"auto empty mop station; this is the real standout feature for me. ... It's super easy to hook up the two hoses under your sink. ... The dock slides nicely under the toe kick of your cabinets and the robot will auto fill and drain the mop. ... No reservoirs of funky dirty water to deal with, it's all just pumped away. ... The dock requires no direct power, rather it runs off the robots power when it docks."
"it has a roller mop, and it dumps dirty mop water into my main, instead of a bucket."
"I had the auto-fill station connected to the watter supply / drain, set up the schedule to run dayly and pretty much forgot about it. ... I do some very minimal maintenance every few weeks - mostly removing cat / wife hair from the rotating parts, but they are not a big problem even though the cat is big and long-haired, the wife is thin and long-haired :) It takes just a few minutes and is very easy. ... Back then it was the only one capable of dumping the dirty (and smelly) water and filling the tank with fresh water automatically. Now other brands (like Roborock) can do that too. The "Fire and forget", almost 0-maintenance factor was quite important for me, being a lazy guy :)"

"Its object recognision and obstacle avoidance is mostly OK, but not perfect. ... I don't know how well it will handle toys lying on the ground. ... And I would definitely not trust it with pet poop. ... I don't want to know what will happen if it is still there when the robot starts cleaning. I guess I will find out sooner or later anyway :)"

"After it is done cleaning it goes to the main station to empty the dust bin (which is very loud)"
"then starts drying the roller mop for hours! ... The drying is mostly quiet (you can still hear it if the room is silent), but from time to time it rotates the mop, which is not that quiet. If you're trying to have a nap and are just falling asleep it is a little annoying."

"the S10 is acting a bit funky on the current firmware though."
I was torn between the S10R and the Z70, but I ended up going for the Z70 because of the robotic arm and honestly the suction power and obstacle avoidance are perfect. My place has a pretty complicated layout, but I never have to worry about it getting stuck anywhere.
r/RobotVacuums • For the love of God, is there objectively a good robovac choice? ->Switchbot S10. Plumbed into the water and waste line. Pretty kick butt for ~$700.
r/homeassistant • What's the best robot vacuum and mop IYO? Is it really worth its expensive price tag you paid? ->I have the Switchbot S10. In a really really round about way you can get it into HA but it isn't great. As far as the actual unit it does great! I got it open box on Ebay for \~400. However, if I were to do it again and money was no object I would get the dream x40. Vacuum wars on Youtube has been my guide for the past 3 robot vacuums minus this switchbot one.
r/homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Robot Vacuum Mop today? ->Dreame X40 Master. I had the switchbot S10 and its light years better.
r/RobotVacuums • Are these the only ones that are available to be connected to your plumbing? Surely not. ->I have the Switchbot S10 and it's been excellent. It has the roller mop and it does a great job. The vacuuming is also very good. I have it hooked up to my kitchen plumbing system so it's pretty convenient. I rarely have to do anything except just run a cleaning cycle at night when going to bed and wake up to a clean house. The app is not bad either. Though it might struggle with high rise rugs
r/RobotVacuums • Is a roller mop the best robot mopper for real hardwood floors? No budget limit. ->I have the switchbot s10 for about 7 months now...only issue is the obstacle avoidance could be better; other than that, no other issues. It runs smoothly. Also it's cheaper than others with discount code. For the (discounted) price, it's worth it.
r/RobotVacuums • For the love of God, is there objectively a good robovac choice? ->I vacuumed and mopped so little, that robot vacuums make a lot of sense. I still manually vacuum once a month, but my Roomba and Switchbot keep my floors plenty clean for me. I'm not particularly messy though—no pets, no kids, etc.
r/homeautomation • Can robot vacuum truly deep clean your home? ->I'm very happy with my switchbot s10. I change the bag once every couple of months. I wouldn't call it silent, but it hasn't annoyed me, and you can adjust the suction power lower to make it quieter if you need to. Never runs into anything.
