I’ve had a Roborock s7max V with the empty/fill station for about 2yrs. No problems with it. Mostly wood floors with rugs in some rooms. Two levels. We did have a Great Dane until recently and this robot (we call rick) kept the floors decently clean even with that to contend with. Love that we can have rick clean the floors while we are away from the house. Love he keeps maps of both floors and that we can pull up the camera even when we are away in town to check on things. If budget wasn’t a constraint we would have a second one. Previous 1st and 3rd gen roomba owner.

Significantly. And while I don't have the Revo because it wasn't out yet, paying out the nose for my mop/vacuum was worth every penny. It's an absolute game changer to have freshly mopped floors daily. Mine is the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra and while its not the most amazing mop available, since it's a robot I don't mind making it work unpaid overtime. I tell it to go mop the floors 3 times while I sleep and I wake up with fresh floors. If the kids go nuts in the kitchen I'll have it mop 9 times and that takes care of even the worst of messes they have made.

Lower prices are always great, but I don't regret paying $1k for mine. It's been mopping floors 3-5x per week for two years now. That's like 400 times that I didn't have to mop - and that number just keeps going up. If it can keep going for another couple years I'll be happy as a clam with my purchase. They've already gotten better in the last two years since I got mine so I figure in two years I'll happily overpay for the latest features again.

Surprisingly I haven’t had my S7MaxVUltra’s suck up any socks. Once in a while it’ll suck up a Lego. But not my toddlers socks. Same for cables. I remember when I first got them I thought it was funny how when it would see a cable it would stop, look at it, look away, then look at it again to take a picture and label it on the apps map lol

We have a Roborock S7 MaxV, and I love it. Our main floor (around 850 sq ft) is all hard surface flooring, and it was a lot to sweep each night. Plus we have two large dogs. The Roborock runs each night and makes it a breeze to keep the floors clean; all I have to do is make sure the floor is clear each night and let it do its thing! The S7 MaxV also mops which I set for it to mop every other night, but the best thing is that it has a dock with a water tank that is very convenient. The previous Roborock vacuum I had also mopped, but it had a water bin in the vacuum that I would have to refill after every other mopping which was annoying and sometimes wouldn't get done. Depending on the size of your space / floor, it can be worth it. Too small of a space, and it's probably not worth it.

In the app you can configure the light to be always on.  At least I have that option for the s7mvu.   It is hidden in the reactive obstacle avoidance menu.

Roborock s7max v ultras have a camera and you can drive the robot around.   It announces to the world when the camera is in use.  My experience,  though, is if the robot gets stuck, the camera and remote control are rarely helpful.  It's also laggy and awkward.

Correct.  It does not vacuum when manually driven as far as I can tell.  You can resume vacuuming, though. Sometimes is is good enough to unstick it when stuck, but rarely. For a basic home inspection device, it could work, but is slow and awkward

I got mine for free. But also, now that I’ve experienced it, I think I would have paid full price ($1200)… with that said. You could get a used one and clean it up, and get a package of replacement parts on amazon. They sell kits with new brushes, pads, and bags for like $30… or get a new one but an older model. My S7 Max V Ultra is going for $650 new and it does everything I could ever need perfectly

Ignoring that every one of your posts is a chatgpt output, for a 1B1B even 2B I'd just get the cheapest vacuum unit with base, depending on square feet or if you have pets (I know you don't). If you tend to spend a lot of time mopping/vacuuming, maybe get a mop model but a swiffer/ikea mop once a month is probably what I would do. Some people mop weekly, then get a mop model. 'Worth it' depends on your income level, assets, and priorities, but everyone has their own thresholds for spending. I have an s7 max ultrav that I bought refurbished, and considering the vacuum performance on carpet isn't great and I end up going over it with a dyson, I would've been better off with a cheaper model. It's great for the hard floors, decent at avoiding junk on floors, and mopping is ok but mop systems seem to be improving rapidly and my floor is not flat due to tile choice. I have a $150 wyze (i.e. roborock clone) in my pool house, and honestly, that thing is enough for most people. Just going to a lidar robot vacuum is a huge bump for most people. The self emptying base station is a must for dog owners, I'm about to mod in a bagless system for my s7 as I get it to run the main floor every day. The mopping is fine, but I wish I had auto refill/empty so I could mop automatically, right now I just check the fluids before/during most mops. The AI/vision is decent, doesn't avoid everything but avoids 99% of things. However, I've seen plenty of posts where it will and can still hit animal waste and wouldn't rely on it if you have pets that are known to get sick or have an accident. A basic vacuum system is enough, if I were you I'd just get a base model and a mop. You spoke in another post about generating income from your emergency fund, well the quickest way to generate income is to not spend it and I'm saving you about $1500-1600 for something you don't need based on your post.

My roborock S4 is 8 years old and my S7 is 3 years old with over 3,000 hours of run time and still going fine. So no least not for Roborock brands but that's why you buy the best!

I have had 3 roborocks over the years and they have worked great! My S7 max V ultra travel 180miles before I upgraded to the S8 Max V ultra. Had my S4 since it came out over 8 years ago and still use it for our basement. Also have the Dyad. Roborock makes the best robot vacuums by far.

I would suggest going to Vacuum Wars and looking at the latest video reviews. That YouTuber has the best and most objective reviews. Also Jamie Andrew’s is good if still doing them. Personally, I have a Roborock S7 Max V and think RR does a good product. But I don’t think $1600 is necessary to get a great robotic vacuum cleaner and wouldn’t spend that. I am also considering the E28 and the T50, but having spent $1200 when the Roborock S7 was top of the line, I think I can wait and get a great deal for $6xx between now and Christmas. If I needed one now, I’d consider the T50, but would scrutinize the reviews. For hard floors, I agree with another poster that the e28and roller mop might be the best choice, if money isn’t an issue. I think we’ll hear that the bin is small on the T50, but most other functions are solid and it’s at the top of Vacuum Wars list right now. But they have yet to review the E28.

I’ve been running the Roborock QRevo Curv for 3 weeks after upgrading from a Roborock S7MaxV and it has been excellent. No hair tangling with the split dual brush. The only issue I’ve had is small objects (2-5cm) getting stuck and halting the cleaning cycle. I have young kids and a wife who crafts. We have an extraordinary amount of the small toys and charms everywhere. I’m sure more than 95% of the population lol, so most should be okay.

