"my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ... But when I put my hand on the exhaust, way more air flows out of the S5. ... According to Vacuum Wars testing, the Z70 only moves 16 CFM while my S5 moves around 17-18 CFM - so my older vacuum actually has better airflow despite the lower Pa rating. ... For actually picking up dog hair and debris, you need **air volume** (CFM) to lift and transport stuff into the vacuum. ... My 7-year-old vacuum has better real-world design than the newer model. ... I chose it because it seemed similar to my old S5 which worked well for me."
"They absolutely work. ... They're fantastic. ... I have 3 cats and walk around barefoot inside. There's basically only cat hair and crap (not literally) under the furniture where the robot can't reach."
"The roborock is much better at picking up little bits on the ground and all the pet hair."

"Half the volume, or less, than the Roborock S5, which was a noisy sod."
Hi all, I know a lot of people are interested in this one, so I thought I'd give brief first impressions after the first day. We've had a [Roborock S5](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kz11eb/free_roborock_s5_needs_a_repair_paying_it_forward/) since 2019 but replaced it after the LDS stopped being reliable. I bought the E25 for £700, direct from Eufy. So very brief first impressions of the E25, after first setup and initial clean: Setup: * Box is bloody heavy. Be careful! * Setup is super slick and super easy - wifi connection and app setup was done in a few mins * The machine looks and feels well-built * The funny circular light under the clean water reservoir is annoying, and I wish it could be dimmed or turned off * The sticky labels on the top of the reservoirs (which explain how to use) have tabs as if they should be removed - but when you peel them off they leave yukky glue residue Mapping: * Amazing initial mapping experience * It tracked all the rooms and identified some of them (e.g., it knew one room was a bathroom - presumably using the AI camera to identify the toilet) * The 3D map is cool, but pointless * I needed to set up a no-go area and virtual wall and the first time I set it up, this just failed (click 'save', message says 'Failed', and no other feedback). After I re-mapped the house, it worked fine. Probably an app or wifi comms bug. Cleaning and vacuuming: * First clean took about an hour - 85m2, or so. * It's *very* quiet. Half the volume, or less, than the Roborock S5, which was a noisy sod. * Vacuuming seems very good - better than the S5 (but you'd expect so, as it has nearly 10x the suction Pa) * Mopping seemed good so far, and the water from cleaning was very muddy. Be interesting to see how much better the effect is when running regularly. * Overall clean was pretty good. There were a few tiny bits of debris missed in the corners under teh worktops, but I'm aware no robovac is perfect. Again, little and often * It did get stuck in a couple of places - one step was too high for it to get down (virtual wall placed to prevent this) and a narrow bit next to the toilet - it's about 8mm to wide to go all the way in, so I set up a no-go area. But avoidance generally seems good. Overall, very pleased. It'll be interesting to see how well it works once we've got the schedules running. Edit: one other plus. I was a bit concerned about the cost of bags for the base unit, but there's unofficial ones on amazon for about £14 for 10 bags, which seems reasonable. Better still, I went into the Eufy app tonight and it offered me a free gift in return for feedback. So I wrote some feedback and they gave a voucher for a free £16 pack of 3 official hoover bags. So at 75 days per bag, that'll last me at least until Christmas.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E25 First Impressions ->Sorry, nope. Plenty of YouTube people out there that are doing that. I'm not putting rice and sand on my rug and vacuuming it! Performance is fine though. Loads better than my old S5 Roborock even with it on max and the Eufy on the standard/quiet setting.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E25 First Impressions ->Yeah, we've got an S5 from around the same time (2019), and the battery is still strong. The [LDS has failed](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1kz11eb/free_roborock_s5_needs_a_repair_paying_it_forward/) in the last 2 weeks, and didn't seem repairable, but somebody with more expertise or patience can probably fix it.
