"The big thing for me is the app and the map. Once it learns the house you can send it to just individual rooms to clean which is a lifesaver with small kids as rarely are all the floors clean at once. ... I send the robot and it’s amazing."
"I love the mapping function because I can keep it out of certain areas depending on how good I was at preparing the house."
"strongly recommend one with room mapping technology."

I have 4 SHARK (model series 25??+ and 2650) I am impressed with their performance they are rebuilt units for under $200.00 and have been in service for several years. I would have prefered separate mop and vacuum units, however I did not want that many robots in my house I have 2 homes.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vacuum right now? ->FYI they have a refurb shark on sale today for $100 [https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1](https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1)
r/gadgets • iRobot’s future isn’t looking up ->Woot's got a shark on sale today for $100, it sweeps and mops and self empties. [https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1](https://www.woot.com/offers/shark-matrix-plus-2-in-1-robot-vacuum-mop-1)
r/gadgets • iRobot’s future isn’t looking up ->We have the Shark Matrix Plus 2-in-1 (vacuums and mops). The vacuum does well with all the fur from one Pyr and 3 cats. We mostly use it on hard floors so I can’t speak to its effectiveness on carpet. The brush roll rarely gets tangled and the self emptying feature is great. The waste reservoir doesn’t require a bag which is a huge money saver. Many of the self-emptying models require a bag which is an added expense every time you need to empty the bin (which will be often - I empty our bin at least once a week). The mop feature is ok. It’s decent for a quick touch up but certainly won’t scrub caked on dirt or dog drool. The app is fairly rudimentary compared to some of the other manufacturers. Overall we’re happy with it for our use case.
r/greatpyrenees • To Pyrenees owners, what are the best robot vacuums you'd choose for pet hair at home? ->After some research and balancing feature vs cost, we ended up purchasing the Shark Matrix Plus 2 in 1 with a bagless self emptying bin. It's a budget robo vac but had some really nice features. We don't have carpet, so that wasn't a feature we were looking for. However, they do state it works on low pile carpet. It has 3 power settings. We only use it in eco. Can't speak to the effectiveness of the more powerful options. But, even on eco, it picks up everything. We have a Golden Retriever that sheds like no ones business and tracks in a lot of dirt. It also mops. You have to insert the mop pad and fill the water reservoir manually, but that's not an issue as we do that once a week. Some times 2x. My favorite feature is how well it vacuums corners. As it moves along the wall, there's a stream of air that pushes debris towards the rollers. It's really good at avoiding objects and moves in straight lines instead of random. It has a HEPA filter in the bin and holds quite a bit.
r/RobotVacuums • Best Robot Vacuum and Mop to Buy with Good Suction? ->Shark Matrix 2 in 1 is a budget friendly option. We refill the tank every day and replace the mop pad (machine washable), so only takes a couple of minutes of maintenance a day. And it maps the house so you can tell it to only clean certain rooms if you want and has an app/scheduling
r/RobotVacuums • Overwhelmed mom need vacuum +mop under $500 ->I have the Shark Matrix 2 in 1, and am quite happy with it. I dont know how it compares to others though....
r/RobotVacuums • Are there any "good" robot vacuums? ->I have a shark matrix mop & vac. It’s okay, I didn’t get the self emptying one so I have to empty it daily with 2 high shedding dogs, the water reservoir has to be refilled almost daily as well and I only have it going in 3 rooms. I will say I’ve had it almost 15 months now and it ignores my no go zones, sometimes starts at random times and I haven’t found a way to update its software. I’ll definitely get something different next time, but I did enjoy it while it functioned properly.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I've got 3 sharks atm (one for each floor), and 1 broke down after 3 years, another has some battery draining issue but otherwise works (1.5 years), and the third is a refurbished one and has zero issues. Not 100% sure id go for a shark again, but if I got a new one I'd go for a higher priced one. In this price range I think it's pretty good. Just annoying to find parts/fix.
