I purchased a Roborock S7 and the family liked it so much that I bought a S7 MaxV the following Black Friday. I have both running on different floors of the house. We’ve owned them for a few years now, and if they died tomorrow, I’d go out and buy whatever their top-of-the-line model is. As others have suggested, get the dock. It makes things so simple. I had a Roborock HA widget at some point, but I found it unnecessary so uninstalled it. I just use the Roborock iOS app. Once you map your house and setup a schedule, there’s not much else to do. FWIW I wasn’t familiar with the Roborock brand prior to all this. I watched this YouTube channel (Vacuum Wars?) that put a bunch of vacuums head-to-head through various challenges to see which ones performed best, and this seemed like a strong performer at that time. Best of luck. Hope this helps!

homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Reco... ->I have the S7 MaxV. I use the native Roborock integration. It mostly works fine, but from time to time it looks like the connection goes to “disconnected”. It automatically restores, but it is kind of irritating.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->Yea, that is the reason I tried to move to the official one
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->As others have said, Vacuum wars have some great comparison videos with stains (and I think the channel owner is a moderator on this subreddit now.) I have an irobot J7+ (just vacuum, with auto-emptying dock) and a Roborock s7 maxv, which is a vacuum and mop combo. I don't have the dock, because I foolishly believed like many others I could buy it without it, and get the dock for cheap later on. The mopping function is fantastic, and is great for cleaning footprints, dirt, and very light stains. Doing 3 or so passes on the same room can do a somewhat better job, but tough stains will require manual cleaning eventually, and I suspect that will be the case regardless of the vacuum you get. It's definately worth it to have though, and saves a ton of effort and time in my case. I also have a regular cordless vacuum/mop combo (A Tineco Floor One S5), which I would not recommend. It works decently enough (although it also doesn't get tough stains, which is what I was hoping for), but cleanup is a pain. I've only used it a couple times in months, and usually send out the other robot vacuums first to get up all the hair and debris to make cleanup easier when I do. **Shop around for a while, but don't order until Black Friday or something like Prime day. Usually you'll get 30-45% discounts on models you're interested in.** Auto-emptying docks are a godsend, and bigger batteries are also really important, IMO. My J7+ often has to charge 1-2 times to finish the job, and over years batteries degrade and get weaker. I've heard good things about later models of self-cleaning and emptying versions of the mop parts as well--earlier ones had issues with drying the mop pad. TLDR: Mops are definitely worth it.
RobotVacuums • Can robot vacuums with mopping functi... ->I'm happy with mine as well. Luck of the draw, maybe? I had the Roborock S7 MaxV before and it's obstacle avoidance was more of obstacle attraction.
RobotVacuums • Eufy X10 Review after 350+ hours ->I briefly owned an s7 maxV and found it identified and avoided more obstacles than my L10s Ultra. The roborock pathing also seems more intelligent and would simply maneuver around the obstacle rather than having to look back three to four times to make sure it avoided the object(L10s U). Perhaps Dreame has come a long way, but I found the software and obstacle avoidance was far superior on the roborock.
RobotVacuums • Which robot Vacuum+mob cleaning shoul... ->I have all hardwood and use two devices. The Roborock is an excellent vacuum and I like their ap the best. I have an older S7 but it still powers through my 3 dog house. And a narwhal which does a 80% good job at mopping. Together my house stays pretty clean ;)
RobotVacuums • Looking to buy my first robot vacuum ... ->You can do fine grained integrations such as room and zone vacuuming, integrate this into a map on the dashboard, etc. It's very good really - my only complaint is a slight delay in the commands.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->I recommend the Roborock S7. It has excellent edge cleaning capabilities and advanced navigation for thorough coverage.
RobotVacuums • Does anyone own a robot vacuum that e... ->I like my roborock s7. I have the manual empty dock but will eventually upgrade to the auto. My girlfriend is allergic to cats and dogs, and we have both, so I got the vacuum, and it has greatly reduced her sneezing. It's smart and doesn't just bump around, so it cleans rooms pretty fast but still accurate.
