Roborock S5Max been going strong for 5 years now.
r/smarthome • What is the Best Robot Vacuum that Homeowners absolutely love and recommend? ->I ordered a Dreame L40 for myself (arriving today). It’s a refurb from their EBay store for $450, as I didn’t read about getting one so cheap from their physical stores until afterwards. The refurb comes with a 2-year warranty through Allstate. I picked this model for good obstacle avoidance and edge cleaning at a fairly low price. I did need to order the tricut brush separately, as my house has 2 long-haired cats and 2 long-haired humans. This brush is designed to cut long hair so it doesn’t wrap around it (which is a problem for every vacuum I own—I’m very curious to see how well this works). I currently have a four year old Roborock S5Max. It still works great, but it lacks obstacle avoidance, and I’m not good at keeping the floor clear. I wanted to stay with Roborock, as I’ve had a good experience with them and replacement parts are easily found cheap on Ali Express, but getting all the features I wanted was going to be over budget. If you’re a Costco member, they have one of the Roborock Qrevo models for about $500. It has great reviews but lacks the more advanced obstacle avoidance that was a top priority for me.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me pick one please for two disabled women ->I had a midrange roborock s5max for about 4 years. Just upgraded it because I wanted obstacle avoidance and self emptying. I bought a midrange dreame l20 I don't regret it.but the feature i wish I had but wasn't willing to pay for was the extendable corner brush. It wasn't worth $400 to me. It is also so careful with the object avoidance that it won't go into areas that were easily cleaned by my less fancy old robot that i still run sometimes for that reason. It's also very slow but i don't know if that's all object avoidance vacs or if newer higher tier ones are faster. I owned a dreame l10 ultra for a few weeks and returned it because the lack of led lights meant the obstacle avoidance camera couldn't detect in the dark.
r/RobotVacuums • [deleted by user] ->I have 3 cats in a 1600 sq ft house. Just bought the $500 Roborock from Costco and am so far super happy. I was going to do the next one up, but figured I’d try this first. I had a roomba years ago and this is sooo much better. Life changing actually. Once it dies maybe I’ll get the step up, but so far super happy with this model. Costco also has a decent return policy if anything begins to malfunction.
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->10/10 Roborock from Xiaomi I’ve had the S5 for a few years now. I’ve been eying off the S7 and now S8, with their significantly upgraded docking system, but I just can’t fault the performance of the one I have and am waiting until it stops working to upgrade.
r/AusPropertyChat • Anyone here use robot vacuums? Recommendations? ->I have Rockrobo S5 and Dreams Z10Pro. Rockrobo is a decent vacuum for its price but completely useless as a mop, Dreame is an awesome vacuum but only usable as a mop
r/homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->all my roborocks (5,6 and 7s) work great with HA
r/homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums that work with HA in 2024. ->I just bought a Roborock mop and vacuum from Costco and love it. Huge upgrade from my old Roomba. It self empties and washes the mops. All you do is refill water and empty dirty water. With your budget you can even afford the upgraded model that cleans with hot water and is better in the corners . Go for it!
r/homeautomation • Wife says it's time, what's the best robot vacuum? ->I thought the same until I tried a mopping robo. Having your floors mopped twice a week while you’re at work is priceless. You can still do some extra mopping once a month if you feel the need.
r/homeautomation • Wife says it's time, what's the best robot vacuum? ->I'm on my second roborock, a Qrevo C. Had an S5 Max with a battery that wasn't holding charge well. It is over 3 years old. My first robot was an Ecovacs. Had pretty much constant errors, when I picked it up to clean sensors it wanted to remap again. I sent it for service, got it back 2 weeks later and it was worse. Got one minute off the dock, complained of dirty sensors, picked it up to clean it, started remapping again. I returned it, was only 4 months old. Just junk! Been with roborock since and the model I have now is amazing. I'll never change. Their app is far superior to what I had with Ecovacs, especially for map editing. I can't comment on the Dreame.
r/Roborock • Our first robot vacuum: Roborock Qrevo S or ECOVACS T20 Omni or Dreame L10s Ultra ->That's what we do with the same vacuum. If I miss a day I have to run it 2x. Or sometimes I'll just run it twice in a single day if our two dogs (labs) have been playing indoors a lot or it's shedding time.
r/homeautomation • Looking for a robot vacuum that's good for a home with two dogs. Any suggestions? ->I have the S5 Max, I think it is simmilar to the S7 and S8 software wise but I am not 100%. From my understanding the brains of the operation is all contained within the Vacuum. I think mine still works without internet by pressing the power button at the top, to have it start cleaning, however I am not sure if that works for initial setup or not. The first initial setup needs it to map out the floor, I don't know what the power button does if it doesn't have a mapped out floor to clean. If that does works it would be extremely limiting to what you can actually do without the app/internet. The power button just cleans the entire floor once. Your need the app to setup schedules, rooms, no-go zones, no mop zones etc... If you use the Mi Home app and not the Roborock app you can use the Xiaomi integration with home assistant. I believe that is local pulling. (But I have not tried it without internet). https://www.home-assistant.io/integrations/xiaomi_miio Although for me that was probably one of the hardest integrations that I have setup. Lots of trial an error figuring out what the rooms numbers were and the coordinate system.
