"The Qrevo Master keeps the S8 vacuuming module and adds the spinning mops with auto mop cleaning and drying in the dock. This is ideal in my opinion. ... The S8 line has significantly better vacuuming performance than any of the Saros models... They vacuum much, much better! ... "My personal choice is the Qrevo Master. Our Saros 10R was a very fancy, very expensive mistake. A Qrevo Master, which costs almost half as much as the Saros 10R would have served my needs much better!"

This is an excellent compromise in my opinion, and it saves a lot of money. ... The Qrevo Master would have served my needs much better than the Saros 10R does now. I regret my choice."

"For about $800 you get all the benefits of the $1500 models that actually contribute to a cleaner house with only two very small drawbacks. You save $700 and end up with much cleaner floors. ... I think the Roborock Qrevo Master is just about perfect for good house cleaning without all the fancy unnecessary stuff that costs a lot of money and doesn't help much. ... I recently purchased a QRevo Master and Pro during Black Friday. I replaced a Roomba J7+. I’m fairly happy with the mopping functionality but the obstacle avoidance is…a fraction as good. I assumed with all the tech and AI it would be better or at most marginally worse. But it’s really night and day. The J7 was excellent at avoiding even the smallest out of place objects, a sock, a cord, etc. I know commenters will say to just keep things off the floor. But I bought these things to vacuum when I’m out of the house. The was great with the j7. Everything just feels clean when you get back. These Roborocks on the other hand will just pick up any loose object and drag it around for 30 minutes. A sock, a shirt, a small box. Also if you happen to be walking around while it’s running the vacuums will bump into your feet repeatedly. I’ve seen some discussion of this, but reviewers like vacuum wars still give these a 4.7 for obstacle avoidance. I would say it’s like a 3 at best. I’ve also seen some discussion of it being better on previous firmware versions. I’m curious if that’s true. I’m hoping I can be optimistic a software update could improve this. It seems like the hardware should be more than capable, but it’s just not stacking up right now

I recently got the QRevo Master but only because I got it from Costco so could return it if it did a crap job. So far its doing pretty well. Mopping probably better than I thought it would be (although it's our first vac / mop combo). Carpets don't seem any cleaner than with our other robot vacuum but it was old and confused so its actually doing its job unlike our old one.

I’ve picked one of these up to replace an s6 max and while it does a lot of things well, the AI seems like a downgrade. Gets stuck on wires and seems to have worse obstacle detection which is very disappointing. Equally Amazon messed up the delivery and I ended up with two for the price of one so I can’t grumble too badly

I’ve just got the qrevo master and it has issues with shag pile like this , I think the ai believe it’s an object to avoid so it spins, Ive turned the camera on and it sees long strands so I’m assuming it thinks it’s an obstacle, with avoidance off it actually works , but it still struggles and you can see it get stuck a lot and tug itself free, The side brush gets stuck sometimes too, honestly I love my big fluffy rugs but if I want a robot I’m going to have to replace with shorter piled ones.

I have had mine for a month, still can’t get in on the network. Tried everything - Making sure its 2,4ghz - Only use alphanumerical in both wifi-name and password - Using airplane mode when going through the connection wizard - Tried using bot iOS and android devices - Tried using the Xiaomi app - Changed DNS to 8.8.8.8 - Changed the router IP - Making sure ACL is turned off Have a 2 week long thread with their support, waiting for feedback on my logs. Anyone got an idea to test since it seems to work so good for everyone else? 😅

The q revo master has been doing pretty well at avoiding cables. Sometimes the mop gets stuck and the mount comes off but a lot less than my s7. Vacuum wars on YouTube also rated it the highest for avoidance with AI and its cameras

Eufy S1 Pro and Roborock Qrevo Master. Eufy uses a roller mop and can clean and mop the floor at the same time (ensuring the mop stays clean while cleaning). Roborock uses a spinning mop but is also excellent at removing stains. I remember Vacuum Wars had a ranking list evaluating both of them, with Eufy and Roborock being in the first and second positions. They have updates on their YouTube if you want to see more visual results.

I live with 3 girls with long hair, 3 cats and a Bernese mountain dog so I can relate with this 100%. I have to maintain the robot regularly, releasing hairs from the main roller and extending brush weekly. The time I spend maintaining it is a lot less than what I’d spend vacuuming and cleaning so it’s no big deal. 5 minutes a week is nothing. I do wish the small wheel was removable so I could clean it and free it of hair instead of cutting in and around it but beyond that it’s all good (QRevo master)

Agreed. Qrevo Master's obstacle avoidance is absolute trash. It may as well not exist at all. I had Narwal Freo Z Ultra before this and I kind of regret returning that and getting this. The only thing I hated about the Narwal was not having an onboard water tank and not having extending floor sweeping arm, but obstacle avoidance on it was top notch. Never got stuck on anything. Qrevo is so dumb in comparison. Even if it detects something, it will still push it around because it has no clue where the obstacle exactly is. Having to get all the cords, objects off the ground is no different to what I was doing when I was using 1st gen xiaomi robot vac. I ran the vacuum this morning after I left and made sure to clean up everything from the floor but somehow this damn thing got something stuck in its main brush. Seriously frustrated with this product.

Agreed. I’ve not been impressed with the obstacle avoidance on small items/objects. But I have nothing to compare it to. My previous vacuum was a roomba that didn’t even have wifi. It’s weird though. I watched my QRevo Master correctly identify a baby bib on the floor as an obstacle. It marked it on the map and went around it. I was impressed. But then on another pass it turned toward the bib while it was already close to it and I guess it was too low for the camera to see so it removed the obstacle from the map and went right over it. I hope it gets better with firmware updates.

Not entirely sure tbh, I didn't do any kind of dedicated or no-go zones - I just let it loose and move anything out of the way that I think may be a problem or that I simply want to clear the floor so it cleans that area (shoes, a cable, etc.). I'd assume that even if something is mapped, it still runs detection and will clean the area that is now 'clear' but used to be 'occupied'.

Both not in your selection but I found out my new Roborock Qrevo Master is more silent compared to my older iRobot I7 (which got a halve-retirement: only two smaller rooms upstairs so I don’t have to move the robots anymore). Besides the finer tuning of suction power it’s also less noisy around brakes between the tiles. Not sure if the wheels are more elastic or they have better coil springs… but it’s even possible to draw lines on the map where there gaps between eg rooms are, so it drives slower / more careful / less noisy over those.

There are robot vacuums with blades in it so you don’t have to do this - best case at all, worst case much less often. I don’t remember which ones, but at least my Roborock QRevo Master came with a sticker that said something like „don’t touch rolls, blades inside“.

Recently got the Roborock QRevo Master and so far love it. It is my first robot vacuum so I don’t have anything to compare. That being said I have had friends who have earlier generations of robot vacuum and say that they are just floor dusters but the QRevo really is effective at keeping the kitchen and breakfast areas (high traffic) really clean. I run it every night at midnight. As far as home assistant integration there is a HACS and I am able to pull sensor data but I have not been able to get things like maps etc. I would like to be able to get it to vacuum after we leave the home as part of the away mode but have not gotten that far.

So, I have always been a roborock fan. I have the S6, and this year, I upgraded to the Qrevo Master. I use the Master on hardwood floors and tile. It's great for those applications. I have it mop the hardwood on the lowest water setting, which dries almost immediately. My floors are clean and show no signs of damage. It's great at avoiding most obstacles. It's not so great with cords. I only have one on the ground for our lamp... it will identify one portion of it and then roll over the next portion of it. Granted, it only gets tangled 2x a month on average. But it's enough to be frustrating. Most other features are top of its class. Mop self-cleaning, auto empty, the mapping features, and the app overall.

I'm going to be biased since I own (and love) two Roborocks. I have an S6, which I recently moved to the second floor and upgraded to the Qrevo Master. My downstairs is all tile/hardwood, and the Master does an incredible job. The app is easy to navigate and very intuitive. The suction power is great. The robot is quiet. I do keep my floors tidy, but I have a cord that runs 10' or so to plug in one of our lamps. It's only gotten caught on it two times in the 2 months it's been running. I do hear great things about Dreame - but can't contribute anything. I would avoid shark based on most of the feedback I see in these forums. Edit to talk about hair entanglement - I have a short haired dog and a long-haired roommate, and the Master seems to handle the hair, no problem. While I perform regular maintenance, I do not have to cut (much) hair from the roller. We're talking a few strands, if any. The S6 wraps hair around its roller for fun, so improvements have definitely been made.

I can't comment on the Dreame, unfortunately. I can tell you that I got the Qrevo Master over the holidays (as an upgrade from my roborock S6) and can give you an honest review. It is exceptional at mopping and vacuuming. Primarily hard wood/tile floors. Our dog eats wet food and makes an absolute mess of it. The vacuum/mop makes it look like the incident never occurred. We only have a small rug, which it seems to handle with 0 issue. My girlfriend has long hair, it's constantly knotted all through my S6. I picked up the Qrevo, and there was not a single piece wrapped around either brush. Cons... object detection. Specifically wires. Seems to ID them about 50% of the time? Still proceeds to run into them. I've set up no-go zones so she doesn't interact with the mist problematic wires. It consistently identifies items like shoes and successfully avoids them. Overall, I would highly recommend it. I've been loyal to roborock for a long time. I recommend checking out vacuum wars as well. I watched it religiously when picking out a vacuum. Either way I'm sure you can't really go wrong!

I upgraded from the S6 to the Qrevo Master this past holiday season. . Absolutely loving it. Could still use a little work on object identification/ avoidance. Mops and vacuums flawlessly. I highly considered the Curv for its ability to climb higher thresholds but ultimately didn't like the design as much (pre edge release.) I think you'll be more than pleased with the S8 series, the curv/edge, or the master. I also highly recommend vacuum wars. I watched it religiously when making my decision

I just got one of these and have had problems every time it’s been used. It’s new… so I’m giving it time. But it has sucked up electrical cords, gotten stuck under the couch (which it went around the first two times it vacuumed that room, so I have no idea why it tried to go under this one time), and it can’t dock itself about 1/2 the time. I’m assuming this is all due to the newness of it and we’ll sort these issues out. But it sure is frustrating to pay this much for a robot vacuum only to have to babysit it constantly.

Update (in case anyone is following my whinging). I’ve had the robot for another week and have worked out kinks. Figured out the docking issue! I have very low pike carpet but it was causing an issue with docking if I had the mop heads installed. So I put the docking station on a thin plastic desktop protector. Like a thick placemat. It’s larger than the docking station and gives the robot and the dock a “hard surface” to be on while docking. It has worked great. I’ve had to create some “no go” zones, like behind an armchair and under the couch, because it kept getting stuck. But otherwise it’s doing great.

I second the earlier response. Have a Roborock Qrevo Master. It’s great. It definitely makes the tile look cleaner and removes footprints , light dirt, and the like, but it won’t get up anything that’s dried to it like yogurt, fruit, tomato sauce, bbq sauce, etc. A steam mop works very well for those cases, so I still hand steam mop 1-2 times per month.

The MOVA P50 Pro Ultra will be miles better than the Roborock QRevo master at self-cleaning the mop washboard and at anti-tangling with its main TriCut and lifting side brush. It will also be better at preventing moisture from entering the vacuum compartment as it can lift its main and side brush, which will mean less maintenance and cleaning needed in the long run. I think you should run it on the CleanGenius or regular vacuum first and mop mode. If not, moisture from the mops will enter the vacuuming compartment and make mud that is annoying to clean. If running it on the regular vacuuming first before mopping mode, set the mop clean settings to the deepest cleaning setting and set it to clean its mops at the highest possible frequency (either by room or once every 10sqm). Since you mentioned having shedding pets, do set the auto-empty frequency to be as often as possible. The Roborock also lacks a good side brush and mop extension algorithm as good as Dreame's, but the spring on the extended mop is less stiff, making it more suitable for quarter-rounded floor moldings. Regardless of the model, you must tap out the filter once every few cleaning tasks, but after each cleaning task with the first few times with your robot. As far as I am aware, only the X50 Ultra has the filter self-cleaning capability, where air from the base station blows away any dust stuck in the filter.

The dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat is really nice with long hair with the TriCut brush and the TriCut brush cover but will get hair tangled in the side brush but this is easily removable. QRevo Master will have hair stuck on sides of brush but all-rubber brushes are also pretty good at resisting tangles on the brush. I think the Q Revo Master would be better than this specific dreame model at obstacle avoidance but you’d still have to tidy up wires and what not as roborock likes to have the wires take off its mops for some reason.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

Bigger dustbin + good use of dustbin when it comes to fur (no empty space should be in the dustbin when fur clogs it) + frequent autoemptying = better for dealing with hair and fur. For a vacuum only model, the roborock Q5 Max+ and the Q8 Max+ have a sizeable dustbin and uses the dustbin space well and has an autoempty station. The dual rollers help with fur pickup. In the US Dreame’s L/X50 Ultra fulfills these requirements as a combo model. So does the MOVA V50 Ultra for Canadian customers. The QRevo series has the same issue with some dreame models where the dustbin will be clogged with fur but there’ll be a lot of empty space on the sides. It’ll be good for picking up fur on carpets with its dual brushes but I think the eufy X8 should be better for dealing with finer dust.

Not sure what an update could do to the Q5 Max, because it has no obstacle avoidance at all. The Master is a different class. Mopping will be fine for typical dirt. Obstacle avoidance is good but not perfect. Roborocks have notoriously weak cable detection. You can set how often it should wash the mop, so large homes aren't an issue. If you suffer from masses of goop, spilled juice and the like, the Eufy might be the better choice. But the dirt scraper / wastewater box assembly is messy and intricate to clean. Any Qrevo is easy maintenace compared to that.

Duo Roller is never better than the DuoDivide of Edge. Master has a design problem. The revo mops plus DualRoller make the body so cramped that only a very tiny dustbin remains. And this even has a flawed design and cannot fill properly. But if you don't have a hair or dust problem at all, it still might be the right model for you.

Out of those two, the master is the better option. The l10 is a bit old compared to the master. The Master is a great robot vacuum other than its object avoidance which roborock struggles with general but it will be better than the l10 due to the age of the l10. If the Mova P10 pro ultra or Dreame x40/L40 is available at the same price, it would be the better choice due to its superior object avoidance and edge cleaning while being slightly worse at vacuuming.

In terms of performance for value, the Roborock Qrevos are good. I don't have experience with other brands so there may be better options. I like the Qrevo Pro for the money. The Qrevo Master has the dual roller brush which is a little better and it the arm extends to get debris out of corners better. The Qrevo Edge has more suction and the divided brush, which I believe is even better than the and it has more suction, which may not matter much. I got the Qrevo Pro for \~$550 on sale. The Edge is about twice the price right now. I would like the extra features, but not for 2x the cost. Maybe wait until the Prime day to see if they go on sale? The Mova P10 Pro Ultra looks similar to the Qrevo Master, but it has only one roller. So maybe better than the Qrevo Pro, but not as good as the Qrevo Master? It seems to be priced about the same as the Qrevo Pro. While I like the Roborock Qrevos, I would prefer to have a robot that vacuums up dirty water and cleans the mop as it goes.

I've only had to clean up the rubber rollers on it once in two months. We still try to just pick up any bigger hairballs but it's definitely been easier than sweeping and mopping, especially this time of year. https://preview.redd.it/iwgunx0in0ie1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=d0cdee2318c2ad400b548f99c06a10560708763b My loaf taking a nap before he starts barking at.... something. I think you should get a Roborock that does what you want. I have two models of the Q Revolution and both do a very good job of sweeping and mopping. You do have to check them and change the filter a couple of times per week, add water, dump out dirty water. Nothing is carefree but they automatically wash the mops and empty dirt. The Q Master Pro understands a list of voice commands as well. They are excellent at navigation as well. They will save you and your back a lot of time. The Qrevo Master has a lot of good reviews, so I don't think that's a bad option. Roborock has historically been weaker at obstacle avoidance, though, and the Master is no exception. I don't have insight into the European market, but at least on Amazon US, the Qrevo Slim is cheaper than the Master right now. I mention it because it has the first generation of Roborock's new obstacle avoidance and navigation system, which got a very high obstacle avoidance rating from Vacuum Wars, and the Saros 10R (which uses a newer version of the same system) just got the highest obstacle avoidance rating ever from them. The Saros 10R is one of Roborock's new flagships, so quite expensive, but you might give the Slim a look. Assuming the Slim doesn't work out, I think you have to go into purchasing the Master accepting that it's the closest to what you want, but not an exact match. It sounds like you're already used to poor obstacle avoidance with your current robot, and I'm sure the Master would be better than what you have now. If you can live with that, I'd expect you would be quite happy with the Master otherwise.

Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back. The S8 also has a pad attached to the back, but includes a scrubbing motion via a plate that vibrates at a high speed. It's better than the Q5 and Q8. The best mopping will be on the Qrevo and Eufy X10. They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock. Of the last two, each has its strengths and weaknesses. The X10 will be better at obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo is a Roborock, which has a better reputation for quality and reliability than the Eufy, and is also rated a little better than the Eufy at a lot of things: vacuuming performance, mopping performance, etc. It also can swing out one of its mop pads for better edge and corner cleaning, something the Eufy can't do. In some cases, obstacle avoidance is really critical, in which case I'd recommend the Eufy. Otherwise, the Qrevo is likely your best bet.

So an unknown brand just came out with a fairly pedestrian robot with stationary-pad mopping, and it has a higher rating than some of the highest-regarded robots on the market? Nope. If you really need mopping on a budget, take a look at the Dreame D10+, Eufy L60 Hybrid, or one of the Roborock Q series robots. For a big improvement in mopping for not much more money, look at the Eufy C20 or Dreame L10s Ultra series. Mova can be good, if they've solved their problem with fragile front wheels. If you don't care about mopping, look at the Eufy L60 SES or SwitchBot K10+.

You're going to get the best *software* experience using a brand like Roomba or Roborock. That is where you're going to get a lot more value if you're looking for a better app experience and better support. Most cheap Chinese Xiaomi clones will perform the cleaning (vacuuming/mopping) function just fine, you're just not going to get better features like automatic recleaning or improved edge cleaning of carpets or any "intelligent" functions, and you'll probably need to put up with weird app issues and less functionality. For example my Dreame robots (Z10 pro and W10) never had mechanical issues and cleaned great, but I repeatedly had map issues and the app experience was just very basic. I replaced them with a Roborock Q Revo Master and it's basically a combination of these bots with way better software and features.

I got Master like 3 weeks ago and its perfect for me. I have chairs with small aluminium legs and my old Dreame L10 Pro didnt notice them and he was bumping like idiot into them. I have hard floors and it avoids every dog toy and sends you a pic of it on your phone. Mopping is also amazing. So far, im very pleased.

I feel seen. I've gone through the same emotions. A 1000 dollar robot should have some minimal qualities that just work. I had Dreame x40 and it was impressive but then things didn't work. Too many sensors were wonky. It keeps beeping saying "charging" every few minutes. Didn't warn when it was out of water. Or when dirty water tank was overflowing. The Eufy S1 pro was the best at washing floors with a caveat of it did not go near edges. So I had a strip or 2 inches of dirty floor in the kitchen. Currently landed on Roborock Qrevo master but I learned to adjust expectations. It's first fun run I had to rescue it once and a couple of other times remove a small plastic wrapper that was caught in the roller and making a lot of noise. But it does a decent job. And their app is the best out there. I think this is as good a it gets for this era of robo vacuums. PS - none of them handle rubber mats well and all leave an inch of dirt around it as they try to climb on.

Hello! I completely get you! If you havent owned a robovac I would suggest going for known brands like Eufy or Roborock. I have used both and have 2 pets. Recommendations: 1. Eufy L60: [https://amzn.to/3GjRaLw](https://amzn.to/3GjRaLw) ; it is recommended due to hair detangling tech and surely works on Pet hair! I have tried it myself and a bonus is that it can empty. It is aroun 550 dollars at the min. It has a smaller setup but suction is not that high so if you have a cat or pet with smaller hair it can get tough to pick up at times. 2. Roborock QV: [https://amzn.to/3EEIij1](https://amzn.to/3EEIij1) higher suction and for a roborock very well in the price for 499 dollars for prime members as of now. Roborock qrevo is Great too : [https://amzn.to/42heLVB](https://amzn.to/42heLVB) I recommend roborock due to its suction and the availability of spare parts (other companies make) which are cheap and you can replace brushes etc pretty easily if you dont want to detangle at a later stage. Love their app as well! It's a plus that it has a mop, do note that the cleaning can be a bit noisy and if your pet gets scared easily then might not be great but overall highly recommend the roborock brand. I have tried 2 of these and they last long!

I have a Roborock qrevo master. Works well. Easy to 'deep clean' it (which you will have to do with any of them from my research). The "AI" is not that great, it can think a small leaf is animal poop and avoid it. It also will avoid shoes but occasionally get caught on the shoelace. But I suspect most of them would do that. I watched a lot of the vacuum wars YouTube channel amongst others to work out what I wanted. I love the lidar mapping of my home with the qrevo master! And being able to control it remotely (having the controls and the camera view,) has meant I've been able to drive it out of a stuck location and get it to resume the clean, it got caught between chair legs and a Duplo construction the kids had left out!! Expensive yes. Worth it - possibly. I enjoy it and it certainly gets a lot of muck off the floor that you didn't know was even there! I did consider getting a midrange robot but have actually used /benefitted from a lot of the so-called premium features. I also knew whatever I got I would not replace for many years, so didn't want to regret getting something that was just 'ok'...even though financially that would have been the correct choice. Anyways, I would recommend the robot I've got, the app is good and it seems the robot is physically well put together. Reviews were decent. Happy customer. Now to find a robot mower that can handle my lawn....

I used it for a few weeks and it was really great! I returned it and bought the QRevo Master and the performance is very similar. The mop doesn’t lift as high which could be an issue depending on rugs/carpets in your home. The object avoidance has been roughly the same as well, no issues aside from one cord and even the s8 maxv had an issue with it as well. Vacuuming/mopping is excellent on both models with no noticeable difference. Both were able to complete my torture tests with 100% efficiency 😂

I don't have issues with the dust bin. My only issue so far is how the robot does not appeart to properly recognize cables, so it's quite hard to have it do something in my home office. Other than that, it's just perfect

Roborock designed a cutting system to cut the hair off the roller axles, but it is not effective in my testing and the older designed roller ends like found on the single roller models are easier to remove for cleaning hair off. System to cut the hair was one of the things that made me consider QRevo Master - as long human hair are all over my Xiaomi 10+'s roller and bearings. If not Master, what other robot will deal effectively with long hair?