r/RobotVacuums • Wondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection? ->For 6+ years now I have owned the [Roborock S5](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Robot-Vacuum-Cleaner-White/dp/B0792BWMV4). In fact, I still use it literally daily. Without going into unnecessary detail, it's certainly reaching end of life. Therefore, I am in the market for a new vac. Exciting! One of the best things about the S5, for me, is that it does not have a self emptying bin. Let me explain... without a self emptying bin it allows the vacuum to maintain a low profile and ultimately allows me to keep the vacuum out of sight. It stays under my couch where it is completely out of sight out of mind 100% of the time. I live in a small apartment in a big city; floor space is absolutely critical and the more I can tuck things away, the better. Therefore, I am looking for the best vac + mop combo without a bin. Looked on the trusty Vac Wars compare tool and selected "Docking Station Type: None." What came up? Nothing great. The Roborock S8 is their highest rated non-dock option and it literally is so old it's unavailable. So, my questions to you, Reddit... got any recommendations for a robovac without one of those massive self emptying bins? Budget is not a factor.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robo Vac + Mop without Self Emptying Bin ->I've had my roborock S5 for like 7 years and it's still going strong. Recently had to replace the battery and a few years back replaced the lidar motor. And of course replace the brushes etc sometimes. Very easy and cheap to repair
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->Don't have pets but it cleans just as well as ever ✌🏼
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->My Roborock S5 is still working great. Had to change some parts like lidar motor and battery (and ofc brushes etc sometimes). It's from 2018 I believe.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->I bought the og xiaomi roborock. It was the best cheap investment that I ever made.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me choose a robot vacuum? ->I really appreciate someone bringing this up! As a design geek, I always struggle when I have to make purchase decisions because not always I find something that I consider "well designed". The robot vacuums category is one of these... However, here some robot vacuums that have a design worth talking about (of course, things need to be contextualised for their time). In completely random order: - **Roomba s9**: a sleek and professional finish, the first (and only) D-shaped Roomba, taking advantage of its shape and bringing to market the best edge cleaning ever (before robot vacuums with extensible side brush were a thing) together with one of the best vacuuming performances ever. - **Roomba i3**: the first one of the newly engineered Roomba mid-range series, bringing to "budget" conscious consumers a new methodical navigation method, together with a modern aesthetics which drops the carrying handle for a new fabric-textured top finish and with modern, clean lines. - **Philips (Versuni) HomeRun 7000**: not a particularly noteworthy product, however a robot vacuum distancing itself from the competition thanks to the typical Philips design, with dual-finish robot and fabric emptying base. Not the best result, but at least an attempt to bring an externally developed product (ODM'd by 3irobotix) in line with the company design style (uses for instance with air purifiers etc). - **Roomba j7/j9+**: distancing itself from its predecessor (Roomba i7, with a good looking "techy" design), it brings a much cleaner design, more minimal, and enriched by a metallic disc on top together with a UI based on the RGB light around the only button (not the most intuitive one, but an attempt to do something different). It also features a newly redesigned self-emptying station, now developed in a much more compact and modern-looking form factor, thing that will be later copied by most other manufacturers. - **Neato Botvac lineup**: overall, Neato products have always been lacking in terms of design (an exception being the Kobold VR300, which changes the design aligning it to the family feeling of contemporary Vorwerk products), however these specific units brought more thoughtful, cleaner lines (to an extent...) together with the LiDAR tower cap in some bold, unique colours. This aesthetic didn't survive long and wasn't - overall - in line with the brand identity of Neato. Still, a good attempt. RIP. - **Dyson 360° VisNav**: not too much to say - it looks good. Perfectly matches a useful D-shaped layout with the Dyson family feeling. Balanced despite the lack of simplicity, modern in a retro-futuristic way, and functional. - **Karcher RC3000**: one of the first robot vacuums with self-emptying station (the first one?), with a bold design perfectly in line with the company identity. - **Dreame W10 Pro**: overall, similar to all other Dreame products, but in the (now abandoned) D-shaped style. Adds a gold accent to differentiate it from the "non-Pro" version which lacks the front sensor array (ToF 3D cam + RGB cam). Clean lines, clean colours, very minimal and stylish overall. - **SmartMi VortexWave**: innovative design for this unique robot vacuum and mop: D-shaped style allowing a large front brush that can be exchanged to leave its place to a roller-style mop. The first robot vacuum supporting both dry and wet vacuuming. Clean lines and a good mix of minimal and techy design. - **Electrolux Pure i9.2 (also AEG RX9.2)**: one one-of-a-kind. The genuine successor of the original Electrolux Trilobite. Developed in-house by Electrolux, this product was one of the first to implement small obstacles avoidance (2017 for the first gen Pure i9) thanks to its navigation method fully based on dual-line lasers. Overall an excellent product, unfortunately killed by the high price, lacking marketing, and growing Chinese competition (at much cheaper prices). Futuristic design for a robot with futuristic features. - **Matic robot vacuum**: the only one that in recent years has dared to challenge the paradigm of robot vacuums. Narrower but much taller. Boxy design resembling a robotic toy, with large wheels and front, "peninsular" brush assembly. Together with a revolutionary vSLAM navigation system based on nVIDIA Jetson Orin. It has its flaws, but it's the kind of competition we need in the category. - **Narwal (in picture, Freo Z10)**: not really a worthy robot vacuum cleaner/brand overall, but one of the first brands to really bet on rotational mops, together with the distinctive clean and alien-like shape of their docks which has now been copied by many competitors. - **Xiaomi Mi Robot Vacuum (Roborock)**: the first LiDAR-based robot vacuum to bring LiDAR and methodical navigation to the masses, at a price that made it the the-facto standard of robot vacuum recommendations in 2016/2017. Together with the new technology at low price, it brought to the market a modern and clean design and a futuristic, intuitive app. - **DJI Romo**: too early to speak about this as a robot vacuum cleaner, but from a design perspective it takes the clean, curvy Narwal style and turns it inside-out giving it a transparent cover. Good result, but durability of the good look is still TBD. - **Mach R1** (sorry, I refuse to call this Eufy S1 Pro): birthed by the Anker Innovations incubator "Mach" (later absorbed into Eufy), it finally brings to Anker-owned Eufy a new style that was really needed. Futuristic and clean, not much to say. A very good result resembling the square-ish shape of older LG HomBot, but in a new futuristic, semi-transparent twist. That's all folks 😬 Edit: pictures in the comment below because somehow embedding doesn't work in this comment.