r/homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Look at Vaccumwars on Youtube, they do good testing on Vaccums that you can pick what best fits your needs and budget. Roborock was the gold standard years ago when I was looking. I got two S5 and have been happy with them. My biggest complaint is they get stuck more often then I would like. Mostly on items left out on the floor. I think the new vacuums with cameras in theory should avoid obstacles. A lot of changed over the years so I am probably out of date. I have heard good things about Eufy and Shark. Roomba was recently reported to be having financial struggles on their 2024 financial report. That might be a little bit risky since it is dependent on cloud connectivity.
r/homeautomation • Whats the best robot vacuum for an average home? ->Roborock s5 Max, I think I’ve been using it for around 5 years and still working great and going strong. Even got better with some app upgrades.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->I’ve been looking forward to your review of the deebot x8. However I couldn’t wait long enough lol. Upgraded from a 6 year old Roborock s5 max. Decided to go with the yeedi s14 plus, which is identical to the deebot x8 except for AI, camera feed, and detergent dispenser. Honestly I am floored (haha) with the upgrade to the s14 after having dealt with the s5max for almost 6 years. I was constantly emptying the dust bin manually and setting up and cleaning up the “mop” pad. Feel like I actually have a robot vaccum now that I have the Omni station and an actual usable mop. The mop roller on the yeedi was a big factor. I have not been impressed or interested in the spinning mop disc pads on most other options though I was hoping for Roborock to make the switch. The Vacuum portion and suction work as expected and side brush gets most edges and corners. Lot of hate for ecovacs on the internet, which is funny because most of those same people and reviewers (looking at you Just a Dad) give props to yeedi even though they are the same robots. 10/10 would recommend Yeedi s14 plus
r/RobotVacuums • Sneak Peek: Vacuum Wars Review of the Ecovacs Deebot X8 Pro Omni ->I love my Roborock S5 MAX, with mopping cloth. I usually run it once without cloth and second time with it. No camera, just lidar.
r/homeautomation • Whats the best robot vacuum for an average home? ->I have the same one. His name is Steve. It’s handy to send him around once a day to stay on top of the pet fur.
r/malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly picked during this time period? ->I come from an s5max, which vacuumed, but the mop only wet the floor. The aspiration of the s8, mine is basic, only with a charging base, is infinitely better. The mop cleans the floor, not to give it a 10, but a 6, compared to the 1 for the s5max. I clean the mop with detergent every time I scrub, empty the chicken and refill the tank, it's a bit tedious, but I didn't dare to buy the complete set. The design of the s8 is for the complete game, since the water and chicken tank are very small. I'm quite happy, I spend it about three times a week and I haven't gone back to work myself. I bought another roborock for my mother, the Qrevo pro set, for about €600 and it is much better than the basic s8.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->Hello, everyone. I've had the MOVA P10 Pro Ultra since the start of this month. I was just curious if anyone else is having a similar issue. Since the first day, I would say about 40 to 50 percent of the time the vacuum fails to function correctly. Basically, it will randomly stop in place with the side brush still spinning (I think the mop pads and vacuum motor stop though) for about 15 to 30 seconds and then the side brush stops spinning and the light on the power button turns off and all three buttons light-up. If I push the power button the vacuum will start cleaning, but it does not remember where it has previously cleaned and it does not create a log in the cleaning history. Additionally, if I remember correctly the app indicates that the vacuum is charging at its charging station after this happens. My best guess is that something is overheating as I have noticed that the issue seems to happen with greater frequency if I restart the vacuum after it fails to clean. For reference my house is approximately 900 square feet and I have noticed that it generally fails partway through the second room. I have reached out to MOVA support and I did receive a prompt response to check that the battery has enough power (not the issue), Fully charge the robot before using it again (didn't help), and lastly to check sleep mode by pressing and holding the power button. If I press and hold the power button the vacuum just turns off? I will send another update to them, but ultimately I think that I got a dud and I am going to return it. Other than the fact that the vacuum does not always function.... I do like it... lol. My only other vacuum is the Roborock S5 max. It has been relegated to the basement. It has been an excellent vacuum, but I just finished refinishing my hardwood floors and I wanted something that could mop. It does a great job cleaning; I can't comment on carpet though as I don't have any. I think that the ai obstacle avoidance is a little to sensitive. For example, I have floor protectors on all of my furniture and the vacuum sometimes identifies those as cords; this causes it to avoid the area around that 'obstacle'. This area then does not get cleaned; not really a big deal as it generally only identifies 3 of the 14 floor protectors. Additionally, because my floor has color variations the vacuum sometimes mistakenly identities spills and it will stop the side brush and I think that it also stops the vacuum suction (to avoid creating a mess with the non existent mud/liquid). I wish there was a way to adjust the ai obstacle avoidance, but for the price I think it is an excellent vacuum assuming my current issue gets fixed.
r/RobotVacuums • [Early Look] MOVA P10 Pro Ultra - The New Value Champion! (Vacuum Wars Preview) ->Roborock S5 max. Working for the last 4 years everyday. I have a lot of cats, so it's heavy work every time. I also can disassemble and reassemble it. Not that hard, there are clear videos for it. I really think it is a good piece of engineering. Worth the price I paid at the time. I am lurking for its replacement but it can still go on for a few years I think. Maybe there will be a roborock for stairs at this point!