AustralianCattleDog • Looking for best robot vacuum ... ->S7 maxv is a $1000 robot while the l10S is a $400 robot. Compare the S7 maxv against the X30 or the X40 and you will find that the Dreame blows roborock out of the water, it's not even close. The QRevo slim is rated as having the best obstacle avoidance of all the roborocks and I purchased one because of that, in my real world testing on carpet and hard floors, it is significantly worse than the Dreame X40 and even my old Eufy x10. So maybe it's the best Roborock but that really isn't a high bar to pass.
RobotVacuums • Which robot Vacuum+mob cleaning shoul... ->Fair enough. In that case it looks like Dreame made a huge improvement with object avoidance with the introduction of their "X" series like the X30 and X40. Considering the QRevo slim is Roborock's best object avoidance offering, the S8 does do worse than it and by extension the S7 is last gen tech. Looking at all the comparisons, most rank the Slim above the S8 and the S7 and then the X40 is well beyond the Slim. It's a shame because roborock would be the best choice if their object avoidance actually was reliable and consistent.
RobotVacuums • Which robot Vacuum+mob cleaning shoul... ->My roborock s7 is pretty resistent to getting Hair Stuck on the axle. The Hair just kinda goes under the Rubber of the axle and just stays there? I once tried to get rid of it but there was enough to make a wig so I left it and it is fine
homeassistant • For housekeeping, what are the best ... ->I also have the s7 and I would say the q revo looks and Sounds Better.
homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Reco... ->I have a shepherd mix and this time of year he's shedding like crazy. I have a Roborock S7 on my first floor (hardwood and I like having the mop) and a Roborock Q5 Pro for the second floor (medium pile carpet and I don't need the mopping). I didn't opt for self-empty bases for either and I'm actually happy I didn't because I would be filling up the bags every week. I simply empty the bins into the trash once a week (more so now because of shedding) and I'm good to go. A few notes: * the Q5 Pro has a much larger dust bin than the older Q5 and an updated roller design. I'm seeing good results with dog hair pick up and the larger bin is welcome. * The Q5 Pro dust bin design is WAY better than the S7...so make sure to look at dust bin design whatever you buy because some are annoying to empty. * I also like Roborock's software, mainly the ability to schedule cleaning of different rooms at different times. * you can absolutely get a good vacuum under $500, I think I got the Q5 Pro for $299. w/Self Empty it might be $499.
RobotVacuums • Basic Question - Best Robot Vacuum fo... ->Bought the Roborock S7 recently—amazing vacuuming and mopping capabilities, worth every cent!
RobotVacuums • [deleted by user] ->Roborock S7. It’s not cheap $300-$450 range but it performs in every metric. I was skeptical but it can send it out when I think the floor is clean and it comes back full. The mop attachment actually does clean my hardwoods and tile. I use hot water only and again surprised it works.
AustralianShepherd • What’s the best robot vacuum cl... ->Used to have iRobot/Roomba. But after looking at a bunch of videos from the vacuum wars YouTube channel (extensive testing of all the brands), I went with Roborock. I’ve had the S7 for 2 years, and the S4 I gave to my MIL after upgrading (hers still works perfectly). It’s a fantastic machine! Mopping function is decent but not fully replacing manual mopping, just reduces how often I need to do it. Black Friday is coming up, so I’m sure there will be good deals.
BuyItForLife • Best self cleaning robot vacuum? ->I’m happy with the S7. The docking station of the newer models is a little too large, and adding that level of complexity raises concerns for me. Happy to see what happens in 5 years, as by then there might be some big improvements that are worth the upgrade. More likely, I’d consider looking into a dedicated robot mop if it gets great reviews.
