We just got the Roborock Qrevo Pro during the Amazon sale. There are plenty of $1000+ models but I fell down a rabbit hole doing research, and the Qrevo Pro matched everything I wanted without having too many bells and whistles … and it was only $500, so I could get one for upstairs and one for downstairs. We’ve had them a few weeks and already love them. And we’ve been running them everyday with two cats and a GSD, with no dog hair entanglement issues.

Been using roborocks for a few years and they are amazing! Far better than roombas. We now have the qrevo pro and it's a game changer with the refillable tanks. We are planning to eventually get the one that you can run a water line and drain to. Check out vacuum wars on YouTube. They have very good tests and comparisons between brands.

I can't imagine not having self empty. You will absolutely love that feature. If you're sure you don't need a mop (I didn't think I needed one, but I really like it and I don't even have kids or dogs), I would look at the Roborock Q5+ duoroller or similar. I highly recommend getting a robot with lidar navigation. it works so much better than older bump and turn systems. iRobot kinda sucks these days from what I understand. You can definitely have a robot vac run in a different room while you're cleaning elsewhere. That said I think the best way to use a robot vacuum is to set it on a schedule. I have a robot on each of the two floors of my house. I have our fancier Qrevo Pro vacuum/mop the kitchen everyday and do the rest of the floor twice a week. Downstairs I have a Roborock Q7+ that vacuums the back entry way everyday and the rest of the floor twice a week

I like both of the robots, but the Qrevo Pro is more impressive and I like the mopping feature (the q7 has a mop too, but it's pretty bad-- like lightly running a wet Swiffer around). It does a much better job than I expected it to. No robot vacuum is really suited to a huge mess and they dont replace the need to pull out a real vacuum or mop once in awhile. But on the day to day they pick up a surprising amount of dust and debris

I understand that you might wonder if it’s worth it. I felt the same way but couldn’t be happier with my Roborock Q Revo Pro. I am able to clean the kitchen and bathroom floors daily. We have a Golden Retriever and not seeing the fluffs of hair that seem to show up like magic on our hard floors (laminate and tile) is so worth it. I anticipate having to get out the mop occasionally to get to those places the Roborock doesn’t but that is so much better than washing by hand. I just ordered a second one (not as fancy) for our upstairs bedroom and bath. Roborock has a 30 day return policy, as well if you don’t like it.

I think a model in the roborock q Revo line would best fit your needs~ I would recommend the Q Revo Plus (649) as it has the newfangled mop extend, a feature I appreciate since my corgi drools very close to walls and my previous robot couldn’t mop that area. If you want it to clean its mops with hot water (best suited if you cook a lot and need that grease dissolving power), I’d recommend the Q Revo Pro (799). I will say that the rubber brush is prone to tangling, which is most pronounced on the sides. Neither of the models I just mentioned have cameras so it’s good for those who are privacy conscious. Roborock’s extending side brush is not designed very well so I see complaints of it being stuck. If you want no long hair pet tangles on the roller and the side brush, you’d have to pony up a lot more for the Q Revo Curv (an ungodly 1599 USD) which is more likely to have its price fall drastically by the time you get used to it. There was also dreame I was considering but from the tests and reviews I’ve seen, it seems that roborock generally performs better with purely vacuuming the carpet and Dreame’s recent flagships can’t use the side brush on carpets.

If you want mopping, the QRevo Pro will be the best for this as it has spinning mops and will constantly clean the mops while mopping.

The QRevo Pro is a good choice if it is in your budget with discounts! I see it retails at 659 USD, which was the price I found the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra at (a dreame l40 with no mop removal which doesn’t concern you). MOVA is a dreame subbrand.

The QRevo Pro is definitely not at the same level as the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra. Discounts for robot vacuums seem to be pretty common so you could wait for another holiday and it’ll be back at the same price or lower.

The dreame L10S Pro Ultra Heat is really nice with long hair with the TriCut brush and the TriCut brush cover but will get hair tangled in the side brush but this is easily removable. QRevo Master will have hair stuck on sides of brush but all-rubber brushes are also pretty good at resisting tangles on the brush. I think the Q Revo Master would be better than this specific dreame model at obstacle avoidance but you’d still have to tidy up wires and what not as roborock likes to have the wires take off its mops for some reason.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

Nah, the MaxV actually appeared before the Pro which was launched few months later. We can't actually say older or newer, since the lineup just has different models with varying features, but they were not launched at the same time. From entry to top of the line in ascending order: Qrevo, Qrevo S, Qrevo Pro, Qrevo MaxV, Qrevo Master. Sometimes the pricing don't exactly reflect that, and some variants are not available in ervery country. It depends on local market. But the higher model has everything the lower has, plus some extra features. Flexi mop arm and hot water washing is from Pro upwards, which I consider useful for edge cleaning and better cleaning efficiency. Camera and voice assist is from MaxV upwards, which I consider gadgets that don't make the floor cleaner.

I come from an s5max, which vacuumed, but the mop only wet the floor. The aspiration of the s8, mine is basic, only with a charging base, is infinitely better. The mop cleans the floor, not to give it a 10, but a 6, compared to the 1 for the s5max. I clean the mop with detergent every time I scrub, empty the chicken and refill the tank, it's a bit tedious, but I didn't dare to buy the complete set. The design of the s8 is for the complete game, since the water and chicken tank are very small. I'm quite happy, I spend it about three times a week and I haven't gone back to work myself. I bought another roborock for my mother, the Qrevo pro set, for about €600 and it is much better than the basic s8.

Thanks. I have a Roborock Qrevo Pro right now. It's good on rugs and ok on floors. I'm considering moving the Roborock to a level that is 90% carpet and getting the S1 Pro for a level that is all floors with one area rug. If could do it over I would have gotten a less expensive vacuum only robot for the mostly carpeted level and the S1 Pro for the level with floor.

I don't see how anybody can know which models are going to hold up the longest over time. There could be some critical point of failure in a new model that won't be discovered for 2 years. Without some disassembly and analysis, how could anybody know. And regardless of the model, almost all products have bell shaped defect curve where most fail within a certain range of time, some last long, and some fail sooner. So there's also luck involved. I choose the features I want and try to not overspend to protect for the worst case scenario (i.e. early death out of warranty). I hope my Qrevo Pro lasts 4+ years. But I bought it at a price that even it it only goes 2 years I will see it as a good value After 6 months and 160 hours of cleaning time, it's still performing well. It has a couple of small quirks/bugs in the software or firmware. But none are a big deal. (As a software engineer I would like to get a look at the code and have a chance to debug some of the issues. I would also add a couple of options while I was in there. How cool would it be to open source the software!)