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop IYO? Is it really worth its expensive price tag you paid? ->Got the ecovacs T30 Omni pro. Does a good job on a big floor with lots of cats. But it's only a month old. Previous roborock S5 max worked for 5 years and was robust (but the wheel entangled in something and I couldn't fix it... ). But we never used the mop on it.
r/homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Robot Vacuum Mop today? ->I have a Roborock s5 max and it has been running daily for YEARS. I dislike that maps are (only?) stored server side, but I can't argue the value for the 200 I spent. no camera of course, it really doesn't need it.
r/LinusTechTips • Robot vacuum thoughts (Eufy) ->I got my Saros 10R yesterday around this time (purchased it myself). I'm upgrading from a S7 Max V. Had a Neato D7 before that and a Robock S5 Max and very briefly a Dreame X40 that broke. [https://i.imgur.com/NwJO3iC.png](https://i.imgur.com/NwJO3iC.png) **Few things before I go into it:** I live in a relatively small home. My first floor is mostly hardwood/tile with a 15x20' area rug in the living room. My second floor is all deep carpet. I have a long haired German Shepherd and a wife that both shed a fair amount of longish hair. I keep my rooms mostly tity but my computer does have a fair amount of cables/wires that are wrapped together, but run along the floor. My wife also has a Korg keyboard that has a foot pedal and she often leaves it on the ground. **Super Pros:** * General hardwood/tile mopping significantly better than the S7 Max V. My wife and I both noticed it immediately after the first clean I ran. It covered more areas, got closer to objects (the pivoting side mop helps a lot with that) it reached under my cabinets and it was able to get under two pieces of furniture the S7Max couldn't fit under. * Low Pile Rug performance is much better. I do wish I could set it to 2x crisscross every time on the area rugs.. but the mixed pattern will have to do. * It's way, way, way quieter. General runs are quieter. Max+ mode (or w/e its called) is way quieter. Mopping is now nearly silent. The transfer from robot to base is much quieter than the S7 MaxV. * The Anti-Tangle brush is actually Anti-Tangle. All my previous vacuums would get hair tangled in a single run - I'd clean them at least once a week (neato way more) to get all the hair out. After 24 hours, I see 0 hair stuck. Not one. * The feature set is more rich over the S7 Max. This one is a think a bit annoying because I feel like a some of these features the S7 could do, its just software locked.. but having the ability to do pet area deep cleaning, mixed pattern cleaning, the rug options + all the leave behind the mops, extensions, re-mopping, etc is all really cool. * The detergent dispenser is a nice addition over the S7 MaxV. * The ability to clean out the tray and the self cleaning stuff is super nice. **Kind of Pros but maybe a little not:** * Hair Pickup on carpet is better than the S7 MaxV but still worse than the Neato D7. * I confirmed this by running the S7 Max V first (with rubber brush), on my upstairs carpeted room - that I purposely haven't vacuumed in a week. S7 Max V barely got anything and had some wrapped around the edges - as it does. The Saros 10R filled about a quarter of it's bin - but no tangles! The Neato filled the entire, much larger, bin, the chute partially jammed with hair and the bristle brush was wrapped completely. Neato is still king of deep carpet cleanup (if you ignore how jammed full of hair it gets) * I think the takeaway here is that the Saros 10R is big improvement but I find Roborock still lacks with hair pickup on deep carpets - even area rugs, to an extent.. over much older vacuums. * Pivoting Side Brush is good.. sometimes? When it works, it obviously works and pulls stuff out of corners, I don't find it working that often though - especially under the cabinets/corner cabinets. It comes outsometimes for a bit then goes away. (this is with the AI Lab Flexi arm thing enabled). * Navigation seems similar/better. In terms of actually going around and finding how to get there, it seems quicker (i haven't timed it) and it does less random movements like my S7 Max V did both during and after its cleaned. **Cons:** * The obstacle avoidance seems worse, maybe even way worse? I know it's only been 24 hours and I know the system the 10R specifically uses is new, but so far it's been pretty bad at detecting things, especially cables. * Yesterday when I was messing around with it, it ran into one of my dogs stuffed toys and got stuck on it. It also decided to "jump" little tray tables I have under my sofa, and got stuck on a wire behind them. (I set this as a no-go from now on). * This morning was the first time I ran it on a schedule - I do it early before I wake up, but I woke up to it stuck on the cable for my Wife's keyboard, the mop got wrapped in the cable and it pulled it off. * Just an hour or so ago today, when I was testing the carpet pickup on the second floor, it ran into a sock under my nightstand and got jammed. * Kind of disappointing considering my S7 Max V maybe got stuck twice, in the entirety of 2 years I owned it. I'm chalking this up to a combination of bad luck, weirdness because it's trying to hop stuff the others wouldn't attempt, and relatively new firmware on a new type of obstacle avoidance system. I hope it will improve. * All the Bins are too damn small. * My dog blows his coat twice per year. When that happens my S7 Max V can sometimes get nearly filled with dog hair. I've had to split rooms up into subrooms in order to force it to go back to the dock more often to empty. In this case - the