After a month of using QRevo Master, I've decided to make a review of my experience with this device. I'm in no way affiliated with Roborock, and I bought this device with my own hard-earned money. Note that I don't have experience with any other robot vacuums of similar prices, I've only owned a very basic model by Xiaomi before this one, so I cannot compare the performance with other models. Pros: The robot feels very smart, navigating around the house with very high precision, slowing down around objects, and never making any contact with furniture, except a couple short pedestals, which it bumped around a few times before realising the situation, and very rarely bumping into them. The vacuuming is very satisfactory, it picks up a lot of debris, dust, dog hair and long human hair, leaving only a few spots in hard to clean carpets. The dual roller brush seems to have superior performance on carpets, and the automatic carpet detection increases the suction power when cleaning them up, very nice feature. The mopping is pretty good, it does a pretty good job of avoiding carpets, and the dirty water tank fills up with filthy black water every time. I haven't used detergent yet, the mop cleanup and pre-washing makes many horrible noises however, akin to someone sucking with a straw from a nearly empty container. This is normal however, in order to properly drain the base, and only lasts a minute. Cons: The UI is abit hard-to-learn, with some weird AI cleaning features that I doubt anyone uses. Even though you can make nice custom cleaning routines, there is no way to assign the same routine in more than one schedule. This is a very big disappointment for me, as I would like the robot to run on a different time on Sundays, which is pretty much impossible, except if I create a second identical routine, which is time-consuming, and not user-friendly. Duplicating/Cloning routines is also not possible. The developers can (and should) very easily fix this in the future however. When using custom routines, the UI doesn't summarize the whole cleaning routine, and will only show the last part of the routine. Every other part will be saved in the history instead. This was quite confusing at first, and you can't see any detected objects from any but the last cleaning part. Routines should be treated as one task in History, and not consecutive several different ones. The robot has missed some objects, getting stuck with a rope and a sock once, I wouldn't say this is exactly a con however, since this failure rate is quite low, and it usually recognizes and avoids them very well. The robot has managed to glitch out, completely ruining the map in the second week of usage, thankfully there are tools to backup and restore the map, making recovery from such incidents very simple and easy. The robot was once unable to properly dock, approaching the base from a very awkward angle and making very weird corrective movements, before backing out, cleaning the sensors on the dock and robot quickly solved the problem. The hair tangles very easily in the brushes' bearings and sockets, even though they claim to be tangle-free (and honestly, the brush itself is nearly always clean of any hair, since it's rubber), the bearings are very quick to become full of stuck hair. Thankfully due to the modular design of the brushes, removing them is very easy and requires no sharp tools whatsoever. The design of the dust bin is, simply put, bad. The dust bin volume can't be fully utilized by the robot, and dust and hair will start spilling out when the bin is at 60-70% full. This is because of the position of the air filter which is quite awkward. You can make a workaround by doing several auto-empties during a cleanup. I could say this is the biggest con so far, cleanup of large areas that get very dirty (dog owners especially), need to have their robot empty the dustbin every 25-35m² (270-380sqft), even with everyday cleaning schedules. Conclusion: I am pretty satisfied with this purchase, although I feel that the engineers and developers have left a few gaps, both in hardware and in software, I wouldn't say they are deal breakers. I won't put an out-of-ten rating, since I havent used any comparable vacuums, but I can say it's pretty good, and I would recommend it. I'd be happy to answer any other questions from potential buyers or owners. Thanks for the read!

Interesting to know. I myself haven't used it at all, since there's no documentation or otherwise explanation on what the robot does with it. I really like knowing what automations do and how they work, and SmartPlan doesn't explain itself at all. I don't really trust the robot on setting it's cleanup settings itself, and I also doubt there's any actual AI involved with it. I understand however that it is a very nice feature to have the robot clean as best as it can without really going in depth into configuring it yourself, which would be helpful for a significant part of the user community. Perhaps I've judged it too strictly, because it's something that doesn't help me personally.

Exactly, however, the AI obstacle detection on this device, is actually AI. The app overuses the "AI" word in several places, even in carpet detection. I mean, come on, it wasn't "AI" that figured where the carpet is, it's a simple ultrasonic sensor. That's why I also doubt that "SmartPlan" uses any AI at all.

Yes! I listed every con I could find, but I mentioned that most of them have easy workarounds. They definitely did not disappoint me that much, they should be noted however. Even though the Cons list I made is quite large, they are indeed barely noticeable and rare, which is why I would in conclusion, recommend this robot. They are not deal-breakers, and the majority of other robots suffer from these as well.

Thanks for the input. You can solve the self emptying frequency issue by using routines! You can tell the robot to clean a room (or even an area) and then return to auto-empty. I have split my house into two distinct room-cleaning tasks, and it does an auto-empty in between (you can also tell it to *not* auto-empty between cleaning tasks in the routine editor)

That's very nice! HA's native integration with Roborock was one of my buying points, but I chose not to go into details about it, since it doesn't reflect the usual every-day user. You can indeed create awesome automations and features with it, but it's a result of our own tinkering, and not something Roborock provides on its own. However, I should note that these integrations are also a big pro for the consumers that are already using such systems. I would be very happy to see an option to also locally control the robot in the future, which is probably too much to ask at this point I guess :)

I haven't tried it because my house only has one such crevice which doesn't really get dirty. I might try enabling it and sending it on a few test runs. I suspect it uses its AI camera to detect them, and I'm pretty sure it's very sluggish, hence why it's still in the lab:)

Thanks for the input. Note however, that I'm not talking about compressing any dust or fur in the bin. I'm talking about utilising the whole space in it. The robot has a (I think) 220ml dust bin, but it will start overflowing into the brush compartment way before it fills this space. If you examine the contents of the dustbin when it starts overflowing, you will see a space of around 60ml being completely empty, and the robot seems to be unable to utilize it, due to the design of the airflow in the dustbin. This makes the QRevo Master dustbin's actual effective capacity quite underwhelming, but you can sort of work around it by making a few more trips back to the docking station.

Indeed, cable detection (especially in a carpeted or otherwise noisy environment), is not very good. But it's still better than nothing. As I say, obstacle detection gives the cables a chance of survival! My old robot would give no second chances, and has actually destroyed a couple good USB cables that fell off my tables. Perhaps they're trying to give us the incentive to finally make good cable management in our offices haha :)

Thanks for the input, I haven't used the device long enough to have so much guck stuck in the dirty water bin. I did notice that it might be a bit tricky to cleanup, but I've only rinsed it so far, and it hasn't started smelling at all yet. I have seen reports of this water smelling much worse when detergent is used, which is attributed to bacteria decomposing. You might be able to get around this issue by cleaning it more often.

It's not really that difficult, they can put a simple light sensor in the brush compartment near the bin, and a small led light opposite of it. When it gets obstructed, it means the robot is full and dust is starting to "spill" out. It's gonna cost us even more $ though :p And the prices on the flagship robot vacuums are already in the extremes.

Honestly, detecting a lodged item that stays lodged for more than a couple seconds, sounds like a nice side-effect feature-bug :p I'm sure there are good solutions, however they all affect the $ And it's not really really needed, since you can just time your auto-empties properly.

I bought an X40 refurb from Dreame's eBay store for 799. It was literally brand new, as they said someone returned it unopened, which has usually been the case with others on this forum. But the important thing is that with kids, my house is constantly messy: a bunch of socks here and there, jackets on the floor, shoes at random places, under the couches, and in general chaos. But with Dreame x40, I just set it and forget about it; I never had to unclog/unblock it, and my floors feel nice. One thing I am learning is that with excellent obstacle avoidance comes great responsibility - Onion peels in the kitchen can get misrecognized as dog poop, so there is that versus going over it. My earlier Roborock Master, every run I had to unclog a sock or a lace or a cable. It was just frustrating.

Yes, the Master dropped to $799 as a lightning deal today. I purchased primarily due to u/Verscreubulator detailed recommendation and I’m on vacation this week and wanted to use it during this time. Also because it was low stock. I planned to buy the iRobot 507 (it’s 505 with added accessories) at Costco until I came upon this post and saw verscreubulator’s comments. I researched Roborock vac/mop combos more and really like how the brushes and pads extend. Only the pads extend in the IRobot. I’ve had IRobot products since around the time Roomba first came out in the early 2000’s. Along with their Scooba (mop)and after that a couple Braavas. It’s hard for me to switch, but IRobot‘s quality seems to be going down.

Great comment! Qrevo master is seriously underrated, and the perfect robot indeed doesn't exist. However, the Qrevo Master's rotating mops do extend for edge cleaning, just like the ones of Saros 10R. We actually ordered the Master first and vacuuming was so much better with the Master than with the Saros (but hair tangles), and mopping is literally identical. We in the end decided to upgrade to Saros 10R because of its starsight navigation + anti-tangling brush + slim profile (Master was one frustrating cm short of fitting under the couch). If none of these features matters to OP, Qrevo Master is the best of both worlds, really: Vaccum module like the S8, mopping module like the Saros 10R. At least in my European country, the Qrevo Master is also significantly cheaper than the S8 MaxV Ultra. edit for clarity.

I don't mind the worse app with dreame, it's completely usable and reliable, just with weird translations. I genuinely like the roborock carpets first feature but I don't miss it with scheduling. If you can afford the l40 ultra, that's what I would buy for the best features (hot water mop washing, self cleaning washboard, water turbidity sensor, mop extend & lifting brush, hair cutting roller). How much more expensive are the premier q revo models in your area (the master, slim, edge, curv)? Mova p10 ultra. No competition at that price tbh. Tho the roborock q revo master for $607 refurbished on eBay is excellent too. And roborocks are built really well. Bins aren't worth it; bags protect the suction motor (and last more than 5 months in a home without pets). You can even buy a plumbing kit from AliExpress to connect these to plumbing and remove even more maintenance. It's not worth considering any robot vac that isn't from the xiaomi brand of families (roborock, dreame, mova, xiaomi). They're not built as well (eufy, ecovacs, shark) and they don't work as well (Roomba, shark)

It has a BLADE that cuts the hair off the roller. These things go on sale like last years car models. It’s a great investment but being over $1000 when I could get one that does just as good a job with slightly more maintenance… ( I have the s8 pro ultra and love it. Got a discounted refurbished Amazon renewed one and on sale. No regrets.) EDIT. I hate hair in the rollers too. Im really curious to know now if the blade is effective. I bought a Roborock qervo master on sale last fall. It is saving my sanity and hardwood floors. It does an OK job on carpet (I only have entry rugs), doesn’t get tangled fur or human hair, and does a very good job mopping. I vacuum stairs and inaccessible areas every few days and my floors are carefully vacuumed and mopped every 2-3 weeks. Otherwise the robot runs at least once a day to deal with fur and grit. I have a pretty active lifestyle with lots of dirt trail walks in a climate that has quite a bit of rain (I also have a messy kid). Pre-run the floors will feel gritty under foot. Post-run you can run a damp hand on the floor and not pick anything up. Definitely get one with a mop function if you don’t exclusively keep your dog on grass! The fur is annoying but the grit is what destroys your floors.

As someone who reviews robots for a living I think you did a really good job. I don't mess with routines in the way you do so learned a bit from you on that. Hair wrapping around the roller axles is a problem with all Roborock models except the Curv/Edge. Roborock designed a cutting system to cut the hair off the roller axles, but it is not effective in my testing and the older designed roller ends like found on the single roller models are easier to remove for cleaning hair off. As far as the badly designed dustbin you are spot on. It is also way too small especially for people with pets and or carpets who might want the Master for dual rollers only to be stuck with a dustbin that is simply too small. You can set the auto empty frequency in the app to high, however this only works in Vac & Mop mode (not vac only mode) and only after 30 minutes have passed. If it goes back to wash the mop pads after 29 minutes of cleaning it will not empty the dustbin, but it will the next time it returns so set the mop washing frequency to the lowest setting if this matters. Your solution is another workaround and likely better for some with fury pets. Roborock still makes some of the best quality robots on the market with frequent firmware updates, stable software and excellent navigation (not including object avoidance).

