I own three units: s6MaxV, QRevoPlus, QRevo S5A. The S6MaxV goes on vacation with us, cleaning AirBnB’s that we rent. Yes, maintenance is necessary, but easy to perform.
From my experience, Roborock and eufy both have pretty good return policies and customer service (even when purchased through Amazon). My original robot vacuum was a Roborock S6 MaxV, Amazon renewed. I actually still have it, it works PHENOMENALLY, I just wanted to get something that had a self emptying dock, so I got a eufy omni C20 on sale. My eufy omni C20 was being awful after about a year of owning it and I left a review on Amazon detailing all my issues. Their customer service reached out through Amazon messages and after lots of troubleshooting offered me a full refund for returning it, which I took. I may give eufy another try in the future because the unit did work well, but as I had a baby on the way, I wanted something that was just going to work, so I got a Roborock Q7 M5+. After owning \*that\* for about 5 months, it started giving me all sorts of problems and again after trying a lot of troubleshooting I just received the replacement unit from sending in the one that wasn't working. I almost wish they had offered a refund instead so I could try a different unit :/
I have the S6 MaxV and the Qrevo Edge. The difference between spinning mops like the Edge compared to the static pad that is just dragged along is huge. The dirt was just smeared around with the S6 MaxV, so after several years, when the Edge took over, I could see the floor getting cleaner for every pass, and the waste water was really dark. Also, I have some thresholds and carpets, and the S6 MaxV would get stuck more often than I liked. No problem with the Edge which can lift quite high. All in all, I could not be happier with that upgrade. No hair tangles either, with two cats and a regularly visiting Malamute with difficult hair. I see that the new ones like Narwal Flow may mop even better, but for me, the very increased complexity seems like a potential durability and maintenance problem. The spinning mops on the Edge are dead simple and should last a long time.
Hi all, We’re currently looking to upgrade our robot vacuum and would really appreciate input from people with real-world experience in similar conditions. We’re a family with two small kids (3 years and 6 months), so our floors are never clear — there are always toys, random objects, crumbs, food spills, etc. On top of that, we have a golden retriever that sheds a lot, so hair management is a big issue. Our current robot (an older Roborock S6MaxV model) just isn’t cutting it anymore: \- It struggles with suction (especially sand/dirt brought in from outside) \- Hair gets tangled constantly in the brush, requiring manual cleaning after almost every run \- The mopping function is basically useless, so we never use it \- It doesn’t handle clutter well and gets stuck or avoids too much So for the next one, our priorities are: \- Excellent obstacle avoidance (must handle toys and clutter without constant babysitting) \- Very good performance with pet hair (minimal tangling / maintenance) \- Actually useful mopping (able to deal with food spills, dirt, etc.) \- Low maintenance overall (self-cleaning dock, minimal manual work) We’ve narrowed it down to: \- New flagship models from Dreame Technology (X40 / X50 / X60 series) \- The newer Roborock SAROS models (like Saros 10R) We also have two door thresholds (\~3.5 cm and \~4.5 cm), but that’s a “nice to have” — not a dealbreaker. 👉 Questions: \- How well do these actually handle real-life clutter (toys, cables, random stuff)? \- How bad is hair tangling in practice (especially with long dog hair)? \- Is the mopping function genuinely useful, or still more of a gimmick? \- How much manual maintenance do you realistically end up doing? \- Any regrets or things you wish you knew before buying? Would love to hear from people with similar setups (kids + pets + messy floors). Thanks a lot!
I've been using my roborock s6 maxv for 4 years. I saw another post recently where some people had more hours on theirs.
I emailed roborock about my s6 maxv Getting stuck in a certain place and they sent me a free strip that can block the path. 4 years later and it's still working ok. Soo, plus one for roborock.
I'm hijacking your post trying to get some help too because I'm in the same boat. But I've also been researching for a few months and I have some thoughts that might be helpful. I have 2 goldens and no carpet. I don't have any first hand experience with any of the newer vacuums, but here is where I am. I'm Strongly considering the narwal flow. Right now it's $1100. The reviews even for the older narwals which have the same brush design seem to highlight how it can handle hair. It even has a way to clean hair off the side brush which has been a problem for me. And the 3rd wheel is behind the main brush, which for the amount of fur you and I get should be helpful! The saros 10r also seems good. I'm fairly happy with my roborock s6 as far as build quality and reliability, but it can't keep up with the hair. Possibly the eufy e25 as well, but the super loud base station and some quality issues make me leery. I used to think I needed a roller or track mop, but just a dad thinks the spinny mops will be less maintenance so, now I don't know. 1. Narwal flow. Pre order deal sounds pretty good. The negative stuff I've seen so far is related to carpet performance and no detergent dispenser. Promised matter support is also a bonus especially if it's 1.4. 2. Roborock saros 10r (a little above budget but I'm sure there will be discounts soon) 3. Mova v50. this one might actually be the best, but I'm not sure about reliability and build quality. Claims it has some anti smell features. 4. Eufy e25 At the moment the roborock and the mova v50 are more than I'm willing to spend, but I'm sure that won't be the case for long. Edit. One think I wonder about is how well they empty mass amounts of hair. Perhaps a mova or dreame with the tricut brush would be even better.
I have been using the Roborock S6 MaxV for several years now. At the time I bought it, it was their best model. It is still working great now. I dont use the mop function though.