Saros 10R not only has a smaller bin, but it's better at cleaning hair. I can see this being a problem. * It seems to use more water than my S7 MaxV while mopping, yet the clean and dirty bin are both smaller. Which means more refills. * The gloss on the front of the dock is a fingerprint magnet. I hate it. **Conclusion:** Overall, again after only 24 hours, I think its' a pretty nice upgrade over the S7 MaxV and I plan on keeping it. I'm hoping software improves the obstacle avoidance, which is my biggest concern at the moment. I also hope Roborock continues to improve it's suction/hair pickup performance - i really hope youtubers also create better tests for this. A lot of these guys say these newer robots are "perfect" at it and it's just not been my experience at all. They are getting better - in fact tangles seem solved, which is great, but they also leave a ton of hair behind.. even when compared to older robot vacuums but especially compared to a Dyson or something. **If anyone has any questions or wants anything specifically answered let me know ill do my best to respond.**
r/Roborock • Saros 10R 24 Hour Review ->While it worked I really enjoyed the X40. My biggest concern with these bots has been the hair pickup/tanglement issues. Ever since I got my Long Haired Shepherd - its been a battle to keep up with his hair. The Neato by far has the best PICKUP - but it was TERRIBLE with tanglement. The Brush would literally be covered in 2-3 days and need to be cleaned.. it would often jam after a week if I didn't clean it out. It also had no mopping capability, no obstacle avoidance, was loud as hell, the app sucked, etc. The S5 Max with the Bristle brush was decent at pickup - but it too would tangle and become a mess. That + the smaller bin would constantly need to be cleaned out. Mopping was okay but needing to manage it since no auto-dock wasn't fun. It was a great bot but I think the docking station stuff made the newer ones a massive step up in convenience. I still have my S5 Max though. The S7 MaxV had the worst hair pickup on carpets, with the stock rubber brush, of all the bots I ever owned. Tangles were minimal but it didn't do well taking hair off the carpets (it did great on the hardwood/tile though). Swapping out the rubber to the bristle brush improved the pickup but increased the tangle problem - it also created a problem with auto-empty for me a few times. Other then that i thought it was a great bot. The obstacle avoidance was great for my dog's toys. The mopping was good enough for the mud he would track in and stuff. It definitely was little loud but acceptable. Then I got the X40 with the Tricut brush. It had all the benefits of the bristle brush - performed similar to the S7 MaxV and the non-tanglement of the rubber brush. I'd still get tangles, but they were very very minimal - it did way better actually getting the hair off the carpet. I've read the X40 was better at obstacle avoidance but I really never had a problem with it on my S7 MaxV, so for me it was similar. Mopping and the cleaning of the mop pads was much better than the S7 MaxV. It was also quieter. I honestly would have kept the X40, as I loved it while it worked - but i ran into that docking problem and their support made me jump through massive hoops, spanning nearly 3 weeks, in order to get, what was initially just a replacement... but it was such a nightmare I ended up just telling them I wanted a refund, I didn't want the replacement anymore. And to be clear - it's entirely possible that Roborock's support is equally as bad, but I just haven't experienced that yet. And as it currently stands even the S5 Max still runs great 5 years later, despite having something like 1500 hours on it.
r/Roborock • Saros 10R 24 Hour Review ->Just sent my eufy back under warranty. Brush motor died in less than 5 months. My old Roborock s5 max is still working. Roborock lasts longer.
r/RobotVacuums • eufy Robot Vacuum Omni S1 Pro RDS or roborock S8 MaxV Ultra RDS? ->My only issue with my S5 max is it sucks (well, the opposite), going round corners. It consistently completely misses areas after a turn on certain corners. But the hacs roborock integration has made great progress on the integration side
r/homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums that work with HA in 2024. ->My S5 max still works fine for what I use it for
r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum wars and how fast you can lose money ->I‘m really happy with my roborock. I had the s5 max for the last 4(?) years and was really happy with it but decided to upgrade to the qrevo slim for all of it‘s functions. Now my parents have the s5 and are really happy with it
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->I‘m really happy with my roborock. I had the s5 max for the last 4(?) years and was really happy with it but decided to upgrade to the qrevo slim for all of it‘s functions. Now my parents have the s5 and are really happy with it
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->Can't seem to empty itself ever, the dust simply stays trapped in the onboard container. Leaves dust cigars around the place. Doesn't heat to the temperature advertised when mop cleaning. Navigation doesn't seem as good as my old S5 Max. Disappointed in it and trying to return it at present.
r/Roborock • What disappointed you the most with your Roborock S8 MaxV Ultra? ->I have the Roborock s7 ultra which self empties and has a special brush which my hair doesn’t get caught in. I had the Roborock s5 max previously and my hair always got trapped in the brush roll.
r/longhair • ROOMBA? ->I’m 5 years in with my s5 max, still works as a charm. Only changed brushes and filters.