The obstacle avoidance works better on hard floors than carpets which is why most people that review on YouTube praise the Master. They never test it on carpet. Out of all the Qrevo models the Slim has the best object avoidance due to the inclusion of the front facing lidar. No robot on the market is perfect and the real weakness with Roborock is with object avoidance mostly with cords. With that said it accels with dependability, overall performace, near perfect navigation and has the best app on the market. Here is how I tested the Master and the full results of the object avoidance test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNNffT9q_jc&t=292s

Our best guess is that the hair is hanging up on the mop heads, then getting pulled off them when Rocky starts on the rug. So we have to vacuum those after Rocky finishes, which kinda defeats the purpose of a robot vacuum! It's definitely keeping our house cleaner with less effort overall, but that includes our manual labor. 😩

I have had excellent results with Roborock S8s and Saros 10R with Home Assistant. All of my Roborock app routines were fully integrated into Home Assistant as entities. Now I can run every aspect right from Home Assistant, and by extension, through Alexa using voice routines. This is fantastic! I have used other robovacs with home assistant, but I have never had them integrate so well! Since Roborock robovacs are the only thing I am qualified to talk about, I will make some suggestions. I, personally, would avoid automatically detangling roller brushes. They do detangle very well. But they do not clean as well, especially with lots of pet hair and on rugs and carpets. The dual roller systems take a few minutes to maintain, but they clean much, much better than the single split roller systems that auto detangle. Personally, I would seriously consider something along the lines of a Roborock Qrevo Master. It is a great compromise between dock automation and good vacuuming ability. It has the dual rollers systems for excellent vacuuming, a mostly automated dock, but it does make some compromises. It is a bit more than you want to spend. But it is an excellent system that offers a lot at a much lower price than other models.

I have had to improvise two ramps in my home for our S8s. It was easy to do and they even look pretty good. If you are creative, this will not be a problem. The shape of your apartment will not make a difference. Both moving around your house and mopping consume very little battery power. The single biggest power requirement is vacuuming. I always tell anyone who asks me what to get to start with a basic, charging dock only S8 for $350 and learn how it works and how to use it to your advantage. Then get something fancier later on. You will be very glad you have the S8 when you buy a fancy one from any manufacturer and find out how mediocre they are at vacuuming. Then, like our own Saros 10R, the fancy one will be relegated to mopping only while the S8 (in our case, two of them) does all the vacuuming. A happy balance between the S8 and the Saros 10R is the Qrevo Master. This does not apply to any other Qrevo model!!!!!!!!! It is not as fully automated as the Saros 10R, but it is still fairly automated and has the rear spinning mops. And it is the only Qrevo model that retains the vacuuming module of the S8 for excellent vacuuming. My neighbor bought one and she loves it! If I wanted to buy another robovac right now, it would be the Qrevo Master. I wish I would have known about it when I bought our Saros 10R. It would fit our needs much better and costs $700 less than the Saros 10R. I hope this helps! One more thought... All the manufacturers and review sites test their robovacs with cereal, coffee grounds and other household items loosely sprinkled on various surfaces. This stuff is easy to pick up. The real test is if you leave this stuff on the ground for half of a week and let it get well trampled into your rugs and carpets. Then test the robovacs!!! This is the real world testing I use in our home with very heavy foot traffic, people with long hair, cats, a litter box and constant dirt and debris being tracked through our home.

We have a pair of base model S8s ($350 each) with only charging docks, and a Saros 10R ($1500). I can easily live without my Saros 10R. Losing an S8 would be tragic! The 10R is very impressive and very automated in every area except vacuuming on rugs and carpets. It is a mediocre vacuum cleaner at best. It does not vacuum any better than a cheap Home Depot off-the-shelf model. The S8s are vacuuming monsters on rugs and carpets. Our house gets lots of foot traffic, there are people with long hair and two cats and a litter box. Everything gets trampled into the rugs and carpets. The S8s were life changers. The Saros 10R has become a very fancy and expensive mop. If you only have hard floors, almost anything will work and do a decent job. This gives you much more flexibility. I would recommend a compromise since you might end up with carpets. The Qrevo Master ($800) offers the spinning mops of more modern and fancier models. It has a very automated but not super automated dock that does most things but not all of them. More importantly, it keeps the dual roller vacuum module of the S8s for excellent vacuuming. The down side is that you will have to spend about two minutes doing some very easy maintenance on it occasionally. It also does not have the extending side mops and it isn't as slim at a Saros. I really wish I would have purchased a Qrevo Master over our Saros 10R. Our neighbor has one and it is fantastic. It would have served my needs much better than the Saros 10R and I could have saved $700. Expectations are the biggest issues new robovac owners have to overcome. For $1500 we want a miracle! No robovac can do everything, none of them are perfect, and there are no miracles. A $350 robovac will change your life completely. The extra $1150 will just get you a little bit more. But a fancier, automated robovac will not necessarily clean better. All robovacs can do is handle about 90% of your floor cleaning needs. They cannot do everything no matter how fancy and how expensive they are. But 90% is a lot and you will be amazed at the results! There is also a learning curve. One has to learn how to use them for their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Because of all of this, I always suggest people start with a $350 model. They are truly amazing! Save the $1150 for the next robovac once more improvements have been made in a year or two and you know how to use one and what to expect. All robovacs, no matter how fancy and how expensive, are very primitive machines. They look and feel complex. But they just are not. Lastly, the only reason to consider the fancy new navigation systems is if there might be pet waste in your home. If a robovac cannot avoid this mess, it will become a disaster. Lidar navigation is really good. The fancier, newer systems are very slightly better at obstacle avoidance, but they are not perfect either. Lidar works great and is very, very reliable. Unless you have to worry about pet waste or similar messes, there is no reason to even consider a navigation system beyond lidar. There is no additional benefit. I hope this helps!

Get a charging dock only Roborock S8 for its fantastic vacuuming ability on rugs and carpets for upstairs. Turn down the suction power in the bathrooms or any robovac will struggle with your bathroom rugs and mats. Consider a Roborock Qrevo Master for downstairs. It also has the same excellent vacuuming ability of the S8, and it mops very well also. There are a few reasons for this suggestion. Most people want the modern split single auto detangling rollers because they can avoid having to spend two minutes each week removing the rollers, pulling off the ends and removing the wound up hair. Two minutes! That's all it takes. The solid dual counter rotating rollers in the S8s and Qrevo Master vacuum clean much, much better because the rollers kick up debris better than the detangling rollers and these robovacs have much better airflow too. Pascal numbers are meaningless marketing hype. Airflow is what moves debris kicked up by the rollers through the vacuum channel into the dustbin . No manufacturer provides airflow information. The Qrevo Master has a nicely automated dock, but not a fully automated dock like the super fancy models. You get auto dustbin emptying and auto mop washing and drying. What you don't get is an automatic floor cleaning solution tank. This means you will have to add a bit more than one tablespoon of cleaning solution to a full clean water tank if you want to use the solution. Robovacs mop just fine with just water. But the solution does add a nice shine to the floor, it helps with water spots, and it helps a little bit with cleaning. What you do get is savings. The Qrevo Master gets you all the important features of the super expensive models for far less money. But you will have to add a tablespoon of cleaning solution if you want to use it, and spend two minutes per week on maintenance. I think this is an ideal solution for you. It would be for me in your situation. Avoid the auto detangling rollers if excellent vacuum cleaning ability is important to you. Good luck with your selection! I hope you love whatever you choose!

Here are some tips for your Qrevo Master: Get some spare air filters right away when you order your robovac. The Roborock band filters are excellent but expensive. The third party air filters on Amazon are much cheaper and often come in six packs. These work great too, but they don't last as long. If you use the Roborock air filters, the app will tell you when to change them.bif you use another brand, you cannot count on the app because the filter will degrade before the app tells you to change them. The other brands last 75-80% as long as the Roborock air filters. I use them often because I can get six of them for half the cost of a pair of Roborock filters. Use two air filters at a time. About every third time you run the robovac on a bigger cleaning job, after the dustbin has been emptied by the dock, put a clean air filter in the dustbin. Then thoroughly rinse the dirty one under hot tap water from both sides. Let it dry for at least 48 hours. Never pur a damp air filter into the robovac! After 48 hours, it is ready for the next rotation and can be put back into the dustbin. A clean air filter means excellent vacuum cleaning. After you try it a few times, this will be super quick and easy to do. Then put the robovac on the floor anywhere and press the home button. It has a symbol shaped like a little house on it. This will return the robovac to its dock. Third party replacement rollers work great too. But they will not last as long as the Roborock rollers. You will need spares eventually. When any of these get too soft, they will no longer clean well. The app will tell you when to replace them, but again, the timing gets off with other brands. Experience will tell you when to replace them. Again, they last 75-80% as long as the Roborock rollers. I use them often and they cost much less. But I prefer the Roborock rollers. Third party side brushes are identical in cleaning power and endurance to the Roborock brushes. They work entirely interchangeably and will work with the maintenance timer in the app. I use the cheap ones. You will need to do some quick, easy maintenance on your Qrevo Master rollers fairly often. I run our robovacs three times per week and have to do this once or twice. It only takes a moment. Flip your Robovac on its back, remove the rollers, pull off their black ends one at a time and remove the wound up hair from the rollers ends. Put the ends back and replace the rollers in the robovac. With practice, this should take about one minute. If you don't do this often enough, the rollers will not roll and the robovac will complain. Press the home button to send the robovac back to its dock. This is all you need to know about super fast, super efficient robovac maintenance. It might seem like a lot, but once you try it, your will realize how simple and easy it is. Happy robovacing! I hope you love your new Qrevo Master! I am confident that you will!

Look at a Qrevo Master. It is an excellent balance between good vacuuming capability with a lot of automation vs. poorer vacuuming ability and full automation. If you are willing to put in two minutes of robovac maintenance each week, it is about the most ideal model in the entire Roborock lineup right now. And it costs about half as much as the super fancy models. You will have to turn the robot over, remove the rollers, pull off the rollers ends and remove the wound up hair once per week. This is quick, easy and takes two minutes. It also doesn't have an automatic floor cleaning solution tank. This means you would have to add about a tablespoon (17ml) of the Roborock floor cleaning solution to each clean water tank if you want to use the solution for mopping. A robovac will mop just fine without it using only water. But the solution does help with cleaning and adds a nice shine. These are all of the drawbacks to the very slightly less fancy Qrevo Master compared to the far more expensive ones like the Edge, Curve and Saros models. That's it! A tablespoon of solution and two minutes of roller cleaning. What you get in return are all of the important capabilities of the models costing twice as much with far superior vacuum cleaning ability. The airflow of the dual counter rotating rollers brushes is simply much better at vacuuming then any of the newer models with the split single auto detangling rollers. And, you should have no problem vacuuming carpeted rooms with a Qrevo Master should you choose to do so. It performs very well on rugs and carpets. Please note that the Qrevo Master is the only model in the entire Qrevo lineup with the dual rollers. All of the rest of them use the split single roller. The Qrevo Master vacuums much better than the flagship Saros models, the Edge and Cruv, and the Qrevo Master mops equally as well. This will give you a cleaner home for almost half the cost. The exact same situation applies to the Qrevo Edge also. It has the split single roller that does not vacuum as well. The reason I say this is that I bought a Saros 10R. A Qrevo Master would have suited my needs much better. My neighbor has one and it is amazing! I regret my purchase very much! I use a pair S8s, without any automated dock features, for all of my vacuuming. They have the same vacuuming module as the Qrevo Master. Our Saros 10R has become a very fancy, expensive mop. I hope this helps!