BuyItForLife • Best self cleaning robot vacuum? ->I use it to run my roborock through specific rooms. If you double-tap the window shutter Button in the kitchen it cleans the kitchen. Really usefull.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->Same, I scheduled my runs in home assistant so I can tell it do to 1 pass of a non dirty room, and 2 passes of a dirtier room in the same run. Also tell it to run at night and then empty the dust bin in the morning when people have left the house.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I haven't had any issues. I have a baby gate and made a wood ramp that raises up and down about 1/2 inch and it works nearly perfect. Just took a $20 angle grinder to a couple of pieces of wood and sanded it and protected it.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I have two a Roborock S7 and an S8 ultra something with the dock. For vacuums I have been happy with both. The Roborock integration works well, but as others have said it does rely on their cloud to function. I stumbled on Valutido. The install process is harrowing and I've only done it on the S7, which required almost fully disassembly (only two extra screws). https://valetudo.cloud/ Its awesome. All the same featured but completely controlled locally. I'm working up the courage to try it on the S8.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->I've had the roborock for two years, only have replaced the brush and the mop as instructed, my girlfriend sheds hair like no tomorrow so I constantly have to clean it, otherwise it's great
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Seconding this. Been very happy with its HA integration, and has been a part of me fleshing out some automations that we use [to make sure we are on top of our chores](https://i.imgur.com/673QoKY.png). Also been happy with how well is cleans and mops.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Eufy is pretty good and great value for a robot that includes self cleaning mop. But I will say that the robot is a bit dumb in attempting to get over transitions between different height floors, compared to a Roborock S7 that I've used in the same space. My kitchen and bathroom tile was a centimeter higher than my hardwood floor in the hallway. My Eufy x10 would keep trying unsuccessfully to cross that threshold and eat up its entire battery. Sometimes the x10 will make it onto the higher tile, but then not realize it and navigate back off the tile. I've found that putting the robot into mopping mode helps it get over such floor transitions more easily. Or if I am in vacuum only mode, if I'm home I might give it a firm shove with my foot over the threshold. They contacted support asking for better programming to get over thresholds, but a half year later, I don't see any improvement. The robot needs to at least realize it can't cross the threshold and give up rather than keep trying... I have since moved to a renovated home with no such transitions between rooms, and the x10 is great.
RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum is everybody lookin... ->If all you care about is the vacuuming performance, the dyson robot vacuum is the best performer (especially against fine dust and deep carpets), If you want other commodities/features, then the roborock S7 is good. The s8 and newer units have more features but decreased vacuuming performance. I wouldn't get a roomba unless you value support/warranty the most, irobot vacuums aren't the best anymore but they do support their machines for a long time and support is better than what you will get with roborock/dreame/dyson. Regardless of what you choose, modern robot vacuums will do a good job.
malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly p... ->No it's not bad advice, vacuumwars tests are often not representative of real world scenarios and fail to mention some of the degradation modern releases have had over older robot vacuums. To be fair, on his review of the S8, he did mention the reduction in performance over the S7, however, he didn't showcase how bad it is compared to the old S7 (particularly against deep carpets and tiled floors). You can see what I mean on this channel: [https://youtu.be/VVnX3uhBiTQ](https://youtu.be/VVnX3uhBiTQ) , the owner uses multiple carpets of different density and materials, uses certified test dust along with other challenges that you'd expect robot vacuums to be able to deal with (tiled floors, hard floors, etc). You can find similar reviews on asian blog posts (chinese & japanese in particular), where roborock gets way more critiques for overhyping their products and reducing the quality of new releases while having zero after-sales support.
malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly p... ->Software wise, yes, manufacturers will purposely stop delivering software updates to older robot vacuums and ship them only to newer flagships. Hardware wise, I have had much better luck with my units, I bought my s7 when it was released and its still working fine with no obvious issues.
RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to ha... ->Currently using a Dyson animal 3, and a roborock qx Revo. And an s7 down stairs. Those battery stick ones from Amazon crapped out too fast.
