Get a roborock QRevo curve or slim. Roborock is one of the top robot vacuum manufacturers. It vacuums and mops. The app is awesome. The charging station empties out the vacuum’s dust bin, cleans and dries the mop, and senses of it needs to re-mop. It won’t be cheap, but it’s what you want.

I got a slim that was on sale for my 1 bed 2 bath with hardwood and lots of navigation challenges and it works pretty well.

I happly set up mine. It went and started mapping everything. Then parked in front of the Base and now insists on "Error 31, please make sure front and back sensors are not obstructed". Cleaning does not woork, it is a brand new device. I tried factory resetting (home and pin simultaneously) but it won´t reset. :(

Although I did manage to make resets, the fault pertained. In the end I returned it and got a new unit which is now working well.

My q revo slim does a pretty good job at mopping 9n wensday and it does a decent job of keeping up with the vacuuming everyday even with 2 dogs and 2 cats. But it never gets every thing and it's never a deep clean. It more just slows the progress of messyness a lot.

Yes! My entire downstairs is hardwood and tile. Vacuuming and mopping works well on both. I have it do two passes, so it makes a checkered pattern. So even if it misses something the first time, it'll usually pick it up the second pass. I have two Roborocks, a Slim and a Q5+.

I have two Dreame x40s. Probably one of the best robot vacuums from the last generation. The new generation is the Roborock Saros 10R and Dreame X50. As for the x40, I have two of them and they have probably the best object avoidance on the market while also have great cleaning performance. I run them both on a daily schedule and they have no issues cleaning my house without eating cords, cat toys and other random things that end up on the floor. The obstacle avoidance lets me run it daily without having to prep my house. If you have to prep your house, or can't run the robot on a schedule, it makes a robot vacuum a lot less useful. I basically don't have to think about the robot outside of refilling it's water and cleaning the filter. I also tried the QRevo slim but returned it since its obstacle avoidance wasn't as good. It cleaned well, but the Dreame cleaned just as well while having superior object avoidance so kept the Dreame. Since the new generation of robots just came out, I would wait a bit before buying but it looks like the Saros 10R might be one of the best picks right now. The Dreame x50 also looks good but I've heard some issues and bugs with the software but it does have better features like a self cleaning vacuum filter. Either way I would wait a bit for bugs to be ironed out and more reviews to come out.

Skip Roborock if you want good obstacle avoidance. Their robots are mediocre at it compared to Dreame and the S1 pro. Get the Mova P10 pro ultra, it's basically a Dreame x40 with a smaller battery and missing the ability to leave the mop pads at the base station. It's obstacle avoidance is just as good and it's $679 on Amazon right now. I have two Dreame X40s, great vacuums, never get stuck on obstacles or eat cords/cat toys. Cleans my house well and does a good job getting embedded dust out of my carpets and debris off my hard floors. The Mova P10 pro ultra is basically going to be the same but at a much lower price (Mova is a sister/subbrand of Dreame) I had a QRevo slim and it was horrible at obstacle avoidance. Cleaned as well as the Dreame X40 but it would eat cords and socks and felt like the obstacle avoidance is useless. I bought the slim since it supposedly has the best obstacle avoidance of the Roborocks but it just isn't consistent or reliable to trust running it on a schedule. I want a robovac that I can run on a schedule without having to prep my home. The S1 pro is a good robot if you have hard floors only, but it's vacuum performance is bad compared to the Dreame and roborock. Most of the debris will be picked up by the spinning mop and end up in the mop filter and not the dust bin. It also lags bending on carpet performance versus Dreame and roborock and doesn't have an extending side brush.

Fair enough. In that case it looks like Dreame made a huge improvement with object avoidance with the introduction of their "X" series like the X30 and X40. Considering the QRevo slim is Roborock's best object avoidance offering, the S8 does do worse than it and by extension the S7 is last gen tech. Looking at all the comparisons, most rank the Slim above the S8 and the S7 and then the X40 is well beyond the Slim. It's a shame because roborock would be the best choice if their object avoidance actually was reliable and consistent.

Dreame l10S or l20 if you are trying to save money Dreame x30 if you have a little more money to spend Dreame X40/L40 if you want the best. If you only have hardfloors, the Eufy S1 pro I also like the QRevo Slim if you want something from Roborock but I am disappointed with its Object avoidance capabilities when compared to Dreame and Eufy. Roborock in general is quite trash at obstacle avoidance and it makes it hard for me to trust their vacuums to run on a schedule without having to babysit them but their hardware is solid and reliable. Skip the Eufy x10 that so many shills like. It's got a lot of features that look good but in reality they aren't very well implemented. I had two of them and Eufy partially refunded me for both of them due to my experience with them. Good customer support, but a bad vacuum design that struggles to pick up anything on hardfloors. For the same money I would get a Dreame l10S or L20 instead. I posted my full review here: https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/s/AVD9Ph2eHK

With the QRevo slim or basically any roborock, you will feel like an idiot because you will be finding yourself babysitting your vacuum and pulling out cords that it's eaten from the brush rollers. Seriously, roborock needs to work on their object avoidance algorithm before I will ever recommend their products to anyone. They have everything else figured out, class leading cleaning performance, app and build quality, but their robots have the object avoidance of $300 vacuums. I currently have a QRevo Slim and a Dreame X40. The X40 is so far ahead in the object avoidance realm that it's not even a contest. Both clean about equally as well with a slight edge going to the QRevo Slim, but that slight advantage means nothing if it can't complete a full cleaning task without getting hung up on some obstacle. I have my Dreame X40 running at midnight every day and never have to worry about it getting stuck on something or caught on something because it's object avoidance works so well, even in the dark and on all surfaces. It stays clear of cat toys, cords, socks, paper towels and all sorts of random household junk. So even if the roborock is very so slightly better at cleaning, the fact that I can run the Dreame daily will keep my house cleaner. The Dreame also does a better job cleaning edges and corners due a better extending brush design and extension algorithm. For the money get the Dreame X40 if you have a mix of hard floors and carpets and get the eufy s1 pro if you have only hard floors.

I've tried both and kept the Dreame X40 for similar reasons. Roborock is just bad at obstacle avoidance. I have two x40s and they have been working great for the past 5 months other than some minor hiccups. Their regular customer support really sucks but I've had really good luck contacting one of their support reps, Russell on Whatsapp. He's helped me update my X40 and recalibrate the LDS. If you want to avoid Dreame and Roborock try the Eufy s1 pro. Since you have hard floors mostly, it would be a good choice. Eufy's customer support is better than Dreame and Roborock but their robots are a little worse when it comes to carpet performance.

Jaime, would you say that the QRevo Slim is close in obstacle avoidance performance to the Dreame X40? I have a Dreame X40 but I'm considering returning it due to the side brush not spinning on carpets and because it thinks my rubber anti-fatigue kitchen mats are a cliff so it gets stuck on the mats (something my cheaper robot vacuums with Cliff sensors never had issues with). I'm hoping the slim is close in object avoidance performance as the X40 is class leading.

Yeah it's disappointing that the Dreame is so sensitive. It is nice that it rarely gets caught on anything but a common rubber kitchen mat that other robot vacuums have no issues with should be easy for a $1000+ robot. I've got a slim coming in tomorrow, hoping its object avoidance is good enough, but it may struggle as you are saying that it still has issues with cords and that is one of the most common obstacles in my house along with cat toys. Thanks for the advice and love your videos!

