For a list of every single prime day deal, [go here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1ljl8wd/prime_day_deals/). These are not the cheapest robots in each band, these are my recommendations based on the final Prime Day prices. Some prices do not fall off embargo until 7/8 (Prime Day) so you may not see them until then. I will be incredibly busy during Prime Week, so may not be able to answer comments. I haven't tested every vacuum on the market, but I've tested a lot of them. Not offended if you have a differing opinion and voice that, my opinions are based on real world testing in my home, which I write about on Lifehacker. The links below will be affiliate links, you don't have to use them, but it is appreciated. # Best vacuum under $100 Controversial opinion, but I don't believe there is a best under $100. Infact, robots worth the investment under $700 are rare, as I explain in [this post.](https://www.whatrobotvacuumshouldiget.com/2025/06/20/are-budget-robot-vacuums-worth-buying/) So these robots should be viewed as tech toys you're playing around with, rather than cleaning tools that will make your life easier. Buy whatever strikes your fancy, it's unlikely to be useful as a robovac, but might be a worthy cat toy. # Best vacuum under $300 People just don't talk about the Switchbots enough in here, and I wish I knew why. Aside from having a kick ass brand identity (chonky robots that bridge a technology gap for people), they are affordable and work better than most tech products out there. I'm a huge fan of their smart home sensors and the SwitchBot button. When I got the [K10+](https://lifehacker.com/tech/switchbot-k10-plus-robot-vacuum-review) to test about 18 months ago, I was just tickled. First, it's tiny. It's like an M&M roaming your floor. At 8 inches, it cuts a tight radius around your chair legs, and can get into tiny spaces. There's no advanced tech on here, it just does a bangup job vacuuming, and then returning to its humbly small self emptying dock. Sure, there is a "mop", kinda sorta... but its just a swiffer situation, and it sucks. Ignore it (easy to do). This is a vacuum, and can more confidently manage carpet (under your bed, too!) better than most I've tried. Sure, you'll have to unclog it occasionally, but that's what you get at this price. The pro took the suction from 2500Pa to 3000Pa, which doesn't seem like much, but I can go on for hours on a nerdy rant about how much suction doesn't really matter. Whichever you get, this is the bot to beat at this price. The only interesting nugget about the 3i when I agreed to test it was that it promised to never need a water refill. i'd just finished testing the narwal Freo Z, which has to be topped up a few times a day and an autonomous robot sounded fantastic. You shouldn't like the 3i. It looks like an exhibit in a kids science museum. It weighs like 50lbs, and there is nothing notable about the robot itself. it looks like a generic robovac. I was so blown away by the performance, I haven't shut up about it since. In the history of my testing, i have kept 3 robovacs, and this is one of them. I just place new robots I'm testing in front of it, because I'm not moving that Gdamn tower for anything, it lives there now. Theres the design: these 2 forward sweeps rotate inward, and have constant downward pressure on the floor. They're huge, and very effective. The roller doesn't get clogged. Let me repeat. I let it vacuum up dog toy floof. Mulch. Receipts. NOTHING deterred this robot. And the mop was very effective, too. Was it the best mop I've tested? No. But it ranks up there. And the water cleaning actually works, I know because for a week, we had it mop up anything we could think of. Vinegar. Black dye water. Maple syrup. Tomato juice. And not only was the resulting clean water tank crystal clear, I used PH strips to test it, and it remained stable. It just metabolized anything we ran it over. It's been a few months and I've never had to refill the water, not once. It's finally an autonomous robot, and for that, it'd be worth it at $1899. But for $1139, I don't need to think about whether its better to spend less on a high end Roborock, the 3i is cheaper. |3i S10 Ultra|$1899.99|$1139.99 w code: S10USAVE5|40%|[https://amzn.to/3GsRZlm](https://amzn.to/3GsRZlm)| |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-| # Best vacuum if you have no budget Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you have thresholds The good news, since many of you are trying to decide between the Saros 10/10r and the Dreame X50 Ultra, is that I can make it easy. Get the Dreame X50. You won't like the reason I recommend it, though. It's simple: the Roborock Saros 10 is not, for reasons I don't get, on Prime Day special, only the 10R is. While the 10 and 10r are [supposed](https://lifehacker.com/tech/roborock-saros-10-vs-saros-10r-robot-vacuum-comparison) to have very similar builds with a lifting chassis, they don't act like it. The 10 is a better robot than the X50, so if you can afford it, buy it. If not, the X50 is a fine robot. Genuinely. And I never got tired of watching it yeet itself over thresholds and steps. The AI onboard helped the robot get better over time at navigation, and if anything, my only complaint is that it had to return to dock all the time to top up or recharge, so cleaning a whole house took a long time to get done. Worth mentioning: I recently tested the Mova P50 Ultra, and while I thought the robot wasn't worth the price (by a lot), it did delight me in how it sailed over thresholds but also turned sideways to actively clean the threshold itself (but don't buy it, the build sucks). |Roborock Saros 10|$1599.99|$1599.99|0|[https://amzn.to/40xGAHO](https://amzn.to/40xGAHO)| |:-|:-|:-|:-|:-| |Dreame X50 Ultra|$1699.99|1199.99|29%|[https://amzn.to/3GrCzhm](https://amzn.to/3GrCzhm)| |Roborock Saros 10R|$1,599.99|1,279.99|20%|[https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W](https://amzn.to/4lFxi4W)| # Best vacuum for pets Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you don't want a mop Embargo'd til 7/7 # Best vacuum if you don't want an auto-emptying tower This is absurd, you should want the tower, or there's almost no point in getting a robovac to begin with. Autonomy is the point. But, if you absolutely, totally insist, (and the Switchbot K10+ tower isn't small enough for you, because that sucker will fit anywhere), I very reluctantly offer the Roborock Q10 S5. The 10 isn't going to go on sale, tho.... only the 10R. Now, I still think the 10 is a great vacuum, so don't be deterred. Honestly, I didn't think one was dramatically better than the other on carpet. Where I saw a difference was mopping and navigation. I prefer the vibrating mop on the 10, for sure. Don't get the deebot. If you do get the 10, here's an affiliate link to amazon, if you feel inclined. I just tested and reviewed this one and gave it 3 out of 5 Stars. I was very unimpressed. Although I'm not done with my testing of the z70, it is not ready for prime time. The x50 was good, And I think that would be a fine purchase. I also highly recommend the saros 10r and 10. But... I was alone out of the water with the 3i S10 and no one talks about it.
