I have a Tapo and I absolutely love it, I can't remember exactly what I paid, but I think they average around $400 not on sale? (although one with the auto-empty dock is currently half price; $400 down from $800) They're absolutely brilliant, the LIDAR scanning is really effective at keeping it where it needs to be. I don't have an auto-empty dock but my friend does and I definitely recommend it; since they suck out the dust it keeps the filters cleaner for longer.
r/AussieFrugal • Robot vacuum recs ->We have a TP-Link Tapo RV30. This is a vacuum and mop, but the RV30C version is just a vacuum which may suit you. We have a 6yo kid and 3 cats. We paid $399 several months back and it seems to work well still. It has a traditional roller brush and hair tends to get stuck there, so it needs regular cleaning. A few clips on the bin have broken off (part of one of the hinges, and part of the latch that allows opening and closing of the bin) but I can still open and close it easily enough. There is a version with an auto empty dock, but we didn't get that. For a 3 bed home it regularly has a full bin after one cleaning session. We had a Roborock S7 with auto empty bin before this which was considerably more expensive but didn't last more than 3 years. In the last year, it easily got confused, and eventually was losing power from the motors.
r/AussieFrugal • Robot vacuum recs ->We have two - we got a Tapo in a Black Friday sale a few years ago and it was great. We then got a Hoover one in a Black Friday sale a couple of years ago so now I have one on our ground floor and one on our first floor (annoyingly we have a second floor too but 3 robot hoovers is probably too much 😂) Both are great. I don’t notice a particular difference between either brand. Think both were about £150 in the sale.
r/BuyUK • Affordable robot vacuum that actually works on pet hair and carpets? ->I like the Tapo rv30 max plus. It’s my first one and so far very good
r/RobotVacuums • Which Robot Vacuum for Me? ->Just picked up the RV30 Plus today and I’m very impressed so far. If it was gonna get stuck our house (as it was) would’ve seen it stranded easily, but it coped very well and we’re in the process of changing our habits to allow the robot to just work without us having to tidy up first (2 young children with lots of toys everywhere). It’s a great machine, very impressed with how easy it was to set up and the mopping function works great. Our first foray into Robovacs but I am extremely happy with it.
r/RobotVacuums • Is Tapo RV30 THAT bad? ->Unfortunately I’ve been away for the last 3 weeks - but up until I left it was definitely still a recommendation.
r/RobotVacuums • Is Tapo RV30 THAT bad? ->I am very happy with my TP-Link Tapo RV30 plus, it is fully controllable locally via the official app and the Home Assistant integration, have it blocked from the internet. Amazing buy for the 230 euros. Also has basic Matter support now, however the Tp link integration in HA has a lot more available. The mopping feature is click on like most in price range and does a good enough job to get most dust and easy specs off, although don't expect industrial grade mopping. Vacuum is quite strong and has no troubles with mats and small carpets. Next vacuum I would however probably get auto mopping feature (auto clean and attach), although not sure if I find it worth the added price, I mop once or twice a week and daily vacuum. Edit: have it for almost a year now and no critique yet, doesn't do less or worse than my brothers Roborock double the price.
r/homeassistant • Mopping Robot Vacuum Recommendation? ->I’ve had this for several months now and overall I’m still impressed. I don’t have pets but I do have long hair which is starting to become an issue for the main brush, twice in the last two months he’s stopped during a clean and I’ve had to cut the hair off the brush. According to the app it is 82.9% used and it gives me an estimate of how many hours until I need to change it so I’ll probably do that and see if there’s an improvement. Otherwise I’ve not used my big hoover for anything other than specific things like hoovering out carpet spills and edges. I originally anticipated that I’d have to probably do a vacuum every now and then and let the robot maintain but it surprised me how well he is able to keep on top of the place without that. I do live alone though so it’s never too bad.
r/BuyUK • Affordable robot vacuum that actually works on pet hair and carpets? ->Confirmed. Mine runs every night and it’s amazing.
r/HomeKit • Cheapest Matter Robot Vacuum ->So far they haven’t been bifl because I keep upgrading. From basic no frills -> one with mop -> one with mop and self-empty. Still haven’t leveled up to the ones with the water refill. That said, I’m liking my Tapo self-emptying one (RV30 max plus)
r/BuyItForLife • Too many robot vacuum models… are they actually good and worth the money? ->I went from ecovacs n8 to tapo rv30 max plus...omg., world's apart. The tapo has 2x suction and about the same loudness as the ecovacs..to me it's quieter. Self emptying.. house hasn't distorted after 12hours and 680m^2 . Cleans well. Object avoidance is good for permanent furniture. For objects left, it gives it a bump and goes around it not a hard bump..I'm.ok with that
r/RobotVacuums • recommendations for self emptying + object avoidance and preferably quiet robot? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
