I still have my Xiaomi Mi Robot 1S since 2017 and still runs like a charm, but I have to say 2 years ago I have replaced the battery for 50 bucks and now I'm looking into a new robot which is capable of detecting the things on the ground from my kids as well as also does a wet cleaning... but I also came up with that question, will that robot last also 7-8 years? Probably not... but it also does a different and more complex job.
r/RobotVacuums • Robot vacuum that will last ->I had an original xiaomi robot from like 2016 that worked super well. It's only problem was that xiaomi made it so that you couldn't access the app from the US. So it would work great except you couldn't schedule cleanings, you had to manually start. I wanted to autonate so I bought two Eufy x8 pro SES units ( one for each floor) and that has worked fantastically. I gave the old unit to a friend and they are still using it
r/RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to have such a short lifespan? ->I have always wanted the iRobot vacuums to be good. My "go to" move until a year or so ago was to get iRobots. I've had several iRobot machines over the years. Not one of them has been of acceptable quality. The first good robot vacuum I had was a xiaomi from about 2015 that a friend got me. If they hadn't made it impossible for that model to connect to the Chinese server, I'd still be using it I've been pretty happy with my Eufy robots. They hit the right mix of inexpensive, quality, and features.
r/RobotVacuums • Should I buy Chinese? ->Mine (a Xiaomi Mii from about 8 years ago, though it wasn't the newest and most advanced model even back then) has a voice that will complain when it gets stuck and it sends a notification to my phone as well, so you wouldn't need to keep checking it.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->I've had the same Xiaomi Mii for the last 8 years or something. I'm extremely satisfied with it. But it really depends on things like clutter, obstacles like cords, and even how particular you're about spotless floor (imo, it's spotless, but I've seen posts by people who just like to vacuum themselves for a more perfect cleaning). I'm kinda of a slob and also get very stressed with the noise from the vacuum in the same room as me, so a robot I can schedule to run when I'm not at home is very convenient. And now it's just 2nd nature to remove things from the floor (even if that means flinging it onto the closest high ground) so we rarely have problems with the robo half-choking on a sock. Cleaning the rollers off long hair is annoying, though.
r/IsItBullshit • IsItBullshit: are robot vacuums actually good and worth the money? ->To be fair, my first gen Xiaomi robot vacuum that I replaced last week vacuums way better than the ecovacs T20 omni that took its place.
r/Roborock • I was a Non-Believer ->I mean, it can be both of the things. That Xiaomi vacuumed perfectly, it literally almost never missed a spot, so I can't really imagine how there can be any improvement over perfection ahah In my case I upgraded mostly because I wanted to add mopping, better map management and less noise, and I paid so little for the T20 that I'm fine if it gets 99% of the older robot.
r/Roborock • I was a Non-Believer ->I have the Mi one (not sure if the model) and it’s quite impressive, has been running for 2+ years with no issues at all!
r/Kochi • Robot vacuum and mop suggestions? ->Been using the Mi one since lockdown. Maid ko tabhi se GPL diya hai.... I was insisting on buying it when it was on a flash sale for 17000, but mom was only convinced during COVID and I ended up paying 20k... Still worth it..... Today however I'd recommend the newer ones with self clean and vibrating mop at minimum... Will upgrade to those when this one dies ....
r/pune • Any good floor robotic vacuum cleaner ->Been using Mi since 2020. First issue popped up on 2025 and technician came home with in 2 days to fix. We are in Kottayam. So Mi is good from my experience.
r/Kerala • Looking for a good robot vacuum with reliable service support in Kerala – any suggestions? ->Been using Mi since 2020. First issue popped up on 2025 and technician came home with in 2 days to fix. We are in Kottayam. So Mi is good from my experience.
r/Kerala • Looking for a good robot vacuum with reliable service support in Kerala – any suggestions? ->My old original Xiaomi MI robot vac has been going strong still with good battery life for over 8 years 😆 Just replaced the brush and filter a few times. I turn off when not in use once or twice a week to reduce battery depredation.
r/RobotVacuums • Is it normal for a robot vacuum to have such a short lifespan? ->Yup, that's the answer, Valetudo the only truly local robot vaccum intégration in home assistant, and the l10s works wonders (from what i heard, I'm running a cheap Xiaomi mija robot vaccum on Valetudo) Roborock do have a "local polling" intégration, but you still need to have your robot be able to talk to roborock servers.
r/homeassistant • Best automatic robot vacuum? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