So yeah the slim has okay object avoidance but not nearly to the level of Dreame. The Roborock Qrevo Slim basically refuses to avoid cords on carpet, even clearly visible and thick extension cords. It's a bit disappointing in the object avoidance but it is nice how well it can clean my kitchen and it doesn't get stuck on my black anti-fatigue mats unlike my X40. Seems like they both have similar cleaning performance with maybe the roborock being better with the double brush roller? It's going to be difficult to pick which one is going back. It is nice that the slim can get under some cabinets and side boards and that it can clean my kitchen well, but its object avoidance makes it hard to trust to run on a schedule. Also it's pathing efficiency seems not as good as the x40 as well as battery life. Meanwhile the X40 has practically flawless object avoidance but it's Cliff sensors are over sensitive and prevent my X40 from properly cleaning my kitchen with it getting up onto my anti-fatigue rubber mats and then getting stuck on them since it thinks the edges are a cliff. Also the lack of side brush on carpet is a bit annoying. I've brought these concerns up to Dreame support and a support engineer I got a hold of on whatsapp and they might be working on a fix but not going to hold my breath on that. They have had almost a year to implement the brush on carpet feature which the L40 for some reason has now but the X40 still doesn't have. Might just keep the QRevo slim and work around it's poor object avoidance. Have you gotten updates on your roborock vacuums to make object avoidance better?

Dreame excels at object avoidance. The only decent roborocks are the S8 MaxV and the Slim but they are significantly worse than Dreame and Eufy at object avoidance. My QRevo slim fails to see cords and basic obstacles on carpet and hard floors while my Dreame X40 has zero issues seeing every obstacle and rarely gets stuck or caught on things.

Get the Dreame X40 certified refurb. https://www.ebay.com/itm/356133310411 It's 879 right now on eBay through Dreame store. I have two of them and they are basically brand new and have a 2 year warranty versus a 1 year warranty when purchased brand new.. It is the best robot when it comes to obstacle avoidance. It has all the features you would want with extending side brush to clean edges and corners and good mopping and vacuum performance. I run mine daily on a schedule and they never get stuck and do a great job cleaning my carpets and hard floors. Each vacuum can clean each of my floors on max suction ~750sqft without having to stop and charge and each finishes in around 1-1.5 hours. I also have a Roborock QRevo slim that is just as good when it comes to cleaning other than corners but its obstacle avoidance is atrocious and it eats cords and cat toys and runs into things that the Dreame is great at avoiding. Most reviewers like Vacuum Wars tests obstacle avoidance only on hard floors which is the easiest surface for obstacle avoidance, on carpet most Roborocks just fall flat and eat everything. Nevertheless, I'm boxing up my QRevo slim right now and returning it as Roborock's obstacle avoidance just isn't good and it's side brush extension behavior was lacking with it rarely extending to clean corners and when it did extend, it doesn't do as good of a job as the dreame Right now it seems like Dreame has the least compromises when it comes to vacuum performance. They clean well, avoid obstacles well, mop well and have good app features Roborock main vacuum motor hardware and brush hardware works well but their side brush behavior and hardware aren't so good and their obstacle avoidance is far behind the competition. Eufy has good obstacle avoidance, and great mopping performance with the Eufy s1 but their vacuum pickup performance is lacking behind Dreame and roborock and their app is very lacking in features and smart home integration.

The eufy x10 is trash at actually vacuuming debris: https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/s/aP3N1VO5Tt The only thing it deserves an award for is best object avoidance for the money. I would say the best would be the QRevo Slim for carpet/hardwood and Dreame X40 if you only have hard floors. The eufy s1 pro is overrated and has the same suction issues as the x10. It has the best mop, but how often are you actually mopping up giant messes every day with your robot vacuum. Running a reliable robot vacuum with a spinning mop system will do as good on a schedule. The eufy vacuums also lack lots of app and smart home integration features like setting the floor grain direction, setting the location of ramps the robot can use and other smart features that roborock and Dreame have in their apps that Eufy is lacking.

My QRevo slim which is supposed to have a better object avoidance system than the master due to the front facing lidar has the same issue. Constantly running into obvious obstacles that are right in front of it and eating cords that my Dreame X40 never would eat. Very disappointed at Roborock for not investing resources into object avoidance. Also the Roborock algorithm for extending the flexi-arm brush needs a lot of work because I find it extends 10% of the times that the X40 does. Seems like roborock has lots of half baked firmware but on top notch hardware.

His cleaning tests are good but his obstacle avoidance test really needs work. He only tests on hard floors which is the easiest floor to test on, carpet is much harder for most robots when it comes to object avoidance. If he tested on carpet, the Roborock products would end up rank much lower as their object avoidance algorithm is horrible even on their top object avoidance performer, the QRevo Slim. Even on hardfloors, I found the QRevo slim still was not as reliable and consistent at avoiding obstacles as my Dreame X40. Object avoidance really should be one of the most important things a vacuum robot can do as the usefulness of a robot is significantly reduced if you cannot trust it to run on a daily schedule and if you have to babysit it. He also doesn't really test how effective the extending side brushes work and in that realm roborock also is behind the competition as their algorithm for determining if the arm needs to extend or not only really work in perfect 90degree corners. Dreame on the other hand actually extends in any case that the robot thinks it cannot reach normally which results in much better edge and corner cleaning performance. Additionally, the side brush design on the new Roborocks is slightly angled which prevents full contact when extended leaving a large dead spot (I think the QRevo Curv is the only one without this defect). To be fair, this isn't something most reviewers really test at the moment, but it does make me suspicious why Vacuum wars rates roborock's products at the top of his ratings every time. I feel that Jaime Andrews is a much more reliable source of information as he properly tests object avoidance and cleaning performance along with generally avoiding sounding like an advertisement. There are lots of vacuum wars videos which just sound like him reading off the manufacturers press release and then not properly verifying their claims. Regardless, Vacuumwars is just another source to consider but I wouldn't consider him the best reviewer. JustADad seems like a good source for more real-world use reviews but his videos are a bit long and not really easy to watch unlike Jaime Andrews and Vacuum wars. Jaimie Andrews is an overall good source, he's active on this subreddit and I believe he runs the unofficial Roborock subreddit but even with him running that subreddit, his reviews are very impartial. Rtings has been putting out more reviews now and they just released their review for the Eufy s1 pro, QRevo Curv and soon the Dreame L40. If you are buying, purchase from a reputable retailer with a generous return policy. Maybe purchase two robots you think you are interested in and return the one that performs worse in your use case. That's what I did when I bought the Dreame X40 and QRevo Slim and returned the QRevo Slim to Amazon.

Dreame x40/L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Dreame/Mova have the best object avoidance on the market currently along with having top notch cleaning performance. I run my X40s daily on a schedule and they never get stuck on cords or cat toys. The QRevo slim I also ordered to compare my X40 again would basically always eat a cord, sock or cat toy when running so I couldn't trust it to run on a schedule and returned it. Roborock in general has top notch cleaning performance but horrible object avoidance and I would not recommend roborock for that reason Eufy has pretty good object avoidance, especially in the S1 pro but the common issue with Eufy's products is that they underperform when it comes to vacuum performance. They fail to pick up debris on hard floors and carpets. And perform worse than Dreame/roborock.

