I'm in the same boat. Got S5V off Amazon when on sale. Was really really good but sadly there was a problem with one of the wheels. It wasn't moving freely. Decided to send it back and try Eufy. I think Roborock was much better, better navigation, app. The only thing I thought it was bad at, corners. Its side brush simply didn't reach into corners. Wanted to get it again, but it's gone up in price to £599 which I'm not paying. It's really strange that Roborock only offers one model in UK with extendable side brush, Saros 10. Currently on offer at £799 but still, not paying that. Looks like USA has so many models to pick, plenty with extendable side sweepers. We've also tried Q10 with self emptying dok. Worked great first day, next day didn't want to connect to app, kept saying it's offline. 35 s is on offer now, but seems downgraded in many aspects compare to S5V. Worse brushroll, no hot air drying, less power on paper.
I got the Roborock QV 35S, seems really good and the brush is easy to remove to get long hair off if it gets clogged. I have hard wood and carpet and it does both, and I can take it upstairs and then start it and it will map and clean upstairs Was £299 a couple weeks ago.
If they all cost the same, go for the Dreame L10s Ultra Gen 2. It has the highest suction at 10,000 Pa (higher than the Roborock QV35s at 8,000 Pa and the QV35a at 7,000 Pa), an excellent dual mop system with auto-wash and dry, AI obstacle avoidance, and one of the best mopping systems available. The Roborock QV35s is still a fantastic option, with strong 8,000 Pa suction, Roborock’s superb app, reliable dual mop system, and great mapping. If you prefer Roborock’s ecosystem or app design, it’s a great pick — just know it has slightly less suction than the Dreame. The QV35a is essentially a QV35s with 7,000 Pa suction. It’s only worth it if it’s meaningfully cheaper. The Q Revo Plus is older, with 5,500 Pa suction and fewer advanced features, so it’s a step behind these newer models.
I just got the QV35s and it does not pick up dog hair at all!
The qrevo s5v is the current best in the sweet spot pricing imo. The q10 s5+ is great for vacuuming performance but will have hair problems and it's garbage for mopping. The qv 35s is priced more where you want but the vacuuming performance is a little worse and the roller is one of their worst imo. The s5v has the duo divide which is a big improvement.
While I do not want to put you off getting a robot, let me try and point out some considerations I think you should be going through. I think the most important starting point is to understand that those robots are good for a general maintenance style of cleaning. They are not that good at doing that great as getting your home spotless clean. Is that what you are looking for or are you hoping for something more? Also I feel it is important to select if you care about a model that is mainly about hoovering up dust/dirt or if the wet mopping is (at least) of equal importance to you. My experience is that decent wet mopping will increase the price tag, while vacuum is much less challenging and is done decently by nearly any model at any price point (if we speak about the large companies like Roborock, Dreame, Mova etc.). You mention that you have carpets. Are they long/high ones? Would you be okay that they might get slightly damp in some places? If they have long strands hardly any robot will be able to do them decently (many also potentially will not be able to do them at all). If it is a normal type of room carpet (sorry, not a native speaker so my term might be off but I hope you get the jist), most robots will do a decent job of hoovering them. Skirting boards and a small strip around them boards will remain untouched, simply due to the construction of the robot. Can this be a problem for you or would you accept that? Now regarding the mops and carpets. Would you be okay if the mops might (in spots) slightly touch and dampen the carpet or would this be a big problem? If it is a problem you would need to look at a model that can either deply some kind of plastic shield or leave the mops in a docking station. You speak of hard flooring. How delicate is the material? Are we talking very robuts (e.g., tiles), is it something moisture sensitive (e.g., laminate), hardwood flooring etc.? So depending how aggressive you can be different mopping technologies can be good or not be advised. So, after that wall of text, would I still recommend a robot to you? Yes, definately. I love our robot and would really hate it if we would not have it. But our floors are simple in the sense that it is hardfloor and hard wearing so hoovering is simple and in terms of mopping we can be nearly as aggressive as we like. While I personally am looking forward and hoping for the QRevo Curv 2 Flow (hhttps://global.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-curv-2-flow) I feel that something like the QV35s (https://uk.roborock.com/products/roborock-qv-35s-robot-vacuum-with-multifunctional-dock-3-0) would be a better starting point with slightly less money invested.
