"significantly worse object avoidance than than the Dreame x40 and L40 ... The best feature of the L40/X40/p10 pro ultra is that they have class leading object avoidance so you don't have to pick up your cat's toys or prep your house every time you want to run the robot meaning you can run it on a daily schedule which will keep your house cleaner. ... I run my X40s daily and they never get stuck on cables, cat toys and other random junk that ends up on the floor."
"The X40 is so far ahead in the object avoidance realm that it's not even a contest. ... I have my Dreame X40 running at midnight every day and never have to worry about it getting stuck on something or caught on something because it's object avoidance works so well, even in the dark and on all surfaces. ... It stays clear of cat toys, cords, socks, paper towels and all sorts of random household junk. ... the fact that I can run the Dreame daily will keep my house cleaner."
"The obstacle avoidance is also very good and I only have the pet in house setting on for pet messes and it recognizes my fake dog poop all the time and drive around it."

"I absolutely do not regret buying the robot vacuum. ... My room is a lot cleaner and dust-free now, and I can tell just by wiping my floor with a wet toilet paper and seeing barely anything picked up. ... I've been getting allergens a ton less, most of which not even in my room. ... All this for the commitment of a weekly emptying is miles more convenient than vacuuming traditionally, as opposed to making a few taps on my phone. ... looking back it was definitely worth the investment."
"My cat has very bad mite allergies, and this vacuum is a must have for us for keeping the floors clean of all dust, dander, and dirt."
"The second floor of my house is all carpeted, and I used to clean with a Dyson V8, but since I got the E28, I haven't vacuumed myself."

"I have also had 0 hair wrap. Both my old Roomba and Shark id have to clean the rollers weekly."
"The Anti-Tangle brush is actually Anti-Tangle. All my previous vacuums would get hair tangled in a single run - I'd clean them at least once a week (neato way more) to get all the hair out. After 24 hours, I see 0 hair stuck. Not one. ... That being said I LOVE the anti-tangle brush. 3 Months and I haven't had to clean the brush one time. It's literally perfect for me."
"I haven’t had any issues with tangles on the rollers ... Honestly, I think it’s doing really well considering I have long hair and shed a lot. ... The split roller on the E28 really works."

"A good robovac is a life changer. Even a $350 basic S8. It is a great place to start. ... I promise you that you will not be disappointed by a basic S8. It will change your life even if it can't fit under every piece of furniture you own. ... My two S8s just finished vacuuming our entire house in about 46 minutes. ... While my floors were being cleaned, I sat comfortably on our patio in the cool shade with a slight breeze and composed my far too long response to you while sipping a diet soda and relaxing. ... I will have to spend about four minutes maintaining my two S8s. This will be my entire contribution to my home floor cleaning effort for today. Four minutes!"
"After walking them in rainy or muddy weather, having a robo mop take care of the mess is a real help. ... Without the robot we would need to spend a ton more time mopping. ... the convenienve of not needing to mop the house after you worked for a full day is worth it to us. ... So, 30 minutes for 7 days a week comes down to 3.5 hours of mopping saved. ... if it is rainy/muddy outside, they carry a lot of dirt into the house. ... the mopping robot makes a lot of sense and is a real help."
"I have ours set up through Home Assistant with our Litter Robot. 30 minutes after the Litter Robot signals that it has been used, our robovac automatically vacuums our laundry room where the Litter Robot is kept. It works great!"

"VibraRise works ... especially if you spray some floor cleaning solution on the mop before installing it, it works wonders!"
"The mop visibly rise up when it detects the carpet. ... I tested it on my low pile rug, didn't had the guts to check high pile carpet. Really good device. Would highly recommend"
"Serious multi-mode cleaning with active mop and lift for combined hard floor / carpet rooms starts with S8 or Q10 S5."

