"in the app it will show you a layout of your home after it runs once which you can separate into rooms. I like this feature as I can schedule my kitchen to run daily and the rest of the house twice a week."
"I've got really good integration with HA. ... I have Node Red flows that have it clean specific rooms on voice command or schedule ... Node Red intelligently chooses times to empty the bin when nobody is in the room. ... Node Red turns the house AC fan on for a bit when the vacuum empties as well, to clear out the smell."
"Once you map your house and setup a schedule, there’s not much else to do."

"We have four roborock S7’s running in our 5,000 sqft office. ... Bought them since they first came out years ago. ... They run every day. ... Only last year did we replace the battery for all 4. ... Other than that, no issue at all, rock solid, very pleased that we also have them for our homes too."
"My Roborock S7 has lasted for years, is still going and feel their flagships will still do the same."
"still going as brand new. ... Have about 550hr+ runtime and working like a charm."

"It’s smart enough to know when something is in the way and just works around it. The next time if that thing isn’t there it just cleans as normal."
"The Roborock app works quite well and I find it easy to set up no go zones."

"After walking them in rainy or muddy weather, having a robo mop take care of the mess is a real help. ... on our hardfloors, the robos are an excellent support and really do lighten the workload ... the convenienve of not needing to mop the house after you worked for a full day is worth it to us. ... So, 30 minutes for 7 days a week comes down to 3.5 hours of mopping saved. ... So if you want your floors to be somewhat halfway clean, you need to mop them daily (at least once). So yes, for us, the mopping robot makes a lot of sense and is a real help."
"The S7 is the best model roborock has made as far as vacuuming performance goes. ... The s8 does not have better vacuuming than the s7"
"The Roborock S7 is a beast with pet hair"

"My wife has super long hair which always annoys me - gets stuck on the regular vacuums brush and the roborock s7 (axles, not on the rollers)."
"I have hair just above the shoulders and it would get very stuck on my roborock s7."
"Näin 3 pitkäkarvaisen koiran taloudessa laite on puhdistettava aikalailla joka rundin jälkeen telaa ja sivuharjaa myöten, se on niin täynnä tavaraa."

"the robot has no obstacle avoidance ... In terms of obstacles, that‘s pretty much the main reason why I added the 10R to my other floor where my cat and his toys are, it has great obstacle avoidance."
"If I leave them, they'll get chewed, tangled up.. it'll take robo 5x the amount of time to navigate around crap and by the time it cleans up some rooms it'll run out of battery."
"hours of cleaning of robot cleaner that I already have to do a pre-cleanup for all the toys we have around."

"It will pick up much more dust, dirt, hair, cat litter and other debris than the S7. ... It performs very similarly to the S7, and has a very similar vacuuming module with the upgraded rollers that reduce hair tangling. The S8 just picks up far more dust, dirt and hair than the Saros 10R. As a vacuum cleaner only, the Saros 10R does a fairly average job."
"Having two dogs I would go on record saying that the S7 does a less worse job than the S8 on short pile carpets. ... But still to get it somewhat okayish clean, I use a normal vacuum twice a week"

