So I’m always a simple foam pad sleeper when I backpack/camp, or even I use the same foam pad when I’m on a cot, it’s a basic super thin roll up or fold up therma rest foam pad and I’ve tried self inflating pads of the same thickness but hated them. TRIED a friends who had this sugar lake pad, and I was blown away…. Wayyyyyy more comfy than my pad.. so now I wanna see if I can find something just like this, but perhaps in muted colours? No blue, green colours or brown preferably, if it is the same size as a roll up foam pad or only slightly bigger than like a therma rest folding pad that would be ideal, -rhapsody does t need to be as big as this sugar lake pad, but if it is… I won’t complain… Please save my back 🙏
If they had a good colour I’d consider, my other worry is that it’ll feel like other inflatable pads I’ve tried that just feel like I’m rolling around on air which I’ve always hated, that’s why I stick to my foam personally, But this sugar lake mat felt like a bed to me and blew my mind… I wanna get closer to that than to a traditional inflatable… while being lighter do you think this would fit that? (Still wrong colour tho:/)
Looks nice even heavier I think though ugh
This one is the 🐐 https://www.decathlon.co.uk/p/_/R-p-307396
We’ve got these! They are bulky but extremely comfortable. Slept so well at glasto last year.
+1 for the Berghaus self inflating mattress or possibly the Decathalon version. I got the Decathlon one because it’s more affordable and definitely still more comfy than your standard air mattress. However, I go camping with my family a lot and have since tried out one of their Berghaus matresses and you do get extra comfort for the money. When I upgrade it’ll be because the Berghaus version is way easier to carry. The decathlon dupe folds into a big awkward rectangle that doesn’t fit under my arm (f, 5’7). Whereas the Berghaus rolls into a little sleeping bag/tent-style bag that is easier to chuck in a trolly or ikea bag of other stuff. In the meantime I’m going to try fashioning some longer straps for mine, but then risk it dragging on the floor so we’ll see. 😅 One cool thing about the decathlon version is that they have clips so you can clip the singles into a doubles if needed. I used to get a recurring knot in my back from camping on roll mats and air mattresses and it hasn’t come back since getting a self-inflator. And I’ve slept like a baby all the festivals I’ve used it for so what you go for depends on the pay off for comfy or extra comfy!
We’ve bought these for this year! Glad to see some positive reviews.
I've got this, it's excellent!! Worth the extra bulk/weight for sure