In my experience, the x10 is mediocre at vacuuming hard floors, okay at vacuuming carpets, decent at object avoidance for the money, decent at mopping (although the mop pads are very likely to capture abrasive debris and scratch your floors since the vacuum performance is so bad), good customer support. The review from Rtings closely matched my experience: https://www.rtings.com/robot-vacuum/reviews/eufy/x10-pro-omni X40 > QRevo Slim > Eufy x10 > Wyze robot vacuum The Wyze, while far outperforming everyone in vacuum performance on hard floors, is last because it's a "dumb robot" with no obstacle avoidance, self emptying dock, mopping and other advanced features that the other three have. It is still a really good performer and lives in my garage picking up leaves, road debris, concrete chunks, screws and other nasty garage debris that the other vacuums likely couldn't pickup. Also has a sealed HEPA filter unlike the others. In your case, I think your best options are the Roborock QRevo, Dreame l10S, Mova E30. The roborock will be the best at vacuuming but will struggle in object avoidance. The l10S and Mova E30 are very similar machines, both will perform better than the x10 at vacuuming and mopping but be slightly worse at object avoidance but better than the QRevo at object avoidance. If you are willing to keep your home a "robot vacuum proof" environment, the QRevo should be the best choice in your price range.

Neither. 1) roborock has horrible obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet so they will eat cords, towels and socks so it's hard to run any of their vacuums on a schedule 2) the roborock s8 maxV ultra is a 2 year old design as this point and their sonic mopping system is outdated. It seems like they didn't want to cannibalize their QRevo line up and stacked on a silly side mop onto it. 3) the QRevo edge is good but if you are set on roborock, check out the QRevo slim as it has the best object avoidance out of all Roborocks but that isn't really a high bar to overcome as their robots have object avoidance that is comparable to a $400 robot. Personally since you have so much carpet, I would recommend the Dreame X40, L40 and the Mova P10 pro ultra (sub brand of Dreame). All have excellent hardfloor and carpet performance while also having class leading object avoidance. I currently have qrevo slim that I'm testing and a Dreame x40 ultra. The x40 just a far better cleaning system due to the object avoidance since I can run it daily.

If you are ordering on Amazon just buy both and return the one you like less. That's what I did when I was looking at the Dreame X40 and QRevo Slim. I ended up keeping the Dreame since their object avoidance is significantly ahead of roborock even though the QRevo slim is their best performance object avoidance robot. Also the edge cleaning was better on the Dreame and overall cleaning performance was about equal. The QRevo slim was slightly better on hard floors and Roborock is generally a little better on hard floors. For me the object avoidance was really important because I can run the robot daily without worrying about it get caught on something and I don't have to prep my house for it to run.

Get a Dreame or Mova for best obstacle avoidance. I've owned a Eufy x10, Dreame x40 and Roborock QRevo slim. Out of all of them I rate the Dreame x40 far ahead of the other two with the QRevo slim coming in 2nd and Eufy x10 last I currently have two x40s and their obstacle avoidance is nearly flawless. The robots rarely get stuck or eat cables which lets me run them both daily without having to prep my house or intervene. Roborock in general, really struggles with obstacle avoidance, especially on carpet. The QRevo slim I had for a few weeks before returning it would constantly eat cords and cat toys. Do not go with roborock if you value obstacle avoidance. For your case, I would recommend the Dreame L40 or Mova P10 pro ultra. Mova is Dreame's sister company and the p10 pro ultra is identical to the Dreame L40 other than not being able to leave the mop pads at the base station. And both are very similar to the X40 other than having a slightly smaller battery and slightly different obstacle avoidance sensors while still being as good as obstacle avoidance. The advantage of the L40 and p10 pro ultra is that you are getting X40 level performance but usually around the $500-700 price point.

I am a brand-new user of RoboRock Qrevo Slim, i want it to vacuum under the bed but it seems like it wont go under the bed because it detects the bedskirt. When i remove the bedskirt, it will go under the bed sometimes; I am wondering if it could be instructed to push through hanging fabric that reaches to the floor. Also, it seems like it doesn't go to all of the places in the mapped area, which is a little disappointing.

The Qrevo Master has a lot of good reviews, so I don't think that's a bad option. Roborock has historically been weaker at obstacle avoidance, though, and the Master is no exception. I don't have insight into the European market, but at least on Amazon US, the Qrevo Slim is cheaper than the Master right now. I mention it because it has the first generation of Roborock's new obstacle avoidance and navigation system, which got a very high obstacle avoidance rating from Vacuum Wars, and the Saros 10R (which uses a newer version of the same system) just got the highest obstacle avoidance rating ever from them. The Saros 10R is one of Roborock's new flagships, so quite expensive, but you might give the Slim a look. Assuming the Slim doesn't work out, I think you have to go into purchasing the Master accepting that it's the closest to what you want, but not an exact match. It sounds like you're already used to poor obstacle avoidance with your current robot, and I'm sure the Master would be better than what you have now. If you can live with that, I'd expect you would be quite happy with the Master otherwise.

Of these, the worst mopping will be the Q5 and Q8 robots, which just have stationary pads attached to the back. The S8 also has a pad attached to the back, but includes a scrubbing motion via a plate that vibrates at a high speed. It's better than the Q5 and Q8. The best mopping will be on the Qrevo and Eufy X10. They have spinning mop pads, a dock which refills the water tank on the robot from its own water tank, and also cleans the pads automatically and stores the dirty water in another tank on the dock. Of the last two, each has its strengths and weaknesses. The X10 will be better at obstacle avoidance. The Qrevo is a Roborock, which has a better reputation for quality and reliability than the Eufy, and is also rated a little better than the Eufy at a lot of things: vacuuming performance, mopping performance, etc. It also can swing out one of its mop pads for better edge and corner cleaning, something the Eufy can't do. In some cases, obstacle avoidance is really critical, in which case I'd recommend the Eufy. Otherwise, the Qrevo is likely your best bet.

We have a large home with hardwood floors and a few area rugs, a German Shedder, a beagle mix, a long haired cat and 2 kids that tend to leave toys, socks, and shoes all over. My kids and I also have long hair, but it's curly, so we don't shed like folks with straighter hair. I mention all this because they were points of consideration when I was looking at models and features. Verdict: 100% worth it. It keeps me sane because I don't have time to vacuum the whole house as often as it would otherwise need. With regards to the Slim, I have been impressed. It hasn't gotten itself caught on any cords, and it has been able to go under furniture and in between dining chairs and stools like a champ without running into anything. It's leaps and bounds better than the Shark was with avoidance and this particular model is a bit better than other RR models from the tests and reviews I saw. That said, it's also better for hardwoods. If my memory serves, the Curv/Edge was recommended for carpets but probably outside of your budget even with the current sales and discounts. In any case, do some research and think about what you really need in a vacuum and pull the trigger. You won't regret it!

The tests are no doubt accurate, but you have to consider whether the overall weightings matter to you. For example, I personally don't care for obstacle avoidance and would rather not have it at all,\* but I do care greatly about any mopping system's abillity to keep itself clean and free of mold. Then there are things like robot height and threshold-climbing that are entirely situational to your home. I love most things about the Curv, including the threshold climbing, but my home has six (6!) pieces of furniture that the Curv ***can't quite*** get under (the Slim could). There's also the issue of relativity. In 2025 I wouldn't pay too much attention to differences in suction, for example. Any of these newer vacs, and especially the "best" ones, do a very good job vacuuming. The differences are nitpicky. *\* regarding obstacle avoidance, you didn't ask, but say I lose a sock under the bed or in a dark corner of a closet. With a "dumb" robot, it'll probably get caught in the roller, and I'll get a notification on the app, then I clear the obstacle and have the robot finish its task. With obstacle avoidance, it'll vacuum around the sock. I'll never find the sock, AND a spot on the floor never gets cleaned. You have pets, so the pet poop thing may be the most important thing to you (if only it was reliable).*

At the beginning the robot got stuck in the fan's electrical cord. After that, I've changed the configuration "Less collision mode" to Sensitive and it started recognising the cord. But my cats have some toys with cords (like the tail of a plush mouse) and the robot gets stuck at it. The robot also pushes the cat bowls along the house, so I had to add a no go zone there. In average, the object avoidance is good when compared to others roborock models, but it's still far from being great.