I'm surprised how much I actually enjoy these threads. So I'm going to kill two of yours and reintroduce one. I don't think those are the right q revos to look at... If anything I'd say the max V. But I can make it easy because if you can afford the robots that you're talking about I think it comes down to four models. The s8 maxv ultra which shakes out to be the best of the S8 line. The curv, which is also excellent, but slightly different from the s8. Saros 10 Saros 10r Do you have thresholds? If so, get the 10. Do you have a lot of obstacles on your floor? Like a fan and lamps and furniture and other crap small spaces that the robot needs to go into? If so, get a 10r, even if you have thresholds. You don't have thresholds or small spaces, I would consider the S8 or curv, because they're excellent, and dramatically cheaper. And excepting the issue with thresholds, I'm not highly sold that the Saros are $700 better. And the best part is, there is no wrong answer. The main differentiator is the shape of the tower and that the curv has twin spinning mops and the s8 has a vibrating mop pad. Because you have ceramic tile, and I do too, that means you have grime. For that reason I recommend the s8. I believe the vibrating pad does better on grind
Hi. I review robots for a living. That store link was super helpful. My advice is simple: get a roborock. I think the S8 Maxv Ultra is a fantastic model, around $1000. The Saros 10/10R are also there, and also great. Personally, i prefer a mop pad, so I'd say the 10, not the 10R. The prices are close enough that I'd say the Saros might be worth these few $$. I don't enjoy either model you named...the Mova has cheap hardware, and the X9 was incredibly Meh in performance.
I can make it easy. Get the Roborock. The 10 works better.
So I have to explain my perspective on suction. Suction is good, more suction is certainly better, but people make suction the determining factor of whether they buy a vacuum when I have seen vacuums with 22, 000pa That don't do a great job. I'm more determining factor is how three parts of the robot interact. You have the sweeps which have to effectively get the debris towards the rollers. Then you have the rollers which have to sweep the debris that's in its path up but not allow the debris to get stuck, clogging the rollers. If they do their job right then the debris is perfectly positioned for the suction to pull it through into the debris canister inside. I could get really nerdy and talk about the size of the opening on the debris canister, And also how straight the tube is in the tower that evacuates the debris from the robot, but everyone would die of boredom. So, back to your question. Yes, the saros 10 has plenty of suction. But more importantly, those three parts play really well together. I love that split roller on the saros... It ensures that not a lot of debris gets clogged in the rollers. I think the new roborock sweep which just has those two arms is fine, I definitely preferred the 3i sweeps (there are two of them, they're so large that they are cartoonish looking, and they always have contact with the floor). But every single model of vacuum is different, because they're just too many factors at play. For instance, the eufy e25 and e28 should be fantastic. They've got the double sweeps that make contact with the floor. They have a split roller design. They have high suction. And yet the robot blows because the software sucks and it errors out all the time. It's why it's hard to judge a vacuum based on the stats alone.
There are two models that do this well. The Saros 10 and the X50. There are distinct differences between the two that will help you decide, since in terms of climbing, they're about the same. 1. The x50 has to return to base often to recharge/empty, more so than the Saros. It would take a whole day to get a 2000sqft home (these are champagne problems, but...) 2. You've got a real difference of cleaning techniques. The X50 has two spinning mop pads, the Saros has a vibrating mop pad. Now, I prefer a mop pad, gets more grime out. But... it can't extend beyond the robot, so the twin pads get close to walls, get under toe kicks, etc. 3. While they share the same features for the most part, the app experience on Roborock is preferable, IMO. Less adverts, etc. 4. Navigation wise, VERY comparable. In either case, wait for Prime Day.