r/RobotVacuums • Best designed robot vacuums, rank em | and why don't manufacturers care about the design? ->I bought the Roborock Q10 S5 during the Amazon Prime sales, 230$ before tax. It’s my first robot vacuum and I’ve be running it for less than a week and I love it. No more pet hairs, litter or pet food on the ground. I’ve used the mop function which is vibrating on this model and it’s good. I can’t speak of its performance against other robots tho. It doesn’t have a self emptying base and you need to manually wet the mop before use if you want to use it (it has a little tank of water but not enough to initially wet the entire mop) but I don’t mind for the price.
r/RobotVacuums • Budget Vacuum recs? ->I have a Q10 S5 and it’s working pretty well. It has a mop attachment but you can remove it. It navigates and avoid obstacles amazingly. Moreover if you ever feel like trying the mop, it’s the vibrating type (so not purely dragging the mop around) and it does a great job with it.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum without mop without station ->Since nobody has written anything about this model so far, I am taking care of the task. I couldn't find any direct experience with this model beyond some promotional material on youtube and the Vacuum Wars [Roborock 2025 Buying Guide](https://vacuumwars.com/ultimate-roborock-breakdown-2025-buyer-guide/) that described its features. I live alone, I have hard floors, no pets, wear no shoes inside and I was mainly looking for a vacuum-only model without a gigantic ugly dock, so that I could house the robot below my coffee table. Moreover I find the idea of having to replace bags very abhorrent: I can empty the canister myself well enough, thank you very much. Initially I ordered a Eufy C10 for 270 euros... oh boy that was the wrong choice (maybe I'll talk about it on r/eufy): I returned it after a day. Eufy's navigation was slow and awful. I then briefly considered the very cheap Dreame D10 Plus Gen 2, whose base wouldn't wouldn't have fitted under my coffee table. What really pushed me to the Q10 S5 was Roborock's famous superior navigation and the fact it has proper obstacle avoidance. The optional vibrarise 2.0 mopping system with onboard water, and 2 extra mopping pads for 300 euros in total sweetened the deal. And yeah this thing is a beast at navigating. I wish it had the extending brush like the Eufy C10 but it seems to be cleaning well even without it (and I'm sure Roborock is eager to create a new annoyingly named SKU featuring it). The app is much better than Eufy's, although Eufy's can make you edit how you want each room to be cleaned (this after always hearing Vacuum Wars saying how "granular" Roborock's app was). And yeah the mopping is great, despite hearing that the Vibrarise method isn't as effective as other mopping methods. Eventually I guess that I'll upgrade to a higher end model with a proper mop cleaning dock - one that doesn't look hideous, maybe the Curv's - when an Amazon sale comes, but for the moment I can throw the pads in the washer myself and I'm quite satisfied.
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Hi! First, a dogmatic premise: I'm a dock station hater. I don't care for the current robot docks that exist for the only purpose of washing your dirty mop pads. I find them unsightly, big, and hard to meld them into most homes' decor. Most of all, I find them highly inefficient: these things take hours to wash and dry these mop pads. All the while I could just replace those pads with some clean ones and put the dirty ones in the washing machines waiting for the next wash cycle. This works for me and the use I do of my robot. Given this situation: which would you consider to be the best almost-stand-alone **mopping robot** with no pad-washing dock (it's ok, but not necessary, if the dock puts the dust in a bag. It's also ok if the dock only charges)? It seems to me like all the most advanced mopping robots are tied to cumbersome dock stations. I currently own a Roborock Q10 S5 and I quite like, but I was wondering if something even better was out there. Does anybody know? I had my eyes on the DREAME L10s Pro Gen 2 but my real *DREAM* would be to have one with an extending brush and - I might be wrong - it doesn't seem to exist yet. Thanks for reading!
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum with no mop pad washing dock? ->Interesting! It’s like a slightly more premium version of the Q10 S5 I have. Mine has a 10000 pa of suction and a single hybrid roller (it’s not completely smooth, it has some bristles which I think help to avoid tangling) and no side sensors. And I guess the obstacle avoidance is also not as advanced as the S8’s but it’s ok as I don’t have clutter. Both have vibrarise.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum with no mop pad washing dock? ->Roborock S5 was such a low complexity model, going strong for many years. Now with more recent models, vacuum-only limits the search to Q5, Q7, Q8. Most of these claim to be "vac + mop combo" but that's just a passive cloth dragged behind. Not really worth discussing. They all have very good mapping and navigation in common. Roborock is famous for that and even the cheapest model does the job well. So depending on what you want, what you actually need, you might be perfectly satisfied with a Q7 M5+ or Q8 Pro+. One thing to note, Spending more money on a Roborock doesn't automatically mean the robot would be built with higher quality and last longer. It has just more features then. More motors, more moving parts, more wear and tear. Second note, Prices do not necessarily reflect the value. Roborock has some strange pricing strategy that no-one understands. For example, Q5 Pro+ is currently at $600 which is insanely expensive and cannot be recommended right now. I guess there's some tariff glitch included whatever.