r/RobotVacuums • Need advice on which vacuum to keep my ->I recently got the Shark Matrix Plus at Costco for about 300. It vacuums, mops, avoids rugs, and mapping was really easy. I absolutely love it. Some people do say it’s loud, but we have 5 cats, 4 dogs, and 3 kids, so noise isn’t even really noticeable. This thing has our floors looking better than ever, and it has cut our daily cleaning and Sunday chores down drastically. It looks like I deep clean the house every day. Highly recommend it.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vac/mop combo ->Adding to the Shark love. Had a Eufy and when it kicked the bucket after a couple years, we wanted a better replacement. We have the Shark Matrix Plus with the self empty base, which allows it to go a lot longer without needing human intervention. The thing leaves the pretty lines on our carpets and is just darn effective, I adore it so much.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums currently that you've tried and found really effective for daily cleaning? ->The shark will likely navigate and localise itself better thanks to it's lidar navigation. It will bump into walls softer than the roomba will. However the j5+ will avoid unexpected obstacles on the ground like shoes, cords etc. better. The j5 mopping isn't thorough as there isn't any spinning or agitation, but it's better than nothing. The j5 will also likely last long, unlike many bots that have been suggested by others here
r/RobotVacuums • Need advice on which vacuum to keep my ->I got the shark matrix with the self empty base without the mop. Works great and no issues with the app so far, I also like that It has Google home integration. I paid $200 at Costco, not sure I would pay much more than that. I would look into the refurbished ones I think they get down to like $150
r/RobotVacuums • Advice needed - not interested in mopping ->I paid $298, which was on rollback at Walmart from $500 for my shark two and one matrix and I love it
r/RobotVacuums • Best affordable sweeping and mopping robot? ->Well listen I love mine there are a lot of different models and maybe I have a good one I don't know but I love it and the price is right
r/RobotVacuums • Best affordable sweeping and mopping robot? ->I have all hard floors, so yes.
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->I'm sorry.I thought this was in the thread where I already had. Shark matrix two and one. There are like twenty different varieties under that same heading. I do not know how to tell you how to tell the difference between the models. 😞
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->People on here complain about the kind I have but I think it is great for the price, and i'm unwilling to pay more. It's a shark matrix two and one. And my personal opinion, it does all the important things well. It maps well, so it doesn't miss spots, it has object avoidance, so it will gently bump into furniture or whatever, but not harm it. It doesn't mop as well as I could, but running it daily solves that problem. Running it daily, my floors are immaculate. I can walk around barefoot or in socks. I have all hard floors, so I can't say how it does have carpet. It empties itself in vacuum only mode, but that doesn't really do me any good because i'm always having it mop also. I don't mind changing out the mop pat myself, emptying the vacuum part of the two and one, and refilling the reservoir. I mean, sure if I were well off, i would get a 1200 one to save me from bending, over and dealing with all that, but for the price point I don't mind at all. I can't tell you how much I love it. I have a condition that makes mopping entirely too painful.
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->Yuck. I got a shark two in one for 298 on sale from five hundred. Worth every penny. It doesn't miss anywhere, and it has object avoidance
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->I have a far lower budget. I have a shark matrix two and one, there are many varieties, mine was at the five hundred mark starting off, on sale for $298. It empties itself when it's in vacuum only mode, which doesn't do me any good because i'm always having to mop since I also have LVP. I am happy with it, but I see a lot of complaints here about it. Since your budget is higher, you can get a better one!