It depends on your needs. For excellent vacuuming on rugs and carpets, any model of S8 will do great. For mopping, and especially for mop washing and drying, any Qrevo or Saros will do great. Unfortunately, I have not been able to find an ideal solution from Roborock that gives you a fully automated dock and a robovac with all the cool, desirable features that can still do a great job vacuuming rugs and carpets. A compromise is required. After checking out all the different models, I suggested to my neighbor that she get a Qrevo Master. It has the vacuuming module of an S8 with the updated spinning mops. It does a great job vacuuming. Here is the compromise: The dock is nicely automated, but not fully automated. It has the clean and dirty water tanks with automatic mop washing and drying. But it does not have the automatic floor cleaning solution tank. One would have to look up the capacity of the clean water tank and add a couple of tablespoons of floor cleaning solution to it manually every time one fully it. This is easy and I can get you the information from my neighbor because I worked out the amount of floor cleaning solution she needs to add for her if you are interested. The robovac also will not automatically leave its mops behind in the dock for vacuuming only tasks. This is also no big deal. One can quickly and easily remove and reinstall them manually. Since the docks automatically dry the mops, you will not be bringing wet mops around your home anyway if you just leave them in place. It also does not have the extending right rear mop to get right up against walls and edges. However, my Saros 10R with extending rear mop doesn't do a perfect job with walls and edges anyway. How much better does the 10R do in this department? A bit better. It is significant? Only very slightly in my opinion. Lastly, the S8 vacuuming module, like on the Qrevo Master, will require you to pick up and flip over the robot on its back. Then you have to remove the rollers and pull of their ends. This will allow you to remove the wound up hair from around the ends. This takes two minutes. In summary, the Qrevo gets you a nicely automated dock but not a fully automated dock. It does a great job vacuuming, but two minutes of maintenance will be required a couple of times a week if you run it through your whole home three times a week. A Qrevo Master would have fit my needs much better than the 10R we bought and would have saved us $700. A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. A Qrevo Master adds some very nice additional automatic features. Once can easily spend an additional $1000 or more, but it only gets you a little bit more. New robovac buyers expect miracles. These do not exist and all robovacs require maintenance and some effort. No robovac is anywhere near perfect. Even the $1500 models. A robovac is a very primitive machine no matter how fancy and how expensive it is. And there is a learning curve with how to use one for its strengths and overcome its weaknesses. What a robovac can do, even a $350 model, is 90-95% of your household floor cleaning job. You will still occasionally need a good cordless stick vacuum, and I use a cheap steam mop once a month to clean the edges of my rooms and rugs where our Saros 10R leaves small gaps. The big benefit of a robovac comes from the simple fact that I can take care of other chores while it cleans 90-95% of my floors. Lastly, one's home cleaning strategy must be adapted. Rather than doing an old fashioned deeper cleaning once per week or every other week, robovacs excel at frequent maintenance cleaning. I run ours in our high traffic hallway and kitchen every day. The rest of the house gets vacuumed on Monday, Wednesday and Friday followed by a full mopping of all of our hard floors. I have the advantage of having three robovacs, which makes my process much easier and I do not have to wait two hours for my robovac to recharge halfway through my house cleaning job. If you were planning on spending $1500 on a Saros 10R, you could consider a base model S8 and a Qrevo Master. You would still save $350 over a Saros 10R and you would have a powerful home floor cleaning combo where each robot could vacuum half of your home with battery power to spare, followed by a full mopping by the Qrevo Master. This is exactly what I would have done had I known better at the time. My neighbor, who bought the Qrevo Master, eventually did exactly what I just suggested. She also got a base model S8. She is thrilled with her results. Unfortunately, my solution with two S8s and a Saros 10R for mopping is slightly more complicated, but it is very cool to watch! I know this is a lot of information to wrap your head around. I really hope it helps! Good luck! I am happy to answer any further questions. I am also happy to give you some maintenance tips that will make maintaining your future robovac fast and easy. :-) ***** My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. The Saros 10R just fired up and is now mopping all of our hard floors. The floors in my entire house will be cleaned in about one hour and twenty minutes. While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. This is what the $1150 combo of a base model S8 and a Qrevo Master could do for you. When the Saros 10R is done mopping, I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!

If you want excellent vacuuming ability, avoid auto detangling rollers. Stick with the slightly older dual counter rotating rollers. They kick up more debris and have better airflow that carries this debris through the vacuum channel into the dustbin. Pascal suction numbers are meaningless marketing hype. Airflow is what counts and no one gives any information on this topic. Both the pad style and dual rotating mop style robovacs do a great job mopping. But the mechanism for the dual rotating mops that automatically cleans and drys them in the dock is simpler, easier to maintain and works better. Since you picked some Roborocks, I have a model I would like to suggest if you are interested. I think the Roborock Qrevo Master is currently the most ideal model in the entire Roborock lineup. It vacuums like a beast, but you will have to spend about two minutes per week removing the rollers, pulling off the hair that gets wound around them and then putting it back together. Two minutes - that's it! It also has a nicely automated dock and mops as well as the $1500 models while vacuuming much, much better. And you will save $700 in comparison. It has all of the necessary ingredients while skipping all the expensive, hyped marketing stuff that does not contribute to better cleaning, and it does a fantastic job! This is, after all, what we are all looking for, right? I don't know if an $800 Roborock Qrevo Master is in your price range, but if it is, I think it is the best option currently available. Roborock also has the best app for controlling their robovacs available. I hope this helps! Good luck making your choice! It isn't easy!

Pascal suction numbers are meaningless marketing hype. The ability to create a vacuum does not move debris into the dustbin, airflow does. The rollers kick up debris, and airflow moves it through the vacuum channel into the dustbin. No manufacturer provides information on airflow. If vacuuming ability is one of the most important features of a robovac for you, especially on rugs and carpets, avoid any models that use the modern and very popular split single auto detangling rollers. They do not kick up debris as well as the older style rubber solid single or double counter rotating rollers. And they do not provide good airflow like the older style rollers and vacuuming modules do. This is the case with all robovacs with split single auto detangling rollers made by any manufacturer. The more features that get added to a robovac, and the thinner it gets, the more sacrifices have to be made. What looses out is vacuuming ability. Our Saros 10R is an amazing machine, but it is a mediocre vacuum cleaner at best. Everything else about it is fantastic, and it mops well too! There are now two kinds of docks. There are ones that connect to your plumbing and ones that don't. They each only function in one way. You cannot use the kind of dock that connects to your plumbing without connecting it to your plumbing. And you cannot connect a standalone dock to your plumbing. If you want a very cool machine that mops well but sucks at vacuuming, get a Saros or other similar robovac from another manufacturer. Your friends will be impressed but your home will remain dirty. If you want a good robovac that vacuums very, very well, mops as well as the Saros 10R, but isn't quite as fancy (it is still pretty darn fancy!) and will require about two minutes of maintenance per week, check out a Qrevo Master. You will be very pleased with it and save at least $700. While you are shopping around, make sure you get at least one spare air filter for whatever model you choose. Use two of them in rotation. Every week, remove the dirty one from the robovac's dustbin and rinse it under hot tap water. Sometimes a small nylon brush with bristles that are not too stiff but also not too soft helps. Set your wet air filter aside to dry for at least 48 hours. Install a clean, completely dry air filter back into the dustbin, put the robovac on the ground and press the home button (it has a little house shaped symbol on it). Then the robovac will automatically return to its dock. The following week you reverse the two air filters again. I hope this helps! Good luck with your choice!

Unfortunately, I have explained my reasons for the following statements 100 times to so very many people who are always asking the same question. Unfortunately, I just don't have time to type it all out again right now. I am sorry! Here is the best I can do for now: Take a good long look at a Roborock Qrevo Master. It has excellent vacuuming and mopping ability and a nicely automated dock that will not disappoint you. What it skips are all the gimics that cost a lot of money but do not contribute to a cleaner home. It is currently going for $800. You will love it! I cannot recommend any other model in the Qrevo lineup right now because of what comes next. Avoid anything with a auto detangling rollers. None of them from any manufacturer vacuum clean very well. The older style dual counter rotating rollers do need about two minutes per week of maintenance, but they vacuum clean so very much better!!! Don't buy into high pascal suction numbers. It is pure marketing hype! Airflow is what counts. It is what moves debris kicked up by the rollers into the dustbin. Good airflow means poor vacuum pressure, or much lower pascal suction numbers. It also means much better vacuuming ability. Anything with auto detanglers has bad airflow. Airflow and good rollers are key! I hope this helps!

Very few manufacturers publish airflow measurements. Because of marketing hype, everyone looks at pascal vacuum pressure. People want high pascal numbers and manufacturers deliver them. Hopefully, this will change as more people catch on to this nonsense. All I can offer is my experience. The parts inside a robovac are all very similar or exactly the same no matter which company manufacturs it. They are off-the-shelf components made by third party companies. Manufacturers buy and install them in their products. That is why one can find the exact same parts in robovacs from many different manufacturers. Super thin robovacs tend to have poor airflow. They have to accommodate the same parts as larger robovacs in less space. This leaves less room for a nice, wide open, efficient channel for debris kicked up by the rollers to be moved into the dustbin by airflow. If a robovac uses auto detangling rollers instead of solid single or double rollers, the odds are very good that it has poor airflow. Auto detangling rollers also do not usually kick up debris nearly as well as dual counter rotating rollers. For the best vacuuming ability, the previous generation of robovacs tend to perform better than the most recent models in the area of vacuuming ability only. High pascal suction pressure numbers usually mean poor airflow. The easiest way to get high vacuum pressure, measured in pascals, is to restrict the airflow. Robovacs use about the same fan motors for vacuuming. They are difficult to improve. People want high pascal numbers, no better fans can be found, so manufacturers have only one option. They have to restrict airflow to give people the high pascal numbers they are looking for and ultimately buy. This is capitalism in action. About 5000Pa is plenty of vacuum pressure for excellent vacuuming. For the best chances of getting good vacuuming ability, pick a robovac with dual counter rotating solid rubber rollers that is not super thin. Look for pascal numbers that are reasonable. I would look for 5000 to 6000 pascals, but with the race for high pascal numbers, 10000Pa might still be ok. The robovacs with the best mopping ability usually only come with auto detangling rollers. There are some exceptions. The robovacs with the best vacuuming ability tend to use pad style or vibrating pad mopping systems. Automatic docks do not handle these mops nearly as well as the more modern dual rear spinning mops. For the best automatic washing and drying, pick dual rear spinning mops. Pad style and spinning mop models typically mop about the same. The robovacs with the best vacuuming ability tend to be from the previous two generations of robovacs rather than the newest, latest, greatest models. Everyone wants the best, most perfect, super miraculous robovac. This does not exist!!! Not even the super fancy, super expensive models are anywhere close to perfect! Every single robovac currently available from any manufacturer is a very simple, very primitive device. Robovacs have very little computing power. There are just barely enough smarts in a robovac to get the job done under simple conditions. Expecting anything more or anything else will leave you disappointed. Every robovac requires significant compromises. You will not get the machine of your fantasies no matter how much you research this topic or how much you spend. It will have strengths and weaknesses. Every single robovac requires maintenance! No matter how much it costs or how automatic it is, you still need to maintain and clean it if you want your robovac to perform properly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How well your robovac works in the long run also depends on how well you take advantage of your robovac's stenghts, how well you overcome its weaknesses, how well you adapt your home to the robovac (the other way around does not work well), and how well you maintain and clean your robovac. This is just my opinion. There are many other considerations involved in picking a robovac. I am mostly only talking about vacuuming ability based on my experience repairing robovacs. Everyone has to make their own choice.