r/Roborock • It's Here! Excited to share my review soon! ->Roborock S5 Max. It was my first and I still use it (5 1/2 years now). I want to buy a newer one just because I like upgrading stuff. But my problem is that all the newer ones seem to have those huge stations I have absolutely no need for. My S5 and its dock are located invisibly under my sofa and I want to keep it that way. I don't need self-emptying stuff. Mine parks itself in front of the kitchen bin two times a week after cleaning anyway.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->O Roborock S8 também faz pressão pra baixo pra passar pano. Esta pressão se iniciou no modelo S5 Max que era um mop fixo.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->Even ancient og Roborock S5 will absolutely outshine this thing. They can often be found used for like 80usd just because the included charger costs like 50usd and fits all roborocks. The S5 can be held alive forever with cheap original parts from AliExpress. If you have more cash then roborocks MaxV models often go used pretty cheap and especially the S7 MaxV is fenomenal.
r/RobotVacuums • I fucking hate this thing ->The price is really nice, but its also a very basic robot, basically a 2019 S5 Max with a few tweaks. I wouldnt bother with a autoempty station for it as my experience with S5/S6/S7/Q7 is that these are pretty dumb robots and very often get stuck somewhere or devour something and not make it back. From cheaper Roborocks the Q8 is pretty nice, it has obstacle avoidance and I was susprised how good it is even compared to much more expensive S8. It just does what it should and its pretty smart. They are 275USD here dont know how it is where you live.
r/Roborock • Should I buy Q7 without an emptying dock? ->Consider the Roborock S5 Max or the iRobot Roomba i3+. Both handle dog hair well on wood floors and offer app-based control with mapping features.
r/RobotVacuums • Dog Hair Vacuum for Wood Floors ->I have a s5 max that I bought used many years back, still rocking. Unless you need the fancy self emptying features or are a flubber that leaves a lot of stuff lying around or or have pets that leave surprises around that would need AI to figure out how to get around... you'd likely be fine with a last season's top model. Doesn't take an AI to draw a map of a single floor environment and clean it, just WiFi. Seriously. 🖖
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->I would say anything else than irobot will be a mayor upgrade. I switched now from a roborock S5 max to an Dreame x40 ultra and i am very pleased. One selling Point was that it can leave the mops at the base when he is vacuuming.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot mopper, robot vacuum (no budget restriction) ->Yeah it reduced the usefulness of my old roborock significantly.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot mopper, robot vacuum (no budget restriction) ->Roborock S5 max in 2019-ish. Still using it today, shockingly still with the original battery which still works fine. I did have to replace one wheel motor recently. I gifted 2 family members the same robot in 2020-ish, both of those are still going strong too. Not sure if the current crop of high end robots will be that reliable, so many things on those that can go wrong, but I honestly thought the same when I bought the S5 max.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->Fun fact, mine is a S5 max too, although I did replace one wheel motor and I suspect the lidar is on its last legs. Thing is, those robots are **simple** compared to modern higher end robovacs with a bazillion extra sensors, actuators, rotating or vibrating mops, self emptying and self cleaning docks. If reliability is your main concern, I would shop for something with as few of such features as possible.
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->This is my floor: https://preview.redd.it/ycl8553ion5f1.png?width=3407&format=png&auto=webp&s=e6076018641272098eaa745894430a5d9217f641 My grouts arent as deep as yours, but the tiles themselves are even less smooth. Ive been using an old RR S5 max for 6-7 years. It has a brush with bristles, it works fine. It wont get everything everytime on each pass, but thats also true for a handheld vacuum, and if you run it daily, it will be clean ( have no pets or kids, YMMV) Ive also tried with a rubber roller brush, as I was researching a new robovac and most these days have rubber rollers. I was concerned about streaking, but it seems to work about the same. Mopping is a different story. My floor is not sealed, so I have to be very light on water or it will dull the floor. I dont really use the robovac for that (yet. I have begun polishing with a special polish that contains silicone to make unsealed floors water repellent). But even if that was not a problem, I wouldnt expect my robovac to get good results. thick rotating mops probably your best bet.
r/RobotVacuums • What type of Vacuum + Mop for this kind of floor? ->My roborock S5 max is now getting 6 years old. Surprisingly, still on the original battery ( a new one is cheap when I need it). I did have to replace one wheel motor recently, that cost me 25 euro. 2 of my family members have the same robot and are about as old, and both still going strong. Newer robovacs have tons more features, and tons more things that can go wrong, but mine was state of the art when I bought it, and honestly I never expected it to outlive much more than its 2 year warranty period.
r/RobotVacuums • Wondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection? ->Yes they work. I love mine. I have a Roborock s5 max, 3 years old still going strong. Don’t really care if the Chinese government has a map of my house.
r/malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly picked during this time period? ->I'm looking to upgrade from my S5 Max... should I be blown away by the difference? We use our s5 max everyday, and have done for the past 6 years
r/Roborock • Saros 10R 24 Hour Review ->My neato D3 is still kicking. It actually cleans pretty well and the D shape of the robot I really think is what all vacs should be. But it's also a really dumb robot as you described. And my battery runs for like 20 min before it goes to recharge. I'm on an old roborock too, the S5 Max, and it's just miles ahead of neato sadly (apart from maybe the brush/D design)
r/Roborock • Any reviews on the Q Revo Pro? ->Make sure to disassemble the lidar and check the motor shaft, it attracts hair and slows it down, it also causes the rubber band to slip. And take a cotton q-tip and gently clean the lens.
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->Too bad, it worked for the older s5max. Hopefully it's resolved with the replacement.