[My thoughts on the QRevo Slim after a week of using it](https://preview.redd.it/we5kcurop0wd1.jpg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=91dd8e5313d098889a8a2e1667c66fffa852d2da) **Note:** [**My initial thoughts and unboxing images are linked on this thread**](https://www.reddit.com/r/Roborock/comments/1g4rkww/unboxing_preview_of_the_roborock_qrevo_slim_ama/) I’ve been using a S7 (no dock) for the past 3 years and loved it. Yes, it is a hassle to empty the dustbin and clean the mop pads every day BUT it was ridiculously good at what it did. The QRevo Slim completely changed my opinion on that. I’m not gonna spend time on what the others have done w.r.t. build quality, set up experience etc. but rather I wanna focus on the good and bad aspects of this product. # The Good 1. **The Dock** is arguably the best thing about having a robot vacuum – auto empty, mop cleaning and drying and the ability to refill and store dirty water for a week or two means I rarely have to touch my vacuum (which is a big win for me). There is no difference between this dock and the docks that come with other variants of the Roborock series. 2. **Suction Power** – I have a wool rug in my living room that sheds like a pack of german shepherds. With my S7, I still had to manually vacuum with my Dyson in order to remove both its shedding and dirt. The QRevo Slim however really does good work on carpets and rugs. Post a run with the Slim, my Dyson doesn’t pick up much debris or hair from the rug. The slide out front arm has definitely made a difference around deep corners in my home. I had to manually clean these with a handheld vacuum before. *But it’s not perfect and some debris still remains in the absolute corner.* 3. **Object Detection** – This was a game changer for me. Each night before I ran the S7, I had to manually move and rearrange items on the floor so it didn’t get stuck. With a kid and a dog, it’s easy to have toys under the rug, spoons in random places on the floor etc. My S7 would always get stuck on those and fire away an SOS in the app and I’d have to get outta bed and reset the robot clean cycle. The Slim has made me truly appreciate the *set it and forget it* style I prefer. Yes, I still do move/check for randoms but it doesn’t get stuck up on the stuff I’d miss. 3/4 score in my ultra scientific yet real world test! It even manages to dodge when my dog is sitting on the rug and shows a ‘Pet’ notification in the app! [My super scientific object detection test with real crap my kid and dog leaves around](https://preview.redd.it/8f6k4co5r0wd1.jpg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=6d7eaaba68ebcb3ad4537fdc21f6e259f0aa18f7) [Wires - not a problem!](https://reddit.com/link/1g8folf/video/spjpvfeer0wd1/player) [It did manage to 'touch' the flip flops but didnt mess up](https://reddit.com/link/1g8folf/video/xxz15rijr0wd1/player) [Nudged the ball but didn't get stuck on it like my S7 did](https://reddit.com/link/1g8folf/video/3exydktpr0wd1/player) 4. **Mopping Ability** – Just out of curiosity, I ran my old S7 in a specific area for a vacuum and mop cycle. I then followed it with a cycle on the QRevo Slim. It still managed to show up as dark brown water after the mop cycle! This was an eye opener as it meant that the scrubbing ability of the rotating mop heads made a difference on my hard wood floors. It even managed to scuff out certain markings my kid made with a marker on the floor. The slide out mop arm makes a difference around the entry way of my house (near the front door) and near the backyard entrance, for sure.   [Goddamn kids and their marker pens](https://preview.redd.it/z16pcdmyr0wd1.jpg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7c5c2cf4fda48a9fdeae54455b9ca0a4fbe5a4ee) [After 1 run. The Slim allows me to set exactly such routines where it would first tackle those two areas – empty and clean itself – and then continue on with cleaning the rest without any manual intervention from me whatsoever! There’s also a matrix mapping option in the map although I am not sure what it really does or how it helps (Maybe the folks at Roborock can answer this?). 6. **Noise and general pain-in-the-ass’ness** – The slim itself is pretty quiet when in Balanced mode. When it does bump up the power on the rug in my Living Room, it is still quieter than my old S7 in Max mode. I could NOT watch TV in my living room when running the S7 on vacuum/mop balanced mode. I can however do this with the Slim. Do with this information what you will. It also manages to go under my kitchen cabinets which my S7 never could, due to the LIDAR turret.   [Mop Cleaning in action and how it sounds](https://reddit.com/link/1g8folf/video/277d981eq0wd1/player) [How the Starsight light looks at night + loudness when cleaning](https://reddit.com/link/1g8folf/video/fqn0rv5jq0wd1/player) The headlight for the Starsight feature is super bright leaves really weird shadows at night (when I run my cleaning cycles) so if you somehow look towards the stairs going down, it looks like folks with flashlights are in your home!   [Starsight Light - it's bright!](https://preview.redd.it/5nhddsqtq0wd1.jpg?width=2390&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=953e73b2fa559f9edb54d6bb1e355df94aea12e1) # The Bad: 1. During the very first run, the robot managed to lose its way back to the dock and took a tour around my entire house before it managed to reach the dock in order to wash its mop. This was after an initial mapping run had been done. 2. It also attacked its own dock during the first run but stopped doing so from the 2^(nd) iteration onwards. [arrrrr](https://preview.redd.it/eej2hf7js0wd1.jpg?width=1792&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=7853c73ad3629da66beb764117b9c5c59184a3bc) 3. When cleaning in the dining area, my old S7 managed to go between the legs of all the chairs in order to clean the underside of the dining table. The Slim however refuses to navigate between the legs and do this. Not sure why since it definitely has enough space to manouever there.   [S7 cleaning the dining area](https://preview.redd.it/823cdfgws0wd1.jpg?width=493&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=77a40489b533c3781b1d232d65237fe125816ef8) [Slim avoiding the underside of the dining table](https://preview.redd.it/ppl76p80t0wd1.jpg?width=493&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f16a3f9bb6e53a692191c7998c10250b09feff41) # Overall Thoughts: Had a friend with a ecovacs take a look and he quite literally went red. He showed me how his device needs to be regularly reset every 2 days cos it regularly forgets its mapped areas. The Roborock app experience has been fantastic for me and this is coming from someone who went through 3 x iRobot S9s after they all crapped out on me. **I would give the QRevo Slim a rating of 8/10** (*no product gets a 10/10 in my world lol*). It’s efficient, cleans well, definitely makes my life easier and is quite hassle free. If you have anything that is older than a QRevo S, it makes perfect sense to get this. Or you have money to spend and are somehow obsessed with vaccums then you do you. **Note: The unit was provided by Roborock in order for me to test out and review! #RoborockReviewCrew**

I just bought a Roborock Qrevo Slim about 3 weeks ago, and I have been really happy so far. I have about 775 sqft of hardwood floors with one 10ftx12ft rug in my living room. We are a family of 3 with two fluffy dogs. I went with the Slim because I wanted to make sure the robot would be able to get under all of my furniture and the other models were a little too tall. I also had a $1k budget and this was on the upper price end of my budget. Vacuum Wars did a great review on YouTube so check it out. I think the only con is that it needs to be cleaned once a week. Dirt tends to clump under the rollers (this would probably be fixed if i had it vacuum everything first and then go back and mop) and some hair gets caught around the spindles of the rollers. Not a big deal to me and very manageable IMO.