r/RobotVacuums • New to robot vac ->I have the same one and I agree
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->Same here. I have a Dyson animal that I use once a week. I run the self emptying shark matrix the days I don’t use the Dyson. I don’t have carpet though and that seems to help. When we had carpet it required more effort on my part.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->I have a shark matrix right now it does a good enough job
r/homeassistant • What are the best robot vacuums for those who're struggling with lots of PET HAIR? ->I use a Shark Matrix. It self empties and has a lot of features for its price point. It uses both bumpers and LiDAR to navigate around and vacuums up GSD and Lab fur really well.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->I like our Shark Matrix. Low cost (relatively), no mop, no bags (empties into a removable plastic bin), and the app is decent. Have been running for a few months and it’s good. We have a dog also (medium hair length). Picks up the hair really well. The claim of 30-days before emptying is BS, as that’s based on a non pet hair household. I auto run it 3 times a week and empty maybe 1-2 times a week. Once every other week it will get stuck, but for the most part it handles the terrain and the thresholds, and jumps onto an area rug well. We also have some new rugs, so they are “shedding” a lot, which makes me empty more often. I think I got it for about $279 around the holidays, but have seen them lately in the low $300’s on Amazon.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->That’s crazy. I’d hate that too. How old is it / what model. I’ve never had anything like that happen. I have had it stop because the roller needs clearing, which I now clean about once a week.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->I would offer a couple of things. We have a medium length hairy dog. It’s whey we got a robovac, tbh. We got a shark matrix (not selling you this one, just commenting on features I think are important to understand). We’ve had one a few months and it’s a life changer, imho. Two features I’d look for in any vac are rollers that won’t tangle because they have some advanced feature of some sort, and a self emptying bin, not a bag, a bin. I didn’t realize what an advantage the bin would be, and lucked into this feature, because I wasn’t purposely shopping for it. Maybe bags last long and compact the do hair, idk. Our “30 day bin” has a little dirt and is full of a hair ball in a week. I’d ask folks with dogs how long bags last. I’d want to make sure they aren’t ripping through them at a cost you aren’t expecting. Other than that, I love having a robovac, no more hairballs floating all around the house. Enjoy.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->Have had the Shark Matrix for a year now. Works fine. App is not the best, but the bot vacuums and mops the floor pretty well.
r/RobotVacuums • Costco currently has two robot vacuums with mopping on sale. I’ve never owned a robot vacuum but we have all hard woods with rugs in our house as well as two dogs. Any thoughts on these two at Costco? ->It is difficult to find what you need at your price point. You need a mop, good object avoidance and hair pickup due to the pets. So you kind of have to sacrifice in one area. Increase the price or reduce a feature or two. You could do without the object avoidance if you don't run a schedule and check the floors for objects every time you run the robot. Shark matrix is an old version. If you buy a Shark brand, it's mainly for being bagless. Bags are a way for these companies to hide the price of the robot, since you have to keep buying bags at $5 each. I would recommend RV2820YE if you go for shark brand due to it being the cheapest option with no bags, good object avoidance and a mop but it's a little more than what you wanted to spend. I've had a shark for a few years and it works well but I do have to clear the floors for it before running. I'm getting a AV2820S for $400 because it has better object avoidance but doesn't have the complication of a mop, the odor cartridges or the added cost of bags. You probably need a mop though. Irobot J7+ doesn't have a mop so it would leave behind mud from dogs but it has the best object detection, so it won't hit poop. That won't matter if you check your floors before running it. The Euphy L60 doesn't have a mop and the version that does, doesn't work very well unless you get the $800 version. Roborock Qrevo S is on sale now for $460 on Amazon and that's what I would get if I were you. It has good reviews, dual spinning mops, self empty base and object avoidance (though not the best). I don't like that it uses bags that run up the cost over time but maybe the cheaper off brand bags work okay? https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Qrevo-Self-Drying-Self-Emptying-Refilling/dp/B0CTZXJTGJ?tag=vwads3-20&th=1
r/RobotVacuums • Advice on first robot vacuum please! ->It seems the general consensus from all the aggregate data here is this: Don’t get Roomba or Shark (wish I’d found this sub before buying my Shark Matrix) they’re the market leaders and lean heavily on brand recognition so they’re very feature poor compared to the competition. Roborock seems to be the far and away most recommended if you’re willing to spend the money. They aren’t cheap but seem to have the best software. It does seem that universally the hardware is good enough these days. There’s not tons of meaningful competition on that side and it’s all the software side of things. The budget market has a less clear winner but going with one of the Asian brands is still the way to go.
r/RobotVacuums • This Subreddit doesn’t help in finding your best fit. ->Roomba 105 said “docking? never heard of her.” If nav + no-go zones matter, go Roborock Q5 for laser brain, pet-hair beast. Shark Matrix is better than old Shark, but still a bit lost sometimes. Just pick the smart one.
