We sprung for a zempire monstra mat and love it. We have a couples bag, but it's cold AF if you don't also add a blanket inside to fall around your shoulders.
Like everyone said. Zempire monstamat or exped megamat. Both really great for camping. Next level compared to an air mattress. Don’t over inflate them.
Plus one on the Zempire mats, my partner is very picky with sleeping and if I give the monstamat some extra puffs to get it firm she is as happy as larry while camping, we got a second one we leave in the parents’ spare room in their retirement village and sleep on it when we visit them as well.
Our family of five all use Zempire Monstamats; my husband and I both have a king single, and our children have a single. Super comfy and no cold air comes through underneath.
I just got the Zempire Monstamat (?) and have used it for several nights this past week and I love it! So comfortable. The best sleep I have had outside in 15 years. I also got the Zempire King cot and together they are perfect!
If you really don't care about size: Zempire MonstaMat; available in either single person or 2-person size (called a "Twin"). Ours is not only used for camping, but also year-round as a day-bed (sofa bed) mattress topper - very comfortable.
Only into the 4th year to be fair - but used throughout the year and no indication that it won't hold up for years to come. Impression is that the "MegaMat" product is very similar - had seen several "excellent" reviews for the MonstaMat and it happened to be On Sale at time of purchase. It is what I would consider "semi-self-inflating" - we use a Flextail Tiny Pump to 'top it off' and then use the same pump to help deflate it when packing up to leave camp (most of the air comes out by folding, but the pump flattens it as much as it is ever going to be). We do store it 'opened,' as recommended.