r/RobotVacuums • recommendations for self emptying + object avoidance and preferably quiet robot? ->I have a Switchbot S10, and you can barely tell it mopped (I can feel a little moisture on the floor of I touch it, but I can't really see it). I think yours does a better job mopping.
r/RobotVacuums • My wife is no longer complaining about how much I spent on the robot vacuum ->I bought the SwitchBot S10 because it has the same roller mop as the S1 Pro (a review from The Hookup on YouTube showed it also has the same mopping performance) but has a separate base for emptying/re-filling water that pipes into the plumbing. It docks automatically to that base when it’s time to empty the dirty water and refill fresh water and does it all itself. I’ve had it for a week now and it is amazing. Never touching the water ever is a game changer. Anyone looking at the S1 Pro should also be seriously considering the SwitchBot S10.
r/RobotVacuums • [deleted by user] ->Bought it almost exactly 6 months ago and still love it. In fact it's mopping/vacuuming right next to me as I type this and I have zero regrets - would definitely buy it again. The second base for the water fill/discharge is an absolute game changer and I haven't had to fiddle with the water at all, ever. In fact, I've only emptied the main base's trash bag once in the 6 months I've owned this (it's a big size). It's received a few software updates since I bought it that made its AI object detection a bit better and added new features to the app, so it's constantly getting better. The only downside is that SwitchBot's customer support sucks donkey balls. About 4 months ago the roller mop stopped getting wet so I contacted their customer support through the app, who took about 4 days to respond and simply say, "Send it in to us so we can fix it." Luckily there was a firmware update that came in 2 days earlier that fixed it so it became a non-issue. But I'd buy it again despite the awful customer support because I'm lazy and it's the most hands-off full-clean solution I've found - and works really, really well.
r/RobotVacuums • [deleted by user] ->I use the S10 and it’s great overall. I have to give its tanks and roller a clean out once a month, but not having to empty/fill water is amazing. And I managed to install the water dock myself, once I figured out the gaskets which the video demo didn’t mention lol 2 Docks, 1 Bot (SwitchBot S10 Review) https://youtu.be/QYpqLe076Q4
r/HomeKit • Best Homekit Supported Robot Vacuums? ->I’ve only tried the SwitchBot S10 and K10 from that list, but I do recommend them both. And they finally just added support for Siri Shortcuts to clean a specific room, which is a MASSIVE quality of life improvement!
r/HomeKit • These Robot Vacuums have native Matter support ->I use Switchbot S10, has matter built in and you can add it to homekit for basic functions.
r/HomeKit • Robot Vacuum/Mop combos that have HomeKit native? ->The K10+ doesn’t support Matter directly, only via the Hub 2 which means it shows as an on/off switch. Not as a vacuum. This is important to know! (I have both the K10+ and S10) I *think* the K10+ Pro Combo has a direct Matter update coming. The S10 supports direct Matter, but only 1.3 spec which doesn’t allow you to set a specific room via HomeKit, only choose stop/start and vacuum/vacuum and mop mode. SwitchBot have said a Matter 1.4 update is coming in August for the S10 But let’s see. FWIW I like the performance of the K10+, the S10 is acting a bit funky on the current firmware though.
r/HomeKit • Best Homekit Supported Robot Vacuums? ->The bad news is that all current robots with roller mops also vacuum, and all that I know of don't have a mop-only mode. The good news is that there are a number of models which fulfill all of the other items on your want list with varying levels of quality, with more on the way. Here's the list of robots I know of on the market today, with short bouts of summarization/opinion: * SwitchBot S10+. Really cool design, with separate docking stations for the vacuum and mop water filling/emptying. Can be hooked up to plumbing. Can also empty their dehumidifier/fill their humidifier. Can extend the roller to clean right up to walls. Mixed reviews; the mop is a huge positive. * Eureka J20. Independent reviews have not been kind, though the mop has been a standout. * 3i S10 Ultra. Includes a dehumidifier to fill the clean water tank from the air, and a still to distill dirty water into clean water and send the leftovers to the vacuum dustbin. Pretty good reviews, although there's some concern about the longevity of the water management system, there is no way to empty the dirty water tank apart from the still, and the mopping has had a surprising number of poor reviews. Also can extend the roller to get close to walls. * Eufy S1/S1 Pro. Current market leader, with overall positive reviews of the mopping system. Cannot extend the mop roller to walls. Very good obstacle avoidance. (Disclaimer: I own a S1 Pro.) * Ecovacs X8/Yeedi S14. Essentially the same robot; Yeedi is the budget brand for Ecovacs. Very recently released, and the current challenger to the S1. It's still a bit early for independent reviews, but the ones out there are all over the place. There's some concern about Ecovacs/Yeedi robots generally; perception is that their quality has gone down recently. And some that have been announced, but not released yet: * Narwal Flow. * Mova Z50 Ultra.