r/RobotVacuums • Affordable lidar vac that docks on carpet? ->The best robots I've had so far are the Roborock Qrevo Curv and Qrevo Curvx that I use on a daily basis. Roborock is just consistently good and they are my default brand now. The curvx got off to a rough start that required a reset and two remaps but it finally got it together. I had a Dreame X50 Ultra that died on day two and a Aqua10 Ultra Roller that was beyond terrible with tons of issues and their support was horrid so I won't be inclined to try them again. I had a eufy x10 omni pro and it was okay until it wasn't and right after that I tried a Samsung Bespoke jet bot ai and it went crazy on its first cleaning run and died in the hallway. I also had a shark matrix and it was okay until it went crazy spinning against the couch in the living room.
r/RobotVacuums • Are there any "good" robot vacuums? ->I have a shark matrix that has been chugging along and doing a good job! Sometimes I need to remap the room when we loose power for extended periods and the vacuum dies.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Lasts? ->My Roborock quervo that I got two weeks ago has been incredible. We had a shark matrix because it didn’t have bags, but made a compromise to upgrade. It is like watching a Zamboni drive across the floor when it is mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • Best self emptying robot vacuum? ->We have the shark matrix and love it! Many cats and it keeps up! Much less than you're willing to spend at target. Edit for grammar
r/RobotVacuums • Trying to get a good robot vacuum for Mother’s Day ->Shark Matrix from Costco. We’ve had it for more than a year and so far it’s been doing all right. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a reliable vacuum.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->I have a Shark Matrix (~$300) and love it! I was skeptical at first but it works so well with getting up dog hair and sand/dirt. It's very low maintenance too.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->My Shark Matrix has them also and it's a game changer. I would find myself cutting massive tangles of cat hairs out of my Roomba's roller brush every couple of days!
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->Another vote here for the shark matrix. We have 4 cats and it makes a major difference at a small price
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->We have a shark matrix and really love it, though the app is a bit…unfriendly. Definitely recommend looking for one with self emptying, I have friends with a roomba that doesn’t have self emptying and they mention it every time they see ours 😂
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->We have a shark matrix (no mop) and while we’ve had some issues (mostly with their app) we are generally pretty happy with it. It’s our first Robo vac and we don’t have dogs or carpet so maybe our expectations are pretty mild, given the complains I see about them!
r/RobotVacuums • Costco currently has two robot vacuums with mopping on sale. I’ve never owned a robot vacuum but we have all hard woods with rugs in our house as well as two dogs. Any thoughts on these two at Costco? ->I have laminate flooring with low pile area rugs and use a Shark Matrix robot vacuum. I did a lot of research before buying it because I have long hair and it gets everywhere. LOL. (Seriously. I've had trouble with upright vacuum cleaners in the past.) I also have 2 low-shedding dogs. I bought the vacuum from Costco specifically because of their return policy. I'm really happy with it. I think it would work well with golden retriever hair, but I don't know about cat hair. In my experience, cat hair is very fine, especially the undercoat. One very important thing you should know is that most (if not all) robot vacuums have problems with objects on the floor. Every time I use the vacuum, I have to pick up all of the dog toys, their water bowl, their dog beds, any shoes that I've left on the floor, etc. I don't know how old your kids are, but you'll have problems if they leave things on the floor.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I have a dog and two cats. We have a shark matrix and a roomba. Both vacuums work really well on hard surfaces, which is mostly what we have. Neither does great on carpet or rugs, but if we run the robots once day, we can get away with only vacuuming the rugs once a week to once a month. They work much better for maintenance than for deep cleaning.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I LOVE my Shark Matrix. I have both the regular one and the mopping combo.
r/RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum is everybody looking to buy Black Friday? ->We have the Shark Matrix and it does a good job in vaccuming. Only con I have with it is that they don't allow multi floor mapping.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->My parents gave me a Shark Matrix for Christmas, and all I could get it to do was spot clean by putting it where I wanted. Though that might have been user error.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for robot vacuums that don't need wifi ->We have a roomba j7 and shark matrix. The roomba is "smarter" but the shark is more adventurous. They both do alright. We have a lab/golden mix dog and a cat.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->What about a Shark Matrix? They self empty and hold a lot of dirt and do a good job cleaning. I have the Shark AI (which is $279 on amazon) and I love it. Dustbin is big and no bag required, super easy to dump. It has a few filters that you need to find and clean, but I really like that too. It's got some HEPA stuff. It works hard and doesn't freak out too often; the app is pretty solid.