Yeah my previous one from 2 years ago was straight trash too, I’ve gone through quite a few brands at this point but randomly got the t50 pro recently to give them another shot. I’d say their app is on par with Roborock now, and the cleaning performance I’m getting from this one is miles above my old s7 maxv. Obstacle avoidance is still not the best but I’ve noticed if you run the intelligent cleaning cycles a few times, it gets better

I purchased a Roborock S7 and the family liked it so much that I bought a S7 MaxV the following Black Friday. I have both running on different floors of the house. We’ve owned them for a few years now, and if they died tomorrow, I’d go out and buy whatever their top-of-the-line model is. As others have suggested, get the dock. It makes things so simple. I had a Roborock HA widget at some point, but I found it unnecessary so uninstalled it. I just use the Roborock iOS app. Once you map your house and setup a schedule, there’s not much else to do. FWIW I wasn’t familiar with the Roborock brand prior to all this. I watched this YouTube channel (Vacuum Wars?) that put a bunch of vacuums head-to-head through various challenges to see which ones performed best, and this seemed like a strong performer at that time. Best of luck. Hope this helps!

I briefly owned an s7 maxV and found it identified and avoided more obstacles than my L10s Ultra. The roborock pathing also seems more intelligent and would simply maneuver around the obstacle rather than having to look back three to four times to make sure it avoided the object(L10s U). Perhaps Dreame has come a long way, but I found the software and obstacle avoidance was far superior on the roborock.

Kind of wish you followed up more on the anti-hair stuff with a test. As a German shepherd owner the biggest issue I have with these vacuums is hair handling. I need to clean out my s7maxv constantly because hair gets stuck in the axle. Couple that with poor pickup on carpets with the plastic brush and it's a frustrating experience. I feel like very few reviewers cover it mostly because it's probably hard to create a repeatable test for hair embedded in a carpet.. but that's really the biggest drawback for all these devices for me. Anyway the rest of the review was great as always.

I got my Saros 10R yesterday around this time (purchased it myself). I'm upgrading from a S7 Max V. Had a Neato D7 before that and a Robock S5 Max and very briefly a Dreame X40 that broke. [https://i.imgur.com/NwJO3iC.png](https://i.imgur.com/NwJO3iC.png) **Few things before I go into it:** I live in a relatively small home. My first floor is mostly hardwood/tile with a 15x20' area rug in the living room. My second floor is all deep carpet. I have a long haired German Shepherd and a wife that both shed a fair amount of longish hair. I keep my rooms mostly tity but my computer does have a fair amount of cables/wires that are wrapped together, but run along the floor. My wife also has a Korg keyboard that has a foot pedal and she often leaves it on the ground. **Super Pros:** * General hardwood/tile mopping significantly better than the S7 Max V. My wife and I both noticed it immediately after the first clean I ran. It covered more areas, got closer to objects (the pivoting side mop helps a lot with that) it reached under my cabinets and it was able to get under two pieces of furniture the S7Max couldn't fit under. * Low Pile Rug performance is much better. I do wish I could set it to 2x crisscross every time on the area rugs.. but the mixed pattern will have to do. * It's way, way, way quieter. General runs are quieter. Max+ mode (or w/e its called) is way quieter. Mopping is now nearly silent. The transfer from robot to base is much quieter than the S7 MaxV. * The Anti-Tangle brush is actually Anti-Tangle. All my previous vacuums would get hair tangled in a single run - I'd clean them at least once a week (neato way more) to get all the hair out. After 24 hours, I see 0 hair stuck. Not one. * The feature set is more rich over the S7 Max. This one is a think a bit annoying because I feel like a some of these features the S7 could do, its just software locked.. but having the ability to do pet area deep cleaning, mixed pattern cleaning, the rug options + all the leave behind the mops, extensions, re-mopping, etc is all really cool. * The detergent dispenser is a nice addition over the S7 MaxV. * The ability to clean out the tray and the self cleaning stuff is super nice. **Kind of Pros but maybe a little not:** * Hair Pickup on carpet is better than the S7 MaxV but still worse than the Neato D7. * I confirmed this by running the S7 Max V first (with rubber brush), on my upstairs carpeted room - that I purposely haven't vacuumed in a week. S7 Max V barely got anything and had some wrapped around the edges - as it does. The Saros 10R filled about a quarter of it's bin - but no tangles! The Neato filled the entire, much larger, bin, the chute partially jammed with hair and the bristle brush was wrapped completely. Neato is still king of deep carpet cleanup (if you ignore how jammed full of hair it gets) * I think the takeaway here is that the Saros 10R is big improvement but I find Roborock still lacks with hair pickup on deep carpets - even area rugs, to an extent.. over much older vacuums. * Pivoting Side Brush is good.. sometimes? When it works, it obviously works and pulls stuff out of corners, I don't find it working that often though - especially under the cabinets/corner cabinets. It comes outsometimes for a bit then goes away. (this is with the AI Lab Flexi arm thing enabled). * Navigation seems similar/better. In terms of actually going around and finding how to get there, it seems quicker (i haven't timed it) and it does less random movements like my S7 Max V did both during and after its cleaned. **Cons:** * The obstacle avoidance seems worse, maybe even way worse? I know it's only been 24 hours and I know the system the 10R specifically uses is new, but so far it's been pretty bad at detecting things, especially cables. * Yesterday when I was messing around with it, it ran into one of my dogs stuffed toys and got stuck on it. It also decided to "jump" little tray tables I have under my sofa, and got stuck on a wire behind them. (I set this as a no-go from now on). * This morning was the first time I ran it on a schedule - I do it early before I wake up, but I woke up to it stuck on the cable for my Wife's keyboard, the mop got wrapped in the cable and it pulled it off. * Just an hour or so ago today, when I was testing the carpet pickup on the second floor, it ran into a sock under my nightstand and got jammed. * Kind of disappointing considering my S7 Max V maybe got stuck twice, in the entirety of 2 years I owned it. I'm chalking this up to a combination of bad luck, weirdness because it's trying to hop stuff the others wouldn't attempt, and relatively new firmware on a new type of obstacle avoidance system. I hope it will improve. * All the Bins are too damn small. * My dog blows his coat twice per year. When that happens my S7 Max V can sometimes get nearly filled with dog hair. I've had to split rooms up into subrooms in order to force it to go back to the dock more often to empty. In this case - the Saros 10R not only has a smaller bin, but it's better at cleaning hair. I can see this being a problem. * It seems to use more water than my S7 MaxV while mopping, yet the clean and dirty bin are both smaller. Which means more refills. * The gloss on the front of the dock is a fingerprint magnet. I hate it. **Conclusion:** Overall, again after only 24 hours, I think its' a pretty nice upgrade over the S7 MaxV and I plan on keeping it. I'm hoping software improves the obstacle avoidance, which is my biggest concern at the moment. I also hope Roborock continues to improve it's suction/hair pickup performance - i really hope youtubers also create better tests for this. A lot of these guys say these newer robots are "perfect" at it and it's just not been my experience at all. They are getting better - in fact tangles seem solved, which is great, but they also leave a ton of hair behind.. even when compared to older robot vacuums but especially compared to a Dyson or something. **If anyone has any questions or wants anything specifically answered let me know ill do my best to respond.**