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->We live near a beach so I need something with more power than my old reliable roborock s5 max as it needs two passes sometimes to pick up sand. And we just need something that mops for general maintenance of the floors and basic obstacle avoidance I guess, there’s sometimes towels or shoes on the floor we forget to pick up.
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->I guess I’m just trying to figure out something that no one knows how to figure out. If that makes sense 😅. I have a roborock s5 max that I want to replace with something that mops And i keep getting bad results.
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->wow! that's a lot of cleaning time. my roborock s5 is over 5 years old and has 1.5k hours on it. do you mop with everytime you use it? or mostly vac
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->I have a roborock s5 max that works perfectly for almost 5-6 years and I have an ecovacs t30 pro that I’ve had for the past six months or so and it’s now in repair under warranty for the third time. I’m trying to find a new robot with s5 max level of reliability and I don’t how.
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->That’s what I’m trying to figure out. I have two robots at home, one that is working flawlessly for the past 5-6 years (Roborock s5 max) and it’s replacement that I bought after reading reviews for a week or so (ecovacs t30 pro). The ecovacs has been a horrible experience, I have it for a little over six months and I just sent it in for repair for the third time. So I’m trying to find another Roborock s5 and not another ecovacs t30
r/RobotVacuums • What is the most reliable robot vacuum? ->We are not clever and called our first one Deebot, just the brand name, but Deebot is not a smart model, would randomly bounce around, and would get stuck EVERYWHERE and we would scold him all the time. After a fee years we bought a smart model, Roborock 5SMax. Her name is Maxine, or just Max. She is brilliant, though randomly she decides a spot on the floor is haunted and won't go there. 😂
r/adhdwomen • Why did no one tell me about robot vacuums!?! ->I have 3 robot vacuums and they all still work great. Roborock s5 max. I keep it in the bathroom, it’s great at picking up cat litter. Noisy. Roborock s8 handles the rest of the apartment. Vacuuming performance is excellent. Noisy. Roborock Q revo. Also in the main apartment area. Vacuum is okay, but the mopping is fantastic. A little noisy. Never had any trouble with any of them.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->Same here my s5 !is 6 years old and still working good. Just replaced filters and brushes.
r/Roborock • It's Here! Excited to share my review soon! ->Hi all, I know a lot of people are interested in this one, so I thought I'd give brief first impressions after the first day. We've had a [Roborock S5](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kz11eb/free_roborock_s5_needs_a_repair_paying_it_forward/) since 2019 but replaced it after the LDS stopped being reliable. I bought the E25 for £700, direct from Eufy. So very brief first impressions of the E25, after first setup and initial clean: Setup: * Box is bloody heavy. Be careful! * Setup is super slick and super easy - wifi connection and app setup was done in a few mins * The machine looks and feels well-built * The funny circular light under the clean water reservoir is annoying, and I wish it could be dimmed or turned off * The sticky labels on the top of the reservoirs (which explain how to use) have tabs as if they should be removed - but when you peel them off they leave yukky glue residue Mapping: * Amazing initial mapping experience * It tracked all the rooms and identified some of them (e.g., it knew one room was a bathroom - presumably using the AI camera to identify the toilet) * The 3D map is cool, but pointless * I needed to set up a no-go area and virtual wall and the first time I set it up, this just failed (click 'save', message says 'Failed', and no other feedback). After I re-mapped the house, it worked fine. Probably an app or wifi comms bug. Cleaning and vacuuming: * First clean took about an hour - 85m2, or so. * It's *very* quiet. Half the volume, or less, than the Roborock S5, which was a noisy sod. * Vacuuming seems very good - better than the S5 (but you'd expect so, as it has nearly 10x the suction Pa) * Mopping seemed good so far, and the water from cleaning was very muddy. Be interesting to see how much better the effect is when running regularly. * Overall clean was pretty good. There were a few tiny bits of debris missed in the corners under teh worktops, but I'm aware no robovac is perfect. Again, little and often * It did get stuck in a couple of places - one step was too high for it to get down (virtual wall placed to prevent this) and a narrow bit next to the toilet - it's about 8mm to wide to go all the way in, so I set up a no-go area. But avoidance generally seems good. Overall, very pleased. It'll be interesting to see how well it works once we've got the schedules running. Edit: one other plus. I was a bit concerned about the cost of bags for the base unit, but there's unofficial ones on amazon for about £14 for 10 bags, which seems reasonable. Better still, I went into the Eufy app tonight and it offered me a free gift in return for feedback. So I wrote some feedback and they gave a voucher for a free £16 pack of 3 official hoover bags. So at 75 days per bag, that'll last me at least until Christmas.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E25 First Impressions ->Sorry, nope. Plenty of YouTube people out there that are doing that. I'm not putting rice and sand on my rug and vacuuming it! Performance is fine though. Loads better than my old S5 Roborock even with it on max and the Eufy on the standard/quiet setting.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E25 First Impressions ->I've had my roborock S5 for like 7 years and it's still going strong. Recently had to replace the battery and a few years back replaced the lidar motor. And of course replace the brushes etc sometimes. Very easy and cheap to repair
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->Don't have pets but it cleans just as well as ever ✌🏼
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->I had a Qrevo Curv for almost 2 weeks. When it arrives I vacuumed all my apartment with Curv and then with my old S5. I attached an image with the S5 filter after full vacuuming after the Curv vacuum the same area. I expected S5 to get some dirt but not so much. https://preview.redd.it/3p4yx23c2n6f1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e583317de0212ac550d57f79ad68f750ae506539
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->I have an S5 with 557 hours. The frame holding the main brush needed to be glued after catching something it couldn't swallow and I replaced the lidar motor this summer. That's all.