Hey. I have textured white tile. It makes me INSANE, because grime settled into the pitted areas of the tile. Here's my advice, after testing 50 or so robots. It makes sense that the best results would be from the spinning mop pads, but they're the least effective. For reasons I am unable to explain, the vibrating mod pad seems to be the most effective, far better than roller mops. The vibrating does the best job, and some newer models like Saros 10/10R have the lifting chassis that seems to be a good job of putting downward pressure on the mop. That all said... its unrealistic to expect that the robot, any robot, will get grime off your tiles. The best you should hope for is that manual scrubbing will do that, and a robot can maintain it (more or less).
no. I'd go w the Saros. [Here](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lr2zgt/comment/n1vhrkz/?context=3) are my recommendations on what to buy.
These models are SO discounted for PD, I wouldn't wait. Get the 10.
CONGRATULATIONS. your life will immediately get better. The X50 and the Saros 10 are the best choices of what you mentioned. Here's why: [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lu7dbu/every\_prime\_day\_robovac\_and\_recommendations/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1lu7dbu/every_prime_day_robovac_and_recommendations/)
Between the two, no question, the Flow is better (I tested both). Still, neither beats the 3i S10 Ultra, and I think they're both on par with the Saros 10/10r. I know everyone wants roller mops to be the end all be all, but so far, they're good, but didn't blow my mind.
Hey. I've listed every [single price](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nvsulx/every_robovac_on_sale_for_amazon_big_deal_days/) for the Big Deal Days sale, and my recommendations [per price band](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nzbtex/big_deal_day_recommendations_by_price_band_these/). However, I'm getting the same questions over and over, so here's some additional context. # Best Robot for Long Hair (human or pet) Hair is the foil of all robot vacuums. It doesn't just wrap around the rollers, it also gets wrapped around the sweeps and the wheels, and while it doesn't hurt the robot, it will make it less effective, and require you to clean it more often. This isn't a problem with short haired pets (they have a different problem). Yes, having high suction is important, but it doesn't always translate to getting more debris up. In the case of long hair, nothing beats a razor cutter on the robot, and the only line that has one that I recommend is the Eureka J15 line. I like this line a lot for other reasons, too, but if you've got a long hair problem, this is the answer. There are J15s at a number of price points. [Eureka J15 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4gUYACY) [Eureka J15 Evo Ultra](https://amzn.to/42tMbQF) [Eureka J15 Max Ultra](https://amzn.to/46UkK3x) # Best Robot for Short Haired Pets Now, you have a different problem, which is sticky hair. Short hair sticks to the floor, it climbs the walls, and you need a sweep that will effectively get it off the ground and move it toward the roller, where the vacuum can capture it. The sweep plays a critical role here, and the sweeps that are most effective are large, in constant contact w the ground, and move in opposite directions. Eufy e25/e28 have the right design for this, but I don't recommend them for other reasons. The models that I've found that do this best are the 3i G10, P10 and S10. I love these models for other reasons, but those sweeps seal the deal for me on short hair. It's just a bonus that they are also the only models that can suck up cat litter without clogging. [3i G10+](https://amzn.to/48znS7N) [3i P10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4h1Sy3y) [3i S10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o7hKIe) # Best Robot for Carpet If you've got a whole house of carpet, I like the Dreame X50, Dreame L40, Eureka J15 Ultra, and Switchbot K11+. That's not to say other robots suck at vacuuming, they don't. But I like these models specifically on carpet, and if you've just got one room with carpet, consider getting the K11+ for that room alone. Its cheap and great at navigating under beds, etc. [Dreame X50 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4h77Wfa) [Dreame L40 Ultra](https://amzn.to/48Rswhk) [Eureka J15 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4gUYACY) [SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://amzn.to/4mOxq1O) # Best Robot for LVP Lots of people have LVP and want something specialized for it. In truth, there's nothing special about it. A robot good at hard floors will work for LVP. There aren't really robots that leave a lot of water behind anymore. # Best Robot for Area Rugs This is not a model specific problem, its a rug problem. Rugs have to be well anchored to the ground (a grip pad isn't going to cut it forever), and the lower the profile, the better. Think Ruggables. If a rug starts to roll up on an end, the robot is going to have trouble. If a rug has fringe, its a bad match for a robot. Even bathroom rugs are rough for robots. All that said, a robot with a lifting chassis is going to have an easier time getting onto a rug. Think X50, Saros 10/10r, CurvX. [Dreame X50 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4h77Wfa) [Roborock Qrevo CurvX](https://amzn.to/48PvS4j) [Saros 10/10r](https://amzn.to/4nyiwy5) # Best Robot for Small Spaces Get a Switchbot K11+. That is all. It's a vacuum only, but costs next to nothing, and is shockingly full of premium features. It also is a effective vacuum, getting into places no other robot can because of its size. [SwitchBot Robot Vacuum K11+](https://amzn.to/4mOxq1O) # Best Robot for Corners This doesn't exist. No robot is great at corners. In fact, most robots aren't great at the "edges" of rooms, they're mostly good at the main open area of a room. You have to let this go. The best you can do is get a robot with extending sweeps/brushes. A lot of robots have these now, and they're one of the best features. # Best Robot if You're Hellbent on a Roller Mop Everyone in this Reddit forum is convinced rollers are the end all/be all of mops. I disagree. They're fine. But if you're just absolutely determined to get one, get the Flow. Eufy's e25/e28 models were riddled with errors, and Dreame's roller mop leaks and streaks. The Flow was easily the best of the bunch. [Narwal Flow](https://amzn.to/3IxMoLX) # Best Robot for People with ADHD Also, my favorite robot. The point of a robot, for me, is autonomy. I want it to do the damn job, with as little required of me as possible. Otherwise, I might as well do the job myself. While most robots do help, they also require upkeep and new, consistent input. Change the water, change the filter, unclog it, find it where it got stuck on a cord, etc. And then, I tried the 3i S10, which i had zero expectations of, because I'd never heard of the brand. This is the robot to get if you're overwhelmed and just want the job done. It vacuums EVERYTHING without clogging. Does it silently. It mops well, and both makes its own water and sanitizes the water it recycles so you never have to change the water. It's got downsides: its effing HUGE and heavy. It looks like an exhibit at a science museum. Its expensive, and some people say it smells musty (it makes water via a dehumidifier, so that makes sense). But readers, I would marry mine. [3i S10 Ultra](https://amzn.to/4o7hKIe) \------------------------------- For some context, I [write about robovacs](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1l48fms/i_write_about_robot_vacuums_for_a_living_ama/) both for an online pub and my own site. I shared similar information and advice for [Prime Day](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1ljl8wd/prime_day_deals/), and people were generally pretty [happy](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1m0sjou/amanda_amanda_amanda_the_dreame_l40_is_amazing/) w the recommendations from the feedback. Feel free to ask questions. These are affiliate links, I had mod permission.
