It's upside over the switchbot (which I own) is the spinning mop pads. The switchbot just drags a wet wipe around the floor.
r/RobotVacuums • ECOVACS DEEBOT Mini Robot Vacuum Cleaner and Floor Mop ->Hey. Because you're all hard floor and you named some specific features, I thought I'd talk through this with you. So, Pa is important, sure, but I'm testing robots with absurdly high Pa (over 20k) that miss a lot of debris, and then there's the Switchbot K10+ which has almost no Pa and gets most stuff up. I believe, strongly, that Pa matters less than people think (and marketing people at big brands agree, they keep upping Pa because consumers name it as their main decision making factor). What matters is the design and location of the sweeps in relation to the roller. I say all this because on hard floors, you see ALL the cat hair and litter... so that design is even more important. Navigating around toys: easy. Everyone does it well. Cords? No one does it well. Debris management: 3 months in between changing the bag isn't a big deal. I think you'll be fine. mova v50- low end parts. dreame L50- wasn't bad, but thought the vacuum left a lot to be desired. narwal freo z10, narwal freo z ultra- opposite of no maintenance. you'll be refilling the water every day. eufy e28-has the right sweep/roller design, but was riddled with errors and leaks roborock qrevo curv s5x. dreame x50- good option. r/RobotVacuums • Vacuum/Mop Combo Needed for Hardwood/Tile ->This is some fantastic advice, and I think I'm going to pick up a SwitchBot K10+ based on a recommendation you made because my existing robot vac gets stuck around chair legs in my dining room. Being significantly smaller in my case may turn out to be more important than all the other fancy features on robots that are 4x the price.
r/RobotVacuums • This doesn't have to be an agonizing decision. ->Just got the vacuums, and I'm quite pleased - thanks for the recommendation! I bought 2 K10+ units since the price was so good. It's pretty amazing how much better it is at cleaning under my dining room table; it doesn't get stuck! My previous robovacs would get ensnared in all the chair legs and would need over 30 minutes to escape. I ended up making that room a "no go zone" with my Ecovacs. I have 3 floors in my house, so now I've got one robovac per flor, which is ideal for automation! Edit: The only issue with the Switchbot K10+ that I had was that the Android app is hot garbage. Setup didn't work, and I was getting a bunch of network errors. I tried using the iOS version of the app and it worked perfectly. Even once the robot is setup, the Android app can't properly communicate with the robovac.
r/RobotVacuums • This doesn't have to be an agonizing decision. ->Same here. We had a wobbly Roborock s5 and a switchbot k10+. Both if those dragged a wipe around and was more hassle then its worth. We upgraded to a Qrevo master and the difference of our hardwood floor and tiles are night and day.
r/RobotVacuums • Can a robot vacuum replace a normal vacuum? ->For under 350 you might be a bit more limited. However this may be a curveball answer here to the mainstream, but i have a switchbot k10 for my 2nd floor and the tiny thing is an absolute trooper.
r/RobotVacuums • What robot vacuum should I buy? ->The switchbot K10+ with 10% off is $180 plus shipping. It gets you auto-empty. The mop isn’t going to be worth much but the vacuum is good. Especially if you have tight spots you want it to get into.
r/RobotVacuums • I want to buy my first robot vacuum, my budget is 190 USD, I'm looking for anything that lasts more than 2 years. Any recommendations? ->I originally purchased the Switchbot K10+ combo, but after looking at the dust bin size on the robot it would need to go empty a few times each run. I’m now trying to decide if I should get the L40 and leave mop pads behind as will not be using that feature often on hardwood floors. My first floor is about 50/50 hardwood and carpet.
r/RobotVacuums • Prime Day last chance- a few hours left to score PD deals. Are you on the fence? Let's cut through it. ->I had to put mine on the 1st floor only because it couldn't complete a run of any other floor without throwing itself down the stairs. (BTW, the SwitchBot Cloud integration already supports it.)
r/homeassistant • Robot vacuum for home, what's the best under $500 ->I don't have any experience with Dreame. I've got a Roborock, some Roombas, and the SwitchBot. If I were getting another, I'd probably pick up another Roborock (one with the same supplies) over another SwitchBot, because not falling down the stairs is rather important in my three-story house. (would not got another Roomba).
r/homeassistant • Robot vacuum for home, what's the best under $500 ->Yeah those swiffer pad junk was garbage. Switchbot didn't do too well with the roller in my testing video. Oddly the Eufy S1 besides a battery failure has been doing well in my tests. Crazy it can pick up dried muddy foot prints.
r/homeassistant • For the tech enthusiasts who aren’t in the profession: how much more would you be willing to pay for a de-clouded robot vacuum? ->I vacuumed and mopped so little, that robot vacuums make a lot of sense. I still manually vacuum once a month, but my Roomba and Switchbot keep my floors plenty clean for me. I'm not particularly messy though—no pets, no kids, etc.
r/homeautomation • Can robot vacuum truly deep clean your home? ->I still have my Roomba 770 that I bought at a Best Buy in 2012 for $450 🤣. It lives in the basement now, and I go down there every now and then to empty it and blow out the filters. I run a SwitchBot mop/vacuum on the main level now. I don't really need a robot vacuum down in the basement, but as long as it still works that's what I'll use it for. I've replaced the battery pack a couple of times since I bought it, and when this one wears out (or something else stops working) I'll send it off to recycling. At the time I bought it, it was the way to go. But by modern standards it's extremely primitive.
r/RobotVacuums • Why shouldn’t I buy a Roomba? ->The switchbot k10+ with an all rubber brush should be pretty tangle resistant.
r/RobotVacuums • affordable robot vacuums for hair collection in my apartment? ->Vacuum only: roborock q5 or q8 max+ or the switchbot k10+ with a tangle resistant all rubber brush. Vacuum and mop combo: MOVA P10 Pro ultra at 399 (I think on Amazon US). This is a de facto last gen flagship and the antitangle TriCut brush (may ship in a bundle or needs to be bought separately from MOVA/dreame but AliExpress resellers can be cheaper) worked great with my long fur corgi’s fur and tumbleweeds. This one is least likely to get stuck compared to the previous options. Compared to other vacuum and mop combos under 400 which are solid budget robots, the p10 pro ultra blows them out of the water. As for the curved legs, I think the MOVA may at first try to ride up them then eventually learn how to properly avoid them. I have the MOVA V50 ultra and after it humped tripod legs on the first day, it was able to “learn” how to smoothly follow the tripod legs and avoid riding up on them on the third day (second day produced mixed results).