r/RobotVacuums • Suggestions for robot vacuum? ->I have 2 shark matrix with emptying bases and a husky. I want to upgrade later to have one that mops too but this works great for now. My older shark needs a clean of the brushes once a week for the extra fur it catches. I have lpv throughout the house, except bedrooms, and the robots run daily.
r/workingmoms • The best ROBOT VACUUM for pet hair? What are you using/happy with? ->Recently purchased the Shark Matrix and love it. I have 3 dogs that shed like crazy and it’s been working wonders vs the Roomba I previously had. Would’ve got a Roborock but unfortunately the funds weren’t there. The Shark app is super easy to navigate, too. My house is 95% hard wood and it does not get stuck.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->I have the matrix shark and like it. The app is really not that bad although can’t see the robot moving around the map with the matrix version. I can set no-go zones.
r/RobotVacuums • Advice needed - not interested in mopping ->Don't buy it!!! I've returned them twice! This model is notorious for problems, I spent more time clearing errors than I ever spent vacuuming. After returning it the final time I got a Shark Matrix and the thing is amazing, 100% recommend to everyone who asks.
r/Costco • Roomba J6 for $150 in Sacramento, CA ->There are ionic robovacs that actually pick up a lot of dirt. They are not very smart so you have to block off stuff you don’t want them to clean but they love to pick up animal hair. I would probably buy one or two of those and a swiffer and not buy my shark matrix if I had it to do over again. When I had the ion vac I had it run 2x per day and had to empty it daily. If I had 2 I would alternate one to clean at night and one in the morning and
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I love our Shark Matrix and it was affordable but I haven’t tried anything else so nothing to compare it to. I will research them all when this Shark stops working to see if there is anything that just cleans better. I like the thought of a vacuum and mop option but wasn’t sure if it was better to get a dedicated vacuum and dedicated mop to do a better job. Also, mopping at my house isn’t that difficult since I bought this mop: https://a.co/d/gfpCS3s I use the Shark vacuum and then follow up with a quick mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I have the shark matrix and love it. Self emptying is a must.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum is worth the money? ->Four doggos… from 65lbs to just under 100lbs. We have three of the newer shark matrix models from Costco. 10/10. The only run in the downstairs covering about 2200 sqft. With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. Life changing.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->I went through 4 different robot models, two of the i4 and two of the i7. All 4 eventually stopped charging or had other issues. Been using Shark Matrix Self cleaning for months no issues.
r/RobotVacuums • Am I expecting too much of my vacuum? ->My Shark is just over one year old out of warranty. I was very happy with it but it just stopped dispensing cleaner when mopping. A common problem with these. There is no fix for it. I’ve tried everything.
r/RobotVacuums • Best affordable mopping robot ->I'm quite happy with the Shark vac mop that I got about a week ago. I paid $600. I know Shark isn't often a recommended brand on here but I've had great luck with them. I'm happy with both the mop & vacuum features on this. It can tell the difference between carpet & hard floor & it is very thorough.
r/RobotVacuums • Best affordable mopping robot ->I have two Shark ones now and it's one of my fav home items. I have the mop and vac one.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I think it works pretty good! I use the floor cleaner that goes with the machine and think it's super helpful. I still will mop myself here or there but it def does a great job. I don't see any streaks when it's done.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->Yesss it works great!
