One big issue that I haven't seen covered - dustbin *effectiveness.* A HUGE issue on my Q Revo Curv, in a household with dogs, is that the dustbin opening is small - that means that hair and dust has limited room to enter and all just bunches up near that hole, not spreading out throughout the bin. As a result, it gets clogged quickly and 3/4 of the dustbin's volume is wasted. The S8 Pro Ultra I upgraded from had a much wider opening and I never had these issues with it.
Have also owned roborocks since the S4. The only big downside is IF something does go wrong past their 1 year warranty youâre completely out of luck. Their in house repairs are prohibitively expensive (costs almost as much as a new vacuum). My dock broke for my S8 Pro Ultra at the 13 month mark and they advised me to buy a second hand one off eBay because they donât repair docks or sell dock replacements. Their service in the US is absolutely terrible. I ended up getting a new dock off of eBay for way too much money and Iâm hoping it lasts more than a year.
Pray you never have anything go wrong with it because their service is awful after the year of warranty is up. My S8 Pro ultra was a paperweight because the dock died exactly at 13 months. Ended up sourcing a second hand dock off eBay for way too much money.
I think the MaxV Ultra (not the Max) is one of the best vacuums Roborock ever made. I Liked the S8 Pro too, but the MaxV was better. But I'll tell you what, I think that J15 is a STEAL at that price and I liked it on carpet.
I feel like I just this conversation in another thread..... here's precisely what I said, same thing here. The Pro 8 was a great robot, but there have been LEAPS and bounds since then. I have the f25 as well, and I'm a big fan. (altho, honestly, the Narwal is even better) If you have pets, the issues are 2fold. First, you gotta get the hair off the floor. Once it gets up the floorboards, no robot can get it. To get it off the floor, you need sweeps that are really good. In my opinion, only a few companies are doing that. 3i and Eufy. One piddly sweep on the side isn't gonna cut it. You need two sweeps, and they need to have contact w the floor. Now unfortunately, the Eufy e25/28 that have this feature suck, IMO, for other reasons. 3i's are gigantic, move in opposite directions and are always in contact w the floor. They work exceptionally well. Part 2- you want a vacuum with a razor that cuts the hair. Again, only a few do this. Some Dreame models, Eureka's J15 line and 3i. Now, I'm a 3i stan. I think its spectacular, but its not for everyone... so you have to figure out what other priorities you have. Does the tower need to look nice? Dreame wins there. Do you have large debris or just dog hair? Large debris? Only 3i. More carpet than hard floor? Eureka. Usually, when people have pets, I steer them towards the best Eureka J15 they can afford. Most are quite happy. I have a short hair dog who sheds incessantly and drags in mulch from outside and general mud/dirt, and I love the 3i s10. I know lots of people with Dreame x40/x50/x60 that have pets and are happy. Anything in those product ranges will prob suit you well. ThW s8 line from roborock is great.
Mine is roborock s8 pro ultra - recommend
I have a roborock s8 pro ultra and its great. The integration works well and the vacuum does its job well. You do have to use the roborock app to set it up initially though which can be a dealbreaker for some people though. For me I dont really care as long as I can ditch the app after setup, which you can. >must be silent when it goes/comes back to clean a single room starting from the base I think you would be hard pressed to find that. Its a machine it isnt going to be silent. Its definitely quiet but not silent.
Yes it does. Itâs the most useful and amazing bit of home tech Iâve ever owned. 150sqm of tiles, rugs, a dog, 5 year old daughter and I only manual mop if thereâs been a spillage of something. Had a Roborock S8 pro ultra for a couple years and now a Dreame Matrix 10 - itâs another level.
I have the Matrix 10 (essentially the X50 with a different base station) and my parents have the X50. Both performing really well so far. I upgraded from a Roborock S8 Pro Max which I thought was excellent at the time but the tech has moved on very quickly. The Dreames are at another level vs the older Roborocks (I have no experience of the saros tho). The mopping is fab. I have 90% tiles and 10% carpet. The S8 would maintain things ok between manual mops, but the Dreame mops so effectively I havenât touched a mop since Xmas. Itâs actually replaced manual mopping rather than just supplementing it!! For your setup and that open plan layout, I think youâd be really pleased with the results. Do take a look at the Matrix 10 itâs got bigger water containers and a clever mop switching system for different rooms. In the UK itâs on Amazon at ÂŁ999.