In terms of performance for value, the Roborock Qrevos are good. I don't have experience with other brands so there may be better options. I like the Qrevo Pro for the money. The Qrevo Master has the dual roller brush which is a little better and it the arm extends to get debris out of corners better. The Qrevo Edge has more suction and the divided brush, which I believe is even better than the and it has more suction, which may not matter much. I got the Qrevo Pro for \~$550 on sale. The Edge is about twice the price right now. I would like the extra features, but not for 2x the cost. Maybe wait until the Prime day to see if they go on sale? The Mova P10 Pro Ultra looks similar to the Qrevo Master, but it has only one roller. So maybe better than the Qrevo Pro, but not as good as the Qrevo Master? It seems to be priced about the same as the Qrevo Pro. While I like the Roborock Qrevos, I would prefer to have a robot that vacuums up dirty water and cleans the mop as it goes.

For me, the Qrevo Pro. I got mine on sale for $550. If were not on sale I would have gone for the Qrevo. When I compare the Qrevo Pro to other more expensive models, I don't see much difference in the areas that really matter for cleaning. A little better cleaning in the corners would be nice, but the extended mopping arm on the Qrevo pro is great. Auto detergent dispensing I don't really care about. Some models have "sonic" mopping. I see now evidence that this is better than the spinning mops. EDIT: The Edge appears to be similar to the Pro, but it has a larger battery, more suction, and 2 roller heads vs. one. I would take these features, but not at 2x the cost. The Qrevo Pro on sale looks like the sweet spot to me. Some things I would like: * Vacuuming up water from mopping. This will be a new feature and is likely 2-3 years away from being good enough that I want to buy it. * Significantly better carpet cleaning. This is probably not happening in a small vacuum any time soon. * A lower profile like the Slim to get under more furniture. This I may pay more for the next time I buy. Other than a lower profile to get under more furniture, I don't see anything in the more expensive models that I would really need or even want.

I’m looking forward to your Master review (if you do it)! I’ve had mine about a week now and love it. I’d say the only downside is it doesn’t have the top of the line obstacle avoidance and will plow over cords, but it still recognizes most objects very well and its vacuuming and mopping is excellent. I also found one navigation quirk that I could see most people overlooking. The carpet sensor will sometimes miss sections of carpet/rugs, and if you have the option “Vacuum Carpets First” turned on it’ll attempt to clean around all those missing sections of carpet, then fill them in last, and this can lead to doubling the cleaning time. But once it properly recognizes and maps carpets it’s very efficient. These screenshots better show what I mean. The first cleaning took about 34min and the second identical cleaning (with carpet fixed) took 17min. https://preview.redd.it/dty8lbh45ped1.jpeg?width=1936&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=4db0a17d5318484e1780b02a3790cdae4d0f7e73

I have the Qrevo Master as well and love it, but that’s pushing her budget (even at its lowest price it was $1100 before taxes). Look into the Qrevo Pro, which is $800 on Amazon after applying a $200 coupon. The Pro gets her an extending mop pad to better clean edges, a better dock, and a little more suction compared to the regular Qrevo. Id say don’t go for the regular Qrevo though, if not the Master or the Pro, get the Qrevo S. It has slightly better specs and is a littler cheaper (Roborocks lineup is super confusing). There’s some debate over the rotating mops being better than the vibrating sonic mops, but I think most people like the rotating style better.

It’s the only Qrevo with an RGB camera so I think it has to be related to that. Perhaps the camera detecting objects helps boost its avoidance in addition to the structured light sensor? I’ve noticed my Qrevo Master detects better than my previous Q8 Max+ or Qrevo Pro, but it still hardly detects cables at all. I have a corner with a pile of cables (just moved and still need to hide them) prime for the detecting that it has never noticed, but there’s a single power cable under a piece of furniture that it detects almost 100% of the time, which is so odd to me. I’ve forgotten my phone charger cords on a rug next to my couch a couple times and it’s never detected those either. But most dog toys, my floor fan pedestal, and a few other objects it very reliably detects.

There is no robot with perfect obstacle avoidance, it’s technically impossible to ever get this right as there is very little difference between something small enough to vacuum up, and something that can jam a robot. Companies should stop marketing their robots as such. It’s your responsibility as a robot owner to scan your room before you start the routine. I have a qrevo pro and toddlers just like you. It takes me about a minute to scan my floors for rings, cords, other small plastic toys, then I don’t have any issues.

It's a louder vaccuming robot, but I find it cleaning the carpets much better than the roborock qrev pro. The navigation takes some time to improve and learn the layout of my home. Self-emptying is very loud and sounds like a big fart..twice.. once when it starts and another one when it funishes.. Cleaning/drying of the mop pad takes hours to finish and also very noisy. I like that it makes a bigger effort in terms of climbing over legs of furnitures to get to the crooks and nannies as much as possible. However, it can also scratch and dent them more over time. I dont have delicate/fragile/expensive furnitures so that is not an issue to me. What i really wish it has is seeing where my roomba is at in the app. I guess it's another shortcoming of lacking lidar. Comptemplating to return it...

I was the other user that has had a bad experience, but perhaps it is just my furniture design/house design! The Mova is a really premium feeling unit and the app is really not as hard as people say it is IMO..... but it is also true that some of the functions straight up did not work when I set it up... like vacuum first then mop. It vacuumed and then mopped the carpet even though I could see hash marks where there was carpet detected. When I first ran it on auto map/then do the first cleaning it also mopped my carpets. The roborock automatically and without any fiddling did everything perfectly on its own. My Mova may be defective. If I dont end up keeping the roborock I will probably get a replacement and post a update. The roborock qrevo pro just works 100% of the time with no issues other than a chair I have with thin flat support bar it gets stuck on so it is temping to just keep the qrevo pro and return everything else.

