"The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts"

"they are extremely durable. ... I’ve got well over 1000 miles out of a pair and they still have grip and the uppers are in great shape"

"I've used them for 1500 miles of multi-day hiking with no issues!"

"I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold."

"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."

"The roborock cleans the carpet so well I haven't seen or felt any litter anymore."

"Get one with the emptying station and you can leave it untouched for months."

"splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. ... we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point."

"It saved me so much anxiety and time because I was constantly fighting to make my floors feel clean. ... Now I just have to spot clean and vacuum the corners where the robot can’t reach."

"Its only gotten stuck twice, and both times were on the same chair that has horizontal bars at floor level that it can get over if it runs at it head on, but can high side itself if approaching from an angle."

"Its got LiDAR, a mop, empties itself, etc."

"Its really neat to watch on the app as it goes about your house and maps it out."

"Having your floors mopped twice a week while you’re at work is priceless."

"It self empties and washes the mops. All you do is refill water and empty dirty water."

"Granted the Roborock S50 is from a different era, but what the actual heck - clean/dirty water tank, washes mop with hot water, dries it, auto dispensers detergent, has a swinging mop, lifts the side brush during mopping (!), is dead silent when mopping only. My floor is cleaner than it’s ever been.."

I have a Roborock S6 bought in 2020 that is still working. I honestly think I prefer my old 2007 Dyson and it is superior at vacuuming but I do like the robot vacuum for regular cleaning.

Your mop options are severely limited under $200. I'd focus on just buying a vacuum and manually mopping. The mopping function is really only good on the newer vacuums which are still very expensive relative to your budget. I'd recommend Roborock (great integration and products). You'll get solid vacuum performance (look at used options, S5, S6) and the S6 can do a "drag" mop. The S7 vibrates a bit, but with animals I'd manually mop.

So, I have always been a roborock fan. I have the S6, and this year, I upgraded to the Qrevo Master. I use the Master on hardwood floors and tile. It's great for those applications. I have it mop the hardwood on the lowest water setting, which dries almost immediately. My floors are clean and show no signs of damage. It's great at avoiding most obstacles. It's not so great with cords. I only have one on the ground for our lamp... it will identify one portion of it and then roll over the next portion of it. Granted, it only gets tangled 2x a month on average. But it's enough to be frustrating. Most other features are top of its class. Mop self-cleaning, auto empty, the mapping features, and the app overall.

r/RobotVacuumsPlease help me choose my first robot ever. Lost between Roborock, dreame, Eufy, Shark?

I'm going to be biased since I own (and love) two Roborocks. I have an S6, which I recently moved to the second floor and upgraded to the Qrevo Master. My downstairs is all tile/hardwood, and the Master does an incredible job. The app is easy to navigate and very intuitive. The suction power is great. The robot is quiet. I do keep my floors tidy, but I have a cord that runs 10' or so to plug in one of our lamps. It's only gotten caught on it two times in the 2 months it's been running. I do hear great things about Dreame - but can't contribute anything. I would avoid shark based on most of the feedback I see in these forums. Edit to talk about hair entanglement - I have a short haired dog and a long-haired roommate, and the Master seems to handle the hair, no problem. While I perform regular maintenance, I do not have to cut (much) hair from the roller. We're talking a few strands, if any. The S6 wraps hair around its roller for fun, so improvements have definitely been made.

r/RobotVacuumsMy Review of the new eufy E25
8 months ago

1 hour with the E25 and I already wish return was possible The roborock S6 is definitely being plugged back in tomorrow. Turned off Ai obstacle mode, now it smashes into everything. Like real hard this thing is probably not gonna last long, so many fragile parts. The roborock I have kicked and smashed with my foot so many times out of anger when it doesn't collaborate, and still he rocks 4-5 yrs later and no broken parts

r/RobotVacuumsWondering how long do the robot Vacuums last? And what about privacy/data protection?

My Roborock S6 is still going strong after 5 years with one HUGE caveat. Every year I disassemble it to clean the vacuum filters and vacuum fan intake. It's a terrible design but with that maintenance and regular consumables replacement it's still doing great. I'm considering an upgrade to a true mopping robot once I'm convinced mopping is effective.

r/smarthomeWill I regret buying robovac, just another overpriced toy?

I have one per floor in my house, roborock S6 from 6/21. They are tanks, I absolutely love them. I would recommend buying during black Friday sales, the price usually drops. I will also say, don't bother paying for any mopping functionality, the tech just isn't there yet. The only thing that I would change is getting a model that cleans itself. Running ours once a day fills the dustbin.  For reference, I have a long hair cat, short hair dog and a toddler. I brought these things with me to my new house which has carpet, rugs, and hardwood. Roborock has lidar sensors and works so much better than my Roomba ever did. But that thing was old af to be fair.  Buy 3rd party replacement parts off Amazon to save money.  (Brushes & filters) Mine are both "set it and forget it" and are 3.5 yo BUT I've got to clean out the bins daily... That's it!

I'm hijacking your post trying to get some help too because I'm in the same boat. But I've also been researching for a few months and I have some thoughts that might be helpful. I have 2 goldens and no carpet. I don't have any first hand experience with any of the newer vacuums, but here is where I am. I'm Strongly considering the narwal flow. Right now it's $1100. The reviews even for the older narwals which have the same brush design seem to highlight how it can handle hair. It even has a way to clean hair off the side brush which has been a problem for me. And the 3rd wheel is behind the main brush, which for the amount of fur you and I get should be helpful! The saros 10r also seems good. I'm fairly happy with my roborock s6 as far as build quality and reliability, but it can't keep up with the hair. Possibly the eufy e25 as well, but the super loud base station and some quality issues make me leery. I used to think I needed a roller or track mop, but just a dad thinks the spinny mops will be less maintenance so, now I don't know. 1. Narwal flow. Pre order deal sounds pretty good. The negative stuff I've seen so far is related to carpet performance and no detergent dispenser. Promised matter support is also a bonus especially if it's 1.4. 2. Roborock saros 10r (a little above budget but I'm sure there will be discounts soon) 3. Mova v50. this one might actually be the best, but I'm not sure about reliability and build quality. Claims it has some anti smell features. 4. Eufy e25 At the moment the roborock and the mova v50 are more than I'm willing to spend, but I'm sure that won't be the case for long. Edit. One think I wonder about is how well they empty mass amounts of hair. Perhaps a mova or dreame with the tricut brush would be even better.