For context, I have never owned a robot vacuum and did hours of reading up before deciding on the Qrevo Slim. Dreame’s warranty sounds like a nightmare, Eufy seems like it can’t vacuum worth a damn but mops great, and Narwhal was a bit out of my price range so I figured what the heck, it’ll start with Roborock. I am a real person not some sponsored influencer so my thoughts are not biased. I have about 1000sq feet of house to cover, 2 rooms of carpet and a couple of rugs, and otherwise it is laminate flooring. I also have 2 cats, one long hair and one shorter. I was surprised how customizable the app is, it is so in depth and there are so many options. I will have to take more time to learn how to better use it. I was having a hard time setting up zones in the app, as I'd like it to mop my kitchen area twice. The robot was quick to map the house when I first let it loose. The cats were just super curious about it and robot kept detecting them and going around them. One of the cats just loves batting at the spinning arm, I will probably have to replace that soon lol. The robot was very good moving around the pets and any other obstacles. It did a good job of finding corners, stairs and within a couple minutes it re docked itself and had a map of the house. Overnight, I set it to run a vacuum and mop cycle. It is pretty quiet, sometimes turns up to turbo mode for vacuuming and it's a little louder. In general though, you could watch TV with running and be just fine. It very effectively vacuumed and mopped, and quickly, the whole place was done within about 45 minutes. It did well in corners and edges. For my household upkeep I will probably only need to run it 3 days per week or so. Reviewing the paths it took on the app, It avoided the cats, made neat tidy lines and seemed very thorough. There was a fair amount of pick up on the rugs and carpet that it got flawlessly, and some spots in the kitchen that needed mopped (no deep stains or anything just minor spots from cooking etc) and it mopped them with ease. It was able to get on the edges near cabinets and trim well. There was only one spot it did not do well in and that was in a corner where I have a standing pad in the kitchen. It had a tough time figuring out the way up the pad which has a ramp up but is approximately an inch tall, and also my cat was laying on it I think so it didn't go up it but I know it's capable. I'll have to try to force it to get into that spot better. Overall, quite impressed with it. I don't know if Roborock has improved navigation a lot through updates with the new Starsight system but it did really well navigating and recognizing objects to avoid. That was a concern of mine initially because several of the reviews I had seen said it was not on par with the standard lidar that Roborock has been using the last couple years. I don't know, seemed great to me. I will be interested to see longevity, I picked it up on a sale for $1000 which was about the maximum I wanted to spend. For the price hope it lasts several years, and expect to have to replace rollers/dust bins/brushes etc as needed. I understand there are pretty cheap replacement parts on Aliexpress which is awesome. Hope this helps anyone looking at options like I was!

Just bought the Roborock Qrevo slim. I searched for a long time before settling on that. Dreame warranty sounds like a nightmare and quality seems inconsistent. Eufy seemed like it could not vacuum well but was the best mop option. Roborock seemed to have the best customer service as well as many aftermarket replaceable parts as needed. So far after a couple of cleanings I am very happy with it. Vacuums well and mops well. Gets corners well. It isn't 100% perfect but I'd say it does about 95% of the job I could do by hand, I just don't have to do it anymore. Easy cleaning and maintenance, self emptying and self cleaning mop pads. It's awesome so far, and was just on sale for $1000. If you're looking at a $400ish price range check ebay for refurbished Roborock. They come with a 2 year warranty and I saw models like the S7 Max for about that price which, although older, would definitely do a great job. If you can move up to a $~600 price range you will have a wider variety of nice options. Roborock consistently scores very well among the similar vacuum brands from many reviewing sites which is what turned me toward them. Hope this helps some!

The obstacle avoidance works better on hard floors than carpets which is why most people that review on YouTube praise the Master. They never test it on carpet. Out of all the Qrevo models the Slim has the best object avoidance due to the inclusion of the front facing lidar. No robot on the market is perfect and the real weakness with Roborock is with object avoidance mostly with cords. With that said it accels with dependability, overall performace, near perfect navigation and has the best app on the market. Here is how I tested the Master and the full results of the object avoidance test. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xNNffT9q_jc&t=292s

r/Roborock • Is the AI and obstacle avoidance really that bad? ->

Roborock struggles to avoid objects on carpet. Put it on hard floors and it will likely avoid it 9 times out of 10 even with the basic models like the Qrevo S with a single light sensor. This is why I always run my ovject avoidance tests on carpet. I find most pets tend to have accidents on rugs or carpet and since it is more difficult for all robots not just Roborock, testing object avoidance on carpet usually means if it succeeds there then it will succeed on hard floors. I'm not sure why other reviewers have not picked up on this yet especially Vacuum Wars. If you want the best object avoidance (from Roborock) on carpet specifically with animal waste the best options are the S8 MaxV and the Qrevo Slim. Through all my years testing it feels like Roborock has not invested in object avoidance as their tech has not really improved much since the S6 MaxV which was groundbreaking when it launched. Companies like Eufy, Narwal and Dreame have invested and are way ahead. It is always best to pickup prior to running a robot, but I do understand that many people prefer to run them on a schedule when not at home.

I would not say especially close. Roborock's main weekness is with proper object avoidance on carpet and cords in general. If you are concerned about pet waste the Slim is better than the Master. If Roborock could invest in their object avoidance there would not be many worthy compitiors. Another drawback with the X40 is it thinks everything it see is an obstacle to avoid. You could say better safe than sorry, but it is a bit much imo.

It is a very basic system which has not improved much from when it was released which is a hardware limitation. I find the reason you often get mixed reviews has more to do with a lack of understanding of object avoidance which is only designed to pickup and avoid items on the floor that are lower than the lidar on the decklid. You can see the Pro (which has the exact same Reactive Tech object avoidance as the old Q Revo and the Qrevo S) can only really avoid the cup which all robots even with no object avoidance are able to do [in my latest review video](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iSMqTKFj-aQ&t=74s). I always recommend picking up before sending any robot out. If object avoidance is very important the S8 Series is a good bit better than the Q series. [In my review of the S8 MaxV Ultra](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmWjtQRcG4s&t=444s) you can see how much better it performed than the Qrevo Pro and even the Qrevo MaxV which lacks additional sensors found on the S8 MaxV. If you have pets that have accidents in your house do not rely on a Q Revo to avoid it.

The most important thing you can do is get a GOOD bagged vacuum. We have the Meile C3 for dogs and cats. Use it often. Robots will do maintenance but not deep clean. I also find myself replacing the brushes more than “recommended” because the excess hair is so hard on them. Hardwood- Roborok with the dual rubber rollers. We have the Roborok Quervo Slim and it’s great for a daily run for upkeep. Carpet - haven’t found one that I love. The best so far is the Eufy L60. It has a feature that cuts the hair that gets wrapped around the brush. It’s fine, but tends to leave little clumps of hair on the carpet on occassion. But I’m living with it because it’s better than having to vacuum every day.