"The design of the dust bin is, simply put, bad. ... The dust bin volume can't be fully utilized by the robot, and dust and hair will start spilling out when the bin is at 60-70% full. ... This is because of the position of the air filter which is quite awkward. ... cleanup of large areas that get very dirty (dog owners especially), need to have their robot empty the dustbin every 25-35m² (270-380sqft), even with everyday cleaning schedules. ... The robot has a (I think) 220ml dust bin, but it will start overflowing into the brush compartment way before it fills this space. ... If you examine the contents of the dustbin when it starts overflowing, you will see a space of around 60ml being completely empty, and the robot seems to be unable to utilize it, due to the design of the airflow in the dustbin. ... This makes the QRevo Master dustbin's actual effective capacity quite underwhelming ... I guess this problem particularly affects users with a lot of fur in their houses. ... Fur sticks together quite well, and won't spread out in the bin on its own. It's also light enough to immediately start building up next to the filter. ... Being a pet owner is I think the number one reason to buy a robot vacuum, which should mean that the designers should really start thinking about how to solve this issues. ... Their lab tests probably involve rice, sand, and long human hair, but not the menacing dog hair that we predominantly find in our dustbins."

"And this even has a flawed design and cannot fill properly."

"The biggest downside to an S8 with an automated dock is the mechanism the dock uses to clean the mops. It is complicated and requires enough maintenance to keep it from filling up with gunk and debris until it clogs. Cleaning this mechanism is more difficult and time consuming than with models that use spinning mops."
"I will not recommend a fancier S8 because of the mechanism required by the docks to clean the mop. It is too complicated and requires too much maintenance. ... If good vacuuming ability sold robovacs, we would all be buying S7s and S8s. But their mop cleaning system is terrible and requires too much maintenance."
"Cleaning the dirty water tank was a pain on my Roborock and required weekly deep cleaning or it smelled horrible."

"The j7 got stuck often, maybe 1 out of 4 cleanings it either sucked up a cat toy or jammed itself under something."
"or the rollers don’t load up with hair and melt the CHM."
"I had many times where sonar audio devices flat out wouldn’t work properly and required a restart or reinstall to fix, and I got tired of it."

"below average mopping ... The mop itself just doesn’t do well with only vibrating plus it dragged on the carpets."
"All of the newer models with auto detangling rollers perform much, much worse on carpets. ... Part of it is the auto detangling rollers. They do auto detangle hair really well. But they do not kick up debris nearly as well as the older style solid rubber single and double rollers, especially on rugs and carpets."
"But it has problems climbing on high carpets (2cm). ... So I can't use it in my living room. ... The robots needs many attempts to get on the carpet, which is necessary to get to the other side of the room."