Ignore what everyone wrote here. No one knows what they are talking about. What you need is a robot with cameras and flash and lidars on the front so it can avoid everything in the path. All the models listed here are wrong. What you need in my opinion is a maxV model from roborock (they are a bit more expensive but for a reason). They have one of the best avoidance system. They get discounted heavily during sales like prine day, black friday etc. MaxV is the name u want. You could get the Q revo pro or Q revo MaxV wich is a bit more than you probably would pay but it mops the floor as well and that means you can go weeks without having to mop yourself. Some dreame vacuums also perform well. Please avoid roomba and other american mainstream models, they are a decade behind (sadly) to chinese brands like roborock and dreame. Another thing: on youtube there is a huge community with all kinds of pets and kids-tests with obstacles with every model on earth so you can see it yourself what will work for you

I had the Roborock Qrevo Pro and it vacuumed well and emptied itself. I ended up taking it back because, though vacuuming is part of the priority, the main priority is mopping for me. The Roborock doesn't actually pick up the mopping water, so basically just pushing around what it already mopped until it gets back to its station to clean itself. So in areas like my laundry room with tile the dirt would catch on the edges of the tile leaving a residue that made the floor looking dirtier than it was previously. I've done a bunch of research, and I will be getting a eufy with the Hydrojet system. I have 6 dogs (2 of which are Great Pyrenees), so there's LOTS of hair, but my rumba does an ok job with that when it works more than once a day. BUT the dogs also bring in icky paws at times, so I really want a robot one that cleans and sucks up its dirty water and continuing to clean with fresh water. The eufy's fit the bill. I currently have a CrossWave cordless max wet dry vac, which cleans with fresh water and vacuuming up the dirty water, and though it's not a robot it provides the type of clean floors that I'm looking for in a robot vac as well. The eufy was the only one that I saw that operated in this way.

Between Eufy and Roborock I would go with Roborock; I dont have the qrevo curve [https://amzn.to/45aV6Z4](https://amzn.to/45aV6Z4) but I have the Qrevo Pro; except the size of it I love everything else: [https://amzn.to/3ZbZ67X](https://amzn.to/3ZbZ67X) When i bought it if I had the option I would have go for curve too as it would be sleeker. Hello! I have posted this before.. but I am a dog owner as well and here is my tested recommendation So I have 2 dogs, both shed a lot and get a lot of mud from our yard and generally where I live is quite rainy so all after the rain the dogs do get the floor dirty Because of this I absolutely needed a mop and of course vaccum for hair and carpet as well. I use Roborock (https://amzn.to/48YmUPv) and have been quite satisfied. By the time I clean them after their mud fiasco the roborock is able to mop off mud and wet dirt off the floor. I can also just clean a small area that has dirt and get the robovac to the dock again and all this with the app which is super helpful. Tried and tested for pets: I had linked the Roborock qrevo: [https://amzn.to/4jZ2wCU](https://amzn.to/4jZ2wCU) ; . I like it for its parts and as I mentioned I clean every 2-3 days only Qrevo is great too and I have seen it work pretty well! [https://amzn.to/42ZmAyb](https://amzn.to/42ZmAyb) I also block some high wire areas in the app so I am guessing you can do so for your carpet if needed. I prefer it's self cleaning as it helps me use the mop or vacuum twice a day if needed too and then I just empty it out when full. Generally I am a heavy user and with that I empty the dock station every 3 days. I suggest roborock also because of its spare parts are generally easily available by other companies and I get them and keep in bulk. When the brush gets too tangled I just change it and it's not that big of a lift. This is my second roborock and I do stand by the brand. First one lasted me 4 years with 1 dog and I am hoping this one lasts me well too!

Ok, kind of similar to me then haha... You might want something with a camera for the toys, I have a Roborock QRevo Edge and I'm pretty happy with it, but it's quite recent and many features might be overkill (threshold climbing, etc). Depending on budget obviously, you might want a slimmer version, or something cheaper like the QRevo Pro which has the most useful features, but no camera. You'll probably want to move the toys a bit though as even if it avoided them, it would be cleaning less uniformly. https://global.roborock.com/pages/robot-vacuum-cleaner-compare Not sure how Israel is with current models, but many of those might be missing like in Canada, but found this comparison tool a good first step in my shopping comparison within their models. Not an expert in other companies, but others might have ideas and experiences. :)

I have it. I like it. It’s also my first Roborock though. Can get a bit loud when mopping/vacuuming. Doesn’t bother me though. It’s a bit loud when it goes thru tile vertical floors. Because of the way the shape is( when it drives horizontal) this gets fixed when you change the settings in the app. (But still a bit loud) Other than that, dudes running daily. 2 times a day.

Yeah there are for sure a lot of models and features to keep up with for these robots, especially considering a flagship model last year was $1800 with worse features than a basic $350 model today. Vacuums wars certainly gives every match the best review but it seemingly forgets ownership so I take his reviews with a grain of salt. RTINGS seems to have an opposite issue but I still value their objective measurements. Overall id say stick with roborock or dreame. Roborock has the nicest app and experience, while dreame (imo) is the best for mopping despite its app being a little tacky and poorly translated. At that price point I'd try and go for the roborock q revo pro. It has advanced mopping features like hot water & turbidity sensor and the mop leggy but doesn't have expensive features like a lifting main brush or camera obstacle avoidance. The other great option is the dreame l10s ultra pro. It also has hot water, turbidity sensor, and a mop leggy, but also has a camera avoidance system, which is... Okay in my experience. Not as good as the more expensive robots. If you don't need advanced obstacle avoidance or advanced vacuum features (leaving mops behind, dual roller, lifting roller) then I'd get one of those two. I personally own a dreame l10s ultra (and trialed it against a roborock q revo, which didn't work as well in my mopping situations). There are other minor differences between the two but they're able to be overcome. Dreame also has an excellent hair cutting roller brush available for their cheaper robots. Both brands sell their 1st part accessories on AliExpress for far cheaper than Amazon. Good luck & enjoy.

So I bought a q revo and dreame l10s and compared them directly and ended up keeping the l10s because it seems to do a better job of mopping (and is willing to mop in skinnier areas of my hard floor around rugs). I don't mind the worse app with dreame, it's completely usable and reliable, just with weird translations. I genuinely like the roborock carpets first feature but I don't miss it with scheduling. If you can afford the l40 ultra, that's what I would buy for the best features (hot water mop washing, self cleaning washboard, water turbidity sensor, mop extend & lifting brush, hair cutting roller). How much more expensive are the premier q revo models in your area (the master, slim, edge, curv)? If theyre the same price (or you can afford the slight increase) I'd get those for the best of both worlds: premier features and the superior roborock app.

I just got a Roborock Qrevo Pro on sale ($600 down from $1100). It vacuums, mops, self empties, and self cleans the mop pads all on its own. I can't understate how nice it is to have vacuumed, mopped floors when I wake up every day. If you look at reviews, it's supposedly not the best at picking up dog hair but it's been great for me and I have no complaints.