Thanks for the objective early review. I'm waiting for the UK release to upgrade from my S7 MaxV, and pet hair is also one of my drivers. We have two long-haired cats who tend to leave an invisible layer of fur that floats on the carpet; it's not noticeable, but if you rub it with your hand it balls up into fluff. With the S7, we've tended to find that the silicon roller doesn't pick this up very well, with the benefit of that being it doesn't clog up, whereas if we swap and use the brush roller, it does a good job but clogs in minutes. It's good to hear from your review and others I've read this week that real-world performance with long hair seems to be really good. Could you clarify if the 10R has a RGB camera like the S7 MaxV? Cached versions of the Roborock spec reference it, but I've seen third-party comparison tables say it doesn't, and the official Roborock site doesn't seem to mention it any more.

Even ancient og Roborock S5 will absolutely outshine this thing. They can often be found used for like 80usd just because the included charger costs like 50usd and fits all roborocks. The S5 can be held alive forever with cheap original parts from AliExpress. If you have more cash then roborocks MaxV models often go used pretty cheap and especially the S7 MaxV is fenomenal.

Yes, S7 MaxV is another league compared to S7, Q7, S5, S6, Q5. S6 maxv was already a small step. I also have an S8 at the moment, and it's not as good as the S7 MaxV. It's is very close, though, if the price difference is high. S7maxv is the only robot that recognizes Ikea Poang as its mortal enemy and avoids it. It sometimes gets stuck on things, but I no longer clean before turning it on remotely.

From my experience. Roborock Q8 very good for the price, S7 Maxv little better than S8, both great, Dreame L10S Pro as great. The newer more expensive stuff is even little better like X40 Ultra, but it has the docks.. Electrolux i9.2 had suprisingly good obstacle avoidance, could even avoid small cables, but god did that robot suck in anything else.

Now updates may not fix it, but I’m betting on it fixing it soon. It’s new tech it’s going to be buggy. If you aren’t willing to have problems at release wait a few months and see if the updates will fix the problems.

As others have said, Vacuum wars have some great comparison videos with stains (and I think the channel owner is a moderator on this subreddit now.) I have an irobot J7+ (just vacuum, with auto-emptying dock) and a Roborock s7 maxv, which is a vacuum and mop combo. I don't have the dock, because I foolishly believed like many others I could buy it without it, and get the dock for cheap later on. The mopping function is fantastic, and is great for cleaning footprints, dirt, and very light stains. Doing 3 or so passes on the same room can do a somewhat better job, but tough stains will require manual cleaning eventually, and I suspect that will be the case regardless of the vacuum you get. It's definately worth it to have though, and saves a ton of effort and time in my case. I also have a regular cordless vacuum/mop combo (A Tineco Floor One S5), which I would not recommend. It works decently enough (although it also doesn't get tough stains, which is what I was hoping for), but cleanup is a pain. I've only used it a couple times in months, and usually send out the other robot vacuums first to get up all the hair and debris to make cleanup easier when I do. **Shop around for a while, but don't order until Black Friday or something like Prime day. Usually you'll get 30-45% discounts on models you're interested in.** Auto-emptying docks are a godsend, and bigger batteries are also really important, IMO. My J7+ often has to charge 1-2 times to finish the job, and over years batteries degrade and get weaker. I've heard good things about later models of self-cleaning and emptying versions of the mop parts as well--earlier ones had issues with drying the mop pad. TLDR: Mops are definitely worth it.

My Irobot J7+ and Roborock s7 maxv have significantly different power, but not in that sense. The Roborock can go far longer without having to return to the dock and charge, while the irobot often has to charge 1-2 times before finishing the same job. Navigation and mopping are also obviously better. Bigger batteries are key as the machines age, since you can't replace batteries easily. I also have a roborock qrevo with the full dock (which my other one lacks), and it's so much more convenient that it fills the water and cleans and dries the mop all on it's own, as well as emptying the dirt. The J7+ Does have a bigger dirt bag, but it clogs more often IMO.

You can purchase and install the Q5 brush (which has bristles) into your S7 MaxV and the difference in picking up pet hair is beyond night and day. I’ve had the Q5 brush installed in my S7 and now my Q Revo and it works wonders for pet hair on my carpets. Only drawback is you do have to pull hair out of the brush every handful of runs, but that’s really no problem and doesn’t outweigh the benefit of hair pickup.

The S8 MaxV ultra is last gen technology with its vibrating mop. I would choose the Dreame over the S8 max v as it has much better features, the app is just as good but the obstacle avoidance is leagues better. Is the Mova p10 pro ultra not available in your region? It's as good as the Dreame X40 while being significantly cheaper.

Fair enough. In that case it looks like Dreame made a huge improvement with object avoidance with the introduction of their "X" series like the X30 and X40. Considering the QRevo slim is Roborock's best object avoidance offering, the S8 does do worse than it and by extension the S7 is last gen tech. Looking at all the comparisons, most rank the Slim above the S8 and the S7 and then the X40 is well beyond the Slim. It's a shame because roborock would be the best choice if their object avoidance actually was reliable and consistent.

S7 maxv is a $1000 robot while the l10S is a $400 robot. Compare the S7 maxv against the X30 or the X40 and you will find that the Dreame blows roborock out of the water, it's not even close. The QRevo slim is rated as having the best obstacle avoidance of all the roborocks and I purchased one because of that, in my real world testing on carpet and hard floors, it is significantly worse than the Dreame X40 and even my old Eufy x10. So maybe it's the best Roborock but that really isn't a high bar to pass.

S7 maxv - mine is at 51km²/ 1471 hours of cleaning and going strong. Have a qrevo as well that was gifted us but still prefer the older s7. Could probably find a refurbished one well in your price range - upkeep has been basically vacuum bags, 6 or so filters now and 4 main brushes/7 or 8 side brushes. I replace based on condition and not the app suggestions.

