[https://www.doorbird.com](https://www.doorbird.com) if you want flexibility and quality engineering. I've installed two for myself and assisted others. Got my first nearly a decade ago and it had a fair upgrade path to new model.

I have a Doorbird and am extremely happy with it.  It's a German company, so the privacy options go all the way, but you can still do remote video intercom and door buzzer control if you want to (and punch the requisite firewall hole). It's very transparent and they put a big focus on data control and privacy.  Downside is that it's expensive, but after trying the unifi offer, I was disappointed and returned it (no gate control, anemic speaker, etc)

r/homeautomation • Are there any smart doorbells that will still work locally (ie, push notifications, camera access from app, etc.) If they are blocked from accessing the wider internet? Ie, they are connected to the router but only for local connections ->

I have a DoorBird but I don’t know who owns them.

r/homesecurity • Privacy concerns - what doorbell cameras are NOT owned by the oligarchs? ->
