Reliable, great mopping (lifts pads), but poor cable avoidance.

I've been using robot vacs for like 5 years now. Currently the one I got was the Xiaomi S10+. Nearly 2 years old at this point. Specifically got it for the spinning mops and better camera sensor. From experience, particularly if you live in the city, a robot vacuum is super effective at controlling dust. It takes me less than 1 week to fill up the dust tank. That's how dusty my place gets despite being vacuumed everyday. Just need certain conditions for it to be effective. 1. You don't have my cables/small objects spread all over your floor that can become obstructions/stuck on the brush. It's smart enough to push objects away and avoid furniture legs, but cables on the floor are what my vacuum most often gets stuck on. 2. No high ledges or thresholds.. These vacuums aren't advanced enough to climb those if they're too high, and most definitely no stairs. 3. Enough space around the docking station for the vacuum to auto park itself. 4. Wide enough spaces that the vacuum can't accidentally get stuck on. I had mine wedge itself between a table and a wall by accident. Also these vacuums have limitations. They can't vacuum corners well. They can't vacuum under furniture if the lidar sensors get in the way. The ones with active spinning mops are more effective than the ones that have it fixed, but unlike normal mopping, they basically collect all the dirt on the pad until the end of the cycle. So there's a good chance it can smear things all over the floor too (had my vacuum accidentally do this with dog poop. Not a great experience) My experience with the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S10+ has been very good. Object and obstruction detection is significantly better than my first robot vacuum. But this was a model from 2 years ago, and there are models like the Anker C20 and Lefant M3 that not only auto clear their dust tanks, but also auto wash and dry the mops. But I have no experience with either. You could also get a Eufy C10 or Xiaomi H40 where they auto clear the dust tank. These will definitely fit your budget too. But in terms of removing dust, small bits, and hair from the floor. Man it's a game changer. If you walked with barefeet at my place back then, you'd end up with black soles by the end of the day despite sweeping the floor every day. Now you can walk around and end the day with pretty clean feet
I cycle it every day. I cannot let it skip a day with how dusty it is https://preview.redd.it/zgs088c99y3g1.jpeg?width=2590&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=da84ea09464b3610aa56f48166c04bfa25c24577 This is just 2 days worth of dust lol. When i ran my first vacuum cycle for the first time ever. The dust tank was immediately filled up to the limit lol. I run mine in the middle of the day when the house has the least amount of people so I can leave the doors open and vacuum the entire house. At night most doors are closed so it can't vacuum the bedrooms. Crumbs and rice are no problem. When it comes to small particulates it's easy peasy. You'd definitely want an active mop type for smudges, but if the smudge is too much, it'll just spread it all over the floor. If it's hairs, you'd have to manually clean off the clumps of hair from the brush every once in a while. What I like about my model is that you can remove the ends of the brush and basically slide the circles of hair off. My old vaccum's brush didnt do that. So i to painstakingly cut and remove every single strand on the brush with a blade.
Small floor carpets yes, carpet floor no. But if you're expecting it to pull off surface level dust these things can do it fine, they're designed with carpets in mind, but don't expect it to be as thorough. You will have to deep clean it once in a while. Higher recommend those with active side brushes for more side agitation. Then adjust the vacuum power to your liking. Would have to say it depends on the carpet a lot too. The thicker ones tend to get pushed aside by the vacuum. So you'd want to make sure the carpet isn't too thick that the vacuum can't go on top.
I had a S10+ and it eventually broke down because of the mop water it was inhaling when vacuuming. It cannot mop only or vacuum first before mopping. Other users’ experiences matched my experience. I’d recommend the S20+ since it can vacuum first before mopping or just mop.
My first robot was a Xiaomi s10+ that was gifted to me as a housewarming gift. It helped a lot but there was so much to be desired since it couldn’t vacuum first then mop (it could only vacuum only but couldn’t mop only) so the vacuum motor ended up dying after a year after the moisture from the mops entered the brush housing, dustbin, and vacuum motor making mud in there and eventually killing the motor. Otherwise pretty solid but it’s now discontinued. Xiaomi support was very helpful when something got stuck in the wheels even when I had no proof of purchase since it was a gift. I upgraded to the M30 S (mainland china only so no local support) with my own money. Pretty decent for its price as it could wash mops with hot water, extend the mop, and vacuum first then mop. It’ll clog the dustbin rather easily with fur though. It uses the same dustbin as the Dreame x40 ultra and the MOVA p10 pro ultra. Closest to the dreame l10s ultra gen 2 with hot water mop washing and no detergent tank. I’d recommend the newer robot vacuum 5 or 5 pro if you want an RGB camera for obstacle avoidance. I’m seeing some navigation issues with the 5 pro but since Xiaomi’s customer service has been pretty solid I would still recommend it.
They're good robots.I've been running the S20+ for a while now.Which is pretty much the same, but the twin mopping pads do a really decent job. I've also bought the S40 pro recently which gains extendable mop and brush arms and ups the suction a fair bit. My S10+ has been retired and put on ebay! They are all really good value for money.well built, with a good app too. Their chief plus point tho-is they just work and do what it says on the tin. I've had zero hardware issues,no dramas or crises at all. You can just trust them to go about their business with very little input, and that really,is the whole point of these little machines.
I can only give an honourable mention to the xiaomi s20+ in that I have one.I'm in the same situation as you-smallish flat, bit cluttered and some really narrow ares too.The machine vacuums and mops really well with the twin mopping pads.Obstacle avoidance is more than decent-mine lives under a table with barely a centimetre clearance each side to get to the docking station,it comes and goes quite happily! The xiaomi home app is Good too-loads of options/schedules etc.Xiaomi is (apparently) one of the better robovac firms re: support. Its a not unreasonable price-£175 odd bought direct from Xiaomi.I have been impressed enough to buy a 2nd hand s10+ just to live in the kitchen for mopping duties-virtually identical with equally good performance.IF you can find a new s10+,go for it,plus it should be cheaper than the s20+ too.Cant help with the other models having no experience with them.
That-from my experience depends entirely on each specific model you own, even within the same app.
S10+,S20+,S40 pro. The S40 pro has far more options in its software-even though I control all 3 within the same app.
Well, these headline suction figures are-well,shall we say "interesting".Having only 2 robovacs to compare-both xiaomi and physically identical with the same brushes/filters etc.The newer generation one (with 6000 pa) picks up very well on my mainly low pile carpets-no complaints-at all.BUT,the previous generation one with just 4000 pa, keeps pulling far more dirt/dust out of the carpeted areas than the newer model-make of that what you will.......
I returned my ecovacs and bought 2 Xiaomi S10 bots. They are much better, tangles little, easy to clean compared to Deebot
yes bro. go for it. My 2 friends have been using it for 2 years. Still working. Even ecovacs also my friend has 3 of them for many years. But i don't trust the brand because they dotn have service and use paid reviews. Just check the negative reviews on amazon and u will get it. to get life, Main thing is that u shud note is that donot use the mopping function. Moisture causes damage easily.
And i got them for 11.5K and 9K during sales. So very happy with it. Got an entire set or spares kit for 800 later.