Get a roborock with adaptlift feature. They can raise their whole body a bit so that they don’t get stuck in high pile carpet. No need to go Saros line. Getting an edge or Curv (watch out, not the S5A or S5X models, they are trimmed down version and have no adaptlift among other things missing) gives you pretty much flagship level for a bit cheaper

The qrevo actually finishes its job more frequently than the j7 did for me. The j7 got stuck often, maybe 1 out of 4 cleanings it either sucked up a cat toy or jammed itself under something. Noise at least on hardwood is easily double the qrevo and it takes at least 2x the amount of time to clean the house. In my experience, which is several years with 2 j7’s and now about 6 months with qrevo’s it isn’t even close.

I never had an S7 max ultra, but Ido have an S 8 Pro ultra and a couple of models of QRevo… I have 3 golden retriever, 4 cats and 4 kids. In my opinion I would return it and get the QRevo Master instead if your main concern is pet hair, just because it has 10,000 pa, double roller, self cleaning dock and extending brush and mop, or the Qrevo S, no double roller but 7000 pa has also made a difference. The technology of the Qrevo is newer in my opinion, easier dock to clean. Feel free to ask any questions

I've got a Qrevo S and a 3bed home. It does pretty well maintaining cleanliness and has a self emptying/cleaning mop+vacuum. Paid $450 on sale. Personally, I wouldn't think $1800 is worth unless it deep cleans my home every time and never needs me to lift a finger. Otherwise, a regular one is fine for day to day. Plus, IMO robot vacuums are not super effective on carpeted floors.

I have a Qrevo. Not the plus or edge or S; just Qrevo. It does a good job vacuuming, a good job mopping. I thought it would be excellent at one or the other before I got it, but it’s satisfactory. I am surprised how much maintenance it needs to stay in good running order. The mopping pad pan gets really dirty, even if all you’re doing is vacuuming.. I don’t think it does a very good job of vacuuming out the filter either. Definitely not saying it’s a bad robot, just saying I think its price point is kinda high for the performance. Also, the obstacle avoidance is sort of meh and best.

What about the Kärcher RCF 3 ?. It has a rolling mop and a 2 tank system in the robot. Has anyone tried it? I have a QRevo and although it's doing an ok job mopping, (Looking at the dirty water tank) in the base, l still think it would be a lot better if a robot would suck up dirty water and apply clean water all the time.

I can at least help with some of the Qrevo’s based on my own research I’ve been doing for this sale. Like you, I was replacing an older Roborock and didn’t want to go too high but still wanted some nice features. I ended up focusing on the Qrevo S, Qrevo Plus, and Qrevo Pro. They all are very similar, same 7000 pa suction, same 10mm mop pad lift, same object avoidance tech (which tbh isn’t that great from the reviews I’ve seen but I usually pick objects up that could get caught so it doesn’t bother me), mostly same dock capability with auto empty/mop pad washing and drying. The differences are with the mopping and they are minor but it depends how much you value the features that would be included. Qrevo S: The base model, everything as described as above Qrevo Plus: adds the flexible mop arm that offers better edge cleaning Qrevo Pro: adds the flexible mop arm AND has hot water mop pad washing and intelligent dirt detection that can sense when the mop pads are dirtier than normal and will wash them extra If it was based solely on just sale price, I would have gotten the Plus for myself. I value having the flexible mop arm to get the most coverage possible. But I was able to get a Pro for an even better deal through Target with coupons so that’s the one I went with. I’ve seen that the hot water wash and intelligent dirt detection are a little gimmicky, but ultimately it was primarily about the mop arm for me and I chose the Pro because I could get it for a better price. Hope this helps!

If you clean up clutter before running the robot like I do, then I don't think the top of the line avoidance is really needed. The basic Qrevo's appears to be good enough for my home to keep it away from walls and furniture so it doesn't run into them at full speed.

S7 maxv - mine is at 51km²/ 1471 hours of cleaning and going strong. Have a qrevo as well that was gifted us but still prefer the older s7. Could probably find a refurbished one well in your price range - upkeep has been basically vacuum bags, 6 or so filters now and 4 main brushes/7 or 8 side brushes. I replace based on condition and not the app suggestions.

I was on a budget and figured that was the sweet spot of having all the essentials (mop lift, self cleaning at the dock, good enough vacuum + mop performance). So far it has delivered on every aspect. Have a small ish single floor 2 person house (50m² cleanable space) and we have a dog too. There was some hair buildup after 1 week of running it but it's 2min job to untangle it so doesn't bother me. It was on a sale for 520€ (~$590).

Omg tysm for this! This will probably save my life. With 2 norwegian forest cats with an average fur length of 8+ inch and myself having waist long hair (at about 25 inches) and having tried the Qrevo S running daily I had insane amounts of hair/fur stuck to the wheels and the silocone brush. Spent over 1hr cleaning that thing after less then 24 hours of using it..... Shame for something that gets advertized as "tangle free" and "works well for pet hair" and they sell for 900 bucks I didn't even use it on my carpet (I actually have an indiustrial vacuum for that without any rolling brush system because nothing else can keep up....) and only used it on my hardwood floors and had a deep cleans the day before because I know accumulated hair can create issues. It still failed..... Guess I'll have to spend a little more money and hope for the best (or just keep using my industrial one)

In my house, I have 2 dogs, 2 cats, and a toddler. The dogs are constantly tracking mud/dirt, the cats track litter, and the toddler is, well, a toddler. Before getting a RoboVac, it was near impossible to keep my floor clean. I could sweep and mop everyday, but the dust bunnies and foot prints would return by the next day. Found a Roomba 670 at Goodwill, and the dust bunnies were no longer an issue. Still had foot prints, and minor dirt on the floor, but definitely less fur floating around. Just upgraded to a Qrevo S, and I can tell the floor is much cleaner and less dirt captured in my socks. You can still see some dirt in the right light, but my floors are noticeably better. Only upgraded maybe a week ago, so things may change. In short, my floors aren't as clean as if I pulled out the bucket and brush and scrubbed my house down. But it is so much cleaner than what it was before and quality of life has increased considerably as a result. So temper your expectations accordingly and you won't be disappointed.

After daily vacuuming then mopping, my hardwood floors became notably softer and had a shine. I’d recommend robots with roller mops or spinning mops. For roller mop robots, I’d recommend the eufy S1 (Pro), eufy E25/E28, MOVA Z50 Ultra, and the Narwal Flow. All of these robots except for the eufy E25/E28 will have good obstacle avoidance. For spinning mop robots, I’d recommend dreame/MOVA robots with the AceClean/jetspray dryboard, the Narwal Freo line with an all in one base station, the roborock qrevo line. If obstacle avoidance is important, I’d consider the Dreame L40S Pro Ultra, L/X50 Ultra and the Narwal Z/Z10 Ultra.

I had one of the higher end Sharks, can't remember the model, and I thought I liked it. It touted laser mapping, advanced schedules, etc. But then I got the Roborock Q Revo and it absolutely blew me away; made me realize how shitty the Shark was. At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.

I have a Roborock Q Revo in our 2 adult household and love it. I sweep out the corners occasionally since a round vacuum obviously can’t get into a 90 degree corner, but I don’t have to vacuum or mop anymore unless I just want to. My MIL also bought the same model, and they have three dogs in their home. One of whole sheds A LOT. He’s a corgi/lab mix and blows coat like a dandelion. It keeps up with all their hair, just needs more frequent dust bag replacements. It is so worth buying the right kind and getting a quality robot vacuum/mop. The cheap ones simply aren’t worth it. My father has a roomba (to excuse himself from ever actually cleaning) and it is awful. It will run over the same piece of hair multiple times without picking it up and then straight up avoid a certain dirty spot on the floor repeatedly. It runs on a random track of going until it bumps into something and then goes a different direction. He has also had problems with the batteries crapping out constantly and needing replaced because the capacity deteriorates so badly. The Roborock goes in a pattern; first does a perimeter sweep then goes in a grid pattern of vertical then horizontal rows. The Roborock takes floor plans of your house so you can select individual rooms for cleaning. There is a spot cleaning feature as well where you can drop a box to enclose a specific area that needs cleaned. You can set up scheduled for it to keep your house maintained and ignore it beyond weekly maintenance. I dump dirty water, fill the clean water, and wash mop heads once a week. I love it and would never buy anything else. Especially a Roomba.

