Go on ebay and buy an older one. They exist. A good portion of Valetudo compatible robots are all based on one general model, the 3irobotix CRL-200S. That's what the Wyze WVCR200S I bought is based on.

The Wyze WVCR200S is one of the "probably fine but tread carefully" robots. Some have been successful in getting Valetudo installed, but there is at least one confirmed case of one ending up bricked. I knew this before I bought mine, that's why I went for the $20 eBay special (which works fantastic, but the battery only lasts 10 minutes). If it ends up bricked, then I'm only out $20; but if it's successful, then I got a screaming deal for a 100% locally-run robot.

Wyze WVCR200S (aka "Wyze Robot Vacuum") I'm actually trying to get it rooted right now. It's being a pain in the dick due to Wyze configuring it to shut off ADB immediately after boot. I knew this before I bought it, which is why I went for the $20 ebay listing, but it's also the only CRL200S-based robot that was sold here in the US. It works perfectly, with the exception of the battery only lasting about 10 minutes. The day I got it, I charged it up and set it loose - it mapped about 60 sqft of my living room before the battery straight-up fucking died haha. I bought four Molicel P30B 18650 cells to rebuild the battery pack - about $5 each. Should be solid once it's rooted and flashed... If I don't brick it first. Heh. Edit: Still haven't gotten ADB to stick. Tried about 80 times (not kidding, `dmesg` counts USB connections...). Went through my PC, made sure ADB was working properly with my Pixel, and that `udev` rules were set appropriately. No luck yet. Gonna try again tonight.

I have a wyze for $100. It’s not the best, but it’s $100 so I can’t argue. Only thing it doesn’t get is the cat litter, so I just sweep that up.

I have tried cheap ones and pricy ones, and I have 3 fluffy dogs (one is very large), 2 cats, and a toddler. I have wood floors, and think area rugs, and so long as they have mapping technology they all have been fine! They just need to be maintained to really work, like cleaning the roller and stuff! We have a Shark and a Wyze right now.

I've had three robotic vacs and WYZE has been BY FAR the best - over DEEBOT and SHARK. I am sick that you can't find them anymore. I would get another one in a heartbeat

So during the prime day sales, Roborock had a bunch of higher tiered robot vacuums were on sale for about $300-$350 and Ecovacs & Dreame are also really good. It includes LiDAR, which is the best kind of floor tracking, a camera for obstacle detection, a vacuum and mop with the mop lifting 10mm+ to avoid getting carpet and rugs wet, self cleaning mop head and drying (so no mold occurs), auto emptying bin so the vacuum can go like a month without any human maintenance (I would of course do some). I have a cheap Wyze one and it works great for vacuuming the floor. Just don’t leave wires and stuff for it to get stuck on and you’ll be fine. You can set nogo zones so it won’t hit a section of the room, you can usually spot clean like someone spills a bunch of rice and you don’t want to take a normal vacuum to it. A cordless vacuum and robot vacuum are great if you don’t have carpet and small amount of rugs.

A cheap Wyze bot that I flashed with Valetudo. A big thing that helps is taking the time to make your house robot compatible. Things like using velcro cable ties to get cables up off the floor, finding places for shoes (boot trays, shoe racks, etc) so the robot doesn't suck up the laces, etc.

I have a Wyze robot vac cleaning 3 tines a week and I can't believe how much cat hair it picks up. The dustbin is full every time. It also picks up most of the cat litter the cats track out of the boxes.

I have a Wyze robot vac and I'm amazed at how much it picks up. I vacuum whenever I see spilled cat litter but it still picks up so much.

Wyze was my fav but they don't seem to make them anymore. Eufey worked well but the gears were cheap and they got mechanically loud over time Roborock is highly respected in Reddit, but the mop tank in ours does not dry out as it's completely enclosed. You also can't open that part to air it out. So mop feature is now useless to use. Furthermore, the mop tank makes the vacuum tank and vacuum empty area smaller. So it gets clogged with our rabbits hay. Which is an unusable issue that most ppl won't have however we have not had it on iRobot, eufy, or Wyze. Only roborock The roborock is quietest. But wife likes it the least cause mop function leads to it getting mildew or getting clogged often. The mop also grazes the top of our median pile carpet enough that we won't use in on our white carpet as it drags a wet rag over the top just enough to be an issue over time Roborock is actually our least favorite given it's the most advanced m/newest yet works the least for our use case Also, lidar uses IR lasers. Which I swear our rabbits can see. We can see it scanning via the IR cam on our Wyze camera. We worry it will damage there eyes at its right at eye level. So we don't use it in all areas. And 2 of our 3 rabbits do seem to have eye issues but idk if that from the vacuum or from their past life as adoptions. If you have pets I don't recommend running the lidar ones when they might be in the room
