I returned my shark matrix 2 in 1, I returned my ecovacs t20. Both out of the box would not return to the station. The shark cleaned ok and had a terrible map. The t20 cleaned great and had a good map, but the app froze every single time. The eufy x10 Omni cleans great and works.
I recently got this one, but without the mop feature. I have been struggling with it. Apparently, it does not work unless it is connected to WiFi and you use the app. I have a hard time getting it to stay connected to WiFi even though it is docked right next to the router.
Shark Matrix 2 in 1 is a budget friendly option. We refill the tank every day and replace the mop pad (machine washable), so only takes a couple of minutes of maintenance a day. And it maps the house so you can tell it to only clean certain rooms if you want and has an app/scheduling
I've had a Matrix for 3 years and a Matrix 2 in 1 for 1 year and they have been extremely reliable! I've got two long haired cats and these deal with hairs like a charm!
I have to say you're right, the app is junk and a hassle to setup. Once you're up and running and you don't have to interact with the app, I think they're a fabulous value!
I've been running the same schedule and map since I've acquired my OG Matrix 3 years ago. Haven't had a single problem with it. The main issue I've had with the 2 in 1 is that the area avoidance for the mop tend do not work. The work around has been the create a room for the area I want it to avoid and excluding it from the scheduled clean.

I have the Shark Matrix 2 in 1, and am quite happy with it. I dont know how it compares to others though....
I just got the narwhal Freo pro. I upgraded from the horrendous shark matrix 2-1. It is amazing. The only down side is that I have to buy cleaning tablets for it and dust bags. And unfortunately no off brand company makes the dust bags for this model. So I buy the dust bags for ultra. It fits all the same :). It’s also on sale on Amazon for 460$, originally 700$
My downstairs (small space) is all tile, so I just use a shark matrix 2 in 1. I’m waiting to replace it with a narwhal. I vacuum all the carpets manually.
Same, fuck you shark. It won't mop until it recognizes that it's in the correct room, EVEN WHEN YOU TELL IT TO DO THE WHOLE HOUSE. Until then, it just wanders around aimlessly. Fucking useless piece of shit. Some days it just will not do anything. Just won't recognize any room.
Yeah I clean out the brush every week. It usually gets so tangled with hair you kind of have to. I basically clean the whole thing every week. So far it has lasted about a year. I have a shark Matrix. It can never find the room and it never works with Google though
It's about a wash for me. I have a shark Matrix. I have to spend about 20 minutes wrangling with it to get it to actually clean the floor for 10 minutes. It will not start vacuuming / mopping until it recognizes what room it's in. Unfortunately, it just won't recognize the room sometimes. Maybe a piece of furniture got moved, or there's shopping bags on the floor, whatever. It just won't do anything. It just wanders around uselessly and I keep having to pick it up and put it in a new spot. Some days it just wanders around aimlessly until it's out of batteries and then goes back. Some days it just immediately goes back without ever doing anything at all. Oh and it disconnects itself from Google everyday. So I can't use the Google home to give it commands, which is one of the primary reasons I bought it. So yeah, they can save you time, but make sure you get a good one.
I have a mutt that we belive is primarily great Pyrenees and Australian shepherd and 2 cats. We have the shark matrix 2 in 1 and a regular shark robo vac. They do super well with the hair, however, the self emptying one was the only one that made it "worth" it. The one with just the lil canister on the back has to be emptied so frequently, we kinda stopped using it because you might as well just break out the big vacuum at that point. Plus, the option to mop is nice in the winter when the dog is tracking in mud and snow and whatever else. We have a weird room thats a step down from the rest of the house where the more simple robo vac lives and the 2in1 does the rest of the house. We love them so much we named them and consider them valuable members of the household.
I have an AI Shark and it picks up hair from the carpet. I also have a Shark 2-in-1 Natrix vac-mop for our bamboo floors and it is FULL of dog hair after every run (it’s furnado season for our American Eskimo mix), for me, the Matrix does not have a big enough dust bin. The AI has a nice big self-emptying dust bin. I got them both on Facebook Marketplace for $150 each.
I paid $298, which was on rollback at Walmart from $500 for my shark two and one matrix and I love it
Well listen I love mine there are a lot of different models and maybe I have a good one I don't know but I love it and the price is right
