Based on 1 year's data from Feb 15, 2026 How it works
I got the Eufy S330. It has an additional downwards pointing package camera and can connect to the existing doorbell wiring for power and to use the chime. You'll just have to make sure the doorbell transformer is the right size. It's an easy swap if it isn't. The big thing I liked about Eufy is that it isn't cloud hosted and there's no subscription. Just buy the hardware and be done with it. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B09QFK3JWS?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share
I have the T8213 which I believe is the e330 and it doesn't work well with the Google Nest Hub. You would probably have better experience with the Eufy Smart Display but I don't have one to speak from experience. I have the Echo Show 15 and the Eufy chime and live view works great on it.
This is my second Aqara battery doorbell because I want something that supports HomeKit natively, since Eufy does not offer this for their doorbell. I previously had the G4 for a few days but returned it due to battery drain. I'm trying again with the Aqara doorbell and am looking for the right linger detection setting. I already own Aqara sensors, which have been reliable, so I expected the cameras to perform similarly, but it has proven to be a bit more complicated. In addition to HomeKit, I have it connected to Alexa and Google Home. In Google Home, the only option available is voice notification, which Eufy doesn’t have. The model number is CH-C09E/CH-C09D, and it cannot be viewed as a camera. I’ve seen another user report this issue, and I would like to receive notifications when the doorbell is pressed, but voice notification is currently the only option available. In Alexa, it appears correctly as a doorbell with all the proper options. In HomeKit, it shows up, but the timeline feature is not available. In the Aqara app, it is displayed correctly with all the doorbell options, but I dislike that they are pushing their AI and cloud subscription on me. My Homebridge Eufy plugin stopped working, which is why I chose this option, but I’m not 100% satisfied. The pros of the Aqara doorbell include native HomeKit support and the battery option. However, my cons include its large design, the screw position, non-rechargeable battery, lack of true motion detection, the layout of the Aqara app, absence of a timeline in HomeKit, and needing the chime. The Eufy battery doorbell was almost perfect, except for the lack of full Google Home and HomeKit support. I will give the Aqara doorbell a shot over the weekend to decide whether I will keep it.
Thanks for the feedback! I feel the same way and I'm thinking about returning it. I mainly got it for the Homekit video feature, which kinda works but isn’t as reliable as the Aqara app. Eufy gives a heads-up that if you use Homekit, you can’t also use Google or Alexa, but Aqara doesn’t mention that. Maybe that’s why Alexa videos are hit or miss, but I’m not sure since I’ve seen other reviews for Aqara. The video did load for me in Alexa, but it was pretty inconsistent, sometimes it took forever or just wouldn’t work at all. Like I said before, I might just switch back to my battery-powered Eufy doorbell and see if I can get Homebridge going. Really wanted a solid experience like their sensors, but it just didn't live up to my hopes.
I agree. Most users without issues using this camera are https://preview.redd.it/hy2itv7svwof1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=b71914b3eee9b5f283a512dbd3369a6a9038487a Apple users, like myself, who may not even use the Aqara app and prefer the Apple Home app instead, which is much better designed. If I relied solely on that app, I wouldn’t have a problem either. In my home, I use multiple ecosystems, so I appreciate when my devices work with all three smart home platforms, something this device was advertised to do but didn't. As a result, I am returning it today and going back to my Eufy battery doorbell, which works properly. Yesterday, my Aqara doorbell went offline, but it didn’t provide a reason why. I only noticed the issue on my way to work. When I got home, I discovered that the chime was unplugged. The Aqara app should be smart enough to identify such issues. All the points you made about the app are valid, and I really want to like the device, but I doubt we’ll see significant improvements. They are more likely to release another doorbell rather than make the necessary software updates to enhance this one and deliver the experience we expect.
I have to be battery only and went from the Dual battery wRadar capability to the E340 battery w my Homebase3. All I can say is the E340 may be great for the battery swaps BUT the prior is 1000 % better for true detection. The swappable batteries run out so fast (
330 is the older doorbell and includes a the older hub. A lot of the smart features are not supported by that hub, so the 330 needed a faster SOC. The 340 is the newer doorbell that moves a lot of the smart features to the newer hub. As a result the 340 has a slower SOC and more limited features when used without the hub. With a hub they are pretty comparable, by the local smarts on the 330 can help in some cases.
I've just started like you, also in the UK Ive gone for Eufy S330 doorbell, Eufy S3 pro cameras. They're great. No wiring, battery/solar power, night vision on the cameras is unreal I've got an Eufy X10 Omni pro vacuum and again, can't fault it I've just setup my home assistant, and found community integrations for all of them. The robot vacuum is pretty complicated but doable if you take your time.