VacuumCleaners • What's best vacuum for hardwood flo... ->Personally wasn't worth it for me, but we don't have wide open floors in our flat and it's a little cramped. Can imagine it's better if you do have those wider spaces but found it fairly average at hoovering even on the hardwood floors. Maybe others have better experiences than me but we sold ours fairly quickly after getting it For ref that was the Roborock 7
SiberianCats • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Ha... ->>I don't want to compromise; I want the best machine possible, and my budget is around $500 (Or a little more) Those two things are **very** firmly at odds with each other. Good quality vacuums with all of the functions you listed simply cost **much** more than $500 and you ain't going around that. >I've seen conflicting opinions about the superiority of the robots. Can you guys recommend? [Vacuum wars YouTube channel](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCvavJlMjlTd4wLwi9yKCtew) and website are a good starting point for looking how different vacuums stack up against each other. My personal piece of advice is that realistically how good vacuum is as well as parts availability over long term are critically important. More so than minor differences in HA integrations. Last but not least - pretty much only fully local option is to install Valetudo. Which is not really feasible for normal users. Valetudo also comes with a very strict list of supported vacuum models - typically a bit older and thus none of them have all the features you listed. At best they have basic auto-empty docks. Usually a good compromise is one of decently modern Roborock models. They generally are good and well supported vacuums hardware-wise. Their HA integration is also *mostly* local and works very well. Just be prepared that you'll either need to limit your requirements to something less high end *or* prepare to pay north of $1000. Most egregiously: mop drying feature is super recent and only available on handful of top models. EDIT: personally I have had Roborock S7 with no docking station for 2 years now. It's more than good enough for my small flat - I run it every 2-3 days. For my usage, its water tank is sufficient for a few runs - every time it runs out of water I also empty the dustbin and change the mopping pad (I have two on rotation and I toss the other one with dirty laundry after changing them out). Unless you have a large house to clean, there is not *that* much of a benefit to a base station with all of the bells and whistles.
homeassistant • For housekeeping, what are the best ... ->I’ve never had issues with constant pet hair and my wife’s long hair with our Roborock S7.
RobotVacuums • Is there a robot vacuum that doesn't ... ->The narwal freo z ultra and freo x ultra both have anti tangle brushes. In my 1+ months of using both of them, no hairs has ever got stuck in the brush or the axle. My wife has super long hair which always annoys me - gets stuck on the regular vacuums brush and the roborock s7 (axles, not on the rollers). But with the narwal, I never had to clean them once. Narwal does a pretty good job of vacuuming and mopping but the app isn't mature and the same goes for the robots themselves. They have some quirks - the mapping/ map updating kinda sucks sometimes and both the robots I had to re-map the house at least 2-3 times. Also, splitting rooms or modifications to the map also has some quirks that annoy me so much. I also had some concerns on privacy so I returned the freo z, still have the freo x, will use it for a bit and decide. The only thing holding me from returning the narwals was/is the anti tangle brush.
RobotVacuums • Is there a robot vacuum that doesn't ... ->We've had a roborock S7 for about 3 years give or take and it's still going strong albeit is beginning to fade. Only had to replace one part over that time for like $15. Needless to say it's exceeded my expectations. We use the regular roborock app so it's not integrated into HA for us.
homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Reco... ->10/10 Roborock from Xiaomi I’ve had the S5 for a few years now. I’ve been eying off the S7 and now S8, with their significantly upgraded docking system, but I just can’t fault the performance of the one I have and am waiting until it stops working to upgrade.
AusPropertyChat • Anyone here use robot vacuums? Rec... ->Same here. I don’t have room support and sounds like moving from the xaomi one to Roborock will bring that in? Be interested to know how you go, might try to migfsage st weekend
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I have a roborock s7 and it works well with home assistant.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I use the "roborock integration for homeassistant" integration found in hacs and haven't seen any disconnection issues.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I use the integration that's in hacs, it does have the ability to setup maps.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->Officially they state it can clime 2cm, I only have about 1/8" trim and it has no issues. It can't get into crevasses well but it does have a side brush that helps out as long as it can get in the corner.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->Not sure what the current going rate is on them but I would take a look at the amazon prime sale that's happening mid july
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->I have the same one. But I’ve integrated in early days with xiaomi integration. I’ve the map in home assistant with everything else. But I have to use the xiaomi home app, instead of the roborock one. I’m afraid to switch back (and loose maps and setting etc) Do you have map in HA with the roborock integration. Can you select and name rooms in the map so you can select them in HA? Thx
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->same here, but with the custom integration and xiaomi map extractor. S7, works as it should. I haven't opened the roborock app on my phone for a very long time. in the HA app i have custom buttons for specific room cleaning as well as physical zigbee buttons in the house for cleaning rooms or to send to a pinned location for emptying the bing.
