"With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. ... Life changing."
"I will say though, I got it originally when I had 5 shedding dogs jn the house hold full time and I also still live on the same cotton farm. It really keeps up with the dog hair tumbleweeds and dirt."
"I’ve got 3 kids home all day and it does great with tons of food, hair etc."

"Definitely recommend looking for one with self emptying ... I have friends with a roomba that doesn’t have self emptying and they mention it every time they see ours 😂"
"I had tumbleweeds (dog hair, not actual tumbleweeds) that collected on my tile floors. I'd vacuum.... Two days later, tumbleweeds were back. ... My dog hair problem has been solved. ... The vacuum goes out, does it's business, then goes back to its base and empties itself."

"The big thing for me is the app and the map. Once it learns the house you can send it to just individual rooms to clean which is a lifesaver with small kids as rarely are all the floors clean at once. ... I send the robot and it’s amazing."
"I love the mapping function because I can keep it out of certain areas depending on how good I was at preparing the house."
"it ’s randomly stopped talking to the app (I’ve troubleshooted it as much as I can short of calling support), so now it’s lost half its functionality."

"One huge leg up for a Shark over Roomba is that the brush roller is similar to a vacuum (e.g. hard plastic), whereas the roomba is a plastic roller with a rubber cover that is DESTROYED by dog fur and you have to frequently replace."
"I run it 1-3 times and day, I’ve had it for 4 hours. ... Still works great"
"the only robot vacuum that didn’t clog or burn out was the self emptying shark one ... it’s been going three years strong."

Ugh. Ours does REALLY well at binding itself up with wife & daughter's straight hair. Same with edge-brush and the small pivoting roller. Got here looking for something better. edit: ours is a "Matrix plus" UR2360S (Costco.com 9/2024)
r/RobotVacuums • Is there a robot vacuum that doesn't make cleaning out long hair from the brushes/bristles a pain? ->What model Matrix is that? Asking because our "Matrix plus" UR2360S (Costco.com 9/2024) doesn't seem to do anything to minimize hair in rollers, despite the box being emblazoned with "SELF-CLEANING BRUSHROLLER". Edge-roller and even the little pivoting roller all do a bang-up job of binding up seemingly half the hair that they find.
r/RobotVacuums • Is there a robot vacuum that doesn't make cleaning out long hair from the brushes/bristles a pain? ->We use a Roomba and a shark. We wanted to replace the Roomba but evidently my likes to have two robot vacuums.
r/homeautomation • Whats the best robot vacuum for an average home? ->I hate out Roomba, which is why we wanted to replace it. The shark is a ur2360 matrix. I like it but she runs it most of the time. She complained the mapping only did squares and not odd shapes. I like the lidar rather than running into everything. We have the base for both. eta: I looked at the subreddit I was in and thought I would also add that I don't have the Roomba nor the shark connected to my home assistant because she runs it most of the time and she doesn't use the home assistant, so I'm not sure how the integration is.
r/homeautomation • Whats the best robot vacuum for an average home? ->I got a shark with lidar and self emptying on sale for $120 (doesn’t mop)… it replaced a very early model Roomba where the new battery was going to be about the same price, and it’s much better in every way. You can get pretty decent pretty cheap.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->The one I got is a Shark UR2360S. Looks like it's about $250 new checking now, but if you're willing to play the Amazon renewed game (ie. just send it back if it's not like-new) they sell for $99 and the first one I got was perfect/untouched. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0CYHHPZHD I had a few others close to $200 in my short list that were similar but that one seemed like the best value, and wasn't a complete no-name. No issues so far, it maps pretty well, gets more up than my manual vacuum does, etc -- although the Shark API (if you want to control it with your own home automation) is an epic PITA if you care about that. Regardless, I'm sold on self-emptying now...so much better, and easier to not fuss with. Might be moving to a two-story soon, and if so, I'll just get a 2nd of the same.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->Adding to the Shark love. Had a Eufy and when it kicked the bucket after a couple years, we wanted a better replacement. We have the Shark Matrix Plus with the self empty base, which allows it to go a lot longer without needing human intervention. The thing leaves the pretty lines on our carpets and is just darn effective, I adore it so much.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums currently that you've tried and found really effective for daily cleaning? ->Daily vacuuming is a must with a ragdoll. Just add up your hourly rate and you will see how quickly the robot will pay for itself. I have one on each level of my house and run them daily. No raggie tumbleweeds! I also comb my raggie every night while watching TV! (I have the Shark robots from Costco. Mapped my house, work perfectly)
r/ragdolls • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Hair? Best options under $200? ->I have the Costco shark too, and it's great for a two cat household.