I just have a standard test for vacuuming ability after I complete a repair. Since every mopping technology works very well as long as it is done frequently, I don't bother to test this. Our little house has people with long hair, two cats, a litter box, and lots of heavy, dirty foot traffic. Everything gets well trampled in quickly. I have a test robovac vacuum our three carpeted bedrooms on its highest suction setting. When it has finished, I send one of our base model, charging dock only Roborock S8s through the same three rooms on its highest suction setting. Then I compare the results of the dustbins. The test robovac went first when the carpets were dirtiest because they had not been cleaned yet. Its dustbin should, in principle, be the fullest. The S8 should have less, right? So far, after hundreds of robovacs, nothing has beaten one of my S8s yet, and it only has 6000Pa of suction power. The S8s almost always come back with roughly 3-5 times more debris than the test robovac by weight or volume. I have even tried this same test in reverse. Then the S8 has a nice full dustbin, and the test robovac's dustbin, while not empty, has almost nothing in it. When I try this with one S8 followed by the second one, the first one has a full dustbin and the second one is almost empty. There are some that come much closer to my S8s than most. One is the S7. Other, older S series robovacs also do very well. Actually, many robovacs with about 2,000Pa or more of suction with dual counter rotating rollers do pretty well from many manufactures. What does not perform well is any robovac with any kind of auto detangling rollers combined with high suction numbers. Somewhere around 8,000-10,000Pa there is a noticable decline in vacuuming ability. By the time one hits 18,000-20,000Pa it becomes terrible. My test is not fancy. It is not scientific or carefully calculated or AI weighted. But it is extremely reliable. And, of course, my test only has to please me. I bought a Roborock Saros 10R because I was so impressed with our first $350 S8 when I got it. The Saros 10R is a terrible vacuum cleaner, especially on rugs and carpets. As a result, it only mops now and I got a second $350 S8 to split our vacuuming tasks. Personally, I only ever recommend any model of Roborock S8 purely for its vacuuming ability. But I dislike the mopping system. It does a great job mopping, but the mechanism in the dock used to clean the mops it too complicated and needs far too much maintenance. The only other thing I will recommend to people is a Roborock Qrevo Master because it has the rear spinners that the dock handles well with its very simple mechanism that is easy to maintain. Most importantly, it uses a vacuuming module that is almost identical to the ones used by the S8s. It has everything one needs for a clean house without all the modern nonsense and gimics that cost a lot but do not actually help get the house any cleaner. As for other robovacs, there are quite a few that I like. There are many that have some things that I like and others that I do not. I do have a strong preference for the lower end, basic models from expensive lines. My cheap S8s are a good example of this. But, so far, I don't feel strongly enough about any of them to recommend them. I see most of them simply as average. The fact that my favorites are Roborocks is unintentional. However, iRobots and Roborocks make up almost half of all of the different robovacs I get to work on. They are the ones I have the most experience with. This is only my opinion. I am fortunate that I only need to please myself. I hope this answers your question. I am not sure it does. Keep in mind that it takes a while before the latest models come to my door. I hope this helps!

The best robovac I can currently recommend is the Roborock Qrevo Master. It has excellent vacuuming and mopping capabilities. But, like with any robovac, there are compromises. With the older style rollers, you have to spend two minutes each week removing the rollers, pulling off the ends, and removing the wound up hair that collects around the ends. Then you put it back together. Two minutes - that's it. This is all the effort auto detangling rollers save you. In exchange for two minutes of effort, you will be very, very pleased with its vacuuming performance, especially with lots of hair, and rugs and carpets! The other thing is does not have that the $1500 models have is an auto floor cleaning solution tank. If you can add about a tablespoon of the Roborock floor cleaning solution to each clean water tank, you have overcome this issue also. For about $800 you get all the benefits of the $1500 models that actually contribute to a cleaner house with only two very small drawbacks. You save $700 and end up with much cleaner floors. There is only one reason to consider any of the fancy, new, expensive robovacs. That is if there is a risk of pet waste on your floors. The newer obstacle avoidance systems are very slightly better at avoiding obstacles than the lidar systems are, but only very slightly. They are also far from perfect. I think the Roborock Qrevo Master is just about perfect for good house cleaning without all the fancy unnecessary stuff that costs a lot of money and doesn't help much. If you get one, I can provide all sorts of tips that will help you steamline your process if you are interested. I hope this helps! Picking a robovac with all the many different models and features available right now is not easy. Good luck!

I bought a $350 Roborock S8 base model (charging dock only) about a year ago. It vacuums fantastically! When the Saros models came out I was very excited and bought a $1500 10R. It is a terrible vacuum cleaner. It moves very little air through its system compared to our S8 even on it maximum suction setting. It does mop very well. Because of this, I bought a second $350 S8. Now each of the S8s vacuum half of our home and the Saros 10R has become a very fancy, expensive mop. I find this very disappointing! I think the Roborock Qrevo Master is the perfect hybrid between these two models. It has the same vacuuming module as the S8 with the same mopping system as the 10R. The dock is not fully automated, but it is still very automated. The only thing missing is the automatic floor cleaning solution tank. The Roborock Qrevo Master would have served my needs much better than the Saros 10R for half of the cost! With two of them, I could have vacuumed and mopped our entire house in about 50 minutes without needing to recharge any batteries halfway through the job.

Robomopping is fairly easy, so I will get back to that later. Excellent vacuuming ability is the biggest challenge. Everyone wants auto detangling rollers nowadays. Auto detangling rollers work great for auto detangling hair. And they require almost no maintenance. But if one wants excellent vacuuming ability, one should avoid them. Dual counter rotating solid rubber rollers kick up debris much, much better than the auto detangling rollers do. These are usually found on the previous generation of robovacs rather than the newest models. The market demands auto detangling rollers and the manufacturers deliver what people want. Everyone is looking for astronomical pascal suction numbers thinking this will make their robovac vacuum better. Vacuum pressure is measured in pascals, and this is what these numbers refer to. A vacuum chamber can have super high vacuum pressure, but it will never move any debris anywhere. Vacuum pressure helps a little bit, but it is actually airflow that moves debris kicked up by the rollers into the dustbin. In order to vacuum well, a vacuum cleaner needs excellent airflow. No manufacturer gives any information about airflow at all because all of their latest models and flagships would look terrible to buyers. This is because the easiest way to deliver the super high pascal suction numbers the market currently demands is to restrict airflow. Here, the link between high pascal numbers and low airflow suddenly becomes very clear. Robovacs all use either the same or very similar internal parts. These parts are all very cheap, off-the-shelf parts made by third party manufacturers. You can see this yourself by searching for parts for your favorite robovac on AliExpress. Robovac manufacturers buy these parts and install them in their products. It is surprising how cheap the parts are in very expensive robovacs! If they are all using the same or similar parts, there is only one remaining way to increase vacuum pressure - decrease airflow. The result is decreased vacuuming ability. Robovacs with dual counter rotating rollers and good airflow vacuum much much better than any newer model currently available. This comes at a cost. Better vacuuming ability requires two minutes of weekly maintenance that the newer models with poor vacuuming ability will spare you. You have to remove the rollers, pull off their ends, and remove the wound up hair that collects around them. If you want excellent vacuuming ability, these two minutes of maintenace are required. All of the above applies to all robovac manufacturers equally. My favorite robovacs for vacuuming ability are any of the models in the Roborock S8 line. Every one of these vacuums very, very well. I have a pair of $350 base model, charging dock only S8s with 6000Pa of suction power. They both so significantly outperform our $1500 Saros 10R with 18500Pa of suction power in vacuuming ability, that I now only use our Saros 10R as a mop while the two S8s each vacuum half of our house. Any model of Roborock S8 has good dual counter rotating rollers and good airflow. However, I do not like the mopping system on the S8s although they do mop very well. And this brings me to the topic of mopping. Rollers, vibrating pads and spinning mops all mop very well. While rollers probably do clean better, If one mops often, the difference is negligible as long as the floors have been thoroughly vacuumed first. Rollers need maintenance at least weekly or they will clog with hair, debris and gunk. This is not always easy depending on the model. Vibrating pads require complicated mechanisms in the dock for cleaning. These can get filled with hair and gunk and also require significant maintenance. For a robovac without a dock, they are great because the pads can just be thrown into the washer for easy cleaning. My favorite option is spinning mops, because the dock mechanism is simple and effective. About once per month, the mopping tray needs to be removed and separated into its three parts. These parts need to be rinsed in the sink and reinstalled. This process is quick and easy. This brings me to my best option for a recommendation. This is the Roborock Qrevo Master. It is the only model that combines the S8 vacuuming module with rear spinning mops. It has dual counter rotating rollers that do require about two minutes of easy maintenance once per week. It uses the rear spinning mops that its dock can clean and dry well without much maintenance, and it has a nicely automated dock. However, the dock is not as extensively automated as many newer, fancier models. But it has everything one needs. It is a very nice dock! The Qrevo Master has everything necessary for a thoroughly cleaned home. It skips all the gimics which will impress your friends and cost a lot, but will not get your home any cleaner. A robovac's primary function is vacuum cleaning. If it cannot vacuum clean very well, it is not useful to me. For this reason, I only ever recommend any model of S8 and the Qrevo Master. My personal choice is the Qrevo Master. Our Saros 10R was a very fancy, very expensive mistake. A Qrevo Master, which costs almost half as much as the Saros 10R would have served my needs much better! I hope this is helpful! LATER EDIT: Sorry I didn't add this to my original reply above, but I control all three of my Roborocks using Home Assistant. Use the Roborock integration, not Matter. Matter will only give you the most primitive basics: clean, pause, dock, etc. While the Roborock integration does not function quite how I want it to, it does work very well. For the time being, I created routines for all of my cleaning needs for my entire house within the Roborock app. These come into Home Assistant as entities I can use like a button. My favorite automation also includes Alexa through an input Boolean. I can tell Alexa to clean the house. This starts a Home Assistant automation that runs all three of my Roborocks simultaneously through the Roborock routines. Obviously, most robovacs return to their dock after finishing a routine. I use this to trigger the next steps in the automation and minimize downtime while avoiding traffic jams between robovacs. It works very well! In principal, one can replace the entire Roborock app within Home Assistant. I am working on putting this together right now, but it isn't that easy to do and requires a lot of bits and pieces. I am concerned that future firmware updates might mess with this too after I put a huge amount of effort into setting it up. In the meantime, using the Roborock integration with the Roborock routines and Home Assistant automations works very, very well! I can even see my robovacs running on a map, but there is a much bigger delay in location updating than with the Roborock app. I hope this helps!

With any robovac, huge amounts of hair can be a problem. If the dustbin, which is very small in a robovac, gets completely full, the robovac can no longer clean properly. If the dustbin gets completely full for any reason, one has to adjust one's cleaning strategy. The robovac needs to return to its dock often enough to empty the dustbin so it can keep working. This dustbin emptying frequency can be set per room or by a time interval. This means that when you first start to use a robovac, you will need to pause it frequently and check it's dustbin as it vacuums your home. If your robovac dustbin gets about 2/3rds full after cleaning each room, set the dustbin to empty after each room. If your dustbin gets about 2/3rds full every 15 minutes (adjust time as needed here), have it empty it's dustbin every 15 minutes. Obviously, a robovac is not a full sized, normal vacuum cleaner. They are very small machines with very small plastic parts and have very small dustbin. One cannot think of a robovac, and use a robovac, like one does a normal vacuum cleaner. Robovacs are frequent maintenance cleaning machines. They are not intended for cleaning once per week like a normal vacuum cleaner. They need to be run often. They require a different thought process and a different cleaning strategy. One learns this through experience. Often, completely full dustbins indicate that in order to use a robovac successfully, it needs to be run more frequently. Additionally, a robovac often vacuum cleans so well compared to many normal vacuum cleaners, that it will pick up hair and debris a normal vacuum cleaner has left behind for years. I refered to this as the cleaning backlog. When I started using our first robovac, our dustbins were completely choked full of hair and debris everytime I ran it. So I started running it every day. Our house has always been clean and this situation surprised me. After running the robovac on its highest suction setting through each room of our house every day for three weeks, I suddenly noticed noticed that my dustbins were only about 1/4 full rather than completely full. This was because the robovac had finally cleaned this backlog of hair and debris from our rugs and carpets. From here on out, I was able to reduce my suction settings and the frequency at which I cleaned. One thing to note is that robovacs are slow moving and their battery only lasts a certain amount of time. Ours can vacuum half of our home before needing to return to the dock to charge for two hours. We have several people with long hair, which is usually more difficult for a robovac to handle than pet hair, we have two cats that shed a lot, and lots of heavy, dirty foot traffic in our home. I use our robovacs to vacuum and mop our floors in our entire house at least three times per week, often even more than that. If you can develop a frequent cleaning strategy that takes advantage of your robovac's strengths and overcome its weaknesses, I am confident one of them can serve your well, even with a German Shepard! This will take you a while to learn how to do if you have never used a robovac before. Robovacs are very simple, primitive machines, even the very fancy, very expensive ones!!! They may be somewhat smart, but most of their intelligence will remain in your hands and cleaning strategy. They are not perfect and they cannot perform miracles. But they do work very well if one learns how to use their abilities and limitations to one's advantage. A robovac can only do 90-95% of the floor cleaning tasks that homes typically require. They cannot do everything. In the end, your success at using a robovac depends much more on you than the machine itself. I cannot stress this enough! Remember, there are no miracles here! I am confident that a Roborock Qrevo Master will serve you well! But with so much hair, you may have to maintain the rollers more frequently than once per week. Fortunately, this is an easy task. Depending on your results and the size of your home, you will probably be considering adding a second Qrevo Master within months after starting to use your first one. This is why I have three robovacs now. I hope all of this is helpful!

