to ever go back and wash the mops. I've seen a few reviewers mention it doing a full clean almost 2x faster than other botvacs. This stood out to me because sometimes I'll put off running my Q Revo solely because I know it can take a while and is loud, which is annoying to hear going for a long time while I'm in the room... and then I forget to run a cleaning session after. 🤦🏽♂️
Roborock • Thoughts on Eufy S1 Pro ->Haha well that's more of a me problem because of my ADHD/ADD. If I don't immediately go get my phone when a spill happens, open the app, switch modes to only do "Kitchen", and start a cleaning, I'll completely forget about it until hours later. Even worse, sometimes I WILL go get my phone, but then get distracted by a notification or text, reply to it, and then lock my phone... without starting the cleaning! 😂 With the S1 Pro's base being at arm level and right between my kitchen/living room, I'd pass it when leaving the kitchen and could easily tap the play button to have it clean everywhere since it has great obstacle avoidance. It seems minor, but the simplicity of that one step process with a physical button and no distractions is perfect for someone like me. With the Q Revo's terrible terrible obstacle avoidance, I can't just open the app and click the big start button without first pre-cleaning and removing any cables from the ground so it doesn't get caught on them (it broke a lamp by doing this before). It's overall a more involved process that I often will put off until later... and forget about lol.
Roborock • Thoughts on Eufy S1 Pro ->I agree, I have no idea why they’re using such an inferior system on their most expensive bot. Seems a bit lazy of them to not try and innovate like Eufy did. That was me in the Discord, by the way. :) My Q Revo was visibly making my white tile floors looks dingy and dull even with daily 2x mopping using their detergent with max water usage and frequent mop washing. For the past 3 weeks the S1 water has been very dark, but now it’s finally starting to lighten up and the floors look brighter than they ever have before. I truly have never been so impressed.