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for home currently? ->The Z70 has "22,000 Pa" vs my S5's "2,000 Pa" - on paper the Z70 should crush it. But when I put my hand on the exhaust, way more air flows out of the S5. Turns out **Pa is just pressure, not airflow volume**. It's like comparing a leaf blower to an air duster - the leaf blower moves piles of leaves with lower pressure but high volume, while the air duster has crazy pressure but tiny volume (great for keyboards, useless for leaves). For actually picking up dog hair and debris, you need **air volume** (CFM) to lift and transport stuff into the vacuum. According to Vacuum Wars testing, the Z70 only moves 16 CFM while my S5 moves around 17-18 CFM - so my older vacuum actually has better airflow despite the lower Pa rating. So Roborock basically chased higher Pa numbers for marketing but sacrificed the airflow engineering that actually matters for cleaning performance. My 7-year-old vacuum has better real-world design than the newer model.
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->Roborock S5 was such a low complexity model, going strong for many years. Now with more recent models, vacuum-only limits the search to Q5, Q7, Q8. Most of these claim to be "vac + mop combo" but that's just a passive cloth dragged behind. Not really worth discussing. They all have very good mapping and navigation in common. Roborock is famous for that and even the cheapest model does the job well. So depending on what you want, what you actually need, you might be perfectly satisfied with a Q7 M5+ or Q8 Pro+. One thing to note, Spending more money on a Roborock doesn't automatically mean the robot would be built with higher quality and last longer. It has just more features then. More motors, more moving parts, more wear and tear. Second note, Prices do not necessarily reflect the value. Roborock has some strange pricing strategy that no-one understands. For example, Q5 Pro+ is currently at $600 which is insanely expensive and cannot be recommended right now. I guess there's some tariff glitch included whatever.
r/Roborock • What's Roborock's best vacuum-only model for long-term use? ->I have a five year old Roborock S5 and it can never get the dustbin more than half full of dog hair before it starts leaving it everywhere. Seems this hasn't changed. At least the newer units can empty themselves.
r/Roborock • Roborock QRevo Master honest review ->I owned a Roborock s5 (very old), an ecovacs t30 (which I wild very soon) and now a dreame L40. I would Go with dreame or Roborock because of the software. The ecovacs was the only one that got stuck (3 times a week).
r/Dreame_Tech • Our first robot vacuum: Roborock Qrevo S or ECOVACS T20 Omni or Dreame L10s Ultra ->My roboock S5 is still kicking after 5 years. I’ve replaced some components but I love the two I have.
r/homeassistant • For housekeeping, what are the best robot vacuum cleaner under 500$? ->I have a roborock s5 and a eufy. The roborock was my first and I only bought a new one because I’d wanted one that also mopped. The roborock is much better at picking up little bits on the ground and all the pet hair. The eufy leaves little pieces of hair on the ground when done. But since it has the mop and was a lot cheaper than a new roborock with a built in mop I decided to keep it. My older roborock (5 years old) still works great and is now in my finished basement. The eufy I got was x10 pro Omni and I chose it because it has two spinning mop head, separate dirty and clean water tanks, washes and dries the mop after each use. I do like it but I will eventually sell it and get a roborock s8 with 2 water tanks and dust collector.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums currently that you've tried and found really effective for daily cleaning? ->I've used roborock and it has been extremely solid, I had the s5, and I still use it in my garage, it's been going for 7 years or so. Now I've got the s7 and it just works, needs very little maintenance. Had it for 3-ish years now.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->Roborock s5 or any of the series. Great, powerful, smart
r/bernesemountaindogs • Robot vacuum suggestions ->QRevo has been great , has most of the top line functionality at a reasonable cost. Have two of them going on now. Our old S5 was still working great and relegated to basement now. Apart from accessories, the only thing I changed was the battery.
r/homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Recommendations Today for Busy Folks? ->Ok I have two roborocks. One upstairs on carpet that's an older s5 and one downstairs on tile that's a newer Qrevo 5 (I think). The one on tile also mops. They absolutely work. They're fantastic. I have 3 cats and walk around barefoot inside. There's basically only cat hair and crap (not literally) under the furniture where the robot can't reach. The mopping really works too. Like the dirty tank was black for 5 or so cycles and now it's a light brown.
r/homeautomation • Does a Robot Vacuum Make a Difference? ->Roborock s5 bought 12/2019 currently used daily to vacuum master bedroom 688 hours and 409k ft2 Roborock s7 maxv plus bought 12/2022 currently used to vacuum basement nightly 1592hrs and 866k ft2 Roborock s7 max ultra bought 7/2024 currently used to vacuum and mop main floor 1096hrs and 535k ft2 No significant issues with any of these. Have not had to repair or replace any parts except brushes and mop pads
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->For me, the one to beat is the Dreame X40. Rock solid performance. I hope it holds up as long as my pair or Roborock S5's did.