I don't think anything compares to the S10. Honestly, I don't. A robot you don't have to change the water on? That sucks up giant debris? it's currently 800$ off, so compared to other $1000 robots, its not even close. BUT.... I still think their P10 is a good deal as well. its down to $46. i also really like the J15 lineup, and the Saros 10/10r. Lots of them are great robots, I just think this one is really different.
Do me a favor. see what the S8 MaxV Ultra is running right now.
that's accurate, FWIW. The 10 is a a clear successor to the S8 line and the 10R is closer to the QRevo line. Generally, i think the Saros 10 is worth a few hundred bucks more than the s8 maxv ultra, but not like, 700 more, which is what it usually is.
getting ONTO the rug is the problem, not the rug itself. Avoiding it isn't a big deal.... all robots will do that. No robot is going to accidentally mop your rug, those days are long past. but.. if that rug isn't well anchored? the edges will curl and the robot could even get caught on the threads of the rug if its long enough shag. So... option 1: avoid it entirely. That's... any decent robot. In which case, just choose from my recommendations based on price. option 2: get a robot with a lifting chassis. That's the X9, Saros 10 or Saros 10r. of them, Though not technically a "step", getting onto the rug will benefit from a chassis that can raise itself onto a higher platform. Here's all the models for sale starting Tuesday. [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nvsulx/every\_robovac\_on\_sale\_for\_amazon\_big\_deal\_days/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1nvsulx/every_robovac_on_sale_for_amazon_big_deal_days/)
At that price point, this weekend, you can get a premium model. Yes, there are still some compromises- often models are better at one thing than another. But most are good enough at both, I think getting 2 bots isn't the solution. But also, you need to know... roombas, even the new line, are just terrible. Go with another brand. Heres a list of every single model on sale: [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p2d4qy/every\_black\_friday\_deal\_on\_robovacs/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p2d4qy/every_black_friday_deal_on_robovacs/) And what I'd recommend at those price points, including the band you're talking about. [https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p7ihnr/im\_a\_robot\_reporter\_heres\_my\_black\_friday/](https://www.reddit.com/r/RobotVacuums/comments/1p7ihnr/im_a_robot_reporter_heres_my_black_friday/) There are really four models there. The Flow, 3i S10 Ultra, the X50 and the Saros 10/10r. I wouldn't consider others. Tell me about your floor.
there are only 2. [Roborock Saros 10](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/3QN77VNVN022D?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aip_sf_list_spv_s_ons_mixed_d_3GVYP91HJC73QH3A2XK1)/10r and [Dreame X50 ultra](https://www.amazon.com/shop/amandablumstiktok/list/1H34OZE61D1JV?ref_=cm_sw_r_cp_ud_aipsflist_34VHK3G8D2127CHKQD4K_1). But in a year, that won't be true anymore.
How far away does it land? Are we talking a foot or it could be anywhere. I dont think this is an object recognition issue. You need a "no go zone" around the pee pads, end of problem. Most robots have such good poop recognition now that they avoid too many objects, but this is the best way to deal w your problem, honestly. I wouldn't do the Saros 10, I'd grab the S8 Max Ultra, which went on sale today. The Saros is an incremental improvement over the S8, so if its not comfortably affordable, downshift to the S8.
I have textured white tile. And a doggie door. And a big dog and I live someplace where it rains 300 days a year. Oh, and I test robots for a living. With few exceptions, roborock is the brand that I recommend. I'm kind of an outlier though because if you ask me based on my real world, testing in my home experience, you're not going to do better on textured tile than a vibrating mop pad. No rollers, no spinning mops. The vibration works well to get some grime out. If you can afford it, the S8 maxv ultra is the one I would recommend, and if you can grab it before the prime sale is gone, I would go for the saros 10... But once the sale is over, I don't think the 10 is worth it. It's an incremental improvement over the S8 and it's worth a couple hundred bucks. But I don't think it's worth 700 bucks.
ok, now I'm questioning myself, but i don't THINK i have.... (there was a lull in reviews for Lifehacker so a few robots went through that didn't get reviews, but I don't think that was one of them).