We have the eufy S330 (new model is the S340) and the Homebase 3 and it does a decent job. It’s rechargeable since we don’t have power/wiring there so it’s not always on but we get alerts and can respond via the app when we are away. No subscription, no cloud services, all locally hosted.
I will say you need the eufy e340 floodlight camera will be the best choice. As for doorbell there are a couple of options E340 doorbell (has dual cameras and works of battery or wired and home base compatible), C31 (single camera, wired) and S330 (dual camera, wired only). The main difference between e340 and s330 doorbell is how they detect motion, capability in detection and preroll. I will suggest looking at "lifehackster" YouTube channel to see this comparison. Dude is the best resource when it comes to explaining and learning about eufy products. Vast majority are just selling you the product without good analysis. Here is a link of his comparison between the two https://youtu.be/hDK6uZE3ltc?si=oCrvO_kLFBBwuPfk His comparison is the reason I am holding off from switching my ring doorbell because I don't want to compromise on features between the current options and hoping Eufy will release a wired version with all the features similar to what I have on my ring doorbell 2. I do have a lot of Eufy cameras, doorlocks and the homebase 3. Homebase give you an added bonus of AI features from improved recognition to storage options (16gb standalone, and can be increased with a hard drive). I didn't talk too much about the floodlight because the E340 is the best they have, you can also watch a review on the YouTube channel. One thing about Eufy is you need to monitor it routinely, it's not something you get set and forget like ring. There are issues that arise and you have to be patient with them and work through them. I don't recommend Eufy to people who like to set and forget and hope the video will be there when they need it especially if you add the homebase. But if you are tech savvy and check your cameras routinely you will catch issue and be able to address them.
I think the main thing to consider is that the S330 requires you to also have a Homebase 2 or 3, the other 2 can stand alone. Additionally, the others have removable batteries which means you can buy a spare and swap it out when it needs recharging without losing use of the doorbell while the battery charges. I have the E340 and the extra camera is useful if not essential. If you are planning on getting other cameras as well you might be considering getting the Homebase 2 or 3 anyway (I would recommend the 3 as it allows for expandable storage up to 16Tb) which allows you to store your recordings away from the camera(s)
I was in a similar situation to yours , the want of everything to be in the same ecosystem. Already had the eufy and loved it (the dual camera one) but really wanted homekit compatible, so I returned it and got the circle…The circle sucks, and pulling up video feedback on HomeKit sucks also. If I could go back I’d keep my Eufy and ignore the Logitech .
I have had extremely mixed experiences and I think part of the problem is in vast differences in stability between models. It certainly seems like each device is made by a completely different manufacturer sometimes. I have had these experiences in this order: 1. A pair of 4G LTE Camera S330 cameras. They were virtually impossible to get working and even harder to get onto their sim cards. One eventually simply did not work and had to be returned for the same thing which did work. Why? I don't know. Firmware instability? Roll of the dice? Who knows. It wasn't hardware but they just refused to authenticate with the app. Now they are set up, they work alright most of the time and are still one of the only solar, standalone, sim cameras. 2. I bought a big pack for another home which (mercifully) did have wifi access. \- 1 x Homebase. \- 2 x outdoor solar cameras. Worked out of the box, unbelievably solid, reliable and good. They also have USB-C implying they were made/designed more recently than if they had micro usb. \- 1 x indoor wall plug camera. Has micro usb and is noticeably less reliable than the other ones in connecting, staying online etc. Still works almost all the time, no complains. \- 2 x Door sensors. No complains. Almost all of it works almost all the time and no issues whatsoever. All round excellent experience which repaired my initial experience and prompted me to buy some doorbells. \- 2 x C30 Doorbell. One was tricky to get worked in the connection but after a couple of resets it worked. The other worked out of the box to set up. Neither one worked fully though. No live view (P2P failure error) and lot's of down time. Doorbell to phone call worked once and never again. EXTREMELY unreliable in when it would or would not work and after 3 very long support sessions following the generic work, it's clear there is some weird software or firmware issue. No matter what was changed (reset, firmware updates, wifi tweaks, setting tweaks and I even used the beta application of theirs through testflight). These were USB-C too so modern hardware. I took them back to the store and replaced them with the same thing and exactly the same issues identically. I returned them. \- And replaced them with the wireless 2k dual camera which has a micro usb plug implying it's older and out of the box no issues and has worked ever since with zero problems. NFI what is with the differences. It's been extremely frustrating but I'm glad it works now and it's just so strange how perfect, smooth and excellent some of their offerings are with others being absolutely bonkers.