I'd look for vacuums that have specific solution for dog hair (like hair cutting brush) and definitely extended warranty if that's an option. Also look how much the dust bag costs because with pets you will have to change them quite often and how easy it is to clean the robot. I have roborock S7 max ultra and it's not low maintenance with pets. I have to clean the brush every other day and hair gets pretty much everywhere (side brush, the small wheel, behind the big wheels...). Today I'd rather get Dreame, but too little too late.

We have the S7 Max Ultra and it has Vibrarise. It’s not great for stains that have dried (coffee, tomato etc) in but it does an excellent job and our tile/marble floors always look noticeably cleaner after. What we tend to do now is run normal vac and mop as our normal day to day and then once a week we’ll run a 2x cycle of vacuum first followed by intense mop. When you run the mop by itself you get a lot more options on how thorough you want it to be. I still think a DIY mop is needed every so often because it doesn’t reach everywhere and can struggle to get deep enough into the grout between tiles but it has taken away a lot of hassle for us in our home.

I will vacuum first with the regular vacuum if my dog hair is out of control ar clearly visible. I try to give the roborock an opportunity to do a good job. If I vacuum consistently, then roborock is fine. If the pet hair and dirt have taken over, then I do a quick refresh with the regular vacuum, maybe a day beforehand even, before the roborock. The S7 max ultra does a more thorough job. Also, keep up on the consistent maintenance. Two dogs and a horse.

ah i just made an assumption based on the fact the one i have is really good and i assumed the newer one could only have improved, but i guess you know what they say about assumption. maybe consider the S8 max ultra? i believe it also gets good reviews though i cant promise its actually worth the extra over the S7 max ultra (i think its about £300 more for the 8 i know it has stronger suction (not always better, my dreame d9 max 2 has more than the s7 but its not as good) and the built in direct voice commands (rather than through google/alexa) but im not sure theres many other additions in general this thing is awesome, ill be interested to see how it does over an extended period as i too have long, very thick, very strong hair that sheds allover the house, it doesnt seem o have caused an issue yet but im sure it eventually will. its definitely much quieter than my dreame was well except for when it empties the dust bag when it sounds like a regular upright hoover for a few seconds. also i suspect youll find it even better performing than me as until i can afford to get them ripped out i have very thick pile carpets, itll work much better on a hard floor (it does in my kitchen which is stone tiles)

We have a short haired Labrador and are used to see hair constantly. We now run the corner once each morning and our wooden floored downstairs is noticeably cleaner. Pretty much spotless. We still need the ‘big’ hoover once a week. I got it on a steal £499 from Amazon a few months ago. I toyed and switched between Xiaomi integration with downloadable maps and the Roborock one and decided for what I need the Roborock integration worked fine. Only difficulty I had was working out the exact room IDs.

Really really. It'll get itself "stuck" in areas that it could have easily gotten unstuck if it were to be "dumber" and just bump into things on its way out. Instead it "sees" an obstacle and doesn't even try to get unstuck. I know it can get unstuck because I'll drive it through the app out of where it was "stuck" without much difficulty.

The "bumping into everything" part is why my roomba didn't get stuck nearly as often. The roborock "sees" obstacles it deems insurmountable, has a panic attack and just throws it's hands up and says "I'm stuck, come help me!" without actually trying to get out of wherever it is. I know it could have gotten out of about 90% of the situations because I drive it out using the app.

I'm looking for a robot vac/ mop that mops really well with auto fill and empty. I want one that cleans the mop while it's mopping, not just every 10 minutes when it goes back to the dock. And I want one that connects to plumbing so I don't have to deal with filling and emptying tanks. My kitchen floor gets dirty often and I want something that mops very well with little work on my part. I've had the roborock s7 Max ultra and the mop stopped working and it's out of warranty. I've been looking at the eufy s1pro and eufy e25 but they don't connect to plumbing. I see that I can buy the plumbing for the s1 but I'd rather something that comes that way with less bulk instead of an added cost after. I like the idea of the dreame x40 Master but it doesn't clean the mop in real time. The switchbot s10 sounds good but I've seen a lot of negative reviews. Any other ideas or have you been very happy with any of the ones I mentioned?

Look into a roborock s7 max ultra or the s8. Make sure you get a plumbing kit and plumb it in with your washing machine lines or something similar. Program it to run each night in areas that won't bother sleeping people and during the day in areas it won't annoy work from home/summer kids. Having your entire home vacuumed and mopped every day basically eliminates dust in your home. Your air conditioner filters will last noticeably longer, and you will hardly see dust accumulate in the usual spots. I've also noticed I don't have to use Pesticide inside as any food source is removed from scavenger bugs, and with the absence of scavengers comes an absence of predator bugs. As one of the few people I know that have gone down this route, I notice my floors are much cleaner than any of my friends. I don't own a mop or an indoor Broom. They can also be tied in with home assistant if you want to tinker that way.

I've been looking into it myself, than decided, to get a autofill station for My S7 MaxV Ultra as first and maybe wait for a more improved version of that S8 MaxV Ultra, since, they sadly have rushed it a bit and a few of the features aren't on point as they've said. Also, that trade in programm would probably give Me just 250-350$ back for My, now almost a Year in Heavy use, very dusty envoirment. So, eh, gotta do that and maybe put that S7 later on into the shop or soemthing or into the wharehouse, idk. ... Long story short, get one of those autofill stations, and maybe wait a year, at least that's what I'M planning to do since I have it in use almost daily as well. Also, those autofill stations are around 250-350$ on AliExpress, when they're on Sale, sometimes down to 175$, so get one if You can and wait a bit.

I work for an athletic training facility, and we are considering buying a few robovacuums to vacuum/mop the rubber flooring and potentially vacuum the turf. The area in total is large and why we are considering getting a few of them, but the space itself has lots of items, walls, gym equipment etc so it’s not like it’s going to just clean in 5,000sqft of empty space. I know that LiDAR doesn’t do well when it has nothing to reference against (is it worth going with a camera system like the S7?) but I am hoping that with all the items it wouldn’t be too bad. The only large open area is the pitching area which is turf and we probably wouldn’t have it run there consistently, the only area of turf it would run on is the border of the main gym area. I have an S7 MaxV Ultra (or whatever it’s called) at home. Although I think the spinning mop pads may do better than the vibrating single pad.