"horrifically expensive"
"price of replacement parts is a huge reason i recommend sebo vacuums. ... every time i have to look up a part for a miele vacuum i already know it ’s going to cost 3x-4x what it should."
"The robot vacuum companies get you on the replacement parts, which are not cheap."
I have a roborock S8 - it does an ok job - valetudo is not supported yet as roborock have gone to lengths to prevent it using different encryption keys on the bootloader, I guess they want your data and need it connected to their cloud. Maybe this is because it has two cameras on it. The dust bin is small so if you have carpets it fills up quickly with fibres. The option for auto emptying dock is very expensive The solution is to vacuum more often than you would normally then it doesn't fill up so fast. If you are privacy focussed and want valetudo look at what is supported and recommended by those folks
r/homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Robot Vacuum Mop today? ->Thirding roborock. Love mine. I splurged on the self emptying model….totally worth it.
r/CleaningTips • Which robot vacuum is really GOOD at handling PET HAIR? ->I've had my S8+ (basestation with just dustbin, no water tank) for almost 2 years. And I'm very happy. It cleans twice a week and still going strong. I paid about €1000. I bet the MaxV is even better! Only thing I can complain about is the battery have deteriorated a bit tho, so it struggles with 2h cleaning sessions at max power. Edit: I do regular maintenance and exchange parts as needed. And I regularly clean the robo and filter as well.
r/Roborock • I’ve found the S8 MaxV Ultra for 700 EUR - Good Deal? ->Can anyone share their experience with the obstacle avoidance of the Q10 S5+? How does it handle cables and small items like socks? I previously had the S8 and it did a pretty good job with avoiding obstacles and generally was a great robot, I decided to upgrade to a model with an empty station and wondering if I should I go with the Q10 S5+ which is more budget friendly (and has the smallest station I saw) or maybe invest in the pricier s8+
r/Roborock • My first robot: the elusive Q10 S5 ->Lmao these numbers i bought an s8 refurbished with 20 hrs usage for 200 and it changed my life
r/Roborock • Should I drop $1800 on a robot vacuum or go cheaper? ->Thats awesome news for me owning a S8+ haha. Another question I have is how the edge kicked down the Curv to 5th spot in rankings, isn't it identical robot and spec wise just different design of the dock? Btw I love your videos!
r/RobotVacuums • I Was Wrong About Robot Vacuum Mops and What I'm Doing About It ->It's definitely an upgrade to the standard dragging a wet cloth. Flagship Saros 10 is using vibrarise too but its a bit more updated and has more vibration and downward pressure. Not sure how big of a difference in terms of performance it is compared to the S8. If you can find S8 for a good price then I think you wont be disappointed I also think when choosing between rotating and Vibration mops its about preference and what type of floor you have. The rotating mops are using more water I believe and could have a tendency to leave wet streaks on floors
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->ThW s8 line from roborock is great.
r/RobotVacuums • Every Prime Day Robovac and Recommendations ->Get a Roborock, I recommended mine (S7 or S8) to my friend with 3 dogs and 1 cat and it keeps their floors so nice. It (no exaggeration) saved her sanity. It’s pricey, but it actually works and works well. You have to keep the base station maintained but it’s so simple to clean.
r/CleaningTips • Robot vacuum VS dog hair… battle to the death 💀 ->Unfortunately what you want is a niche product… vacuum/mop combos are what is in right now and beyond that, Roborock isn’t the best at that level obstacle avoidance either. With all that said, take the time to research the type of OA you’re looking for. Like full camera (best - but comes with privacy concerns if you care), there are other types too but they typically are worst. With all that said, I own an s8+ (not max v) and have found it to be pretty solid and reasonable priced. It has a mop feature but it’s not a “dual spinning”, etc… but still does an okay job and I’m okay with that.
r/Roborock • All I want is a kick ass VACUUM ONLY robot with the best object detection, why can't you make this? ->Also have an s8 with vibrarise. I’ve read that the super “in” dual rotating mops aren’t proven to be better than vibrarise. What I will say is that I think mops on robot vacuums are still a “maintainer/extender” feature than a true mop up stains type of feature. If you manually mop, the s8 will make it so you have to do it less often. It’s not a replacement for that first initial manual mop. Besides that, I’ve enjoyed the s8 as it was an upgrade from my original s4. Obstacle avoidance is pretty good, although, I’m just used to tidying up before running it now a days.
r/Roborock • Is the VibraRise System of the S8 worth it? ->I have a 9 month old so everything you said applies to me… I will say I haven’t checked on the ramp thing but the s8+ I bought last year works very well. It goes over the mats. The reason I bought it was because I wanted better than obstacle avoidance. I was coming from an S4 (not max) which had none. This does a good job, is self empty and does mop too. The mop is a vibrating mop bit the spin type of a revo. This doesn’t bother me as robot mopping still isn’t great no matter what you get, until you’re shelling out $1500+. Even then, I don’t think mopping tech has “matured yet”. I ultimately would just recommend a robot vacuum that has good obstacle avoidance as you just don’t want it to get stuck places since you’re spending time with your kiddo and not worrying about cleaning/picking up as much
r/Roborock • Baby gates and play mats ->I have the Roborock 8 and it's vacuuming since two years two times a day and it still works like a charm
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->I replace regularly the filter and once the brush, but these are maintenance parts
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->I changed it two times right now
r/BuyItForLife • Best Robot Vacuum Cleaner for Home in 2025 ->I just replaced them, because I got them for free buying the vacuum ^^ Now I just wash it with water. I don't notice any performance loss. I just do it to take care of it.
