I have one of the Shark models where it’s a double canister vacuum. The robot is a small canister vac on wheels and the emptying doc is also a canister vacuum. It worked well for the first 2 years and has been slowly dying the last 3 years. I can’t get it to connect to my phone any more and the app is pretty terrible. Not the same model, but it looks similar to this: https://www.bestbuy.com/product/shark-navigator-robot-vacuum-self-empty-base-gray/JXJVXLJPRR/sku/6641726 I think if / when we replace it, I’m going to look at Roborock and iRobot. I also think I want to get one where at least the dock is bagged. I really wish I could find one where the robot itself is a bagged vacuum but not too sure if that exists.

Definitely worth it. A robot vacuum and litter box have been great for us! This isn't the exact model we have but this brand with a self emptying charging dock is a massive plus in our lives. Six weeks ago I bought my first ever robot vac from Sam's Club -- a Shark EZ Robot Vacuum with Row-by-Row Cleaning -- for $92. Low charging doc, works great, deal with cat hair from my 2 cats. Love it!

4 cats and hair about as long as yours. Shark robot with no-wrap. The beater has blades instead of brushes. Now “no wrap” doesn’t mean “no wrap”. The hair migrates to the ends of the beater bar. Still have to unclog the thing at least once per cycle (run it 1x/wk).

Shark has an app where you can control the robot from, but you don’t have to pay for it.

Can you explain a little more on this? In genuinely curious cause I've had my Shark that auto empties and have had it for a month or two now and it hasn't caused any problems. I've had to clean out the filters already cause they got really dusty but nothing else besides that

Yeah the filter cleaning isn't as nice as not cleaning the filter but I don't mind. It's still quicker than vacuuming my place.
