ive used a klymit insulated static v luxe for a few years now. its been good. i actually prefer it in my ridgerunner double layer hammock, its the perfect width for the pocket in the double layer hammock and laying down on it i can feel the heat kick back from the insulation. been down in the 30's with it no issue. cant speak of the ampex never even seen one, but my klymit has been good.
I had the Luxe version. It was not comfortable. Or warm. And they’re not even the lightest pads. $30 is great though for a backup or kids, etc.
6'3" 328lbs I use the Static V Luxe.
So I just used my 30" wide Klymit Insulated Static V Luxe. At REI and other shops, it's $129ish. But I got it for $99.99 online from walmart. It's 72"x30," making it pretty sizeable. While many complain, they aren't the best. I had no issues with it getting down to 29 degrees Fahrenheit, -1.6 celcius. It's a good starter pad at that price, in my opinion. However, I also had a tent footprint and moving blanket below me too.
> Klymit Static V Luxe 6'4" 240. I use this one.
I'm a wide individual who sleeps like an alligator trying to death roll its prey, and 30" is plenty wide. I use a Klymit Static V Luxe (insulated) with a Zenbivy XL base sheet and quilt. It's very spacious, packs down small enough for motocamping, great for weather from 10°F to 80°F (upwards of 90 if there's a fan in the tent), and is plenty conducive to my aggressive sleeping maneuvers. I just wish Klymit would get their heads out of their asses and ditch the flip valves. As long as they keep the flip valves, I can't recommend them.

Klymit pads are super comfy (and I do use the 30" wide insulated pad), but they are quite disingenuous about the insulation ratings and the flip valves are just straight bad. The valve alone is bad enough that I can't recommend them to anyone.
They downgraded hard from the twist valve.