"My S7 basically vacuums up the chunks and then mops the liquids. ... The biggest issue for me is that the moist chunks gum up the vac tray in the dock and I have to clean it regularly. ... The robot scoops up wet barf chunks that get in the dust bin and when the dock empties the dust bin the wet chunks stick to the dock and when they dry it’s like concrete since they mix with cat hair and dust that gets swept up. ... I have to unscrew the dust bin emptying chute and clean it in the sink and sometimes need a screwdriver to scrape the stuff off."
"What I don't like is the mechanism in the dock to wash the mops. It is complicated and requires too much maintenance. Without good, frequent maintenance, the S8's mop cleaning mechanism will fill up with mud, hair and debris and can clog. The same is true for the mechanism for washing the mops in the S7's dock."
"Tyhjennys telakka olisi ihan turha kapistus tälle, koska karvaa niin paljon joka välissä et puhdistettava kumminkin."
It depends on your budget, but you might want to check the Roborock S7 (standard dock), it has strong suction for crumbs and hair, built-in mopping, anti-tangle brushes, and a low-profile dock that won’t crowd your space. Just empty the bin and rinse the mop occasionally, and it handles daily cleaning with very little effort.
You might want to check the[ Roborock S7 series](https://www.reddit.com/r/VacuumsTips/comments/1qxaugi/best_affordable_selfemptying_robot_vacuums_for/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button). A lot of self-emptying bots sound great on paper but get annoying fast; this one’s mostly boring in a good way. It docks and empties reliably, navigation is solid, and you’re not constantly fixing hair tangles or errors. Feels genuinely hands-off once it’s set up.
I'm no expert was just a rabbit hole I fell down on Reddit. I have a Roborock S7+ Max I use for daily cleaning/mopping. But then I have a Sebo Airbelt K3 Premium for weekly vacuums. Sebo/Miele are great brands. 10 year warranty, German made. All the rage has been bagless canister vacuums but they're actually super dirty and inconvienient. Way easier just to replace bags once they're full. I've had my Sebo for like four years now works just as well as the day I bought it with no maintenance. Replace filters/bags as needed. I had a Dyson stick vacuum prior to that but the battery obviously died, honestly a plug-in vacuum isn't that bad. Long cord, the canister rolls as you vacuum, with those style you're only holding a stick to vacuum with a hose attached so it's not like a full-sized vacuum where all the weight is in your hands. Edit: Forgot to mention, warranty. They have a good warranty for sure but Sebo/Miele are like... SnapOn tools. You can just take them into a dealer and get them repaired, even after your warranty. Like try taking a Dyson stick vacuum in for repair. They'll clean it out probably. But the german vacuums, every part is orderable, like real vacuum repair shops have parts on hand generally or know what to order. Easy to replace a $30 part and your vacuum is back to working versus a lot of brands these days they're basically disposable.
Hire a cleaning service if you want a deep clean. I have a Roborock S7 Max and LVP floors with various rugs. It can be great for maintaining cleanliness (assuming you don’t have young children like I do leaving their messes everywhere and can actually run it on a regular basis). I hardly use it any more and it’s fallen into more of a pre-clean tool - so I may pick things up off the floor and have it do its thing while cleaning elsewhere in the house, and then I can double back with a mop where needed.
Reading this literally as I closed out a support ticket for my S7 Max 😭… Gotta send it in for a repair but luckily under warranty; only had it for two months. Love the thing for vacuuming but the mopping system has been a nightmare; I’m hearing “Error 42” in my sleep at this point.
I second and third Roborock. I’ve had my s7 max since it came out (so over years now?) and it’s one of the most reliable things I own. Which is astounding because I’m comparing that to things with little or no moving parts
Get a Roborock. I've had the S7 Max for over 2 years and its been amazing, its years ahead of the last robot vacuum I had. Go to the roborock website and browse either the legacy models or the refurbished section and you can get some absolute killer deals.
I like my Roborock S7 max. But I can’t compare it to anything. It does get hung up on rugs quite easily but it’s possibly because of the aftermarket side brush I’m using. There is currently a HomeAssisstant issue at this very moment with Roborock though which should be fixed soon. But it’s worrying me because It’s caused by API changes and that is bringing back flashbacks to the MY-Q situation.
Roborock S7 max is nice, it will also mop which it will turn off if it's going over carpet.
I like my Roborock s7 more than any iRobot I have owned.
Roborock S7 max here too. I've got really good integration with HA. I have Node Red flows that have it clean specific rooms on voice command or schedule, and Node Red intelligently chooses times to empty the bin when nobody is in the room. Node Red turns the house AC fan on for a bit when the vacuum empties as well, to clear out the smell.
Personally wasn't worth it for me, but we don't have wide open floors in our flat and it's a little cramped. Can imagine it's better if you do have those wider spaces but found it fairly average at hoovering even on the hardwood floors. Maybe others have better experiences than me but we sold ours fairly quickly after getting it For ref that was the Roborock 7
