I don't race and honestly my light setup is probably significantly heavier than what you have. But i do appreciate Arkansas bikepacking and bikepack racing. The riding is hard and fun and your rig is sweet! Imo, if your going to mess with an airpad make sure you get a warm one. As far as setup and breakdown, they are a pain because you need to get all the air out to pack them snug. Even a tiny bit of air makes a pad a bulky mess. I personally love rab pads. Currently my winter pad is the hypersphere. It's ridiculously warm (someone talked about heat radiating, this one does that) it's quiet, and it's heavy. But only a little heavier (and similarly bulky) than my cheap Klymit I use for summer. I'll probably invest in a ultralight air pad at some point for summer but winter isn't the place to cut ground insulation corners. A cheaper rab is the stratosphere at r5. 5, which stacked with your foamy should get you to R6 (your foamy is half length and narrow so you won't get the full +R2 boost. Imo, if you are going airpad go warm. If not just get a full size foamie. The durability and lack of hassle of a foamy is going to be superior to any airpad. Finally, I do recommend a battery pump. The stuff sack inflation takes forever and some pads are prone to delamination from moisture from breath. And in my case the rab is down filled.
Klymit is durable. It's like 70D. But my dog has a big Agnes aircore insulated and it's holding up. Probably 40D outer I've got a Rab hypersphere 7.5 down filled and it's 20D outer. Also holding up but it only have a few trips, so time will tell. Klymit is heavy, not warm but durable. It's my summer pad.
Klymit, I'd guess about 50 at this point. I've had it since 2021. And it was a refurb. Definitely not warm, but it's reasonably comfortable. It's also noisy. Literally just got the Rab in June and it's just got cold enough for it this month. First pad I've had that I can feel warmth under me. Very comfortable, very quiet. Only have 5 nights on it (2 trips).
Klymit isn't insulated at all. Even the insulated one. It is labeled R4 which should keep it warm enough into the 40s but you'll be cold on it in 50s. So as long as you understand that, it's a fine durable pad. I cannot imagine the ampex being heavier. Best case, fall temps, you need to add that military thermarest under it. Actually, I recommend this in anything but summer temps. I didn't find it comfortable at first but it was my first airpad. I had been using a thermarest prolite 4 since probably 2005 which I found fine, but as I noted I usually double pad in cooler weather so often it was the prolite over a ridge rest or Z-Rest. It turns out, you need to blow it up much less than you think. Now I find it noisy but comfortable. However, it's my summer beater pad now. Anything below freezing (or really below 40F) I take my Rab R7.3 pad, which I actually feel heat radiate off. It's crazy... And yes, for cold weather I still put a thermarest close cell foamy under it. That makes it R9