r/Roborock • What's Roborock's best vacuum-only model for long-term use? ->Q8 Max wasn't really made for mopping. Since it cannot lift the passive mop, you have to detach the mop everytime you want vacuuming. Make the no mop zones a little wider, even when risking a small strip remaining not mopped. Serious multi-mode cleaning with active mop and lift for combined hard floor / carpet rooms starts with S8 or Q10 S5.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->Well, the S5 vibrates and also has a mop lift. So it's both here.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->S5 data lists VibraRise 2.0. It's the same tech als S8 Pro Ultra had. Also the name tells that the mop vibrates and is rising.
r/Roborock • Model that automatically avoids carpets when mopping? ->I just picked up the same one on Amazon and so far I’m thoroughly impressed with the tech and functionalities for the price. Huge upgrade from my old Roborock E5. I read this model came out just a few weeks ago so looking forward to the overall rating and reviews!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Cheers from Canada, set mine up just a few days ago and it’s incredible!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->The one from the post, the Q10 S5.. and yes very happy. It’s excellent value!
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Q10 S5(+) is best value
r/Roborock • Which model of roborock should I get to replace my old one? ->I recently got the Q10 S5 as well. The Robot vacuums fast and mopping is actually usefull. I was able to add it to Google Home, but I am unable to start specific room cleaning. It just starts full cleaning when asked to clean a specific room. Anyone managed to get specific room cleaning to work with the Q10 S5 and Google Home?
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->The Q7 has the dock, but the Q10 has significantly better obstacle avoidance and significantly better mopping. So, the question is: which is more important to you? Self-empty base stations are definitely useful. Besides the obvious labor savings from not having to empty the robot's dustbin frequently, it helps make scheduling effective; since you're not directly interacting with the robot to cause it to clean, you tend to forget a robot on a schedule, which will lead to a clogged dustbin and ineffective cleaning in just a few weeks. Plus, most self-empty stations have a way to seal the dust bag when removing them from the station, which prevents the cloud of dust that comes from emptying the robot's dustbin. OTOH, better mopping and obstacle avoidance are also useful, so it's your call. I can't see you going wrong with either deal.
r/RobotVacuums • Help me choose: Q7 M5+ w/AutoDock ($279) vs Q10 S5 no dock ($269) ->Roborock q10 s5 will suck up everything and leave you just needing to mop.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot for mopping ->Roborock q10 s5. I have a q5 pro and it’s pretty good. But the q10 has twice the suction.
r/RobotVacuums • A great functioning robot vacuum WITHOUT self-empty feature and WITHOUT mop ->yes, worth it. I just got a Q10 S5, and it usually finishes the job where as an older wyze robot (lidar but no camera) always got stuck on stuff. it still can't see totally flat objects, but it's petty good.
r/RobotVacuums • Worth upgrading for obstacle avoidance ->Same here my s5 !is 6 years old and still working good. Just replaced filters and brushes.
r/Roborock • It's Here! Excited to share my review soon! ->Our Roborock S5 is many years old at this point and runs like a champ every day. I’d buy anything from them again. Just watch vacuum wars on YouTube’s latest summary video when you go to purchase and get which ever Roborock he’s currently recommending.
r/BuyItForLife • Robot Vacuum Recommendations ->Look at Vaccumwars on Youtube, they do good testing on Vaccums that you can pick what best fits your needs and budget. Roborock was the gold standard years ago when I was looking. I got two S5 and have been happy with them. My biggest complaint is they get stuck more often then I would like. Mostly on items left out on the floor. I think the new vacuums with cameras in theory should avoid obstacles. A lot of changed over the years so I am probably out of date. I have heard good things about Eufy and Shark. Roomba was recently reported to be having financial struggles on their 2024 financial report. That might be a little bit risky since it is dependent on cloud connectivity.
r/homeautomation • Whats the best robot vacuum for an average home? ->That’s a fair comment. I got more than my money’s worth out of the old Roborock S5’s. Spare parts were readily available, a big community, YouTube videos showing how to fix things… for many new robot vacuums we probably have to rely on customer support and if that’s poor then a lot of money goes out of the window when things break. I assume you’re in the US? I can’t find a deal for the Eufy X10 in my region. Curious though.
r/RobotVacuums • Dreame L10S Ultra Gen 2 or Roborock QRevo L or ECOVACS Deebot T30 Omni ->Roborock seems to be using a subpar type of ABS plastic on the rear panel. Mine is the same yellow after 5 years: https://preview.redd.it/lijs7aox2smf1.jpeg?width=1984&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=9a4d3298dceb9d839281793a0e5a1688dae9571b
r/ecovacs • Old vs new one 😌 ->I like Roborock, but to be fair, Ecovacs does work, at least not worse than Roborock for me. My Roborock S5 is slowly retiring. It used to clean the bedroom's floor, then went downstairs to the living room's first floor, and now it is on a partial retirement in the office room - smallest and easiest to clean :) Downstairs is Ecovacs T8 OZMO, which runs daily, with almost 3,000 runs in its lifetime. Not a single problem! Upstairs is Ecovacs X1 Omni, which runs 2-3 times a week, mopping. No complaints in the last 2 years, never gave me any trouble.
r/ecovacs • Old vs new one 😌 ->I have a Roborock S5 since 2018 (i think). What I like most is how easy it is to find cheap spare parts (on Aliexpress). Great investment.