I've been a long time adopter of robot vacuums and have had my fair share of furry dogs, including a woolly malamute + shiba pair. Currently I only have a single dog (shiba). Right now, I use dual Roborock (Q8 Max+ and S7 MaxV Ultra - upstairs/downstairs) - they are outside of your price window, but there are similar models out there for cheaper. The thing you have to understand about robot vacs is that they are light duty usage. You will still need to maintain a regular deep cleaning routine - whatever you deem necessary to keep your house in a state which you think is acceptable. The robot basically allows you to extend that maintenance window a little bit. Instead of a deep vacuum every week, maybe it's every week and a half. Something like that. They help keep the furballs down, but they won't knock them out. Also, they are much better on hard flooring versus carpet - although if you deep clean carpets, they pick up surface fur/hair well enough. Also keep in mind that you will have to do regular maintenance and replace parts on all of these. They are not zero maintenance machines. The regularity with which you do your maintenance will have a pretty big impact on the overall life of the vacuum. These are also not BIFL. Honestly, these will probably run at their peak performance for around 2-3yrs (depending on how often you schedule their jobs) before they start degrading. Batteries will probably the be the first thing that goes, but these are generally replaceable. I have Roombas that are limping along that are seven+ years old, but you can tell there's just something wrong with them (I swear they're depressed). If I had to slap a lifespan on them, I'd guess five good years. If you're ok with that, Roborock, Dreame, and Ecovacs are the brands that consistently pop up as having decent all around ratings. Roborock is by far the best all-around and most consistent. HOWEVER, this is a very rapidly changing market and what's top dog one year can be completely ousted the next thanks to shitty app updates or... well... tariffs. iRobot and their Roomba still... exists... and I guess they'd be ok as a potential "I just need a robot and this was the only one I could find in the store" option. But everything about them is pretty subpar now - the robots are inconsistent and considered pretty stupid, their app is mediocre, and their pricing is just non-competitive compared to the other brands. At minimum, I would suggest a robot which includes a self-emptying dock. It does drive up the price a bit, and the docks often aren't compatible with other models, even from the same brand - but it's almost a requirement if you have pets, unless you want to empty the robot out halfway though a job. Vacuum Wars has a website with a top 20 list as well as a YouTube channel - very worth checking out. Go through his list, find a robot that has all the functions you're looking for at the price point that's acceptable.

Based on what you’ve written, it seems that the mopping performance isn’t particularly revolutionary compared to spinning or vibrating mops. And the vacuum is average. Eufy’s advertising claims that their mopping is miles ahead of the competition, but no impartial reviews actually confirm this. Most of the YouTube reviews are sponsored by Eufy anyway, so they aren’t really trustworthy. If you already have a recent all-in-one robot like the Roborock S7 MaxV Ultra, which is working flawlessly but just a bit weak when it comes to mopping, would you really consider upgrading?

First of all Z70 is just a bad version of Saros 10R! So don’t even consider it, the internal tanks are so small just for a gimmick. Why I’d say Saros 10R over S8 MAXV Ultra (I have both): - auto detachable spinning mops: - can cross thresholds; - base had removable tray for easy cleaning; - better object detection in smaller frame so fits more places. - I have 3 cats and they both vacuum equally I’d say. I run them multiple times per day so I don’t let it build up too much. But spinning mops are really better.

I have a S7 with empty dock. The auto empty is worth it unless you don't mind emptying the very small dustbin every day. Kind of negated the automated setup for me prior to getting the emptier. I will add a warning to not use the integrated mop feature. Go Google cliff sensors errors on roborock ( and other brands ) Is a common issue. After prolonged usage the sensors get damaged by moisture and then robot stops working. I had 2 models last about 1 year, both ended up on same issue. Sure, just replace the sensors. You have to be confident to pull the unit apart. Is a big job. I have now tried 3 different sets of sensors, all noted for my model, and still having same issue. I will buy a mop separate going forward. Stay away from ecovacs brand. Shit support. Units keep going offline. Just go Google ecovacs security and the camera usage. My 2c. Still waiting in set 3 of sensors. Last try.....then in the bin.

Hi everyone, I have a Roborock S7, and even though I clean it regularly, it often looks like the photos I’ve attached after just one(!) or two cleaning runs. Long hair, in particular, seems to be a huge issue – it constantly wraps around the main brush and even the small front wheel. I don’t have an auto-empty dock, so I clean the robot entirely by hand. At this point, I feel like I’m putting more effort into maintaining the robot than I would if I just vacuumed manually. I’ve tried everything: cleaning it more frequently, taking precautions like removing hair beforehand, but nothing seems to help. I wouldn't say that my flat is dirtier than average. Has anyone had similar experiences? Do you have any tips to fix this issue, or should I just start looking for an alternative? I’m seriously questioning if the robot is still worth it, considering how much time I spend cleaning it. Looking forward to your thoughts and advice!

I like my roborock s7. I have the manual empty dock but will eventually upgrade to the auto. My girlfriend is allergic to cats and dogs, and we have both, so I got the vacuum, and it has greatly reduced her sneezing. It's smart and doesn't just bump around, so it cleans rooms pretty fast but still accurate.

My Roborock S7 has been nearly flawless. I just fill / empty the tanks for it's weekly cleaning (mop & vac - carpet / hard floor) & it gives me perfect floors. Needs the occasional hairball detangle & rare maintenance item now & then, but it's easily one of my better investments. It will occasionally attempt to eat some stray things (clothing / small cords), but it's just a reminder to pick up before his cleaning day.

Well bird digestive systems are a bit different from a dogs. They move food through their gut so fast it doesn't have time to ferment or develop a smell unless they are sick. The vac/mop robot has detachable mopping pads that can be machine washed though. I don't know how well it works with dog urine but they generally look brand new after a wash. The pads do wear out over time but most of mine have lasted all 4 years I've had them.

Coming from the S7, I’m genuinely impressed how fast and how far the vacuum and mopping robots have improved over such a short time. For me the best perk is that I no longer need to interact with the robot ( topping up water tank and frequent manual mop cloth change). I understand that the Z70 is essentially the 10R with an added arm. The robot mostly recognises fabric such as towel and socks as object it could pick up and put into the designated storage bin. It did false identify the piano legs as a fabric today. Not sure why. Since the identification is not 100%, the robot does not automatically pick the objects up during cleaning but pins the item in the map and allow you to send the robot to pick up the object and place it into the storage bin. Still learning how to use it. If anyone has useful tips, please share

Yea I had the basic S7 and a charging dock. Auto cleaning, binning, and water top up docks wasn’t a thing then. As I mentioned, one of the pain points I had with the S7 was the need to regularly maintains the robot; clear bin, top up water tank, clean and change mop cloth, clear hair stuck on rollers and brush. The latest models Z70/10R with dock eliminates all these now (I hope it does!)

