That's completely logical. Well, logic. Here's what I would say in response to that. I'm a real nerd about the sweeps. And so roborock redesigned them this year and I was fascinated as to why because they went from a three-arm sweep to a two-arm curved sweep. They spent tons of time researching of course and testing etc. To arrive at this decision. Fine. Last month I test this new robot, the 3i and it has two of the largest most obnoxious looking three-armed sweeps at the front and unlike the roborocks, they're in constant contact with the floor. Well they work better than anything else that I've tried. And so when I unboxed the e25 and e28 and saw the same design I thought, oh well. These are also going to be highly effective. But they're not. So I think it's a combination of the hardware but also all the other factors involved including the triad of sweep, suction and roller, and in terms of the mop, how much downward pressure is being exerted on that mop head. There was something about the vibrations in those mop pad models that just make them more effective at getting dirt out. It doesn't make sense, it just is.
Water consumption relates to many factors, and you can select a water level of low, medium, or high. I haven't done specific testing, but the roller mop probably saves more water compared to a normal mop. For the same stubborn stains, like mud prints, the E28/25 is certainly more effective than the Freo Z, as it can clean them up in one go.
Its main brush is different from regular brushes; the E28/25's brush is separate. After each cleaning, it returns to the base station automatically pushes the hair to the center and detangles it. It depends on whether other brands have a similar design, or it is hard to find that feature across different brands.
Roller mop > spinning mop > vibrating mop. Vibrating mops lack edge cleaning and usually can’t hold as much dirt. Spinning pads can clean edges well, but they clean by spinning and trapping dirt then going back to the base station to clean the dirt before going back out and trapping more dirt. Roller mops have a clean and dirty water tank and is continually adding clean water water and scrapping off dirty water into the dirty water tank. They are hands down the best for mopping but are still newer and there are less models available currently with more coming. As for rollermop suggestions, the Eufy S1 pro is great. The E28/25 is now out though and has the same rollermop design but better edge cleansing. Narwal and Mova are releasing new ones this year with the Flow supposedly coming out in June. For 1k i would stay away from ecovacs and Yeedi. Too many issues with hardware and software with iffy support. You can do better for 1k. This is a personal opinion bur 1k for a vibra mop should be illegal lol.
Well, for starters you mention laminate floors and I know you might not think you want a mop however, most robot vacuums can’t get all of the fine dust/debris. The mop in my opinion is a MUST have. Especially for hard floors. The difference it makes is huge. Half decent mopping robot vacuums nearly replace the need for you to do anything to your floors. Costco has a decent $400 bundle for a Roborock. Is it the best? Nah. But it’s a good model that vacuums, mops, self cleans, good return options and Costco support which arguably makes up for anything else. Eufy, Roborock, narwhal. Either of these brands have some options in your price range especially if you up the budget. But the quality seems to take a big leap up around the $400-500 range over cheaper options. The way I view it. How much are you willing to spend to have a daily house cleaner come take care of your floors for years to come. You get what you pay for. The $400+ range is just long term, better value.
We have one of Roomba's distant cousins, Roborock, and named him Jarvis. He's a bit naughty though, and keeps getting stuck on things he shouldn't, but he works hard and he's a godsend, TBH, keeping the house clean during the week.