homeassistant • What is the state of robot vacuums t... ->Hmm thats cool that everyone on here can afford the Eufy .. but my used roborock s7 works great for me. I had an irobot m6 and it was awful. Floor streaks and would get stuck on absolutely anything. Roborock is great all around brand for vacs or vac/mops
RobotVacuums • Can robot vacuums with mopping functi... ->I can only say positive things about my Roborock S7! Got it the day I bought my flat and it’s made my place always clean. Having a vacuum and a mop attachment is an absolute must if you have hard floors imo.
malelivingspace • Best Robot Vacuums most commonly p... ->I have a Roborock S7 that's still doing well after 3 years. I've had older model robots die after 2 years. But the lifespans seem to be improving. Another factor is that the technology keeps getting better fairly rapidly, so it's often tempting to upgrade after 2-3 years.
RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to ha... ->My roborock S4 is 8 years old and my S7 is 3 years old with over 3,000 hours of run time and still going fine. So no least not for Roborock brands but that's why you buy the best!
RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to ha... ->Not sure why so many upvotes. Had S5, S7, Q7 all above 3 years and battery is barely different from new. Maybe everyone in here live in castles I don’t know

homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->My Roborock S7 has been nearly flawless. I just fill / empty the tanks for it's weekly cleaning (mop & vac - carpet / hard floor) & it gives me perfect floors. Needs the occasional hairball detangle & rare maintenance item now & then, but it's easily one of my better investments. It will occasionally attempt to eat some stray things (clothing / small cords), but it's just a reminder to pick up before his cleaning day.
homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum for hom... ->Another vote for Roborock S7/S8. I can't believe how great it is thus far. Just dump the dirty water tank / fill the clean water tank & that's it! (& change vacuum bag periodically - wish they went bagless here)
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Not a single new Roborock until they fix their new brushing system, the cleaning quality have dropped alot since S6/7. Atm dream Ultra seems to be the best choice if you got the money.
RobotVacuums • Recommendations for a Vacuum/Mop for ... ->Roborock because of how it maps, you can edit the map, you can program how loud it is, and you can even get ones that have a mop attachment.
homeautomation • Does a Robot Vacuum Make a Difference? ->We've been running two roborock s4s since late covid. They worked so well. I picked up a s7 to add mopping. The difference in our house was stunning. Highest recommendation
homeautomation • Does a Robot Vacuum Make a Difference? ->You want a vac that auto empties. I use a Roborock S7. I haven't used another brand so it's not a comparison. Look up YouTube vacuum wars channel
homeautomation • Does a Robot Vacuum Make a Difference? ->I'm biased but I'd say anything Roborock with a full service dock (auto emptying plus mop washing). I had the S7 without dock for a year and barely ever mopped because it would involve me manually mounting the pad and removing it after it's finished (don't want to let a dirty and damp mop sit near my hardwood floor). So the USP for me really was mop washing. Had the S8 Pro Ultra for half a year now and it runs daily (mops twice a week). It really feels hands-off now!
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Roborock S7 probably qualifies. I’ve had one for ≈two years. No issues.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Indeed, have the S7 and the S8. No problems with them
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->same although mine is an s7. My wife absolutely loves the thing. It does a stellar job cleaning our hardwood floors. She used to literally mop our dark hardwood floors regularly and has completely stopped.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->Roborock has a good implementation into HA which I've used the past year. Maybe the Q Revo will be something for you? Or a top model like the Sxx versions. I just switched to the eufy x10 pro omni and I'm bummed that there are no working solutions for HA for this model yet :(. I have to use another app like a noob.
homeassistant • What's a good robot vacuum & mop combo? ->I’ve been running the Roborock QRevo Curv for 3 weeks after upgrading from a Roborock S7MaxV and it has been excellent. No hair tangling with the split dual brush. The only issue I’ve had is small objects (2-5cm) getting stuck and halting the cleaning cycle. I have young kids and a wife who crafts. We have an extraordinary amount of the small toys and charms everywhere. I’m sure more than 95% of the population lol, so most should be okay.