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I just bought a shark self emptying vacuum/mop robot about a month ago. Haven't had it during heavy shedding, so can't state how it works for that. I run it a few times a week for light maintenance on hard floors. So far I like it better than my old roomba. The roller on the bottom so far has not been getting clogged up with hair, and the self emptying feature is great. In the short amount of time I've had it, i've been really happy it. Hopefully i can say the same in a couple of years.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->I got a refurbished shark that self empties and mop for $100 on woot. Works better than that $700 roomba
r/CleaningTips • I'm about to check myself in a mental institution ->yes. we have three shibas and *had* two automatic vaccums until one of them succumbed from dog hair and the other one is literally on its last leg. highly recommend, as well as the shark vac/mop!
r/dogs • Is a Roomba-like vacuum worth it for dogs? I need to be de-influenced for my wallets sake ->What vacuum is this? I’ve been trying difference vac/mop robots I just had the Shark matrix clean and it was terrible would just leak water everywhere when “mopping” was only good as a vacuum but this one looks like it did an amazing job. I also have a carpet in my living room which send the robot for a loop. It wouldn’t know what to do. Sometimes mopping the carpet or skipping it altogether lol.
r/RobotVacuums • My wife is no longer complaining about how much I spent on the robot vacuum ->I use the shark one that empties itself and has gps (to map your home so you can clean individual rooms). Lifehack, order it directly from their site and then call them when you receive it to return it. They'll take 40% off to keep it. It's what happened to me after I got buyers remorse. Works great for my husky and gsd
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->Fail. The tail furs are too long and strong and the roller kept snapping. I had the pet model too. Gave it away and have been happier with the Dyson and a handheld
r/greatpyrenees • Do you guys have any robot vacuum success stories?! Or bad ones? ->Well it's definitely not the BEST robot vacuum, because I'm a little on the cheap side and I don't have to have the best thing, but I really like my shark vacuum because they have a patented "lint roller" that keeps pet hair and string from getting tangled or building up on the roller. It's the lidar kind with the self empty base. The self empty base is a must have imo. Running this daily keeps the pet hair tumbleweeds from taking over the house. Doesn't do great on carpet though.
r/homemaking • The best robot vacuum on the market right now that you swear by? ->I had one of the higher end Sharks, can't remember the model, and I thought I liked it. It touted laser mapping, advanced schedules, etc. But then I got the Roborock Q Revo and it absolutely blew me away; made me realize how shitty the Shark was. At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop IYO? Is it really worth its expensive price tag you paid? ->I have 2 dogs and 2 cats. I love my Shark robovac. I got the one that self empties and will continue after it does. It was worth it to upgrade with all the pet hair because both our dogs have blow out twice a year and one cat sheds like crazy too. So it doesn't need me to empty it every 6 minutes.
r/Frugal • Is it worth paying more for a robot vacuum if it makes cleaning easier? ->Not BIFL, but our Shark (get the self emptying base!) has withstood 4 cats, a long haired dog, 3 adults, a toddler, and a long haired teenager for 4 years and still doing well. I was incredibly disappointed in the original roomba I tried. If you do buy a shark buy directly from them. Their customer service is phenomenal. I bought one through a home improvement store as it was on sale. It had a charging issue within 12 months and when I called Shark I was told that since I hadn’t bought from them they couldn’t cover the full replacement even under warranty. BUT if I paid shipping they would send me a new one - $34 later I had a new one on the way. Bonus points as I was able to fix the original and had two robot vacs for the price of 1+ shipping.
r/BuyItForLife • Robot vacuum recommendation? ->I have a dog that never stops shedding. And I just got two cats. I have the Shark robot vacuum that self empties. I love it. I still vacuum every couple of days and get plenty of fur and dirt but I know it picks up its fair share because I empty the reservoir once every week or so and there is plenty in there. I can tell if it doesn’t run for a couple days because I will notice the floors not being as clean. I typically just have it run every day while I’m at work on a timer so I come home to fresh carpet lines. It’s worth spending a little more on these robot vacuums because the self emptying is huge, especially if you have square footage to cover. But it is also so much smarter than the older cheaper brand I had that would constantly get stuck and just bounce around the rooms willy-nilly. This one maps it out and covers all the floor space efficiently.
r/CleaningTips • I'm about to check myself in a mental institution ->I have the Shark that empties itself. Only does one floor and mixed hard wood and rugs. Empties itself twice while cleaning and does a pretty good job.