r/ragdolls • Is a Robot vacuum worth it for Pet Hair? Best options under $200? ->I got a shark from Costco and it’s been magical. I run it every day so will be happy if I get 18 mos out of it - multiple pets, hairy people, one level house with all hard floors and low pile area rugs. I have to deep clean it at least once a month but it’s so worth it. The robo mop vac from Shark is garbage though, the worst of both worlds
r/homemaking • Best robot vacuum recommendations - Do they really ease your burden with cleaning up? ->I have the shark from Costco , it works fine. About 1 time a week you need to clean out the hair that accumulates in the robot. That said it works well. Get the one with the AI mapping of your home and the 30 day bin. ( said bin will be full of fur every week ) ( my robot would go around napping dog and come back later )
r/bernesemountaindogs • Robot vacuum suggestions ->I've had the Shark Robot from Costco for over a year now with a cat, GSD, and Aussie mix. Still works great!
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->I used to do reviews and have had a few. I had an I-home I purchased myself and it was the worst. Broke multiple times (from hair and dog hair on the roller) ultimately I got my money back after a few replacements. I have been using a shark from Costco. It works well but the software sucks. It doesn’t track itself on the map and invisible barriers seem to not be recognized or poorly managed. The best I have had is roborock. It lasted and the software sucked less. Replacement parts like the brush roller were readily available. It’s more expensive but get the external self emptying thing. Mine fills with dog fur quickly. Also be sure to get the laser guided mapping ones. Again it’s more expensive but allows you to really fine tune where it goes and does not go. Mopping wise there are pad ones that basically drag a microfiber cloth around. They are ok but not great. The ones with the rotating pads I haven’t tested but would seem to work much better. As with a lot of tech products and appliances like this they wear and are built to just replace. They fail and the tech becomes dated. I wouldn’t say any of them are buy it for life.
r/BuyItForLife • Best self cleaning robot vacuum? ->Dang mine didn’t even make the list lol. It’s been great to me though
r/RobotVacuums • I analyzed the 25 most recommended robot vacuums on Reddit ->Shark Matrix. Not the 2-1, not any of the AI ones. Just shark matrix with LiDar
r/RobotVacuums • I analyzed the 25 most recommended robot vacuums on Reddit ->I had original roombas for many years. Saw a deal end of 2024 on Woot for refurbished Shark Matrix self emptying robotic vacuums. Since then 7 friends and family have done the same All are very happy, great deal at $100-$t50. My Aussie and I both shed a lot, it goes from carpet to tile and cleans throw rugs. Last time I saw them on Amazon for about the same price
r/RobotVacuums • Planning to buy my first robot vacuum, I plan to go for a flagship model. What would you all recommend? ->Shark matrix self-emptying. I like it because I can schedule it to run every evening. It’s moves from hard floor to rugs easily
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->I've got 3 sharks atm (one for each floor), and 1 broke down after 3 years, another has some battery draining issue but otherwise works (1.5 years), and the third is a refurbished one and has zero issues. Not 100% sure id go for a shark again, but if I got a new one I'd go for a higher priced one. In this price range I think it's pretty good. Just annoying to find parts/fix.
r/RobotVacuums • Need advice on which vacuum to keep my ->I recently got the Shark Matrix Plus at Costco for about 300. It vacuums, mops, avoids rugs, and mapping was really easy. I absolutely love it. Some people do say it’s loud, but we have 5 cats, 4 dogs, and 3 kids, so noise isn’t even really noticeable. This thing has our floors looking better than ever, and it has cut our daily cleaning and Sunday chores down drastically. It looks like I deep clean the house every day. Highly recommend it.