r/homeassistant • What's the best recommended Robot Vacuum on the market that you really swear by? ->I had a very noisy motorized wheel to change and the small front wheel who breaked.
r/homeassistant • What's the best recommended Robot Vacuum on the market that you really swear by? ->The Z70 has "22,000 Pa" vs my S5's "2,000 Pa" - on paper the Z70 should crush it. But when I put my hand on the exhaust, way more air flows out of the S5. Turns out **Pa is just pressure, not airflow volume**. It's like comparing a leaf blower to an air duster - the leaf blower moves piles of leaves with lower pressure but high volume, while the air duster has crazy pressure but tiny volume (great for keyboards, useless for leaves). For actually picking up dog hair and debris, you need **air volume** (CFM) to lift and transport stuff into the vacuum. According to Vacuum Wars testing, the Z70 only moves 16 CFM while my S5 moves around 17-18 CFM - so my older vacuum actually has better airflow despite the lower Pa rating. So Roborock basically chased higher Pa numbers for marketing but sacrificed the airflow engineering that actually matters for cleaning performance. My 7-year-old vacuum has better real-world design than the newer model.
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->There is no bot that performs the best in each area, but most users will not need this. I do think vacuum wars does a terrific job, however I don't always agree with the weight of their scoring system. While the X9 is currently #1 if you check the individual scores you see that navigation is pretty near average, and battery life is below average. A lot of weight is given to mopping performance, vacuuming power and features. I went with the T80 omni instead, while missing a feature or 2 over the X9 and scoring slightly worse in both mopping and vacuuming, it's battery life is way above the X9 and more importantly so is its navigation. It's again, not a flawless product, but I managed to fix most of my issues with the app, and it's a huge upgrade from my roborock S5. I recommend against paying +1000$ for any bot, as there isn't a flawless model, and there is always something better around the corner. Get a good deal and move on, in 5 years you'll likely buy one that will blow any current flagship away.
r/RobotVacuums • Ecovacs x9 Omni was a massive disappointment. ->Seconded the s5 with Valetudo. 6 years here. I've replaced the brush roller once, side brush once and dismantled it twice. For initial root and to vacuum the filter to fix error 10. We fill it every two days but it keeps the place fairly tidy from pet hair and dirt.
r/homeassistant • What's the best recommended Robot Vacuum on the market that you really swear by? ->I will not recommend this machine to anyone. Drips on floors. The constant error messages. It keeps running into things and pushing things around because of very bad map orientation. Vacuum perfomance is pretty low, particularly around obstacles and edges. It cannot empty the dirty water from the robot and leaks all over the floors. This is the 3rd machine they have sent me now and nothing gets better. I will do what i can to get my money back and probably buy a roborock again. My s5 was bought in 2018 and i have not had a single error in the machine and it still runs today at my mother in law.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy e25 ~1 month review ->I have a Roborock S5 that I bought in 2017 that I'm still using today without issue. Sometimes I see the new fancy vacuums and wish I could find a reason to upgrade, but the damn thing just keeps working, and it still does a perfectly good job. I recently flashed Valetudo on it so it operates completely independently of Roborock's cloud services, but they're really great vacuums either way.
r/homeassistant • What's the best recommended Robot Vacuum on the market that you really swear by? ->I have a five year old Roborock S5 and it can never get the dustbin more than half full of dog hair before it starts leaving it everywhere. Seems this hasn't changed. At least the newer units can empty themselves.
r/Roborock • Roborock QRevo Master honest review ->I owned a Roborock s5 (very old), an ecovacs t30 (which I wild very soon) and now a dreame L40. I would Go with dreame or Roborock because of the software. The ecovacs was the only one that got stuck (3 times a week).
r/Dreame_Tech • Our first robot vacuum: Roborock Qrevo S or ECOVACS T20 Omni or Dreame L10s Ultra ->I‘m really happy with my roborock. I had the s5 max for the last 4(?) years and was really happy with it but decided to upgrade to the qrevo slim for all of it‘s functions. Now my parents have the s5 and are really happy with it
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->4 out of 5 stars is not horrible. I have no idea why some people have decided 5 stars means acceptable and anything less is bad. Look through reviews themselves. Often a good number of one star reviews are things like delayed shipments and unreasonable expectations, so just looking at ratings alone won’t give you the big picture. The other side of the coin is paid five star reviews. I used to use fakespot for that, but they’ve shut down. I tend to ignore 5 stars reviews and read the rest for that reason. My previous robot vac was the Roborock S5, and I only replaced it for newer features. I think one of their Q models would suffice for a budget model.
