I'll have to look more in depth there, good notes. While I've used my Max 705 for a day or two (app is buggy, over it), I am used to an i7+ which has no obstacle avoidance so it seems like S8+ should be a huge upgrade for me, plus solid mopping capability. I try to pick up obstacles anyways, but it is a nice feature (main thing I would have is some cords dangling behind coach, Max 705 seemed to find those fine, socks would be nice too though..) Q10 X5+ seems like another contender, more power perhaps but less advanced obstacle avoidance and mopping (I kind of want to test the mopping before buying 2nd unit and maybe getting auto-clean version).
There will be lots of opinions. Here’s mine: I have a qrevo master and an s7 max+. The spinning mops on the qrevo suck. There’s no weight on them so they don’t clean as good. The dust bin doesn’t make sense and holds nothing. It also can’t find the doc as well. I’d trade the qrevo for an s7 (or 8) any second of any day.
I’ve had a couple models since buying my S7 max. It’s odd that they keep getting worse and worse. I always get downvoted, but in my real world house, the S7 is just light years better than my current revo master (one is upstairs and one downstairs). Beyond frustrating.
Second this! I have a roborock max 7 and it’s been great for vacuuming, but I have had some issues with the mop function a couple times that I think were mainly due to needing to clean the dock drain more often than the recommended every two weeks
I've been seeing more and more posts like this and didn't bither to unbox my saros 10r I got on prime day. Ended up ordering a mova V50 ultra complete. If we don't like that I'll send em both back and wait for black Friday and keep on trucking with my s7 max ultra
I have two S1 pros and this sounds really weird. Will clean under things just fine, take good routes mostly and avoid almost everything it should. Same floor area for me is done in about 40 minutes and it paths really well. Much better than X1 omni and S7 max ultra that I had before. Sounds like a really niche bug or the reason for the recall?
Both. It’ll mark it in the app as pet waste and skip it. The biggest reasons people don’t buy these is dragging pet waste everywhere. It’s a great robot. It gives me all the features I want without costing a million dollars. I had an S7 Max Ultra before upgrading and I switched in large because it didn’t detect a pet accident. Clean up wasn’t hard actually, but I have a senior dog so I needed to upgrade. It goes on sale for $850 regularly and that’s a great price for it. Full price isn’t worth it anymore given what’s coming out
My Roborock is a beast. I have a S7 (HOME) and S8 (OFFICE). Love them I also have a narwhal and its finicky but I like the job it does. Next time I will get the spinney Roborock. As god is my witness I'm never mopping again
I'm no expert was just a rabbit hole I fell down on Reddit. I have a Roborock S7+ Max I use for daily cleaning/mopping. But then I have a Sebo Airbelt K3 Premium for weekly vacuums. Sebo/Miele are great brands. 10 year warranty, German made. All the rage has been bagless canister vacuums but they're actually super dirty and inconvienient. Way easier just to replace bags once they're full. I've had my Sebo for like four years now works just as well as the day I bought it with no maintenance. Replace filters/bags as needed. I had a Dyson stick vacuum prior to that but the battery obviously died, honestly a plug-in vacuum isn't that bad. Long cord, the canister rolls as you vacuum, with those style you're only holding a stick to vacuum with a hose attached so it's not like a full-sized vacuum where all the weight is in your hands. Edit: Forgot to mention, warranty. They have a good warranty for sure but Sebo/Miele are like... SnapOn tools. You can just take them into a dealer and get them repaired, even after your warranty. Like try taking a Dyson stick vacuum in for repair. They'll clean it out probably. But the german vacuums, every part is orderable, like real vacuum repair shops have parts on hand generally or know what to order. Easy to replace a $30 part and your vacuum is back to working versus a lot of brands these days they're basically disposable.