r/RobotVacuums • Best vac/mop combo ->The shark will likely navigate and localise itself better thanks to it's lidar navigation. It will bump into walls softer than the roomba will. However the j5+ will avoid unexpected obstacles on the ground like shoes, cords etc. better. The j5 mopping isn't thorough as there isn't any spinning or agitation, but it's better than nothing. The j5 will also likely last long, unlike many bots that have been suggested by others here
r/RobotVacuums • Need advice on which vacuum to keep my ->I have a shark matrix right now it does a good enough job
r/homeassistant • What are the best robot vacuums for those who're struggling with lots of PET HAIR? ->I use a Shark Matrix. It self empties and has a lot of features for its price point. It uses both bumpers and LiDAR to navigate around and vacuums up GSD and Lab fur really well.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->I like our Shark Matrix. Low cost (relatively), no mop, no bags (empties into a removable plastic bin), and the app is decent. Have been running for a few months and it’s good. We have a dog also (medium hair length). Picks up the hair really well. The claim of 30-days before emptying is BS, as that’s based on a non pet hair household. I auto run it 3 times a week and empty maybe 1-2 times a week. Once every other week it will get stuck, but for the most part it handles the terrain and the thresholds, and jumps onto an area rug well. We also have some new rugs, so they are “shedding” a lot, which makes me empty more often. I think I got it for about $279 around the holidays, but have seen them lately in the low $300’s on Amazon.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->That’s crazy. I’d hate that too. How old is it / what model. I’ve never had anything like that happen. I have had it stop because the roller needs clearing, which I now clean about once a week.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->I would offer a couple of things. We have a medium length hairy dog. It’s whey we got a robovac, tbh. We got a shark matrix (not selling you this one, just commenting on features I think are important to understand). We’ve had one a few months and it’s a life changer, imho. Two features I’d look for in any vac are rollers that won’t tangle because they have some advanced feature of some sort, and a self emptying bin, not a bag, a bin. I didn’t realize what an advantage the bin would be, and lucked into this feature, because I wasn’t purposely shopping for it. Maybe bags last long and compact the do hair, idk. Our “30 day bin” has a little dirt and is full of a hair ball in a week. I’d ask folks with dogs how long bags last. I’d want to make sure they aren’t ripping through them at a cost you aren’t expecting. Other than that, I love having a robovac, no more hairballs floating all around the house. Enjoy.
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->It is difficult to find what you need at your price point. You need a mop, good object avoidance and hair pickup due to the pets. So you kind of have to sacrifice in one area. Increase the price or reduce a feature or two. You could do without the object avoidance if you don't run a schedule and check the floors for objects every time you run the robot. Shark matrix is an old version. If you buy a Shark brand, it's mainly for being bagless. Bags are a way for these companies to hide the price of the robot, since you have to keep buying bags at $5 each. I would recommend RV2820YE if you go for shark brand due to it being the cheapest option with no bags, good object avoidance and a mop but it's a little more than what you wanted to spend. I've had a shark for a few years and it works well but I do have to clear the floors for it before running. I'm getting a AV2820S for $400 because it has better object avoidance but doesn't have the complication of a mop, the odor cartridges or the added cost of bags. You probably need a mop though. Irobot J7+ doesn't have a mop so it would leave behind mud from dogs but it has the best object detection, so it won't hit poop. That won't matter if you check your floors before running it. The Euphy L60 doesn't have a mop and the version that does, doesn't work very well unless you get the $800 version. Roborock Qrevo S is on sale now for $460 on Amazon and that's what I would get if I were you. It has good reviews, dual spinning mops, self empty base and object avoidance (though not the best). I don't like that it uses bags that run up the cost over time but maybe the cheaper off brand bags work okay? https://www.amazon.com/roborock-Qrevo-Self-Drying-Self-Emptying-Refilling/dp/B0CTZXJTGJ?tag=vwads3-20&th=1
r/RobotVacuums • Advice on first robot vacuum please! ->It seems the general consensus from all the aggregate data here is this: Don’t get Roomba or Shark (wish I’d found this sub before buying my Shark Matrix) they’re the market leaders and lean heavily on brand recognition so they’re very feature poor compared to the competition. Roborock seems to be the far and away most recommended if you’re willing to spend the money. They aren’t cheap but seem to have the best software. It does seem that universally the hardware is good enough these days. There’s not tons of meaningful competition on that side and it’s all the software side of things. The budget market has a less clear winner but going with one of the Asian brands is still the way to go.
