I bought my S6 gently used for $100 and it’s been a powerhouse for me for 2 years.

Roborock all the way, my man. They're great. I started my roborock journey with the s6. Upgraded to s7 max v ultra for about 1.5k eur and used it for about 1 year until something broke in the dock, so I spoke to Amazon and they gave me a return label for a full refund. Good timing, because the s8 max v ultra had just been released, so with that money I got me the s8 max v ultra. That was may 2024. This week, the s8 max v ultra had an issue, and guess what? Roborock offered me again full refund for the return of the robot, and I just bought again the same model, roborock s8 max v ultra. The kicker is, currently roborock has a huuuuuge promotion on their amazon.de page, and I bought the s8 maxv ultra for about 650. New! So, soon I'll be getting the refund of 1.5k eur from them. Anyway, my point is, I strongly recommend them, and the roborock s8 max v ultra. At this price, it is the best value you can find on the market.

I have a Roborock S6 bought in 2020 that is still working. I honestly think I prefer my old 2007 Dyson and it is superior at vacuuming but I do like the robot vacuum for regular cleaning.

My roborock s6 lasted 6 years before the battery gave up, worked fine with regular consumable replacements.

Its probably because its trying to map out the edge of the carpet, the s6 doesnt really need to do this because it cant lift up its mop either way. Maybe just let the s6 clean the carpets and let the Qrevo Slim do everything else.

Your mop options are severely limited under $200. I'd focus on just buying a vacuum and manually mopping. The mopping function is really only good on the newer vacuums which are still very expensive relative to your budget. I'd recommend Roborock (great integration and products). You'll get solid vacuum performance (look at used options, S5, S6) and the S6 can do a "drag" mop. The S7 vibrates a bit, but with animals I'd manually mop.

Yeah. They're more "robot dust mop" than "robot vacuum." Bought a roborock 6 years ago. Loved it so much right away I bought one as a birthday present for someone else. That was "just" the S6. Excellent purchase, especially on sale on Amazon. A few months ago I bought the first newer model I've bothered to get (the "Qrevo Edge" model) and again loved it so much I bought 2 more as Christmas presents for family who have always had roombas and have the stupid virtual walls all over their houses. 🙄 They didn't believe me when I told them how much better these things are, and were pretty much over the whole robotic home appliance thing. And then they used the ones I got them. And now they want robot mowers and other goodies. Can I get a commission or something? 😅

1 hour with the E25 and I already wish return was possible The roborock S6 is definitely being plugged back in tomorrow. Turned off Ai obstacle mode, now it smashes into everything. Like real hard this thing is probably not gonna last long, so many fragile parts. The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts

r/RobotVacuumsWondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection?

My Roborock S6 is still going strong after 5 years with one HUGE caveat. Every year I disassemble it to clean the vacuum filters and vacuum fan intake. It's a terrible design but with that maintenance and regular consumables replacement it's still doing great. I'm considering an upgrade to a true mopping robot once I'm convinced mopping is effective.