r/husky • Robot Vacuums? ->I have a Shark with a base that it self empties into. Mine is scheduled to run three times a week and I empty the base once a week. I’ve got two cats, hardwood, and a lot of dust. You’d probably have to empty the base multiple times a week with two shepherds. Honestly I love my Shark. It saved me so much anxiety and time because I was constantly fighting to make my floors feel clean. Now I just have to spot clean and vacuum the corners where the robot can’t reach.
r/CleaningTips • Robot vacuum VS dog hair… battle to the death 💀 ->I second u/Huntit-Ownit ! Get one that has the auto empty dock. I empty mine every couple of days that way. One huge leg up for a Shark over Roomba is that the brush roller is similar to a vacuum (e.g. hard plastic), whereas the roomba is a plastic roller with a rubber cover that is DESTROYED by dog fur and you have to frequently replace. If you keep an eye on Woot they have refurbished sharks on sale pretty frequently, last one I got for $120.... Edit: Looks like Woot has one refurbished for $129!
r/greatpyrenees • Best robot vacuum on a budget? ->I like my big Bissell Pet hair vacuum. It was like $250? I think I got it from target. We have a BC, a Sheppard mix, and a yorkie mix. So, with the 2 bigs we have a lot of hair lol ALSO.... if you do not have them already look at chom chom on amazon... it is a little hand held thing that gets hair off of furniture in a breeze!! I have one in the living room and the bedroom. It is like a lint roller without the sticky tape. you just run it back and fourth really quick on the surface you want to remove hair and it picks it up like a charm! I use that on my couch and bed daily! We also got a shark robot vacuum with a tank that it self empties into and we run that every day too. I have found that daily maintenance or every other day is the best way to keep the hair down
r/BorderCollie • Best vacuum for dog hair? Bonus points if it can be bought at Costco. ->We have a self emptying Shark vacuum that is programmed to run in the living room and kitchen at night. As far as baby toys go. Most of that stuff lives in the giant playpen they takes up 1/3 of my living room. We have other toys for when she’s crawling and cruising around, but those get picked up when we’re done, so the dogs don’t get them.
r/beyondthebump • Vacuum - Mop robots ... with kids? ->I have 3 golden retrievers and 2 cats. I run a shark robot daily (I paid a little over $300, and is self emptying). I have to clean the brush every time it runs. If I don't run it daily, it just clogs up. Still it is less work than keeping up with all that fur. https://preview.redd.it/ddu3lbzejone1.jpeg?width=3072&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25f2be0c57e4ef63f85f3c8e507b9397df9d33aa
r/PetAdvice • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Hair? Best options under $200? ->We have a Dreame that self empties and will mop. It’s in the pricey side, but we’ve also had n auto emptying Shark that I really liked and a Roborock that did very well but you have to empty. FWIW we have two large dogs (Alaskan Malamute and Great Pyrenees) and 8 cats.
r/CleaningTips • I'm about to check myself in a mental institution ->I have a self emptying shark and it has changed my life lol.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->I'm a very happy shark robot vac owner. With dogs of that size and that much hair, you definitely want the self-empting kind as others have noted. I have two corgi-sized high shed my Shark does a great jo. What I love most is that they really stand by their warranty and even fully replaced one of my out of warranty models when they released a software update that bricked every one of that model in the entire US. Shark didn't send me a refurbished vacuum cleaner they sent me a brand new one of their latest model. Whatever you model you go with buy a cheap pack of the replacement air filters. I find that they take forever to dry when you wash them, so having extra means the machine is ready for the next cycle. If you haven't used a robot vac before, mine take a little bit of maintenance about once a month where I wipe the machine down, empty the vacuum, replace or wash the filters, etc. I also have very long hair, so I end up having to cut my hair off the brush. With hardwood floors, you'll be amazed at how much dust all brands of robot vacuums suck up.
r/CleaningTips • whats the Best Robot Vacuum for Pet Hair you've ever tried? ->Can you explain a little more on this? In genuinely curious cause I've had my Shark that auto empties and have had it for a month or two now and it hasn't caused any problems. I've had to clean out the filters already cause they got really dusty but nothing else besides that
r/RobotVacuums • best bagless robot vacuum self-empty ->Yeah the filter cleaning isn't as nice as not cleaning the filter but I don't mind. It's still quicker than vacuuming my place.