I have had the Q Revo Pro for a few days. It is my first robot vacuum. It is amazing. My first floor is mainly tile or vinyl flooring. My house looks clean all the time now. I have 3 big dogs who just ignore the robot. When I vacuum or sweep, my dogs will come "out of the woodwork" just to sit in front of me. I highly recommend the device just on this point alone. The mapping was a little overwhelming at first but I mastered it and it easily will clean the house while I am off doing something else. The noise is not bad at all. I can work in my office while it is cleaning the floor which surprised me. I will never live without a robot vacuum after this. What the heck was I waiting for??? I can highly recommend the Roborock Q Revo Pro.

I recently purchased a QRevo Master and Pro during Black Friday. I replaced a Roomba J7+. I’m fairly happy with the mopping functionality but the obstacle avoidance is…a fraction as good. I assumed with all the tech and AI it would be better or at most marginally worse. But it’s really night and day. The J7 was excellent at avoiding even the smallest out of place objects, a sock, a cord, etc. I know commenters will say to just keep things off the floor. But I bought these things to vacuum when I’m out of the house. The was great with the j7. Everything just feels clean when you get back. These Roborocks on the other hand will just pick up any loose object and drag it around for 30 minutes. A sock, a shirt, a small box. Also if you happen to be walking around while it’s running the vacuums will bump into your feet repeatedly. I’ve seen some discussion of this, but reviewers like vacuum wars still give these a 4.7 for obstacle avoidance. I would say it’s like a 3 at best. I’ve also seen some discussion of it being better on previous firmware versions. I’m curious if that’s true. I’m hoping I can be optimistic a software update could improve this. It seems like the hardware should be more than capable, but it’s just not stacking up right now

For our 1400 sq foot house with 2 cats, the Qrevo pro has been a godsend for us. We run it 6 days a week and our floors are nearly spotless (LVP and a few rugs). Twice a month we do a full vacuum to get into the hard to reach areas the robot can’t access and once a month we do a full manual mop with a bucket. The mop water is rarely dirtier than a light light brown.

I bought a Qrevo Pro 2 weeks ago for $659. It's amazing on our hardwood & tile floors. I'm extremely pleased with it. It's currently on sale for $619. I understand $600 is the very, very top of your budget, but for a tiny stretch, you could get one of the better mopping 'bots on the market with an extending mop pad, hot water pad washing, and mopping dirt detection. I am definitely biased having recently purchased, but after too much research I feel it's one of the most capable & well-reviewed mopping bots at that price point. IMHO, it has most of the more useful features of the high-end models for half the price.

I can at least help with some of the Qrevo’s based on my own research I’ve been doing for this sale. Like you, I was replacing an older Roborock and didn’t want to go too high but still wanted some nice features. I ended up focusing on the Qrevo S, Qrevo Plus, and Qrevo Pro. They all are very similar, same 7000 pa suction, same 10mm mop pad lift, same object avoidance tech (which tbh isn’t that great from the reviews I’ve seen but I usually pick objects up that could get caught so it doesn’t bother me), mostly same dock capability with auto empty/mop pad washing and drying. The differences are with the mopping and they are minor but it depends how much you value the features that would be included. Qrevo S: The base model, everything as described as above Qrevo Plus: adds the flexible mop arm that offers better edge cleaning Qrevo Pro: adds the flexible mop arm AND has hot water mop pad washing and intelligent dirt detection that can sense when the mop pads are dirtier than normal and will wash them extra If it was based solely on just sale price, I would have gotten the Plus for myself. I value having the flexible mop arm to get the most coverage possible. But I was able to get a Pro for an even better deal through Target with coupons so that’s the one I went with. I’ve seen that the hot water wash and intelligent dirt detection are a little gimmicky, but ultimately it was primarily about the mop arm for me and I chose the Pro because I could get it for a better price. Hope this helps!

Yeah, I thought about getting one with a camera since it was indicated to be better (but variable) and I just went with a Qrevo Pro knowing that if it ever hits a solid animal mess it will be bad. It seems like some of the other systems out there are better at this sort of thing but I'm glad I didn't spend extra for the vision system if it fails that way. I don't really understand why this is so hard to solve, especially with a structured light system. Look for things that stick up above the surface a certain height and skip those things. Color vision should be able to make that better, perhaps not perfect. Pet waste of a certain size seems like it shouldn't be crazy.. cords might be harder. Are there any that are pretty bulletproof?

The obstacle avoidance works better on hard floors than carpets which is why most people that review on YouTube praise the Master. They never test it on carpet. Out of all the Qrevo models the Slim has the best object avoidance due to the inclusion of the front facing lidar. No robot on the market is perfect and the real weakness with Roborock is with object avoidance mostly with cords. With that said it accels with dependability, overall performace, near perfect navigation and has the best app on the market. Here is how I tested the Master and the full results of the object avoidance test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNNffT9q_jc&t=292s

It is a very basic system which has not improved much from when it was released which is a hardware limitation. I find the reason you often get mixed reviews has more to do with a lack of understanding of object avoidance which is only designed to pickup and avoid items on the floor that are lower than the lidar on the decklid. You can see the Pro (which has the exact same Reactive Tech object avoidance as the old Q Revo and the Qrevo S) can only really avoid the cup which all robots even with no object avoidance are able to do [in my latest review video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSMqTKFj-aQ&t=74s). I always recommend picking up before sending any robot out. If object avoidance is very important the S8 Series is a good bit better than the Q series. [In my review of the S8 MaxV Ultra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmWjtQRcG4s&t=444s) you can see how much better it performed than the Qrevo Pro and even the Qrevo MaxV which lacks additional sensors found on the S8 MaxV. If you have pets that have accidents in your house do not rely on a Q Revo to avoid it.

I didn’t get the S8Max V Ultra because of one simple reason: my floors are rustic open pore uneven tiles (pretty to look at but not easy for the mopping system, which led me since the beginning to lean toward the rotating mops. I bought the S8 Pro Ultra right when it came out, and still use it in other more forgivable areas. I tried the Q Revo Max V, The Q Revo Pro… I personally found them both lacking in the vacuum area… they both have a mopping flexi arm but not vacuuming flexi arm! Which for me was extra important. I have 3 dogs, 4 cats and work from home, very heavy traffic all the time. I find having both flexi arms a life saver. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect, but very close in my opinion!