Have you considered a Qrevo Master? I am not talking about any other Qrevo model. Just the Qrevo Master. The S8 line has significantly better vacuuming performance than any of the Saros models. Pascal numbers mean nothing. Airflow is what picks up particles kicked up by the rollers and moves them through the vacuum channel into the dustbin. The S8 line has much better airflow than any of the Saros models with much lower pascal numbers. They vacuum much, much better! The Qrevo Master keeps the S8 vacuuming module and adds the spinning mops with auto mop cleaning and drying in the dock. This is ideal in my opinion. The Qrevo Master dock is not as automated as the Saros docks, but it is still well automated. The biggest thing missing is the automatic floor cleaning solution tank. But, if you use the Roborock floor cleaning solution, this just means you need to add about 17ml of the solution to each full clean water tank manually. Robot vacuum cleaners mop just fine without any floor cleaning solution. Add the water to the tank first before adding the cleaning solution or it will foam up. The one thing that the Qrevo Master does not have is an extending edge mop to better clean along wall edges. If it had this, it would be perfect in my opinion. None of the S8 models have this either. Other than edge cleaning and an automatic cleaning solution tank, it is just about perfect in my opinion. It also costs slightly more than half as much as a Saros 10R, while providing far superior vacuum cleaning ability. It should be comfortably in your price range. The perfect robot vacuum cleaner does not exist. Compromises must be made. This is an excellent compromise in my opinion, and it saves a lot of money. I bought a Saros 10R. My neighbor bought a Qrevo Master. The Qrevo Master would have served my needs much better than the Saros 10R does now. I regret my choice. I hope this helps! Good luck!

Very interesting again! Thank you! Yes, it is specifically on rugs and carpets that the S8 vacuuming module performs so well. Hard floors are easy and almost any robot vacuum cleaner will do a decent job on them. I have looked up the Qrevo Master. It is exactly as you said. The Qrevo Master has the FlexArm extendable rear mop. This is a wonderful improvement! I have worked on three different Qrevo Masters. None of them had a mechanism to extend the rear mop. Both mops were fixed in place. I really believe that Roborock initially made them without FlexArm mops and added it later. Perhaps I will contact Roborock customer service and ask about this. Thanks again and enjoy your Saros 10R!!!!!

I use a pair of base model, charging dock only, $350 S8s to do all of our vacuuming. They do an absolutely excellent job! We have a Saros 10R too. It is a terrible vacuum cleaner. I now only use it to mop. Otherwise it is very cool! But, who needs a vacuum cleaner that cannot vacuum well? The modern auto detangling rollers are great at auto detangling hair. But they are terrible for general purpose vacuum cleaning. They just do not kick up debris well. This applies equally to all manufacturers. The older style dual counter rotating rollers do a significantly better job at kicking up debris than the more modern and super popular auto detanglers. What a lot of nonsense we have all bought into! The pascal suction power numbers given in marketing material is all hype. It is completely meaningless. The ability to create a vacuum, measured in pascals, is easier when airflow is restricted. We wanted higher pascal numbers and all the manufacturers gave it to us! But, airflow is just what one needs to move debris kicked up by the rollers into the dustbin. The race towards super high pascal numbers has made a generation of terrible vacuum cleaners from all manufacturers. The auto detangling rollers make this situation even worse. Use your Saros as a mop. Get a cheap S8 or even an S7 for your vacuuming needs. You will be glad you did! If it is not too late to return your Saros, try a Qrevo Master instead. You will not get every bell and whistle you got with your Saros, but you will get the vacuuming ability of an S8 with the mopping ability of your Saros. The Qrevo Master is the only robovac of this kind in the entire Qrevo line. I hope this is helpful!

If these other brands have auto detangling rollers, then they tend to have poor vacuuming ability. Most of the stuff I have already written in previous comments apply to all models and manufacturers. They all have terrible airflow but high vacuum pressure. Airflow is what makes the difference between a good and bad vacuum cleaner. However, some of these other brands do have very interesting mopping features. Some of the Eufys vacuum pretty well, but I find their older models without auto detangling rollers work better for me. I was disappointed by some of the Dreame robovacs just as I was with much of the Qrevo line and both Saros models when it comes to vacuuming. But the X50's ability to climb thresholds is very impressive. I have not yet had the opportunity to work on a Mova so I cannot tell you anything about them. Essentially, in the end, all models from all of manufacturers are about the same. They all use either the same or very similar off-the-shelf internal parts made by third party vendors. If you look up these parts on AliExpress, they are super cheap. Most of them seem of very low quality, but they do seem to work reasonably well. Robovacs are very simple, very primitive machines with very limiting electronics, little memory and just barely enough computing power to get the job done. No matter how fancy and expensive a robovac is, you cannot expect miracles, it will absolutely not be perfect, and you will have to compromise!!! The "best" robovac is an interesting concept, but I do not think it exists at any price!!! No matter who the manufacture a robovac, the repair rates on robovacs must be very, very high. But this is an entirely new topic. I sure seem to repair a lot of them! Because everything is so similar across the industry, there are only two robovacs I feel comfortable recommending at all. These are the Roborock S8 as an inexpensive, charging dock only model, and a Roborock Qrevo Master for a fancier model. Both are excellent cleaning machines. This does not mean other models are necessarily bad. It is just that nothing about them stands out to me that is worthy of a recommendation at the price at which they are offered. I just lump them into the category of just another variation of the same old thing. Good luck!

Look at a Roborock Qrevo Master if you have not made your purchase yet. It costs $800, has excellent vacuuming and mopping capabilities and a nicely automated dock. It will require two minutes of maintenance per week in exchange for the excellent vacuuming ability. You have to remove the rollers, pull off their ends and remove the wound up hair. Two minutes - that's it! No robovac from any manufacturer with auto detangling rollers will vacuum as well as the Qrevo Master. But they are great at auto detangling hair. It skips all the gimics that will impress your friends but will not contribute to a cleaner home. Save the $700 for something else. You will not be disappointed with a Qrevo Master! I think it is the most ideal model in the entire Roborock lineup right now at any budget. I have not yet found any robovac from any manufacturer that can beat it yet, and I work on a lot of robovacs as a second job! I hope this helps!

I like the Qrevo Master better than any other model in the Q, Qrevo or Saros lines from Roborock. It vacuums much, much better, but it does require about two minutes of weekly maintenance. There are other considerations that may make one of these models more desirable for you. I am only talking about vacuuming performance. There is no perfect or best robovac at any price! They all have stenghts and weaknesses. Any robovac will require a compromise and maintenance. There are no miracle machines no matter how fancy and expensive they are! I only feel comfortable recommending two models by any manufacturer right now. These are the Roborock S8 as a basic, charging dock only model, and the Roborock Qrevo Master as a fancy, more automated model. The fact that they are both Roborocks is not coincidental because they both have the same vacuuming module. Good luck! It is not easy to choose a robovac!

I do not recommend any other models but S8s and Qrevo Masters because of reduced vacuum cleaning ability. I cannot personally recommend anything with auto detangling rollers. Unfortunately, you will have to look elsewhere for this recommendation. I will say that the Qrevo Pro is in your price range. It has the vacuum vacuuming ability of an S7, which is very good, and good mopping, but it doesn't have auto detangling rollers. It looks like this is as far as I can help you! I wish you all the best with your selection! Happy robovaccing!

In case you do become interested in an automatic dock after checking around, look into a Roborock Qrevo Master. If I had to buy another robovac right now, this would be the one for me. The Qrevo Master has a very similar vacuuming module as an S8 with excellent airflow. It has a nicely automated dock that does an excellent job cleaning the spinning mop pads. And it auto empties the dustbin. The Qrevo Master has everything one needs for a very clean house with out all the expensive nonsense and gimics that cost a lot of money but do not contribute to a cleaner house. In my own case, a Qrevo Master, supplemented by a charging dock only S8 would be ideal!!! If a robovac cannot vacuum clean very, very well, I don't want it! Mopping is easy if the house has been thoroughly vacuumed first.

I love the S8s for their vacuuming ability. Both the S7s and S8s vacuum very well! Both also mop well. What I don't like is the mechanism in the dock to wash the mops. It is complicated and requires too much maintenance. Without good, frequent maintenance, the S8's mop cleaning mechanism will fill up with mud, hair and debris and can clog. The same is true for the mechanism for washing the mops in the S7's dock. Because of how simple the dock mechanism is with spinning mops, like in the dock of your Saros 10R, I prefer spinning mops. The dock mechanism is effective and requires little maintenance. If one vacuums thoroughly first and then mops, at least three times per week, all mopping systems perform well. For me, this suggests looking for a robovac with the vacuuming system of an S7 or S8 with the spinning mops of the Saros 10R. I also like extendible side brushes and rear mops for better edge cleaning against walls. The only robovac that offers this ideal combination is a Roborock Qrevo Master. Three or four weeks ago, one could get a Qrevo Master for about $800. Then, with Prime Days, these became either unavailable, or only available at an outrageous price. At this point, the Qrevo Master does seem to be available again, but the price seems to have settled at $1300. I do not know why it suddenly became $500 more expensive. Unfortunately, this leaves me with nothing left to recommend for a robovac that vacuums and mops very well. I am sorry! This situation is very disappointing for me because I was ready to upgrade to a Qrevo Master from our own Saros 10R when all of this nonsense happened. You will have to look elsewhere for help and a good recommendation. I wish I could do more!

If I left something out that you do that you find important for maintaining vacuuming ability, please let me know! I repair a lot of robovacs as a side job and would love to learn more and improve my skills. Are you replacing your rollers as needed? That is the only thing I can think of that might still degrade the vacuuming ability on your S8. I use cheaper rollers made by third party manufacturers rather than the expensive ones sold by Roborock. These usually work well, but they do not last nearly as long. If you grab your rollers and the rubber has become soft, they will no longer work well. New rollers have pretty stiff rubber. The stiffer the rubber the better the rollers work to kick up debris. The S8s do have some obstacle avoidance weaknesses, but even the new Starsight navigation and obstacle avoidance systems are only a little bit better. They are still far from perfect. If one of our two S8s died, I would replace it with another S8 or a Qrevo Master because I love their vacuuming system. They both use the same vacuuming module. I do prefer the mopping system on the Qrevo Master. It is much easier for the dock to clean and dry than the S8 system because it is mechanically more simple. They both mop about the same.

I've had the s8 pro ultra with the single mop pad and now have the saros 10r with the rotating dual mop pads. The dual mop pads are superior imo. Both on your list have the duo divide brush which tangles less but sacrifice vacuum performance. Honestly, if I was in your boat, I would maybe go for the Qrevo master. You get the original vacuum brushes and the dual rotating mop pads and it's on mega sale right now.