I have the Roborock S7 I got on sale for Amazon Black Friday (believe $380?) and I love it. It includes a water mop pad which maybe not cleans super well but removes all footprints on our wood floors which looks like. I bought it in 2023 and still going as brand new. I do replace parts like the brushes and filters when the app tells me it’s due for replacement; although I double the time as I think the parts are fine. Have about 550hr+ runtime and working like a charm. When we update our basement I’ll move this one down there and replace with a new one. Roborock sells some with auto dust unloading and auto mopping which imo is a lot more money. I’m happy with manually emptying since it’s good to inspect the robot every so often and get any hair out of the brushes.

S7 / S8 Ultra docks have an extra complex mop washer which is not needed in a Qrevo. It tends to get messy in the dock tray and the thing is hard to clean because it's not removable. Furthermore it makes the docks expensive and thus less economical. If you can't stand your appliance being covered with residue, don't buy. The revo tech needs less maintenance.

All MaxV models, plus Qrevo Master which is an exception to the naming conventions. The camera isn't just for better obstacle avoidance. It can be used to transmit live video feed to the mobile app. The newer models can do AI based object identification. Although I highly doubt this will result in better cleaning performance. Agreed on the Eufy. If poop avoidance is a must, the Eufy S1 Pro is probably the recommendation. Dreame could be an alternative. Roborock is not on par with these.

It sounds like you need a versatile robot that can handle both mopping and vacuuming without making your rugs and carpets wet. I've tried the Roborock S7, which has a strong vacuum feature combined with a mopping system that lifts when it detects carpet, keeping everything dry. Another option to consider is the Ecovacs Deebot Ozmo series, known for its advanced mapping and smart home integration, which helps optimize cleaning patterns. Both offer features that reduce the risk of wet carpets. If you're still unsure, checking out reviews on ConsumerRating could give you a clearer idea since they cover a wide range of models and features.

I have 3 large dogs - hardwood floor, minimal door mats, and tile in bathrooms only. I love love love having them!!!! They have helped me so much! In areas that my dogs are in the most, I split the room themselves into 2 sections in the map. That way it goes back to empty itself and does not overwhelm the vacuum. The narwal freo z ultra and freo x ultra both have anti tangle brushes. In my 1+ months of using both of them, no hairs has ever got stuck in the brush or the axle. My wife has super long hair which always annoys me - gets stuck on the regular vacuums brush and the roborock s7 (axles, not on the rollers). But with the narwal, I never had to clean them once. Narwal does a pretty good job of vacuuming and mopping but the app isn't mature and the same goes for the robots themselves. They have some quirks - the mapping/ map updating kinda sucks sometimes and both the robots I had to re-map the house at least 2-3 times. Also, splitting rooms or modifications to the map also has some quirks that annoy me so much. I also had some concerns on privacy so I returned the freo z, still have the freo x, will use it for a bit and decide. The only thing holding me from returning the narwals was/is the anti tangle brush.

I know OP doesn’t have much carpet but for those that see this: I recommend Duo-divide for hard floor and duo-roller for carpet. I have the same model and can agree it is awesome. The only downsides: - Once a two months or so it gets crazy and the map vs reality is offset by half a meter or even more. Roborock gets completely lost, avoiding empty space as it thinks it's a wall and hitting to walls thinking this is the path to the next room. Restoring the map from backup solves the problem. - Once I restore the map from backup, all routines are unusable - they do not work and must be deleted and redone. - It does not automatically avoid the heating vents on the floor and gets stuck on it eventually. I have to use the "no go zones" in each room.

If all you care about is the vacuuming performance, the dyson robot vacuum is the best performer (especially against fine dust and deep carpets), If you want other commodities/features, then the roborock S7 is good. The s8 and newer units have more features but decreased vacuuming performance. I wouldn't get a roomba unless you value support/warranty the most, irobot vacuums aren't the best anymore but they do support their machines for a long time and support is better than what you will get with roborock/dreame/dyson. Regardless of what you choose, modern robot vacuums will do a good job.

No it's not bad advice, vacuumwars tests are often not representative of real world scenarios and fail to mention some of the degradation modern releases have had over older robot vacuums. To be fair, on his review of the S8, he did mention the reduction in performance over the S7, however, he didn't showcase how bad it is compared to the old S7 (particularly against deep carpets and tiled floors). You can see what I mean on this channel: [https://youtu.be/VVnX3uhBiTQ](https://youtu.be/VVnX3uhBiTQ) , the owner uses multiple carpets of different density and materials, uses certified test dust along with other challenges that you'd expect robot vacuums to be able to deal with (tiled floors, hard floors, etc). You can find similar reviews on asian blog posts (chinese & japanese in particular), where roborock gets way more critiques for overhyping their products and reducing the quality of new releases while having zero after-sales support.

Vacuum wise, the dyson vis nav is the leader right now. Not the smartest or nicest features but the core product is as good as it gets today. Modern robot vac models focus on quantity of features over quality and people seem to like it, which is why flagship models have tons of features that you (or the robot) probably won't use. If you want something smarter but don't mind having worse vacuuming performance, then go for the roborock s7. I'd suggest the S8 if it wasn't because it has worse vacuuming performance than the previous model. I have a dreame and roborock and honestly can't tell that much of a difference between the two.

Eufy is pretty good and great value for a robot that includes self cleaning mop. But I will say that the robot is a bit dumb in attempting to get over transitions between different height floors, compared to a Roborock S7 that I've used in the same space. My kitchen and bathroom tile was a centimeter higher than my hardwood floor in the hallway. My Eufy x10 would keep trying unsuccessfully to cross that threshold and eat up its entire battery. Sometimes the x10 will make it onto the higher tile, but then not realize it and navigate back off the tile. I've found that putting the robot into mopping mode helps it get over such floor transitions more easily. Or if I am in vacuum only mode, if I'm home I might give it a firm shove with my foot over the threshold. They contacted support asking for better programming to get over thresholds, but a half year later, I don't see any improvement. The robot needs to at least realize it can't cross the threshold and give up rather than keep trying... I have since moved to a renovated home with no such transitions between rooms, and the x10 is great.