I have enough faith that its worth testing. I believe the Saros 10 (not 10r) might be able to. The height isn't the issue, its that its not really a step. There's a drop on the other side, too.
i watched it happen in my house over and over again. I wrote about it!
There is no perfect robovac.... but... I like the robots with split rollers, like the Roborock Saros line. These also have a removable tray, and I think the hardware is solid. But in reality, almost all premium robovacs and even the midtiers have these features (removable trays, etc).
I would go for the [Saros 10](https://amzn.to/3F4P8P1) or 10r Reasons: - Eufy is great but lesser capacity batter, tank etc wise than Roborocks, so if you are a heavy user like me you ll have to empty things relatively early and also auto drain after full will take more energy if the number of times it needs to auto empty increase due to lower tank etc capacity. - Roborock has a better app - Roborock spare parts are a lot more easily available than Eufy which makes maintenance a breeze.. I just replace them than clean or detangle to save time As you would have felt I am a power user due to 2 very sheddy dogs that also get dirt from the garden, there are some things to consider - Saros especially there have been few cases where they had to replace to get a new one early on due to some malfunction.. bigger and more things the machine can do the chances of this happening increases.. I did not face this and have been using for around 6 months now. Basically make sure you have a way to return it get replacement incase a part is faulty etc and I power used it on first few days just to be sure
So I have 2 dogs, both shed a lot and get a lot of mud from our yard and generally where I live is quite rainy so all after the rain the dogs do get the floor dirty Because of this I absolutely needed a mop and of course vaccum for hair and carpet as well. I agree; roborock Qrevo series is pretty good; https://amzn.to/4dDP1a1 By the time I clean them after their mud fiasco the roborock is able to mop off mud and wet dirt off the floor. I can also just clean a small area that has dirt and get the robovac to the dock again and all this with the app which is super helpful. I also block some high wire areas in the app so I am guessing you can do so for your carpet if needed. I prefer it's self cleaning as it helps me use the mop or vacuum twice a day if needed too and then I just empty it out when full. Generally I am a heavy user and with that I empty the dock station every 3 days. Another reason why I choose Roborock for my main area is because with dogs, sometimes you need to replace parts ( is m too lazy to untangle if need be) so I just replace the parts and many companies make Roborock parts and are cheap so thats a plus. Again I bought this 1.5 years back, and they have Qrevo Curv[curv](https://amzn.to/43aaORB) and [Saro](https://amzn.to/3F4P8P1)s launched too which might be a good upgrade I have also used EUFY l60: https://amzn.to/4kfWGgN for my top floors but the dogs don't come there often but there is enough hair in the house to be picked up and the L60 works fine there which is vaccum only.
I have my eye on Saros 10[Saros 10](https://amzn.to/4kk3UQX) as an upgrade for my existing Roborock. Great app, good cleaning and easy maintenance as the parts are quite easily available. Have been using Roborock for over 5 years so either Qrevo Curv[Qrevo Curv](https://amzn.to/4jBzdGh) or [Saros 10](https://amzn.to/4kk3UQX) is what I will be eyeing
Roborock Saros XR cleans up the scatter around my two LR3s. This is good living! Robots taking care of robots.
We've had an extremely good experience with the Roborock Saros since last November. In our 740 sqft house so far we've only had it working on the ground floor, and the cleaning has been a blessing ever since. I highly recommend it. What's your current budget?
My wife and I bought ours [here](https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Saros-10-Aspiradora-Inteligente/dp/B0DLH247PS?crid=TQAP47GLY82J&dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.6U8nbj3nTRqgaUYMyn_bMQwLm54z_HlQeUPLPQ3GlwD5cDDkgDsbkb5EFby6FkDfr8CL_FwKMUY8UO71CMtdK8h2H3qRM-MBvlPGdBgnHOilddQfU_i5RtzY4Q6vZvM1ih_peXMcw6r74yr5y6M1mhkBCDBDMYZCXwZfnQQWWqSI4IyKRVYTB2znfjDoUOSmpmQGCz2gC0mEaebzdSY9fbY0YNzveI_49Mw1eB5LkNE.HWcdCjPlaCnL9ZaIsRsFSCsD0aN6EmO0uYRIR8YB1GQ&dib_tag=se&keywords=roborock%2Bsaros%2B10r&qid=1770508797&sprefix=saros%2Caps%2C259&sr=8-2-spons&sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&th=1&linkCode=ll2&tag=topekapro27-20&linkId=e4d1c1aaec40f981276134fa1596758c&language=es_US&ref_=as_li_ss_tl) after about two months of research. We decided on this model, and something that helped us make our decision were the reviews and opinions of people who already owned it. You can see these opinions there and find out if this robovac is right for you. Good luck, I think it's currently on sale or something.