r/RobotVacuums • This Subreddit doesn’t help in finding your best fit. ->Roomba 105 said “docking? never heard of her.” If nav + no-go zones matter, go Roborock Q5 for laser brain, pet-hair beast. Shark Matrix is better than old Shark, but still a bit lost sometimes. Just pick the smart one.
r/RobotVacuums • Affordable lidar vac that docks on carpet? ->I have a shark matrix that has been chugging along and doing a good job! Sometimes I need to remap the room when we loose power for extended periods and the vacuum dies.
r/BuyItForLife • The Best Robot Vacuum that Lasts? ->My Roborock quervo that I got two weeks ago has been incredible. We had a shark matrix because it didn’t have bags, but made a compromise to upgrade. It is like watching a Zamboni drive across the floor when it is mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • Best self emptying robot vacuum? ->We have the shark matrix and love it! Many cats and it keeps up! Much less than you're willing to spend at target. Edit for grammar
r/RobotVacuums • Trying to get a good robot vacuum for Mother’s Day ->Shark Matrix from Costco. We’ve had it for more than a year and so far it’s been doing all right. I’d recommend it to anyone wanting a reliable vacuum.
r/RobotVacuums • What’s the best self-emptying vacuum only device? ->I have a Shark Matrix (~$300) and love it! I was skeptical at first but it works so well with getting up dog hair and sand/dirt. It's very low maintenance too.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->My Shark Matrix has them also and it's a game changer. I would find myself cutting massive tangles of cat hairs out of my Roomba's roller brush every couple of days!
r/RobotVacuums • Which one is better for dog hair? ->Another vote here for the shark matrix. We have 4 cats and it makes a major difference at a small price
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->We have a shark matrix and really love it, though the app is a bit…unfriendly. Definitely recommend looking for one with self emptying, I have friends with a roomba that doesn’t have self emptying and they mention it every time they see ours 😂
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I have laminate flooring with low pile area rugs and use a Shark Matrix robot vacuum. I did a lot of research before buying it because I have long hair and it gets everywhere. LOL. (Seriously. I've had trouble with upright vacuum cleaners in the past.) I also have 2 low-shedding dogs. I bought the vacuum from Costco specifically because of their return policy. I'm really happy with it. I think it would work well with golden retriever hair, but I don't know about cat hair. In my experience, cat hair is very fine, especially the undercoat. One very important thing you should know is that most (if not all) robot vacuums have problems with objects on the floor. Every time I use the vacuum, I have to pick up all of the dog toys, their water bowl, their dog beds, any shoes that I've left on the floor, etc. I don't know how old your kids are, but you'll have problems if they leave things on the floor.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I have a dog and two cats. We have a shark matrix and a roomba. Both vacuums work really well on hard surfaces, which is mostly what we have. Neither does great on carpet or rugs, but if we run the robots once day, we can get away with only vacuuming the rugs once a week to once a month. They work much better for maintenance than for deep cleaning.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->I LOVE my Shark Matrix. I have both the regular one and the mopping combo.
r/RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum is everybody looking to buy Black Friday? ->We have the Shark Matrix and it does a good job in vaccuming. Only con I have with it is that they don't allow multi floor mapping.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->My parents gave me a Shark Matrix for Christmas, and all I could get it to do was spot clean by putting it where I wanted. Though that might have been user error.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for robot vacuums that don't need wifi ->We have a roomba j7 and shark matrix. The roomba is "smarter" but the shark is more adventurous. They both do alright. We have a lab/golden mix dog and a cat.