Amazon has the Qrevo Master for $799 ($1599) right now. This is the best deal you're gonna get. I'm on my 2nd 10r (coming from S8 Pro Ultra) and I'm not impressed. It's sooooo slow. It takes 2 charges and over 2 hours to clean <700sqft. Love the dual spinning mops. Duo divide brush doesn't tangle but the suction...kinda sucks...or doesn't suck! 🤭 The one thing I will give the 10r is that it rarely gets stuck. The Qrevo master has the spinning mops, self cleaning dock, flexi-arm, obstacle avoidance, lidar nav, and the original vacuum brushes. It has almost all the things the 10r does and it's half the price!

Same story. Replaced j8+ (costco's version) with qrevo master when moved into hard-floored place and needed mopping feature. I immediately noticed how bad obstacle avoidance is on the master compared to j8. iRobot was a no-brainer in this part. No prep is needed. Just hit the button and it vacuums everything and avoids every small item like a phone cable or a sock. No idea how the heck it has such good reviews on Youtube.

This is completely untrue. I am simply a person who feels as though the tech on the master was sacrificed for profit. In fact the reviews on the master were so bad that they had to add reviews from the s8 maxv ultra. I had a good experience with both roborock and dreame. However, I will never buy a roborock again. Obstacle avoidance was something that I thought didn’t matter. It does. In fact roborock has released 5 revo models this year if that doesn’t tell you something about their priorities then I don’t know what will. You shouldn’t have to pick up every damn cord in your house to run a cleaner. And every sock and every towel and every other random thing that’s in a house

Same thing happened with me on the dirty water! I used to think that I only wanted a realllllly good vacuum from a robot vacuum. When I got the Qrevo Master, I found out that the mopping feature helps pick up dirt and debris that the vacuum missed which made the floors cleaner than a vacuum only robot. That might seem straight forward, but I just wasn’t anticipating the mopping feature to make that big of a deal in terms of getting the floors clean. I was so wrong.

I have had a Qrevo Master for about 2 months now and I agree with everything, but will just say that the cons you list are hardly noticeable for me. I don’t use routines. I just use a simple clean/mop nightly schedule and it works great. I never have to touch the thing unless a tank is full/empty or if the dust bin fills up. The razor blade makes long/large hair tangles very manageable without tangling up although some hair does build up in the areas you describe. I just plan to clean the robot out about once a month to remove any build up which already aligns with the sensor cleaning schedule.

I got the Roborock Qrevo Master and while the rollers don’t stretch the full length of the bot, the brush arm and mops reach out to the edge of the wall. IMO this is one of the benefits of mopping. If the brush arm and vacuum don’t get some dirt or dust, the mops will and they reach right up to the edge.

Canada here too! After some research, I decided on Roborock. From reading online these seems to be the drawbacks according to several people: non-existent customer service apparently, object avoidance -so if your sis very lazy to pickup things or got pets in the house. I was about to buy from Costco the Narwhal because of Costco return policy...but they cancelled the order so ended up getting The Roborock Qrevo Master because I wanted the mop functionality. If Vacuum only, Q5 max+ seems to be the popular choice.

Currently have the Roborock Qrevo Master on the main level. Vacuum and mop, with auto-empty for both the dust bin and the mop water. Have to refill the water about every week, week and a half, dust bag replaced about every month. Basement, we've got a Neato Botvac D3 (which is currently out of service, wating for me to pull a drive wheel out of the D7 that had been running upstairs until IT broke down two months ago). They do a good enough job that we break out the upright vac maybe every 4-6 weeks, and mop the kitchen once a month.

I have a Qrevo (not the master, just one of the OGs I think) and I haven’t really had a problem. I’ve had it a year, I run it daily, and I can count on one hand the number of times it’s eaten cat toys. The only consistent issue I have with it is that I have a blanket with fringe and if the fringe hangs too far off the couch onto the floor the Qrevo will get tangled in that. But that’s genuinely the only issue I’ve had with obstacles.  I also have a Q8 Max upstairs on carpet and that sumbitch craves toy mice. Nothing can sate its bottomless appetite for cat toys. Idk if it’s the carpet or the model but it’s a consistent issue. (Still better the roomba I had up there before tho.) The path finding on the Q8 is great, but it refuses to avoid the cat toys.

I bought a new roborock qrevo with mop function last year from Costco and we used nightly (have a messy toddler) and the lidar stopped working after 6 months. Emptying the dirty mop wear container was also terrible as it smelled terrible! The auto empty would also jam regularly. My parents have an old roborock s3 I believe that’s 7-8 years old. It was one of the first ones with a mop function and they never use the mop function. There’s works great. So I’m not sure if the mop function really does work for longevity purposes.

To really get value out of a robotic vacuum the key is to not buy the cheapest or second cheapest option. Get a vacuum with radar or LiDAR with room mapping. I have a Roborock QRevo with the mop option and I really, really like it. I’m able to map rooms, even on different floors, control both vacuum and mopping levels, and easily fence off areas and objects including setting up custom cleaning routines for a room or multiple rooms. Whereas I also have the base model Roomba and it only vacuums and crashes about my house like a drunken fool. It has very limited radar sense and relies on bumpers to “feel” its way around. I’m not saying no to the Roomba brand only that a cheap base model of any brand has big drawbacks. You can often find really good deals for Roborock on Amazon. Just use camel camel camel to price watch and alert you.

I'm not sure what is actively considered a top vacuum but something I've learned the hard way is to make sure the robot has a setting to empty the dustbin periodically or else it will go through a whole run, then try to empty the dustbin and the charging station will get clogged trying to suck the large clump of hair into the dust bag. I have a qrevo and really love the robot but the fact roborock doesn't currently have an option to empty the dustbin every 100 sqft or so, means that I have had to set up separate schedules for each room so it goes back to the dock to empty the dustbin between each room. It's frustrating.

I had one of the higher end Sharks, can't remember the model, and I thought I liked it. It touted laser mapping, advanced schedules, etc. But then I got the Roborock Q Revo and it absolutely blew me away; made me realize how shitty the Shark was. At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.

I have a Roborock Q Revo in our 2 adult household and love it. I sweep out the corners occasionally since a round vacuum obviously can’t get into a 90 degree corner, but I don’t have to vacuum or mop anymore unless I just want to. My MIL also bought the same model, and they have three dogs in their home. One of whole sheds A LOT. He’s a corgi/lab mix and blows coat like a dandelion. It keeps up with all their hair, just needs more frequent dust bag replacements. It is so worth buying the right kind and getting a quality robot vacuum/mop. The cheap ones simply aren’t worth it. My father has a roomba (to excuse himself from ever actually cleaning) and it is awful. It will run over the same piece of hair multiple times without picking it up and then straight up avoid a certain dirty spot on the floor repeatedly. It runs on a random track of going until it bumps into something and then goes a different direction. He has also had problems with the batteries crapping out constantly and needing replaced because the capacity deteriorates so badly. The Roborock goes in a pattern; first does a perimeter sweep then goes in a grid pattern of vertical then horizontal rows. The Roborock takes floor plans of your house so you can select individual rooms for cleaning. There is a spot cleaning feature as well where you can drop a box to enclose a specific area that needs cleaned. You can set up scheduled for it to keep your house maintained and ignore it beyond weekly maintenance. I dump dirty water, fill the clean water, and wash mop heads once a week. I love it and would never buy anything else. Especially a Roomba.

I have a geofence that runs the full vac/mop when I leave in AM thru HA. I trigger a night mop of kitchen at 1am via HA. I have automations that notify on the TV when the buckets need to be filled/dumped. I’m planning to 3D print replacement buckets with auto fill and dump — this is my only issue… needs that water and dumping based on size of house and how often you run the mop.

I have a Q Revo and it does an ok job but yeah it's not up to the level of a mop, or even a hard floor cleaner. And these things are also ridiculously expensive to buy the latest and greatest. It does a fine job running daily to keep the floors clean, cleaner than just a vacuum. But I have a very drooly dog that leaves spots on the floor and it won't scrub those up, I have to break out a floor cleaner for that. It does better than my old roomba though, it almost never gets caught on or tangled in anything and mostly drives around any obstacles fine. Was it worth it? Probably not for the price I paid. Right now though you can get a Q Revo for $479 which I think would be worth it. So I maybe might advise buying the last gen at a discount rather than the latest and greatest and still plan on having to manually clean from time to time. Really depends on your needs of course, if you are a clean person living alone then you might rarely have spots that the robot won't get.

This is cool, but I'm not sure how useful it is. Maybe instead of simply positive or negative, it could drill down into more specific, e.g. "Good for pets?", "Good for carpets", "Easy to maintain", "Easy to use app" etc. For example, the obstacle avoidance in the Q Revo which has the highest rating here is pretty terrible. It will easily drive through pet waste spreading it all over your home and basically destroying the robot. I have two Q Revos, but no pets :)

TLDR: this sounds like a giant pain and very inconvenient, but you could do it. Most brands on technically support 1 home. But roborocks support up to 4 floors, I think so you could have each house be a different floor. Honestly, before committing to driving your vacuum all around try just having one to share between your floors. These things work best as “set it and forget it”. I ended up getting a refurb Q5 for my basement because over time it was less hassle than remembering to move my Q Revo from the first floor to the basement to run it. Additionally, you will vacuum more if you just set a schedule and have it run automatically.

Hi all, I’d like to know, is the Reactive AI (with rgb camera) actually much better than ReactiveTech? At the moment I have a Q Revo and it’s quite good, it is able to avoid most of the the objects in my house. But it struggles particularly with “low and flat“ objects. In particular this one, which is similar to a U shaped chair: https://preview.redd.it/suvutwjl6wne1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f064284593fd32eeb31bffbcf7a05b6278d1d89 He tries to climb over, got stuck, then turns back and so on, a mess… Do you think Reactive AI robots like Curv, Edge, Slim or the new Saros could handle this? Can they recognize the obstacle (taking a photo) and maybe you can tell the robot to avoid it at all?

I told everyone I know about my Q Revo I bought last year. “$600!? On a vacuum!?” It literally vacuums and mops every day while I’m at work. The dust piling up from my lazy ass not cleaning once a week is gone. The pockets of fur from my chihuahua is gone.

Also owning an OG QRevo. The mop cleaning is noisy enough through doors and we have a decent difference in floor height between rooms that always takes it a few attempts to lift itself over. Not mentioning emptying the bin at the end of a cycle. It’s a decent machine. Will continue to use it till it breaks down permanently (wasn’t an inexpensive purchase for us).

I was in the same boat, but with Black Friday sales both the roborock qrevo (refurbished)and dreame l10s ultra (new) are available for $359. For that price it’s hard to justify spending 2-3x as much for a few extra features which don’t seem to make a huge difference in the actual functionality of the product. I bought a l10s ultra and hope to not think about it again for at least a couple years.

Any guesses on MSRP for the Z1? I have 2 acres and probably 1.4 acres of it to mow. I have a 60" commerical Exmark mower but I'm getting more sick of mowing by the year and yard companies want $200/week to do it, so that is a hard pass. I already have two Roborock vacs (S7 Max Ultra and Q-Revo) and have been fairly happy with them, so this would be a nice addition if the price isn't like Yarbo's pricing structure.

+1 for Roborock, the q revo series with the spinning mops and auto docks have been amazing for me. There have a few different models so I'd compare them all but we have the slim and the master and love them both. They often go on sale - I got each of them for 1k or less. I had the s7+ and the mopping was disappointing. I'd avoid any simple dragging mops.

I have a roborock revo with a dock.  The thing I don't like it that there is no setting for "go empty in the dock after x minutes" like there is for the mop. So to deal with this, I created a routine for each room individually.  It then empty after each rooms. Do that once a day, and no clogs.

I disagree. Got a roborock q revo with vac and mop, also with a station that washes and dries the mops and it is very good and helpful.

Yes! Don’t get the Curv plus it’s cheaply built and ugly. The S8 MaxV has premium materials. They are all plastic but the Curv and Q series feel flimsy.

You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol

The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