r/RobotVacuums • best bagless robot vacuum self-empty ->Love our shark with self emptying feature.
r/homeimprovementideas • Robot vacuum for home - what is the best under $500 ->We love our shark self emptying robot vacuum! Run it almost everyday.
r/CleaningTips • Are the robot vacuums worth it? ->I have 3 cats, love the shark self empty. It empties 2 or 3 times before its done. They stand by their products, sent me a new unit when the brush failed, came with a 3 yr warranty.
r/PetAdvice • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Hair? Best options under $200? ->I've tried shark and iRobot. Both self emptying. Shark lasted a few years, my iRobot is needing parts replacement after only 6 months. iRobot also requires you to buy their own waste bags. It doesn't work without them.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->I have the Shark self emptying one and I LOVE it. It keeps the floors clean day to day and is surprisingly effective. I named it Clean Latifah.
r/CleaningTips • Will I regret getting a robot vacuum? ->Yeah, it was a process for us, but we finally got down to a manageable amount of toys to where my 3yo can help us pick up most nights, or at least get everything into the playroom and then we block that room off and run the vacuum as we're taking the kids up to bed. We have a small cabinet in the playroom so we can rotate toys, and I'll let her take one extra thing out at a time, but then she has to clean up before we get anything else out. I keep most of the multi pieces toys in there so it doesn't get too chaotic. With my 14mo walking around dropping crumbs everywhere it's nice to clean at least the downstairs most days.
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->I'm a SAHM and we just run ours as we're taking the kids up to bed each night. We also have an upstairs one (claimed our warranty for it running loud on our hardwood downstairs and they never asked for the other one back) and that one I run a couple times a week, but I just send it into the kids' rooms individually when they're downstairs playing and then run it for the rest of the upstairs. It doesn't seem to ever wake them from naps either, but we do have light white noise running in both their rooms. ETA: OP, if you're going to get one, splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. I don't know the exact model, but both of ours are Shark and they work great for the price point. (And I think Costco sometimes has deals on them)
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->Not who you asked, but we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point. We've had it 2 years so far.
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->I've been using Roomba's for a while. I have 3 from super dumb to self-emptying... They've been pretty reliable and do a decent job... but are pricier. This year I bought a black friday Shark deal... self emptying... In just a few times of use I find that Shark is behind on the game. This makes me leery to try other manufacturers...
r/RobotVacuums • Hi everyone, I wanted to get my sister a robot vacuum. Amazon has a lot of sales going on. Wondering if anyone has favorite brands OR brands to stay away from? ->lol saw your post right above this one in the other sub. I’ll copy my comment here too in case: I’m with you and the only robot vacuum that didn’t clog or burn out was the self emptying shark one. It was so expensive but it’s been going three years strong. I turn it on while they’re crated and I’m at work and empty it when I get home. I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold. To me it was worth every penny

r/siberianhusky • Best robot vacuum? ->You still have to empty the base but in my experience it allows it to do more than non self emptying. I use mine daily but I also empty the base daily once I get home. I also only use it when they’re up because they would absolutely eat it
r/siberianhusky • Best robot vacuum? ->I have had a Eufy model for 7 years and a Shark self-emptying for 2 years. Love them both, but the Eufy gets tangled and stuck so I have to prep the area. The Shark has a never-stuck option so once it is stuck and you untangle it, then it remembers and will not get stuck again. Both work well and are reliable. You need to manually turn them off if you will be gone for a long time (not sure why). I empty the Shark twice a month and clean the filter. It is scheduled to vacuum twice weekly.
r/CleaningTips • Will I regret getting a robot vacuum? ->Second the shark self emptying one. They do very well with all the hair.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->We have a self-emptying Shark for our gsd, gsd/husky mix, and 2 cats. If it doesn't get run at least once a day, the roller brush will get clogged. We also do supplement vacuuming hard to reach spots with a stick vac.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