I absolutely love my Q Revo. I bought it with intentions of it being supported by Valetudo, but honestly… the app works, the HA integration works. I have a geofence that runs the full vac/mop when I leave in AM thru HA. I trigger a night mop of kitchen at 1am via HA. I have automations that notify on the TV when the buckets need to be filled/dumped. I’m planning to 3D print replacement buckets with auto fill and dump — this is my only issue… needs that water and dumping based on size of house and how often you run the mop.

Just an observation, doesn't mean it's not easy or doable. Just means it's not plug & play in terms of what that actually means. Plug & play means in this case that you add the vacuum to HA and it immediately fetches all available information including created routines. All you then need to do is to show that information on a card for example. Just pointing out what the term means. Looks like it requires a bit of effort to get going, which doesn't mean it's going to be hard, but it means it's not p&p. Apologies for the seemingly snarky remark.

To really get value out of a robotic vacuum the key is to not buy the cheapest or second cheapest option. Get a vacuum with radar or LiDAR with room mapping. I have a Roborock QRevo with the mop option and I really, really like it. I’m able to map rooms, even on different floors, control both vacuum and mopping levels, and easily fence off areas and objects including setting up custom cleaning routines for a room or multiple rooms. Whereas I also have the base model Roomba and it only vacuums and crashes about my house like a drunken fool. It has very limited radar sense and relies on bumpers to “feel” its way around. I’m not saying no to the Roomba brand only that a cheap base model of any brand has big drawbacks. You can often find really good deals for Roborock on Amazon. Just use camel camel camel to price watch and alert you.

I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. Another thing is, with the eufy if you spill something, or just want to do a cleaning after cooking something, it's super simple and quick to just walk over to the base, press the play button and have it do a quick run. With my Q Revo I have to go find my phone, open the app, select a mode, and then click start. It's more involved and requires enough steps that I often forget to do it until later on. What I think the eufy needs that would help a lot with really stuck on stains though, is a deep mopping mode where it increases water usage. I suspect that will likely get added with a future update. Regarding the non-lifting vacuum roller, from all of the reviews I've seen it doesn't really get dirty unless it goes over a wet mess that has chunks in it like tomato sauce. But even then, from the reviews where I've seen it pickup freshly spilled milk, peanut butter, etc., the only thing that left (a minor amount of) residue on the vacuum roller was the tomato sauce chunks. Jamie Andrews review will be out in a few days and I'm hoping he tested this more.

I commented above with a counterpoint as to why really stuck on stains aren't super realistic though. I'll repost that here in case you didn't see it: >I'm of the opposite opinion and my reasoning is this: when you run these robots on a daily schedule, there's never times for stains to set and get as stuck on as they do in that german video. Another good thing with the eufy and its roller mop, is that it also cleans much, much faster than other robovacs since it doesn't have to ever go back and wash the mops. I've seen a few reviewers mention it doing a full clean almost 2x faster than other botvacs. This stood out to me because sometimes I'll put off running my Q Revo solely because I know it can take a while and is loud, which is annoying to hear going for a long time while I'm in the room... and then I forget to run a cleaning session after. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Haha well that's more of a me problem because of my ADHD/ADD. If I don't immediately go get my phone when a spill happens, open the app, switch modes to only do "Kitchen", and start a cleaning, I'll completely forget about it until hours later. Even worse, sometimes I WILL go get my phone, but then get distracted by a notification or text, reply to it, and then lock my phone... without starting the cleaning! 😂 With the S1 Pro's base being at arm level and right between my kitchen/living room, I'd pass it when leaving the kitchen and could easily tap the play button to have it clean everywhere since it has great obstacle avoidance. It seems minor, but the simplicity of that one step process with a physical button and no distractions is perfect for someone like me. With the Q Revo's terrible terrible obstacle avoidance, I can't just open the app and click the big start button without first pre-cleaning and removing any cables from the ground so it doesn't get caught on them (it broke a lamp by doing this before). It's overall a more involved process that I often will put off until later... and forget about lol.

I agree, I have no idea why they’re using such an inferior system on their most expensive bot. Seems a bit lazy of them to not try and innovate like Eufy did. That was me in the Discord, by the way. :) My Q Revo was visibly making my white tile floors looks dingy and dull even with daily 2x mopping using their detergent with max water usage and frequent mop washing. For the past 3 weeks the S1 water has been very dark, but now it’s finally starting to lighten up and the floors look brighter than they ever have before. I truly have never been so impressed.

I'd say you could do even less than u/thisisreadonly2 suggested. I've had my S1 Pro for a month now have done the bare minimum: rinsed off the dirty water tank filter once, rinsed the mop tray twice, and I just cleaned out the vacuum filter today. I've never cleaned out the dirty water tank or even felt the need to since it hasn't developed any nasty smells (the ozonated water really does work at sanitizing!). Same goes for the roller mop, I've looked at it a few times over the past few weeks and it also still looks brand new, so I've never felt the need to clean it myself. Compared to my Q Revo, this is proving to have far less maintenance needed and I honestly abuse this thing lol. This past weekend I had friends over and a few open cans of beer/white claw got knocked over. I put the S1 on the lowest suction (to prevent any liquid from getting sucked into the dustbin, worked great) and it cleaned up all of the spilled drinks perfectly with zero stickiness on the floors. I seriously love this thing.

I'm not sure what is actively considered a top vacuum but something I've learned the hard way is to make sure the robot has a setting to empty the dustbin periodically or else it will go through a whole run, then try to empty the dustbin and the charging station will get clogged trying to suck the large clump of hair into the dust bag. I have a qrevo and really love the robot but the fact roborock doesn't currently have an option to empty the dustbin every 100 sqft or so, means that I have had to set up separate schedules for each room so it goes back to the dock to empty the dustbin between each room. It's frustrating.

No, not really. I do not recommend buying one. I've had a number of bots over the years, currently the original Q Revo is my main bot. Its works well, except for 1) edge mopping 2) cables dislodge the spinning mops. I've had an iRobot M6 since it was first released. Its more reliable, user friendly than the Vortex (and I don't like the M6 all that much either.)

I have the QX revo bought from Costco. The ultra looks like a lot more suction, but it's not necessary for my floors. The software may be better , my only complaint about the QX revo is that if you say go clean the house it never empties the dust bin until the end. It's not programmable either. The Ultra may have that ability to program frequency of emptying the dust bin? But for that price difference it better do a lot more!

I bought the Q Revo two months ago and kept it for a month. When the Pro version came out, I returned the Revo and purchased the Pro. It's a fantastic vacuum (I upgraded from the S7; I've also owned a Roomba). For me, the Pro was worth the extra cost because of the flexible mop. The regular Q Revo can't get within a few inches of the edge of a wall, and for me, that was important. No other noticeable differences between the two models for me besides the flexi mop. I know the pro has more suction, but that wasn’t a deal breaker for me because my house is 90% hardwood.