r/BuyItForLife • Pet owners, what's the best robot vacuum for TONS OF PET HAIR that's worked really well? ->What about a Shark Matrix? They self empty and hold a lot of dirt and do a good job cleaning. I have the Shark AI (which is $279 on amazon) and I love it. Dustbin is big and no bag required, super easy to dump. It has a few filters that you need to find and clean, but I really like that too. It's got some HEPA stuff. It works hard and doesn't freak out too often; the app is pretty solid.
r/RobotVacuums • Suggestions for robot vacuum? ->I have 2 versions of shark matrix. Planning on getting another once the basement renovation is finished. I run mine every weekday morning due to having a high shedding dog. My older one isn’t doing so good atm, having issues self emptying but otherwise reliable.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->Recently purchased the Shark Matrix and love it. I have 3 dogs that shed like crazy and it’s been working wonders vs the Roomba I previously had. Would’ve got a Roborock but unfortunately the funds weren’t there. The Shark app is super easy to navigate, too. My house is 95% hard wood and it does not get stuck.
r/RobotVacuums • Of these three options, which are the best for hardwood/carpet/rug combo, and pet hair? ->I have the matrix shark and like it. The app is really not that bad although can’t see the robot moving around the map with the matrix version. I can set no-go zones.
r/RobotVacuums • Advice needed - not interested in mopping ->I have a shark matrix Tbh I love the vacuum part of it. It self empties which is great. I hate hate hate the mopping feature. The pad stays dirty and I constantly have to change it out and never feel like it really gets my floors clean. I wish I didn't even get one with that feature. The vacuuming and mapping aspect though is top tier. So I honestly just mop or use my shark 2in1 vacmop for when I need to really deep clean my floors. Edit - i have 4 dogs, only one primary shedder, full time then 2 more shedders part time when my partner comes over weekly as wel as 3 cats. Then also a small kid. Down side tk the kid is she sometimes let's markers or colored pencils/crayons go under the couches which then get caught in the vacuum. Being woken up by a "my brush roll is stuck" from a deep sleep is very creepy 😂 I will say though, I got it originally when I had 5 shedding dogs jn the house hold full time and I also still live on the same cotton farm. It really keeps up with the dog hair tumbleweeds and dirt.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->There are ionic robovacs that actually pick up a lot of dirt. They are not very smart so you have to block off stuff you don’t want them to clean but they love to pick up animal hair. I would probably buy one or two of those and a swiffer and not buy my shark matrix if I had it to do over again. When I had the ion vac I had it run 2x per day and had to empty it daily. If I had 2 I would alternate one to clean at night and one in the morning and
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->I love our Shark Matrix and it was affordable but I haven’t tried anything else so nothing to compare it to. I will research them all when this Shark stops working to see if there is anything that just cleans better. I like the thought of a vacuum and mop option but wasn’t sure if it was better to get a dedicated vacuum and dedicated mop to do a better job. Also, mopping at my house isn’t that difficult since I bought this mop: https://a.co/d/gfpCS3s I use the Shark vacuum and then follow up with a quick mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • What's the best robot vacuum? ->My husband works for a masonry company. You can literally see the trail of cement and mortar dust he leaves when he walks through the house when he gets home. Doesn't matter if he changes into a clean work shirt after work before getting home, or if he shakes his boots off before coming inside. He gets in the shower and I turn on my little robot and he takes care of it all. I have a shark matrix robot (i can't recall the exact name) but that little robot does a wonderful job. He also can auto empty himself and will do so if he's in the middle of a job and gets too full, he goes back to his dock, dumps his collections, and goes right back to vacuuming until the room is done. Constantly sweeping up after my husband got old super quick. If I could set that robot to just follow him around I would. I only gotta sweep stuff out of corners or places I know Mr. Robot can't easily get to. But i love him, he's part of the family, and his name is Lenny the shark. He has googly eyes.
r/homemaking • Best robot vacuum recommendations - Do they really ease your burden with cleaning up? ->I have the shark matrix and love it. Self emptying is a must.
r/RobotVacuums • Which robot vacuum is worth the money? ->I have the shark matrix and love it! I run it about 3x a week because half the time I can’t be bothered to pick up before bed. We run it when we go to bed. It’s pretty loud but doesn’t keep me awake.