r/homeautomation • Does a Robot Vacuum Make a Difference? ->The reliability of Roborock seems good to me. First S5, now Q Revo.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum has the most robust software? ->Same with me, I have a S5 going strong, never replaced anything and it even fell from the balcony once
r/RobotVacuums • Wondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection? ->Not the best but I got a roborock s5 a few years back for around $250 so I'm sure it's way less now and it works pretty well. It has a mop but you have to manually change out (no fancy dock that auto empties). I'd look into a roborock s series or a revo series at that price point
r/homeassistant • Best robot vacuum for pet hair under $200 ->We have 3 cats and run it a couple times a week. The wife and I are happy with the results. Personally if I did it over again I would save and get the self emptying ones since I know I would run it way more if I didnt have to remove to clean the hair and stuff out after each run. Roborock is one of the top tier robot brands and the lidar on it means it is actually smart in its mapping. I assume most of them have this standard now but the no go virtual lines is a must. You can define certain spots for it to avoid in the app. Great if say you have a couch that the robot can fit into but gets stuck. You can just tell it to ignore that. In the past they gave you these rubber strips so it physically wouldnt go but it looked like hot garbage Also check out Vacuum Wars youtube channel. They do tons of indepth reviews
r/homeassistant • Best robot vacuum for pet hair under $200 ->Same. I got one for my work. It will do the job so we'll keep it, because work is typically not messy. But in a home? I would never get one for at home. It will get stuck on everything. And it has zero smarts to escape. My roborock S5 was better at avoiding obstacles, or at least getting unstuck after.
r/RobotVacuums • T50 Max Pro Omni is terrible ->Personally, I'd be very wary of Dreame, the software and firmware is terrible, only surpassed by Ecovacs. I've had both in the last month and they have been a mistake. My old Roborocks S5 would run rings around both for mapping and navigation. Obstacle avoidance is a nice to have but In my experience with Dreame, it's rubbish so far anyway; I'd rather just clear my cables away.
r/RobotVacuums • Help Me Choose Between Roborock S8 Max V Ultra and new Roborock Qrevo Edge ->Well, I've not owned those units, but what I have learned is, much the same as loads of technology these days, you often don't get what you pay for over and above a certain cost. Let's be honest, you can buy one hell of a normal vacuum for 500 quid, in fact you'd have to look pretty hard to spend that sort of cash on an upright vac. From where I'm standing, I don't see that much of an improvement gain on anything over 5-600 quid, the actual difference cleaning performance isn't much different between mid range and high end, it's just the techy features that people tend to get excited about and what to have the latest thing. My old Roborock vacuumed the carpet just as well as my Dreame L20, but it has better mapping and navigation, you can get a S5 for about 250 quid now probably, the L20 is about 850 and the navigation is worse. I think you're better off looking at written reviews from real people over YouTube videos because I got drawn into that and made the mistake I did. Good luck!!
r/RobotVacuums • Help Me Choose Between Roborock S8 Max V Ultra and new Roborock Qrevo Edge ->Roborock S5, bought refurbished from Amazon as I didn’t know if it’s any good. Used it daily for 1.5 years. Moved and kept it in storage for 3 years. Took it out a year ago to use at another place and still going strong daily. Right now I’m deciding between the Dreame X50 Master and Roborock Saros 10 (both are plumbed units, Saros 10R not available in plumbed version). Leaning towards Roborock simply for reliability.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->2058 hours on my Roborock s5. Still runs every day. Replaced a few parts in it over the years, but otherwise it's beek super solid.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->I'd like to know what it will do with a 3/4in threshold. My old roborock s5 is hit or miss if it will make it (depends on the threshold and the day), but if I'm getting one with a mop, it's gotta be able to get into our kitchen.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E28 2in1 - Upcoming deep dive ->Had a Roborock S5 for about 4 years, worked great but wanted auto empty. Had Deebot T8 AIVI I got refurb on ebay for $120, had it for two years and worked amazingly but sucked up dog poop (lol) so it's been sitting. I just ordered an X1 plus, also from Ecovac's official eBay refurb for $170, supposed to come today! I used to be a big Roborock fan boy and recommended them to all my friends but imo they have gotten too expensive and too complicated. Auto mopping isn't that important to me... because i have pets I have to use my crosswave several times a week.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->also had the s5 before, the s8 is so much better in light mopping. you should get one with a station, like tha maxv ultra. it cleans the mop like every x minutes and its perfect.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->Not sure why so many upvotes. Had S5, S7, Q7 all above 3 years and battery is barely different from new. Maybe everyone in here live in castles I don’t know
r/RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to have such a short lifespan? ->Have mine since release date since 2 years ago. And still have it, that might give you a hint. Before this one I had the S7 plus and before that one the S5.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->The mops lift but chassis doesn't İ have a max (no adaptive lifting) and it does fine with high pile carpets
r/Roborock • Best roborock vacuum for the value. ->Roborock has a good implementation into HA which I've used the past year. Maybe the Q Revo will be something for you? Or a top model like the Sxx versions. I just switched to the eufy x10 pro omni and I'm bummed that there are no working solutions for HA for this model yet :(. I have to use another app like a noob.
r/homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->
