"The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts"

"they are extremely durable. ... I’ve got well over 1000 miles out of a pair and they still have grip and the uppers are in great shape"

"I've used them for 1500 miles of multi-day hiking with no issues!"

"It picks up all the cat fur, all the dog fur, all the litter, all the human hair."

"I have one teenager who’s messy and a dog who sheds like it’s her job. It’s been a game changer."

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"Get one with the emptying station and you can leave it untouched for months."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"It saved me so much anxiety and time because I was constantly fighting to make my floors feel clean. ... Now I just have to spot clean and vacuum the corners where the robot can’t reach."

"Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle."

"Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc."

"Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out."

"Having your floors mopped twice a week while you’re at work is priceless."

"It self empties and washes the mops. All you do is refill water and empty dirty water."

"it will not return to the base station to empty it's dustbin when it's full. ... It just keeps going and ends up clogged and dragging dirt around the floor."

"Every year I disassemble it to clean the vacuum filters and vacuum fan intake. It's a terrible design"

"Sadly there ’s no autoempty dock."

"Granted the Roborock S50 is from a different era, but what the actual heck - clean/dirty water tank, washes mop with hot water, dries it, auto dispensers detergent, has a swinging mop, lifts the side brush during mopping (!), is dead silent when mopping only. My floor is cleaner than it’s ever been.."

"their tech features just aren't as advanced as some of the newer brands ... If you want something with... mopping, etc, you probably want a Roborock"

"The price difference is too much for how little the sound difference is."

"costs $450 less than what I paid for the S6 ... it is very hard for me to justify any of the higher tier models."

"Its sorta tied with jbl boombox but because of the huge price difference, skullcandy takes the cake! ... huge price difference"

"They have just enough memory to get the cleaning job done. They can't even handle maps beyond a certain size."

After happily using a Roborock S6 for quite a few years in a 600 sqft condo with 1 dog, buying a house, adding 2 additional furry friends(one cat, one more dog), and our S6 dying out with the dreaded “filter blocked or wet” issue(despite my best attempts to rectify it, including a full dismantling), I decided to bite the bullet and upgrade for our new found levels of mess. Our main issues in our fully hard floored home are dog and cat hair, as well as some wonderfully muddy paws that even with our efforts at the threshold to prevent, are sometimes unpreventable(100lb dogs will be 100lb dogs). After lurking in this forum for quite some time, reading countless reviews across multiple platforms, and watching too many YouTube videos, I decided that the no tangle split roller of the Curv along with the reported mopping performance and Roborock navigation system was a no brainer. My floors will be clean! My white kitchen floor will no longer smattered in brown! No more hair balls rolling across the hallway! Rejoice! Woof. We have had this $1400(purchase price) robot roaming our house continuously for 2 months now, and underwhelmed doesn’t describe how I feel writing this today and watching it. My biggest qualm: the mop quality is garbage. With the “official Roborock multi surface cleaning solution” including in the appropriate amounts in the fresh water tank, and the most thorough mop settings, I’m lucky if I’m left with anything better than a very odd brown streak around the edges of my floorboards. Usually, this is also seen in the middle of the floor, but the robot does not do a decent job against edges, vacuuming or mopping. Mopping is great. Just spreading the dirt evenly around the floor….sucks. Mop Score: 0/10. The duel no tangle rollers are great, and live up to the expectations I had. As a vacuum, it is mostly great, with the exception of the nav system. For some reason, it’s allergic to getting into tighter spaces and close to edges, leaving weird spots completely missed. Vacuum Score: 8.75/10 Occasionally, it decides to mop our living room rug. That’s less than ideal. Every time, “smart plan” will mop first, vacuum second. I haven’t found a way to stop this, so I usually run a vacuum cycle and then deep mop to embrace my futility. The app is great though, so cool! Intelligence Score: 6/10 I’m getting frustrated watching it do nothing in my kitchen for the second time today, and enjoying the brown tinge on my tile. I might try to just embrace it. For an evolution in Robovacs, this doesn’t feel like much more than what should be standard in 2024/2025. I wish I had opted for one of the Dreame models at a lower price point, but hey…I’m glad I got a cool rounded dock with no controls.

I have a Roborock S6 bought in 2020 that is still working. I honestly think I prefer my old 2007 Dyson and it is superior at vacuuming but I do like the robot vacuum for regular cleaning.

Your mop options are severely limited under $200. I'd focus on just buying a vacuum and manually mopping. The mopping function is really only good on the newer vacuums which are still very expensive relative to your budget. I'd recommend Roborock (great integration and products). You'll get solid vacuum performance (look at used options, S5, S6) and the S6 can do a "drag" mop. The S7 vibrates a bit, but with animals I'd manually mop.

So, I have always been a roborock fan. I have the S6, and this year, I upgraded to the Qrevo Master. I use the Master on hardwood floors and tile. It's great for those applications. I have it mop the hardwood on the lowest water setting, which dries almost immediately. My floors are clean and show no signs of damage. It's great at avoiding most obstacles. It's not so great with cords. I only have one on the ground for our lamp... it will identify one portion of it and then roll over the next portion of it. Granted, it only gets tangled 2x a month on average. But it's enough to be frustrating. Most other features are top of its class. Mop self-cleaning, auto empty, the mapping features, and the app overall.

I'm going to be biased since I own (and love) two Roborocks. I have an S6, which I recently moved to the second floor and upgraded to the Qrevo Master. My downstairs is all tile/hardwood, and the Master does an incredible job. The app is easy to navigate and very intuitive. The suction power is great. The robot is quiet. I do keep my floors tidy, but I have a cord that runs 10' or so to plug in one of our lamps. It's only gotten caught on it two times in the 2 months it's been running. I do hear great things about Dreame - but can't contribute anything. I would avoid shark based on most of the feedback I see in these forums. Edit to talk about hair entanglement - I have a short haired dog and a long-haired roommate, and the Master seems to handle the hair, no problem. While I perform regular maintenance, I do not have to cut (much) hair from the roller. We're talking a few strands, if any. The S6 wraps hair around its roller for fun, so improvements have definitely been made.

I upgraded from the S6 to the Qrevo Master this past holiday season. . Absolutely loving it. Could still use a little work on object identification/ avoidance. Mops and vacuums flawlessly. I highly considered the Curv for its ability to climb higher thresholds but ultimately didn't like the design as much (pre edge release.) I think you'll be more than pleased with the S8 series, the curv/edge, or the master. I also highly recommend vacuum wars. I watched it religiously when making my decision

I also have the mopping Roborock and love it. We have 1 dog and 12 foster cats so daily sweeping and mopping is a necessity. It won’t save op money though I think it was $700. As long as the toys are picked up the only issue it occasionally has is with my really long hair getting wrapped around the rollers.

1 hour with the E25 and I already wish return was possible The roborock S6 is definitely being plugged back in tomorrow. Turned off Ai obstacle mode, now it smashes into everything. Like real hard this thing is probably not gonna last long, so many fragile parts. The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts

My Roborock S6 is still going strong after 5 years with one HUGE caveat. Every year I disassemble it to clean the vacuum filters and vacuum fan intake. It's a terrible design but with that maintenance and regular consumables replacement it's still doing great. I'm considering an upgrade to a true mopping robot once I'm convinced mopping is effective.