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->Four doggos… from 65lbs to just under 100lbs. We have three of the newer shark matrix models from Costco. 10/10. The only run in the downstairs covering about 2200 sqft. With three they can just make it to a full week for emptying. Life changing.
r/CleaningTips • What's the best robot vacuum for pet hair widely loved and highly recommended by Homeowners today? ->I got the shark matrix with the self empty base without the mop. Works great and no issues with the app so far, I also like that It has Google home integration. I paid $200 at Costco, not sure I would pay much more than that. I would look into the refurbished ones I think they get down to like $150
r/RobotVacuums • Advice needed - not interested in mopping ->I have two of these, one for each floor. Each run twice a day. I frequently have to pick them up and pull clumps of hair out from around the wheels and the roller brush. The 30 day bins have to be emptied weekly. I have two long haired GSDs.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->Same here. I have a Dyson animal that I use once a week. I run the self emptying shark matrix the days I don’t use the Dyson. I don’t have carpet though and that seems to help. When we had carpet it required more effort on my part.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->I have one of these and it does help. Also, hair gets stuck in the wheels and I have to take it apart to clear clogs in it from time to time. It’s not a maintenance free thing. I would recommend it but just know you have to check it from time to time and change the filters regularly. I have two dogs now so it gets clogged more often. I just bought a Miele and use my robot occasionally. The Miele is amazing and it helps so much with the dust.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->We noticed a noise and that’s when we found the wheels were gathering hair. We haven’t found a solution for it yet except to keep an eye on it and clean it out. Not that big of a deal but I wanted to share. It’s definitely not a deal breaker.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->I laughed when my wife came home with one of these. I said it’s a waste of money and the dog hair would kill it within the week. I will happily say I was wrong, they’re great and given that our little princess hates us hovering she’s quite happy for the vacuum to get on with it. It even mops the kitchen.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->I had a huge dog hair problem. I had to vacuum daily. I bought a [Shark Matrix self emptying vacuum](https://www.costco.com/.product.4000188076.html?langId=-1&krypto=lXoDuuJSBRqhGdctpdyRlXAbvKZWS6sLiIKyamtXQ8h6A3hBIV%2Bj%2F4qWRvQEoxTX5W60gIPBnn8fEPFCxsshqO%2F%2B%2F81n58XB%2F2CY%2B7P4xRtjtQOhDW2tbdz%2FNV70jP6rawxu%2FvcDUgMGJmw2nuPOyhO2eat1iAm6kTYrgZa9d9M%2BitL1Ds%2BQMJKBp8FHjMM727oIkMKnOSCkSfeeoP991y4DkHk%2FdXsJEpyQZ3RpanY%3D) and my hair problem is gone! I run the vacuum 7 days a week at 2 am in the morning. It has completely solved my dog hair problem and the vacuum doesn't get stuck or lost like my old Roomba did. I would highly recommend this vacuum.
r/germanshepherds • Recommendations on a Robot Vacuum ->What vacuum is this? I’ve been trying difference vac/mop robots I just had the Shark matrix clean and it was terrible would just leak water everywhere when “mopping” was only good as a vacuum but this one looks like it did an amazing job. I also have a carpet in my living room which send the robot for a loop. It wouldn’t know what to do. Sometimes mopping the carpet or skipping it altogether lol.
r/RobotVacuums • My wife is no longer complaining about how much I spent on the robot vacuum ->I had one of the higher end Sharks, can't remember the model, and I thought I liked it. It touted laser mapping, advanced schedules, etc. But then I got the Roborock Q Revo and it absolutely blew me away; made me realize how shitty the Shark was. At every level it's better: primarily it cleans way better, but also the app is better, it's actually easy to get replacement parts, and a ton of minor things that make it feel polished, like the robot will announce on its own device speaker what's happening, like why it got stuck or why it's returning to a dock. Contrast this with a few friends of mine that have even worse vacuums than the Shark: theirs get stuck all the time, can't find their way home to the dock, they end up not using it at all. Long story short, based on my experience it's absolutely worth spending good money to get a good robot vacuum.