Last November I bought a Roborock Saros and it's been a dream come true at home, hands down and 100% recommended
The Saros 10 R, this one: [saros ](https://amzn.to/49IU0o5) it'll be two months with us soon. We don't have that much experience, but this model has been a blessing for the house
I'd wait for the saros 20, at home we already have the saros r10 doing wonders around the floors and, don't get me wrong we're more than happy with its performance, but at this point I'm looking for another robovac for the second floor and, like you, I'm doing some research. Then I found out about this roborock model, and I talked to my wife, and I think we're going to wait until we could see revs and opinions about it..
We don't know much about it; we only bought our first robotvac last November, it was the roborock Saros, and we're doing this new search to complement it and have a good cleaning in the second floor of our house, so we're looking for something that's super functional but not too fancy or high-end. Thank you for your information and for sharing your knowledge with me.
For this case the Roborock Saros is the perfect solution. We got one last year due to a similar problema with our golden retriever who sheds tones of hair on daily based, since we bought this model we hardly see any hair on the corners at all. I highly recommend it.
Looking for a privacy-focused robo-vac in Singapore – why I ended up with the Roborock Qrevo 798 (QR 798) Posting this in case it helps anyone else in SG who cares about both cleaning performance and not having a roaming surveillance camera at home. **Disclaimer: Wrote this with AI cos lazy to consolidate and manually write but fact checked it and essence is there** # What I was optimising for Hard considerations: * Has no RGB / AI camera hardware at all (no pet snaps, live video, or “home patrol”). * Avoids a built-in mic / voice assistant as much as possible * Decent performance - (sorry Matic and Eufy) * Not too outdated - lots of older models have less sensors but then lack performance or need to be imported as refurbished Good to have: * Handles long hair without turning the brush into a bird’s nest (for the girlies out there) * Has official SG support and at least some evidence that the vendor takes security seriously. # Why I didn’t want a camera robot Recent security work on camera-equipped vacuums has been pretty ugly: * At DEF CON 32, Dennis Giese and Braelynn Luedtke showed that multiple Ecovacs Deebot and related robots can be taken over via Bluetooth from \~130 m away; once in, an attacker can turn on the camera and microphone and use the robot as a surveillance device. [Cyber Security News+3dontvacuum.me+3TechCrunch+3](https://dontvacuum.me/talks/DEFCON32/DEFCON32_reveng_hacking_ecovacs_robots.pdf?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Reports and follow-ups (TechCrunch, Kaspersky, etc.) highlight that a lot of Ecovacs models with cameras/mics are affected, and that the same Bluetooth/PIN flaws can be abused across a big chunk of their lineup. [TechCrunch+2Kaspersky+2](https://techcrunch.com/2024/08/09/ecovacs-home-robots-can-be-hacked-to-spy-on-their-owners-researchers-say/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Earlier talks by the same researcher showed how camera-equipped robots from Roborock and Dreame expose /dev/video\* devices and vendor camera tools; in some cases, the “camera in use” voice alert can be suppressed just by replacing the audio prompt file, so you can have silent live view. [dontvacuum.me](https://dontvacuum.me/talks/DEFCON31/DEFCON31-vacuum-robots-final.pdf) On top of that, regulators in Korea recently found that some Chinese camera bots (Dreame, Narwal, Ecovacs) can leak stored images or allow forced camera activation via weak or missing authentication in their apps and cloud services. [Meta Connects+4Digital Policy Alert+4MK News+4](https://digitalpolicyalert.org/event/33215-internet-and-security-agency-and-consumer-agency-released-security-assessment-findings-from-investigation-into-cybersecurity-vulnerabilities-of-robot-vacuum-cleaners?utm_source=chatgpt.com) So my baseline was: no RGB camera at all if I can avoid it. # Why Roborock felt “less bad” than some others Every vendor has issues, including Roborock. I’m not pretending they’re perfect, just that they looked relatively better: * Giese’s DEF CON 31 slides show Roborock reacting to earlier research by locking down U-Boot, enabling Secure Boot, SELinux, dm-verity, and using LUKS encryption for user/application partitions with keys in TrustZone; plus ELF signature checks for binaries. [dontvacuum.me](https://dontvacuum.me/talks/DEFCON31/DEFCON31-vacuum-robots-final.pdf) * The same deck shows an email from the Roborock CEO saying their engineers watched the talk and were fixing the vulnerabilities, and newer flagships like the S8 Pro Ultra ship with Secure Boot, dm-verity, LUKS, SELinux, etc. [dontvacuum.me](https://dontvacuum.me/talks/DEFCON31/DEFCON31-vacuum-robots-final.pdf) * Korea Consumer Agency + KISA tested six camera robots (Samsung, LG, Narwal, Dreame, Roborock S9 MaxV Ultra, Ecovacs X8 Pro Omni). Samsung and LG scored best overall; Narwal/Dreame/Ecovacs had the worst camera- and image-related issues; Roborock’s main hit was weak password policy, not remote camera abuse. [MK News+4Digital Policy Alert+4MK News+4](https://digitalpolicyalert.org/event/33215-internet-and-security-agency-and-consumer-agency-released-security-assessment-findings-from-investigation-into-cybersecurity-vulnerabilities-of-robot-vacuum-cleaners?utm_source=chatgpt.com) So