I use a Wemo WDC010. Wemo is stopping support for their HomeKit products in January but the doorbell will still work. You can still buy them on eBay. Note: I was not able to successfully add the doorbell to the Home app on my phone (iOS 26.0.1) but was successful using my iPad (iPadOS 26.0.1). My previous WDC010 was added to my iPhone Home app no problem with an older version of iOS.

Works well when it works, a lot of people get constant “not responding” in HomeKit from it, but I found the solution to that (saw it on Reddit somewhere actually) was to restrict the device’s access to the internet (WAN) without restricting access to your local network (LAN) assuming you have a HomeKit hub. This did wonders for me, but your router has to have support for it.

Really like mine. Occasionally needs a reboot but otherwise works well and fully supports HKSV

Used wemo belkin may fit your needs but the transformer needs to be powerful enough or else it gets glitchy

Mine has worked pretty well for last couple years! Didn’t need to do anything special like blocking internet access. Does need an occasional reset once every few months but I got it for $60 used so can’t complain too much.

The Wemo works great with Homekit. My biggest issue with it is it goes offline by itself all of the time. It happens at least once every 6-8 weeks. I've seen complaints from others. I don't think it's the network, since it's mounted with 20feet of the router. It can be fixed by removing the tiny screw at the bottom, hitting the reset button, then remounting. Then you run the risk of dropping the tiny screw that holds it in place. I received extra screw, and haven't used it yet. I do like that it uses the existing chime.

Have had Wemo over 2 years with no issues. The biggest things to consider is wifi signal at your doorbell and updating your transformer.

Same here - no reboots or freezes observed, everything’s been pretty seamless except for package detection, brown boxes don’t contrast super well with my wooden porch so this feature doesn’t really work for us.

I’ve got a Logitech and I’ve been happy with it. I just wish it had typical night sight instead of 3 LED lights showing at night. It looks kinda odd having these bright lights on my porch. Otherwise I’ve been happy with it. I tried the Wemo but I hated the view. They made the fisheye extreme and it looks like a funhouse mirror every time someone comes to the door. They did it to technically get a bigger picture, but it wasn’t working for me. Plus it sticks out significantly more from the wall. So, between the two, I’d go with Logitech.

I can recommend AGAINST the Belkin Wemo doorbell camera. I bought it thinking I was upgrading from an old DBell (pre-HomeKit) but it disconnects so often and records so little that I regret buying it. I also invested in an Aqara door lock and several of their cameras and wouldn’t really recommend. The setup can be fiddly, their app gives me the creeps and the cameras are constantly going offline. I had a Schlage zwave deadbolt that I liked but wanted HomeKit support. I wish I’d waited for Schlage to support HomeKit keys instead (they do now).

The Wemo works. I occasionally have to reboot it. I think the “universal” problem is the doorbell voltage, at least, I’ve read that it creates problems with heat dissipation.

That’s pretty much every single HK Doorbell. Haven’t heard great things about the Logitech Circle View with temperature issues and Belkin WeMo has constant permanent connection issues (that I think I fixed but can’t conclusively say yet) My Aqara G2H Pro frequents disconnects but always regains after a few minutes

Once I banned my Belkin WeMo Video Doorbell from internet access (LAN-only), it’s been working perfectly. No more permanent disconnection issues.

Yes, I have one. It’s famous for having permanent offline issues with HomeKit after a period of time, but this can be fixed by setting your router to block access to the WAN/internet and keep the camera LAN-only.

Belkin WeMo here. Once I blocked it from accessing the internet (LAN-only), it’s been working just fine. Before though it would regularly and reliably go offline permanently and require physically removing and resetting to fix… only for it to happen again a week or two later

WeMo requires blocking it from internet access (LAN only) to work, otherwise it goes permanently offline after about a week

My wemo is fine. I like when someone rings it notifies you on Apple TV and HomePods. Also like it tells you who it is - when it works. I don’t like that if I try to see the video feed from the notification I have to sit there for a minute. It’s not instantaneous. I would switch to whatever others found more reliable.

A controversial choice, but the Wemo can be found for basically free. As long as it has a strong 2.4ghz connection, ours has been rock solid. But YMMV.

Yeah we got ours from Woot! a while back and I didn’t check reviews or anything as we’ve had good luck with Belkin stuff forever. I was surprised to see it averaging like 2.5 stars on Amazon with tons of people saying it’s e-waste. Again, ours works pretty great, and we get notified pretty quick when it spots our kids. Given how many people have bad luck with it though I wouldn’t want to recommend it even as it works well for us.

The Wemo doorbell for HomeKit works okay. It did lock up on me once so far (had in place for a few months) and the resolution is not amazing. The pro is it can be had for cheap. I got mine on Woot! for $40.

I’ve had the WEMO Doorbell going on 3 years and it can either use your existing chimes or ring through HomePods. It’s HomeKit only and uses HomeKit secure video. Other than occasionally dropping off-line and requiring a reset it’s been solid through frigid winters or broiling summers.

I’ve been using the Wemo Smart Video doorbell for about 3.5 years. Works great and no problems other than having to reboot it a handful of times to help it reconnect to the WiFi. Apple Home notifies me almost instantly of any activity. Does not require any kind of subscriptions or storage fees. Have only set it up and controlled it through HomeKit and never have used the Wemo app. Recommend.

I have the Wemo, live in Winnipeg (it gets to -45). Don’t get it. It’s actually fine in the cold temps, worked great for the first year or so, but in the last year and a bit I’ve had to detach it and manually reset every 2-3 months (no matter what the temp). All that, plus Belkin has dropped support for it and all their smart home stuff. So while it still works on HomeKit. There are no more updates. Super disappointing, I bought it because I have had great experiences with Belkin stuff in the past. Personally, I’m looking for a replacement, but there really isn’t much… there’s rumours that Apple is making one… not holding my breath.

I bought one straight from Belkin as a pre-order so was an early adopter when it first became available back in January 2022. Installation was easier than the Ring Pro. Connected to our Airport router 5GHz and love the idea everything works through the Home App. Unlike others with frequent disconnections, ours would stay connected for 6-8 months and then require a hard reboot with the provided green screwdriver. The response time with notifications on home wifi and iPhone 4G/5G was average and comparable to Ring with wifi slightly faster. Our transformer was rated 16V AC/ 10VA. A few days ago decided to upgrade our doorbell transformer to 16V AC/ 30VA and have noticed that there is no longer a delay in ringing the house mechanical chime and video loading times are much faster and responsive. Notifications for someone ringing the doorbell is also more responsive. About 3-4 seconds with wifi and around 10-12 seconds with 5G. Hopefully the increased "power" from the doorbell transformer 30VA will help minimize the infrequent Wemo disconnecting from wifi. I suspect being on 5GHz and having my Airport router being about 10 ft away likely helps.