r/RobotVacuums • Looking for a robot drum roller mop ->For Home Assistant, there are three options. Native integrations exist for some brands. SwitchBot will have the best native support; several of their devices are Works With Home Assistant certified, and they officially support Bluetooth, cloud, and Matter integration (see [here](https://us.switch-bot.com/pages/home-assistant) for more info). Some of those integrations will require the Matter Hub, but the Bluetooth integration specifically is local and doesn't require the Hub. Other native integrations: a Roborock integration ships with Home Assistant, and is well-maintained, but beware of very recent Roborock models, as they've changed the protocol to be more reliant on the cloud, and it hasn't been fully reverse-engineered yet. There's also a Dreame integration on HACS that seems to work well. Other integrations exist, but with varying quality, and it's common for newer devices to remain unsupported for long periods of time. As you mentioned, Valetudo is an option. The integration side should be solid, so it's mainly about how well your robot is supported. Don't stray from the official hardware compatibility list! The third option is to use Matter integration. If the model claims Matter support, you should be able to add it to Home Assistant. If you can, get a robot with Matter 1.4 support or better; Matter 1.4 is where they introduced the ability to clean specific rooms. Functionality will be fairly standardized, but likely will not be as full-featured as a good native integration. As for which would be best: given your strong preference for local control, I'd take a good look at the SwitchBot S10. Pay close attention to reviews, which have not all been positive. The S10 is unique in that it comes with two bases, with one dedicated to dustbin emptying and one to water management. The water base hooks up to plumbing by default, but you can buy add-on water tanks if you prefer. There's also an available humidifier and dehumidifier, which can be filled and emptied by the robot. The Roborock Q8 Max+ should also be a good option. It's a better vacuum, but the mopping will be better with the SwitchBot. You're still relying on cloud support, but Home Assistant should work with it. Edited to add a note about SwitchBot Bluetooth.
r/RobotVacuums • [NL] ~400€ vacuum with light mop and Home Assistant integration? ->I like my switchbot s10
r/homeassistant • What's your TOP PICK for the best Robot Vacuum Mop today? ->I bought [SwitchBot S10](https://eu.switch-bot.com/products/switchbot-floor-cleaning-robot-s10) \~6 monts ago and I am quite content with it. I had the auto-fill station connected to the watter supply / drain, set up the schedule to run dayly and pretty much forgot about it. I do some very minimal maintenance every few weeks - mostly removing cat / wife hair from the rotating parts, but they are not a big problem even though the cat is big and long-haired, the wife is thin and long-haired :) It takes just a few minutes and is very easy. Because of your question I checked if the dust bag is full - I haven't changed it at all, but it is like 60% full, even if they say you must change it every 2-3 months. Of course that depends of the amount of dust it collects. The reasons I choose SwitchBot instead of the other models, after doing some proper research: \- Back then it was the only one capable of dumping the dirty (and smelly) water and filling the tank with fresh water automatically. Now other brands (like Roborock) can do that too. The "Fire and forget", almost 0-maintenance factor was quite important for me, being a lazy guy :) \- The cylindrical roller mop (like in