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop IYO? Is it really worth its expensive price tag you paid? ->Avoid shark robots . Just a year in, my shark lidar based robot died. My 4 year old roomba is still kicking fine
r/RobotVacuums • How do we feel about Vacuum Wars ratings? ->Well it's definitely not the BEST robot vacuum, because I'm a little on the cheap side and I don't have to have the best thing, but I really like my shark vacuum because they have a patented "lint roller" that keeps pet hair and string from getting tangled or building up on the roller. It's the lidar kind with the self empty base. The self empty base is a must have imo. Running this daily keeps the pet hair tumbleweeds from taking over the house. Doesn't do great on carpet though.
r/homemaking • The best robot vacuum on the market right now that you swear by? ->I have a shark robot vac that does mapping and self emptying. It forces me to be a little more mindful of picking up every night and I love the mapping function because I can keep it out of certain areas depending on how good I was at preparing the house. Highly recommend!
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->Not BIFL, but our Shark (get the self emptying base!) has withstood 4 cats, a long haired dog, 3 adults, a toddler, and a long haired teenager for 4 years and still doing well. I was incredibly disappointed in the original roomba I tried. If you do buy a shark buy directly from them. Their customer service is phenomenal. I bought one through a home improvement store as it was on sale. It had a charging issue within 12 months and when I called Shark I was told that since I hadn’t bought from them they couldn’t cover the full replacement even under warranty. BUT if I paid shipping they would send me a new one - $34 later I had a new one on the way. Bonus points as I was able to fix the original and had two robot vacs for the price of 1+ shipping.
r/BuyItForLife • Robot vacuum recommendation? ->I have 3 and the best cleaner is by far the not smart ilife a4. They are inexpensive and run well on regular low pile carpet. Only complaint is that it sees black carpet spots as a drop and goes haywire. My ilife v80max Is finicky, battery sucks, same black carpet issue. My shark self emptying doesn't do corners and edges well due to the tiny single brush it has, the self emptying doesn't work 60% of the time due to cat hair. Just get the cheap ilife, hell, get 2 or 3 for the price. Mines lasted 8 years and counting.
r/BuyItForLife • Best self cleaning robot vacuum? ->I have a Shark with a base that it self empties into. Mine is scheduled to run three times a week and I empty the base once a week. I’ve got two cats, hardwood, and a lot of dust. You’d probably have to empty the base multiple times a week with two shepherds. Honestly I love my Shark. It saved me so much anxiety and time because I was constantly fighting to make my floors feel clean. Now I just have to spot clean and vacuum the corners where the robot can’t reach.
r/CleaningTips • Robot vacuum VS dog hair… battle to the death 💀 ->I second u/Huntit-Ownit ! Get one that has the auto empty dock. I empty mine every couple of days that way. One huge leg up for a Shark over Roomba is that the brush roller is similar to a vacuum (e.g. hard plastic), whereas the roomba is a plastic roller with a rubber cover that is DESTROYED by dog fur and you have to frequently replace. If you keep an eye on Woot they have refurbished sharks on sale pretty frequently, last one I got for $120.... Edit: Looks like Woot has one refurbished for $129!
r/greatpyrenees • Best robot vacuum on a budget? ->I have a self emptying shark and it has changed my life lol.
r/husky • Best robot vacuum...for all the hair? ->Love our shark with self emptying feature.
r/homeimprovementideas • Robot vacuum for home - what is the best under $500 ->I've tried shark and iRobot. Both self emptying. Shark lasted a few years, my iRobot is needing parts replacement after only 6 months. iRobot also requires you to buy their own waste bags. It doesn't work without them.
