I have the E340 doorbell and love it. I had a Ring doorbell previously and the eufy E340 is a huge improvement. I like that it has a higher resolution camera, better motion detection, and an additional lower camera for packages. I also have the eufy HomeBase 3 which adds a lot of extra functionality, like more storage capacity, centralized storage, video playback speed, better motion detection, and a stronger wifi connection. For a doorbell chime I use the HomeBase 3 and a separate eufy E340 plug-in chime add-on. They are on separate levels so when someone pushes the doorbell button I can hear it on both floors of our house and on my phone. The E340 Doorbell plus the HomeBase 3 has proven to be a great doorbell/security camera setup. I would never go back to Ring. In my experience Eufy has been more reliable and advanced in so many ways.

I’ve had the same experience and made a really long post awhile ago about my switch from Ring to eufy. It was a huge upgrade for me. I only had one issue with my E340 doorbell giving error codes in the beginning and after troubleshooting it with eufy, they sent me a brand new one right away. So for me not only has the security camera system been working great overall, their customer service has been excellent. Each system has their own quirks, but overall I’ve been very happy with eufy.

I switched from Ring and my eufy E340 doorbell has been a huge upgrade. I hardwired mine and added the HomeBase 3 also.

We recently switched from having a Ring Video Doorbell 4 for 5 years to a eufy Video Doorbell E340. The E340 has been a great upgrade so far. I like that it has a higher resolution camera, better motion detection, and an additional lower camera for packages. I’ve heard many mixed reviews about eufy cameras and customer service. But so far from my experience with both it’s been great. Their customer service has been amazing. My first E340 doorbell was having all kinds of issues and after trying the different troubleshooting steps they sent me nothing worked, so they sent me a brand new e340 right away via amazon. All of this took place on a holiday weekend and their response time was within minutes of my emails back and forth. Some of it was automated but I don’t care as long as it works. So that made me feel good about switching from Ring. I also have the eufy HomeBase 3 which adds a lot of extra functionality to the e340, like more local storage, faster video playback speed, better motion detection options , and a stronger wifi connection. Combined with the HomeBase 3 the E340 is excellent at motion detection. Something Ring struggled with or just couldn't to do at all from my experience. My situation is different as I live on busy street with vehicles and pedestrians and I only want notifications and motion detection about humans and pets. The E340 only records what I tell it to. At first I just used battery power and with all of the settings I wanted, it drained about 10 percent or more a day. That wasn't going to work for me, so I hardwired it with new 18 ga. wires and a new 24V 40VA transformer and so far it's been keeping the battery charged. The video quality during the day has been great and the night color vision is clear and detailed if someone is at the door. If there's someone 20'+ away it gets pretty grainy, but recording detail that far away isn't really what the doorbell camera is for. For a doorbell chime I use the HomeBase 3 and a separate eufy E340 Chime Add-on. They are on separate levels so when someone pushes the doorbell button I can hear it on both floors of our house and on my phone. Everything was easy to setup in my opinion. The chime add-on needed to have a setting turned on in the app under the doorbell settings. In the app go to the E340 settings/Indoor Chime/Minibase Repeater Chime/Chime Alert and turn on. You can also change the ringtone volume and chime sound there also.

I really like mine, especially since I hardwired it with the transformer below. Compared to my old Ring doorbell the E340 has been amazing. Way better motion detection for humans, pets and vehicles, better video quality, no subscription, and many other features I use. I also have a HomeBase 3 which adds more motion detection options, faster connection to videos and cameras and all videos are stored in one location. I’ve had my eufy setup for awhile now and have no complaints other than the video playback glitch’s sometimes in the app when I try to fast forward or rewind. But if it’s an important video I’ll just download it to my phones photo library and it works perfectly and a great way to save it. 24V/40VA transformer https://a.co/d/hxs8tFM

I switched from Ring to eufy and am very happy with it. I have the E340 doorbell, HomeBase 3, and S340 SoloCam. I hardwired the doorbell because the battery didn’t last very long as I live on a busy street. I added an external SSD to the HB3 for extra storage. It’s not totally necessary because the storage will never run out even with the built in storage. It will just overwrite the oldest videos when it runs out of space. The S340 SoloCam is a great outdoor camera and stays charged with the solar panel. Overall don’t really have any complaints and I haven’t had the issues others have had, and really like my setup. I’ll probably add more cameras eventually.

For alerts it works just fine for me. I only get alerts for my doorbell camera if someone rings the doorbell because I live on a busy street I can’t have alerts or notifications on. For my S340 backyard camera I get notifications for humans, animals, and vehicles because it covers our driveway and parking space too. I’ve found they have good quality night time view. I use the night vision with the spotlights. The only thing I’ve found that still needs work is the human recognition. It works when it wants to. And since it’s not something I care too much about it doesn’t bother me.

I’d vote for eufy. I don’t have any Nest experience but I had Ring for years and eufy was a nice upgrade with no subscription fees, better app, more reliable cameras and better technology overall.

You can get cheaper ones.. e.g. £75 - [https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FVX8KDD5?th=1](https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FVX8KDD5?th=1) or buying direct for £65 - [https://www.eufy.com/uk/products/bundle-t8224311-1-t8026320-1?ref=navimenu\_1\_1\_copy&fliter\_category=video-doorbell&variant=49839939715265](https://www.eufy.com/uk/products/bundle-t8224311-1-t8026320-1?ref=navimenu_1_1_copy&fliter_category=video-doorbell&variant=49839939715265) But I'd personally get a model with a removable/replaceable battery. It would let you charge one, while the other is in use, then swap them over. You've reminded me I need to charge mine!

I've owned a Ring, and now a Eufy. The 'out of the house' experience is almost the same. I can retrieve footage from the videos stored on the microSD card in my house. I can respond directly to people who've pressed the doorbell. The doorbell communicates to a plugged in chime, and the chime to your router. The chime holds the footage on a memory card.

I'm using the Eufy ecosystem, which connects to the Homebase hub, a physical harddrive in my house. The wired cameras also can have a SD card option. I also have the wireless outdoor ones that came with solar panels so technically they will run for ages. I had gotten the newer E340 doorbell, which had two cameras, one eye-level and one point downwards so that it can track packages left on the doorstep. Personally, I think that doorbell is not very good and the battery drains very quickly. My old C30 worked much better and the battery lasted way longer. I can access the videos via the app, but there isn't anything stored on the Cloud so there is no subscriptions.

I mean this sounds mostly like a smart doorbell. Like any smart doorbell that works with Apple. Or are you looking for something smaller? I would think any smart doorbell (wired or battery) that works with the secure apple homekit video thing. I bought a Eufy E340 doorbell that can work with secure homekit and i like it so far. I didnt want to lose some of the features by tying it to homekit so i left it separate, so unfortunately i cant tell you how well it works just through apple, as i still use the Eufy app that pushes to my iPhone.

I got the e340 doorbell and a 2-pack of the c35 cams. No regrets; it works great.

Arlo is no better. Switched to Eufy, never looking back.

I just wanted something simple, wireless, and no monthly fee. Eufy checks those boxes for me. I can definitely see how Poe cameras would be preferable; I just don’t want to run the lines