At the time of Roborock S7, I hadn't heard much about ecovacs, dreametech and others that are up there now. Longevity, support, etc. considerations I went with S7. Now though it's a mess. There's really no right or wrong. They all do the same thing +/-. Even the most basic new comer has auto empty/dry story time etc. I'll tell you though. I had crappy roller mop that didn't do any "smart" things. I hated cleaning it. Not saying it's the best or anything but with Roborock F25 ACE and Dyson V15 I can do the whole cleanup full house in no time vs hours of cleaning of robot cleaner that I already have to do a pre-cleanup for all the toys we have around. If I leave them, they'll get chewed, tangled up.. it'll take robo 5x the amount of time to navigate around crap and by the time it cleans up some rooms it'll run out of battery. Sure, I still use it when things are tidy and it cuts down on my efforts but for quick clean up, standalone mop/vacuum is a must for me, that I discovered..

We have a Roborock with auto garbage collection / mopping (The S7, but there are newer models now). Quite nice. Highly reccomend. Also have one of the fancy switchbots (the S10) that automaticalls fills and empties itself directly from a water source... and highly do not reccomend. The navigation is worse than both the Roborock and a cheap knock off machine I bought years ago. And it leaks. Consistently. It sometimes even manages to flood things. Really really not ready for release.

The wifi protocol at this point is deprecated, and I haven't bothered to try to overcome that, but as mentioned below, I can just hit the clean button and off it goes. I have two shorthair cats that shed, shed, shed and shed and the S7 deals with it just fine. I only just had to buy a consumable parts pack last year.

I use, repair and maintain all sorts of robot vacuum cleaners from many different manufacturers. I have owned only Roborocks, including the S7 that we wore out completely, and our current lineup including a pair of basic S8s (charging dock only, no fancy features) and a Saros 10R. I am very familiar with robovacs! I am of the opinion that the S8 vacuums rugs and carpets much, much better than any other robovac in my experience. Hard floors and mopping are basic and relatively easy, and most robovacs do a decent job with them. Our home has a lot of foot traffic, pets and people with long hair. My basic test for how well a robovac vacuums is to have one vacuum our three carpeted bedrooms on its maximum suction setting. When it is done, I send in one of our S8s to cover the same area using its maximum suction setting. Whichever robovac goes first should pick up more dust, dirt and hair, right? Our S8s consistently come back with four to five times the amount of debris than any other robovac I have ever sent in first, including our fancy new Saros 10R. I have even sent in one S8 first, followed by the second one. The first one will bring back a full dustbin. The second one will be almost empty. There are many other similar situations that I have observed but do not test regularly, so I cannot really use them as any kind of fair comparison, but, observationally, the S8 seems to very consistently out perform any other robovac when it comes to cleaning rugs and carpets. Obviously, there are many other areas that are important when it comes to robovacs, such as navigation, mopping etc. I am not looking at these areas at the moment. As a vacuum cleaner only, our S8s out perform our Saros 10R so significantly and consistently, that I really only use our Saros 10R to vacuum under stuff that the S8s do not fit under. Otherwise, the Saros 10R is a mopping machine in our home. I have even consulted Roborock customer service extensively in order to find ways to improve its vacuuming ability without success. I am curious if anyone else has made any meaningful comparison between the S8s vacuuming abilility and any other robovacs. It is my gold standard for rugs and carpets right now, and nothing else has been able to come anywhere close it it. With how quickly our home gets dirty and full of hair, I run our robovacs daily through our entire house. Especially our S8s have very high milage on them. Has anyone seen any kind of robovac that out performs the S8s vacuuming ability in any kind of meaningful real-world test?

We had to retire our S7 due to excessive wear. That why I bought our first S8. Our robovacs get used a lot! Both of our current S8s have over 200,000 square feet (19,000 square meters) of history under their belts and are probably due for new batteries soon. The S7 is a workhorse and does very well. My daughter has one too and loves it. You would absolutely love an S8 for vacuuming rugs and carpets. It will pick up much more dust, dirt, hair, cat litter and other debris than the S7. There are fancier robovacs out there that do all sorts of amazing stuff, but I have yet to see one that out performs the S8 as a vacuum cleaner only. Even the Dreame X50, which has a very similar vacuuming module with much higher suction, does not do a better job. If you do decide to try an S8, I can only recommend the base model with charging dock only. The fancier versions with auto mop washing can be problematic as the mop washing system gets clogged with mud, and it is a pain in the neck to clean them at times. There are better robovac mopping systems available that are much easier to maintain than the ones on the fancier S8s. But one cannot beat them for vacuuming in my experience, although someone did talk about the Dyson 360 above. It may be a great option to explore.

generally I'd agree with their ratings. of course, like all review sites, they only use one sample, and usually the earlier firmware version released. we've never had hair tangle issues (or since robot vacuums and regular vacuums have the same issue, it never seemed like a big deal to clean them once in a while), but they seem to prioritize it. I'm still not sold on docking stations. Many a time I'll find something stuck in my roborock s7 (piece of cardboard, whatever) that I wouldn't see if I used a dock. Vacuum wars certainly ranks good docks higher.

I started with a dumb robot and spent a lot of time 'robot proofing' the house so it wouldn't get stuck on cords, or trying to go under sofas and dressers. Adding bumpers under couch edges, raising up furniture with foam pads so it could go under, etc. and it still got stuck somewhere random 20% of the runs. the lidar and mapping go / no go zones completely changes the ability to complete the job. That is easier than dealing with a dumb robot. My roborock S7 rarely gets stuck. A roborock Q5 is $140! You could buy a new one if it broke after warranty and it'd still be cheap.

yeah, no carpets or pets, then you just need to much sure it can complete its run without getting stuck somewhwere. lots of objects that are in random places each day like toys? or fixed location like cables, planters, etc? as long as you get mapping / keep out zones, any robot will handle that. my roborock s7, (just lidar and bump sensors, no obstacle avoidance cameras) does fine. once in a while it'll eat a shoe lace and not complete the run. how crazy high are the thresholds? most robots can handle 2 cm, if more, then look at replacing it or getting one of the newer robots designed with 'legs' to raise up.

We have four roborock S7’s running in our 5,000 sqft office. Bought them since they first came out years ago. They run every day. We just replace the regular maintenance parts - rollers, mop pad, brush and clean sensors. Only last year did we replace the battery for all 4. Other than that, no issue at all, rock solid, very pleased that we also have them for our homes too. We are considering the Eufy S1 Pro with water hookups. We have wood floors and it would be nice to have a roller mop that cleans better than what roborock has. If Roborock has a roller mop with water hookups, we prefer to stick with them, the app is convenient and we like the product.

I would not recommend it at all. If you didn’t get the S8 the only other one I would say would be the Saros 10 (not the R though). I like the mopping on them far better than the spinning mops. I think the sonic mopping just cleans better. And I have 5 dogs, a cat and live in a dusty, desert area so I put them through the test.