r/RobotVacuums • Why is it that recommended brands have such low review on Amazon? ->I have a roborock s5 and a eufy. The roborock was my first and I only bought a new one because I’d wanted one that also mopped. The roborock is much better at picking up little bits on the ground and all the pet hair. The eufy leaves little pieces of hair on the ground when done. But since it has the mop and was a lot cheaper than a new roborock with a built in mop I decided to keep it. My older roborock (5 years old) still works great and is now in my finished basement. The eufy I got was x10 pro Omni and I chose it because it has two spinning mop head, separate dirty and clean water tanks, washes and dries the mop after each use. I do like it but I will eventually sell it and get a roborock s8 with 2 water tanks and dust collector.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums currently that you've tried and found really effective for daily cleaning? ->Mine is too much work for me. I have the roborock s5 I think and I always have to prepare the floor. Put the chairs on the table because they are so wide that the vacuum fits in just so and then won't find out again, put the toilet and bathroom carpets to the doors because otherwise the thresholds are a bit too high for it sometimes, the cat food is in a no-go-zone but sometimes it's confused and spills the cat food anyway, sometimes it closes the toilet door while vacuuming the hallway and is then endlessly trying to get into the toilet before it gives up. When it got older it more and more often happened that it read the map wrong, couldn't find the rooms, couldn't find the station, should have let it make a completely new map again I guess, but that took forever and a lot of supervision as well. So I often came home to a job half done. Now that we have kids it's even more work, we don't always tidy up each day, toys often stay outside, some have their permanent or semipermanent place on the floor (like the doll bed, bathtub, toilet and foodtable we all have on the carpet like it was a little house). I'd have to turn the entire kid's room into a no go zone and even then sometimes it will suck in a small toy underneath the couch or the table or wherever that I might have overlooked and then stop the entire cleaning job. Now I find it a lot easier and quicker to just grab the cordless vacuum cleaner and vacuum around the toys. There's newer robots with camera though who are supposed to avoid obstacles though, but I won't get a new one until the kids are older and have less toys.
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->Whut? My Roborock S5 hasn't been deep-cleaned since new 5 years ago and it works just fine.
r/RobotVacuums • What generally goes wrong in a vacuum+mop+cleaning robot? What to watch out for? ->I've used roborock and it has been extremely solid, I had the s5, and I still use it in my garage, it's been going for 7 years or so. Now I've got the s7 and it just works, needs very little maintenance. Had it for 3-ish years now.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Acutally Lasts? ->Massive difference. I come from an S5, and it can bring me to tears when I see those tangle free duo brushes.
r/Roborock • Is DuoDivide worth it? Long haired cat and two long haired cat parents ->Roborock s5 or any of the series. Great, powerful, smart
r/bernesemountaindogs • Robot vacuum suggestions ->Roborock s5 bought 12/2019 currently used daily to vacuum master bedroom 688 hours and 409k ft2 Roborock s7 maxv plus bought 12/2022 currently used to vacuum basement nightly 1592hrs and 866k ft2 Roborock s7 max ultra bought 7/2024 currently used to vacuum and mop main floor 1096hrs and 535k ft2 No significant issues with any of these. Have not had to repair or replace any parts except brushes and mop pads
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->Hi. My first robot was Roborock S5 and I am satisfied with quality of this brand. Now intensifying the search for another robot, time to upgrade as technologies advance a lot since 2018. The dreame and roborock seems most reliable companies in vacuum robots and they both provide almost same capabilities flagship robots. Now I am between selection of dream x40 pro ultra or ultra complete (weird names just lost which one is latest model) and Roborock G20s ultra. All options seems comparable, like same between both models except Roborock going to offer a bit more with AI features like some advances in area of voice control. Seems current available Roborock G20S ultra (maybe future Roborock S9 which can be presented in 2025 CES) is more advance when latest dream model, doesn't? Of course thanks to huge competition between dreame and roborock companies vacuum robots are advancing rapidly and du to that new models are released very often. I am just surprised how china engineers are smart and find many things to advance on each iteration. For example comparing already old Roborock S8 MaxV model to Roborock G20S Ultra: Robot upgrades: * 7.98cm height to get under low furniture * “DuoDivide” A 100% tangle-free brush * “AdaptiLift” Can lift the chassis to overcome 3-4 cm high obstacles * “Flexi-Arm Riser” - Can raise the side brush (just as the main brush and mop) * Improved voice commands thanks to RRmind GPT * Suction power increase to 18500pa * Battery power increase to 6400mAh Navigation upgrades: * StarSight - projection system for improved navigation * Dual 3DToF solid-state lidar systems - Fixed front and rear laser system * Vertical Laser Edge Sensor - Third laser system * Star Array Navigation System 2.0 - Improved version of V20/QRevo Slim * 108 object recognition Dockstation Upgrades: * Clean water tank sterilization * Sewage water tank deodorization * Base Station UVC sterilization * 80 Degree Celsius Mop sterilization * Detergent Injection * Automated Mop Attachment/Detachment System
r/Roborock • To choose Dreame or Roborock flagship robot vacuum? ->As a wife who is the techie at home: absolutely this. Do not give her this unless she asked for it. But if she did: I got two old roborock s5's for less then €100 and they are great. Got them on valetudo. So much time saved on vacuuming!
r/homeassistant • Robot Vacuums Under $500: Are They Worth It ->Even ancient og Roborock S5 will absolutely outshine this thing. They can often be found used for like 80usd just because the included charger costs like 50usd and fits all roborocks. The S5 can be held alive forever with cheap original parts from AliExpress. If you have more cash then roborocks MaxV models often go used pretty cheap and especially the S7 MaxV is fenomenal.