I bought the Q Revo two months ago and kept it for a month. When the Pro version came out, I returned the Revo and purchased the Pro. It's a fantastic vacuum (I upgraded from the S7; I've also owned a Roomba). For me, the Pro was worth the extra cost because of the flexible mop. The regular Q Revo can't get within a few inches of the edge of a wall, and for me, that was important. No other noticeable differences between the two models for me besides the flexi mop. I know the pro has more suction, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me because my house is 90% hardwood.

I'm on my 4th Roborock The S4 Max. Q5 Pro, Q8 Max and Qrevo Pro which all have lidar navigation and none has ever failed. I watch these forums closely and have notg seen anybody complaining about lidar failure. The top cover of the lidar navigation is actually a button that gets pressed down if a vacuum tries going under someplace where it won't fit such as a couch. Narwal is fairly new to the scene and I have not used their vacuums. I know one thing that I don't like about them is the vacuums don't have on board water tank so if you want to take it to a different floor to mop all you have is the moisture that is on the mop, no tank to replenish the water.

The q revo master has been doing pretty well at avoiding cables. Sometimes the mop gets stuck and the mount comes off but a lot less than my s7. Vacuum wars on YouTube also rated it the highest for avoidance with AI and its cameras

yeah you're right hair tangling isn't much of an issue even when i hand-held vacuum, just hair clogging and lots of lumps... matter-enabled is an IoT standard, but it's not a deal breaker, it means, in the future, i'll be able to control the vacuum using Apple HomeKit (dreame, roborock all support this standard). aha, yeah i keep hearing good things about this qrevo mop, and tracking in dirt is an issue for me (but also all this hair since there's 2 of them).. i'll add one vote to the **Q Revo Master** thanks!!

It’s definitely a very interesting proposition price-wise vs the s8 max ultra. My experience so far has been nothing but excellent. It has a slightly inferior object avoidance system (never been an issue for me) and a lower mop rise (10mm vs 20mm) which again has been non issue with my rug set-up.

Some is better than nothing at all. Their MaxV models have the strongest object avoidance, and benefit the most from updates as well. I recommend watching the latest VacuumWars video on the Q Revo Master, and he actually apologizes because he originally said the Q Revi max v wasn't worth it due to the bad object avoidance. However he learned there was an update, and after that it was a night and day difference. It's no different to any other computer, first couple months or so are always the toughest. After an update or two they are significantly better.

UPDATE: Thanks for all of your great comments. After (more or less) confirming that the Q Revo MaxV and the Q Revo Master have the very similar hardware, and that they both use "Reactive AI," I could not find any logical reason why the Q Revo Master would be so much better than the Q Revo MaxV at Obstacle Avoidance (10 to 4 in our tests) So... I decided to update the firmware on my Q Revo MaxV, as it has been a few months since I tested it (the firmware was updated from version 02.30.38 to 02.33.02). The results were amazing. The Q Revo MaxV got 8, not as good as the master but WAY better than the previous test. It changes a lot in terms of how I rank the latest Roborocks, Ill do a video on it soon.

I’ve just got the qrevo master and it has issues with shag pile like this , I think the ai believe it’s an object to avoid so it spins, Ive turned the camera on and it sees long strands so I’m assuming it thinks it’s an obstacle, with avoidance off it actually works , but it still struggles and you can see it get stuck a lot and tug itself free, The side brush gets stuck sometimes too, honestly I love my big fluffy rugs but if I want a robot I’m going to have to replace with shorter piled ones.

I live with 3 girls with long hair, 3 cats and a Bernese mountain dog so I can relate with this 100%. I have to maintain the robot regularly, releasing hairs from the main roller and extending brush weekly. The time I spend maintaining it is a lot less than what I’d spend vacuuming and cleaning so it’s no big deal. 5 minutes a week is nothing. I do wish the small wheel was removable so I could clean it and free it of hair instead of cutting in and around it but beyond that it’s all good (QRevo master)

Agreed. Qrevo Master's obstacle avoidance is absolute trash. It may as well not exist at all. I had Narwal Freo Z Ultra before this and I kind of regret returning that and getting this. The only thing I hated about the Narwal was not having an onboard water tank and not having extending floor sweeping arm, but obstacle avoidance on it was top notch. Never got stuck on anything. Qrevo is so dumb in comparison. Even if it detects something, it will still push it around because it has no clue where the obstacle exactly is. Having to get all the cords, objects off the ground is no different to what I was doing when I was using 1st gen xiaomi robot vac. I ran the vacuum this morning after I left and made sure to clean up everything from the floor but somehow this damn thing got something stuck in its main brush. Seriously frustrated with this product.

Agreed. I’ve not been impressed with the obstacle avoidance on small items/objects. But I have nothing to compare it to. My previous vacuum was a roomba that didn’t even have wifi. It’s weird though. I watched my QRevo Master correctly identify a baby bib on the floor as an obstacle. It marked it on the map and went around it. I was impressed. But then on another pass it turned toward the bib while it was already close to it and I guess it was too low for the camera to see so it removed the obstacle from the map and went right over it. I hope it gets better with firmware updates.

Not entirely sure tbh, I didn't do any kind of dedicated or no-go zones - I just let it loose and move anything out of the way that I think may be a problem or that I simply want to clear the floor so it cleans that area (shoes, a cable, etc.). I'd assume that even if something is mapped, it still runs detection and will clean the area that is now 'clear' but used to be 'occupied'.