Basically, if you want the best vacuum and obstacle avoidance, you will want one of the top bots! Currently the top dogs are the Saros 10 / Saros 10R and last years models the S8 MaxV Ultra and the Qrevo Egde / Curve. We mop A L O T and like, besides emptying the dirty water tank daily / every second day and refilling daily / every second day, i only have to do "deep maintenance" which involves washing the water filter (its hard plastic so no drying time) and washing underneat it and the smaller mop with a damp cloth, and thats for someone who does the deep+ program once a week. If you just do regular vac & mop, depending on how big of a house you have, and the program you use, you wont need to refill the water tank more than like every 3 days realistically, and it only takes like 30 seconds to do so! Feel free to DM me if you have more questions or just ask them here :)

I've been in the same boat, dealing with pet hair from my two furballs! IMO, it's crucial to have something with strong suction and efficient mopping abilities for a 400sqm tiled house. Among your choices, the dual rollers of the S8 MaxV Ultra seem like they'd handle pet hair really well, but don’t overlook having a solid all-around option. If you’re after something versatile and future-proof, you might want to consider checking out [this handheld vacuum](https://link.getsosocial.com/handheld-vacuum). They’re known to manage pet hair like a boss and are pretty robust for large tiled spaces. You won't regret making the investment!

Are you sure about that? Because I'm pretty sure I remember them demoting the S8 MaxV Ultra quite badly after their updated mopping test. And in my experience it was very mediocre. I also mentioned the water tanks and maintenance because OP said he was a newbie, so it's not unreasonable to assume that he's not familiar with the required maintenance of these devices. That's not something the manufacturer will readily mention, and most reviews will barely gloss over maintenance or skip it altogether.

Ignore what everyone wrote here. No one knows what they are talking about. What you need is a robot with cameras and flash and lidars on the front so it can avoid everything in the path. All the models listed here are wrong. What you need in my opinion is a maxV model from roborock (they are a bit more expensive but for a reason). They have one of the best avoidance system. They get discounted heavily during sales like prine day, black friday etc. MaxV is the name u want. You could get the Q revo pro or Q revo MaxV wich is a bit more than you probably would pay but it mops the floor as well and that means you can go weeks without having to mop yourself. Some dreame vacuums also perform well. Please avoid roomba and other american mainstream models, they are a decade behind (sadly) to chinese brands like roborock and dreame. Another thing: on youtube there is a huge community with all kinds of pets and kids-tests with obstacles with every model on earth so you can see it yourself what will work for you

Some is better than nothing at all. Their MaxV models have the strongest object avoidance, and benefit the most from updates as well. I recommend watching the latest VacuumWars video on the Q Revo Master, and he actually apologizes because he originally said the Q Revi max v wasn't worth it due to the bad object avoidance. However he learned there was an update, and after that it was a night and day difference. It's no different to any other computer, first couple months or so are always the toughest. After an update or two they are significantly better.

It depends on how bad your dog hair situation is. My son and daughter in law have gone through 4 of various brands in just over a year. They just gave up entirely. They have 4 full size shedding dogs though. They said it was def the dog hair that kill the vacs and not the kids. On the other hand, my wife and I have a Roborock Ultra and 3 small non shedding dogs. Our robo vac is by far one of our best purchases. Why run it when going for a walk? I have a Roborock self emptying one now and mostly got that because it could vacuum and mop. Before I had a neato bot vac and dir just vacuuming the neato is far superior. That did a way better job of throughly heavy duty vacuuming, when I had that vacuum I had 3 German shepherds and a black lab so I definitely needed a ton of suction and power that didn’t clog, get tangled etc. but now I live in the north and with snow and ice and mud I needed mopping too. I also now only have one German shepherd, my other dogs don’t shed as much. But I also have a pot belly pig that always brings in mud. So the Roborock works great for that but for straight vacuum and suction power the neato is better.

We have two shedding dogs and we love our Roborocks. The first one, while it was fantastic filled kinda quickly (not their fault, our dogs shed A LOT) so it was a minor inconvenience to empty it halfway through it's cleaning 2700sqft. My brother became disabled so I gave him that one for his apartment. He loves it and his helper can empty it and help him with harder care items so it saves him money (he was initially being charged an hour every day for vacuuming, now he's not). The second one I got was self emptying so it can continue all by itself and I really appreciate it. I only have to empty the main basin once a week and that's it. Super convenient and does a fantastic job cleaning. I used to vacuum at least twice a day to stay on top of the hair. Now I do a "deep" vacuum once a week- baseboards, under carpets, etc. Roborock gave me hours of my life back and that's not an exaggeration.

Second the OP.  I'd recommend getting a Roborock or similar with self emptying vacuum. It works best on hardwood floors. Carpet not so much. Look into robots with high suction power. Like the other OP, you will still need to dyson up nooks and crannies manually, but the ability to schedule frequent self vacuum in high traffic areas cuts down on your workload significantly.  The self mopping feature imo is not worth it, but maybe the newest models have improved.  From experience, you will want robots that can detect animals (I've seen videos where the robot runs over the dogs tails, gets stuck, and terrifies the dogs). Also look for ones that can detect objects like poop, so you don't come home to a Jackson pollock painting. Look into the clearance height of the robot as well, and compare to your furniture if you are looking to have the robot go under couches and stuff. For example, our roborock barely fits under the couch, and even with 1 cm clearance, will avoid going under the couch if it detects the under-couch fabric is hanging too low (we fixed this by reholstering the bottom of the couch). Worth mentioning if you work from home that the self emptying vacuum feature can get loud, but it is usually very brief and you should be able to schedule emptying times. The robot vacuum companies get you on the replacement parts, which are not cheap. You do get what you pay for though, and routine maintenance (cleaning sensors, replacing brushes, untangling hair from rollers) goes a long way in longevity. I haven't found a robot vacuum that does not pick up hairs in the dog roller yet, so expect to periodically open up the robot to remove hair (usually very easy). For replacement parts, you can go third party for cheaper. Especially so when buying replacements for big brand/popular models. For example, you can get an unofficial 5 pack of vacuum bags for the self emptying vacuum for the same cost as 1 official one (or something like that). For carpets, I'd just go with those manual carpet brushes. Picks up way more hair more efficiently than any vacuum. Just my 2 cents.

Roborock because of how it maps, you can edit the map, you can program how loud it is, and you can even get ones that have a mop attachment