I've done a lot of research these past few days and ended up buying a Q Revo (just arrived actually, about to set it up) - but that was mainly because it was on sale and a lot cheaper than the Dreame equivalent (which would be the L10s Ultra). They seem about the same. The Roborock having a better app experience and the Dreame being better at avoiding obstacles. Keep in mind they were both startups funded by Xiaomi really. But yeah, from what I've read people do complain a bit more about Dreame but in general they actually seem very solid. I did factor in that in my country Roborock is still a lot more common so getting bags and the like might be easier.

I have a Q Revo and run 5 days per week and mop 2 days per week. The waste water tank has a bit of sludge when I dump it into the toilet. I rinse it with fresh water and put it back into the base station. If I had my old dogs, I'd vacuum first and mop second on the same frequency. That way, most of the actual dirt goes into the bag, not into the waste water tank. Dumping the water and rinsing the tank is not a big deal. Floor is very clean. One thing I really appreciate is the removable tray in the base station where the bot rests when emptying the first, waste water and cleaning the mop pads. That has to be cleaned. Since it's removable it's easy to clean. If it wasn't removable I'd have to get on my hands and knees to clean

This is cool, but I'm not sure how useful it is. Maybe instead of simply positive or negative, it could drill down into more specific, e.g. "Good for pets?", "Good for carpets", "Easy to maintain", "Easy to use app" etc. For example, the obstacle avoidance in the Q Revo which has the highest rating here is pretty terrible. It will easily drive through pet waste spreading it all over your home and basically destroying the robot. I have two Q Revos, but no pets :)

I had the Ecovacs X1 Omni and it was a good mop/vacuum overall but the software drove me crazy to the point where I had to return it. I have a Roborock QX Revo now, and the software is way better. I haven't done a side by side to test which was better at cleaning but the Ecovacs either had a way larger battery or used less battery because I used to use it on my second floor (all carpet, except the two washrooms) and would do the 3 bedrooms with two passes and the rest only one pass and it still had battery left. Setting up the Roborock the same way with the same suction setting, I can't even finish the entire floor with one pass everywhere.

As a qrevo owner, I'd get that if you aren't willing or able to find a spot for the auto drain then I'd either reduce the amount of cleaning (or do it when you're not at home). That said spinning heads are very good at mopping and I make sure not to put stuff around since it will get stuck at a left over cable.

Hi all, I’d like to know, is the Reactive AI (with rgb camera) actually much better than ReactiveTech? At the moment I have a Q Revo and it’s quite good, it is able to avoid most of the the objects in my house. But it struggles particularly with “low and flat“ objects. In particular this one, which is similar to a U shaped chair: https://preview.redd.it/suvutwjl6wne1.jpg?width=4032&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3f064284593fd32eeb31bffbcf7a05b6278d1d89 He tries to climb over, got stuck, then turns back and so on, a mess… Do you think Reactive AI robots like Curv, Edge, Slim or the new Saros could handle this? Can they recognize the obstacle (taking a photo) and maybe you can tell the robot to avoid it at all?

Ok, I'll just make a list, forgive me if I'm wrong. **QX Revo:** `-Only Reactive Tech obstacle avoidance(worst obstacle avoidance of the 3)` `-No mop that extends to the edge of walls` `-No sweeping brush that extends to the edge of walls` `-Cold water mop washing` `-No AI smartplan` `-No pet finding features` `-No sensor in dock to find out how dirty the mop is` `-No anti tangle main brush and side brush` `-Normal laser sensor that can't retract to allow the robot to go under low furniture` **Qrevo MaxV:** `-ReactiveAI obstacle avoidance(uses a camera. mediocre, but works better than reactive tech)` `-Mop that extends to the edge of walls` `-No sweeping brush that extends to the edge of walls` `-Hot water mop washing` `-AI smartplan` `-Pet finding features` `-Sensor in dock to tell how dirty mop is` `-No anti tangle main brush and side brush` `-Normal laser sensor that can't retract to allow the robot to go under low furniture` **QX Revo ULTRA:** `-ReactiveAI 3.0 obstacle avoidance(supposed to be good, best out of the 3 vacuums here)` `-Mop that extends to the edge of walls` `-Sweeping brush that extends to the edge of walls` `-Even hotter mop washing than Qrevo MaxV` `-AI smartplan` `-Pet finding features` `-Sensor in dock to tell how dirty mop is` `-Anti tangle main brush and side brush` `-Retractable laser sensor that lowers the height of the robot to 3.14 in to let the robot go under low furniture` TL;DR the QX Revo has the least features out of the 3, lacking hot water mop washing, edge extending mop pads, camera based obstacle avoidance, pet finding features and a dirty water sensor in the dock, however it still washes and dries the mop. The Qrevo MaxV adds all of these features that I listed above, however its obstacle avoidance is apparently middling. The QX Revo Ultra takes all of the features from the MaxV, but adds hotter mop washing, anti tangle brushes, and better obstacle avoidance and a retractable laser sensor to let the robot go under lower furniture. Sorry for this extremely long and boring list to read, hope it helps though

So I bought a q revo and dreame l10s and compared them directly and ended up keeping the l10s because it seems to do a better job of mopping (and is willing to mop in skinnier areas of my hard floor around rugs). I don't mind the worse app with dreame, it's completely usable and reliable, just with weird translations. I genuinely like the roborock carpets first feature but I don't miss it with scheduling. If you can afford the l40 ultra, that's what I would buy for the best features (hot water mop washing, self cleaning washboard, water turbidity sensor, mop extend & lifting brush, hair cutting roller). How much more expensive are the premier q revo models in your area (the master, slim, edge, curv)? If theyre the same price (or you can afford the slight increase) I'd get those for the best of both worlds: premier features and the superior roborock app.

More than a vacuum without a dirty water tank, but really not that much. I can’t say I feel a noticeable difference in the time I spend on it compared to the Q Revo and J7 I had before. There are more parts, but the vacuum is designed quite well, so all remove/replace operations are easy. The house is mopped 3x a week and vacuumed 5x/week. This is what I do every weekend: - Empty and rinse the dock dirty water tank, fill the clean water tank, put both back. - Remove the vacuum from the dock. Take out and rinse the mop washing tray. - Take off the top cover. Take out dust bin, bang out the filter, rinse both and leave out to dry. - Take out the dirty water tank, remove the main filter and three small filter plugs, rinse all out and leave out to dry. Flip the vacuum upside down. - Take out the vacuum brush, remove hair from both ends, rinse and leave out to dry - Slide off the mop roller, rinse and leave out to dry - Remove side brushes, remove hair tangles, put back on - After a few hours of drying time, reassemble everything. I also plan to take out and clean the caster wheel once every couple of months, but haven’t gotten to that point yet. So far, these operations take me maybe 15 minutes once a week, probably less.

The comment about robot vacuums only being for small places is probably based on the old random pattern robots. Most robots now map and do well in large houses. It sounds like most mapping robots would work for you, since you don't want mopping, have hardfloors, and no pets. So anything with lidar (prefered) or vslam navigation. Obstacle avoidance might be a useful feature for cords, shoes, toys etc. left on the ground. It might be worth looking into a Eufy L60, iRobot Roomba j series, Roborock Q series, or shark. I'm biased because I have three robot vacs (Roborock S6, Ecovacs x1 omni, and iRobot Roomba j5+ combo) and my roomba j5+ is the only one that is reliable and working at the moment