the Eufy) looked like the best solution in terms of how well it cleans. And it does clean quite well. Having that said, the mop in the S10 doesn't go the full diameter of the robot, which means it cannot clean near edges / corners, but after 6 months of use I can't say there is a visual difference near the edges. \- This robot cleans its mop constantly while operational - fresh water is supplied to the mop and the dirty one is taken away constantly, while the robot is cleaning. It also does additional mop cleaning when it is done at the water station. \- On the quiet vacuum setting it is pretty quiet, while it is still has decent suction power on the highet settings (but it gets loud). Some other brands have even stronger suction power, but I doubt you really need that. Maybe on some carpets (I don't have any). \- Speaking of carpets, I don't have any, but from what I saw in the videos I watched, the raising of the mop seems to do a good job. Also, the fact that the mop is constantly being cleaned helps further - even if the mop still touches the carpet at least it won't wipe all the "mud" on it. \- It was on a heavy discount, just 800 euro when I bought it. My impressions after \~6 months of use: \- The robot started making some ticking noises, like a diesel engine. It still works fine, but makes me wonder for how long! \- After it is done cleaning it goes to the main station to empty the dust bin (which is very loud) and then starts drying the roller mop for hours! The drying is mostly quiet (you can still hear it if the room is silent), but from time to time it rotates the mop, which is not that quiet. If you're trying to have a nap and are just falling asleep it is a little annoying. \- Two or three times it pulled an USB cable together with the wall charger and dragged it around the house. We just make sure that cable is not left lying on the floor anymore. \- It has never got stuck! Not even once! \- It does bump gently into things sometimes, e.g. the cat's food bowl, sometimes moving it around a little. \- Its object recognision and obstacle avoidance is mostly OK, but not perfect. I don't know how well it will handle toys lying on the ground. And I would definitely not trust it with pet poop. So far I have been lucky and it never encountered the cat's thrown up (I clean it manually as soon as I see it). I don't want to know what will happen if it is still there when the robot starts cleaning. I guess I will find out sooner or later anyway :) Having all that said, it looks like Roborock is considered "The Mercedes of vacuum cleaners" and they also have models with water stations hooked up to the plumbing now. But I think they are significantly more expensive. And their rotating mops seemed inferior when I did my research, but there is a good chance that it actually doesn't matter in practice.
r/homeassistant • What are The Best Robot Vacuums Recommendations Today for Busy Folks? ->We’ve been pretty impressed with our SwitchBot S10 setup. It is our first foray into robotic cleaners, but I’d watched and held off for a long time. What swung me was the plumbed in water station so no filling / emptying of anything (except topping up the detergent in the water station every few months). I’ve got the charging dock/dust emptying station in a cupboard and the water station recessed behind a kickboard under the utility room sink. Made a few wee ramps to handle some bigger level changes between rooms. Open cupboard, push go (or select limited rooms in app) and off Bert goes ! Had very few issues. Doesn’t mop right to the edges, but mops / hoovers the rest pretty effectively, especially as it can be done every night for nothing.