Roborock is still hackable if you really try, but they’ve clearly been pushed by researchers and regulators, and they’re not in the “we’ll happily leak your house photos” bucket that some Ecovacs / Dreame / Narwal models fell into. # Models I skipped Roborock S8 Pro Ultra / Saros 10 / Saros 10R * The S8 Pro Ultra has two cameras plus LiDAR and line lasers, and supports remote live view. [dontvacuum.me+2Roborock Singapore+2](https://dontvacuum.me/talks/DEFCON31/DEFCON31-vacuum-robots-final.pdf) * The Saros series (Z70 / 10 / 10R) heavily markets “home monitoring” with remote viewing from the Roborock app. [BIKMAN TECH+1](https://bikmantech.com/blogs/blogs/roborock-s8-maxv-ultra-top-10-q-a?srsltid=AfmBOopQ7MpPl8HkAHPYP_q7xIzKcW_S8p84wcwHxIQfSvontLE1sNDF&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Great cleaners, but fundamentally still network-connected IP cameras on wheels, which is exactly what I’m trying to avoid. Roborock Qrevo Curv 2 (Flow / Pro / 5A1) * Roborock explicitly says the Curv 2 Flow uses structured light + an RGB camera for “Reactive AI Obstacle Recognition” and that it recognises 200+ object types. [Roborock Singapore Official Site](https://sg.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-curv-2-flow) * They do have TÜV ETSI EN 303 645 certification and say the camera is off by default, but it’s still a cloud-connected camera with AI processing. [Roborock Singapore Official Site](https://sg.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-curv-2-flow) * Again, not what I want in a vacuum. Ecovacs / Dreame / “AI Vision / MaxV” type bots * Many of these are sold around their forward cameras + AI obstacle recognition + pet snapshots + remote viewing. * Between DEF CON 32 (Ecovacs camera/mic takeover) and the Korean regulator findings (forced camera activation, cloud-stored images accessible without strong auth), I’m not comfortable putting another one of these on my network right now. [MK News+4TechCrunch+4nextpit+4](https://techcrunch.com/2024/08/09/ecovacs-home-robots-can-be-hacked-to-spy-on-their-owners-researchers-say/?utm_source=chatgpt.com) Random budget LiDAR-only bots * There are cheaper LiDAR bots without cameras, but digging around it’s much harder to find any serious security analysis, and long-term parts/firmware support is a big shrug. That’s a different kind of risk I didn’t want. # Why I landed on the Roborock Qrevo 798 (QR 798 / “Qrevo L”) The QR 798 sold in SG is essentially the Qrevo L platform under a local model code. From Roborock’s SG and global pages plus retailer listings: [Roborock Malaysia Official Site+4Roborock Official Australia+4Roborock Store ANZ+4](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * No RGB camera * Navigation is PreciSense LiDAR + structured-light obstacle sensing, not an RGB camera module. There’s no live-view / home-monitoring feature exposed in the app, unlike Saros or Curv 2. [Roborock Official Australia+2Roborock Store ANZ+2](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * No obvious “smart speaker” behaviour * It plays voice prompts, but there’s no built-in always-listening voice assistant or advertised two-way talk / video call on this model. Voice control is via external assistants (Alexa/Google), so any mic that exists isn’t being sold as a home-monitoring feature in the way the MaxV/Saros lines are. (I still treat it as untrusted IoT and segment it on my network.) * Spec-wise it’s solid * Rated 10,000 Pa suction with HyperForce motor. [Roborock Official Australia+2Roborock Store ANZ+2](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * All-rubber main brush and anti-tangle side brush; Roborock markets this range specifically on handling hair with certified low tangling in their internal tests. [Roborock Official Australia+1](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Dual spinning mops with lift so it can handle hard floors and low-pile carpets without soaking everything. [Roborock Official Australia+1](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Dock & convenience * The dock does auto dust emptying, mop washing, warm-air drying, and clean-water refills using removable tanks – no fixed inlet/outlet plumbing. [Roborock Official Australia+2Roborock Store ANZ+2](https://au.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-l?srsltid=AfmBOopchF29zQLu0Ed4oimS2orzeh8zQT7Ha_1RDm8Y4vI0_9eWjFNt&utm_source=chatgpt.com) * Local support * It’s an official Roborock Singapore model with local warranty and service channels listed on their SG site and Shopee/Lazada flagship stores. [Roborock Singapore Official Site+2Roborock Singapore Official Site+2](https://sg.roborock.com/pages/roborock-qrevo-curv-2-flow) Put together: it’s LiDAR + structured light, no RGB camera, no remote viewing mode, decent security posture for a mass-market bot, and still a high-end cleaner. # TL;DR If you’re in Singapore and you: * want no RGB camera on your robot, * still care a lot about cleaning performance and full auto dock, * and don’t want to mess with rooting / Valetudo right now, then the Roborock Qrevo 798 (QR 798 / Qrevo L) was the least-bad compromise I could find. If anyone has found other camera-free, LiDAR-only bots with third-party security scrutiny and decent long-term support, let me know below
I went with the Saros Qrevo 117 Max xyz and it leaves huge piles of crap everywhere, after it goes in circles for 7 hours, so might need to rethink my next one. Asssuming I can get a 3rd mortgage. Or a swiffer for 17 bucks.