I used it for a few weeks and it was really great! I returned it and bought the QRevo Master and the performance is very similar. The mop doesn’t lift as high which could be an issue depending on rugs/carpets in your home. The object avoidance has been roughly the same as well, no issues aside from one cord and even the s8 maxv had an issue with it as well. Vacuuming/mopping is excellent on both models with no noticeable difference. Both were able to complete my torture tests with 100% efficiency 😂

For others arriving late, we got the Qrevo Master to wrangle the hair from our two golden retrievers. It does great on the hard floors, but leaves small clumps of hair on the fuzzy mid-height area rugs we have (as FairneasDoctrine11 mentioned above). Our best guess is that the hair is hanging up on the mop heads, then getting pulled off them when Rocky starts on the rug. So we have to vacuum those after Rocky finishes, which kinda defeats the purpose of a robot vacuum! It's definitely keeping our house cleaner with less effort overall, but that includes our manual labor. 😩

I have had to improvise two ramps in my home for our S8s. It was easy to do and they even look pretty good. If you are creative, this will not be a problem. The shape of your apartment will not make a difference. Both moving around your house and mopping consume very little battery power. The single biggest power requirement is vacuuming. I always tell anyone who asks me what to get to start with a basic, charging dock only S8 for $350 and learn how it works and how to use it to your advantage. Then get something fancier later on. You will be very glad you have the S8 when you buy a fancy one from any manufacturer and find out how mediocre they are at vacuuming. Then, like our own Saros 10R, the fancy one will be relegated to mopping only while the S8 (in our case, two of them) does all the vacuuming. A happy balance between the S8 and the Saros 10R is the Qrevo Master. This does not apply to any other Qrevo model!!!!!!!!! It is not as fully automated as the Saros 10R, but it is still fairly automated and has the rear spinning mops. And it is the only Qrevo model that retains the vacuuming module of the S8 for excellent vacuuming. My neighbor bought one and she loves it! If I wanted to buy another robovac right now, it would be the Qrevo Master. I wish I would have known about it when I bought our Saros 10R. It would fit our needs much better and costs $700 less than the Saros 10R. I hope this helps! One more thought... All the manufacturers and review sites test their robovacs with cereal, coffee grounds and other household items loosely sprinkled on various surfaces. This stuff is easy to pick up. The real test is if you leave this stuff on the ground for half of a week and let it get well trampled into your rugs and carpets. Then test the robovacs!!! This is the real world testing I use in our home with very heavy foot traffic, people with long hair, cats, a litter box and constant dirt and debris being tracked through our home.

We have a pair of base model S8s ($350 each) with only charging docks, and a Saros 10R ($1500). I can easily live without my Saros 10R. Losing an S8 would be tragic! The 10R is very impressive and very automated in every area except vacuuming on rugs and carpets. It is a mediocre vacuum cleaner at best. It does not vacuum any better than a cheap Home Depot off-the-shelf model. The S8s are vacuuming monsters on rugs and carpets. Our house gets lots of foot traffic, there are people with long hair and two cats and a litter box. Everything gets trampled into the rugs and carpets. The S8s were life changers. The Saros 10R has become a very fancy and expensive mop. If you only have hard floors, almost anything will work and do a decent job. This gives you much more flexibility. I would recommend a compromise since you might end up with carpets. The Qrevo Master ($800) offers the spinning mops of more modern and fancier models. It has a very automated but not super automated dock that does most things but not all of them. More importantly, it keeps the dual roller vacuum module of the S8s for excellent vacuuming. The down side is that you will have to spend about two minutes doing some very easy maintenance on it occasionally. It also does not have the extending side mops and it isn't as slim at a Saros. I really wish I would have purchased a Qrevo Master over our Saros 10R. Our neighbor has one and it is fantastic. It would have served my needs much better than the Saros 10R and I could have saved $700. Expectations are the biggest issues new robovac owners have to overcome. For $1500 we want a miracle! No robovac can do everything, none of them are perfect, and there are no miracles. A $350 robovac will change your life completely. The extra $1150 will just get you a little bit more. But a fancier, automated robovac will not necessarily clean better. All robovacs can do is handle about 90% of your floor cleaning needs. They cannot do everything no matter how fancy and how expensive they are. But 90% is a lot and you will be amazed at the results! There is also a learning curve. One has to learn how to use them for their strengths and overcome their weaknesses. Because of all of this, I always suggest people start with a $350 model. They are truly amazing! Save the $1150 for the next robovac once more improvements have been made in a year or two and you know how to use one and what to expect. All robovacs, no matter how fancy and how expensive, are very primitive machines. They look and feel complex. But they just are not. Lastly, the only reason to consider the fancy new navigation systems is if there might be pet waste in your home. If a robovac cannot avoid this mess, it will become a disaster. Lidar navigation is really good. The fancier, newer systems are very slightly better at obstacle avoidance, but they are not perfect either. Lidar works great and is very, very reliable. Unless you have to worry about pet waste or similar messes, there is no reason to even consider a navigation system beyond lidar. There is no additional benefit. I hope this helps!

Same thing happened with me on the dirty water! I used to think that I only wanted a realllllly good vacuum from a robot vacuum. Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back. The S8 also has a pad attached to the back, but includes a scrubbing motion via a plate that vibrates at a high speed. It's better than the Q5 and Q8. The best mopping will be on the Qrevo and Eufy X10. They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock. Of the last two, each has its strengths and weaknesses. The X10 will be better at obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo is a Roborock, which has a better reputation for quality and reliability than the Eufy, and is also rated a little better than the Eufy at a lot of things: vacuuming performance, mopping performance, etc. It also can swing out one of its mop pads for better edge and corner cleaning, something the Eufy can't do. In some cases, obstacle avoidance is really critical, in which case I'd recommend the Eufy. Otherwise, the Qrevo is likely your best bet.

At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.

I have a Roborock Q Revo in our 2 adult household and love it. I sweep out the corners occasionally since a round vacuum obviously can’t get into a 90 degree corner, but I don’t have to vacuum or mop anymore unless I just want to. My MIL also bought the same model, and they have three dogs in their home. One of whole sheds A LOT. He’s a corgi/lab mix and blows coat like a dandelion. It keeps up with all their hair, just needs more frequent dust bag replacements. It is so worth buying the right kind and getting a quality robot vacuum/mop. The cheap ones simply aren’t worth it. My father has a roomba (to excuse himself from ever actually cleaning) and it is awful. It will run over the same piece of hair multiple times without picking it up and then straight up avoid a certain dirty spot on the floor repeatedly. It runs on a random track of going until it bumps into something and then goes a different direction. He has also had problems with the batteries crapping out constantly and needing replaced because the capacity deteriorates so badly. The Roborock goes in a pattern; first does a perimeter sweep then goes in a grid pattern of vertical then horizontal rows. The Roborock takes floor plans of your house so you can select individual rooms for cleaning. There is a spot cleaning feature as well where you can drop a box to enclose a specific area that needs cleaned. You can set up scheduled for it to keep your house maintained and ignore it beyond weekly maintenance. I dump dirty water, fill the clean water, and wash mop heads once a week. I love it and would never buy anything else. Especially a Roomba.

Got the same one, for 400€ it's great! Navigation is awesome but it indeed just won't detect cables… The ones that can automatically search for your pet and allow you to see it while further controlling the robot remotely are pretty cool, but it's not really a big deal to not have that feature.