r/germanshepherds • Robot vacuum? Best ones? ->We have a shark with a self emptying and charging station and I love it so much more than the previous roomba. Sharks clean in a stripe or grid pattern whereas roomba is a seemingly random pattern that drives me nuts. Our shark also lets me pick the level of suction eco, normal, max (I almost always use max) but that feature gives more control over the noise, and also has an option for what they call matrix clean but it’s basically a grid, it’ll do stripes all one way then perpendicular to really get everything. I’ve got 3 kids home all day and it does great with tons of food, hair etc. I use my big vacuum weekly on the main rug, maybe monthly on kids room rugs and shark for all other nearly daily maintenance. The big thing for me is the app and the map. Once it learns the house you can send it to just individual rooms to clean which is a lifesaver with small kids as rarely are all the floors clean at once. My kids know and have learned how to get a room clean and “roomba ready” (shark vacuum just habit), so they go pick it up, I send the robot and it’s amazing. Occasionally with an app update your robot will act like it’s lost and doesn’t know the map and you have to remap the house which is annoying, but it’s still so worth it to me.
r/homemaking • Best robot vacuum recommendations - Do they really ease your burden with cleaning up? ->Yeah, it was a process for us, but we finally got down to a manageable amount of toys to where my 3yo can help us pick up most nights, or at least get everything into the playroom and then we block that room off and run the vacuum as we're taking the kids up to bed. We have a small cabinet in the playroom so we can rotate toys, and I'll let her take one extra thing out at a time, but then she has to clean up before we get anything else out. I keep most of the multi pieces toys in there so it doesn't get too chaotic. With my 14mo walking around dropping crumbs everywhere it's nice to clean at least the downstairs most days.
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->I'm a SAHM and we just run ours as we're taking the kids up to bed each night. We also have an upstairs one (claimed our warranty for it running loud on our hardwood downstairs and they never asked for the other one back) and that one I run a couple times a week, but I just send it into the kids' rooms individually when they're downstairs playing and then run it for the rest of the upstairs. It doesn't seem to ever wake them from naps either, but we do have light white noise running in both their rooms. ETA: OP, if you're going to get one, splurge for the self emptying because if you have to empty it every time you're less likely to use it. We only have to empty ours like once a month and I have a 14mo and a 3yo who drop crumbs everywhere. I don't know the exact model, but both of ours are Shark and they work great for the price point. (And I think Costco sometimes has deals on them)
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->Not who you asked, but we have a Shark with a large self emptying bin and that thing is great for the price point. We've had it 2 years so far.
r/toddlers • Moms of toddlers, what do you think of robot vacuums? ->I’m with you and the only robot vacuum that didn’t clog or burn out was the self emptying shark one. It was so expensive but it’s been going three years strong. I turn it on while they’re crated and I’m at work and empty it when I get home. I’ve seen on the camera the poor guy making multiple trips to self empty while in one room but it’s cut the hair buildup tenfold. To me it was worth every penny
r/siberianhusky • Best robot vacuum? ->You still have to empty the base but in my experience it allows it to do more than non self emptying. I use mine daily but I also empty the base daily once I get home. I also only use it when they’re up because they would absolutely eat it
r/siberianhusky • Best robot vacuum? ->I’m obsessed with my shark robot vacuum that self empties. I run it 1-3 times and day, I’ve had it for 4 hours. Still works great and I love having a clean floor!
r/workingmoms • What are the best robot vacuums in your opinion - Are they really worth the money? ->We got a shark vacuum from Amazon on a black friday/cyber monday deal, came out to about $300 or so. I specifically chose one with the base to auto dump into. We have a long haired 97 lbs dog and 3 cats. The vacuum goes through the house once a day every day. It is noticeable when it doesn't run. Sometimes it gets stuck, either physically on an object, or the long hair is too much and it clogs up the roller and we have to clear it before it can run again. But for the most part, itnis really good at maintaining the floors to look decent. We have a mix of carpet and hard floors. It doesn't get everything off the carpet, but it does enough for the hair to not be noticeable. Without the daily robot vacuums, there are noticeable puffs of fur all over the floor. It definitely was a relief on my mental worries of keeping the floors clean when we got it. I could tell the difference within the first few days.