Get the Roborock QR 798 or Q10 PF/VF or its + variant if you want an automatic empty station included. I'm in Southeast Asia, too! I have had a Q7 TF (similar to Q10 without a vibrating mop and obstacle avoidance) for three weeks, and I love it. I mainly use it to clean hard floors and low-pile rugs. - Q10 has two versions PF (lifting mop) and VF (vibrating mop similar to S8 Max and Saros 10). The + variants included the auto-empty station. - QR 798 is similar to QRevo S but slightly cheaper at least in my country 🇮🇩 - Xiaomi X20+ quite similar to Dreame L10 series and cheaper than QR 798 and L10 (in 🇮🇩). It already has obstacle avoidance features, but unlike Roborock Q7TF and Q10 PF/VF, it doesn't have an anti-hair tangle feature. - Xiaomi X 20 Max - Dreame L10s Ultra gen 2 All these robots use structured light sensors for obstacle avoidance. Unlike the AI camera sensor, it performs less than the latter. Structured light performs worse in detecting very small objects or objects on a high pile and carpet with complex patterns.
Well, Roborock with Adaptilift would do the job (Qrevo Edge/Curve and Saros 10/10r) or Dreame X50 Ultra and Mova V50 Ultra. Most robot vacuums can climb up to 2cm, but that's the maximum limit, so you better choose the above models. Btw, I love your room layout. It looks very pleasant to my eyes.
For Roborock, choose their model with a DuoDivide brush for the anti-tangle feature. It comprises several models: - Qrevo S5A/S5V (cheaper) - Qrevo Edge - Qrevo Curv - Saros 10 - Saros 10R (expensive flagship) S5A/S5V only have structured light-based obstacle avoidance sensors. The rest uses a combination of structured light and an AI RGB camera, which should perform better in detecting pet surprises. Only Saros 10 uses a vibrating mop pad while the rest uses a spinning-style mop. The mopping result differs between a vibrating mop and a spinning mop, but it depends on your house environment. People here reported different results between them.
Roborock’s Duo Divide has been a game changer for me
For me it was the DuoDivide’s anti tangling feature. I’ve never had to clean the brushes on any of my units with this brush design and I run all of them every day
Currently im using the roborock qrevo curv, saros 10 and 10r
Roborock Saros 10 has been really fast and efficient in my experience. But all this depends on how complex your house is. The more furniture and less open space you have in your house is going to affect how fast it can vacuum and mop.
Saros 10 owner, it’s gentle and I love it. You can adjust the obstacle avoidance sensitivity as well and it gets even gentler. I even put silicone tape on my unit’s bumper so it stays new lol. You can do the same if your furniture is that fragile and don’t want any risk of damage.
You will not get the exact same features on the Qrevo Curv. If price does not matter, wait for the Curv 2 Flow or Curv 2 Pro. If you’re not waiting, get the Saros 10, not 10R.
Great question, and that depends on how well the Curv 2 Flow’s roller mop performs and how well its dock can clean it. If it has lower water usage or larger water tanks in the dock, that would help cancel out some of the high maintenance. No Qrevo model to date has ever had a detergent refill tank and it doesn’t look like the Curv 2 Flow or Pro will have it either. I personally really like the automatic detergent refill, but if this is not important to you, then I would disregard this in your selection criteria. I just want to point this out because not having the automatic detergent refill tank is not always a con. This is because you get to choose how much detergent to use instead of the app controlling that for you. The Roborock app DOES let Saros users control the detergent amount, but it’s listed vaguely and does not tell you the exact concentration in metrics. I bought the 10 and 10R and I noticed that the 10R required more maintenance. You have to clean the sensors more often or the navigation and obstacle avoidance starts becoming less reliable. The 10R also uses 2 spinning mop disks which means when it edge mops, there will be a gap between the 2 mop disks so not everything will be cleaned in the first pass. The spinning also causes the mop pads to wear out more quickly compared to the 10’s Vibrarise mop. The 10 is also quieter and I find the 10’s dirt bin filter to be larger than the 10R’s. The dock is also easier to maintain because you only need to clean a filter and the spinning brush while as the 10R’s dock makes you take out the entire mop cleaning wash board for cleaning. Edit: forgot to mention that the Curv’s vacuum bag is also placed differently to the vacuum port on the dock so it’s not going to be a space efficient and might need replacing sooner compared to the Saros’ docks.
Get the Saros 10, the Mova and Narwal have too many maintenance issues
Curv, Saros 10 & 10R, SwitchBot S10 & K11+, and Dreame X40 owner. I like the detergent dispenser. I don’t have to add detergent to the water tank each time and it’s much more convenient since I mop and vacuum 2x a day so I change the tanks every 3-4 days. If you use a disinfecting floor detergent like I do, there won’t be a nasty smell on the dirty water tanks. Most of the reviews are going to be in Chinese because the Curv 2 Pro isn’t in most of the western part of the world yet. Not having a detergent dispenser isn’t a deal breaker; I just want larger water tanks so I don’t have to change it so often. 4L is too small, I’d be fine with a much larger dock if it means larger water tanks