I got it set up once, but the only options were basically to start (clean the whole house) or to stop. No ability to clean just a room, or to change the cleaning type. I just went to uninstall and reinstall, and now I can't even get it set up. When I try, I get a message "No device found within your Roborock account".

I absolutely love my Q Revo. I bought it with intentions of it being supported by Valetudo, but honestly… the app works, the HA integration works. I have a geofence that runs the full vac/mop when I leave in AM thru HA. I trigger a night mop of kitchen at 1am via HA. I have automations that notify on the TV when the buckets need to be filled/dumped. I’m planning to 3D print replacement buckets with auto fill and dump — this is my only issue… needs that water and dumping based on size of house and how often you run the mop.

If I were buying today, I would focus on one that fills/dumps the water automatically. I have the Roborock Q Revo and it is solid… I just have to dump/fill the tanks after about three mops. I’ve got all the parts in my Amazon cart to automate this. My hesitancy has been about how much automation/metering do I want and how much safety net do I want!!

Just an observation, doesn't mean it's not easy or doable. Just means it's not plug & play in terms of what that actually means. Plug & play means in this case that you add the vacuum to HA and it immediately fetches all available information including created routines. All you then need to do is to show that information on a card for example. Just pointing out what the term means. Looks like it requires a bit of effort to get going, which doesn't mean it's going to be hard, but it means it's not p&p. Apologies for the seemingly snarky remark.

I bought a new roborock qrevo with mop function last year from Costco and we used nightly (have a messy toddler) and the lidar stopped working after 6 months. Emptying the dirty mop wear container was also terrible as it smelled terrible! The auto empty would also jam regularly. My parents have an old roborock s3 I believe that’s 7-8 years old. It was one of the first ones with a mop function and they never use the mop function. There’s works great. So I’m not sure if the mop function really does work for longevity purposes.

To really get value out of a robotic vacuum the key is to not buy the cheapest or second cheapest option. Get a vacuum with radar or LiDAR with room mapping. I have a Roborock QRevo with the mop option and I really, really like it. I’m able to map rooms, even on different floors, control both vacuum and mopping levels, and easily fence off areas and objects including setting up custom cleaning routines for a room or multiple rooms. Whereas I also have the base model Roomba and it only vacuums and crashes about my house like a drunken fool. It has very limited radar sense and relies on bumpers to “feel” its way around. I’m not saying no to the Roomba brand only that a cheap base model of any brand has big drawbacks. You can often find really good deals for Roborock on Amazon. Just use camel camel camel to price watch and alert you.

I was in the same boat, but with Black Friday sales both the roborock qrevo (refurbished)and dreame l10s ultra (new) are available for $359. For that price it’s hard to justify spending 2-3x as much for a few extra features which don’t seem to make a huge difference in the actual functionality of the product. I bought a l10s ultra and hope to not think about it again for at least a couple years.

I have a Q Revo that I'm not the happiest with (not great suction, mopping is decent, and obstacle avoidance is terrible) and like you, I was planning on replacing it with an S8... until I saw the Kickstarter for the S1 Pro and instantly backed it. Seems to address all of my complaints and can't beat the price ($899!). I plan on doing a review when I get it next month.

I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. Another thing is, with the eufy if you spill something, or just want to do a cleaning after cooking something, it's super simple and quick to just walk over to the base, press the play button and have it do a quick run. With my Q Revo I have to go find my phone, open the app, select a mode, and then click start. It's more involved and requires enough steps that I often forget to do it until later on. What I think the eufy needs that would help a lot with really stuck on stains though, is a deep mopping mode where it increases water usage. I suspect that will likely get added with a future update. Regarding the non-lifting vacuum roller, from all of the reviews I've seen it doesn't really get dirty unless it goes over a wet mess that has chunks in it like tomato sauce. But even then, from the reviews where I've seen it pickup freshly spilled milk, peanut butter, etc., the only thing that left (a minor amount of) residue on the vacuum roller was the tomato sauce chunks. Jamie Andrews review will be out in a few days and I'm hoping he tested this more.

Jamie Andrews replied to someone else in this thread saying that his review will be out in the coming days, so we have that to look forward to. I commented above with a counterpoint as to why really stuck on stains aren't super realistic though. I'll repost that here in case you didn't see it: >I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. I suspect that will likely get added with a future update. Another good thing with the eufy and its roller mop, is that it also cleans much, much faster than other robovacs since it doesn't have to ever go back and wash the mops. I've seen a few reviewers mention it doing a full clean almost 2x faster than other botvacs. This stood out to me because sometimes I'll put off running my Q Revo solely because I know it can take a while and is loud, which is annoying to hear going for a long time while I'm in the room... and then I forget to run a cleaning session after. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Haha well that's more of a me problem because of my ADHD/ADD. If I don't immediately go get my phone when a spill happens, open the app, switch modes to only do "Kitchen", and start a cleaning, I'll completely forget about it until hours later. Even worse, sometimes I WILL go get my phone, but then get distracted by a notification or text, reply to it, and then lock my phone... without starting the cleaning! 😂 With the S1 Pro's base being at arm level and right between my kitchen/living room, I'd pass it when leaving the kitchen and could easily tap the play button to have it clean everywhere since it has great obstacle avoidance. It seems minor, but the simplicity of that one step process with a physical button and no distractions is perfect for someone like me. With the Q Revo's terrible terrible obstacle avoidance, I can't just open the app and click the big start button without first pre-cleaning and removing any cables from the ground so it doesn't get caught on them (it broke a lamp by doing this before). It's overall a more involved process that I often will put off until later... and forget about lol.

I agree, I have no idea why they’re using such an inferior system on their most expensive bot. Seems a bit lazy of them to not try and innovate like Eufy did. That was me in the Discord, by the way. :) My Q Revo was visibly making my white tile floors looks dingy and dull even with daily 2x mopping using their detergent with max water usage and frequent mop washing. For the past 3 weeks the S1 water has been very dark, but now it’s finally starting to lighten up and the floors look brighter than they ever have before. I truly have never been so impressed.

