There is no perfect robovac.... but... I like the robots with split rollers, like the Roborock Saros line. These also have a removable tray, and I think the hardware is solid. But in reality, almost all premium robovacs and even the midtiers have these features (removable trays, etc).

I also have the mopping Roborock and love it. We have 1 dog and 12 foster cats so daily sweeping and mopping is a necessity. It won’t save op money though I think it was $700. As long as the toys are picked up the only issue it occasionally has is with my really long hair getting wrapped around the rollers.

How tall is the piece of transition? For a single one up to 30mm, the roborock models with the AdaptiLift chassis (the most expensive QRevo Curv/Edge and the Saros line). Anything higher up to 4.2cm, if a threshold is less than 9cm long (5.2cm if it is at least 9cm long), will need the Dreame X50 Ultra or any equivalent MOVA model (V50 Ultra). I am aware that Dreame's L/X50 Ultra and any model (such as MOVA's V50 Ultra or the rare UK-only Dreame L40s Pro Ultra) that uses dual conical brushes has a *live fur compression* feature (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOOU0uJsVdU), which helps mitigate the issue of pet fur clogging the dustbin, even though the space isn't fully utilized. I saw it in action, and I think it lives up to its claim. It also cleans its filter when auto-emptying. This should be helpful for homes with heavy shedders such as yours\~ For paw prints, I think a robot that can identify messes like this and act accordingly would be important too. Dreame and Narwal do well with this if you turn on certain functions, such as their smart cleaning mode and intelligent mess detection.

This is definitely not exclusive on the ecovacs X9 pro omni. Ecovacs is late to this feature. Models that can do this well: Dreame’s L/X40 Ultra and newer (assuming there’s an RGB camera), Narwal Freo Z Ultra; Roborock Saros series and CurvX, MOVA P10 Pro Ultra, P50 Pro Ultra, Z50 Ultra, V50 Ultra

Most high end robot vacuums have learned to avoid this area with some models marking it as “furniture likely to get stuck on”. If the chairs’ horizontal legs are shorter than 3cm, both the roborock models with Adaptlift and the Dreame X50 Ultra/MOVA V50 Ultra will lift themselves to get over it. If higher than 3cm, only the dreame X50 Ultra and the MOVA V50 Ultra can cross it.

I’d look at robots that can stop vacuuming, lift the main and side brush and just mop when they detect a liquid spill. The Dreame Aqua 10 Pro Track and the MOVA Z50 Ultra will be the closest robot to a steam mop as they use roller mops. There’s also the Narwal flow but no word on its release yet. Alternatively, there are robots with spinning mops that can do this after recognizing a liquid mess like Dreame’s L/X40 ultra and newer; roborock Saros models and the Curv X; the MOVA P10 Ultra/Pro Ultra, the P50 Ultra/Pro Ultra, and the V50 Ultra; and Narwal’s freo Z Ultra. Out of all of them, I’d recommend the MOVA V50 Ultra as it can mop with detergent and choose if it uses a pet odor neutralizing detergent when cleaning up after your dog or a regular one for general maintenance. Other roller mop models like the eufy S1 Pro, the eufy E25/E28, and the ecovacs X8 and X9 cannot mop up liquid spills without the vacuuming brushes smearing it.

The roborock models with Adaptlift can only cross a single threshold up to 3cm and a tiered threshold up to 4cm (3cm + 1cm). Only dreame and MOVA’s robots with their threshold climbing features (ProLeap and StepMaster) can cross higher single thresholds.

Looks like a solid flagship. The Saros 20 is the one with spinning mops and the Saros 20 sonic is the one with the vibrating flat mop which can wash the mop when it’s left behind at the base station while the robot cleans. There’s an improved threshold climbing wheel similar to Dreame’s ProLeap but it can go backwards which should mean less bumps when it gets onto the higher threshold or level. There’s also dustbag drying (a feature I love). I hope it does well :)

In alphabetical order: Dreame’s robots with the ProLeap system (too many to list), Eufy’s S2, MOVA’s robots with the StepMaster system (V50, Z60 Ultra Roller Complete, Mobius 60, V70), Narwal’s flow, and Roborock’s model with the Adaptlift chassis should comfortably cross an inch

Curv, Edge and Saros, all models with AdaptiLift can stretch their legs to go over long pile without getting stuck. But don't expect them do do any good vacuuming while being raised.

weird how many non-technical folks parrot nonsense. latest vacuums from roborock removed lidars (check roborock saros) which made them smaller and I guess cheaper

Trust me you don’t need to drop $1800 on a robot vacuum. Any decent flagship Roborock will do, S8s or one of the higher end Q Revos. Saros is great but again you don’t really need them. Would avoid the other ones.

That seems to be a problem with Dreame. I have only seen the Matter integration of Roborock which allows room cleaning. Roborock Saros series seems to support also maps in Matter.

They are pretty similar in cleaning, the differences are: Saros got: -cleaning solution tank + self dosing -can leave the mops in the station -side brush can be tucked away -far better obstacle avoidance -less hight other things are pretty similar, if you don‘t need these functions, curv will be the better deal, I would ignore dust bin size if u run it daily, you can also just set the self empty setting to high, then it will go empty the bin a few times while doing a cleaning run