r/homeautomation • Robotic vacuum recommendation ->I'm going to begrudgingly bring up a contested recommendation. Probably an unpopular opinion though. The Switchbot S10 hits almost all your criteria. Almost, as in, it's current Home Assistant integration is horrible. I don't know if you have been following Switchbot stuff recently though, but if so, you may have seen the announcements that they are now planning to integrate all their stuff into Home Assistant way better than it currently is. Time will tell how well that will be, but it's really the only reason I'm even recommending it right now. As for me, the main reason I bought it is it's pretty much completely hands off. It self empties it's waste into a collector after every vacuum, which you only need to empty a couple times a year. And the best part that I really liked, is that it also hooks into your actual plumbing. Clean water in for every mopping, and the waste gets flushed down the drain. That's what really sold me
r/homeassistant • Robot Vac and Mop with obstacle avoidance that will work without the internet ->I picked up a Switchbot S10 a couple months ago. It's my first robot vacuum and I could not be happier with it. The mapping and obstacle detection are great, suction is great and my floors have never looked better. I went with this vacuum for a few reasons: - rubber anti tangle brush; it's a great design and so easy to clean if I need to (two girls with long hair in the house) - auto empty dock; pretty self explanatory. - auto empty mop station; this is the real standout feature for me. It's super easy to hook up the two hoses under your sink. The dock slides nicely under the toe kick of your cabinets and the robot will auto fill and drain the mop. No reservoirs of funky dirty water to deal with, it's all just pumped away. The dock requires no direct power, rather it runs off the robots power when it docks. - if I buy a Switchbot humidifier down the line, the s10 will keep it filled for me. I think that's pretty neat. Works with their dehumidifier too. I'm planning to grab one of their k10 minis down the line to take care of our second floor. Looks like that one will be perfect for navigating the kids' bedrooms. I see them to on sale regularly, just need to bite the bullet one day. My wife was angry I spent $CAD800 on a vacuum for the first one, but even she's grown to love the S10. The K10 had a stick vacuum attached to the dock too, so that'll be nice to tackle the stairs with. 10/10, would recommend
r/smarthome • What is the Best Robot Vacuum that Homeowners absolutely love and recommend? ->Happy with S10 right now especially with the auto refill and drain by default, most of the time hands free. The least hands free part is the obstacle avoidance. From time to time I have to save it when it get stucked by wires on the floor. I think 2 out of 30 days.
r/RobotVacuums • Switchbot S10 ->For hard floor and tile, it is good. The roller does pretty good job on any flat surface foregular daily cleaning. sweeping and mopping for corners and edges is a catch and miss but I don't really care so it is fine for me. However, bare in mind it is a 2023 product and I cannot really comare it with any 2025 product. Given the price right now with huge discount at 400 bucks on their website,it is a steal. I bought it for 800.
r/RobotVacuums • Switchbot S10 ->I still think roborock has the best obstacle avoidance. I m with the roborock S8 MaxV ultra and SwitchBot s10. S8 performs much better obstacle avoidance, but still it chews wires like 1 out of 30 days. However, I don't know why somehow it can still dock like everytime, sometimes even with the wire. SwitchBot s10 is good for the auto refill and drain and it chews wires more than my roborock, like 2-3 out of 30 days, but I have to save it as it will pause cleaning amd cannot dock.
r/RobotVacuums • Best robot vaccum object avoidance ->I just got the switchbot S10 for the exact reason and we love it. They were having a stupid huge sale right a few weeks so we really could not pass it up got our whole set up for $499! Wonder if its still around anywhere
r/HomeKit • Best Homekit Supported Robot Vacuums? ->It depends on what you want... I have a switchbot s10. The reason I bought it is because it has a roller mop, and it dumps dirty mop water into my main, instead of a bucket. This thing has been amazing, and I got it on sale so I spent under $1k when the original price was $1800. Again it depends on your needs.
r/homeassistant • What is the best robot vacuum currently that's really worth buying? ->We have a Roborock with auto garbage collection / mopping (The S7, but there are newer models now). Quite nice. Highly reccomend. Also have one of the fancy switchbots (the S10) that automaticalls fills and empties itself directly from a water source... and highly do not reccomend. The navigation is worse than both the Roborock and a cheap knock off machine I bought years ago. And it leaks. Consistently. It sometimes even manages to flood things. Really really not ready for release.
r/japanresidents • Robot vacuum recommendations? ->My S10 turned into a messy nightmare that left trails of dirty water behind it everywhere it went after a few months. Replaced it with a Yeedi S14 which works much better, other than getting just and having to remap every few weeks
r/RobotVacuums • Robot Vacuums/Mops with Auto-Refill & Drain (Mains-Plumbed) – Current Options? ->In my experience, over a few months, it doesn’t mop or vacuum very well. The roller mop bounces and is not consistent. The vacuum leaves springs of hair around the floor for us to pick up, rather then vacuum. Its experienced errors, which SwitchBot repaired and sent back with more issues then when it was sent. They agreed something happened during repair and offered a full refund. I will not buy another one and will stick with our iRobot s9. Gets stuck a lot but it vacuums really well
r/RobotVacuums • Are there any robot vacuums with unique technology and better features? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