I'd say you could do even less than u/thisisreadonly2 suggested. I've had my S1 Pro for a month now have done the bare minimum: rinsed off the dirty water tank filter once, rinsed the mop tray twice, and I just cleaned out the vacuum filter today. I've never cleaned out the dirty water tank or even felt the need to since it hasn't developed any nasty smells (the ozonated water really does work at sanitizing!). Same goes for the roller mop, I've looked at it a few times over the past few weeks and it also still looks brand new, so I've never felt the need to clean it myself. Compared to my Q Revo, this is proving to have far less maintenance needed and I honestly abuse this thing lol. This past weekend I had friends over and a few open cans of beer/white claw got knocked over. I put the S1 on the lowest suction (to prevent any liquid from getting sucked into the dustbin, worked great) and it cleaned up all of the spilled drinks perfectly with zero stickiness on the floors. I seriously love this thing.

I'm not sure what is actively considered a top vacuum but something I've learned the hard way is to make sure the robot has a setting to empty the dustbin periodically or else it will go through a whole run, then try to empty the dustbin and the charging station will get clogged trying to suck the large clump of hair into the dust bag. I have a qrevo and really love the robot but the fact roborock doesn't currently have an option to empty the dustbin every 100 sqft or so, means that I have had to set up separate schedules for each room so it goes back to the dock to empty the dustbin between each room. It's frustrating.

I've done a lot of research these past few days and ended up buying a Q Revo (just arrived actually, about to set it up) - but that was mainly because it was on sale and a lot cheaper than the Dreame equivalent (which would be the L10s Ultra). They seem about the same. The Roborock having a better app experience and the Dreame being better at avoiding obstacles. Keep in mind they were both startups funded by Xiaomi really. But yeah, from what I've read people do complain a bit more about Dreame but in general they actually seem very solid. I did factor in that in my country Roborock is still a lot more common so getting bags and the like might be easier.

I have a Q Revo and run 5 days per week and mop 2 days per week. The waste water tank has a bit of sludge when I dump it into the toilet. I rinse it with fresh water and put it back into the base station. If I had my old dogs, I'd vacuum first and mop second on the same frequency. That way, most of the actual dirt goes into the bag, not into the waste water tank. Dumping the water and rinsing the tank is not a big deal. Floor is very clean. One thing I really appreciate is the removable tray in the base station where the bot rests when emptying the first, waste water and cleaning the mop pads. That has to be cleaned. Since it's removable it's easy to clean. If it wasn't removable I'd have to get on my hands and knees to clean

This is cool, but I'm not sure how useful it is. Maybe instead of simply positive or negative, it could drill down into more specific, e.g. "Good for pets?", "Good for carpets", "Easy to maintain", "Easy to use app" etc. For example, the obstacle avoidance in the Q Revo which has the highest rating here is pretty terrible. It will easily drive through pet waste spreading it all over your home and basically destroying the robot. I have two Q Revos, but no pets :)

I had the Ecovacs X1 Omni and it was a good mop/vacuum overall but the software drove me crazy to the point where I had to return it. I have a Roborock QX Revo now, and the software is way better. I haven't done a side by side to test which was better at cleaning but the Ecovacs either had a way larger battery or used less battery because I used to use it on my second floor (all carpet, except the two washrooms) and would do the 3 bedrooms with two passes and the rest only one pass and it still had battery left. Setting up the Roborock the same way with the same suction setting, I can't even finish the entire floor with one pass everywhere.

As a qrevo owner, I'd get that if you aren't willing or able to find a spot for the auto drain then I'd either reduce the amount of cleaning (or do it when you're not at home). That said spinning heads are very good at mopping and I make sure not to put stuff around since it will get stuck at a left over cable.

Hi all, I’d like to know, is the Reactive AI (with rgb camera) actually much better than ReactiveTech? At the moment I have a Q Revo and it’s quite good, it is able to avoid most of the the objects in my house. But it struggles particularly with “low and flat“ objects. In particular this one, which is similar to a U shaped chair: https://preview.redd.it/suvutwjl6wne1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f064284593fd32eeb31bffbcf7a05b6278d1d89 He tries to climb over, got stuck, then turns back and so on, a mess… Do you think Reactive AI robots like Curv, Edge, Slim or the new Saros could handle this? Can they recognize the obstacle (taking a photo) and maybe you can tell the robot to avoid it at all?

Q Revo has the spinning mop pads and lifts them automatically during carpet cleaning.

More than a vacuum without a dirty water tank, but really not that much. I can’t say I feel a noticeable difference in the time I spend on it compared to the Q Revo and J7 I had before. There are more parts, but the vacuum is designed quite well, so all remove/replace operations are easy. The house is mopped 3x a week and vacuumed 5x/week. This is what I do every weekend: - Empty and rinse the dock dirty water tank, fill the clean water tank, put both back. - Remove the vacuum from the dock. Take out and rinse the mop washing tray. - Take off the top cover. Take out dust bin, bang out the filter, rinse both and leave out to dry. - Take out the dirty water tank, remove the main filter and three small filter plugs, rinse all out and leave out to dry. Flip the vacuum upside down. - Take out the vacuum brush, remove hair from both ends, rinse and leave out to dry - Slide off the mop roller, rinse and leave out to dry - Remove side brushes, remove hair tangles, put back on - After a few hours of drying time, reassemble everything. I also plan to take out and clean the caster wheel once every couple of months, but haven’t gotten to that point yet. So far, these operations take me maybe 15 minutes once a week, probably less.

IMO it never was terrible. Is pretty good at avoiding stuff, I was actually surprised.

+1 for Roborock, the q revo series with the spinning mops and auto docks have been amazing for me. There have a few different models so I'd compare them all but we have the slim and the master and love them both. They often go on sale - I got each of them for 1k or less. I had the s7+ and the mopping was disappointing. I'd avoid any simple dragging mops.

Had the Q Revo from Costco and it constantly got clogged. To be fair, we have a long haired cat too. It started to leak both dirt and water. What I’ve learned is that anything combo, which the Q revo vacuum and mops, does a subpar job at both. Will probably try the shark robovac.

Unfortunately it still accumulates on the vacuum duct and I have to manually pull out the hair clog. I don’t know why it was leaking fluid the other day. I think I’ll just mop separately.

The other problem is removing hair that has become tangled in the roller. You can’t just remove the ends like Roomba.

Yes! Don’t get the Curv plus it’s cheaply built and ugly. The S8 MaxV has premium materials. They are all plastic but the Curv and Q series feel flimsy.

You might not be happy with the build quality of the lower end series like the Q. Stick with Premium. I would get the S series or Saros. The Q series feels very cheap compared to the S plus it can handle the hair NP. It’s a more attractive unit too unless you like a shiny egg that looks like it came out of an 80s movie. lol

The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