r/RobotVacuums • I fucking hate this thing ->The reliability of Roborock seems good to me. First S5, now Q Revo.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum has the most robust software? ->Thirded here too S5 with Valetudo. Slight issue with charging but for the rest still working perfectly all these years.
r/homeassistant • What's the best recommended Robot Vacuum on the market that you really swear by? ->Same with me, I have a S5 going strong, never replaced anything and it even fell from the balcony once
r/RobotVacuums • Wondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection? ->Not the best but I got a roborock s5 a few years back for around $250 so I'm sure it's way less now and it works pretty well. It has a mop but you have to manually change out (no fancy dock that auto empties). I'd look into a roborock s series or a revo series at that price point
r/homeassistant • Best robot vacuum for pet hair under $200 ->We have 3 cats and run it a couple times a week. The wife and I are happy with the results. Personally if I did it over again I would save and get the self emptying ones since I know I would run it way more if I didnt have to remove to clean the hair and stuff out after each run. Roborock is one of the top tier robot brands and the lidar on it means it is actually smart in its mapping. I assume most of them have this standard now but the no go virtual lines is a must. You can define certain spots for it to avoid in the app. Great if say you have a couch that the robot can fit into but gets stuck. You can just tell it to ignore that. In the past they gave you these rubber strips so it physically wouldnt go but it looked like hot garbage Also check out Vacuum Wars youtube channel. They do tons of indepth reviews
r/homeassistant • Best robot vacuum for pet hair under $200 ->My s5 is running the upstairs.. X8 omni - is .. such a precious princess a bit of cobweb on the sensors and it starts running in circles - needs a lot of babysitting.. While the S5 just eats poop and continues running through everything - yeah I washed it and it still runs more reliable than x8 omni .. I wish I went with xiaomi :/ Yeah ecovacs it’a really great - until it isn’t - took me a month and now I can’t return it.. If it starts running in circles - you’ll know
r/ecovacs • Old vs new one 😌 ->Same. I got one for my work. It will do the job so we'll keep it, because work is typically not messy. But in a home? I would never get one for at home. It will get stuck on everything. And it has zero smarts to escape. My roborock S5 was better at avoiding obstacles, or at least getting unstuck after.
r/RobotVacuums • T50 Max Pro Omni is terrible ->Ecovacs are junk, as least the T20 I had for 1 week was. I know have a Dreame bot, the mapping is still a bit crap but at least the robot makes it to each room, even if in does only mop half the kitchen. The best mapping I've had was my old Roborocks S5
r/RobotVacuums • After a month of analysis paralysis I found the one... MOVA P10 Pro Ultra ->I deffo wouldn't return both and get something that's supposed to be better, because the robot vac world is a con anyway, more expensive and more features doesn't equal better experience, also obstacle avoidance while a great thing, with some models it's hindrance as it doesn't work properly and causes all sorts of navigation problems. Do your parents a favour, and provide them some redundancy by keeping both, better to have one on each floor, plus if one breaks you have a back up vac. The mid to high end vacs make a lot of claims but in real life situations they aren't much better imo. By the way the YouTube reviews are a real bum steer as well, God knows how they manage to rate the Vacs as they did, don't trust those, it's a mistake I made. I also wasted money on Ecovacs and Dreame mid to high end and they are both worse than my old Roborocks S5, which is worth about 20p at this point, don't buy into that hype, it's not real.
r/RobotVacuums • Need advice on which vacuum to keep my ->Personally, I'd be very wary of Dreame, the software and firmware is terrible, only surpassed by Ecovacs. I've had both in the last month and they have been a mistake. My old Roborocks S5 would run rings around both for mapping and navigation. Obstacle avoidance is a nice to have but In my experience with Dreame, it's rubbish so far anyway; I'd rather just clear my cables away.
r/RobotVacuums • Help Me Choose Between Roborock S8 Max V Ultra and new Roborock Qrevo Edge ->Well, I've not owned those units, but what I have learned is, much the same as loads of technology these days, you often don't get what you pay for over and above a certain cost. Let's be honest, you can buy one hell of a normal vacuum for 500 quid, in fact you'd have to look pretty hard to spend that sort of cash on an upright vac. From where I'm standing, I don't see that much of an improvement gain on anything over 5-600 quid, the actual difference cleaning performance isn't much different between mid range and high end, it's just the techy features that people tend to get excited about and what to have the latest thing. My old Roborock vacuumed the carpet just as well as my Dreame L20, but it has better mapping and navigation, you can get a S5 for about 250 quid now probably, the L20 is about 850 and the navigation is worse. I think you're better off looking at written reviews from real people over YouTube videos because I got drawn into that and made the mistake I did. Good luck!!
r/RobotVacuums • Help Me Choose Between Roborock S8 Max V Ultra and new Roborock Qrevo Edge ->Ecovacs is the worst robot vacuum, no I think the worst piece of tech I've ever owned. I was gobsmacked how they dared to charge that much money for such a massive piece of shit that my oldest S5 ran rings around. I had it 2 weeks and would NEVER by Ecovacs again. I replaced my S5 with Dream L20, which also had its issues and also replaced, but after that it's been at least ok. The S5 mapping I think is superior to both still, even over 5 years old; overall the Dream is better now, but all these new vacs aren't worth the money they ask; anything over £500 is just a waste of money for gimmick features and just to say you have the latest.
