I’ve had a great experience so far with my Aqara G400. Some folks seem to have trouble with it but they generally use it powered by batteries. I’ve got it hooked up to the mains and it’s been rock solid for me.

Have had it for about 2 weeks now. It’s good. The night vision isn’t that great probably the biggest con but I love not paying a monthly fee and having HomeKit integration. I say go for it. It’s only $99 bucks too

Same. I made my Reolink doorbell HKSV compatible via Scrypted, but the Reolink randomly croaked this week. Decided to try the G410 cause of native HKSV, but now the G400 seems like a more reliable option, even though it's a lower model? Who the heck makes a doorbell that's not fully weather resistant? I want an HKSV doorbell that works with my existing doorbell wiring that is reliable. That's it. Maybe Apple will make one eventually.

I think it depends on what you are looking for, for me POE wiring is not possible due to wiring issues thus I was stuck using wifi for both models. Also for the image ratio wise I would prefer to have a horizontal view than a vertical view for my corridor shape. (Can view my post to see the difference) Image quality wise I prefer G410 as it seems sharper than the G400 (not sure if it changed through firmware updates) For the red light I prefer G410 as it only lights up when it detects someone on the mm wave sensor. Also based on the waterproofing wise mine is sheltered thus using both models didn’t matter.

I agree, they do seem bulky. In this case for the G4 and G410, there are 4 Aa batteries so the size is largely dependent on that physical perimeter. In the video I show the G400 though (I did a review of that too) this is significantly smaller as it’s a powered device only. It can use wiring or PoE and is actually really good.

Now you’ve mentioned it, I’m seeing the same thing. Recordings on HKSV are crisp and so is the live view through Aqara but the live view through the Home app is worse.