r/ecovacs • Old vs new one 😌 ->Roborock S5, bought refurbished from Amazon as I didn’t know if it’s any good. Used it daily for 1.5 years. Moved and kept it in storage for 3 years. Took it out a year ago to use at another place and still going strong daily. Right now I’m deciding between the Dreame X50 Master and Roborock Saros 10 (both are plumbed units, Saros 10R not available in plumbed version). Leaning towards Roborock simply for reliability.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->2058 hours on my Roborock s5. Still runs every day. Replaced a few parts in it over the years, but otherwise it's beek super solid.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->My old s5 has over 1500hrs, don't worry about it. Only things replaced are some filters, three main brushes, six side brushes and the front wheel. Brushes, mop, wheels and motors are wear items that you can get online. These robots are there to help you, they are wear items, that's their purpose. Wear them out til they disintegrate.
r/Roborock • Robo vacuum worth it? ->I'd like to know what it will do with a 3/4in threshold. My old roborock s5 is hit or miss if it will make it (depends on the threshold and the day), but if I'm getting one with a mop, it's gotta be able to get into our kitchen.
r/RobotVacuums • Eufy E28 2in1 - Upcoming deep dive ->Had a Roborock S5 for about 4 years, worked great but wanted auto empty. Had Deebot T8 AIVI I got refurb on ebay for $120, had it for two years and worked amazingly but sucked up dog poop (lol) so it's been sitting. I just ordered an X1 plus, also from Ecovac's official eBay refurb for $170, supposed to come today! I used to be a big Roborock fan boy and recommended them to all my friends but imo they have gotten too expensive and too complicated. Auto mopping isn't that important to me... because i have pets I have to use my crosswave several times a week.
r/RobotVacuums • robot vacs you've used for YEARS ->also had the s5 before, the s8 is so much better in light mopping. you should get one with a station, like tha maxv ultra. it cleans the mop like every x minutes and its perfect.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->I’m currently using home assistant with this. Got my Roborock S5 and S6 in HomeKit.
r/HomeKit • robot vacuum cleaner ->Buy an old Roomba Series 500 on up. They can be found at thrift stores and usually just need a new battery. They are well built and work well and are fairly easy to clean.
r/RobotVacuums • $100 Robot Vacuums: Worth It for Small Spaces? Please help me... ->Buy an old Roborock ONLY if you know what you are doing! Here is a guide for doing a [teardown cleaning of an S5](https://www.instructables.com/Roborock-S5-Disassembly-for-Cleaning-Troubleshooti/). If complex electro mechanical devices fascinate you, go for an old Roborock. If reading my guide makes your head spin, buy an old Roomba. The suction fan of an old Roomba is usually part of the dust bin or cleaning head so it is MUCH easier to clean. There is much to be said for confining the power of a random path robot to one room and letting it clean until its battery runs down. Let it recharge and move it to the next room. True, a LiDAR based robot cleans in an orderly manner, but it only makes one pass. I call this "Good Enough" cleaning. I started out being a Roborock fan, but I have far more Roombas in my collection now. Roombas can pick up sand on a floor. Roborocks cannot even if they have been cleaned.
r/RobotVacuums • $100 Robot Vacuums: Worth It for Small Spaces? Please help me... ->Not sure why so many upvotes. Had S5, S7, Q7 all above 3 years and battery is barely different from new. Maybe everyone in here live in castles I don’t know
r/RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to have such a short lifespan? ->Have mine since release date since 2 years ago. And still have it, that might give you a hint. Before this one I had the S7 plus and before that one the S5.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->I had a Qrevo Curv for almost 2 weeks. When it arrives I vacuumed all my apartment with Curv and then with my old S5. I attached an image with the S5 filter after full vacuuming after the Curv vacuum the same area. I expected S5 to get some dirt but not so much. https://preview.redd.it/3p4yx23c2n6f1.jpeg?width=4080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e583317de0212ac550d57f79ad68f750ae506539
r/Roborock • Why Pa specs are misleading - my 2,000 Pa S5 outcleans my 22,000 Pa Z70 ->QRevo has been great , has most of the top line functionality at a reasonable cost. Have two of them going on now. Our old S5 was still working great and relegated to basement now. Apart from accessories, the only thing I changed was the battery.
r/homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Recommendations Today for Busy Folks? ->Roomba's have pretty subpar mapping & navigation compared to most other brands. We have one (older) Roomba that relies on VSLAM for navigation and one Roborock that uses LiDAR; the difference is night and day. I would avoid iRobot on that alone until they change their tech.
r/Roborock • Best robot without a dock ->For the price (£250) I am very impressed with mine. Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc. Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out. Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle. Definitely does not replace vacuuming as a whole though as it just cant physically get into the corners, and the vacuum itself isnt enough to really suck stuff out of the carpet, more just pick up things on top. I treat it more like a broom than anything else, but having a pet it helps me keep on top of things.
r/gadgets • Roborock graduates from vacuuming your house to mowing your lawn ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
